Maryland Department of the Environment, Prince George’s County Police Seek Stolen Construction Tool Containing Small Amounts of Radioactive Material

Device reported stolen from construction site in Prince George’s County, not a hazard as long as radioactive material remains locked

Baltimore, MD – The Maryland Department of the Environment is issuing a public notice that a gauge containing a small, sealed amount of radioactive material has been reported to have been stolen from a highway project site in Prince George’s County.

A Troxler Model 3440 portable moisture density gauge was reported stolen yesterday from a state highways project. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration reported the theft to the Maryland Department of the Environment.

The device contains small amounts of cesium-137 and americium-241. The gauge is used to make measurements by projecting the radiation from the two radioactive sources into the ground and then displaying the reflected radiation on a dial on its top.

House Dems Hired A Fired McDonald’s Worker As Their IT Guy

Multiple members of Congress hired as their information technology (IT) administrator an individual whose most recent job experience was being fired from McDonald’s, The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group has learned.

Spokesmen for the members won’t say what their bosses knew at the time, but the hiring decisions highlight the role — witting or unwitting — the representatives played in what turned out to be an alleged multi-million-dollar IT scam in Congress with serious implications for national security.

Soon after Imran Awan joined the staff of Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz in 2005, his brothers Abid and Jamal, his wife Hina, and his brother’s wife Natalia all appeared on other members’ payrolls, supposedly as IT administrators. His best friend Rao Abbas landed on the payroll too. Most of them made salaries ordinarily only chiefs of staff earn, but they were rarely seen or heard from in Hill IT circles.

Dozens of new state laws take effect Saturday

Dozens of new state laws will take effect on Saturday, including measures to increase opioid education programs for young people and increase the barrel limit for craft breweries.

Other measures taking effect would provide state money for Planned Parenthood if federal funding is cut off, and would extend tax credits to emergency responders.

Minimum-wage workers across the state could also see a pay raise to $9.25 per hour on July 1, the result of annual increases included in a bill passed three years ago.

"She Will Not Be Rehired" University Cuts Ties With Professor Who Said Warmbier "Deserved To Die"

The University of Delaware has cut ties with an adjunct professor who posted on social media that US student Otto Warmbier “deserved to die” after being imprisoned in North Korea and slipping into a coma from which he never awakened. Warmbier died last week at a hospital in Cincinnati. His family has blamed the viciousness of the North Korean regime for his death.

UD released a statement Sunday which said the former professor, Kathy Dettwyler, "will not be rehired to teach at the University in the future." Dettwyler was not a member of the faculty when she made her inflammatory comments, according to Delaware Online.

In her inflammatory post, Dettwyler wondered if it was “wrong” to think Warmbier “got exactly what he deserved.”

Warmbier, she continued, was “typical of a mindset of a lot of the young, white, rich, clueless males who come into my classes.”

"These are the same kids who cry about their grades because they didn't think they'd really have to read and study the material to get a good grade... His parents ultimately are to blame for his growing up thinking he could get away with whatever he wanted. Maybe in the US, where young, white, rich, clueless white males routinely get away with raping women. Not so much in North Korea. And of course, it's Ottos' parents who will pay the price for the rest of their lives,” she wrote in the post, which has since been taken down.

USCIS to Naturalize 15,000 New Citizens During Independence Day Holiday

WASHINGTON - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will celebrate the 241st anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and our nation’s birthday, by welcoming nearly 15,000 new U.S. citizens during more than 65 Independence Day-themed naturalization ceremonies across the country this year.

“July Fourth marks the birth of our country, and for 15,000 people, it marks the birth of a new chapter as American citizens,” USCIS Acting Director James McCament said. “These new members of our community will add to the diverse fabric of our nation and will now be able to enjoy the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship.”

USCIS’ Independence Day activities this year will feature a naturalization ceremony at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 3. Democratic Rep: Citing Uncomfortable Data Is White Privilege

Republican Iowa Rep. Steve King found himself accused of using his white privilege last week after he offered statistics that Democratic Louisiana Rep. Cedric Richmond didn’t like.

It all started at a House Judiciary Committee hearing where King brought up the high-crime rates of Central American nations that many immigrants hail from. King called the violence of countries like El Salvador shocking, but then pointed out that some cities in the U.S. have comparable murder rates.

“That shocking number in El Salvador, that 93.09 violent deaths per 100,000 — shocking until I looked up the data that was delivered to this committee from former member and stellar member Randy Forbes of Virginia, who had gone to New Orleans to examine the violent death rate and the crime rates,” the Iowa congressman stated. “And New Orleans, this was post-Katrina, and there the violent death rate, that was actually characterized as a homicide rate, in New Orleans was 90 per 100,000.”

The murder rate for New Orleans has since lowered to 44.8 per 100,000 — a figure that still makes it one of the deadliest cities in the country.

Don’t Get Sick from Your Holiday Picnic

 DOVER — Summer months mean picnics, days at the beach, camping, and road trips. But as temperatures continue to rise, so do your chances of contracting a foodborne illness if you do not properly handle and sanitize your food. The Division of Public (DPH) Health Office of Food Protection encourages Delawareans to be mindful of keeping food out in the hot sun too long and knowing the proper procedures for cooking meats and poultry.

Due to a variety of factors, including warmer temperatures, foodborne illnesses increase during the summer. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in six Americans are stricken with food poisoning each year and there are 128,000 cases of foodborne illnesses that require hospitalization.

“Washing and sanitizing your hands and the surfaces where you prepare food are just the start of the precautions you should be taking,” said DPH Director Dr. Karyl Rattay. “To properly protect against foodborne illnesses it is also important to separate plates and utensils used for raw and cooked meat, keep raw foods chilled at all times, wash produce before cutting or cooking it, even if you plan to peel them and cook foods to their proper temperatures, among other key steps.”

Bicycle rack plan for buses deemed impractical, while rider path idea still stalled

Bicycle racks affixed to Ocean City’s buses is an idea whose time may never come, as resort officials earlier this month killed a proposal that would see them installed by summer 2018.

At its June 13 meeting, the Transportation Commission declined to proceed with a proposed bike rack plan, since the racks would cost $240 each. That would add $2,160 to the purchase cost of nine additional buses that Public Works Director Hal Adkins ordered for next season.

The idea for the bicycle racks was inspired by Adkins’s efforts to bring bikers off the roads and onto the buses for safety reasons last fall. Notably, the commission discussed it in connection to the J-1 visa students, many of whom rent bicycles to use as a mode of transportation.

According to estimates from United Work and Travel, 1,200 students in 2016 were living in West Ocean City and biked over the Route 50 bridge to work and back.

Democrats are insulting the public with dire claims of deaths from Obamacare repeal

There are times when I want to scream at the radio. One commentator or another has just declared that, according to the CBO, 22-million people will lose their health care. In response, the senior Democrat in DC declared that “hundreds of thousands” will die. It's a lie. Fake news. Made-up hoax. Dezinformatsiya. Pick your favorite term.

The very idea that having health insurance is what allows you to have health care is simply wrong. Our first step has to be EMTALA. This alphabet soup statute makes it illegal for any hospital to put "Do you have insurance?" between you and medical care for an emergency. That means that every hospital in the country will fix what's wrong with you. Afterward they may try to get their pound of flesh back, but there are a host of programs, including the American Health Care Act-protected "Pre-existing Conditions" provision that will take care of things. Notice I did not say the "Obamacare" provision.

Now that we've debunked the first big lie, let's consider the purpose of insurance. When Blue Cross was invented by doctors and hospitals, it was a way to make sure that they got paid. If they could convert some charity work into profit, what was not to like? It wasn't about making sure that people could get care. It was about their wallets.

Money set aside aids beach work

Advance $3 million allows corps to begin replenishment early

The beach replenishment program that keeps the ocean from washing over Ocean City has the money it needs to proceed a year early, even though the 2018 federal budget remains in the murky stage.

At a Monday morning press conference, Senators Ben Cardin (D- Md.) and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) stressed that getting the money for the program in advance is a solid investment for the state.

“I don’t have to tell you that the 2018 budget is very unclear at this point, so there’s no guarantee the budget will pass in time,” Cardin said while standing under the Boardwalk’s archway on North Division Street. “That’s why we had to advance $3 million to beach replenishment because it’s vitally important to Maryland. This is an incredible place and people love the beach.”

Vice Media Retracts Two Stories on Trump's Disney Display

Vice Media announced Wednesday it was retracting two stories that reported President Donald Trump's White House was feuding with Disney World management.

The outlet said it had found "several factual errors" in a story posted on its Motherboard site May 19, "Here's the Secret Backstage Trump Drama at Walt Disney World's Hall of Presidents." The article was archived and posted by The Washington Free Beacon.

The first post was followed last Monday by a second piece, "Behind the Scenes of Disney's Donald Trump 'Hall of Presidents' Installation," which was also archived and posted by the Free Beacon.

Both posts claimed "behind-the-scenes drama and internal machinations" about whether Trump would have a speaking role in Disney's Hall of the Presidents," the Free Beacon reported.

In an editor's note, the outlet said sourcing and errors triggered the retraction.

McCarthy Calls on Rep.-Elect Gomez to Resign If He Continues to Delay House Job

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) is calling on Representative-elect Jimmy Gomez (D., Calif.) to resign if he continues to wait to assume his House duties in order to vote on a California assembly cap-and-trade bill.

Gomez won the June 6 special election to replace former Rep. Xavier Becerra who resigned to become California attorney general in January. However, Gomez has put off his House swearing in ceremony for more than three weeks.

McCarthy on Wednesday accused Gomez of "neglecting his job" in order to remain in the California assembly to provide a two-thirds majority vote on a bill to extend the state's cap-and-trade program.

"They have already increased the gas tax on California citizens and now they want to increase it even higher?" McCarthy asked in an interview on Fox News Wednesday. "I think he is neglecting his job. Either he wants to be a member of Congress, or he should be honest with his constituents and we should elect somebody who wants to come here and work day one."

BREAKING: Gunman 'dressed as a doctor' shoots 'multiple people' at a hospital in the Bronx

At least three doctors were shot at Bronx Lebanon Hospital this afternoon by a gunman in a lab coat.

The incident began unfolding at around 2.45pm at the medical center on Grand Concourse in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx.

Police sources say a gunman dressed as a doctor opened fire on the 16th floor of the hospital and shot multiple people.

Just before 4pm, J Peter Gould, an NYPD spokesperson, tweeted: 'One shooter is deceased at the hospital.'

Local news outlets identified the shooter as 35-year-old Dr Henry Bello, a former employee at the hospital.

Rare Whale Shark Sighting A Thrill On Overnight Fishing Trip

OCEAN CITY – Patrons and crew members on an overnight fishing charter received a surprise visit from a whale shark this week while off the coast of Ocean City.

Steve Moore, a full-time captain with Stalker Sportfishing Charters, said the encounter took place early Tuesday morning.

He explained that five individuals and the three-man crew were on the charter boat Stalker for an overnight fishing trip 68 miles off the shore of Ocean City, beyond the Washington Canyon, when they first spotted the whale shark.

Having little luck on the fishing lines, Moore said he decided to lie down while his mate, Cory Lednum, kept watch at the back of the boat.

Owner of seafood market boiling mad about lobster picture

OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WTNH) — The lobster tanks at Atlantic Seafood are packed for the holiday weekend. They do a lot of special orders there, but what happened to one special order recently has the owner boiling.

“That’s not part of their jobs, it’s not what we pay for, it’s not how we feel protected,” said owner Lisa Feinman.

She was furious when she saw a picture taken by a TSA agent at Logan Airport. The agent is smiling while he holds a 15-pound lobster by its claws.

She had carefully packed the 15-pounder along with a dozen other smaller lobsters on top of it.

“We put paper with saltwater on them just to kind of keep them wet keep them moist,” said Feinman.

Her customer, who was bringing the lobsters to Georgia, checked the duct-taped cooler of crustaceans which just made the fifty pound weight limit.

“It was written on it fragile live lobsters,” said Feinman.

Matt Walsh: Courts in Europe have sentenced a baby to death. This is socialized medicine.

There’s a horrific case over in the U.K. that hasn’t gotten a ton of attention here, but it should. If we look closely, we may see our future — and our present.

Charlie Gard is a 10-month-old baby who suffers from a rare genetic disorder called mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome. It’s a horrendous condition that leads to organ malfunction, brain damage, and other symptoms. The hospital that had been treating the boy, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, made the determination that nothing more can be done for him and he must be taken off of life support. He should “die with dignity,” they said. The parents, Chris Gard and Connie Yates, disagreed.

This is the very crucial thing to understand: they are not insisting that GOSH be forced to keep Charlie on life support. Rather, they want to take him out of the hospital and to America to undergo a form of experimental therapy that a doctor here had already agreed to administer. Chris and Connie raised over $1.6 million to fund this last ditch effort to save their child’s life. All they needed the British hospital to do was release their child into their care, which doesn’t seem like a terribly burdensome request. They would then leave the country and try their luck with treatment here. However slim the chance of success may have been, it was better than just sitting by and watching their baby die.

Newt: CNN Should Bring in Independent Counsel to Investigate Fake News Scandal

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said on Tuesday that CNN should consider bringing in an independent counsel to investigate the company as a whole amid a fake news scandal in which they retracted a hit piece pertaining to President Donald Trump.

“They should appoint an outside analyst, somebody of impeccable authority like Michael Mukasey, who used to be Attorney General of the United States, to view everything of CNN and basically reset it,” he told Fox and Friends in an interview. Gingrich continued:

"You cannot get to a believable network while Zucker is there. He clearly made a gamble last year to be the leading anti-Trump network, he’s clearly done things that are absurdly wrong. I like lots of the people at CNN, I worked with them for a while. There are some very very good people at CNN, they have a very long tradition of being good journalists. But the culture of the overall system right now is very toxic."

FREDERICK — Before he got involved in the beer business, Frederick County farmer Greg Clabaugh grossed about $600 an acre for growing traditional crops like corn and soybeans.

Now, on the land where he grows barley and rye, he grosses $6,000 an acre.

Included in that number is payment for malting, a process where grains are partially germinated then heat-dried, allowing them to be more easily consumed by yeast in the brewing or distilling process.

Early today, I listed a list of the President's achievements in his short time at the White House. When you look at them, they provide an illustration of just why folks like CNN are purposefully ignoring truth to forward this Punch & Judy Show fakery.

The subterfuge is being stripped away from their glossy veneer once and for all, so viewers can finally see what 'Russians' really hacked the election. In short, those who patronize CNN are just getting fake news.

Bill Signings Following the adjournment of the General Assembly, Governor Hogan has signed into law a number of key legislation. Senator Eckardt’s complete 2017 Legislative Package was signed by Governor Hogan. This package includes legislation that addresses blighted housing, tax sales in Maryland, and Bay Restoration Fund aid to local municipalities. Governor Hogan vetoed the Paid Sick Leave legislation (House Bill 1). The Governor has urged the General Assembly to work with the administration to work on common sense paid sick leave. House Bill 1 would cost small business owners additional charges and regulations per employee. This risks the elimination of small business jobs in the State. House Bill 1 was not scheduled to go into law until January of 2018; therefore, the Governor is calling on the General Assembly to come to a compromise for all the citizens of Maryland by January.

2017 Regional Rural Broadband Forum Meeting The Rural Maryland Council hosted the first Regional Rural Broadband Forum Meeting in May. Delegate Mautz and I worked hard this winter to pass legislation that addresses the internet, broadband, wireless, and cellular service connectivity issues throughout rural areas in Maryland. The Connecting Rural Maryland Act of 2017 legislation implements a task force, chaired by the Rural Maryland Council, that studies local service connectivity issues and ways to best address these concerns. Many thanks to the Rural Maryland Council for bringing together all the players and getting ahead start on this important initiative. The task force shall submit its findings and recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly by November 30, 2017.

Democrat/MSM Collusion vs the First Amendment and Liberty

Our Founders rightly asserted that the First Amendment protection of a free press would be a powerful check on statist usurpation — that a free press was the most promising assurance for extending Liberty to future generations.

Consistent with the views of other Founders, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Our liberty cannot be guarded but by the freedom of the press, nor that be limited without danger of losing it.” He also noted, “No government ought to be without censors & where the press is free, no one ever will.”

Indeed.

However, after his first term in office, in his 1805 second inaugural address, Jefferson wrote: “During the course of administration, and in order to disturb it, the artillery of the press has been levelled against us, charged with whatsoever its licentiousness could devise or dare. These abuses of an institution so important to freedom and science are deeply to be regretted, inasmuch as they tend to lessen its usefulness and to sap its safety.”

A free press was and remains essential to the protection and advancement of Liberty. But as Jefferson noted, the disingenuous adulteration of that sacred First Amendment trust, in which the media abandons its responsibility and colludes with partisans to become an instrument of their bidding, perilously endangers the future of Liberty.

In principle, our Founders’ advocacy for a free press was correct. In practice today, however, the collusion between the statist Democrat Party and its press outlets — the Demo/MSM propaganda machine, which now encompasses most of the mainstream media — has devolved into the most significant self-inflicted threat to Liberty today.

A New Strategy for Collecting Child Support: Debt Forgiveness

Westchester County, N.Y., is using debt forgiveness as an incentive for finding employment and paying child support. Will it work?

Officials in Westchester County, N.Y., want to help low-income fathers who are behind in their child support payments.

"These guys aren’t deadbeats," says Kevin McGuire, the county's social services commissioner. "They’re dead broke."

In a 2006 study of nine states, 70 percent of late child support payments were owed by parents who made no more than $10,000 a year. For these parents, the average child support obligation equaled about 83 percent of their reported income, according to the Urban Institute.

Time To Ticket Jaywalkers In OC

One of the takeaways from this week’s press conference on the OC Walk Smart initiative was Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan’s call for police to crack down on enforcement.

Although the costumed crab character used as a symbol of the safety initiative is silly, there’s nothing lighthearted about the fact many people take their lives into their own hands when they ignore pedestrian and bicycle laws in Ocean City. It’s a miracle more people are not seriously injured or killed on Ocean City’s roadways considering the massive volume of vehicles, bikes and pedestrians.

At this week’s largely feel good conference, Meehan’s message to police to crack down with tickets on jaywalking violators and other law breakers stood out. The idea being people need to be held accountable for their actions, which in many cases put themselves and other innocent bystanders in harm’s way. Unfortunately, as history indicates, these indiscretions can often have tragic consequences.

Presence of Smartphone Makes Users Stupid

New US research has found that just having your smartphone nearby reduces cognitive capacity and the ability to complete tasks -- even when it's switched off.

Carried out by researchers from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, the study set out to try to measure for the first time how well people can complete tasks when they have their smartphones nearby, but are not using them.

The team recruited nearly 800 smartphone users, who in the first part of the study were asked to sit at a computer and complete a series of tests that required full concentration in order to attain a good score.

The tests were designed to measure participants' available cognitive capacity -- the brain's ability to hold and process data at any given time.

Participants were randomly instructed to either place their smartphone either face down on the desk, in their pocket, in their bag, or in another room.

Regardless of where their phone was, all participants were instructed to turn their phones to silent.

During a softball interview with Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, MSNBC gave Richards the assist by using debunked pro-PP statistics in their chyron.

Richards was interviewed on “Morning Joe” Wednesday and the hosts avoided any difficult questions about the debate over abortion rights or about Planned Parenthood’s cancer-related services declining.

“From your point of view, what is [Republican’s] apparent obsession with Planned Parenthood?” Mike Barnicle asked helpfully.

“Are there places where Planned Parenthood is the only option?” Mika Brzezinski lobbed to Richards.


The only question related to abortion at all came from Willie Geist, who asked if Richards would ever consider President Trump’s proposal that Planned Parenthood stop providing abortions so they can continue to receive federal funding.

During Richards’ answer, MSNBC assisted her by putting up a chyron with a favorable, but false, statistic about Planned Parenthood.

“Data: Only 3% Of Planned Parenthood Services Go To Abortion Services,” the chyron incorrectly stated.

Family Hoping For Best As Teen Faces Paralysis After Shallow Dive

OCEAN CITY — A West Virginia family is hoping and praying for the best and expecting the worst this week after a 19-year-old family member dove head first into the bay at 25th Street and had to be airlifted to a Baltimore hospital with neck and back trauma and paralysis.

For the second time in less than a week, a teenager dove head first into the bay and suffered traumatic injuries, this time at 25th Street on Tuesday afternoon. Around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the Ocean City Police Department and the Ocean City Fire Department responded to the area of 25th Street and the bay for a reported diving incident.

The investigation revealed Cody Owens, 19, dove head first into the bay at 25th Street. Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 4 responded and transported the victim to a Baltimore area hospital with severe neck and back trauma and partial paralysis.

On Wednesday, Owens’ stepfather Stephen Litten said the victim had some movement in his upper extremities, but had paralysis below the waist. Litten said Owens was alert and responsive and was going into surgery on Wednesday morning with the hopes of restoring some of his movement.

Claire McCaskill Used Undisclosed Foundation to Pay for Dinner at Russian Ambassador’s House

Democrat Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.) used a personal foundation to pay for a dinner she attended at Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak's Washington, D.C., residence. The senator had failed to disclose her role in the foundation until earlier this month.

McCaskill came under fire this March after she told the Washington Post she never had a "call or meeting" with Kislyak even though she had publicly announced both a call and meeting with him. This week, CNN reported that McCaskill also attended a black-tie reception at Kislyak's D.C. residence in November 2015.

McCaskill's attendance at the dinner was accompanied by an $873 payment to the American-Russian Cultural Cooperation Foundation, where Kislyak serves on the board of directors as honorary chairman.

Justice Department drops fight over 'Redskins' name

The Justice Department on Thursday dropped the legal challenge to the the Washington Redskins' name, the Associated Press reported.

According to the AP, the Trump administration dropped the challenge in a letter to the Supreme Court in response to last week's ruling in Matal V. Tam, in which an Asian-American rock band won the right to copyright the name "The Slants," despite the name's offensive connotation.

In the Thursday letter, the Justice Department argues that the Matal V. Tam decision means that the court would decide in favor of the Washington Redskins if the case went before the justices.

Last week, Redskins owner Dan Snyder drew the same conclusion, and said he was "thrilled" by the court's decision in the copyright case His lawyer, Lisa Blatt, issued a statement saying that the court's decision resolved the dispute over the NFL team's name.

Woodward Chides NYT, Mainstream Media

Famed investigative journalist Bob Woodward criticized the media’s open bias toward President Trump on Tuesday in remarks following a screening of “All The President’s Men” in Washington, D.C.

Woodward, the reporter who broke the Nixon Watergate scandal the media now loves to compare to the Trump administration, said it’s crucial the press retain the trust of the public, and execute a deep “fair-mindedness” when reporting.

“Tone matters, and headlines matter, and you want people to [trust you],” he said. “I think a kind of brief, deeply fair-mindedness is essential, but as essential or maybe more essential is a game plan for reporting this and going to Moscow and finding the bookkeeper.”

The bookkeeper was a reference to a key source for Woodward and Carl Bernstein in their Watergate coverage.

Philadelphia DA faces five years jail on bribery charges

Philadelphia's top prosecutor has pleaded guilty to a corruption charge and agreed to resign.

In a surprising move, District Attorney Seth Williams pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to a single count of accepting a bribe from a businessman.

As a result of his guilty plea, Williams faces up to five years behind bars, and he agreed to forfeit almost $65,000.

The 50-year-old Democrat was led out of court in handcuffs after the plea, after District Judge Paul Diamond ruled he had to be remanded until sentencing in October.

'I have a guilty plea from the highest law officer in the city that he betrayed his office and he sold his office … I am appalled by the evidence that I heard,' the judge said, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

'I simply do not credit this defendant’s testimony. I do not believe him.'

Obama-appointed judges dismiss Supreme Court ruling, continue blocking Trump’s immigration crackdown

President Trump may have won a partial victory at the Supreme Court this week, but other federal judges remain major stumbling blocks to his aggressive immigration plans, with courts from California to Michigan and Atlanta limiting his crackdown on sanctuary cities and stopping him from deporting illegal immigrants he has targeted for removal.

The judges in those deportation cases have rejected Mr. Trump’s argument that he has wide latitude to decide who gets kicked out, without having to worry about district courts second-guessing him on facts of the case.

Instead, the judges said, they get to decide their jurisdiction, and that extends to reviewing Mr. Trump’s immigration policy.

One judge in Michigan ordered the Homeland Security Department to freeze all deportation plans for about 200 Chaldean Christians arrested over the past two months and scheduled to be sent back to Iraq. Nearly every one of them has a criminal record.

A judge in Atlanta ordered the department to reinstate the temporary deportation amnesty — known in governmentspeak as the DACA program — for Jessica Colotl, an illegal immigrant Dreamer whose past made her a target for deportation, officials said.

Maryland's Weekly Fishing Report - June 28, 2017

For many it seems hard to believe that the 4th of July holiday is upon us, for others it probably seemed like it would never get here. One thing is for certain, the kids are out of school and ready to have some vacation adventures with their parents or smaller outings which are often more cherished and meaningful. The important thing is to enjoy time together with family and few things offer better one on one time together than fishing. Plum Holton got to spend some time fishing with her dad out on the bay and they both shared in the excitement of her catching her first striped bass. Congratulations to Plum on a great catch!

Striped bass fishing in the lower Susquehanna River and the flats area are moving towards a summer mode of fishing as water temperatures warm. The Conowingo Dam is releasing large amounts of water for power generation in the mornings and into late afternoons which helps cool water temperatures in the river and creates faster flows in the river. Those casting with surf rods into the dam pool with weighted swim shads are catching some nice striped bass. The best fishing for striped bass has been at day break and it usually only lasts till the sun clears the horizon. Topwater lures have been a favorite around the flats edges and in the river.

Perry introduced herself, and Trump said to Prime Minister Varadkar, “Caitríona Perry. She has a nice smile on her face, so I bet she treats you well.” The exchange was immediately criticized by many people, who called it sexist. Perry herself described it as “bizarre”.

Missouri man cleared in 1997 sex case by DNA evidence

A Missouri man who has spent nearly two decades in mental hospitals has been freed after DNA on a cigarette butt exonerated him of a 1997 sex crime.

In 2000 Mike Wilkerson, now 58, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl at gunpoint - but that didn't have the effect he'd hoped for.

'Mike didn't understand when he entered the not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect - and the fact he had no other defense - that that's the legal equivalent of saying you did it,' said Wilkerson's appeals attorney, Bill Fleischaker.

'It's the legal equivalent of saying, "I'm guilty but insane," and that's the way it was treated.'

Chesapeake Bay Dead Zones Are Fading, But Proposed EPA Cuts Threaten Success

Drive east from Washington and eventually you run smack into the middle of the Chesapeake Bay, the massive estuary that stretches from the mouth of the Susquehanna River at Maryland's northern tip and empties into the Atlantic 200 miles away near Norfolk, Va.

The Chesapeake is home to oysters, clams, and famous Maryland blue crab.

It's the largest estuary in the United States.

And for a long time, it was one of the most polluted.

Decades of runoff from grassy suburban yards and farm fields as far north as New York state, plus sewage and other waste dumped by the hundreds of gallons, made the Chesapeake so dirty that by 1983, the crab population had plummeted to just 2 percent of what Capt. John Smith saw when he explored the bay in the 1600s.

For years, people tried to clean it up. States and the federal government spent millions of dollars. The first effort began in 1983 — officially launched by President Ronald Reagan in his 1984 State of the Union Address.

And each time, the cleanup efforts failed. The bay's health wasn't getting much better.

By 2009, when the Chesapeake Bay Foundation sued the Environmental Protection Agency in an attempt to get the EPA to do more to clean up the bay, the Chesapeake'sdead zone was so big it often covered a cubic mile in the summer.

Three Injured In Third Overnight Baltimore Beltway Work Zone Crash

(PARKVILLE, MD) — Two construction workers and a driver were injured this morning in the third overnight crash Maryland State Police have responded to in work zones on the Baltimore Beltway.

Two male highway workers were transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment of injuries. One was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter and the other was transported by ambulance. The female driver was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Identities are being withheld until families are notified.

At about 3:00 a.m. today, a Maryland state trooper working MDOT State Highway Administration work zone enforcement reported a crash had just occurred on the inner loop of I-695 at Harford Road. Additional troopers and fire/rescue personnel responded to the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of an SUV drove into the construction zone and struck the rear of an unoccupied pickup truck. The pickup truck was pushed forward into the two construction workers who were on foot.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. There is no indication of alcohol/drug impairment at this time. The active work zone was marked and a state trooper working an overtime assignment at the assignment had the emergency lights activated on his patrol car when the crash occurred.

According to a study published this week in The Journals of Gerontology, Series B: Psychological and Social Sciences, the more sexual activity those over 50 have, the more their brain function improves.

The research tested 73 people between the ages of 50 and 83 who participated in a standardized test to measure attention, memory, verbal fluency, language and visuospatial ability. The most improved brain function as a result of more sex came in verbal fluency and visuospatial tests, especially verbal fluency.

So if you women out there prefer the strong, silent type, avoid sex with him; he may unleash a torrent of words if you get frisky.

CNN producer: Trump 'probably right' about Russian 'witch hunt'

A producer for CNN admitted in a newly released undercover video that President Trump is "probably right" in accusing his opponents of engaging in a witch hunt as it relates to collusion with Russia.

The video, published online Monday night by conservative sting activist James O'Keefe's Project Veritas website, shows John Bonifield, a CNN producer who covers medical issues, saying, "I just feel like they really don't have it [proof of collusion] but they want to keep digging."
