Teacher Pay, Small Classes Top Budget Requests
NEWARK – Requests for competitive teacher salaries, small class sizes and the latest technology highlighted a budget input session hosted by the Worcester County Board of Education.
On Tuesday, the school system hosted its annual public input session for the coming year’s budget. Budget priorities from each school were presented by parents, most of whom said they wanted to see teachers compensated well and class sizes remain small as the fiscal year 2021 budget was developed.
“We know it’s a hard job and it takes a lot of long hours and we do appreciate that,” Stephen Decatur Middle School parent Kate Gaddis said.
While competitive teacher salaries and small class sizes were the most repeated priorities, other common requests included updated technology and additional personnel. Several schools also had capital improvement requests.

Donald Trump was elected to break the elite. Of course they want to impeach him
When the global elite are aligned against him and laughing like the immature cool kids you hated in middle school, President Donald Trump is winning.
When the liberal law professors are neglecting their Thanksgiving turkeys to read congressional transcripts and snarking about Trump's 13-year old son, Trump is winning.
When the politicians are mad — so mad that they have shut down all policymaking to impeach the President of the United States on what constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley called "wafer thin" evidence —Trump is winning.
You have to remember: Donald Trump wasn't elected to fit in with these people — the political, intellectual class -- to make them happy, or to become one of them. He was elected to break them. And that's apparently what he's done.

What if we're all wrong about men?
Almost exactly seven years ago, I wrote an article headlined “The War on Men” that went viral. The best feedback came not from the legions of angry feminists whose emails flooded my inbox, but from clinical psychiatrist Paul Dobransky, M.D., who wrote a response piece in Psychology Today.
“Men know women are powerful, and we don’t mind that one bit. It empowers us that you’re empowered,” he wrote. “Unless, that is, you disempower us in order to feel empowered.”
That’s precisely what I tried to get across in my article when I wrote of women knocking men down off their pedestals. “In a nutshell, women are angry. They’re also defensive, though often unknowingly. That’s because they’ve been raised to think of men as the enemy. Armed with this new attitude, women pushed men off their pedestal (women had their own pedestal, but feminists convinced them otherwise) and climbed up to take what they were taught to believe was rightfully theirs.”

Jewish Group Urges Army to End Ban on Biblical 'Dog Tags'
The Conference of Jewish Affairs on Thursday asked the Army to reconsider a ban on replica dog tags displaying the agency's emblem and Bible references because it bars a "personal touchstone for our warriors seeking a sense of higher mission and divine protection."
"No soldier is forced to inscribe a biblical verse on his personal dog tag, though the Army has over the years allowed soldiers to do so if they wish," Rabbi Aryeh Spero, the conference's president, said in a letter to Paul Jensen, director of the Army Trademark Licensing Program.
"Those who choose to do so feel a sense of confidence, inner strength, and inspiration when wearing or looking at their tag prior to battle or during moments of anxiousness or contemplation.
"It is not done for purposes of religious missionizing, rather as a personal touchstone for our warriors seeking a sense of higher mission and divine protection," Spero said.
"The Army is not promoting religion, rather allowing soldiers to exercise their personal religious needs."
In August, Jensen banned a faith-based company, Shields of Strength LLC, from selling the medallions with the scriptures after Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), complained that such "proselytizing merchandise" violated Pentagon policy.

Where Was Dershowitz?
The House Judiciary Committee heard testimony all day Wedneday from four legal scholars who were called to explain to the members what acts would be considered impeachable offenses under the U.S. Constitution.
Three were called by Democratic committee members and just one, Prof. Jonathan Turley, was called by Republicans.
But noticeably missing was arguably the most famous constitutional lawyer and acclaimed civil libertarian in the nation: Alan Dershowitz.
In 1967, he became the youngest full professor in the history of Harvard Law School and has made waves, big ones, ever since.
Like Dershowitz, all four testifying were politically liberal to far-left Democrats, who did not vote for President Donald Trump in 2016.
Why was Dershowitz not invited then?

Feds: Over 60 Latin Kings Members Arrested Along East Coast
More than 60 members of the Latin Kings have been arrested on federal racketeering, drug and firearms charges, including the leaders of the street gang’s East Coast operations, authorities announced Thursday.
Among those arrested is Michael Cecchetelli, a 40-year-old Springfield, Massachusetts resident with ties to the Genovese crime family who oversaw the gang’s operations from Massachusetts down to Florida, according to Joseph Bonavolonta, head of the FBI's Boston office.
Authorities said Cecchetelli and other gang leaders ran the gang with a Mafia-style hierarchy, with a council of leaders and as many as 11 chapters across Massachusetts alone. They say the leadership approach has become a model for other Latin Kings regions in the country.
The Latin Kings have also grown to become the largest gang in Massachusetts prisons.
The majority of Thursday morning’s arrests took place across Massachusetts, but some gang members and associates were also arrested in Rhode Island and Connecticut, Bonavolonta said. The gang’s operations also stretched into New York, New Jersey and Maryland.

REMINDER: It’s Greenery Workshop Time Once More!
On Saturday Dec. 7 the folks at Pemberton Hall
Foundation and Westside Historical Society will again offer a workshop
in making your own natural greenery Christmas decorations. This has
become a popular annual event at Pemberton Historical Park, reminiscent
of the busy weeks on the Eastern Shore in the 1800s and early 1900s when
folks here made thousands of wreaths to sell from Philadelphia to
Norfolk! Boxcar loads of the pungent decorative greenery were delivered
daily to mid-Atlantic cities.
Now, here is your chance to learn to make beautiful wreaths, swags and other decorative pieces for the Holidays! All the greens and materials needed will be provided by these two sponsoring heritage organizations, plus hands-on instruction. At the same time some interesting bits of the history of the commercial importance of the harvesting and creation of natural greenery here on the Eastern Shore. For many years in the 1800s and early 1900s local farmers made a tidy profit to carry their families over the winter by cutting holly, cedar, and other greens, fashioning them into hundreds of beautiful wreaths, and shipping them to nearby regions. This workshop will teach the same methods, using natural materials to make the finished product. No prior experience is necessary!
Classes will be held in the Education Building at Pemberton Historical Park (on Pemberton Drive) and will begin at 10 am and run until about 2pm. Space is limited to the number of work tables available at any given time, so there could be a short wait. No decorations such as ribbons or ornaments will be provided/included in the fee, but some ribbons may be available to purchase. Or, if the crafter wishes to include these they can be brought along and the instructors will assist in attaching them to the finished product. Some folks in recent classes also attached real fruits (lemons, apples) and instructors can help with this as well – just bring your own items.
The cost for making one item is $15, but crafters may choose to make more than one item, with the cost being $15 each. Free refreshments will be provided , and both heritage organizations will have a number of gift items for sale. For more information about the workshop email westsidehistorical@gmail.com or phone 410-546-0314 or 410-726-8047.

DHS Deputy Says Sanctuary Cities Are Harboring ‘Violent, Vicious’ MS-13 Gang Members
Ken Cuccinelli, the acting Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, on Thursday accused sanctuary cities of harboring violent MS-13 gang members.
Cuccinelli, who was appointed to the second-highest position atop DHS in November, appeared on Fox Business to discuss a range of issues affecting his department, such as the Trump administration’s likely move to label Mexican drug cartels as terrorists, progress on the border wall, and the crackdown on gang activity within the United States.
The acting deputy secretary took particular umbrage with cities and localities that refuse to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), making it more difficult to arrest and deport illegal aliens accused of heinous crimes.

Trump 2020 team raking in huge dollars on Facebook in wake of impeachment push
President Trump's reelection campaign is raising large amounts of donations through social media ads, specifically Facebook, in the wake of the impeachment proceedings in Congress.
Within 72 hours of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Sept. 24 announcement of the impeachment push, the Trump campaign had raised $15 million in small-dollar donations, according to a new report in Time magazine.
"On Oct. 31, the day the House voted to approve rules for the impeachment inquiry, the campaign raised more than $3 million, around six times the norm," the magazine reported.
Time analyzed hundreds of digital campaign ads on web, social media, and e-mail communications, and concluded the campaign was using Democrats' impeachment push effectively to target new donors.

It marks the 110th month of straight gains.

BERLIN — The Worcester County Sheriff’s Department is ramping up the battle against opioid addiction with a promised series of videos aimed at ending the scourge and getting help to those who need it the most.
The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office this week released the first of a promised series of videos aimed at eliminating, or at least reducing, the opioid addiction crisis in the local area and throughout the state. In the first video of the series released this week entitled “The Dangers of Addiction,” Sheriff Matt Crisafulli raises awareness of the growing crisis and vows to direct the resources of his department and its allied agencies to end the scourge. In the video, Crisafulli points out more people now die nationwide from opioid-related addiction than in motor vehicle crashes. In 2018, 40,100 people died in vehicle crashes, while 47,600 died from opioid-related causes.
“For the first time on record, the odds of dying from an accidental opioid overdose are greater than those of dying in an automobile accident,” he said. “It’s not just affecting the bad kids. It’s affecting our brothers, our daughters, our leaders and our friends. It’s affecting those from all walks of life.”

Democrats' Amnesty Bill Blocks Labor-Saving Farm Machines
The pending farm worker amnesty drafted by Democrats and business groups is likely to block the development and use of labor-saving machinery throughout the labor-intensive farm sector.
The Democrat Party is offering the agriculture business an endless supply of cheap migrant labor if business executives pressure GOP legislators to approve an amnesty for roughly one million illegal migrants who will likely vote Democrat. The profits-for-amnesty swap is at the center of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2019, which has passed a House committee and is expected to get a floor vote soon.
The Democrats’ amnesty bill also has the support of the United Farm Workers union (UFW), which represents illegal migrant farm workers. The migrants work long hours, in the open, often for low pay.
But they harvest the crops with methods that have changed little in 10,000 years: Stooping to harvest crops, reaching upwards to pick fruit, and carrying simple tools to dig, weed, or prune. The crude methods are good enough for many farm companies that are under intense pressure to minimize near-term spending on payroll and investment in equipment.
Overseas, farm companies in Israel, Australia, Europe, and South America are investing in labor-saving machinery.

Statement from the White House Press Secretary
At this morning’s press conference, Speaker Nancy Pelosi could have finally announced a vote on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement that would immediately help America’s farmers, ranchers, businesses, and workers; or outlined a plan to work with the President to lower prescription drug prices; or addressed our Nation’s infrastructure.
Instead, Speaker Pelosi did exactly what she always does – ignore the needs of the American people and advance her selfish political desires. Democrats’ sham impeachment is a blatant, purely partisan attempt to overturn the results of a free and fair election. By their own admission, Democrats say they have to “impeach the President” because they cannot defeat him at the ballot box.
Democrats in Congress have clearly abused their power.
Democrats in Congress have lied to the American people.
Democrats in Congress have made a mockery of the law.
How many Democrats will join her driving right off the cliff with this illegitimate impeachment hoax? Speaker Pelosi’s instruction to advance this impeachment process – one that has violated every precedent – moves this Country toward the most partisan and illegitimate subversion of the Constitution in our history.

Why is Montgomery County's violent crime rate twice as high as neighboring Fairfax County?
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (ABC7) — Montgomery County residents are twice as likely to become the victim of a violent crime when compared to neighboring Fairfax County, that is according to newly-released statistics compiled by the Montgomery County Police Department.
On Monday, the Montgomery County Public Safety Committee reviewed a packet of 2018 crime data, and then delved into a brief, 20-minute discussion about what the stats meant. Councilmembers Gabe Albornoz (D-At Large), Tom Hucker (D-District 5) and Sidney Katz (D-District 3) make up the Public Safety Committee and were all present for the conversation.
“Generally speaking, we do very well as it relates to other jurisdictions," Assistant Police Chief Dinesh Patil stated during the meeting. “I think Fairfax is probably one of the most comparable to us.... I think you see a fair amount of consistency across the board between [our] agencies.”
