Black Friday Was Out Of Control!

If you weren't out in the crowds at 4:00 a.m. Friday morning you were one of the smart ones. Best Buy had a line like there's no tomorrow and as you can see, people were camping out and leaving trash everywhere from these long lines that seemed to go on forever.

The Bowie Best Buy had to bring in the Police for crowd control. There were literally thousands of people in line and people standing in the parking lot just outside the front door just waiting for the doors to open where they planned on breaking the line and pushing their way into the Store. If the Police hadn't shown up there would have been a riot, no doubt about it.

Me personally, I'd rather pay the higher price and shop when things are more normal. However, IMO, these retail stores need to cut the crap and makes these sales last throughout the week so they don't have these ridiculous crowds. I do not believe it is legal to camp outside a store?

I agree nosweat,

There needs to be laws passed immediately that give everyone the same option towards anything on sale. It is getting dangerous and they still continue to have these BS sales on items just to make people wait. I went into Best Buy around 8:00 a.m. and the line wrapped completely around the inside of the store, it was unbelievable! Who would be so stupid to stand on a line that long when all the sales items were sold hours earlier. The ads clearly said, 10 items per store. Dee, Dee, Deeeee!

A National Law, NOT a Local Law!

I went into Best Buy at 8:00 a.m. to see what was still going on. They wouldn't allow me to take pictures inside the store.

I don't know why I ever leave the house every day without calling you first for my advise for the day. I'll try to remember that you're not only the man with a thousand Blog names, you're also the man with all the answers.

I was watching one of the Thanksgiving football games and saw a commercial saying that Friday was "National Sleep-in Day". Of course, the commercial was for e-bay but I took its advice anyway! I have MUCH better things to do at 5 a.m. on Black Friday, like sleep.

And you know that people are generally not in line to buy gifts, they're in line to buy the coveted items for themselves (unless there's money in it like there was for PS3's.)

The whole idea about stores opening early is to get people in line for the "best" items because the retailers know that it's not possible to hit all of the stores first thing in the a.m. and that once you're in a store it's more likely you'll pick up other items at their full retail price.
