Breaking News: The White House announced a new travel ban targeting 7 countries, including Iran and North Korea. This ban is considered indefinite.

President Trump on Sunday issued a new order banning almost all travel to the United States from seven countries, including most of the nations covered by his original travel ban, citing threats to national security posed by letting their citizens into the country.
Starting next month, most citizens of Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Chad and North Korea will be indefinitely banned from entering the United States, President Trump said in a proclamation released Sunday night. Citizens of Iraq and some groups of people in Venezuela who seek to visit the United States will face restrictions or heightened scrutiny.

Former Democratic Congresswoman Urges All NFL Players To Kneel During National Anthem

Having left public office in January, former U.S. Congresswoman from Maryland, Donna Edwards, has decided to get involved in the current meme of the moment battle over respect and freedom of 'speech' between President Trump and The NFL...
On Sunday, I hope every @NFL player takes a knee in solidarity w @Kaepernick7 against the white supremacist who squats in our White House.
We have to admit we are a little confused.

We thought that if you disrespected anything American, you were automatically a 'Russian puppet', but now it's 'cool' to bash America's flag, its anthem, and The White House?

Publishers Notes: Is Mayor Day telling us the truth about Salisbury's financial commitment?

A Viewer Writes: Overdoses

11 overdoses and 2 fatalities in a week in Crisfield. One guy literally rolls out of a car dead in front of an entire crowd of people. Another overdose death since then in Somerset County. And still nothing is being done to address this problem. The health officer didn't even know about the overdoses or deaths. Where is all the money going that the Governor is throwing at the problem? Wicomico has a really good program in place. Worcester is on it and has a community group growing to help. Somerset continues to drag its feet and let people die, and won't tell anyone what is wasting its money on. Clearly, the health officer is clueless and doesn't care. How many more people have to die on his watch?

Hobby Lobby’s ‘offensive’ decoration has gone bonkers viral...

Daniell Rider, a Hobby Lobby consumer, found a decoration at one of their stores so offensive, she shared the image on Facebook requesting that they remove the decor from their shelves.

What was it?

Rider on Thursday shared a photo of a shelf with glass bottles containing what appear to be replicas of raw cotton plants.

She captioned the photo, “This decor is WRONG on SO many levels. There is nothing decorative about raw cotton… A commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves.”

“A little sensitivity goes a long way,” she added. “PLEASE REMOVE THIS ‘decor.'”

Salisbury Mayor Jake Day Formally Divorces Wicomico County

In a formal meeting this week, Mayor Jake Day has in fact cut ties with Wicomico County's Planning and Zoning department.

So why is this a big deal, well, it's HUGE! As I stated last week, the County provides multiple services to the City from this department, including the Fire Marshal. The department cost County taxpayers $1,700.000.00 a year. Two years ago the City paid the County $150,000.00 a year but last year, out of nowhere they reduce their commitment down to $100,000.00 a year without notice.

No smart business person out there would ever consider making such a move because the cost to the City taxpayers will be astronomical. Heck, just a Fire Marshal alone will cost a small fortune but remember, the City was only paying the County $100k for EVERYTHING! The new Fire Marshal will require an exclusive vehicle and get this, it will even include a GUN.

It's important ALL of you know, County Executive Culver kept everything available for Day to change his mind and stay with the County Planning and Zoning Department. Jake is determined to ACT as if he is more important and more powerful then the County Executive. He has shown NO RESPECT for Culver and the position he holds.

Mayor Day is completely restructuring City Government and what is so interesting to me is just how arrogant he's been about doing it. It's almost as if he's doing just like Barrie Tilghman and Jim Ireton, they didn't give a crap about what you think because no matter what happens, no matter who runs against them, they're going to win every election even if everyone hates how they conduct themselves. This is going to cost taxpayers BIG TIME!

I have another breaking article coming some time later today.

Protests: Is it All just Pop Culture?

By Thornton Crowe

Over the weekend throughout the country, many protests about one temper tantrum or another were in play but the one that most intrigues is the Richmond, Virginia tussle over the Robert E. Lee monument on Monument Avenue. Once again, sides divided argue over monuments that no one seemed to care about until Donald Trump won the White House.

These same protesters, if local, have walked or driven by this monument for their entire lives, just like we've walked passed the markers downtown, without so much as a second glance. Therefore, why is it now such a critical mass subject?

It's not like the history associated with these markers and monuments will change if they were to miraculous disappear overnight. In fact, by going on about their relevance/irrelevance, people seem to be making much to do about basically nothing. The only thing this history raiding has done has demonstrated how much Americans don't know about their own history.

Now days, all these protests seem to be the latest fad and for some, a revenue stream, lacking any real integrity or conviction. This very long temper tantrum by the Left has all come about because they didn't get their way - nothing more. At some point, one has to wonder: Are the original crusaders from the real Civil Rights Movement miffed with the younger generations minimizing their history and in some cases, dialing back a lot of what their hard work and sacrifice accomplished?

On a local level, many Salisburians don't even know who General John Henry Winder was, much less his place in our history; so why are some vying to remove his marker? Is it just because it has the word confederacy on the plaque, political folly or are they just protesting because it's become the thing to do to garner attention? Did any of you even know the Winder marker existed until someone started making a big stink about it? Chances are, probably not.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the protesters were tested on the history they're complaining to see if they even understand what they're protesting in the first place? Would it be another Wally moment?

CNN Debuts Documentary Teaching High Schoolers About Anal Sex, Transitioning

CNN ran a story Monday about a new video documentary created by the network that contains scenes of teaching high schoolers about anal sex, performing oral sex, and transitioning to a new gender.

The documentary, titled, “This Is Sex with Lisa Ling,” features a segment titled, “Sex 101.”

In the video, CNN’s Lisa Ling sits in a classroom with high schoolers, listening to a lesson where a teacher quizzes students on the proper term for a woman receiving oral sex, among other graphic questions.

Other topics taught in this classroom include how to use condoms for anal sex between same-sex couples, after which the CNN host characterizes teaching this as “inclusive.”

No One Injured In Trooper- Involved Shooting During Foot Pursuit Of Car Theft Suspects In Wicomico Co.

(SALISBURY, MD) – After almost striking a trooper on patrol and a subsequent foot pursuit during which a trooper fired at, but did not hit, a suspect he thought was reaching for a gun, two juvenile car theft suspects are under arrest this morning in Wicomico County.

The male suspects are 16 and 17 years old and are both from Salisbury, Md. They are currently being charged as juveniles and therefore are not being identified. Neither was injured during the incident.

The preliminary investigation by the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit indicates that just after 12:00 a.m. today, a Maryland state trooper from the Salisbury Barrack was patrolling northbound on Rt. 12 when a southbound 2009 Chevrolet Equinox crossed the centerline and veered toward him, almost striking his patrol car. The trooper turned around, activated his emergency equipment and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and the trooper reported to the barrack that he was in pursuit. A check of the vehicle’s tag number by the barrack indicated the tag was stolen. Two other troopers heard the pursuing trooper report he was heading in the direction of Washington Street and they attempted to intercept the vehicle there.

When they arrived in the area, the two troopers saw two individuals, later identified as the suspects, fleeing on foot. They gave commands to stop which were ignored and a foot pursuit ensued through several backyards on Washington Street.

According to the preliminary investigation, one of the troopers pursuing one of the suspects saw him reach to the area of his waistband as he was running. Believing the suspect may have been reaching for a gun, the trooper fired one shot from his department-issued pistol. The suspect was not hit and surrendered.

The second suspect was apprehended by Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office deputies a short distance away. He was taken into custody without further incident.

While the suspects were being processed, relatives of one of them contacted the barrack and reported their wallets and cash had been taken from their vehicle. The suspect had been at their home earlier in the night.

Investigators have confirmed the registration plate was stolen in Cambridge several days ago. They confirmed the Chevrolet Equinox was reported stolen to the Salisbury Police Department on September 16th.

Maryland State Police crime scene technicians have processed the scene. A gun has not been recovered. Technicians did recover a cell phone and a bag of suspected marijuana.

The thefts are being investigated by troopers and criminal investigators from the Salisbury Barrack.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is investigating the trooper-involved shooting. The Maryland State Police Internal Affairs Unit will also be conducting an investigation, as is procedure. The trooper involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave, which is also State Police procedure.

The investigation is continuing.

Nat Turner, the leader of a violent Virginia slave uprising, will be honored on a new emancipation statue in Richmond

A state commission planning an anti-slavery monument in downtown Richmond voted Wednesday to include Nat Turner, the leader of a bloody 1831 slave uprising in Southampton County, among a group of 10 African-American figures who will be honored on the statue’s base.

The work on the new statue being done by the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Commission has thus far avoided controversy, but the decision to include Turner — seen as a freedom fighter by many and a mass murderer by others — is likely to bring a new level of attention to the planning process for the monument meant to celebrate the Emancipation Proclamation and the end of slavery.

Turner was by far the most hotly debated name Wednesday as a panel of state lawmakers and historians tried to select 10 honorees from a list of 30 finalists.

“If nothing else, he’s the bravest black man in that era,” said Charles Withers, a commission member from Roanoke who pushed for Turner’s inclusion. “It’s problematic for me as a black man in modern-day society to stand up sometimes. I can’t imagine the courage that Nat Turner had.”

Schultz was not cooperative and would not comply with officers' commands to drop the knife, the GBI said. They said Schultz approached the officers, despite continuous commands.

John Jay College is a university focusing on criminal justice.

The comment made headlines this week but was magnified after Fox News host Tucker Carlson had Isaacson on his show and debated him.

OCPD’s Prostitution Bust Targeted Johns With Online Bike-Themed Posts

OCEAN CITY — The 12 arrestees in a weekend-long prostitution sting operation in Ocean City were lured to the resort by responding to false Internet postings under the guise of fictitious names such as Bike Week Beth and Bike Week Beauty.

The Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) Narcotics Unit and Special Enforcement Unit conducted a prostitution sting operation last Thursday night through Saturday night with the help of the Worcester County Criminal Enforcement Team, the Maryland State Police and Homeland Security. A total of 12 arrests were made, mostly for general prostitution, although two also had drug charges.

The suspects were lured into the sting by responding to fictitious Internet postings in sites like craigslist and Backpage, for example, which advertised the exchange of sexual favors for money. For example, one of the false investigatory accounts was entitled Bike Week Beth, while a different posting was advertised as Bike Week Beauty.

Hillary Clinton: Women Only Voted For Trump Because Their Husbands Told Them To

Hillary Clinton’s delusions continue.

It’s been almost a year since the election, and now Hillary’s blaming married women who voted for Donald Trump for her loss to the president back in November.

Still unwilling to take any responsibility for her loss to Donald Trump, Hillary continues to play the blame game. So far, she’s blamed everyone from her most trusted advisor, Huma Abedin, to the infamous socialist and fellow democrat Bernie Sanders, for the disastrous campaign and ridiculous ideas she championed last year. But she doesn’t stop there anymore. Now it’s the fault of married women who voted for Donald Trump.

A Viewer Writes: The Gas Game by Bob Aswell

Last week if you remember Joe, I composed some facts concerning gas on the Shore. There were various nay-sayers again with a load of snide comments that were also a load of oats that had already gone thru a horse trying to discredit the things I brought out.
Miraculously starting on Thursday late, gas started a downturn with the price of raw crude STILL at close to $50.00 a barrel. When the
NYSE opened this morning (Monday) the per barrel price was $49.67. Odd, crude goes up and gas goes DOWN???
I think I'm a lot sharper than I get credit for. I talk out of my mouth with facts not out of other orifices with smoke. Since I DON'T know about the gas 'GAME' why are we paying less? I guess I exposed some logic they wish was still in the dark!!!!!!!!! I filled up at the Exxon in Fruitland on Sunday and the pump price was $2.49.9. down from $2.64.9 on Tuesday of the same week!!!!!

6 Reasons Why Cannabis Is Not A Gateway Drug

Meth, opioids, cocaine, heroin, and an array of synthetics open hellish holes of addiction, despair, and frequent death. And, if you listen to the wrong people, they’ll tell you cannabis is a gateway drug, too.

Cannabis is unequivocally not a gateway drug. But, to confirm that you must sometimes see the difference between cause and circumstance. Here are 6 reasons why cannabis is not a gateway drug.

1. Authoritative voices say there is not conclusive proof that cannabis is a gateway drug. The fact that marijuana use may proceed the use of hard drugs has been substantiated in some experiments on rats. But, there is no logic to the assumption that just because an event precedes another event that it causes that second event. Scholars call that fallacious thinking “post hoc ergo propter hoc.”

The National Institute of Drug Abuse addresses this issue and reports, “the majority of people who use marijuana do not go on to use other, ‘harder’ substances.” They go on to say, “An alternative to the gateway-drug hypothesis is that people who are more vulnerable to drug-taking are simply more likely to start with readily available substances such as marijuana, tobacco, or alcohol, and their subsequent social interactions with others who use drugs increases their chances of trying other drugs.”

Miriam Boeri, writing for Newsweek, even claims, “For decades, scientists who study addiction have received have received millions of dollars in government and pharmaceutical funding to perpetuate the gateway hypothesis. Many would lose their respected reputations (or continued funding) if a gateway mechanism is not a legitimate research goal.”

African-American Students Offended by Cotton Centerpiece, "black meal"

The president of Lipscomb University issued a public apology after an untold number of African American students were offended by a dinner table centerpiece made from stalks of cotton.

Yes, good readers – a group of college students was triggered by the fabric of our lives.

Randy Lowry, president of the Christian university based in Nashville, had invited African American students to his home for dinner last week.

One student who attended the gathering posted a diatribe on Instagram – along with a photo of the “offensive” centerpiece.

“We were very offended,” the student wrote. “My friend … asked why there was cotton on the table as the centerpiece. His response was that he didn’t know, he seen it before we did, he kind of thought it was ‘fallish’, THEN he said, “it ISNT INHERENTLY BAD IF WERE ALL WEARING IT.”

Wicomico Government Office Building Forced To Close Down Again On Friday Morning

All employees working for Wicomico County were sent home at 9:30 AM Friday because, (once again) there was no water. Without a doubt, this cost taxpayers some $20,000.00 and some are wondering if the City will reimburse the County for this expense as well as the last time Downtown construction forced the County to shut down.

What do you think?

City Expense Has Already Begun for the National Folk Festival

Jake Day and the Jakettes have just taken money that was appropriated for the Fire Department and Police Department in Salisbury's current budget to pay the salary of the “manager” that the City has hired for the NFF. The ordinance amending the budget says that funds for certain things that were important for those departments when the budget was adopted a few months ago are no longer needed and can be dropped in order to generate $61,000 for the manager’s salary.

Since the NFF is a three year deal, it looks like the total salary in all three years, plus benefits, will be in the $250,000 range.

This, sports fans, is the tip of the iceberg -- make that the start of the money-pit.

A Letter to the Editor 9-23-17 Gender Neutral Cap & Gowns

I just got our weekly phone call and an email from my child's high school principal.

Apparently the Wicomico County Board of Education has caved in to political correctness. It appears High Schools are going all Gender Neutral on graduation night so they don't offend a few freaks of nature. They will have only one cap and gown and they will be making the kids wear both school colors on their caps and gowns instead of girls wearing white and boys wearing green.

Girls wearing one color and boys wearing another color has been a national tradition since the beginning of graduations. What the Hell is going on in this County. Who the Hell approved this!!

Here is a copy of the statement on the Gender Neutral caps and gowns.

Good evening RamFam!

This is Kimberly Pinhey, Parkside Principal bringing you the RAM News for September 25, 2017.

Even though we are just starting the school year we are already planning for senior events such as graduation. The first Senior Parent meeting will take place Wednesday, September 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the Parkside Auditorium and Jostens will be here on Tuesday, October 24, for senior orders. For your information, Wicomico high schools will be moving to one gown style for all students this year that will encompass both of our school colors, green and white. Jostens is aware of this and will be able to assist seniors with any questions they may have about their senior order. Please assure students the orders will be processed correctly and they need to get these orders in early to avoid the increased fees associated with later orders each year.

A Viewer Writes: State Police Helicopter

Any idea why there was a Md State Police helicopter in Willow Creek yesterday around 3:45 PM. It was actually sitting over a small tree about 40 feet in the air with rotors spinning pointed toward Sunbury Court for a good 10 minutes. Then hovered in the sky over the backyards of people on Sunbury for another 15 minutes, but much higher in the sky.

Drafting Guys Over 60

I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing ass-backwards.

Instead of sending 18-year-olds off to fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 55.

For starters, researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds. Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a month, leaving us more than 280,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts! I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry.' We are bad-tempered and impatient, and maybe letting us kill some asshole that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for a while.

An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10 am. Old guys always get up early to pee, so what the hell. Besides, like I said, I'm tired and can't sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical son-of-a-bitch.

If captured, we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put them. In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser.

Boot camp would be easier for old guys. We're used to getting screamed and yelled at and we're used to soft food. We've also developed an appreciation for guns. We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling.

They could lighten up on the obstacle course however. I've been in combat and never saw a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training.

Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy, too. I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet.

An 18-year-old has the whole world ahead of him. He's still learning to shave, to start a conversation with a pretty girl. He still hasn't figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head.

These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm's way.

Let us old guys track down those terrorists. The last thing an enemy would want to see is a couple million pissed off old farts with bad attitudes and automatic weapons who know that their best years are already behind them.

HEY!! How about recruiting Women over 50... in menopause!!! You think MEN have attitudes?? Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my God!!! If nothing else, put them on border patrol. They'll have it secured the first night!

Sliding NFL ratings could throw networks for a loss

In a fractured media environment where award-winning scripted dramas compete for the public's attention along with goofy cat videos, one of the few things that multibillion dollar media and entertainment conglomerates could count on to attract millions of viewers -- and generate the ad revenue that keeps them in business -- was the National Football League.

These days, however, the most popular U.S. professional sport isn't such a sure bet. According to Pivotal Research analyst Brian Wieser, viewership for the NFL was down 14 percent on a year-over-year basis during the first week of the 2017-18 season. That's the lowest level of same-week viewing since 2009.

As a result, Walt Disney (DIS), parent of ESPN; CBS (CBS), parent of CBS MoneyWatch; Fox (FOXA), parent 21st Century Fox and Comcast (CMCSA), whose properties include NBC, are in a bind. They've counted on the NFL to buttress their business as audiences for cable and broadcast networks have dwindled in recent years. It has been an expensive strategy.

Fox, CBS and Comcast signed a $27 billion deal with the NFL for the right tobroadcast games through 2022. ESPN reportedly pays $1.9 billion per year for the rights to "Monday Night Football," a 73 percent increase over the previous contract. NBC and CBS signed a $900 million deal in 2016 for the rights to broadcast Thursday night games.

Meanwhile, millennial protestors set up shop across the street to protest the appearance of Hillary, chanting “lock her up,” wearing MAGA hats and holding Trump campaign signs.

A Viewer Writes: Concern about Nanticoke Memorial Hospital Staff Member

I am emailing you as a concerned citizen of Sussex County, Delaware, and Delmarva. It has come to my attention that a staff member at your hospital was recently arrested as part of a human trafficking ring. This person is Douglas Entenman, who is employed as the ED (Emergency Department) Clinical Educator at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.

It is my understanding that Mr. Entenman is still employed at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital at this time, and has even been on duty since his arrest. I find it appalling that your hospital continues to employ him and have him serve the citizens of our great community after his arrest. Mr. Entenman's position at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital is one of leadership, which should be looked upon with respect, as as an educator for other nurses...yet his actions, and most likely his beliefs, do not reflect such a position, as suggested by his involvement in such activities which has led to his arrest.

This is not the first time Mr. Entenman's actions have been unbecoming of a nurse, as his nursing license was suspended in PA in 2007 due to "felony and misdemeanor convictions under the Drug Act." http://www.dos.pa.gov/ProfessionalLicensing/VerifyaProfessional/DisciplinaryActions/Documents/2007/09-07_nursing_board.pdf .
