The state of Connecticut’s policy allowing male-to-female transgender athletes to compete in girls’ high school sports is a civil rights violation, the U.S. Department of Education has ruled.
The Associated Press reports that the federal education department determined that Connecticut’s policy violates Title IX, which protects women’s ability to receive equal opportunity in education, including athletics.
The U.S. Department of Education’s letter to Connecticut says the state has “denied female student-athletes athletic benefits and opportunities, including advancing to the finals in events, higher level competitions, awards, medals, recognition, and the possibility of greater visibility to colleges and other benefits.”
The state was already being sued federally for its transgender athlete policy. That’s because two biologically male runners, Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood, finished first and second respectively in the Connecticut girls’ 55 meter dash state championship last year.

Remember this week when it comes time to vote in November. What we’re seeing across America is what Democrats have created coming to fruition; it’s the natural end result of a progressive philosophy that works overtime to absolve individuals of their responsibility and place blame on others for political advantage. It’s rage for the sake of motivation to vote, to hate, to not think. It has worked for progressives in the past, and there’s no reason to believe it won’t work for Democrats now. But in order to work, it has to destroy. Liberalism, progressivism, or whatever they choose to call the Democratic Party’s agenda, kills.
It kills people, it kills businesses, it kills communities.
The first two are obvious, the last one may be less so. The political left spends a lot of time tossing around the word “community,” but they don’t mean it the way you likely understand it. It, like so many other words bastardized by leftists, has been redefined to be more useful to those who seek to use it to empower themselves. The new progressive definition of community kills actual communities; it was designed to do so.
Growing up, your community was where you lived, the people and places in your immediate area. When riding bikes was all the rage, I remember the thrill of combing the sides of the road the morning after the 4th of July with my friends looking for anything with a wick – the firecracker, bottle rocket, smoke bomb, or whatever – that slipped through some adult’s fingers in the darkness and excitement the frenzied night before. We’d gather them up, and with matches swiped from some adult (seemed like everyone smoked then), we set off to find a safe place to blow them off.

Philadelphia faces looting, police cars ransacked as Trump demands 'Law & Order' amid George Floyd unrest
Looters were ransacking parts of Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon following a night of violent protests over the death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed by a white Minneapolis police officer earlier in the week.

Rice's made the claim after top Democrats insisted for years that the White House had conspired with Russia, although Special Counsel Robert Mueller found no evidence to support any conspiracy with Russia by any U.S. actor to influence the 2016 election. Her remarks also came amid efforts by Democrats to pin the blame on outside white supremacist agitators, even though data suggests the vast majority of arrested protesters in recent days are local.
"To designate Antifa a terrorist organization, fine, but let's also focus on the right-wing terrorist organizations," Rice told CNN's Wolf Blitzer, referring to President Trump's decision earlier in the day to brand the left-wing militant group as a terrorist organization. "The white supremacists that he's called, in the past, very fine people."

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Sunday visited a location where protesters have been demonstrating against police brutality and racial inequality, according to a photo Biden posted on Instagram, as protests and riots rage across the U.S. following the death of George Floyd last week.
Floyd on Monday died while in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department after authorities say an officer used his knee to pin Floyd, who is black, onto the ground by his neck for several minutes while Floyd begged for air. Floyd later died and the officer was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.
"We are a nation in pain, but we must not allow this pain to destroy us," Biden said in the caption on the photo. "We are a nation enraged, but we cannot allow our rage to consume us. We are a nation exhausted, but we will not allow our exhaustion to defeat us."

I can’t believe they even tried it. On Saturday morning Minnesota officials came out with an audacious and absurd explanation for the looting and arson that struck Minneapolis this week. Apparently it was white supremacists from out of state who pretended to be actual protestors in an attempt to discredit the protest. The evidence? A vague claim and a lie. It turns out that most of those arrested were actually Minnesota residents.
The hypocritical mental gymnastics from the liberal media in the past 72 hours were amazing enough to earn a perfect 10 from the stingiest East German judge. First, we watched tens of thousands of people hold mass gatherings across the country, which just last week we were told would kill everyone, and the media suddenly didn’t care. It’s like the Chinese virus just went away by magic.
Next we were informed that the looting and arson we witnessed from the protesters was simply the language of the oppressed and how could we even comment about it when another black man was killed by the police. Celebrities posted bail for the heroes of Minneapolis. And yes, the brutal killing of George Floyd is an occasion for outrage.

In 1989, District of Columbia Mayor Marion Barry, Jr. insisted that his city was basically crime-free except for all the murder. “Except for the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,” he told a luncheon audience at the National Press Club.
On May 28, MSNBC reporter Ali Velshi said something just as mind-bogglingly absurd. As violent riots erupted in sections of Minneapolis over the death of George Floyd, Velshi insisted that the protests were basically peaceful.
“I wanna be clear on how I characterize this,” Velshi said, as buildings literally burned to the ground in the background of the broadcast. “This is mostly a protest. It is not, it is not, generally speaking, unruly.”
It’s interesting to watch Velshi struggle to find the words to shape the narrative he’s trying so desperately to tell: that the violence and upheaval unfolding around him aren’t really happening. That the burning buildings are somehow not indicative of what is really taking place on the ground. That the whole scene is really just a peaceful protest, so please don’t misinterpret the fires, the destruction and evacuation of Minneapolis’s 3rd police precinct, the vandalism of police vehicles, and the looting of the Target and arson of the AutoZone as “unruly.”

President Trump is demanding ‘arrests and long-term jail sentences’ for the individuals who were filmed beating a man who was said to have been trying to stop looters from attacking a bar in downtown Dallas on Saturday night.
The president on Sunday tweeted in response to video of the incident, writing: 'SO TERRIBLE! Where are the arrests and LONG TERM jail sentences?'
Rioters last night were seen on video hurling rocks at a business owner who was allegedly trying to defend his store with a sword before he was brutally beaten unconscious in Dallas.
The victim was stable, police said, after the man was seen slumped over in the street with blood pouring from gashes on his head in the Victory Park area of the city.
Footage shows the alleged store owner wielding a long blade and rushing toward a few rioters. Within seconds, a furious mob descends on the man, hurling rocks at him, kicking him in the head and beating his face with skateboards and fists.
Dallas Police said the man had taken up arms against the individuals to 'allegedly protect his neighborhood from protesters.'
