Troopers are looking for Milford T. Favinger-80 who was last heard from by his family on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Favinger resides in the first block of Sioux Drive, Millsboro, Delaware and should be operating a 2009 Kia Sportage, brown in color, with DE registration PC35457.
Favinger is a white male, 80 years of age, 5’10” tall, 220 lbs. No clothing description available.
Troopers have been unable to make contact with Favinger to check on his welfare. Attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful and there is a real concern for his safety and welfare.

Detroit residents can't pay their water bills, activists lobby U.N. for help
Activists in Detroit have begun lobbying the United Nations to step in and solve the city’s water troubles, in which half of residents cannot or are not willing to pay their water bills on time.
Detroit Water and Sewerage Department spokeswoman Curtrise Garner said it’s not the department’s goal to shut off people’s water, but bills need to be paid.
“We want people’s water on, just like they do; but you do have to pay for your water. … That’s the bottom line,” she told CBS’s Detroit affiliate.
“We do have programs that do help those that are just totally in need; can’t afford it — but we also know that there are also people who can’t afford it would can not pay and we know this because, once we shut water off, the next day they are in paying the bill in full. So we do know that that has become a habit as well,” she said.

History buffs race to preserve dialect in Missouri
OLD MINES, Mo. (AP) — A small circle of history researchers is racing to capture the last remnants of a little-known French dialect that endures in some old Missouri mining towns before the few remaining native speakers succumb to old age.
So-called Missouri French is spoken by fewer than 30 people in Old Mines, southwest of St. Louis, although dozens of others can still rattle off phrases from childhood songs or overheard conversations involving their parents and grandparents.
"When they didn't want us to know what they talked about," they spoke in French, said Lucy Baquette, whose husband traces his regional roots back to the founding families of St. Louis.

House Dems Introduce Bill to Provide Taxpayer-Funded Lawyers to Illegal Immigrant Kids
Claiming that as many as half of the illegal immigrant children flooding across the border may have legitimate cases to stay in America, House Democrats introduced legislation Monday to give them taxpayer-funded lawyers to maximize their chances of not being deported.
Reps. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Karen Bass (D-CA), Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), and Judy Chu (D-CA) introduced the Vulnerable Immigrant Voice Act of 2014 (VIVA), which "would provide appointed legal counsel for unaccompanied minors and disabled individuals during immigration proceedings."
"Some of the children who have come to this country may not have a valid legal basis to remain, but some will," Jeffries said. "Yet, it is virtually impossible for a child to assert a valid claim under immigration law in the absence of legal representation... It is a fantasy to believe that unrepresented children have a fair shot in an immigration proceeding.”

Meet what appears to be one of the keys to Thad Cochran’s black-turnout operation, Mitzi Bickers.
She is, from all appearances, something of a renaissance woman: She is not only the pastor of Atlanta’s Emmanuel Baptist Church but also a former president of the Atlanta school board, a former construction-company executive, and a Democratic staffer and political strategist with a checkered past. Last year, she left her job as a senior adviser to Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed after news surfaced that she had filed a fraudulent financial-disclosure statement.
In a bizarre turn of events, it seems that Bickers was in the middle of a bitterly contested Republican Senate primary. Two Atlanta-based entities affiliated with Bickers, The Bickers Group and the Pirouette Company, were paid thousands of dollars to make robo-calls on Senator Cochran’s behalf by a super PAC that backed Cochran in his bid for reelection. Documentsfiled with the Federal Election Commission show that Mississippi Conservatives, the political-action committee run by former Mississippi governor Haley Barbour’s nephew Henry, paid the groups a total of $44,000 for get-out-the-vote “phone services.”
On Tuesday, Cochran narrowly defeated his insurgent challenger, Chris McDaniel, in a runoff election that was nasty and personal from the outset. In fact, McDaniel has yet to concede the race, saying that he is looking into “rampant” voting irregularities and calling on state election officials to release voter data.

Bill Clinton budgeted to receive nearly $1 million in taxpayer money in 2014
An April Congressional Research Service (CRS) report shows that the Government Services Administration (GSA), which is in charge of supporting federal disbursements, budgeted $950,000 for former president Bill Clinton in the 2014 budget.
Clinton will collect a $201,000 pension in 2014, a figure four times larger than the median family income in the United States. The Clintons have received a total of $15,938,000 in federal money since 2001.
Hillary Clinton recently described the poverty her family experienced upon exiting the White House while promoting her book. They were “dead broke,” Hillary said, adding that she and her husband “struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea’s education, you know, it was not easy.”

Neoconservatives, Try This
For well over a decade, since my experience in the Pentagon with the policy-making process of the neoconservatives, I have been critical of their approach, and their goals. They were dissembling about their foreign policy goals, claiming a love of “democracy” around the world while actually trying to grow a centralized empire complete with competing and dependent satrapies. They were over-represented in the swinging world of mainstream media and politicians, and used the vulnerabilities, passions and envy of that incestuous den of iniquity to promote their ideas. They were arrogant despite their limited understanding of both domestic and foreign affairs, confident that they would be able to stay one step ahead of public opinion as the great game was being played, and overseas power shifts expedited. They were elitists and chickenhawks, hated and held in contempt by the very men and women who would be sent to carry out their vast political and social experiments.
While the events in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the extended Middle East area today really are, effectively, much as openly hoped by neoconservative pundits and advisors, the end is near. The sense of waste and a desire to cease throwing good money after bad on the part of the American electorate (both voting and non-voting) has caused a seismic shift that the neo-conservatives may not have imagined possible. The neoconservative era is now passing. Much like the era of eugenics in the United States in the 1920s and 30s, neoconservatism is now widely condemned and considered horrible, sick, and morally wrong.

The new homeowner, Jessica Spence, thanked Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County, her pastor and family who helped her to achieve her goal of homeownership.

As the insurgency in Iraq threatens the stability of the Shiite-led government there, only 18 percent of Americans think the Iraq War was worth the costs, according to a new poll.
The CBS/New York Times poll asked if the costs of the Iraq invasion, including monetary and loss of American lives, were worth it. A record 75 percent of those surveyed said that it wasn’t worth the costs, up from 67 percent in November 2011 (just before the final withdrawal of US troops) and 45 percent in August 2003, five months after the invasion began.
“Our 2003 invasion of Iraq should be a warning that military force sometimes transforms a genuine problem into something worse. The war claimed 4,500 American lives and, according to a mortality study published in a peer-reviewed American journal, 500,000 Iraqi lives,” Nicholas Kristoff wrote in a New York Times op-ed. “Linda Bilmes, a Harvard expert in public finance, tells me that her latest estimate is that the total cost to the United States of the Iraq war will be $4 trillion.”
The survey released Monday found that 63 percent of Republicans and 79 percent each of independents and Democrats didn’t think the war was worth the cost.

State Eyes Regs For Jetpack Water Rentals
Often worn on the operator’s back, the devices use water jets to lift a rider as much as 30 feet above the water. While the operators provide extensive training to the renters before they ever hit the water, the thrill rides can pose a danger to both riders and bystanders. In certain instances, they can also cause environmental and property damage, and pose a disruption to other boaters. Thus far, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Hawaii and some west coast states have enacted laws regulating jetpack use and Maryland could soon follow suit.

BALTIMORE – A United Methodist Church appeals panel has overturned the church's decision to defrock a pastor who presided over his son's same-sex wedding ceremony and said he would perform other gay marriages if asked.
A nine-person church appeals panel issued an opinion Tuesday reversing a lower church court decision.
The church suspended Frank Schaefer, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, last year for officiating his son's 2007 wedding. The church then defrocked Schaefer because he wouldn't promise never to preside over another gay ceremony.

These are the hallmarks of the emerging American police state: where police officers, no longer mere servants of the people entrusted with keeping the peace, are part of an elite ruling class dependent on keeping the masses corralled, under control, and treated like suspects and enemies rather than citizens.

Nightmare Nanny Won't Leave Home, Family Says

Marcela and Ralph Bracamonte, who have three children, told CBS Los Angeles they've tried everything, including legal measures, to get the woman to leave their home in Upland in San Bernardino County.
The Bracamontes said the first couple of months with Diane Stretton were fine, but then the 64-year-old woman stopped working and complained of health issues.
