Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi Lies -- Marco Rubio Calls Them

Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi Defense: It Depends on What the Meaning of ‘Lied’ Is

Bill Clinton’s famous defense, “It depends upon what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is,” was not a Heideggerian musing. It was the most obvious example of the linguistic trapdoors that the Clintons regularly install to slither out of countless corners. Now, following Marco Rubio’s charge during last week’s Republican debate that Hillary Clinton lied about the Benghazi attacks, Clinton’s defenders are highlighting those escape hatches — and using them as evidence of her honesty.

“Last week, Hillary Clinton went before a committee,” Rubio said at the debate:

She admitted she had sent e-mails to her family saying, “Hey, this attack at Benghazi was caused by al-Qaeda-like elements.” She spent over a week telling the families of those victims and the American people that it was because of a video. And yet the mainstream media is going around saying it was the greatest week in Hillary Clinton’s campaign. It was the week she got exposed as a liar.

The next morning Rubio faced a testy Charlie Rose, who goggled at the charge (“You called Hillary Clinton a liar, senator.”), then tried to shift the blame to fluid CIA intelligence. Rubio stood by his comments and added: “There was never, ever any evidence that [the attack] had anything to do with a video.”

Drivers with disabilities face big frustrations

Number of Marylanders who receive disability parking plates, placards skyrockets

Parking reserved for drivers with disabilities is supposed to make life a little easier, but sometimes that's not the case.

Donna Conneally, of Bel Air, found an angry handwritten note placed on the windshield of her van that read: "You are an inconsiderate (expletive), (expletive). Move this piece of (expletive) and save a parking place for other people you (expletive)."

"I was so upset. My sisters thought I was going to cry. I went home and I didn't leave the house for a week," Conneally said.

Conneally has been in a wheelchair for four years. She got the nasty note when she parked in a spot for disabled drivers but was forced to also use another space so she could get in and out. Finding parking is one of her biggest frustrations.

"I will go to stores, turn around and come home if there's not a place for me to park and I can't get out," Conneally said.

Part of the problem may be what the 11 News I-Team discovered: the number of people with disability parking plates or placards has skyrocketed. This year alone, the state issued more than 199,000 permanent and temporary placards. That's more than double the number issued 10 years ago.

Should the ‘R-word’ be banned on attire at schools? One parent thinks so

When Jared Hautamaki brought his 5-year-old son to school in Silver Spring, Md., he immediately noticed that the school’s principal wore a burgundy-and-gold polo shirt bearing the name and logo of Washington’s National Football League team, the Redskins.

“As a native parent, that’s really, really offensive,” Hautamaki recalls telling the leader of Highland Elementary School in Montgomery County.

Hautamaki has since testified before the county school board, started a petition drive and stirred community debate about what constitutes offensive attire at school. He is calling on county school officials to ban students and staff in the district from wearing clothing with the name or logo of sports teams with Native American mascots, including Washington’s NFL team.

Sheriff Clarke: Obama ‘Is Hallucinating If He Thinks He Has Improved Race Relations in America’

As for President Barack Obama’s claim that his presidency has helped “mobilize America on behalf of issues of racial disparity,” Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. said the opposite is true and Obama is “hallucinating if he thinks he has improved race relations in Ameirca.”

On Hannity on Tuesday, part of the discussion focused on race relations in America under Obama. The host, Sean Hannity, and guests Sheriff Clarke and Geraldo Rivera agreed that race relations had become worse under the current administration.

“But as for President Obama, he is hallucinating if he thinks he has improved race relations in America,” said Sheriff Clarke. “The polling shows otherwise. He's delusional if he really believes that.”

“Look, race relations have always been tenuous in America,” said the sheriff. “Slavery and discrimination have left an ugly scar on the soul of America, but that scar has been healing over the years.”

“President Obama came along with sandpaper, rubbed it raw, and then poured salt in it to inflame it for political gain,” said Sheriff Clarke. “He doesn't believe that and neither does anybody else.”

Citing Cost to Taxpayers, Cities and States Tackle Obesity

More than 35 percent of Arkansas adults are obese, making it the heaviest state in the nation. Gov. Asa Hutchinson looked at those numbers and saw two problems: an increased risk of all sorts of health challenges, and an increased burden on taxpayers.

Armed with data about the devastating effects of obesity, Hutchinson, a Republican, last month launched a 10-year plan to combat the problem in his state, from tightening nutritional standards in schools to creating more walkable communities and improving access to affordable, healthy foods.

“I’m a conservative,” Hutchinson said. “I’m concerned about tax dollars as well as good health. There’s a consequence to the taxpayer because of bad health habits.”

Arkansas isn’t the only state to take on obesity this year. Governors in New York, Georgia and Tennessee have all announced plans to combat high rates of obesity among their citizens.

Nationwide, a third of all adults—78 million—are obese, up nearly 50 percent since 1990, according to Health Intelligence, a health data analysis site. The top 10 heaviest states are in the South and the Midwest, according to a new report by the State of Obesity, a project of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Trust for America’s Health, an advocacy and research group based in Washington, D.C.

The "War On Terror" Is The Hoax Foundation Of The Police/Spy State

The “war on terror” was a hoax. Americans were deceived by policymakers, who are pursuing a hegemonic agenda. The American people were too trusting and too gullible and, consequently, Americans were easily betrayed by Washington and by the presstitute media.

The consequences of the deceit, gullibility, and betrayal are horrendous for Americans, for millions of peoples in the Middle East, Africa, Ukraine, and for Washington’s European vassals.

The consequences for Americans are an aborted Constitution, a police/spy state and rising resentment and hatred of America around the world.

The consequences for peoples in Somolia, Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Palestine, and Ukraine have been massive deaths and dislocations, infrastructure destruction, internal conflicts, birth defects, invasions, bombings, drones. Millions of peoples have been murdered by Washington’s pursuit of hegemony, and millions have been turned into refugees.

The consequences for Washington’s European vassals is that the millions of refugees from Washington’s wars are now overruning Europe, causing social and political discord and threatening the European political parties that enabled, and participated in, Washington’s massive war crimes in eight countries.

The populations of the eight countries and Washington’s vassals are stuck with theconsequences of Washington’s evil, vicious, and illegal actions. And Americans are stuck with the police/spy state and militarized police who murder three Americans each day and brutalize countless others.

Taxing by the Mile, Not the Gallon

SALEM, Oregon — Evan Burroughs plopped into his 1996 Subaru Outback and pointed to a green plastic box tucked below the steering column. It blinked once. As Burroughs eased the car out of the parking lot and drove toward the highway, the box kept track of his speed and braking, but most importantly, of how many miles he drove.

The green box, part of a pilot program, sends the data to a private contractor like a GPS device manufacturer, which reports the miles to Oregon, which calculates Burroughs’ tax bill—1.5 cents per mile.

As revenue from the standard per gallon gas tax diminishes, states are looking for other ways to pay for the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges. California recently authorized its own mileage tax pilot project. Between 2008 and 2014, at least 19 states considered 55 measures related to mileage-based fees, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Vermont and Washington enacted bills to study per-mile fees in 2012.

But Oregon is leading the way. Its experiment, OreGO, is the first that involves ordinary citizens. Other states have been watching closely since the program began July 1.

“It’s kind of like playing a computer game, but with real stuff,” said Burroughs, 56, who obviously gets a kick out of seeing data detailing his driving habits.

Complications From Tummy Tucks Surpass Other Cosmetic Surgeries

Tummy tucks cause more major complications than other types of cosmetic surgery, researchers report.

The risk is even higher among patients who have a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) in combination with other types of cosmetic surgery, according to the new findings.

"Although the overall incidence of major complications is low, such complications can leave a potentially devastating cosmetic outcome and pose a significant financial burden on the patient and surgeon," the study authors wrote.

For the study, researchers analyzed data from 2008 to 2013 from an insurance program that covers cosmetic surgery complications.

Major complications occurred in 4 percent of tummy tucks, compared with 1.4 percent of other types of cosmetic surgery, the study found. Most common major complications were hematomas (collection of blood outside blood vessels), infections, blood clots and lung-related problems.

Edmonson did not go into specific details, saying that nothing was more important than "the integrity of the case."

A "Zero Tolerance" Police State

I’ve almost become numb to horrendous videos like these...

It seems like a new shocking police abuse video sweeps the nation almost every week. These viral videos help bring a small dose of accountability to government employees. And they don’t like it one bit.

The unjustified violence isn’t what really upsets them. They’re upset because they can’t operate with near total impunity anymore. The Internet and proliferation of smartphones have made it much harder for the government and mainstream media to sweep inconvenient incidents under the rug.

This is why some states, most notoriously Florida, are abusing outdated eavesdropping laws to harass people who attempt to film the police.

It’s all part of a long trend. The government will always try to shield itself from the fallout from its behavior. Another favorite tactic is to simply declare troublesome information “classified” or to withhold it because of “national security,” a vague and misused term.

Who's Burning Black Churches? Oh.

Here we go again: another liberal narrative burned to a crisp.

Over a two-week period in October, an arsonist targeted seven churches in the St. Louis area — including several in Black Lives Matter protest hotspot Ferguson, Missouri.

The Atlantic magazine, invoking the "long history of terrorism against black churches in America," lamented that the crime spree had been "slow to get the same attention" in the local and national media as another string of church arsons that occurred earlier this summer.

Reminder: Several of those hyped hate crimes against "black churches" had been committed by black suspects; a significant number of the "black churches" were, in fact, white churches; and the complex motives behind the crimes included mental illness, vandalism and concealment of theft.

Reminder: The same hyperventilators who stoked fears about this summer's church incidents had also stoked hysteria about the 1990s black church arson "epidemic" that fell apart under scrutiny and ended with USA Today admitting that "analysis of the 64 fires since 1995 shows only four can be conclusively shown to be racially motivated."

Undaunted, agitators did their best to fan the flames over the latest alleged wave of race-based black church burnings in October.

Can You ID Armed Bank Robbery Suspect?

77% of Two-Year-Olds Now Use Mobile Devices on a Daily Basis

There is no doubt that the pace of technological development we’ve seen in recent years has been both amazing, and frightening. It’s certainly made our lives easier, but no one can ignore the fact that these developments are happening faster than the human race can adapt to them. Predictably, this has spawned a widespread fear of technology in our culture

These fears must be prolific. If they weren’t, then Hollywood would have never made a fortune on movie franchises like The Terminator and The Matrix, and TV shows like Battlestar Galactica. Clearly, there are plenty of people in our society who are deeply afraid of the direction that modern technology is lurching towards.

However, for all their bluster about robots and AI taking over the human race, I don’t think these people are seriously prepared to do anything about it. They may say that they’ll never submit to the comfort and convenience of technologies that dehumanize them, but to be perfectly honest, I think that many of them have already acquiesced.

In fact, when it comes to taking care of our children, the majority of the population is already outsourcing their child rearing responsibilities to the machines. We didn’t notice this development, because it didn’t arrive in the way that pop culture prepared us for. Rather than being brutally subjugated by robot overlords, we’ve been conquered by consumer electronics.

Md. Obamacare enrollment starts this week

While this year’s Obamacare enrollments in Maryland should be smoother, users – especially those on the Eastern Shore –may find that rates have gone up, while options have become more limited.

Sunday, Nov. 1 was the first day of open enrollment for the 2016 insurance year on the Maryland Health Connection, the state-run online insurance exchange set up under the guidelines of the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare.

According to state data, nearly 123,000 Maryland residents purchased insurance via the system for the current year. Another 166,000 used the system to enroll in Medicaid. Of that total, 3,461 were in Worcester.

The basic concept of the ACA’s insurance exchanges is that private insurance companies offer plans, which must qualify for a certain level of cost-effectiveness under federal guidelines, through the exchange to citizens who are not offered a qualifying plan from their employer.

American Police State: Cops Have Killed 1,000 People So Far This Year in U.S.

Monday night marked the passing of 1,000 people killed by police in the U.S. this year. Although officers claim these killings were justified, video evidence and witness statements often contradict the official narrative.

In contrast, 105 law enforcement officers have died since the beginning of the year. Last year, the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund reported 117 officer fatalities. Instead of waging a fictitious war on cops, officer fatalities have actually been declining since 2007 and 2001, which reported 192 and 241 deaths respectively.

According to KilledByPolice.net, police in the U.S. have killed at least 1,000 people this year and 1,108 people last year. Although The Guardian has only counted 960 deaths, it appears that the British newspaper is not quite up-to-date. But according to The Guardian’s preliminary investigation, approximately 1,100 people will die at the hands of police officers before the end of the year. And not all of them will be justified.

On the evening of August 26, three Santa Clara County sheriff’s deputies allegedly beat a mentally ill man to death in a California jail. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder with a history of mental illness, Michael James Tyree, 31, was waiting to be transferred to a 24-hour adult treatment program when deputies Matthew Farris, Jereh Lubrin, and Rafael Rodriguez entered his cell and assaulted Tyree for roughly 20 minutes as he begged for mercy.

Letter To The Editor 11-7-15

So…I'm not one to "bitch and complain" (too much), but I just need to vent!! Sorry this is sorta long. So...I went to Wal-Mart this morning to get some stuff. I noticed this lady was staring at me in the same aisle I was in. No biggie. I moved to the next aisle and here she comes. Again…STARING!! So now I'm like "what is her problem"?! I was partially annoyed, partially nervous. I finish up my shopping and head to the check out line. Guess who is there ahead of me in line…this same lady!! She turns around and starts staring again. WTH?! Now I start playing with my phone so I don't have to look at her. Finally, she says "I want to apologize for staring at you, but you look just like my daughter who recently passed away." DOH!! I felt like an idiot and felt really bad after that. I gave her my condolences. She says "Thank you...but I have a favor to ask. I know it's weird and I understand if you don't want to, but can you just give me a hug and say 'Bye Mama' to me?"...WHAT?! Inside I am like NO WAY?!??! But, understanding grief the way that I do, I went ahead and did it. She smiles, thanks me, and leaves. The cashier rings up my stuff and the total comes out to $100.84. I knew something wasn't right, because it should have been around $40 or so. The cashier then tells me that my total was included with my MOM's stuff. WHAT?!?! She said, "Your mom said you were paying for her last few items along with your things". I told her that the woman was most definitely NOT my mom. She said, well I saw you hug her and heard you call her "mama". I freaked out...I flew out of the store looking for this crazy lady!! I see her loading up her car…she saw me and jumped in her car, I got to her just as she was putting her leg in, and I started pulling her leg...just like I'm pulling yours right now!! hahahahahahaha!!!!
OK…I couldn't resist…a friend posted this on her wall and she got me GOOD, so I had to share it. Have A Great Saturday!!!

Hillary Rodham Clinton: The mistress of deception and her self-inflicted wounds

The self-inflicted wounds of Hillary Rodham Clinton just keep manifesting themselves. She has two serious issues that have arisen in the past week; one is political and the other is legal. Both have deception at their root.

Her political problem is one of credibility. We know from her emails that she informed her daughter Chelsea and the then-prime minister of Egypt within 12 hours of the murder of the U.S. ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, that he had been killed in Benghazi by Al Qaeda. We know from the public record that the Obama administration’s narrative blamed the killings of the ambassador and his guards on an anonymous crowd’s spontaneous reaction to an anti-Mohammad video.

Over this past weekend we learned that her own embassy staff in Tripoli told her senior staff in Washington the day after the killings that the video was not an issue, and very few Libyans had seen it. We also know from her emails that the CIA informed her within 24 hours of the ambassador’s murder that it had been planned by Al Qaeda 12 days before the actual killings.

Nevertheless, she persisted in blaming the video. When she received the bodies of Ambassador Stevens and his three bodyguards at Andrews Air Force base three days after their murders, she told the media and the families of the deceased assembled there that the four Americans had been killed by a spontaneous mob reacting to a cheap 15-minute anti-Mohammad video.

EPA and Corps’ Water Rule Puts Property Rights at Stake

Congress appears to be stepping up to the plate to kill the Environmental Protection Agency and Army Corps of Engineers’ water rule (known as the “waters of the United States” or WOTUS rule) – they just need to bring it home by sending legislation to the president.

In doing so, Congress will be protecting Americans from this environmental regulatory overreach that is an attack on property rights and bad for the environment.

The rule has a number of problems. Among them:

It centralizes water policy in Washington, even though the Clean Water Act clearly protects the role and responsibility of states. States need to play a critical role because they are in the best position to determine the environmental needs of their waters.

It is expansive in what the agencies consider to be waters that can be regulated by the federal government (i.e. jurisdictional waters), covering almost any type of water, from certain ditches to “streams” that are usually just dry land but hold water after heavy rain.

By deeming more waters to be “jurisdictional,” property owners will be required to secure far more permits for ordinary activities such as farming and building homes. Since the costs to secure permits can be excessive, property owners may simply choose not to engage in some of the activities at all.

The rule is so vague that property owners will be “walking on egg shells” and may be wise to assume that unless expressly included in the agencies’ narrow (and limited) exemptions from regulation, a water is a jurisdictional water.

Legislators appear to be well aware of the major problems with the rule.

Rubio's New Billionaire Backer Has Gay Marriage Agenda

The news last week that Paul Singer, billionaire Republican fundraiser and unabashed advocate of same-sex marriage, will support Marco Rubio for president has drawn mixed reviews from state and national pro-family activists.

As Rubio rises in state and national polls, new scrutiny is being made of his positions and supporters.

A billionaire hedge fund manager, Singer has been a major GOP donor – and has made quite clear that his priority issue has been support of gay rights in the Republican Party. Singer and his network of donors have steered millions to GOP candidates at the federal and state level who backed same-sex marriage.

In a 2013 interview with the Washington Post, Singer explained his position: "I believe marriage equality is critical to the future of individual liberty and the strength of the American family, and the Republican Party should stand for both.”

Rubio has said publicly he opposes same-sex marriage and is strongly pro-life.

When Collapse Is Cheaper And More Effective Than Reform

Collapse begins when real reform becomes impossible.

We all know why reforms fail: everyone whose share of the power and money is being crimped by reforms fights back with everything they've got.

Reforms that can't be stopped by the outright purchase of politicos are watered down in committee, and loopholes wide enough for jumbo-jets of cash to fly through are inserted.

The reform quickly becomes "reform"--a simulacrum that maintains the facade of fixing what's broken while maintaining the Status Quo. Another layer of costly bureaucracy is added, along with hundreds or thousands of pages of additional regulations, all of which add cost and friction without actually solving what was broken.

The added friction increases the system's operating costs at multiple levels. Practitioners must stop doing actual work to fill out forms that are filed and forgotten; lobbyists milk the system to eradicate any tiny reductions in the flow of swag; attorneys probe the new regulations for weaknesses with lawsuits, and the enforcing agencies add staff to issue fines.

None of this actually fixes what was broken; all these fake-reforms add costs and reduce whatever efficiencies kept the system afloat. Recent examples include the banking regulations passed in the wake of the 2008 meltdown and the ObamaCare Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Maryland officials say public safety compact to continue

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland officials say an initiative to enable qualified inmates from Baltimore to be released early after completing substance-abuse treatment will continue, even though an agreement with a nonprofit has expired.

Stephen Moyer, the state’s public safety and corrections head, said Friday the department will be able to carry on with the initiative known as the Public Safety Compact without the nonprofit it has been working with since 2008. The program requires inmates to participate in community re-entry initiatives.

Moyer says it’s a good program, but funding was stopped because it violated state contracting guidelines.

Obama Rejects Request To Suspend Keystone Pipeline Review

President Obama on Wednesday retained his authority to make the final call on the Keystone XL oil pipeline, rejecting pleas to delay the State Department’s review of the project and sparking a backlash among critics who say the administration’s decision-making process has been corrupted by politics.

State Department officials said late Wednesday afternoon they’ll ignore calls from the company proposing the project, energy giant TransCanada, because the review process has come too far to be stopped now. The decision all but guarantees Mr. Obama, who has sounded skeptical of Keystone’s merit and reportedly is leaning toward killing the pipeline, will be the one to decide whether the project moves ahead or is scrapped.

Environmentalists quickly praised the move, which seems to eliminate the possibility a potential Republican president — who surely would be more favorable to new domestic oil-and-gas projects than Mr. Obama — would be the one to decide Keystone’s fate.

“The process is fairly mature, and the secretary believes that, out of respect for that process and all the input that has gone into it, that it is the most appropriate thing to keep that process in place, to continue the review,” State Department spokesman John Kirby said, referring to Secretary of State John F. Kerry.

How Richard Nixon Created Hillary Clinton

As a young lawyer, she helped investigate Watergate. For the First Woman of American politics, those chickens are always coming home to roost.

Hill
ary Clinton’s Benghazi testimony, in all its layered meaning, overpowers cogent analysis and even neutral description. It was unsettling, strange, riveting—and without any true precedent: A front-runner for her party’s presidential nomination, and the first woman ever to be a serious contender for the job, interrogated, often with unconcealed hostility, for the better part of a day, with breaks for in-studio score-keeping, followed by postmortems, and spin on all sides. Even as committee Republicans took hard hits—“disturbing” (David Gergen on CNN), gripped in “psychosis” (David Brooks on PBS NewsHour)—conservatives dug in: “Hillary Clinton is corrupt, and vomits up lies,” Mark Steyn said on Hugh Hewitt’s radio program. “You can hear the contempt in her voice when she answers questions, she believes she is above questioning.”

Either way, it has been Hillary Clinton’s most vivid and accomplished public moment, eclipsing her solid performance in the first debate. Great politicians, Murray Kempton once observed, “are capable of as many roles as there are sins to commit.” Hillary proved herself the Mirren or Streep of the political witness stand—cast as defendant, an all-too familiar role in our politics. After so many years, both Clintons evoke many feelings, but the strongest is of déjà vu. And in Hillary’s case each new controversy or scandal or pseudo-scandal—we’re never sure— arrives trailing gusts of previous ones. We—and she—have been here before. Nothing about the Benghazi theater was routine, but it was familiar nevertheless. She brought along her troupe as well. There was David Kendall, the Washington lawyer whose collaboration dates back to the Whitewater investigations, seated behind her in the hearing room, impassive as ever. And there was Sidney Blumenthal, Hillary’s voluble e-mail buddy, not seen but quoted with almost comical zeal by Trey Gowdy and company.

More than 81,000 Illegal Migrant Children Placed In Communities Across U.S.

More than 81,000 unaccompanied minors have been released to sponsors inside the U.S. over last two years, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

The U.S.-Mexico border has experienced a surge in unaccompanied minors entering the country illegally over the past couple years. As the HHS data reveals, most of these unaccompanied minors have been relocated to states around the U.S.

Last fiscal year, which ended on September 30, 27,520 accompanied minors were placed with sponsors in the U.S. In FY 2014, the government placed another 53,518 unaccompanied minors throughout the U.S.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), which is part of HHS, has placed children in every state in the U.S., including the District of Columbia. States with the highest numbers of unaccompanied minors over the past two years include California (9,587), Florida (8,330), Georgia (3,075), Maryland (5,668), New Jersey (4,120), New York (8,570), North Carolina (2,897), Texas (10,618), and Virginia (5,563).

‘Don’t Lie!’: An Infuriated Ben Carson Blows Up at Media During News Conference Over Scholarship Story

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson blasted reporters Friday evening, contending the media had largely misreported a story about his claim to have been offered a West Point scholarship.

On Friday morning, Politico reported that Carson admitted to having “fabricated” a story about being offered a scholarship to attend West Point. That report was hotly contested and Politico ultimately amended it, later adding an editor’s note.

Carson was answering questions at a news conference when a reporter implied he said he received a full scholarship.

“I never said I received a full scholarship,” the retired neurosurgeon quipped back. “I never said — wait a minute, don’t lie! I never said I received a full scholarship. Nowhere did I say that.”

“There have been reports today—,” the reporter said.

“Politico, as you know, told a bold-faced lie,” Carson said. “They have been called out on it by The Washington Post and The New York Times and I’m sure there will be several others who call them out on that. Because there are actually some people with integrity in your business.”

Stockman believes that a global “debt super-cycle” that has been building for decades is now bursting, and he is convinced that the consequences for the U.S. and for the rest of the planet will be absolutely catastrophic. His findings are very consistent with what I have been writing about on The Economic Collapse Blog, and if Stockman is correct the times ahead of us are going to be exceedingly painful.

But right now, most people don’t seem to be in the mood to listen to these types of warnings. Even though there is a mountain of evidence that the global economyhas already plunged into recession, U.S. stocks had a great month in October, and so most Americans seem to think that the crisis has passed.

Of course the truth is that the stock market is not an accurate barometer of the economy and it never has been. Back in 2008, almost everything else started to go downhill before stocks did, and the same thing is happening once again. In a recent article, Stockman explained that stocks are surging to absolutely ridiculous levels even though corporate earnings are actually way down

At this point, 75% of S&P 500 companies have reported Q3 results, and earnings are coming in at $93.80 per share on an LTM basis. That happens to be 7.4% below the peak $106 per share reported last September, and means that the market today is valuing these shrinking profits at a spritely 22.49X PE ratio.

And, yes, there is a reason for two-digit precision. It seems that in the 4th quarter of 2007 LTM earnings came in at 22.19X the S&P 500 index price. We know what happened next!

Why do so many refuse to see the parallels?

This crisis is unfolding so similarly to 2008, and yet most of the “experts” are willingly blind.

Why Governments Aren’t All That Different from Street Gangs

At some point, you may have heard someone call the government a “gang of thieves writ large,” which is a generalization of a quote attributed to libertarian thinker Murray Rothbard. However, if you’re not familiar with the philosophy behind that quote, you might mistakenly believe that it is nothing more than a clever observation on the wasteful and corrupt nature of government. That’s because you may not be aware of the meaning of “writ large.” It’s synonymous with “clearly” or “obviously.” In reality, Rothbard wasn’t trying to make a clever statement. He was quite literally calling the government a gang.

Most people would have trouble wrapping their minds around that notion. Clearly there are differences between governments and gangs right? Agents of the state don’t lie, extort money, murder rivals, train and initiate uniformed enforcers, go to war with their neighbors, protect the integrity of their borders, enforce protection rackets, or conduct any other activities that aren’t permitted in their legal codes.

In case you didn’t detect my sarcasm, governments and gangs routinely engage in all of the activities I listed above. That’s because they are one in the same. The only significant differences between the two, is that gangs are usually smaller than governments, and their borders are a little more fluid.

If you still don’t believe me, you might have one last counter to my argument: Criminal gangs don’t protect people, or at least, not the average person that happens to reside in their territory. They’re only interested in their own profitable endeavors, and staying alive. By contrast, protecting the people is the cornerstone of every effective government.

Family Hires Attorney After Girl Punished for Hugging Classmate

OVIEDO, Fla. - The family of a girl who was given detention for hugging a classmate has hired an attorney.

In a news release from the attorney's office, Morgan & Morgan, Matt Morgan said the law firm was hired to help raise awareness about the issue.

The incident happened Monday at Jackson Heights Middle School in Oviedo.

"I'm definitely hoping that we're bringing light to this subject," said Kathy Fishbough, whose daughter, Ella, was punished. "I really didn't expect this."

Morgan said he believes that there may be policies in place that discourage children from being kind to one another.

"According to these alleged policies and procedures, a simple hug given to a friend in their time of need is apparently worthy of reprimand," the law office said in a statement. "We believe this conduct sends the wrong message to our children. They should be encouraged to be kind, not discouraged. The family hopes to bring awareness to this issue in an attempt to make our school systems a more compassionate and loving place for children to spend their days."

46,471: Drug Overdoses Killed More Americans Than Car Crashes or Guns

(CNSNews.com) - "Drug overdose deaths are the leading cause of injury death in the United States, ahead of motor vehicle deaths and firearms (deaths)," the Drug Enforcement Agency announced on Wednesday.

In 2013, the most recent year for which data is available, 46,471 people in the United States died from drug overdoses, and more than half of those deaths were caused by prescription painkillers and heroin.

That compares with the 35,369 who died in motor vehicle crashes and 33,636 who died from firearms, as tallied by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Sadly this report confirms what we’ve known for some time: drug abuse is ending too many lives while destroying families and communities,” Acting DEA Administrator Chuck Rosenberg said as he released the 2015 National Drug Threat Assessment.

“We must stop drug abuse before it begins by teaching young people at an even earlier age about its many dangers and horrors."

Kim Davis victory! New gov to drop clerk names from marriage licenses

The governor-elect in Kentucky – a conservative Republican who stunningly rallied from behind to defeat a powerful Democrat candidate, the state’s attorney general – says one of his first acts will be to formalize an accommodation for county clerks whose religious beliefs are being violated by demands they issue “same-sex marriage” licenses.

Matt Bevin on Friday confirmed he will work on a solution in a situation that came to a head for Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis when she refused an order from U.S. District Judge David Bunning to violate her faith and issue “same-sex marriage” licenses and he sent her to jail.

At Kentucky.com, AP reported Bevin “vowed to remove the names of county clerks from marriage licenses.”

Officials with Liberty Counsel, who have been representing Davis, and continue to fight her appeals at the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, said it is a clear victory for Davis.

Election over, 16 New Jersey sheriffs still double-dip

DOUBLES – Three-fourths of New Jersey sheriffs receive public pensions while drawing salaries.

This week’s election did nothing to change the fact that three-fourths of New Jersey sheriffs are double-dippers.

Assemblyman Gilbert “Whip” Wilson joined the ranks with his victory in Camden County on Tuesday. The Democrat can look forward to public paychecks exceeding $195,000 a year – $144,753 in sheriff’s salary and $50,383 in pension as a retired Camden city cop.

His Republican opponent – Lewis “Lou” Hannon – would have also been a double-dipper if elected. Hannon receives a $70,985 pension, also as a Camden city police retiree.

Wilson and Hannon were vying for the post being vacated by Charles Billingham. For nine years as sheriff, Billingham raked in county paychecks plus his $74,479 a year pension as a retired Washington Township policeman.

Houston Repeals “LGBT Discrimination Law” That Allowed Transgendered People to Use Any Public Bathroom They Want

Yes, there were other provisions of Houston’s HERO nondiscrimination city law, but the one that got the entire kit and caboodle repealed by a pretty high margin of voters involved one very, very simple premise: the idea that people who were born with girl parts use a female restroom, and people who were born with male parts use a male restroom.

Results showed 61% of voters said no to HERO, while only 39% voted to keep it.
By the way, proponents of this law outspent opponents THREE to ONE in advertising, and still it did not pass.

As Buzzfeed reported earlier this week, most voters in Houston didn’t even realize there were other provisions to the law or that it had much to do with discrimination per se.

Getting down to brass tacks, all people talked about was whether or not transgendered individuals, and in particular men who live and dress like women, would be allowed to use the women’s restrooms in public places in town.
“I haven’t heard it bans discrimination,” Cory Alters told BuzzFeed News as he waited for the bus on a blustery Friday afternoon. With four days remaining before the vote, Alters said he had only heard that the measure required letting men and transgender women into women’s bathrooms.
Bathrooms are the hot-ticket item — that’s what everybody is talking about,” he said. “I don’t want girls in my bathroom, and girls don’t want guys in their bathroom.”
One block down Travis Street, 44-year old Donna L., who refused to give her full last name, said the same: “I heard people saying pedophiles would be going into restrooms. That is the main thing everybody is talking about. I hadn’t heard anything else.”

Founding Fathers Added 2nd Amendment to Protect Us a Government that Would Turn Against Us

Watch Ben Swann rip apart the all the gun control pundits who have been casually rewriting the 2nd Amendment.

We’ve heard ridiculous claims that the 2nd Amendment is “outdated” or worthless because the government is armed to the teeth far and away over the citizenry. We’ve heard semantic arguments that the 2nd Amendment never meant for “individuals” to protect themselves but was only for “militias” (as if a militia is not comprised of individuals).

The bottom line?
“The Second Amendment is not about hunting, or even just defense of your own home,” Swann says. “It was written by men who ultimately believed that governments and armies would turn on their own people.”

HISTORICAL COMMENTS BY GEORGE CHEVALLIER 11-7-15

National Guard

The local National Guard was organized in 1901 by Captain Louis P. Coulbourne, a veteran of the ranks of the Regular Army. He kept a saloon inSalisbury when the law permitted it and a clothing store onMain Street in Salisbury when it did not. At this period,Salisbury was legally dry and the captain was in the clothing business.

Salisbury was selected to be Company I of the First Maryland Infantry.
By 1904, the First Lieutenant was a prominent local lawyer named L. Atwood Bennett. Another prominent Salisburian from 1904 on was Amos W. W. Woodcock. He joined as an enlisted man in 1904 and rose to the rank of General before his military career was over.

The first engagement was a maneuver near where the Battle of Bull Run was in Virginia. Salisbury’s Company I left Salisbury by train for the trip. It must have been quite raucous as the company’s quartermaster-sergeant brought his personal pistol and took pot shots at the lights in the train car. Due to his condition, he didn’t hit any. The captain didn’t seem to mind and actually thought the noise might attract attention to the company, which it seemed he desired. They had made quite a production of marching the thirty-odd men in the company from their headquarters at the corner of East Church and Williams Streets to the train station which was probably not more than 100 yards away. This building burned down in 1906 and left Company I without a home until the New Armory was built in 1915 on S. Division St. where the library is today.

The first real mission of Company I was their trip to the Mexican border in 1915 during the time when Poncho Villa was causing such problems that the Federal Government thought American troops would quell the disturbance. Company I didn’t stay down there very long, but long enough to further their training as a regular army unit. That training would become invaluable as they went to war in Europe during World War I.

When World War I ended, Company I came back to Salisbury and remained intact until World War II. At this time they became the 115th Infantry, part of Maryland’s 29th Division.

The Old Armory on S. Division St. moved out on Route 50 West on October 23, 1958. The Old Armory is now within the Wicomico County Library.

In 1965, another change was made in the organization. It became the 115th Military Police Company with the motor pool being attached to the 1229thLight Truck Company located in Crisfield, the support unit for the 115th.

A book could be written about the history of the National Guard inSalisbury. There has been many times where the Guard was activated for use around the local area. They assisted during catastrophes such as hurricanes and to quell things during the many riots during the 1960’s. The have been a vital and integral part of the community for over a hundred years. They are always there. Let’s just hope we don’t need them.

Welfare Mom Has 52 Kids/Grand-kids: A victim of Leftist Deceptions, Promises and Betrayals

The owner of a chain of Detroit abortion clinics was caught on video cautioning an audience. A woman identified as Renee Chelian said she feared the cover of the New York Times might alert the public that they used garbage disposals to get rid of the carcasses of aborted babies. Ms. Chelian does not realize that abortionists have nothing to fear from the New York Times nor the rest of the mainstream media. The MSM continues to do everything in its power to hide Planned Parenthood’s house of horrors from the public.

Aborted babies are what the Left brings to the altar as a sacrifice in worship of the earth to save the planet and poke a finger in the eye of Jesus. Make no mistake about it folks. The Left despises Jesus.

Therefore, the Left gives abortionists (Planned Parenthood) free rein to do whatever; kill babies born alive, sell baby heads for profit and so on. No PP behavior is too brutal or extreme as long as 3000 babies a day continue to be murdered in America funded by taxpayers.

Isn’t it interesting that it is not enough that the left has free rein to engage in anti-God activities? They are hell-bent on forcing Christians and taxpayers to approve and fund them. PP does not need the $500 million of taxpayer funding it receives annually.

Anyone who dares to criticize PP’s Nazi practices is dragged by the MSM into the cyber public square and branded with a “W” on their forehead for being a part of a bogus War on Women. There is no war on women, folks. It is simply another Leftist/Democrat marketing tactic to deceive, instill victim mindsets and divide Americans for political gain.

Duped by the MSM and PP, young women parrot the lie that PP is their only source of health-care. Women do not need PP. The truth is numerous health clinics around the country provide more services than PP.

Debt ceiling lifted, and the same day, debt jumps $339B

The U.S. national debt jumped $339 billion on Monday, the same day President Obama signed into law legislation suspending the debt ceiling.

That legislation allowed the government to borrow as much as it wants above the $18.1 trillion debt ceiling that had been in place.

The website that reports the exact tally of the debt said the U.S. government owed $18.153 trillion last Friday, and said that number surged to $18.492 on Monday.

The increase reflects an increasingly common pattern that can be seen in the total U.S. debt level when the debt ceiling is reached.

Seattle’s Pike Place Market Cleaning Off Gum Wall For First Time In 20 Years

While many businesses would be vigilant in cleaning chewed gum off the walls, Pike Place Market in Seattle has been lax on that front for 20 years… on purpose: the “gum wall” below the market has become a beloved character as visitors have passed by through the years. It’s time for a fresh start, however, as the Market says it’ll be scraping off gobs of hardened gum next week.

Diemel attends Rosalyn Carter Institute for Caregiving national summit

Liddy Diemel from MAC Inc. met former first lady Rosalyn Carter at the recent Rosalyn Carter Institute for Caregiving’s national summit.

SALISBURY -- Liddy Diemel represented MAC Inc., the Area Agency on Aging, at the recent Rosalyn Carter Institute for Caregiving’s national summit.  Nearly 150 caregivers, representatives from caregiving support agencies and speakers from around the country and world, attended the summit, held at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Ga.

The theme of the program was “Supporting Those Who Support Others.”

Mrs. Carter spoke and greeted each representative at the summit.
Diemel called it an “exceptional experience listening and learning about the variety of evidence-based caregiver support programs working so well due to the RCI.”

At MAC, Diemel works with the Maryland Access Point program and is a case manager.

SSA Gone Wild

The Social Security Administration paid about $145,000 dollars in bonuses to 240 employees with conduct and discipline problems.

The agency’s inspector general said a little more than half of those employees were reprimanded. Less than half were suspended. And one employee was demoted.

The IG suggested SSA change its awards policy on employees who have certain conduct problems.

Neither SSA nor the Office of Personnel Management policy prevents the agency from giving awards to employees who have been disciplined.

Truth Revealed About ‘Razor Blade’ Found in Little Girl’s Hershey Bar

This past Sunday, Auburn, Massachusetts, police put out a Facebook notice urging parents to check their children’s Halloween candy after they got a report of an inch-long “metallic object” found inside a miniature Hershey chocolate bar wrapper.

That “metallic object” turned out to be a razor blade:

When detectives went to investigate the situation, hoping to find where it came from, they got a chance to talk with the little girl who made the initial report.

When police spoke with the eleven-year-old, however, she came clean about fabricating the whole story:

Republicans vs. The Media

For years, I have been begging Republicans to stand up to the mainstream media. The left has dominated the media for as long as I’ve been alive. Yet Republicans have consistently granted leftists in media the patina of legitimacy: they’ve appeared on their programs, answered their questions without quibble, and allowed the audience to believe that the questions themselves spring from a place of objectivity rather than a desire to harm Republicans.

The political damage has been near incalculable. In 2012, Clinton and George Stephanopoulos singlehandedly redirected the presidential election narrative by asking Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney about banning contraceptives — a policy that no Republican had advocated at any point during the campaign. A few months later, CNN’s in-house Barack Obama serviceperson Candy Crowley won the second presidential debate by wrongly telling Romney that Obama had labeled Benghazi a terrorist attack.

So why haven’t Republicans fought back? Because Republicans have had a collective action problem. For each Republican willing to label George Stephanopoulos a political hack, there’s a camera-loving John McCain willing to grant Stephanopoulos the premise of neutrality for a bit of airtime. For every Republican willing to ask CNBC moderators about their history of leftist questioning, there’s a John Kasich willing to praise the moderators as open-minded and fair.
