Salisbury News will deliver a series of photos from the Fights on Friday Night but I wanted to share a few of the before and after shots. I was able to capture a shot of Rosado trying to sneak out of the building where he said, how do we get out of here, I don't want anyone to see me.
Stay tuned Folks, there's lots more to come.
Artist Of Famed Obama Poster Arrested For Tagging
Two warrants were issued for Fairey on Jan. 24 after police determined he'd tagged property in two locations with graffiti based on the Andre the Giant street art campaign from his early career, Officer James Kenneally said. One of the locations was the railroad trestle by the landmark Boston University bridge over the Charles River, police said.
Fairey, 38, of Los Angeles, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Brighton District Court, said Jake Wark, a spokesman for the Suffolk District Attorney. Wark said Fairey would also be arraigned on a default warrant related to a separate graffiti case in the Roxbury section of Boston.

Speak Out Against Stimulus Bill
Turncoats!
Three turncoat Republican Senators intend to vote for the massive Spendulus bill (also known as the 'Bankrupt America Act'). Here's a general email address (info@gop.com ), the Chairman's email address (chairman@gop.com ), a contact form and a script you can paste in. Call 202.863.8500 or email now.
Dear Michael Steele and GOP officials: As contributors to the GOP at federal, state and local levels, we respectfully but forcefully request that all GOP dollars be withheld from any future campaigns involving Senators Collins, Snowe and Specter. Their disgraceful conduct in saddling our descendants with more than a trillion dollars in debt, with no discernible benefits for the vast majority of American taxpayers, is an outrage. We represent a vast network of grassroots conservatives, organized over the Internet, that intend to stop the Democrats' efforts to build up the size of government and bankrupt our country. Please respond to this request. We would like to know where the GOP stands on this disgraceful conduct that is an assault on us, our children and grandchildren. Sincerely, [Name]
Here's the story.
The three Republican senators who plan to support the measure are Olympia Snowe of Maine, Susan Collins of Maine and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania. Collins and Specter spoke in favor of the agreement on the Senate floor Friday night.
"The American people want us to work together. They don't want to see us dividing along partisan lines on the most serious crisis confronting our country," Collins said on the floor.
Actually, dimwit, the American people don't want you to bankrupt the country with a thousand-page pork-laden bill that rips off taxpayers and saddles our descendents with massive amounts of debt.

WAS A LOCAL LAWYER’S CASE AGAINST THE CITY OF SALISBURY “DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE”?
On February 5, the Wicomico Circuit Court threw out a case against the City of Salisbury by someone named Henry L. Vinyard. The on-line report lists it as an “other tort” suit. That must mean it was not for a car crash. The yellow pages list “Henry L. Vinyard” as a lawyer in Salisbury.
Inquiring minds want to know is this a suit by that lawyer and what was the case about? Whatever it was must have happened before January 17, 2008, when the case was filed. Why was it “dismissed with prejudice”? And why wasn’t the City’s attorney in the case from Paul Wilber’s law firm?

Origins of Black History Month
December 19, 1875 - April 3, 1950

The New York Public Library.
The story of Black History Month begins with historian Carter G. Woodson. Woodson was passionate about black history. His passion, however, evolved in the most unlikely place. While working at a coal mine when he was twenty, the daily conversation of the black Civil War veterans often focused on interesting historical facts not recorded in history books. Woodson realized that despite the constantly evolving history of the African American experience, documentation was sparse. Woodson’s enthusiasm led him to college where he earned a bachelor degree in European history and a Ph.D. in history. As a new graduate, he managed to earn a living as a high school teacher and later as a professor of history at Howard University. Yet, his desire to document black history remained. He co-founded and financed the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History in 1915 with the lofty goal for it to both publish and fund research and writing projects about black history.
After the organization received substantial funding, Woodson was able resign from Howard and dedicate all of his time to the Association. Through the organization, he established a home study program, directed the study of African American history in schools, hired researchers to search the international archives, and lastly, he founded the Associated Publishers. It published books and resources about black history. The Association also published the quarterly publication the Journal of Negro History, which was distributed throughout the world.
In 1926, Woodson finally came across an idea that would forever associate his name with Black History Month. Negro History Week, as it was called by the black fraternity Omega Psi Phi, was a week in February dedicated to celebrating the achievements of blacks. Their celebration was somewhat stagnant until Woodson offered to put the Association’s name behind the idea in February 1926. Woodson chose the second week in February because it marked the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. Through Woodson’s promotion of the celebration in the Journal of Negro History and the creation and distribution of kits for children, Negro History Week gained in popularity. In 1976, it evolved into Black History Month.

I'm all for conservation too -- but this is either bad reporting or idiot policy or both.
I just installed an energy efficient heat pump and if I want to cool my house and can pay my bill, I should be able to do so without this kind of nonesense, which is clearly an attempt to guilt those of us who aren't "green enough" to satisfy the nutcases who would have us living in caves and eating roots and worms if they had their way. Utility companies should just do the job their government-approved monopoly requires of them, rather than charge more for doing less (although that does seem to be especially in vogue these days, witness the Wall Street criminals who have taken down our economy and nobody in government seems terribly concerned that actual crimes might have been committed).
btw, I do conserve water, electric (68 degrees in winter is cheaper and healthier too), and I compost and use minimal yard chemicals. I do get weary of (as I think you'll agree) of the far-fringe environmental left who pigeon-hole us conservatives as a bunch of environment-destroying, non-thinking religious fanatics. They are of course mistaken in their conclusion -- as they are about most things.
Just my chance to vent a little and keep up the good work. I dont always agree with you, but at least your blog is the closest thing to a free press we have had since probably the American Revolution.

Seniors
Two businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store. As yet, the store wasn't ready, with only a few shelves set up.
One said to the other, 'I bet any minute now some senior is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling.' No sooner were the words out of his mouth when, sure enough, a curious senior walked to the window, had a peek, and in a soft voice asked "What are you sellin' here?"
One of the men replied sarcastically, "We're selling a-holes."
Without skipping a beat, the old timer said, "You're doing well. Only two left."
Seniors - don't mess with them!
