Trump attorney Marc Kasowitz to file James Comey complaint early as next week
President Trump's legal team plans to file its complaint against former FBI Director James Comey with the Justice Department inspector general and the Senate Judiciary Committee as early as next week.
A source close to Trump outside counsel Marc Kasowitz's team said they are "looking toward next week" to file the complaint. Lawyers are working to make sure the submissions are "thorough and complete," the source told the Washington Examiner on Friday.
Trump's legal team began planning to file a complaint against Comey after his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier this month.
In his testimony, Comey said the White House defamed him and expressed concern that Trump "might lie" about the nature of one of their meetings. The fired FBI director also admitted to sharing memos he had written detailing his conversations with Trump with a friend so that he would release them to the press.
Following the testimony, Trump accused Comey of lying and leaking information.
"Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication...and WOW, Comey is a leaker!" Trump tweeted.

OOPS: Clinton Foundation Admits It Took $1 Million From Qatar And Forgot To Tell The Government
Among the thousands of emails hacked from Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign chairman John Podesta and published by Wikileaks, one stated that officials from the government of Qatar gave the Clinton Foundation $1 million to celebrate Bill Clinton’s 65th birthday, funds which the foundation did not report to the State Department.
That would seemingly violate an ethics agreement Hillary Clinton signed when she became Secretary of State in 2009, in which she promised the foundation would notify the State Department's ethics official if a new foreign government wanted to donate or "increase materially" its contributions.

15,000 cited for illegally passing Montgomery Co. school buses
WASHINGTON — Fresh data from Montgomery County Public Schools show in detail the staggering number of drivers who break the rules by speeding past stopped school buses that are picking up or dropping off children.
Figures released this month show that 15,446 drivers were ticketed over the course of the latest school year, 2016-2017.
That is compared to fewer than 3,000 tickets issued during the previous year.
“It’s just horrifying,” said Todd Watkins, transportation director for the county’s school system. “You know in your heart what that could have ended up being. That could have ended up being a dead child.”

These Teens Handcuffed for Selling Bottled Water Is Everything Wrong With Government
Lemonade stands, paper routes, and bake sales seem yet destined for the dustbin of history, thanks to an imperious State, which — to its sanctimonious detriment — manages to pull off seemingly impossible PR predicaments of its own making, like the handcuffing of teenagers for selling bottled water on the National Mall without a permit Thursday evening.
Yes. Seriously.
Perched atop chains interlinking fence posts lining the walk near Smithsonian Castle, three justifiably perplexed Black youth, wrists in handcuffs behind their backs can be seen speaking with U.S. Park Police — bottles of water resting in an evidence bin, nearby.
Tweeted by tour guide, Tim Krepp, as he passed the scene, photos of the three, aged 16 and 17, would appear to any casual observer without context to be a possible apprehension of at least petty criminals — not the three kids hawking bottled water for a few extra dollars to willing Washington, D.C., tourists on a hot day, that the incident actually was.

No easy way to measure federal employee compensation, CBO says
There’s no easy to way to calculate just how much government spends on federal employee compensation, and there’s no simple solution if lawmakers want to find ways to close compensation gaps between the public and private sector.
That’s the general message the Congressional Budget Office recently sent in a series of responses to the Senate Budget Committee’s questions for the record following a May hearing on “ways to run the government for less.” During that hearing, some senators focused on CBO’s latest study comparing federal employee compensation to the private sector.
CBO found a 17 percent compensation disparity between federal employees and their counterparts in the private sector, according to its April 2017 report. Moving the federal workforce to a defined contribution plan may partly close the gap between the public and private sectors, though the government wouldn’t see the savings immediately, CBO Director Keith Hall told the Senate committee back in May.

Anne Arundel signs 287(g) pact to assist in screening prisoners for immigration violations
Anne Arundel County and federal immigration enforcement officials have reached an agreement that will add the county to a list of jurisdictions that screen inmates in local jails for immigration violations.
Federal officials finalized a 287(g) contract with the county on Monday, according to a memorandum of agreement released by County Executive Steve Schuh's office.
Under the deal, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an arm of the Department of Homeland Security, will train county correctional officers to use federal databases that screen new inmates for immigration violations, warrants and prior crimes.
A Schuh spokesman framed the agreement earlier this year as part of a "moderate and measured approach" to immigration enforcement.

Grassley: Chuck Schumer Knew Trump Wasn’t Under Investigation but Said He Was Anyway
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) blasted Democrats on Thursday — particularly Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) — for fueling media hysteria, knowing full well President Trump was not under investigation for collusion with Russia.
In a statement delivered on the Senate floor, Grassley said that in March, former FBI Director James Comey had told him, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), and the group of Senate and House members known as the “Gang of Eight” that the president was not under investigation.
But Schumer, who is part of the Gang of Eight, continued to tell the media Trump was under investigation, Grassley said.
“That helped feed the media hysteria,” he said. “The Minority Leader even tried to say that the Senate shouldn’t vote on the Supreme Court nomination because the president was under investigation. And the whole time, he knew it wasn’t true.”

Director of Play That Assassinated Trump Character Gets Death Threats
The director who oversaw the production of Julius Caesar that included the assassination of a character designed to represent President Donald Trump is now getting death threats.
Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis, who had said the play was crafted to illustrate “an anxiety nightmare parable about our current state, and that’s why it looks the way it looks,” has denied the play is designed to show Trump being assassinated.
However, conservative protesters have stormed the play during its run at New York City’s Central Park, and the performance was denounced by many as an effort to encourage violence against conservative politicians

Palestinian Authority: Payments to Terrorists a ‘Social Responsibility’
Ynetnews reports: Speaking in the name of Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, PA spokesman Nabil Shaath said the Palestinians have a “social responsibility” to offer monetary payouts to the families of prisoners in Israeli jails because they are “political prisoners,” and that the payouts are the PA’s way of “look(ing) after innocent people affected by the incarceration or killing of their loved ones as a result of the military occupation.”
Israeli victims of Palestinian terror were quick to respond, blasting Shaath for defending payments to terrorists, saying his speech showed the true face of the Palestinian political leadership.

National Reciprocity: GOP Reps. Must Adopt ‘America First’ Not ‘Congress First’
National reciprocity legislation has been sitting in Congress since January 3, 2017, and we have heard of a growing roster of co-sponsors but little else. Then suddenly, following the June 14 attack in Alexandria, numerous Republican Congressional members were consumed with national reciprocity.
But the problem is that many House members now focused on national reciprocity are consumed with special carry privileges for Congress; carry privileges the common man will never enjoy.
For example, Breitbart News reported that Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX) put forward post-Alexandria legislation that will give congressmen “the ability to attempt to qualify for a concealed carry permit – either through their home state or a training program created by the United States Capitol Police (USCP).” And for those who acquire a permit, the bill will:
Direct the USCP to grant Members of Congress the ability to concealed carry in nearly every conceivable scenario – including federal parks and buildings, the national mall, to and from their offices, at schools and military bases – with only a few limited restrictions. These would include National Special Security Events, other areas under the direct jurisdiction of the Secret Service and commercial airliners.

The Antithesis of Obstruction
National Review: Trump did not obstruct a valid FBI investigation; he demanded the exposure of a false one.
The “collusion” narrative was a fraud, plain and simple. We know that now. Hopefully, it won’t take another six months to grasp a second plain and simple truth: Collusion’s successor, the “obstruction” narrative, is a perversion.
The Left loves narrative. The ever-expanding story manipulates time, space, and detail to fit a thematic framework. Political narrative has some surface appeal, but it is deeply flawed. It obscures plain and simple truth.
So let’s stick with the plain and simple: The essence of obstruction is to frustrate the search for truth. Its antithesis is to demand the exposure of fraud.
Donald Trump’s political enemies are trying to build an obstruction case on the antithesis of obstruction: the president’s insistence that the collusion fraud be exposed.
Over a period of weeks, Trump came to understand what was being done to him. His exasperation was evident in his every bull-in-a-china-shop turn. An ardently pro-law-enforcement candidate, he came to office believing the FBI was in the fraud-exposure business. He thus could not comprehend why then–FBI director James Comey would not assure the public of what Comey was privately assuring both the president and the public’s representatives in Congress, namely: The notion that the president was a suspect was false. Implicitly, the narrative that Trump had colluded with Putin to steal the election was false.

Wicomico To Advance $320K For Library Improvements
SALISBURY – The Wicomico Public Libraries will receive $320,000 from the county in the form of a cash advance to fund capital improvements at its downtown branch until the state reimburses the library system for the projects.
In a legislative session of the Wicomico County Council Tuesday, Andrea Berstler, executive director of Wicomico Public Libraries, requested a $320,000 loan to improve and repair parts of the system’s downtown library.
Berstler said Wicomico Public Libraries received a $320,000 grant from the County Library Capital Grant Program to replace carpet and HVAC units, repair subflooring, and improve its public restrooms.
“The Capital Grants Program for libraries provides reimbursement funding for projects to build and repair library buildings,” she said. “Once the money is expended and a paid invoice is available, that can be submitted immediately for reimbursement. We don’t have to wait until the end of the year, or even the end of the month.”

Sealing and transfer of Susan Rice records angers House committee
House intelligence committee sources say career officials at the National Security Council are slow-walking the delivery of subpoenaed records on former National Security Adviser Susan E. Rice’s handling of classified information and the “unmasking” of Trump campaign workers — material from the Russian hacking probe that middle-level NSC managers claim was transferred to President Obama’s library and could “remain closed to the public for five years.”
One source, speaking only on the condition of anonymity, called the transfer curious and appeared to reflect an effort by former administration officials to obscure evidence on whether Ms. Rice and other top officials in the Obama White House illegally tried to identify which Trump campaign and transition aides had been caught up in the U.S. intelligence intercepts of Russian interference in the presidential race.
The two high-level intelligence committee sources told The Washington Times that they are confident the panel’s investigators, despite the delays, will eventually get their hands on the records shipped to a heavily secure archive for Mr. Obama’s yet-to-be-built presidential library.
A spokesman at the National Security Council would not directly address questions on the Rice case, saying only that the council’s staff is “still in the process of reviewing record requests” to ensure that any “executive privilege concerns” are taken into account.

Text Message Alerts To Police Weighed; Citizen Suggested Idea To Council After Seeing Similar System At Camden Yards
OCEAN CITY — If you see something, say something has been a popular catch phrase since the terror attacks in 2001, but if you see something, text something could become an added security feature in Ocean City in the future.
During the public comment period at Monday’s Mayor and Council meeting, a discussion arose about the continued crime problem in the downtown area during the early weeks of June when so many young people invade the resort. It’s no secret crime spikes up in early June along with all manner of illicit and illegal behavior. It happens every year and this year has been no different, but at least one local resident has offered a possible solution borrowed from a nearby Major League Baseball venue.
“I was at Camden Yards watching an Orioles game and the way they’ve been playing the last few weeks, your mind starts to wander and you notice other things,” local property owner Scott Chismar told the Mayor and Council on Monday. “Well, they put up on the big screen a number to text if you’re having a security issue. It’s a five-digit number to text if you have an issue with somebody in the stands or someone is acting up or out of control. You text the number with a brief message about your issue and security comes right over and handles it if necessary.”

Transgendered Track Star Proves We're All Insane
Imagine this: Your daughter has been training and running track for four years. She's a senior and she's made it to the state finals. College recruiters are in the stands and this is her day to shine (and possibly get a scholarship so you don't have to go bankrupt trying to fund her education). Except that doesn't happen for her because a boy, claiming to be a girl, handily steals the title from her. She's devastated, but when asked how she feels about it, she's terrified to be truthful that she (rightly) feels she was robbed by someone who shouldn't have been competing against her.
"I can't really say what I want to say, but there's not much I can do about it," Kate Hall said after the race, alluding to the fact that she had to compete against Andraya Yearwood, a biological boy.

Big insurer drops out of Maryland health exchange
In a letter sent to Gov. Larry Hogan, Cigna announced it is exiting Maryland's individual marketplace in 2018, writing, "Individual solutions have performed poorly since we have participated on the exchange, and our losses continue to increase year over year in Maryland."
"From the standpoint of competition, you never want to see anybody leave, so there's no way I can tell you it's good news or that it doesn't hurt," Maryland Insurance Administration Commissioner Al Redmer Jr. said.
Officials believe Cigna's departure will not be a significant disruption, because Cigna has fewer than 1 percent of enrollees, which is about 600 customers.

Every ethnic, racial group grew, but whites slowest
America is getting older and more racially diverse as white baby boomers give way to booming numbers of Hispanics and Asians.
Every racial group grew between 2015 and 2016, but the number of whites increased at the slowest rate - less than one hundredth of 1 percent or 5,000 people.
That is a fraction of the rates of growth for Hispanics, Asians and people who said they are multi-racial, according to estimates from the Census Bureau.

Trump Just Signed a VA Reform Bill. What Does It Mean for Veterans?
On Friday, President Donald Trump signed the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act of 2017, which empowers VA Secretary David Shulkin to fire bad employees. Following years of scandals, this bill is a victory for taxpayers and veterans alike, but it is only the first step toward real reform, at the VA and in the federal government generally.
"For many years the government failed to keep its promises," Trump declared before signing the bill. "Veterans were put on secret wait lists, given the wrong medication, given the bad treatments, and ignored in moments of crisis for them. Many veterans died waiting for a simple doctor's appointment." But "outdated laws kept the government from holding those who failed our veterans accountable."
Trump characterized the bill as "one of the largest reforms to the VA in its history. It's a reform that I campaigned on and now I am thrilled to sign that promise into law."

GAO Report: VA Employees Worked Over 1 MILLION Hours ... for Unions
In 2015, employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs worked over 1 million hours for unions, despite being paid for that time by taxpayers, according to arecent report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO). Worse, a full 346 employees spent 100 percent of their time working for unions.
"While veterans are dying waiting for care, there are hundreds of employees at the VA who are spending their time working for big-government unions that fight any attempt to fix the VA," Dan Caldwell, policy director at Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), said in a statement.
The GAO report cited data from fiscal year 2015 showing that "employees spent approximately 1,057,000 hours on official time for union representational activities, and according to VA officials, unions represented almost 290,000 bargaining unit employees across the agency during this time." Furthermore, "the data show that 346 employees spent 100 percent of their time on official time." "Official time" means time spent doing union work on the taxpayers' dime.

"Our Brand's Worse Than Trump" Democrats Demand "Toxic" Pelosi Step Aside, Trump Urges Her To Stay
Update: Nancy Pelosi does have one supporter who believes she should stay...
Democrats' embarrassing special-election loss in Georgia, after the liberal media built up unrealistic expectations, has provoked a wave of bitter blowback that targets House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi.
As Axios notes, it's part of a generational argument that's also driving the party's 2020 conversation.
“It was a very rough night for Nancy Pelosi,” said Sean Clegg, a Democratic strategist in San Francisco, adding that he was personally a big fan of hers.
“Republican messaging attacking Pelosi appeared to be more effective than Democratic messaging against Trump. That’s a problem going forward, and it’s going to be a challenge in House races particularly.”

Americans Are Dying With An Average Of $61,500 In Debt
According to a recent study, the average total household debt in America is just over $132,500, broken down as per the chart below...
... and thanks to the Fed's recent and ongoing rate increases, the repayment of said debt will become increasingly more difficult. So difficult, in fact, that most Americans will be saddled with a sizable chunk of it at the time of their death.
Actually, most already are.
According to December 2016 data from credit bureau Experian provided to credit.com, 73% of American consumers had outstanding debt when they were reported as dead. Those consumers carried an average total balance of $61,554, including mortgage debt.Without home loans, the average balance was $12,875.

Delaware Professor Says "Rich, White, Clueless, Male" Warmbier "Got Exactly What He Deserved"
University of Delaware professor claimed Wednesday that Otto Warmbier was typical of “rich, white, clueless males” and “got exactly what he deserved” at the hands of the North Koreans.
Dettwyler argues that while in North Korea, Warmbier had acted like a “spoiled, naive, arrogant U.S. college student who never had to face the consequences of his actions,” later describing him as having the “typical mindset of a lot of the young, white, rich, clueless males” she teaches. She also expressed surprise at the footage of Warmbier crying during his sentencing hearing, saying he should have expected the consequences he faced, and then complaining that not enough thought is given to “all the other people in North Korea who are suffering under a repressive government.”
Dettwyler explains that she is “a 62 year old college professor” who has been teaching “folks just like Otto” her entire life, declaring that “these are the same kids who cry about their grades” after refusing to study, “or instead of crying, they bluster and threaten their female professors.”

James Comey Visits The New York Times
Just hours after President Trump admitted he did not record any of his conversations with James Comey, the former FBI Director was spotted entering The New York Times office, in Times Square, NYC.
As The Daily Mail notes, Comey confessed to being the source of a leak to the Times about private, unorthodox meeting he had with the president before he was fired in June.
Comey, disguised behind dark sunglasses stared straight ahead as entered the Times Square office building, accompanied by his wife Patrice Failor.

If You Ever Wondered If The Rest Of The Local Media Follows Salisbury News...
When we broke the story about the Delaware Senator a couple days ago, (at least 24 hours before anyone else) I held back a story at the very same Salisbury airport that also happened the very same day.
I wanted to see if #1, were their sources any good. #2, would they get the SECOND story that was just as damning.
The answer to both was, NO.
You see, on the same day a man also boarded a plane. His baggage was being inspected before they were put underneath the plane when agents saw something very suspicious. They then boarded the plane and asked the man to come with them.
The next thing they knew, security was chasing the man on the tarmac and ultimately TASED the man.
Funny how NONE of the so called media got this story but it sure is telling to us here at Salisbury News. If it hadn't been for SBYNews breaking the story about the Senator, well, clearly it would've been swept under the rug.

California runner dies after race in 107F during heatwave
At least three people have died in California as a massive heatwave continues to hit the west coast and southwest region.
Benjamin R. Greene, a 48-year-old lawyer and father-of-nine from Bakersfield, collapsed shortly after he finished a 5k race on Tuesday night.
Temperatures were as high as 107F as the local attorney took part in the Bakersfield Track Club event. An off-duty firefighter performed CPR but he died at a hospital about 8:30pm.
His wife, Michelle, said she is still in shock and blamed the race organizer's for not calling the 'Summer Series' run off.
'He is never coming home, there is no changing this. My children will never get to really know their father,' she told BakersfieldNow.com.
'They weren’t prepared for medical emergencies knowing that there was a heat wave coming through Bakersfield.

Justice for Sister Cathy: The Keepers
As many of you know from my previous writings, criminal injustice has always found a soft spot in my psyche, largely because I generally believe in our Rule of Law. A program on Netflix, once again, has struck a chord within me because the grave miscarriage of our justice system stirs even for the most hardened of hearts.
Sister Catherine Cesnik is probably a name many of you haven't heard of before. Her tale actually began and ended many decades ago. Close to 48 years ago, she was brutally murdered and many believe it was priests in her own parish who either orchestrated, planned and/or executed the egregious murder. Most importantly was not how she died but the following cover up by the Baltimore Archdiocese that makes this crime even more unsettling.
It began in November 1969 when she went out one night to buy her little sister a special engagement present. Sister Cathy left her apartment in Catonsville, Maryland and never returned home. She was killed to cover up bigger violations but in her death, silence has proven to be moot.

U.S. Border Agents Warned of ‘Open Warfare’ with ‘Grenades’
Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) of South Texas are being warned about risks posed to them on the border by “open warfare” including grenade attacks occurring on the Mexican side. The warning echoes Breitbart Texas’s Cartel Chronicles reports on the bloody war occurring at the border between a faction of the Mexican Gulf Cartel and Mexican authorities.
The warning was issued by the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) to agents in the RGV Sector. It reads:
WARNING ADVISORY TO BORDER PATROL AGENTS IN RGV SECTOR
Recent events in Tamaulipas, Mexico, specifically in and around the city of Reynosa, pose a special risk to U.S. Border Patrol agents working in the region.
The Reynosa faction of the Mexican Gulf Cartel recently lost its leader and the group is engaging in open warfare with Mexican authorities and possibly with rival factions or other transnational criminal groups. Open source reports indicate gunbattles and use of grenades and other explosives in the fighting.
Border Patrol agents working the line in any station’s area of operations immediately across the largely open border from Reynosa, Mexico, are advised to employ extra caution in the performance of their duties. Stray rounds from firearms have previously injured U.S. law enforcement personnel on the border.
The majority, if not nearly all of U.S. media outlets have ignored and refused to report on the violence that has broken out along the U.S.-Mexico border..

Public Accounts by Friends Show James Comey Leaked While FBI Director
James Comey may have misled senators on May 3, when he testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee that he had never been an anonymous source in news reports related to the Russia investigation.
By that time, he had already leaked several private conversations he had with President Trump to his friend Benjamin Wittes, editor-in-chief of the blog Lawfare and former editorial writer for the Washington Post.
Wittes wrote in a piece on May 18, only nine days after Comey was fired, that the former FBI director had shared those conversations “over the previous few months.”

‘OPT’ Program Rewards Companies For Hiring 330,000 Foreign College Grads in 2016
The federal government quietly helped and rewarded companies and universities which hired roughly 330,000 cheap foreign graduates in 2016 instead of hiring American graduates, many of whom are deep in debt.
The little-known “Optional Practical Training” program has grown from 91,140 new foreign job-seekers in 2009 to 329,158 new job-seekers in 2016, according to data provided by the Department of Homeland Security. That is almost a four-fold increase in seven years — and the program is growing even larger in 2017.
There is no cap on the OPT program, which quietly and semi-automatically gives work permits lasting up to three years when requested by foreign students who graduate from U.S. universities and colleges. Companies are not required to even interview Americans before hiring OPT graduates — and they get tax breaks for hiring foreigners over Americans.

Gowdy Outraged, Slams Media Over Coats Leaks
An outraged Rep. Trey Gowdy on Thursday slammed the news media for leaks of DNI Dan Coats testimony to the House Intelligence Committee "before the transcript's even dry."
"Eight hours ago, Adam Schiff and I looked Dan Coats in the eyes – and we assured him that there would be no selective leaking of his testimony to us," the South Carolina Republican told Erin Burnett on CNN.
"And, I'll be damned if eight hours later there aren't three different leaks of what he told us.
"If anyone is questioning why congressional investigations aren't taken seriously, and are viewed as political exercises, you need to look no further than the fact that we looked one of our intelligence officials in the eyes and promised him there would be no selective leaking," Gowdy said.
"And here I'm being asked about it, not even eight hours later."
"There were eight people in the room," the representative said. "I can tell you who it was not."

New Youth Sportsplex In Pittsville Called ‘Great Asset’
OCEAN CITY – Business partners of the Mid-Atlantic Youth Sportsplex (MAYS) met with Ocean City officials and tourism industry leaders this month to share and to garner support for the new operation.
In a Tourism Commission meeting last Monday, John Barrett and Jay Phillips briefed committee members on the progress of the new sports complex and its potential to generate revenue for nearby Salisbury and Ocean City.
“Basically we are looking for support to bring clubs and families to the area,” Barrett said.
The 50-acre sports complex is located off of Morris Road in Pittsville, between Ocean City and Salisbury, and contains six full-size fields for tournament and league play. The business partners are using buildings located on the converted property as a clubhouse, registration and concierge buildings and more.

Deep State: Education Officials Quietly Push Transgender Ideology Onto Schools
An internal memo in the Department of Education says officials will investigate schoolteachers who do not comply with children’s demands to be called by the opposite-sex pronoun, for example, ‘her’ instead of ‘him.’
The instruction was part of a jargon-filled memo dated June 6, and signed by Candice Jackson, the Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights in the U.S. Education Department, which provides instructions to staff concerning “complaints involving transgender students.”
The memo tells department lawyers how to respond when they get complaints involving “transgender students.” It says the department’s left-wing lawyers can use recent and disputed federal court decisions — not the elected President’s popular policies — to justify high-pressure lawsuits against teachers who have normal attitudes about the equal, different and complementary status of males and females.

Ossoff Complains About ‘Money in Politics’ After Running Most Expensive House Race Ever
Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff decried "the role of money in politics" in an interview aired Tuesday, despite running the most expensive congressional campaign in history.
Ossoff made the comments to NPR on the morning of the special election in Georgia's sixth congressional district, which he lostlater that night to Republican Karen Handel after raising about five times more than her campaign. His campaign also spent nearly seven times more on advertisement time and other costs than Handel.
Still, Ossoff, who ended up losing by 3.8 percentage points, called money in politics a "major problem."
"The role of money in politics is a major problem and particularly the role of unchecked anonymous money," Ossoff told NPR host Rachel Martin. "There have been super PACs in Washington who have been putting up tens of millions of dollars of attack ads in here for months now."
Ossoff outspent his Republican opponent $22.2 million to $3.5 million on advertisements and other campaign expenses, according to an election-eve analysis by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Pelosi Under Fire from Dem Colleagues in Wake of Georgia Loss
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) is under fire from a number of her Democratic colleagues after another loss for their party in Tuesday night's special election in Georgia.
Democrat Jon Ossoff lost to Republican Karen Handel in the sixth district race to replace the seat vacated by Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price. Ossoff's candidacy was seen as Democrats' best chance of winning one of four off-year special elections prompted by appointments to Donald Trump's Cabinet, with some Democrats looking at a potential upset as a referendum on Trump himself.
Instead, Democrats have spent $35 million on the race in Georgia, another on Tuesday in South Carolina, and two more in Montana and Kansas. With an 0-4 record, Pelosi's colleagues are beginning to question whether more radical change is needed.
Rep. Tim Ryan (D., Ohio), an old opponent of Pelosi's, was somewhat circumspect in his criticism, saying that the party needed to reevaluate.
"We'd better take a good, long, strong look in the mirror and realize that the problem is us, it's the party," Ryan said while leaving a meeting on Wednesday morning.

LEGENDARY COMMENTS BY GEORGE CHEVALLIER 6-24-17
A Most Remarkable Woman
I have in my possession what I call “a poor woman’s cameo”. It is not made of finely carved stone but is made of celluloid. Depending on how you view it, it can be the silhouette of a woman or a flower. It does not hang from a fine gold or silver chain, but is adorned with only a simple ribbon. This was the best piece of jewelry my grandmother had at the turn of the 20th century. It clearly defines how she lived her entire life - very simple.
As all adolescents try various means of attracting attention, one attribute that God gave my grandmother was ample cleavage. Her mother always made her put a handkerchief under her dress to hide anything revealing when she went out. She confided to my sister one time that the handkerchief was quickly removed upon exiting the stern view of her mother.
She never learned to drive a car; she never was in an airplane. Her formal education ended after the third grade. But for all the shortages of adolescent advantages that children have today, she was born with a wisdom that is seldom encountered in this day and age.
As she got on in life and could afford it, she always bought two pairs of shoes at a time. One was for when she got dressed in the morning and the second was utilized after her noontime nap. The second pair was a half-size larger to allow for the normal swelling that would occur during the day. I have never heard of anyone else doing this.
When she weeded her garden, she always shook the weed before casting it in the driveway for later pick-up. I asked her about this one time, and she said she could grow more weeds but she could not grow more dirt; therefore she saved it.
The only thing I have from her house is one of those small “pinked edge” signs that were sold in souvenir shops of the day. It is still on my computer as the screen-saver. It is a motto to live by – “Happiness is liking what you’re doing – not doing what you like.” You would think that when she finally passed in 1986 at 98 years old, she would have a house full of antiques. She had none. All her life, she replaced anything old with something new when she could afford it. She had absolutely no sentimentality about anything. She told me one time that there are two things that you should never do – cry or worry – because neither one of them ever solved a damned thing. Think about it!
I asked her one time when she was in her early nineties what was her formula for life. She always seemed to have everything under control. Her reply was, “I sleep when I’m tired, I eat when I’m hungry and I do something when I damn well feel like it”.
She was deaf for the last 60 years of her life. When I inquired of her one time if that bothered her she said it didn’t because people don’t have much to say anyway and, if it was that important, they would put it in the newspaper. Watching television with her was quite an experience. She never had the sound on and, due to the fact that color TV would “give you cancer”, she only watched it in black and white. Yet, she could tell from the expressions of the actors or newscasters just what was going on.
This was my grandmother – one of the most remarkable women I have ever known.

Democrats Wanted the Georgia Congressional Race to Be a Referendum on Trump. Whoops.
Media members constantly said Democrats hoping for a Jon Ossoff upset victory in Georgia's sixth congressional district considered the race a "referendum" on the turbulent presidency of Donald Trump.
After all, Trump's approval rating is at a record-low for someone at this early a period in their administration, and his agenda has been stalled while the Russia investigation continues to dominate Washington.
Yet, the referendum talk backfired after Republican Karen Handel defeated Ossoff by four percentage points in the most expensive U.S. House race in history. Despondent Democrats were frustrated over the flood of money that went into the fourth losing effort in a congressional race during the Trump presidency, and the president himself was jubilant in victory.

North Korea's Kim Jong Un uses terrifyingly creative methods to kill enemies
From siccing wild dogs on his own uncle to gunning down his enemies with artillery meant for taking out planes, North Korea's Kim Jong Un has built a reputation for dispatching with extreme prejudice all those who cross him.
While some of the terrifying methods of execution have never been confirmed, the mere mention of them is sure to keep his inner circle in line - and any potential rivals quiet, say experts. A confirmed favorite tactic, blowing people away with anti-aircraft guns, leave victims unrecognizable.

"Because there are several guns bound together, it would be hard to find the body after firing it once," Hong Hyun-ik, chief researcher at the Sejong Institute, a security think tank based in Seoul, told local broadcaster YTN in 2015. "It's really gruesome."
In late February, South Korean officials revealed that five North Korean officials had been subjected to the particularly grisly form of overkill. Other methods trickle out of the secretive Hermit Kingdom, their unverified status only burnishing the legend of Kim's depravity.

Joy Villa to Anti-Trump Celebrities: ‘Try Being in His Shoes Before You Talk Bad About Him’
WASHINGTON – Singer Joy Villa, who made headlines after wearing a “Make America Great Again” dress to the Grammy Awards, said Hollywood celebrities should put themselves in President Trump’s shoes before they publicly criticize him.
Villa said she supports Trump’s travel ban and that it’s not discriminatory toward Muslims.
“I think whatever protects America is the best for America. We love our neighbors, but we don't let them into our house with guns, knives and bullets to hurt us, so just like we have locked doors, we do need locked borders. I strongly believe in that and it's a temporary measure, and it's something that will increase the pressure on those countries to really eradicate terrorism and go through their own and say, ‘hey listen, we're getting pressure, we can't travel because of a few small evil people, just a very small percentage, two percent,’ so they're going to go in and start cleaning out those people,” she said during an interview with PJM at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s "Road to Majority" conference.

Gay Activists Are Gunning for Your Church Now
They said they just wanted "equality" and that they would never come for our houses of worship. The gay lobby insisted that all they wanted was "rights" and "marriage" and then they would be happy. It was presented as, "If you like your religion you can keep your religion if you give us what we want." Did you believe that? I didn't. I had a feeling they wouldn't be satisfied until they were standing on the smoldering ruins of religious traditions and people.
The Mormons are next on the hit list, it seems. The LGBT lobby, which is unarguably one of the most repulsive social justice warrior organizations, is running a scam where they use children as props to embarrass and bring down the Mormon church. In an embarrassing and transparent stunt, a 12-year-old girl who claims to be gay stood up in front of her church congregation and lectured them about accepting her and loving all people like Jesus did. Understandably, the plug was pulled and she was asked to sit down.

Clinton Ally Headed for Jail
Media Matters founder David Brock has pocketed over $1million in unreported lease income. Trump administration shakeup at IRS could mean jail-time for the top Clinton aide.
It might soon be David Brock’s “time in the barrel,” according to high-level sources at the IRS, who are signaling a massive firing will take place in order to clean house from the Obama-era.
Over the past eight years, the IRS has unfairly targeted conservative groups and individuals while ignoring several glaring omissions on Media Matters tax filings. Media Matters is a “non-profit” group funded by liberal billionaires and special interests.
David Brock, a former conservative who turned his back on the GOP for a hefty payday from the Clinton Crime Cartel, has pocketed $1,052,000.00 from sub-leasing the Media Matters office space since 2010.

Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker says he’s running for Maryland governor
Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker is running for governor, bringing the most political experience so far to a crowded, wide-open field seeking the Democratic nomination in 2018.
The veteran politician pointed to his record in Prince George's as a turnaround story in which public school graduation rates and median incomes increased and crime decreased. He promised to bring similar change statewide.
"It's time to build a Maryland that leaves no one behind," he said in a campaign video he planned to release Wednesday. "I'm running because we can't be silent or just complain as the cynical try to divide us and take us backwards."
Baker, 58, launches the bid as his wife, Christa Beverly, continues to ail from early-onsetAlzheimer's and dementia. Beverly, and Baker's care for her over the past seven years, figure prominently into the video launching his campaign.

The Washington Times reported Friday that the committee has launched a formal investigation into Lynch’s attempts to shape the FBI’s probe into Hillary Clinton, and whether she mishandled classified information on her private email server.
According to the Times, the investigation has bipartisan support.

Rand Paul: Insurance should be available for $1 a day
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) slammed Senate Republicans' healthcare overhaul bill on Friday, saying that it's grounded in "propping up" insurance companies.
He also called for the creation of a healthcare law that would reduce insurance costs to as little as $1 a day for at least some consumers.
"What I'd like to do is legalize inexpensive insurance, and you should be able to get insurance for $1 a day. I mean, you really should," Paul said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "The insurance companies make all the money; all of this is predicated upon still propping up the insurance companies."

Paul Ryan is afraid to lead
The thing people like about House Speaker Paul D. Ryan is that he is a serious guy who is capable of thinking big and has an ambitious agenda to salvage our ungovernable federal bureaucracy.
He was never the smoothest communicator or slickest politician. Serious, smart and honest has always been his currency.
So now the question is, Mr. Speaker, where is your big, bold agenda?
This country is at a political crossroads that only comes around once or twice in a century. Congressional Republicans are totally blowing it.
