Sorry AP but if your theory were correct we'd have children driving vehicles that require a drivers license at the same age.

Mature or not, there needs to be a law.

Like no sweat I got my first 20 guage shotgun when I was 12, my father taught me to use it properly.
But umlike nosweat I continue to look forward to hunting. It part of my American Tradition and I will never turn my back on that. I taught all my children to shoot as soon as they were old enough to handle a weapon with respect. All three have since decided not to hunt. But they know guns, can handle guns, are not afraid of guns and understand it's not the gun STUPID, it's the person holding the gun that needs to be controlled. Sorry, had to get my NRA conservative red neck view in.
Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving day.

Child Bearing is a God Given Right.
Arms Bearing is a Constitutional Right.
Driving is a state controlled Privilage.
3 different things.
Can you imagine the up-roar if we as a country ever tried to require training before child birth. There wouldn't be a hole deep enough to hide in!
