On April 28, 2010, at 1:55 p.m., Ocean City Police responded to North Division Street and the Beach, in reference to a citizen report of possible skeletal remains on the beach.
Police arrived at the scene. OCPD Detectives and Forensic Services personnel recovered the skeletal remains, which have been sent to the Maryland Medical Examiners Office for further analysis and autopsy.

In this era of "vote them all out", I think this small victory should serve as a reminder to all of us to continue to pay attention to the people that are elected/appointed to serve us. The "vote them all out" is a lazy route of outrage. While I can certainly understand anger after the Wall Street bailouts, the health care debates, political corruption on both sides of the aisle and numerous other things, there are still men and women that want to serve our communities to the best of their ability. Believing "they're all crooks" is not only untrue, it doesn't help our position as tax payers that foot the bill for services such as police, fire, wastewater, water and trash collection (among others). What this belief does, however, is allow the public to throw its collective hands in the air and stop their engagement with the system becoming politically apathetic. In turn, governments with a lack of engagement from their citizenry are more open to corrupt officials because these criminals have fewer people to con. This is exactly what the criminals in the system would have you do.
While there is no doubt that Joe has clout in the area, I know firsthand that Mr. Anderton has been responsive to citizens when the spotlight was off. If you have a question, concern or a position you want to share with your representatives then do it. I'm not asking a 20 hour a week commitment here, but if your schedule is such that you cannot attend local government meetings, send emails or make phone calls. It's now easier than ever to make your voice known. Along the way you'll meet public servants like Mr. Anderton and perhaps your faith in our system increase, not to blind devotion, but cautious optimism.
Power to the people.
Anti Albero Bloggers And Their New Phone Game
It turns out, I never called them, yet they all insisted my cell number was on their Caller ID. After doing a little research I came to learn of a stupid program T-Mobile has where someone can play that game. In fact, one of the programs is called "Jail Break" and people can make it look like someone is calling them, when they're not.
In all cases today there was a phone message left instead of them actually getting a hold of the person called.
I have contacted Verizon and T-Mobile and they are investigating this and taking it very seriously. My apologies to any of you receiving such childish messages and I'm sure you know who's playing these games. JT, JR, TM, BB, I just wonder which one of them is with T-Mobile. We'll find out soon enough.
What A Load Of Crap!
Consumers starting to spend more, but companies yet to ramp up hiring
CHICAGO - Corporate America is back.
Companies that do everything from making appliances to selling cruises are reporting strong first-quarter profits — not because of the layoffs many of them used to dress up last year's earnings reports but because people are spending more.
The turnaround has yet to produce a dramatic increase in hiring, which isn't expected until 2011 or later. But it provides emphatic new evidence that the economy has moved past the crisis and should continue to strengthen.

Jim Rutledge Defends Tea Party Movement
FOREST Hill, Maryland- Republican U.S Senate Candidate Jim Rutledge of Maryland disagrees with comments made by Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell concerning the Tea Party Movement. Gov. Rendell told Fox News on Saturday that he did not believe that the growing support for the Tea Party constituted a legitimate movement. Rendell said, “I think they identify with the anger not necessarily the movement.” Jim Rutledge responded to this comment by stating, “The Tea Party does identify with the anger and they’re taking action- that’s a movement.”
The Rutledge for Senate Campaign also takes exception to Gov. Rendell’s comments that the Tea Party lacks clout and is solely the creation of the mainstream media. Jim Rutledge believes this is another attempt by liberal bureaucrats and career politicians to allow Washington to return to business as usual. A Fox News poll showed that 17% of voters consider themselves part of the Tea Party Movement while 56% considered the Tea Party a serious group. Jim Rutledge said, “Seventeen percent of the voters can decide every election in America.”
Jim Rutledge believes the Tea Party activists have created a strong national movement that will play a pivotal role in the November elections. The Rutledge Campaign is proud of its association with the Tea Party movement and continues to advocate limited government and lower taxes. Jim Rutledge said, “These are republicans, democrats and independents who are all working together to restore the constitution to our government.”
Jim Rutledge has spoken at Tea Party rallies across Maryland and believes it’s time for taxpayers to defeat liberals like Eric Wargotz and Barbara Mikulski. Jim Rutledge said, “Eric’s liberal track record shows he has more in common with the Democrats than conservative Republicans. Maryland Republicans will never reach conservative Democrats by nominating liberals.”
DC Panda News
No cub again this year.
April 28
Following a final ultrasound and hormone analysis, Zoo staff confirmed late yesterday that Mei Xiang is not pregnant but was experiencing a pseudo, or false, pregnancy during the past several months.
Zoo scientists, veterinarians, keepers, and FONZ volunteers were keeping a close eye on Mei, monitoring her hormone levels and behavior, as well as conducting weekly ultrasound exams in an attempt to determine if she was pregnant. On April 23, Mei’s progestagen concentrations had declined sufficiently to start the 24-hour watch. On reaching normal baseline levels, this decline ends in either the birth of a cub or the end of a pseudopregnancy. Based on current hormone analyses, and not having seen a fetus during the ultrasound exams, Zoo researchers have determined that Mei Xiang experienced a pseudopregnancy.
Female giant pandas almost always undergo a pseudopregnancy when they ovulate but fail to conceive. During a pseudopregnancy, hormonal changes and behaviors are identical to those of a true pregnancy, making it very difficult to determine if a giant panda is actually pregnant or not. This is the fifth time Mei Xiang has had a pseudopregnancy.
We expect Mei to return to normal, hormonally and behaviorally, in the coming days, which includes an increase in appetite and activity level.

SHOREBIRDS GAME NOTES: 4/28 @ Asheville
FLYING OUT OF McCORMICK: The upcoming series features the top two home run hitting teams in the league at maybe the friendliest hitters park in the league. Through 12 games at McCormick Field, there have been 23 home runs hit between the Tourists and their opposition. The Shorebirds are coming from Municipal Stadium, where only seven home runs have been hit in 11 games.
8th IN THE LEAGUE: Garabez Rosa has climbed into the SAL’s top ten in batting average (.344) for the first time this season.
TOP OF THE LEAGUE: The Shorebirds held sole position of first place in the Northern Division for 16 straight days until last night.
ROAD WARRIORS: The Shorebirds are 7-4 away from Perdue Stadium and 3-5 at home this season. The ‘Birds are hitting .280 on the road and just .223 at home. The ‘Birds have scored 71 runs in ten games on the road (6.45 per), while they scored 31 runs in eight games at home (3.87 per).
2ND FASTEST GAME: The Shorebirds and Suns played the second quickest nine-inning game last night in the South Atlantic League this season (1:59). The fastest game of the year belongs to Augusta and Savannah. On 4/14, Augusta beat Savannah 1-0 in 1:55. The last time the Shorebirds were involved in a quicker nine-inning contest was on July 17, 2006. The Shorebirds lost to Hickory 2-0 in an hour and 55 minutes.
BEAL BAFFLES: Shorebirds pitcher Jesse Beal faced just one batter over the minimum in seven dominating innings yesterday. He hit a bump in the road in the eighth and was pinned with a tough loss. Beal allowed just four base runners through the first seven innings.
BULLPEN IS RESTED: In the last series (at Hagerstown), only four bullpen arms made appearances (Nathan Moreau, Jake Smith, Bobby Bundy and James Brandhorst). The pen tossed only seven innings during the series. Nick Haughian has experienced the longest layoff, as he has been idle since April 22nd. Ryan Palsha has been off for five days (April 23rd).
VS. LEFTIES: The Shorebirds have not fared well against left-handed pitchers this season. They are batting just .215. The ‘Birds are hitting .286 against right-handed arms. The Tourists will throw back-to-back lefties to start the series.
44 CAREER HBP: Tyler Kolodny was hit by another pitch yesterday to up his grand total to 44 for his career. Last season, he matched the Shorebirds franchise record with 17 HBPs. Amongst active Orioles minor leaguers, Kolodny is second in career HBPs. Only Danny Figueroa (46) has been hit by more pitches in his career. Figueroa was hit by 14 when he played for the Shorebirds in 2007. The South Atlantic League record for HBPs in a single-season is held by Nyjer Morgan, who was hit by 32 pitches back in 2004 for Hickory.
BUMBRY REACHES AGAIN: Steve Bumbry was hit by a pitch in yesterday’s game to extend his road on-base streak to nine games. He has failed to reach base on the road only once (4/8).
Bicyclist Struck With Blow Dart On Limestone Road
Resume: Progress in the below outlined blow dart case has slowed and tips regarding those responsible are still sought.
Since this case was covered last year, detectives have continued to follow leads and interview persons of interest. On February 9th, 2010, investigators arrested Hamilton Smith, 20, of Bear, Delaware for his part in the following two incidents:
August 11th, 2010, Route 7 at Ocheltree Lane, Wilmington, Delaware
August 11th, 2010, Route 7 and Vincent Drive, Wilmington, Delaware
Mr. Smith was identified through tips and leads generated through this investigation. DSP was hoping to announce his arrest sooner; however, concern of compromising other active leads prevented it.
Mr. Smith was formally charged with two counts of Assault 2nd (felony) and two counts of Conspiracy 2nd (felony). He is free on bail awaiting trial in Superior Court.
Anyone who may have information pertaining to this open investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
Mayor Ireton Proposes Library Locations To County Executive
There are three proposed locations, all in downtown Salisbury, using city-owned parking lots for use by the County. Each proposal is subject to approval by the City Council.
Mayor Ireton said, “We have attempted to make these proposals attractive based on our belief that the library should be located in downtown Salisbury.” He added, "I am grateful to Library Board Chairwoman Valerie Murphy for coming back to the table on numerous occasions in order to get to the point where the city was able to address the needs of the public. I am confident that the County Executive, the County Council, and the City Council will recognize the hard work, time, and effort that went into crafting these proposals. My sincere thanks to members of the Greater Salisbury Committee, Urban Salisbury, and to Bradley Gillis for all the time they gave in making the downtown the clear choice for the new library. I am in awe of what our community can do when we rally together."

Word Of The Day: Dhimmitude
Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-muslim populations conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to islam.
The ObamaCare bill is the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia muslim diktat in the United States . Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking" and "usury" and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this. How convenient.
So I John Smith, as a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan a racist Black Muslim will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize muslims. Period. This is Dhimmitude. Ain't it grand, thank you Mr. President!
Dhimmitude serves two purposes: it enriches the muslim masters AND serves to drive conversions to islam. In this case, the incentive to convert to islam will be taken up by those in the inner-cities as well as the godless Generation X, Y and Z types who have no moral anchor. If you don't believe in Christ to begin with, it is no problem whatsoever to sell Him for 30 pieces of silver. "Sure, I'll be a muslim if it means free health insurance and no taxes. Where do I sign, bro?"
P.S. Have you heard about the summit Obama is holding this month in D.C. for the future Muslim business leaders in the US? He wants to increase their ability to begin business opportunities in the US for the Muslim community! Pretty soon we can relocate to the middle east because all the Muslims will be here.

Noah's Ark found? Not so fast
Web sites are buzzing over claims that remains from Noah’s Ark may have been found on Turkey’s Mount Ararat. The finders, led by an evangelical group, say they are "99.9 percent" that a wooden structure found on the mountainside was part of a ship that housed the Biblical Noah, his family and a menagerie of creatures during a giant flood 4,800 years ago.
But researchers who have spent decades studying the region – and fending off past claims of ark discoveries – caution that a boatload of skepticism is in order.
"You have to take everything out of context except the Bible to get something tolerable, and they're not even working much with the Bible," said Paul Zimansky, an archaeologist and historian at Stony Brook University who specializes in the Near East - and especially the region around Ararat, known as Urartu.
Cornell archaeologist Peter Ian Kuniholm, who has focused on Turkey for decades, was even more direct - saying that the reported find is a "crock."

Cities With Job Growth Favor Public Sector Hiring
This year's "best places for jobs" list is easily the most depressing since we began compiling our annual rankings almost a decade ago. In the past — even in bad years — there were always stalwart areas creating lots of new jobs. In 2007's survey 283 out of 393 metros areas showed job growth, and those at the top were often growing employment by at least 5 percent to 6 percent. Last year the number dropped to 63. This year's survey, measuring growth from January 2009 to January 2010, found only 13 metros with any growth.
Mike Shires at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy, who develops the survey, calls it "an awful year." Making it even worse, the source of new jobs in almost all areas were either government employment or highly taxpayer-funded sectors like education and health. This year's best-performing regions were those that suffered the smallest losses in the private economy while bulking up on government steroids.
So far the recovery has favored the government-dominated apparat and those places where public workers congregate. After all, besides Wall Street, public-financed workers have been the big beneficiaries of the stimulus, with state and local governments receiving more than one-third of all funds. Public employment grew by nearly 2 percent over the past three years, while private employment has dropped by 7 percent.

New Political Party
It's called the "PISSED OFF PARTY" (or POP).
This party is dedicated to vote every incumbent out of office in the next elections.
If you're Democrat, vote Democrat. Just don't vote for the incumbent.
If you're Republican, vote Republican. Just don't vote for the incumbent.
We need to send a message to all politicians, that we're tired of their B.S.
If the country votes out all the incumbents, the new incoming politicians will get the message..
It's pretty simple. Nobody needs to change parties and lets face it, there's plenty of blame to spread around.
A few good politicians will lose their job but they probably have better retirement and insurance than 95% of the American public.
You've had to struggle for the last 5 years. Some of you have lost your job and may be working in some other sector just to feed your family.
I guarantee you, none of them will suffer like this country has.
If you like what's going on and think this is a bad idea, delete this.
But if you're fed up and think this is a good idea, then pass this E-mail on.
If you really think this has legs then a website and a blog could help get the word out.
Read this part Here's an irritated Senior!!
This should be read and understood by all Americans

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.
c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.
d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.
e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.
f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.
g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars
AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM? IT'S NOT ABOUT THE NEED FOR GOOD HEALTH CARE, IT'S ABOUT TRUSTING THE GOVERNMENT TO RUN IT.

WBOC's Website Really Does Suck
I personally think their new Website sucks. Is it something we're all going to have to deal with, certainly. If WBOC doesn't listen to what others have to say, well, it will be their loss. The old layout was easy to follow.
Mind you though, even WMDT has some issues with their new Site taking forever to load and what bothers me most about theirs is when they announce, "Just go to out web links for more information." PLEASE! You go try to find their "Web Links" page! Its not impossible to find because it's there but let me assure you, it's in a place you would NEVER expect it to be if you're searching for it.
This is one of the main reasons I like Blogger so much. It doesn't allow you to do all those fancy things like ads that rotate. That's cool because I want our advertisers to be seen each and every time you come here. I don't want it to be like gambling, hit or miss. You're paying for a service.
I'd rather you drive down the road and hit nothing but green lights all that way. On WBOC, WMDT & the Daily Times, its hit or miss. No matter what happens along the way you're going to hit red lights.
Anyhow, we'll see if they choose to listen down the road.
Proposal To Make Voting Mandatory Riles Ridgway
Tom Hennessy would like to add not voting to that list.
Hennessy, a popular Ridgway brewer and pub owner, is proposing that the mostly dirt-street town at the edge of the San Juan Mountains become a national model by enacting a mandatory-voting statute. Residents who don't bother to vote, for no good reason, would be fined.
"We could do this. It would be a paradigm shift," Hennessy said. "We could be the great civics lesson in representative democracy."
The Town Council agreed to put the matter on the ballot for a recent town election as a nonbinding opinion question.

Counties Show Fiscal Leadership
Since this is an election year in Maryland, it’s not surprising political leaders are stumbling over themselves to avoid making tough decisions. Why tick off groups that could vote against you in the fall?
But not everywhere.
Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith has used the recession as leverage in negotiating with county labor unions. In exchange for job security (no layoffs for two years) and no furlough days, the unions agreed to no pay raises for two years and less-costly pension and health programs. This will save the county $25 million annually in future budgets.
Harford County Executive David Craig, a fierce fiscal conservative, has ratcheted down spending enough to propose a 2-cent property tax rate decrease. This comes on top of a 1.8-cent cut in the property tax rate last year, when Craig also sharply curbed spending.
In both instances, the county executive is a serious, longtime cost-cutter. It’s a somewhat quaint notion that you can shrink government and not do serious harm. Craig and Smith, from different political parties, have succeeded quite admirably.

Senate Republicans Offer Alternative Bank Plan After Blocking Democrats' Bill Again
The 20-page outline would prohibit the use of taxpayer funds to bail out failing financial giants of the future and impose federal regulation on many but not all trades of complex investments known as derivatives. It also calls for consumer protections that appear weaker than Democrats and the White House seek, and it would create new regulations on mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
The outline surfaced shortly before Senate Republicans united for the second straight day to block action on White House-backed legislation designed to prevent any recurrence of the ills that led to the economic calamity of 2008.
SU MENS’ LAX REMAINS STRONG CONTENDER FOR NCAA TOURNAMENT
Stevenson is now tops in the coaches' poll – the win over SU resulted in a switch in the 1 and 3 slots between the two teams, with Gettysburg remaining number two and Courtland in fourth place. SU has beaten each of those teams on the road.
Here is the current tournament projection by the ‘"LaxPower" analyst:
North
#1 Cortland (SUNYAC AQ) vs. winner: #8 Union (Pool C) vs. #9 Keene St. (Little East AQ)
#4 Geneseo (Pool C) vs. winner: #5 Nazareth (E8 AQ) vs. #12 Colorado College (Pool B)
#2 Connecticut College (NESCAC AQ) vs. winner: #7 RPI (Liberty AQ) vs. #10 Endicott (CCC AQ)
#3 Tufts (Pool C) vs. winner of #6 Montclair St. (Skyline AQ) vs. #11 Mount Ida (NAC AQ)
South
#1 Salisbury (Pool C) vs. winner: #8 Goucher (Landmark AQ) vs. #9 Eastern (MAC AQ)
#4 Dickinson (Pool C) vs. #5 Roanoke (ODAC AQ)
#2 Stevenson (CAC AQ) vs. winner: #7 Denison (Pool B) vs. #10 Ohio Wesleyan (Pool B)
#3 Gettysburg (Centennial AQ) vs. winner: #6 Cabrini (CSAC AQ) vs. #11 Springfield (Pilgrim AQ)
A quick word on the seeding of the top 3 in the South: Under the Criteria, they are very even. I used the Salisbury win over Gettysburg to separate the two of them, and then the Secondary Criteria (out-of-region contests) were used with respect to Salisbury/Stevenson, which brought into consideration Salisbury’s out-of-region win over Cortland and Stevenson’s over RIT, with the greater weight going to Salisbury.
The Gulls could face a dark horse – Roanoke – here, and recall the nail biter win over the Maroons here a couple years ago. Roanoke has lost only twice, including a trouncing (9-18) by Stevenson a month ago.
Administration Only Partially Complies With Ft. Hood Subpoenas
The failure by the Defense and Justice departments to turn over all the requested documentation — which they say they do not intend to do — is not likely to ease the growing tension between some key senators and the Obama administration over the incident at the Army base on Nov. 5, 2009.
In a joint statement, Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine), the chairman and ranking member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said that the administration’s “failure to comply with the subpoenas” is an “affront to Congress’s constitutional obligation to conduct independent oversight of the executive branch.”
Lieberman and Collins last week issued the first congressional subpoenas of the Obama administration. They were issued to Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Attorney General Eric Holder.
Lieberman’s committee is looking into whether the government could have taken steps to prevent the deaths of 13 people on the Army base. Maj. Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, is the accused gunman.
The Defense and Justice departments “have produced a limited set of documents in response to the subpoenas, which we appreciate,” Lieberman and Collins said in a statement. “However, they still refuse to provide access to their agents who reportedly reviewed Maj. Hasan’s communications with radical extremist cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and to transcripts of prosecution interviews with Hasan’s associates and superiors, which DOD [the Department of Defense] already provided to its internal review.”
Did Obama Hide Damning Health-Care Report?
According to a controversial article in the American Spectator, the Medicare and Medicaid Office of the Actuary delivered the damning report to the Department of Health and Human Services weeks before Congress voted on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, but HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius refused to review it until after the vote.
"The reason we were given was that they did not want to influence the vote," an unnamed HHS source reportedly told American Spectator.
"We know a copy was sent to the White House via their legislative affairs staff," the HHS staffer reportedly said, "and there were a number of meetings here almost right after the analysis was submitted to the secretary's office. Everyone went into lockdown, and people here were too scared to go public with the report."
The quotes were quickly picked up by FoxNews.com, Big Government.com, blogs and even radio host Rush Limbaugh:
"So everybody knew. Everybody knew that Obamacare would ratchet up the cost. That news was suppressed," Limbaugh said on his show yesterday. "Sebelius didn't want to read it on purpose, saying she 'didn't want to affect the vote.'"

BOB EHRLICH WELCOMES GOVERNOR O’MALLEY INTO RACE
“I welcome Governor O’Malley to the campaign. The citizens of Maryland—particularly the 230,000 Marylanders who are currently unable to find work—deserve a clear choice in this election. I look forward to a vigorous exchange of ideas with the governor on who has the vision required to help revitalize our economy, lower Maryland’s tax burden, and fix the budget mess in Annapolis.”
Background: Governor Ehrlich has a long-standing tradition of not seeking to trample on his opponent’s announcement day. As a result, he will not be available for press interviews today. Mr. Ehrlich looks forward to discussing the campaign at public events in the coming days.
Maryland Is Sixth-Highest In Nation For Mortgage Fraud
Mortgage fraud in Maryland was the sixth-worst in the nation last year, according to a new report that finds continuing problems nationwide despite tighter lending restrictions.
The state's rate of reported fraud was 36 percent higher in 2009 than the national average, the Mortgage Asset Research Institute said Monday. The institute, a provider of mortgage-fraud-prevention services, compared the number of fraud cases in each state to that state's total number of newly issued mortgages.
Maryland's ranking is an improvement over 2008. The state ranked fifth that year, with 82 percent more fraud than the national average.

Damages Rise To $3.75B In Suit Over Water Contamination
This month, lawyers for 20 Frederick County families who allege fuel leaks from the Green Valley Citgo station contaminated groundwater at their residences amended their complaint to add 15 more plaintiffs, bringing the number from 60 to 75, and increasing the amount sought by the residents to $3.75 billion.
According to court documents, the Maryland Department of the Environment's water supply program notified the agency's oil control program in December 2004 of gasoline and petroleum contamination of the drinking water supply serving the Green Valley Plaza, where the gas station is located.
The next month, MDE began compliance inspections at the Green Valley Citgo.
In April 2007, MDE issued a notice of violation against three defendants in Maryland: the Carroll Independent Fuel Co., Baltimore; Timbercrest Limited Partnership, Gaithersburg; and SAABA Corp., Ellicott City.

Senators To Introduce Bill Taking Down D.C. Gun Laws
The Second Amendment Enforcement Act would overturn D.C.'s ban on semiautomatic weapons, the city's requirement that guns be stored unloaded and disassembled, and the registration requirements, WTOP.com reported. The bill also would allow D.C. residents to buy guns and ammo in Maryland and Virginia.
The bill retains D.C.'s laws banning fully automatic machine guns and regulating possession of firearms in D.C. government buildings.

SUSPECT CHARGED WITH ADDITIONAL ARMED ROBBERIES IN CARROLL COUNTY
The accused is identified as James K. Wilcox, 45, of the 2800-block of Kaywood Place, Sykesville, Md. Troopers served arrest warrants on Wilcox today at the Carroll County Detention Center charging him with two counts each of armed robbery, robbery, second degree assault, theft under $1,000, and one count of making a bomb threat. Wilcox continues to be held at the detention center without bond.
Wilcox was arrested by state troopers just after 10:00 p.m. on April 19, 2010, as he ran from the Safeway store in the 1300-block of Londontown Blvd., Eldersburg, where witnesses said he had just committed an armed robbery after telling an employee he had a bomb. The bomb turned out to be a look-alike fake. After the arrest, investigators from the State Police Westminster Barracks Criminal Investigation Section continued to review information from similar armed robberies that occurred in the Eldersburg area.
Just after midnight on February 24, 2010, Maryland State Police responded to the Exxon gas station in the 1300-block of Liberty Road, Eldersburg, for an armed robbery. Witnesses gave a description of a suspect who had entered the station armed with a butcher knife and, after announcing a robbery, left with a cash drawer. The suspect was seen leaving the scene in a red pickup truck.
On April 14, 2010, just before 9:30 p.m., troopers responded to the Food Lion grocery store, in the 6300-block of Monroe Avenue, Eldersburg, for an armed robbery. Witnesses told troopers a suspect walked to the service counter, told an employee he had a bomb in a plastic bag, and demanded money. The suspect left the store with a cash register drawer.
As part of the continuing investigation after Wilcox was arrested last week, State Police investigators served a search warrant at his home and continued to review evidence obtained in all three armed robberies. Evidence established during the investigation led to the charges against Wilcox for the two additional armed robberies for which he was charged today.
