Peter Schweizer: Hunter Biden Was ‘Stuffing His Pockets with Foreign Money’ While Dad Was Vice President
Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute and senior editor-at-large at Breitbart News, explained how Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s second son, consummated financial relationships with foreign states and oligarchs in China and Ukraine while his father “steered [foreign] policy” towards those two countries as vice president. He offered his analysis in a Saturday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday with host Matt Boyle.
“Why were these foreign governments and these foreign corrupt oligarchs stuffing money into Hunter Biden’s pocket?” asked Schweizer. “That’s why I have called for Hunter Biden to testify before a Senate committee.”
Schweizer has repeatedly advised the Senate to call on Hunted Biden to testify about the origins and nature of his financial relationships with the government of China via the state-owned Bank of China and Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.

Off-duty FDNY firefighter attacked by teens after defending elderly couple, cops say
A New York City Firefighter sustained a concussion and several broken teeth Saturday after police say he was assaulted while trying to stop a group of teens from harassing an elderly couple.
The 38-year-old off-duty firefighter was traveling on East 86th St. in Manhattan at around 9:25 a.m. Saturday when he noticed six teens “harassing” an elderly couple, a spokesperson with the New York City Police Department told Fox News.
The man reportedly tried to intervene -- and police say that’s when one unidentified member of the group punched the firefighter “with a closed fist,” knocking him to the ground. The suspect then continued assaulting the man while he was down, officials said.

Judicial Watch Scores a Victory Over Antifa Organizer, Who is Also a Middle School Teacher
Government watchdog Judicial Watch recently scored a legal victory over members of Antifa, a leftist anarchist group.
Antifa organizer and middle school teacher (!) Yvette Felarca, in addition to two of her comrades, has been ordered by a federal judge to pay a total of $26,000 in legal fees. The order came after Felarca filed a lawsuit against Judicial Watch and lost.
"Felarca had sued the BUSD [ Berkeley Unified School District] in federal court to keep the school district from fulfilling its legal obligation to provide Judicial Watch with records of their communications mentioning: Felarca, Antifa, and/or BAMN. Judicial Watch also asked for Felarca’s personnel file," Judicial Watch released Tuesday. "Felarca is a prominent figure in By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), a group founded by the Marxist Revolutionary Workers League that protests conservative speaking engagements. In 2016, Felarca and two of her allies were arrested and charged with several crimes, including felony assault, for inciting a riot in Sacramento. Earlier this year, Felarca was ordered to stand trial for assault."

Now It's Comey Vs. Lynch: Someone's Lying Again
Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch accused former FBI Director James Comey of lying about whether she told him to refer to the Hillary Clinton email investigation as a "matter" instead of an investigation in a September 2015 meeting.
While testifying last year at a closed-door House Oversight Committee hearing last June, Comey said Lynch had pressured him to minimize the significance of the Clinton email probe - an encounter which he says left him questioning her impartiality, and - along with Lynch's clandestine tarmac meeting on a hot summer's day in 2016 - contributed to his decision to hold a July 2016 press conference announcing the FBI's conclusions.
"The attorney general had directed me not to call it an investigation, but instead to call it a matter, which confused me and concerned me," said Comey. "That was one of the bricks in the load that led me to conclude, ‘I have to step away from the department if we’re to close this case credibly.'"

Ocean City Police Warning Residents and Business Owners of Counterfeit Currency
OCEAN CITY, MD – (May 22, 2019): The Ocean City Police Department is warning residents, business owners and employees to be on the lookout for counterfeit currency being circulated in Ocean City. In the past week, there have been two reports of counterfeit currency, including several counterfeit $100.00 bills. These bills either are marked as “play money” or have Chinese writing on both sides.
Ocean City police are encouraging citizens to closely examine currency by looking carefully at the money being exchanged. When receiving a $100 bill for a very small purchase, examine the currency. Often times, suspects will pass the counterfeit bill to exchange it for real currency, not necessarily to purchase big-ticket items. Also, business owners are reminded that counterfeit detection pens very often generate false results. Counterfeiters can use bleached genuine currency or coat counterfeit notes to prevent the proper chemical reactions.
In addition, the Federal Reserve Board offers these tips to detect suspicious or counterfeit currency:
Feel the paper. Genuine U.S. currency has a unique feel. The note should feel slightly rough to the touch. If the currency feels different than what you are used to, examine it closer.
Tilt the note back and forth to observe the color-shifting ink in the right-hand corner of denominations $10 or higher. Most bills will shift from copper to green.
Check the watermark and security thread by holding the currency up to a light. A watermark should be visible from both sides and will match the portrait or denomination. A security thread should also be visible from both sides and match the denomination. When held to UV light, the security thread will glow a unique color.
For more information about U.S. currency and how to detect a counterfeit note, visit www.uscurrency.gov.
‘TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN FIRST’: CARSON DEFENDS PLAN TO EVICT ILLEGALS FROM GOVERNMENT HOUSING
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson pushed back against a bevy of criticism from Democratic lawmakers over a White House proposal that would exclude all illegal immigrants from public housing.
Carson testified in the House Financial Services Committee on Tuesday to discuss a range of topics. Numerous Democrats attacked the Republican for his involvement in a plan that, according to a recent HUD study, could potentially kick as many as 55,000 legal children out of their homes.
“The Trump Administration’s proposal puts mixed-status families at risk of being evicted, separated, and left homeless,” committee chairwoman Maxine Waters said during the hearing. The California Democrat went on to call the plan a “cruel proposal.”

Ilhan Omar Trashes America: ‘Ignorance Is Really Pervasive In Many Parts Of This Country’
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) once again took a shot at Americans on Tuesday when she said during a podcast that "ignorance" was prevalent in "many parts of this country."
Speaking about the process that refugees go through, Omar claimed that Republicans were "really good at misinformation and sort of really reorganizing facts to sort of paint a picture that really eventually is not rooted in fact."
"And so it is not that they might not be knowledgeable about this, but they use it as a tool to stir up hate and division," Omar continued. "And ignorance really is pervasive in many parts of, of this country."
Omar has faced backlash on a near weekly basis for anti-Semitic comments and the Democratic leadership has defended her by claiming she was ignorant about the type of words that are used in the U.S., saying that Omar has "a different experience in the use of words, and doesn't understand that some of them are fraught with meaning."

Judicial Watch Sues DOJ For Secret FBI Chart of ‘Potential Violations of Law’ by Hillary Clinton in Her Use of a Private Server
Judicial Watch announced in February it received another tranche of documents from a January 2018 FOIA lawsuit that revealed the FBI actively covered up a ‘chart’ of potential violations by Hillary Clinton.
Three days after then-FBI Director James Comey’s July 2016 press conference where he usurped the DOJ and exonerated Hillary Clinton, a July 8 2016 email chain reveals a Special Counsel to the FBI’s executive assistant director in charge of the National Security Branch, whose name is redacted, wrote to Peter Strzok and other officials that he was creating a “chart” of Hillary Clinton’s violations they found during the investigation and reasons to NOT prosecute.
Neither the chart of Hillary Clinton’s potential violations nor the talking points drafted by the FBI officials have ever been released.
Judicial Watch is also suing for draft copies of talking points prepared by the FBI for its officials to use following Comey’s July 2016 press conference during which he recommended against prosecuting Clinton for mishandling classified information, said the watchdog group in a blog post.

Pennsylvania State University professor who moonlights as an Uber driver has been arrested AGAIN for the kidnapping a THIRD woman
An Uber driver in Pittsburgh has been accused of kidnapping a third woman on the same night that he was arrested for allegedly locking two women in his car and trying to drive them somewhere that was not the destination they requested.
Richard Lomotey, a 36-year-old assistant professor at Pennsylvania State University, was arrested on Monday and charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint, simple assault and reckless endangerment of another person, according to a court document obtained by DailyMail.com.
The married father-of-two was first arrested on May 11 and booked on two counts each of kidnapping, false imprisonment and harassment for the incident involving two other women.
A third woman came forward on May 16 after hearing about the other arrest and alleged in a criminal complaint that Lomotey tried to prevent her from leaving his car after she got in the front seat, that her 'her shirt and bra were ripped' during a struggle and she was forced to jump from the moving vehicle.

Impeachment is now the only play the Left has
I have had it up to here with the Democratic Party, now investing all its energy in destroying Donald Trump even if it means doing irreparable harm to the country and the presidency. And it's about to get worse.
Color me unsurprised. Schumer, Pelosi, their congressional cohorts, their peevish billionaire backers, their unserious presidential aspirants, their angry base, their media sycophants, and their Deep State allies — none of them gives a fig about the damage their cause is doing to America's tradition of constitutional governance. It's about power, not principle.
Plenty of ordinary people who inhabit the Left's echo chamber believe they're on the side of the angels. You know them — the cousins, siblings, friends who refuse to entertain any information that contradicts their beliefs. The Progressives' pawns. In their millions, they're about to be enlisted in the Democrats' last-ditch attempt to nullify Trump's election.

U.S. HHS Final Rule Seeks to Allow Refusal to Provide Necessary Health Care on Basis of “Religious, Moral, Ethical, or Other” Beliefs
BALTIMORE, MD (May 21, 2019) – Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh has joined a coalition of 23 cities, states, and municipalities filing a lawsuit today against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services challenging a Final Rule issued by the Department. This Rule expands the ability of businesses and individuals to refuse to provide necessary health care based on “religious beliefs or moral convictions.”
The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of New York, seeks to enjoin the Final Rule and prevent it from going into effect. The suit follows a comment letter filed in March 2018 by a coalition of state attorneys general urging that the rule be withdrawn.
“Marylanders have a right to quality care that is delivered based on medical needs, not based upon personal preferences of health providers,” said Attorney General Frosh. “This rule is illegal and unconstitutional.”

Are We Finally Going to Find Out If Democrat Governor Northam Was in KKK Garb or Blackface?
In February, a photo from Democrat Governor Ralph Northam's Eastern Virginia Medical School yearbook page was revealed. In it there are two men, one dressed in black face and the other in KKK garb. The photo had to be approved by an editor and the student, in this case Northam, before publication.
Northam initially admitted to being in the photo, but was careful not to say what he was wearing. He issued an apology.
“Earlier today, a website published a photograph of me from my 1984 medical school yearbook in a costume that is clearly racist and offensive. I am deeply sorry for the decision I made to appear as I did in this photo and for the hurt that decision caused then and now," he said. “This behavior is not in keeping with who I am today and the values I have fought for throughout my career in the military, in medicine, and in public service. But I want to be clear, I understand how this decision shakes Virginians’ faith in that commitment. I recognize that it will take time and serious effort to heal the damage this conduct has caused. I am ready to do that important work. The first step is to offer my sincerest apology and to state my absolute commitment to living up to the expectations Virginians set for me when they elected me to be their Governor.”

Fetal Heartbeat Laws Don’t Take Away a Woman’s 'Right' She Never Had in the First Place
Now that Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has signed her state’s “controversial” heartbeat bill, the spirits of pro-life advocates who want to protect pre-born babies are buoyed, while others are lamenting “lost rights” and protesting with shouts of “My body, my choice!”
In fact, some media outlets report that “anti-abortion activists” are winning across the country, as similar measures are underway in Missouri, Utah and Louisiana.
This might create ire among the liberal left and Hollywood elite, but I believe the founders who gave us America would applaud these pro-life laws.
Where do women’s rights end, and where do human rights begin? It’s not about anyone’s constitutional protection of rights or privacy, but the issue is natural law. We are endowed by our Creator with the right to life. God gives us the right to be born and to live. Unless it is an issue of national defense or self-defense, we do not legitimately have the right to take the life of another person. When we are talking about the life of the mother, that’s one thing. When we are talking about the convenience of the mother and father, that’s something completely different.
In mandating that none of us have the right to murder another person, that doesn’t mean we have lost any rights. These pro-life bills do not take away the rights of women. They never had the right to murder another human being in the first place. It’s a national tragedy that nobody is talking about this fact—you can’t understand the impetus of the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and the Constitution unless you pre-suppose there are moral absolutes and natural law.

Mob Of Somali Teens Attacks Train Passengers With Hammers In Omar’s District
A mob of eight to 10 males wielding hammers descended upon bystanders at the East Bank Light Rail station on Friday night injuring several, according to recorded police dispatch audio.
The incident was apparently reported to 911 just before 10 p.m. on Friday according to the audio and other social media police scanner reports. A 9:48 p.m. Facebook post on 2nd Precinct Minneapolis Crime Watch page said that University of Minnesota (U of M) police were requesting assistance from Minneapolis police (MPD) and Metro Transit police for “a group of 8-10 males chasing people with hammers” and that some people were injured. A Facebook post a minute later on Minneapolis Scanner page said that the three police departments were responding to “multiple [911] calls” about “10-12 Somali teen males armed with hammers chasing people,” also with “several injuries reported.” Both Facebook pages regularly post summaries of police scanner audio.
A person who claimed on social media to have been at the station when the incident occurred said that the group of males had “hammers and bars,” and that they seemed to be “attacking anyone who looked like they had money or were white.” The witness, who said he isn’t white, said he didn’t want to “[take] on a bunch of dudes with blunt objects,” and that he “hurried an older white lady away” and they walked a few blocks to catch a bus.

Tucker Carlson: Rep. Omar, a Somali refugee, embodies our 'failed immigration system'
Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Friday maligned Rep. Ilhan Omar, the first Somali refugee elected to Congress, as “a symbol of America’s failed immigration system if there ever was one.”
Mr. Carlson made the comment on his prime-time cable program after Ms. Omar, Minnesota Democrat, recently called for dismantling the U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and halting deportations.
“Someone who hates this country – coming here at public expense – spent yesterday demanding the abolition of ICE, the decriminalization of illegal immigration itself and an end to all deportation programs,” Mr. Carlson said about the congresswoman.
“She demands open borders, the unlimited arrival of anyone who wants to come to America whether they have anything to contribute or not and by the way you get to pay for it. And if you don’t want to, you’re a bigot,” Mr. Carlson continued. “Well you know what this is really about, of course. It’s not about civil rights. That’s a joke. It’s about money and power. Their money, their power.”

Obama Judge Backs Democrat Subpoena Showdown
House Democrats have made no secret of their obsession with seeing President Donald Trump removed from office. Even after Robert Mueller’s two-year investigation came up empty, Democrat cries for impeachment have only gotten louder. Rejecting Mueller’s findings, Democrats led by House Judiciary Committee Chair Rep. Jerry Nadler have only upped their partisan zeal against Trump’s presidency, issuing subpoenas for a slew of Trump’s personal financial documents dating back to 2011. Trump has refused to comply, calling the move what it is — a politically motivated witch hunt and not legitimate oversight.
Indeed, what actual crime or criminal behavior are the Democrats seeking to investigate? It would seem the only real answer is the “crime” of defeating Hillary Clinton. But the Democrats bloviate about Congress’s oversight authority, as if this grants them carte blanche authority over the executive branch.
However, the Democrats’ vacuous justifications for targeting Trump have been rewarded by Judge Amit Mehta, appointed by Barack Obama, to whom Mehta also donated. The Obama judge ruled against Trump’s refusal to submit to the Democrats’ subpoena, writing, “Congress plainly views itself as having sweeping authority to investigate illegal conduct of a President, before and after taking office. This court is not prepared to roll back the tide of history.”

Senators ask why the ‘American Taliban’ is getting out of prison early
A bipartisan team of senators is asking the Trump administration why the convicted terrorist who became known as the “American Taliban” is about to get early release from federal prison.
And the questions are coming in part from the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
Republican Sen. Richard C. Shelby of Alabama and Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire have lots of questions for the Trump administration about the expected release on May 23 from federal prison of John Walker Lindh.
The bipartisan senators have asked Hugh Hurwitz, the acting director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, to answer several questions about preparations for the release of convicted terrorists.
“We write to express concern over the anticipated release of convicted American Taliban fighter John Walker Lindh and request information about what steps the U.S. government is taking to ensure public safety,” Shelby and Hassan wrote in their Friday letter.

Biden Promises Taxpayer Funding for Abortion
Democrat frontrunner Joe Biden has withdrawn his support for the Hyde amendment, which prohibits federal funding of abortion, saying he would abolish the amendment if elected president.
Despite his consistent support for pro-abortion legislation, Mr. Biden has always voted against taxpayer funding for the procedure, a position he now repudiates, noted John McCormack in the National Review.
Asked on video about his current stance regarding the 1976 Hyde Amendment, Biden told an ACLU volunteer he was committed to abolishing the provision, saying: “It can’t stay.”
Biden’s move to embrace taxpayer funding of abortion is just the latest step in an ongoing evolution on the issue.
As The New York Times noted, Mr. Biden was pro-life when he began his Senate career in 1973 and argued at the time that the Supreme Court had gone “too far” in the Roe v. Wade decision.

U.S. Intel Warns Iran Plotting ‘Tactical Surprise’ Attacks in Gulf
Intelligence indicates that the Iranian regime is using its terror proxy groups to conduct attacks on ships operating in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical Persian Gulf shipping lane that has become the center of international tensions as Tehran seeks to foment instability in reaction to President Donald Trump's efforts to strangle the hardline regime.
U.S. intelligence collected over the past month had indicated that Iran has been installing missiles on small vessels in the Gulf region. Tehran is relying on a large network of terror proxies and allies to attack not only commercial vessels in the region, but also U.S. military assets stationed there.
Iran has a long history of conducting terror attacks in this manner, fueling worry in the Trump administration that Tehran could carry out a large-scale attack via its terror networks. In just the past two years, Iran has been identified as being responsible for at least 143 attacks against shipping vessels in the Gulf, according to expert analyses of the ongoing tensions in the region.

Michael Cohen sought 'pre-pardon' from Trump
Michael Cohen told Congress that he raised the possibility of President Trump issuing a “pre-pardon” to protect himself and other people who were in danger of being snared in the Russia probe.
Cohen, in transcripts of testimony to the House intelligence committee released Monday evening, said he was the one to raise the possibility with Jay Sekulow, a lawyer for Mr. Trump.
“I had said to him, you know, what .. well, you know, there’s always the possibility of a pre-pardon,” Cohen told the committee.
The idea was ultimately rejected, but Cohen’s admission contradicts his vehement testimony to the House Oversight Committee in public a day earlier, when he insisted he’d never asked for a pardon.

ICE seeks custody of teen murder suspects for a second time
BALTIMORE – Following the recent arrest of two unlawfully present teens suspected in the violent murder of a young girl in Maryland, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers in Baltimore are again seeking to take custody of the illegal aliens through the ICE detainer process following the Prince George’s County Detention Center’s (PGCDC) failure to cooperate.
Josue Rafael Fuentes-Ponce and Joel Ernesto Escobar, both Salvadoran nationals, were previously arrested on May 11, 2018 when they were arrested by Prince George’s County Police Department (PGCPD) for attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, participation in gang activity, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted robbery, and other related charges. ICE officers lodged a detainer with PGCDC, however both were released on an unknown date and time without notification to ICE.
On May 16, 2019, PGCPD arrested the same individuals and charged them with first-degree murder.
“As law enforcement officers, we must continue to serve and protect the American public and act in the interest of public safety first,” said Baltimore Field Office Director Diane Witte. “These individuals had demonstrated violent criminal behavior before, and because they were released in spite of the lawful detainer, they were afforded an opportunity to take a life.”
ICE officers have again lodged detainers with PGCDC and will again seek to take custody of these public safety threats pending the outcome of their criminal proceedings.
Fuentes initially arrived in the U.S. on Dec. 23, 2015 as part of a family unit in Texas. They were ultimately paroled into the U.S. pending the outcome of the immigration case. On March 16, 2017, an immigration judge ordered Fuentes removed in absentia, yet he remained.
Escobar was found by immigration officials to be an unlawfully present unaccompanied juvenile on Aug. 23, 2016, near McAllen, Texas. Escobar was transferred to the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, and later released to a family member in the Washington, D.C. area.
Spygate: Obama Admin Cut Situation Room’s Video Feed During Meetings on Russia Investigation
Comments made by Attorney General William Barr about extraordinary arrangements regarding the original handling of the Russia investigation may take on more significance in light of a previous report showing a high and unusual degree of compartmentalization in the Obama-era intelligence community’s initial intel set up of the Russia probe.
In an interview with Fox News that aired Friday, Barr commented that the intelligence community’s early handling of the Russia investigation may raise questions. He noted it was first handled at a “very senior level” and then by a “small group.”
Barr stated:
Deep inside a 7,700-plus word Washington Post article published June 23, 2017, the newspaper detailed the highly compartmentalized nature of the original Russia interference investigation and the manner in which other U.S. intelligence agencies were deliberately kept in the dark.
According to the newspaper, in the summer of 2016, CIA Director John Brennan convened a “secret task force at CIA headquarters composed of several dozen analysts and officers from the CIA, the NSA and the FBI.”
The Post described the unit as so secretive it functioned as a “sealed compartment” hidden even from the rest of the U.S. intelligence community; a unit whose workers were all made to sign additional non-disclosure forms.

Barr stated:
"The thing that’s interesting about this is that this was handled at a very senior level of these departments. It wasn’t handled in the ordinary way that investigations or counterintelligence activities are conducted. It was sort of an ad hoc, small group — and most of these people are no longer with the FBI or the CIA or the other agencies involved. I think there’s a misconception out there that we know a lot about what happened. The fact of the matter is, Bob Mueller did not look at the government’s activities."

Central American Towns Empty as Migrants Rush to U.S. Border
Guatemala’s towns are emptying out as a growing number of migrants head north to accept the Democrat Party’s offer of open-border loopholes and low-wage jobs, say a growing number of local reports.
Roughly one percent of Guatemala’s population has migrated to the United States’ border since September 2018, according to the Department of Homeland Security. That adds up to roughly 170,000 migrants, and roughly one-third of those migrants come from the neighboring rural districts of Huehuetenango and San Marcos.
The result of these U.S. government policies is that many villages have empty homes, fatherless families, absent men, and minimal investment.
This massive loss of young people minimizes opposition to the country’s weak government and deters foreign investment in the nation.

Democracy Alliance Members Fund ‘American Oversight’ Investigations of Trump
Two members of the Democracy Alliance contributed seed money in 2017 to a new organization created to file hundreds of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests in hopes of unearthing scandal on the Trump administration.
Recent IRS disclosures show $280,000 in combined donations from Democracy Alliance members Patricia (Pat) Stryker and Scott Wallace to the nonprofit American Oversight, which bills itself as the "top Freedom of Information Act litigator investigating the Trump administration."
IRS 990 forms show that money is just shy of ten percent of the $3.44 million assembled for the first-year launch of American Oversight, which currently claims to have lodged more than 100 FOIA lawsuits in its quest for documents on the current administration.
American Oversight has portrayed itself as nonpartisan since its inception despite relying on funding from prominent members of the progressive Democracy Alliance, members of which agree to donate heavily to liberal causes, and the focus of its mission.

Virginia Lawmaker Connected to Anti-Semitic Groups
A member of the Virginia legislature and former volunteer for Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) is connected to multiple anti-Semitic organizations and is the son of a Hamas fundraiser.
Democrat Del. Ibraheem Samirah —who received sympathetic national coverage this week after alleging harassment for his Muslim faith at a town hall—has supported multiple virulently anti-Semitic and anti-Israel organizations, once speaking at a Hamas-affiliated conference.
Samirah is a vocal supporter of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, which seeks to use economic and political pressure against Israel. In a 2014 Facebook post, Samirah urged friends to support the BDS movement while Israel was "most exposed."
As a student at American University and then Boston University, Samirah was an active member of Students for Justice in Palestine. He credits the organization with helping convince students that "Israel REALLY sucks."

Former University of Oregon football star Keanon Lowe said he had just entered a classroom at the Portland high school where he works as a coach and security guard when a student armed with a black shotgun appeared in the doorway.
Lowe had just seconds Friday to react. He lunged at the gunman and wrestled with him for the weapon as other students ran screaming out a back door, Lowe told reporters Monday at a news conference.
Lowe said he managed to get the gun away from the student and pass it to a teacher while Lowe held down the student with his other hand. Lowe wrapped the student in a bear hug until police arrived, he said.
The suspect, 19-year-old Angel Granados-Diaz, pleaded not guilty Monday during a brief court hearing to a felony count of possessing a weapon in a public building and three misdemeanors.
His public defender, Grant Hartley, declined to comment.
Granados-Diaz turned 19 in jail on Monday.

Death of illegal immigrant teen ramps up pressure on Democrats
The death of a 16-year-old Guatemalan illegal immigrant in Border Patrol custody on Monday raised the stakes for border security in Congress, where lawmakers are trying to figure out whether to give President Trump some of the $4.5 billion in emergency money he’s demanding to help deal with the migrant surge.
The teen, identified as Carlos Gregorio Hernandez Vasquez, was caught sneaking into the country as part of a group of more than 70 people on May 13 and was in Border Patrol custody for a week — more than twice as long as the law allows.
His illness was diagnosed as the flu Sunday, he was prescribed Tamiflu and he was discovered unresponsive Monday morning. Efforts to revive him failed. Illnesses are a major danger at the border detention facilities, which have become overcrowded as children and families surge north in record numbers, drawn to the U.S. by lax enforcement policies.
A government official said they had been trying to get the teen placed with the federal Health and Human Services Department, as the law requires, but an equally overwhelmed HHS wasn’t able to immediately place the boy in one of its shelters.
President Trump, reacting to the news, blamed Democrats for inviting the surge of vulnerable people.

Sacklers fleeing NYC following family’s OxyContin scandal
Former Manhattan society staples David and Joss Sackler are fleeing town and heading to Florida in a bid to escape the imperishable stain of their scandal-soaked family’s OxyContin business.
David — whose family’s company, Purdue Pharma, is accused of igniting the opioid crisis by aggressively marketing the powerful painkiller, then directing efforts to mislead the public about its dangers and addictive powers — and wife Joss had lived it up in a $6.5 million Upper East Side apartment.
The couple were mainstays on the New York social scene, big art patrons and donors to major museums including the Met, which named a wing after them.
