Suspect(s): Jason Vinckx, 39, of West Greenshire Court in Claymont, Delaware

Resume: Detectives from the Delaware State Police Burglary Squad at Troop 2 have arrested Jason Vinckx, of Claymont, for his involvement in a series of burglaries which date back to May 15th.

For an unknown reason, Vinckx primarily targeted the Wilmington restaurant Mr. Pasta on Philadelphia Pike. He hit this place on 8 separate occasions and stole money. Aside from this eatery, Vinckx also struck the other locations listed above. He simply broke into the businesses by damage an exterior door or window and mainly looked for cash.

Approximately one week ago, Troop 1 patrol officers stopped Vinckx off of Marsh Road as he was riding through area shopping centers in a suspicious manner. Although he was not charged, patrol officers shared this intelligence with burglary detectives. A mug shot of Jason Vinckx was then compared with surveillance video at several of the burglary scenes and a positive match was noted.

Armed with an arrest warrant, last evening detectives responded to Overlook Colony and located the suspect at his girlfriend’s residence on 3rd Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 1 for processing. He was linked to 12 separate incidents and charged with 49 total burglary related offenses (comprised of both felonies and misdemeanors). He was committed to the Howard Young correctional Institute in lieu of an $82,400.00 secured bond.
