Uh, what in the world is going on here?

That humongous hard-fought debt ceiling deal that was supposed to settle things down in D.C. financially and politically seems to be doing precisely the opposite there and now around the world. And all within 48 hours.

Give Credit Where Credit Is Due

After the Salisbury Police contacted Mr. Robinson today, his Son was out taking down the stickers that were all over the Downtown area and I just happened to be there with my camera.

My hat is tipped to this young man for doing the right thing. Of course Sr. was nowhere to be found, as most clean up the dirty work for him. It's nice to see his Son being the bigger man.

'Grease' Actress Annette Charles dies at 63

Just a few months after her "Grease" co-star Jeff Conaway died, actress Annette Charles, known to "Grease" fans as Cha Cha, passed away at age 63, CNN has confirmed.

Her rep says that she died at her home in Los Angeles on Wednesday night due to complications from cancer. According to TMZ, she'd learned of her condition just a few months ago.

BREAKING NEWS: JUST A WARNING

My children were on their electric scooters about a half an hour ago and I was jogging behind them. They were a little bit ahead of me, but still pretty close and a small silver suv slowed. The man inside asked if they wanted a ride and my daughter said "no" and turned around to get back to me. We live in a neighborhood off of Crooked Oak Lane. There are several neighborhoods around here where children are outside playing. I doubt he was just trying to be nice because my daughters were on electric scooters in daylight and didn't look like they were in need of a ride. I just want to warn everyone to be on the look out.

Jury Finds Sect Leader Guilty Of Sexual Assault

San Angelo, Texas (CNN) -- A Texas jury on Thursday found polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs guilty of two counts of sexual assault on a child.

Jeffs, who represented himself after firing his defense team, remained stoic as the verdict was read. Jurors will decide his fate after hearing additional witness testimony in the penalty phase of the trial, which began Thursday evening.

No sooner did I tell the Mayor I'd start keeping tabs on what's going on down on the Plaza I ran across this gentleman drinking alcohol on one of the park benches. Mind you Folks, this guy stunk to high heaven as well.

If the Mayor ever had any conversations with Public Works he'd very quickly learn of all of the alcohol collected daily on the Plaza as well.

The homeless are urinating all over the place and while I'm paying some $7,000.00 a year in taxes, I'm NOT going to stand for it.

The Mayor may have blind eyes by claiming he hasn't seen anything, I will promise all of you this. I will be his eyes and ears, (since he can't seem to OPEN his) and will provide my findings right here on Salisbury News.

How Much Worse Can It Get

Well, I guess we should just start getting used to this kind of blight when the Mayor and City Council continue to remain blind as to what's going on right in front of their eyes.

Graffiti, stickers, trash, a stolen Welcome To Salisbury Sign, homeless living on the Downtown Plaza, prostitutes soliciting themselves in front of the Government Office Building.

The Mayor is too afraid of lawsuits from the homeless to do anything about it, stating they have a constitutional right to live wherever they want. UNBELIEVABLE! Yet the City can't afford to house the larger volume of homeless people on the streets every day because of his hero Obama and their liberal ways.

So, get used to this Folks because the pictures I provide simply don't lie.

In the last month and a half, The Intel Hub has received hundreds of credible tips from citizens who witnessed and or photographed domestic military/foreign movements within The United States.

While some of the reports can be written off as normal troop movements, the sheer amount of reports indicates something possibly more sinister.

To top it off, a large majority of military vehicles that have been spotted were not painted for desert conditions, rather they were sporting digital and city camouflage.

We now have reports and video evidence of multiple military convoys traveling in and around Portland Oregon.

This comes just days after The Intel Hub released photos sent to them by a concerned citizen that showed a military convoy of tanks, humvees, and jeeps, in the same type of camouflage and a week after multiple sightings of black helicopters throughout The United States.

Clyde Lewis, a veteran radio host, has had multiple callers report military movements seen in both Portland and Oregon City, Oregon.

As reported on Ground Zero, troop movements and or military movements have been reported on Ground Zero for several nights now. A caller phoned in that she witnessed that largest movement of Military vehicles, (Tanks, cannons, and other vehicles) through Portland and then southbound.
Another listener Jim sent us three known videos of this train From You Tube and the shots from witnesses are nothing short of breathtaking. Each video shows the movement of Military vehicles not painted for desert operations, but with digital or city camouflage. The question is where are these hundreds of vehicles going and for what reason?

Rate On 15-Year Mortgage Falls To Record Low

WASHINGTON (AP) - The average rate on a 15-year fixed mortgage has fallen to a record low, leading to an increase in refinancing applications. But cheaper loans are unlikely to lift the struggling housing market or boost the weak economy.

The rate on the 15-year loan, a popular refinancing option, dropped to 3.54 percent this week from 3.66 percent last week, Freddie Mac said Thursday. That's the lowest since the mortgage buyer began tracking it in 1991. Analysts say they believe it is lowest rate of all time.

The average rate on the 30-year fixed loan fell to a yearly low of 4.39 percent from 4.55 percent the previous week.

Bank Tries To Foreclose On Gas Station Owner For Being One Day Late With Mortgage Payment

A gas station owner in Florida's monthly mortgage payment bounced on October 12th. The next day he put the money required into the bank account. In November and December he tried to make his mortgage payments as normal, but BB&T wouldn't take his money. 10 months later, they still won't take it. Instead, they want to foreclose on his gas station. All for being one day late.

PENNSYLVANIA MAN CHARGED WITH THE ASSAULT OF A WOMAN ON INTERSTATE 83

(York, PA) Police have charged a Pennsylvania man with the assault of a woman on Interstate 83 in Baltimore County after rear-ending her vehicle.

The accused is Michael Henshaw, 30, of the 400 block of Old Stone Way in York, Pennsylvania. He is charged criminally with second degree assault, reckless endangerment and robbery. Additionally, he is charged with driving on a suspended, out-of-state license, reckless driving, negligent driving, and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.

On August 2, Maryland State Police issued a composite sketch of Henshaw and a description of his vehicle, which had sustained front end damage during the incident. After receiving numerous calls from residents who recognized the drawing, Maryland State Police investigators, assisted by Pennsylvania State Police in York, were able to locate Henshaw at his residence. Henshaw was taken into police custody without incident. Currently, he is being held at Central Booking in Pennsylvania, awaiting extradition to Maryland.

On Friday evening, July 29, 2011, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a woman was driving north on I-83, near York Road, when her vehicle was struck from behind. Both vehicles pulled over and both drivers exited their vehicles.

Henshaw, believed to be driving the Jeep at the time, allegedly pleaded with the woman and offered money to settle the incident without police involvement. When the woman attempted to dial 9-1-1 from her cell phone, Henshaw knocked her to the ground. He reportedly grabbed her phone, and assaulted her, punching her multiple times.

During the altercation, she was eventually able to break away. Once free, she ran back to her vehicle and fled the scene.

Bill Gordy Is History

Bill Gordy, Deputy Fire Chief of the Salisbury Fire department is history, gone, see ya.

While many have been awaiting such an announcement for many, many years, Bill Gordy is no longer in charge of the Volunteers. He resigned his position and the SFD is aggressively looking for his replacement from within.

This is a volunteer position and while we wish Bill Gordy well, the taxpayers can finally feel a sense of relief from the overspending and know the Good Ol' Boy system is finally done and over with.

Let's just hope the attention/funding now turns to the Salisbury Police Department instead.

Short-Term Yields Going Negative As BoNY Announces It Will Charge 13 bps Fee On Deposits

The stunner in this morning’s newsflow (the long, long overdue market collapse which is a much needed catalyst for QE3 should not surprise anyone), comes out of the WSJ which has just reported that the Bank of New York has informed institutional clients it will begin charging a fee of 13 bps on deposits in excess of 110% of the client’s monthly average. This is nothing short of outright terrorism to get everyone out of cash and into fiat-based ponzi products. Such as Short Term Bills. Indeed, as was reported earlier the 3 Month bill just hit zero. But you ain’t seen nothing yet. As Credit Suisse strategist Ira Jersey reports, courtesy of Bloomberg, “If this is true then we’re likely to see short-end interest rates actually go negative. By what degree depends on who else follows and how much money is involved.” Cue unpredictable consequences of a totally broken bond market. What happens next will likely make the market dislocations following Lehman like a breezy walk in the park.

Youth mob’s victim: Attackers “were laughing and making comments”

Jeremy Schenkel was trying to catch a train home when he became the first victim of last Friday night’s Center City youth mob attacks.

The 23-year-old Northeast Philadelphia resident had just left his job as a building engineer at the 1500 Locust Apartments around 9 p.m. and was walking north on 15th Street near Sansom Street.

It was a normal summer weekend night. People were out and about, but, overall, it was quiet, he said.
Then he saw a mob of young people running towards him. About two dozen males were out front and a large group of girls behind them, he said.

For a split second, he thought, “flash mob.” But the youths did not look angry.

“They were laughing and making comments,” he said. “I just figured they were a group of kids running around doing something stupid.”

He moved out of the way, trying to let the crowd pass. A shirtless youth led the pack.

“One of them said something to get my attention, but I barely looked over,” he said.

That’s when the shirtless youth punched him in the head, he said, the first blow in a rampage that would make headlines, prompt city officials to load Center City with police officers this week, and draw a pledge for a comprehensive response from Mayor Nutter.

Somerset County Sheriff's Office Press Release

Terri Lashay Jones of Crisfield, arrested 7-28-11 on a warrant regarding failing to appear in court. Jones was held on a $500.00 bond.

Juvenile arrested 7-28-11 regarding stolen county road signs. On 7-28-11 the Somerset County Sheriff's Office received information that a residence on Byrdtown Rd, Crisfield had stolen county road signs in there garage. Deputies arrested a male juvenile who addmitted to removing the road signs from different locations in the county. The juvenile was charged with theft under $500.00, and later released to his parents pending juvenile court actions. The signs were returned to the Somerset County Roads Department.

Nichole Marie Albrecht of Crisfield, arrested 7-29-11 on a warrant regarding violation of probation. Albrecht was held without bond.

Jack Graham Shelton of Salisbury, arrested 8-1-11 on a warrant regarding harassment, and telephone misuse. Shelton was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Jackie Lynn Crockett of Crisfield, arrested 8-2-11 on warrants regarding failing to appear in court, and violation of probation. Crocket was held on a $30,000 bond.

Brandon Lamar Maddox of Baltimore, arrested 8-3-11 on a warrant regarding failing to pay fines in District Court. Maddox was held on a $3,150.00 bond.

Isn't This The Same As Graffiti?

When a local business owner has a bunch of kids patronizing his business and those kids possibly take these stickers and place them on the fronts of local businesses illegally, as well as structures like light poles and power boxes, should the business owner be held responsible?

John Robinson always seems to take the I'm innocent route in whatever he does but now the Downtown Plaza is subjected to his new stickers all over the Downtown area.

To me, it's no different from graffiti and he should be warning his customers to stop and or local law enforcement should start writing citations for this illegal activity.

Funny thing is, if Joe Albero or SBYNews had our stickers all over buildings and structures Downtown, I'd get arrested, fined or sued. Think about that first before you comment.

In Fear For Their Life In Downtown Salisbury, Maryland

Scared, disgusted, appalled in disbelief! These are some of the words that would describe my experience last night while drive through the Downtown Plaza of Salisbury, Maryland.

I live outside the city and can honestly say it has been years since I have been near the Downtown area in the late evening hours. However last night, do to a family emergency, I found myself driving through the city around 11:15pm and I was shocked.

I have heard people talk about how the area has gone downhill and the amount of homeless people that have taken up residency and I can tell you it is the truth.

I drove by the court house and I notice a woman (prostitute) standing on the corner of the flashing stop light. I have to stop and when I do she starts to approach my car. Call me sheltered by I am not accustom to this. I then turn down the road that WMDT is on and I see 2 men sleeping on the sidewalk in front of their building. I also notice as I am leaving the area that their are several people standing outside the area of the old Feldman's building.

The one thing I didn't see was any sign of the local police department, and I find that very sad.

I know that a lot of those building Downtown have apartments in them and I truly feel for the residents and their safety.

I will end with this, I have heard people refer the the City of Salisbury as "Little Baltimore" now I can honestly say they are 100% correct.

Recently, my 4-year-old got poked five times, and vaccines for measles, mumps and rubella, diptheria, tetanus and pertussis — among other nasties — coursed into her loudly protesting body.

Within hours, she'd spiked a fever, one of the potential side effects of some immunizations, and complained about sore thighs where the injections were delivered. Once she calmed down, she was curious about the source of her misery: “Why I got to get shots to make me healthy?”

After a woman was asked to turn a T-shirt reading "Marriage is so gay" inside out while attempting to visit Dollywood's Splash Country in early July, Dolly Parton has issued a personal apology for the incident.

The woman, who according to the Atlantic was attending the park along with her wife and the children of a friend, was asked by the host at Dollywood's Splash Country to turn her shirt inside out at the park's entrance.

Black Student Sues Minnesota High School For Celebrating 'Wigger Day'

RED WING, Minn – A black student is suing her former Minnesota high school for celebrating "Wednesday Wigger Day," where white students pretended to be black during homecoming week, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Wednesday.

Quera Pruitt, who graduated from Red Wing High School last year, filed the lawsuit last week, saying the "wigger" celebration caused her to be so depressed that she almost dropped out of school.

A Guatemalan judge has ordered a U.S. couple to return their adopted daughter to her birth mother, siding with a human rights group that says the girl was stolen by a child trafficking ring and put up for adoption.

How To Unlock A Car With A Text Message

Las Vegas (CNN) -- Don Bailey says he can unlock thousands of cars across the United States simply by sending a few texts from his Android phone.

And that's not even the scary part.

Bailey, a senior security consultant with iSEC Partners, said in an interview with CNN at the Black Hat security conference here at Caesars Palace that the same hack he has used to demonstrate unlocking and even starting a car via text message also could be used to attack industrial systems, the power grid and the water system.

"I could care less if I could unlock a car door," he said. "It's cool. It's sexy. But the same system is used to control phone, power, traffic systems. I think that's the real threat."

Getting Serious About Recovery

This is how economic recovery can be encouraged by all levels of government in the U.S.:

1. Remove all preemptory government regulations of all the professions and businesses.

2. Cut taxes to the bone, when possible totally abolish them.

3. Cut all subsidies and protectionist measures.

4. Eliminate all minimum wage laws.

5. Close down all the alphabet soup agencies (a corollary of #1).

6. Sell off all government properties that do not relate to the military defense of the country.

7. Abolish the war on drugs.

8. Abolish all blue laws, everywhere (including states, counties, and municipalities).

9. Stop all non-defensive military endeavors.

10. Basically and most generally, follow the edict of the Declaration of Independence where it assigns to government the job of securing the basic rights of the citizenry.
It is by freeing up human productivity and creativity that economies are most likely to grow. Apart from natural calamities, governmental interventions are the worst obstacles to economic development. Makes perfectly good sense. Government is no good at picking winners and losers. Bureaucrats and politicians have no more wisdom and virtue than do the rest of us, so they must not take over the direction of our lives, including our economic affairs. The top down regimentation of economic affairs is perverse and will surely prolong our economic wows.
If these measures aren't followed, the country will continue to struggle and decline.

(CNN) -- The Muscular Dystrophy Association announced Wednesday that comedian Jerry Lewis is no longer serving as the organization's national chairman.

Woman Arrested For 2 Bank Robberies

Police arrested a Fairfax woman accused of robbing two northern Virginia banks, but her husband says it’s a case of mistaken identity.

Police arrested Angela Fitzhugh-Hill for the bank robberies at Apple Federal Credit Union's Kingstowne branch and the Springfield Plaza branch. Police released the surveillance video and posted it on Youtube.
Police said they tied Fitzhugh-Hill to the crimes through her car, which they found parked outside her job.

Her husband, Raynard Hill, said she is a hard-working and robbery would be totally out of character.

The FBI has arrested 10 people for allegedly participating in a $60 million mortgage fraud ring early Thursday morning in the New York area, FoxNews.com has learned.

Three more suspects are expected to be in custody by the end of the day, an FBI official said.

The 13 alleged members of the mortgage fraud ring include real estate attorneys, title closers, appraisers and straw buyers. They were arrested on conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud charges.

9/11 Memorial Short On Funds, Foundation Offers Help

WASHINGTON -- With five weeks left until the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, organizers of a national memorial to the passengers and crew of United Airlines flight 93 are still $10 million short of a $62 million fundraising goal.

Now, the National Park Foundation, the charitable arm of the National Park Service, has announced a $2 million challenge grant to try to close that gap.

The foundation will match donations made through the Flight 93 National Memorial's website, dollar for dollar, up to $2 million.

Lowering expectations, Obama's campaign said it would raise tens of millions of dollars less this summer than it did in the spring because it had to scrap 10 fundraisers headlined by Obama and others in California, New York and elsewhere and now faced a sluggish time of the year to raise campaign cash.

Debt Deal: What the World Thinks Of Us Now

The debt deal out of Washington may have averted a big sell-off of U.S. Treasury bonds.

But even though big Treasury holders like China and Japan haven't run for the hills, the response of foreign countries to the deal has been pretty tepid. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, for one, said the deal was "not that great overall because it simply delayed the adoption of a more systemic solution."

Indeed, the political turmoil leading up to the debt deal, along with the deal's remaining uncertainties, may have tainted foreign perceptions of our trusty currency for good.

Feds Indict Former Children's Beach House Director

A retired executive director of Children’s Beach House in Lewes has been indicted on federal child pornography charges.

Harold Love Springer III, 73, of Wilmington who served as executive director of Children's Beach House for more than three decades, was indicted by a grand jury Aug. 2 on charges of transportation, receipt and possession of child pornography in violation of federal law, U.S. Attorney Charles M. Oberly III said.

A group of Alabama friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight of an eight-point buck.

"Where's Henry?" the others asked.

"Henry had a stroke o' some kind. He's a couple of miles back up the trail," the successful hunter replied.

"You left Henry layin' out there and carried the deer back?" they inquired.

"A tough call," nodded the hunter. "But I figured no one's gonna steal Henry!"

Georgia

The owner of a golf course in Georgia was confused about paying an invoice, so he decided to ask his secretary for some mathematical help.

He called her into his office and said, "Y'all graduated from the University of Georgia and I need some help. If I wuz to give yew $20,000, minus 14%, how much would you take off?"

The secretary thought a moment, and then replied, "Everthang but my earrings."

Louisiana

A senior citizen in Louisiana was overheard saying ... "When the end of the world comes, I hope to be in Louisiana .."

A Tennessee State trooper pulled over a pickup on I-65. The trooper asked, "Got any ID?"

The Sheriff pulled up next to the guy unloading garbage out of his pick-up into the ditch. The Sheriff asked, "Why are you dumping garbage in the ditch? Don't you see that sign right over your head."
