(ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.) — An art gallery owner in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Starbucks have resolved their differences after he was barred from all the coffee chain’s locations for causing a “disruption” when he’d ask customers at one Tampa store to stop illegally parking in a spot reserved for people with disabilities.
Rob Rowen said he’d stop by this particular Starbucks in Tampa almost daily. His go-to order was a decaf non-fat mocha with whipped cream.
“All the baristas know me,” Rowen, 62, told ABC News.
Rowen said the Starbucks has about 20 spots with just one accessible parking spot. And when he’d see customers illegally park in the spot reserved for people with disabilities, he’d confront them, and nicely ask them to move, he said.

Governor Larry Hogan Announces Elimination of Fees for Highway Construction Plans
Delivering on Promise to Make Maryland Government Business-Friendly and Efficient
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today announced that the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) has eliminated fees for state highway construction engineering plans and is providing contractors access to the free files on e-Maryland Marketplace – once again delivering on his pledge to make Maryland government business-friendly and efficient. Beginning July 1, 2015, SHA is providing contractors with free electronic plans online with project advertisements, which saves contractors time and money by eliminating trips to SHA’s Baltimore office to purchase and pick up paper copies of the plans.
“For too long, Maryland’s anti-business attitude made doing business with the state costly and cumbersome,” said Governor Hogan. “By eliminating this bothersome fee and allowing contractors to download engineering plans from their computers instead of driving to Baltimore, we are helping businesses save time and money.”
SHA previously printed the engineering plans and sold copies to potential bidders. Prices for engineering plans ranged between $15 and $175, allowing the agency to recoup printing costs. The new electronic PDF files posted on e-Maryland Marketplace allow contractors to review the plans as soon as the projects are advertised and to share the files with potential subcontractors and disadvantaged business enterprise partners for consideration in forming a team to bid. The e-plans improve efficiency for hundreds of businesses, increase competitiveness for the overall industry, and eliminate tens of thousands of pounds of paper usage.
“Streamlining the advertising process couldn’t be timelier with the governor’s new funding plan that infuses money into transportation projects across the state,” said Jim Russ, president of the Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association. “Time spent driving can now be productive, so e-plans save time, gas, and money.”

Book: Bill cheating on Hillary again with busty blonde
Former President Bill Clinton is cheating on Democratic Party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and “has a blonde, busty mistress” code named “Energizer” by Secret Service agents, according to author Ronald Kessler, a former investigative journalist at the Washington Post.
Kessler published his claims in his new book, “The First Family Detail: Secret Service Agents Reveal the Hidden Lives of the Presidents.”
“He has a blond, busty mistress, and she’s been code named Energizer by agents,” the author told Chris Stigall on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT. “This is unofficially, but that is what they call her. … She comes in to the Chappaqua [NY] home whenever Hillary leaves. The details coordinate to make sure they don’t cross paths. She, unlike Hillary, is very nice to the agents. She’ll bring cookies.”

Troopers Investigate Shooting at Delaware Park
Wilmington, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington man and charged him in connection with a shooting that occurred this morning on the grounds of the Delaware Park Racetrack and Casino.
The investigation began at approximately 8:55 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, July 29, 2015, as Ruben Rojas, 30, of Wilmington, responded to the stable area of the Delaware Park Racetrack and Casino, located at 777 Delaware Park Boulevard, Wilmington. It was then that Rojas, who is employed as a jockey at the track, confronted a 38 year old Miramar, Florida man, who is employed as a trainer at the track. Rojas and the victim then became involved in a verbal altercation at which time, Rojas, while still seated in his vehicle, produced a handgun and fired one round from it, striking the victim in the stomach. Rojas then fled from the scene, discarding the gun into a creek which runs through the Delaware Park property. The victim was removed from the scene and transported by ambulance to the Christiana Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Responding troopers were provided with a description of Rojas’ vehicle and began searching the area for it. A short time later, the vehicle, described as a tan Nissan Xterra, was located by Delaware State Police helicopter (Trooper 4) in the parking lot of the Prides Court Apartments located on Sussex Road, Newark. As responding officers arrived at the scene, Rojas exited a building in the complex and immediately surrendered to an officer from the New Castle County Police Department without incident. He was subsequently turned over to troopers.
A search of the creek was then conducted at which time a 9mm Luger handgun was located. It was later learned that the gun had been reported as stolen to the Cleveland, OH police department.
Ruben Rojas was arrested and transported to Troop 2, Glasgow, where he was charged with Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution for lack of $123,000.00 cash bail.

Gang of Muslim Women Beat a Lady for Wearing Bikini in French Park, Here’s How She’s Fighting Back
Is it just me or does it seem like when Muslims aren’t able to force a person to bow to their will and religious beliefs they immediately resort to violence?
I mean, I thought Islam was the religion of peace?
Loony lefties should probably pass the memo on to this gang of Muslim women in France who decided to beat the snot out of a woman for wearing a bikini in a park, because I don’t think they understand the false narrative progressives are trying to establish.
Nothing screams peace and tolerance like a good old fashioned beat down.

GOP Rolls Out Employee Rights Act to Cripple Union Power
Republican lawmakers rolled out plans Monday for the first major reform of federal labor laws in six decades, including changes that could deal a potentially crippling blow to union political power if adopted.
Dubbed the Employee Rights Act, the legislation would affirm the individual rights of workers, giving them more options to walk away from unions if they do not feel the organizations are representing their interests.
"I believe workers should have the right to join a union. But I think they should have the right not to join a union as well," said Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, a co-author of the legislation, at a press conference at the Capitol.
The legislation would prohibit a union from using a worker's membership dues for any purpose other than collective bargaining without getting that worker's prior written consent. It makes use of threats or force against a worker a federal crime. The bill also includes several reforms to workplace election rules, such as requiring all election have secret ballots and that a union win a majority of all workers, not just a majority of those who voted.

Department of Justice indicts U.S. Congressman on corruption charges
WASHINGTON (WJLA) — The U.S. Department of Justice has indicted a sitting U.S. Congressman on charges of corruption.
Chaka Fattah, a Democratic congressman from Philadelphia, faces charges related to corruption and racketeering – known as a RICO case. Fattah has served in the House for 21 years.
Prosecutors say one of Fattah's schemes involved siphoning federal money to finance his losing bid for Philadelphia mayor in 2007.
The problems surrounding Fattah run deep. His son was charged last year for corruption and two of his close advisors have already pleaded guilty to corruption. One of those advisors is Thomas Lindenfeld. He’s a longtime political advisor from D.C. who also worked on Mayor Muriel Bowser’s campaign.

Weak Response to Breaches Will Lead to More Cyber Attacks
Obama administration's diplomatic, legal response is encouraging more cyber attacks
The United States will continue to suffer increasingly damaging cyber attacks against both government and private sector networks as long as there is no significant response, according to a recent U.S. intelligence community assessment.
Disclosure of the intelligence assessment, an analytical consensus of 16 U.S. spy agencies, comes as the Obama administration is debating how to respond to a major cyber attack against the Office of Personnel Management. Sensitive records on 22.1 million federal workers, including millions cleared for access to secrets, were stolen by hackers linked to China’s government.
U.S. officials familiar with the classified cyber assessment discussed its central conclusion but did not provide details.
Spokesmen for the White House and office of the director of national intelligence declined to comment.

Annual Chincoteague Pony Swim Takes Place
Over the weekend the “Saltwater Cowboys” rounded up the approximately 150 adult wild ponies that live on Assateague Island, and the 60-70 foals that were born in the spring. On Wednesday the ponies swam from Assateague to Chincoteague Island.
The swim takes place at “slack tide.” After the swim the ponies rest for around 45 minutes before the Saltwater Cowboys guide them down Main Street, to the carnival grounds.
The pony swim is held each year to move the ponies from Assateague Island to Chincoteague Island so that the foals can be auctioned the following day.

IAEA Would Depend on Iran to Collect its Own Samples for Nuclear Residue Testing
'Even the NFL wouldn't go along with this'
International inspectors trying to determine whether Iran is conducting secret nuclear activities at its military sites will have to rely on material evidence provided by the Iranian government, according to a senator who attended a closed-door briefing with administration officials last week.
Sen. James Risch (R., Idaho) said at a Senate Foreign Relations hearing Thursday that Iran would be responsible for collecting its own samples from its military complex Parchin to turn over to international inspectors for nuclear residue testing.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and U.S. officials would not be allowed to independently collect the samples under the current agreement, Risch said.
Iran has been accused of carrying out nuclear detonations testing at Parchin, and the compound is at the center of an IAEA investigation into “possible military dimensions” of Iran’s nuclear program.
The hearing, which followed a classified briefing with administration officials earlier last week, was attended by Secretary of State John Kerry and Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz.
“Let me tell you the worst thing about Parchin,” Risch said at the hearing. “What you guys agreed to was, we can’t even take samples there. IAEA can’t take samples there. They’re going to be able to test by themselves. Even the NFL wouldn’t go along with this.”
When pressed by Sen. Robert Menendez (D., N.J.) about whether this was accurate, Kerry said it was part of “a classified component” of the agreement that he could not publicly discuss.

Prosecutors Deny Officers Indicted In Freddie Gray Case Gave Statements Under Duress
Prosecutors are responding to claims by the defense in the Freddie Gray case that the officers charged in Gray's death gave statements because they were afraid they would lose their jobs.
City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby's office argues that those statements were given voluntarily and that there was no threat of job loss.
Lawyers for five of the six officers charged in gray's death filed a motion arguing that their statements given to investigators should be thrown out, because they were illegally obtained.

Quote
"[Tyrannical] power is absolute, minute, regular, provident and mild. It would be like the authority of a parent if, like that authority, its object was to prepare men for manhood; but it seeks, on the contrary, to keep them in perpetual childhood: it is well content that the people should rejoice, provided they think of nothing but rejoicing. For their happiness such a government willingly labors, but it chooses to be the sole agent and the only arbiter of that happiness; it provides for their security, foresees and supplies their necessities, facilitates their pleasures, manages their principal concerns, directs their industry, regulates the descent of property, and subdivides their inheritances: what remains, but to spare them all the care of thinking and all the trouble of living?"

Governors McAuliffe, Hogan get crabby over Maryland’s signature treat
WASHINGTON — It’s a Chesapeake Bay smackdown!
The governors of Maryland and Virginia are slinging a little trash talk — over blue crabs.
“You know, Maryland talks about their crabs,” Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe said with a chuckle on a WRVA radio show recently.
“If anyone from Maryland is listening, I want to make this perfectly clear: All the crabs are born here in Virginia and they end up, because of the current, being taken there (to Maryland). So really, they should be Virginia crabs,” McAuliffe said.

CDC Should Admit Coverup of Vaccine-Autism Link: Top Doctor
Last summer, Dr. William Thompson, a senior epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control, admitted that he had helped the CDC hide data from a study which linked the MMR vaccine to autism. Holistic doctor David Brownstein tells Newsmax Health the CDC is still not owning up to Dr. Thompson's charges that they found data that links the vaccine to a spike in autism. "The CDC is still not coming clean," Dr. Brownstein says. "They want to keep it quiet, but it's time the cover-up ended."
Some experts believe that the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine (MMR) caused an increase in autism, but the idea has been roundly discredited by government officials.
Officially, the 2004 CDC study Dr. Thompson helped conduct found no link between the MMR vaccine and autism. In addition, the study, which was published in the journal Pediatrics, stated that no particular racial group was more at risk than others.
But Dr. Thompson said the actual data painted quite a different picture. He confessed that he and other CDC scientists intentionally omitted African-American children from the study, and changed data in order to show no link between vaccines and autism.
In fact, the original data found that giving a child the vaccine before the age of 36 months increased the risk of autism by 69 percent, and giving it to an African-American child increased the risk of autism by 240 percent!

Hogan’s illness pushes understudy into alien territory — the spotlight
As Maryland’s little-known lieutenant governor, Boyd K. Rutherford is not accustomed to dramatic entrances.
Yet there he was at an Eastern Shore clambake on a July afternoon, tilting his head back in laughter as lobbyist Bruce C. Bereano bellowed, “This is a great lieutenant governor!” and “This is a true leader!”
The lieutenant governor waded into an afternoon-long procession of handshakes, photos and greetings from strangers, which invariably included, in hushed tones, “How’s the governor? . . . Let Larry know he’s in our prayers.”
A month after Gov. Larry Hogan disclosed that he had been diagnosed with advanced non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Rutherford, 58, has found himself thrust into an unfamiliar and somewhat awkward role.

2. Sometimes I roll my eyes out loud.
3. I don't need anger management. I need people to stop pissing me off.

6. When I was a child I thought nap time was punishment. Now it's like a mini vacation.
7. The day the world runs out of wine is just too terrible to think about.

Anatomy of Hillary’s latest email lie
Exclusive: Dick Morris cites 2 motivations for Clinton's fib in response to IG referral
Hillary Clinton’s latest lie is her claim that the only reason for the flap over whether she emailed classified documents was her “desire to have transparency and make everything public.” Except for her insistence on disclosure, “we would not be having this conversation.”
Seriously? It’s hard to even use the words Hillary and transparency in the same sentence – because she’s anything but transparent; she’s secretive and paranoid. And she thinks she can outsmart us. That’s what started this problem in the first place.
Why did she lie? As always, Hillary’s lie has two motivations:
a. to kindle a debate that distracts from the basic question of whether or not she sent classified information on her private server; and
b. to try to show how she is the victim of her own good intentions and integrity.
Start with the first point. Hillary Clinton sent at least four emails that contained classified material over her private server in violation of federal law. This is the charge made by the two inspectors general for the State Department in their referral to the Justice Department and the FBI. But Hillary defiantly claims that she never sent any email containing classified information.

US Economic & Consumer Confidence Plunges To 10-Month Lows As "Hope" Crashes
The Conference Board just reported that US Consumer Confidence, having bounced in June, has collapsed in July (and saw the bounce revised drastically lower). At 90.9, this is the lowest since September 2014 and is below the lowest economist estimate. More worrying is the crash in "hope" - as consumer expectations plunge from 92.8 to 79.9 (lowest since Feb 2014). This should not be a surprise since Gallup has been indicating fading confidence in its weekly survey for a while. 57% of Americans believe the US economy is "getting worse," which has leftGallup's Economic Confidence Index tumbling to its lowest in 10 months.

Obama: I’m the First ‘Kenyan-American’ President of the United States
President Obama during remarks in his father’s home country of Kenya over the weekend dubbed himself “the first Kenyan-American” President of the United States.
According to CNN, Obama delivered a speech at a gymnasium in Nairobi, Kenya, to 5,000 attendees during which he recalled his family’s hardships and emphasized that individuals across the global are connected in “the human tribe.”
“I’m the first Kenyan-American to be president of the United States,” Obama told his audience. “That goes without saying.”
Obama recalled his family’s hardships in Kenya, mentioning his grandfather, who worked as a cook with the British military.
“What these stories also tell us is about the arc of progress,” Obama said. “We have to know our history so that we learn from it.”

US Middle Class Stays Dead: Homeownership Drops To 48 Year Low; Median Asking Rent Soars To All Time High
Three months ago, just as the last Census Homeownership and residential vacancy report hit,Gallup released its latest survey which confirmed just how dead the American Dream has become for tens if not hundreds of millions of Americans.
According to the poll, the number of Americans who did not currently own a home and say they do not think they will buy a home in "the foreseeable future," had risen by one third to 41%, vs. "only" 31% two years ago. Non-homeowners' expectations of buying a house in the next year or five years were unchanged, suggesting little change in the short-term housing market.
As Gallup wryly puts it, "what may have been a longer-term goal for many may now not be a goal at all, and this could have an effect on the longer-term housing market."

Most Americans Want Congress to Reject Iran deal: Poll
Most Americans, including 55 percent of independents, said Congress should reject the recently brokered deal on Iran’s nuclear program, a new poll said Tuesday morning.
Overall, 52 percent said Congress should reject the deal and 44 percent said it should be approved, according to results from the CNN/ORC poll.
Sixty-six percent of Republicans said the deal should be rejected, while 61 percent of Democrats said it should be approved. A CNN/ORC poll conducted in late June found that two-thirds of adults thought it was unlikely the negotiations would produce an agreement that would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Owings Mills Boy Youngest Double Hand Transplant Recipient
An 8-year-old Baltimore boy who lost his limbs to a serious infection has become the youngest patient to receive a double-hand transplant, surgeons said Tuesday.
Zion Harvey received the hands earlier this month at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, though doctors did not publicly disclose the 11-hour operation until now.
A 40-person medical team used steel plates and screws to attach the old and new bones. Surgeons then delicately reconnected arteries, veins, muscles, tendons and nerves.
Zion, a bright and precocious child, contracted an infection years ago that resulted in the amputation of his hands and feet. It also necessitated a kidney transplant, an organ he received from his mother.

BBC's Trust Me, I'm A Doctor says it's healthier to cook with LARD than sunflower oil
When it comes to choosing an oil or fat for cooking, we have never been so spoiled for choice. Take a trip to your local supermarket and the aisles are packed with everything you could desire, from the traditional - good old lard and butter - to the fashionably new - rapeseed, sesame and the latest fad, coconut oil.
The bewildering range of olive oils is enough to make the brain ache.
But which of them really is best to cook with? The benefits and harm each delivers has been debated for years, and most consumers are thoroughly confused. No wonder, when we are bombarded with conflicting information and advice that differs depending on the oil.
We are told, for example, that olive oil has brilliant health benefits - but only when you use it cold.
So when the team on Trust Me, I'm A Doctor (the BBC programme I present) turned its spotlight on the issue, I was delighted to investigate - and was shocked by our findings.
For the research we conducted, unveiled here for the first time, has revealed that what we thought we knew about cooking oils is just plain wrong. We began our research by finding out what real people are cooking with in their kitchens and how the advice is faring. Not surprisingly, modern oils, such as sunflower and olive, are far more popular than the traditional lard and butter.
'I know olive oil is really good for health, but the rest of them are not,' said one man, while another said: 'Sunflower oil - I don't know, man, it's got the word "sun" in, and the "flower". That's good!'

Another Sheriff Has Faith In His ‘In God We Trust’ Bumper Stickers
PANAMA CITY, FLA. — Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen has faith in his “In God We Trust” bumper stickers. And doesn’t care what the ACLU thinks.
He recently held up a five-page letter from the Freedom From Religion Foundation, which is joining the American Civil Liberties Union in demanding that the sheriff reverse his decision to place such stickers on all his patrol cars.
“If this is the only thing they can get me on, I’m proud of it. But of all the things that are happening in this world, they’re complaining about my bumper stickers,” said Sheriff McKeithen, who placed the stickers on the back of his cars roughly two weeks ago.
On Friday, roughly 20 protesters, many of whom are affiliated with a local Unitarian Universalist church, gathered in front of the sheriff’s office to complain that the “In God We Trust” stickers endorse Christianity and may lead to biased treatment.
But despite the rain, over 200 of the sheriff’s supporters gathered on short notice to surprise and drown out the anti-sticker contingent.
Sheriff McKeithen said the protesters’ complaints of Christianity bias are unfounded.
“I will drive to their house just as fast as I will to the preacher’s house, and that’s all I have to say,” he said. “We don’t screen people to see if they’re atheists or Christians or Muslims or Jews. We’ve never done it, and I don’t know any law enforcement agency that has done it.
Sheriff McKeithen’s bumper sticker announcement on Facebook garnered 376,000 views by Friday. He has been contacted by other law enforcement agencies in Florida and in Alabama, which in turn have placed the bumper stickers on their patrol cars.

Sen. Sasse: WH 'Declining to Tell the Truth About China' Spying
The White House is making a dangerous "strategic mistake" by not publicly blaming China for the massive hack of data on 22 million government workers – and for "amassing one of the largest spying databases in history," Sen. Ben Sasse charges.
In a commentary in USA Today, the Nebraska Republican argues by "declining to tell the truth about China, we abandon a core tenant of cyber deterrence theory: public attribution."
"The administration’s first — and flimsiest — justification for staying silent is that attributing the attacks to China could force us to reveal our own intelligence sources and methods," Sasse writes. "This is wrong. Telling the truth about China doesn’t disclose our own capabilities. We’re not taking China to court. We don’t have to publicly file the intelligence and analysis that informs our judgments."
Instead, he argues, the nation could do as it did with the North Korean hack of Sony Entertainment Pictures.
"We simply said we had our reasons for concluding Pyongyang was the culprit and that it wasn't ambiguous."

House Benghazi Panel Says State Dept to Hand Over Documents Tuesday
The U.S. House of Representatives committee investigating the 2012 attacks on an American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, said the State Department has pledged to hand over 5,000 new pages of documents related to the incident on Tuesday.
"The State Department has informed the Committee it will make a production of approximately 5,000 pages tomorrow - the second largest production the Committee has received and the largest since last summer," Republican Representative Trey Gowdy, the committee's chairman, said in a statement on Monday.
The documents are not expected to include emails involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who has been embroiled in a controversy over her use of a private email account while she was America's top diplomat.
The State Department has provided the committee with thousands of documents, but Gowdy has repeatedly said he is looking for additional records relating to some of Clinton's staff as well as the former secretary.
The South Carolina lawmaker says he wants all relevant documents before Clinton testifies to the committee. Her campaign has said she would testify in October, but the committee said the timing was not set.

Billion-dollar bloodlines: America's richest families 2015
Great fortunes don’t always last. New technology trumps the old, trends wane, management stumbles. Yet a few of the families who made FORBES second annual ranking of America’s Richest Families –we capped the list at 200 members this year — have withstood such challenges. Some, like the Huber family, have survived for six generations, dating back to the 1800s. Each of these clans is worth at least $1.2 billion. Collectively, they’re worth $1.3 trillion. Thirty-three newcomers join the ranks, including the Sackler family, whose company makes pain drug OxyContin; the Greenberg family behind Skechers shoes, and the Trincheros, owners of the fourth largest U.S. wine company.
The Walton family is the wealthiest family in the U.S. for the second year in a row. Six heirs of Wal-Mart founders Sam Walton and James “Bud” Walton together own about 54% of the global retailer. Forbes estimates their fortune at $149 billion — down from $152 billion last year due to a dip in Wal-Mart’s stock price. They are followed by the Koch family: two of the four Koch brothers, Charles and David, are politically active and run conglomerate Koch Industries, the second largest private company in the country. Coming in third: the Mars family, owners of the world’s largest candy company, maker of M&Ms and Milky Way, share an estimated $80 billion fortune. Frank Mars started selling candy from his kitchen in Tacoma, Washington in 1911.

Homeownership reaches lowest level in 50 years
BALTIMORE —The number of homeowners has reached its lowest level in 50 years, and experts said the recession is much to blame.
Homeownership is down to 63.4 percent, according to the U.S. Census.
"It may be down, but we're not that far out of a huge recession," said Georgiana Tyler, an associate broker at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. "I think that that plays a lot with people wanting to have more security."
Many strive for security, especially those just starting out on their own. Kirby Fowler, president of the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, said millennials are trending toward renting more than buying.

A 'Triple Threat' To Coastal United States
Sea-Level Rise, Heavy Rainfall And Storm Surge: The 'Triple Threat' That Might Devastate Coastal US Cities
Nearly 40 percent of America’s population, including those living in some of its biggest cities, is facing the threat of serious floods caused by a “triple threat” of sea-level rise, storm surge and heavy rainfall, according to a study published in the journal Nature Climate Change. The combination of these phenomena can potentially result in “compound flooding” that can devastate several low-lying, densely populated coastal areas in the country.
While several studies have, in the past, examined the correlation between sea-level rise and an increase in floodings, the latest study is the first to explore the connection between the primary and secondary effects of climate change.
“When storm surge and heavy precipitation co-occur, the potential for flooding in low-lying coastal areas is often much greater than from either in isolation,” the study warned. However, even now, “long-term sea level rise is the main driver for accelerated flooding.”

Franklin Graham: Stop 'Making a Mockery Out of Our Elections'
Influential Christian evangelical leader Franklin Graham scolded the packed 2016 presidential candidates' field for engaging in mean-spirited attacks that are contributing to the precipitous fall of the nation's political system "to a new low."
Writing Monday on his Facebook page in an open letter addressed to the current 21 Republican and Democratic contenders — and listed in alphabetical order — the president of the foundation named after famed father Billy Graham, and leader of the global charity Samaritan's Purse, commends "all of you for the desire to lead the United States of America. Our nation is in dire need of real leadership."
But such leadership, he writes, isn't demonstrated "by attacking each other."
"The election process should be about putting forth your ideas for a better America and for the future of all Americans," Graham notes.
"As you know, some intend to stir up conflict — and if they can get you to fight, it helps their ratings more than it helps you."
"Ripping into each other, mocking each other, telling lies about each other and to the American people isn’t a display of leadership," he writes. "You have put yourself forth as a candidate for the highest office in the land. Take the high road. All of us want to hear your ideas for the future. No one wants to hear the backbiting, petty squabbling, and negative attack ads that make a mockery out of our elections."

Meth Lab Found In A Government Building In Maryland After It Caused A Massive Explosion
Certain shows just stand out for people in a world filled with all kinds of television shows on what seems to be countless networks. As anyone who watches TV is aware, not all shows are on the same level in terms of storyline, budget, acting, or overall quality. It obviously depends upon what kind of show it is, but many regular stations like ABC and NBC, for example, struggle to put out shows that are as good as say on AMC, Showtime, or HBO. The differences are usually related to the above categories. You see a lot more shows coming out each year on the standard networks than you do on AMC, Showtime, or HBO. And you also see a lot of these shows get canceled before they really ever get going. On the other hand, shows on AMC, Showtime, and HBO are usually, to put it simply, much better. So they typically stick around for multiple seasons and audiences love them.
A lot of these shows in general, or at least episodes of them, take much of their inspiration from real-life events. Now it may be events that happened in the personal life of a writer, in the news, or it is something that happened to a friend of a friend or something like that. This sure was the case for the hit showBreaking Bad. It was inspired by the story of a real meth manufacturer and dealer named Walter White(just like the lead character in the show). There are also other events in the show's many seasons that were at least inspired by real-life events. It also led to the spin-off Better Call Saul. That show features that crooked lawyer who bends the law as needed in Breaking Bad.
Well, life is imitating art in a story coming out of Maryland and still developing. Apparently someone had a meth lab set up in one of the National Institute of Standards and Technology's buildings that clearly isn't used all that often. The meth lab was not discovered until a huge explosion occurred and police don't have their newest Walter White impersonator behind bars just yet. It just goes to show you that not every meth cook is on top of their game. A federal security officer on the premises at the time of the blast (thankfully it was a weekend and not a lot of people were around) was hurt and left with burns to his hands and arms. He apparently resigned from his job the next day. But who can really blame him?! The government probably has some good attorneys and they are going to need them. This security guard likely landed in the hospital. And he is lucky he isn't dead.

Planned Parenthood Hacked
Planned Parenthood confirmed that its online databases have been hacked, potentially exposing employees' personal information.
The women's health and abortion provider said Monday it has reported the crime to the Department of Justice and the FBI.
A group of hackers who oppose the group for its abortion services is taking credit for the hack, first sharing it with the Daily Dot. One of the hackers, identified only as "E," said it will be "interesting to see what surfaces when [Planned Parenthood] is stripped naked and exposed to the public."
"Trying to mold an atrocious monstrosity into socially acceptable behaviors is repulsive," the hacker told the Daily Dot. "Obviously what [Planned Parenthood] does is a very ominous practice."

Remains of 4 early colonial leaders discovered at Jamestown
Archaeologists have uncovered human remains of four of the earliest leaders of the English colony that became America under the floor of a Jamestown church.
The four leaders have been buried for more than 400 years near the altar of what was America's first Protestant church in Jamestown, Virginia.
Researchers were stunned to find one of the, identified as Capt. Gabriel Archer, a vociferous critic and rival of Captain John Smith, was buried with Catholic artefacts, leading to claims he was part of a secret Catholic cell or a Spanish spy.

House Committee: IRS Used Record-less Instant Message System
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is reporting that the IRS had an instant messaging system that was "wholly separate" from its email system that did not archive communications.
In a letter written to President Barack Obama on Monday, House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, along with 20 committee members, made a case for the president as to why they think IRS Commissioner John Koskinen should be removed from his post.
As part of that letter, the committee reveals several findings from its investigation into the scandal, in which the IRS allegedly put conservative groups through additional scrutiny when they applied for non-profit status leading up to the 2012 presidential election, which resulted in significant delays for their approval.
In the course of its investigation, the House committee discovered that apart from regular communications through email, "the IRS maintained a wholly separate instant-messaging communication system it did not regularly archive."
One IRS employee explained in an email to former IRS official Lois Lerner, who is at the center of the targeting scandal, that the Office Communication Server (OCS) was "not set to automatically save as the standard; however, that functionality exists in the software."

Report: Health Care Spending to Accelerate Thanks to Obamacare
The nation's respite from accelerating health care costs appears to be over.
Spending on health care will outpace the nation's overall economic growth over the next decade, the government forecast on Tuesday, underscoring a coming challenge for the next president, not to mention taxpayers, businesses and individual Americans.
A combination of expanded insurance coverage under President Barack Obama's law, an aging population, and rising demand, will be squeezing society's ability to pay.
By 2019, midway through the next president's term, health care spending will be increasing at roughly 6 percent a year, compared to an average annual rise of 4 percent from 2008 through 2013.
The higher rate of increase is still "relatively modest," says the report from the Office of the Actuary in the Health and Human Services Department. The forecast, through 2024, does not foresee a return to pre-recession days of torrid health care inflation, as the government and private employers try to revamp the way they pay hospitals and doctors to emphasize quality over quantity.
Even so, the report is "not great news," said economist Douglas Holtz-Eakin, president of the American Action Forum, a center-right think tank.
"The main point is that the bill will continue to grow faster than the economy, which is what pays the bill," he added. "The next president faces the task of reining in the growth of federal entitlement spending."

IRS Failed to Search Five of Six Locations for Lois Lerner Emails
The IRS failed to search five of six possible sources of electronic media for Lois Lerner’s emails, according to a documentation released by the House Oversight Committee on Monday.
Over the course of investigations into the Lois Lerner targeting scandal, Commissioner John Koskinen repeatedly assured Congress that he would provide all of Lois Lerner’s emails. But based on testimony from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), this did not occur. The agency’s ineptness -- or corruption -- resulted in 24,000 Lerner emails being lost when they were “accidently” destroyed.
According to TIGTA official Timothy Camus, the IRS had six possible sources to search for Lois Lerner’s emails:

Navy turns seawater into fuel and nobody cares
Last month the Navy Research Lab powered a radio-controlled P-51 model using a “gas to liquid” process that takes seawater and turns it into fuel.
According to a jargon-rich NRL press release, the process goes something like this: An innovative and proprietary NRL electrolytic cation exchange module (E-CEM), both dissolved and bound CO2 are removed from seawater at 92 percent efficiency by re-equilibrating carbonate and bicarbonate to CO2 and simultaneously producing H2. The gases are then converted to liquid hydrocarbons by a metal catalyst in a reactor system.
In other words, seawater goes in the tank and the motor cranks up and the airplane flies.
“In close collaboration with the Office of Naval Research P38 Naval Reserve program, NRL has developed a game changing technology for extracting, simultaneously, CO2 and H2 from seawater,” said Dr. Heather Willauer, NRL research chemist. “This is the first time technology of this nature has been demonstrated with the potential for transition, from the laboratory, to full-scale commercial implementation.”

Today In Weird Clothing Trends: Wearing Jeans Infused With Jade To Beat The Heat
Because no one likes having heavy fabric clinging to sweaty, suffocating legs when it’s hot outside, many people turn to a clothing innovation known as “shorts” to give those limbs some breathing room when the weather is hot. But over in China, Lee jeans has decided to push another option — denim infused with crushed jade stones, a method that theoretically keeps wearers cooler.
The Jade Fusion line launched in Hong Kong in May and is now spreading to the rest of China, reportsBloomberg, where customers may have a hard time getting their hands on a pair, as they’ve sold out in the first seven weeks.
Here’s how it works: The jade fabric pulls sweat away from the body, where it quickly dries, creating a cooling sensation, Stephen Dull, vice president of strategy and innovation for VF Corp, the parent company of Lee, explained to Bloomberg. Or as the brand calls it, “denim refreshment.”
“It’s not magic,” Dull said. “But it takes away of a lot of the smelly, icky, sweaty, sticky feeling you get when you wear denim in the heat.”

Someone Is Planning A Drive-Thru Grocery Store In Silicon Valley: Maybe Amazon
A real estate developer has filed building plans for an 11,000-square foot grocery pickup facility in Sunnyvale, CA, but won’t say who their client is. Sunnyvale is the Silicon Valley town where Yahoo is based, but word in the local real estate community is that their new grocer isn’t a local startup: it’s Amazon.
Amazon has, after all, been experimenting with both parts of this idea: they’ve been delivering groceries to customers’ doorsteps, but struggling with the “fresh” part of the Amazon Fresh brand. The company is also experimenting with using the U.S. Postal Service for early morning grocery deliveries.

The Memory Hole
Many people who may vote in the democratic primary election, if there is one and the general election in 2016 have no real knowledge of Mrs. Clinton or her accomplishments. As a public service, I thought I would provide some input regarding her triumphs for consideration.
When Bill Clinton was president, he allowed Hillary to assume authority over a health care reform. Even after threats and intimidation, she couldn’t even get a vote in a democratic controlled congress. This fiasco cost the American taxpayers about $13 million in cost for studies, promotion, and other efforts.
Then President Clinton gave Hillary authority over selecting a female attorney general. Her first two selections were Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood – both were forced to withdraw their names from consideration. Next she chose Janet Reno – husband Bill described her selection as “my worst mistake.” Some may not remember that Reno made the decision to gas David Koresh and the Branch Davidian religious sect in Waco, Texas resulting in dozens of deaths of women and children.
Husband Bill allowed Hillary to make recommendations for the head of the Civil Rights Commission. Lani Guanier was her selection. When a little probing led to the discovered of Ms. Guanier’s radical views, her name had to be withdrawn from consideration.
Apparently a slow learner, husband Bill allowed Hillary to make some more recommendations. She chose former law partners Web Hubbel for the Justice Department, Vince Foster for the White House staff, and William Kennedy for the Treasury Department. Her selections went well: Hubbel went to prison, Foster (presumably) committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign.

Three Threats to Freedom
This Monday, June 15, is the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta (Great Charter).
At Runnymede, about 20 miles outside London, the barons forced King John of England to sign an agreement that represented a profound break in English history.
King John believed that he governed by divine right, that God had given him power to make law. He was literally above the law and able to define it. According to this theory, there were no limits on his authority.
Because John had fought a series of losing wars, he had lost prestige and was in desperate need of money.
The barons were tired of what they saw as a weak and incompetent King wasting their money on badly executed foreign campaigns. They insisted that in return for the money he needed, he would concede three key principles.
First, they insisted on the right to trial by jury which implied that juries could defy the King and find people innocent even if he wanted them punished.

Greek Bailout Explained
It is a slow day in a little Greek Village. The rain is beating down and the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit. On this particular day a rich German tourist is driving through the village, stops at the local hotel and lays a €100 note on the desk, telling the hotel owner he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night.
The owner gives him some keys and, as soon as the
visitor has walked upstairs, the hotelier grabs the €100 note and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the €100 note and runs down the street to repay his debt to the pig farmer.
The pig farmer takes the €100 note and heads off to pay his bill at the
supplier of feed and fuel. The guy at the Farmers' Co-op takes the €100 note and runs to pay his drinks bill at the tavern.
The publican slips the money along to the local prostitute
drinking at the bar, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer him "services" on credit.
The hooker then rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill to
the hotel owner with the €100 note. The hotel proprietor then places the €100 note back on the counter so the rich traveler will not suspect anything.
At that moment the traveler comes down the stairs, picks up the €100 note, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money and leaves town.
No one produced anything.
No one earned anything.
However, the whole village is now out of debt and looking to the future with a lot more optimism.
And that is how the bailout package works!

Pa. water reported with deadly radiation at 60 times safe levels. Fracking waste cited. By Ray Wallace
High levels of radiation -- up to 60 times higher than the maximum allowed in drinking water -- have been reported in a stream feeding into the drinking water of hundreds of thousands of people in western Pennsylvania including Pittsburgh.

"It's highly suggestive that it may be due to drilling operations, or at least the waste water."
“Radium does not go away quickly. The half-life for radium 226 is 1,600 years, meaning even then it will still be half as potent at it is today ... and can cause bone, liver and breast cancer."

"In 2014, the Izaak Walton League, a respected national conservation group, had been monitoring Ten Mile Creek in Greene County, PA. They found something in the creek that should not be there - radioactive levels of radium-226 and radium-228. 19 times higher than what federal drinking water standards allow, and 65 times higher upstream!
"The the Izaak Walton League had to badger PA DEP to affirm its findings. The DEP finally did confirm what they found. The DEP would not release the information. The Izaack Walton League had to force the DEP to do so. Now, that the cat's out of the bag, the DEP has announced yet another investigation.
"Long-term exposure to radium increases the risk of developing several diseases. Inhaled or ingested, radium increases the risk of developing such diseases as lymphoma, bone cancer, and diseases that affect the formation of blood, such as leukemia and aplastic anemia. These effects usually take years to develop. External exposure to radium's gamma radiation increases the risk of cancer to varying degrees in all tissues and organs.
"In the meantime, the fracking goes on and the radioactive creek flows to our drinking water sources. Radioactive waste is not associated with coal mining - it is associated with fracking. This is an unacceptable risk to everyone's health, welfare and safety!
"The mission of the PA DEP is to: '...protect Pennsylvania's air, land and water from pollution and to provide for the health and safety of its citizens through a cleaner environment. We will work as partners with individuals, organizations, governments and businesses to prevent pollution and restore our natural resources.' ABIDE BY THE MISSION!

White Man in Indiana Shot by African Americans Over Confederate Flag on His Car
A white man from Arkansas who was driving through a black neighborhood in South Bend, Indiana was shot by one of a group of black men standing near a quick-mart styled store, police report. The shooting occurred because the white man had a Confederate flag on his vehicle.
A friend of the white man insists that he has never known the victim to be a racist. And the flag has a modern military link to it, not a race-based one.
