An advertisement exposing NBA star LeBron James’ silence on human rights abuses in China was reportedly refused by a billboard company over fears the sign would anger the basketball player.
The ad, created by the National Legal and Policy Center, was to be posted earlier this month near the entrance to the NBA bubble in Orlando, Florida, according to the New York Post.
Riffing on James’ refusal to call out injustices by the Chinese government, the ad features his picture with the country’s red banner blocking his mouth.
“We cannot accept the ad as it is right now,” a representative for billboard company Outfront Media reportedly told NLPC. “The Chinese flag is Ok, and the silence is violence is ok.”
The problem was with James’ image, which Outfront refused to publish in the attack ad.
With the ad’s planned location being so close to the bubble, it would have certainly been seen by the NBA superstar.
“They thought that we were singling him out and were afraid that the ad would hurt LeBron’s feelings. But we were never going after LeBron James the person. We were going after his brand.”

Puppy set on fire at an Ohio park, suspect still on the loose
A puppy inside a cage at an Ohio park was set on fire last weekend — and investigators are still looking for those responsible for the heartless act.
The dog, who survived the horrifying ordeal, was found by firefighters at Walnut Hill Park in Columbus just after noon on Sunday, authorities said.
When members of the Columbus Division of Fire first arrived, they noticed the burning remnants of a plastic cage underneath a tree.
The firefighters then spotted the dog running around the park. The pooch had black plastic melted onto her back, authorities said.
The puppy was treated, and subsequently adopted, by staff at the Diley Hill Animal Medical Center and “is doing remarkably well,” according to the Columbus Division of Fire.

Man in Trump gear booted from Southwest flight for removing mask to eat
A black man wearing a “Trump 2020” mask was kicked off a Southwest Airlines after lowering it to eat a snack, a video appears to show.
The passenger, who was also sporting a “Black Voices for Trump” hat, is seen talking to a crew member while holding a bag of mixed nuts and wearing a face mask under his chin.
“Tell us the policy that says he cannot eat with his mask off?” a woman filming the video can be heard asking in the footage shared by SV News. “It’s the hat and the mask, it’s not the eating.”
A second video then shows the man leaving the Tuesday morning Tampa-to-Dallas flight.
The incident, which Southwest said came after the man repeatedly refused to wear a mask, was soon tweeted by Donald Trump Jr., who bashed the airline.
“WTF??? This is disgusting. I’ve been on a thousand flights in the last few months and everyone lowers their masks to eat and drink. I did it on a southwest flight earlier this week,” he wrote.

Trump slams censorship of The Post in first comment on Hunter Biden exposé
President Trump on Wednesday slammed the “terrible” censorship of The Post’s bombshell exposé on Hunter Biden’s hard drive and an alleged email linking Joe Biden to his son’s job at a Ukrainian energy company.
“So terrible that Facebook and Twitter took down the story of ‘Smoking Gun’ emails related to Sleepy Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in the @NYPost,” Trump tweeted from Air Force One en route to a campaign rally in Iowa.
“It is only the beginning for them. There is nothing worse than a corrupt politician. REPEAL SECTION 230!!!
Twitter blocked users from sharing The Post’s link to the story, which describes an alleged 2015 email from Burisma energy executive Vadym Pozharskyi thanking Hunter Biden for “giving an opportunity to meet your father.”
Biden, who led the Obama administration Ukraine policy, said last year, “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,” including his reported $83,000 monthly pay on Burisma’s board.
Twitter said Wednesday it prevented users from tweeting or direct-messaging a link to the article because it violated a ban on distributing hacked material.

Romney rips Trump, Pelosi, Keith Olbermann, says politics now ‘a vile, vituperative, hate-filled morass'
So let me see if I get this straight? RINO Romney hating on pretty much everybody, for hating 😂
Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah is stressing that the country’s politics has “moved away from the spirited debate to a vile, vituperative, hate-filled morass that is unbecoming of any free nation.”
Romney, the most vocal Republican critic of President Trump in Congress, took to Twitter on Tuesday to take aim at the president. He starts out by saying, "I have stayed quiet with the approach of the election", really Senator?
He then goes on his diatribe,
"The President calls the Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate 'a monster;' he repeatedly labels the Speaker of the House 'crazy;' he calls for the Justice Department to put the prior President in jail;” Romney wrote.
And he stressed that the president “attacks the Governor of Michigan on the very day a plot is discovered to kidnap her.”
But Romney also criticized Democrats, spotlighting that they “launch blistering attacks of their own.”
“Pelosi tears up the President's State of the Union speech on national television,” Romney said of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
And the senator slammed some in the media, highlighting that “Keith Olbermann calls the President a 'terrorist'. Media on the left and right amplify all of it.”
But Romney praised Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, saying the Democrats’ “Presidential nominee refuses to stoop as low as others.”
Apparently, the Senator is drinking from the same mind erasing water fountain as Sleepy Joe, because any time Joe is speaking, he is name calling and disrespecting our Commander in Chief.
At any rate, Romney urged that it’s “time to lower the heat. "Leaders must tone it down.""Leaders from the top and leaders of all stripes: parents, bosses, reporters, columnists, professors, union chiefs, everyone. The consequence of the crescendo of anger leads to a very bad place. No sane person can want that.”

‘I’m Not Happy’ – President Trump Doesn’t Rule Out Replacing AG Barr if He Wins Second Term
President Trump on Wednesday didn’t rule out replacing Attorney General Bill Barr if he were to win in November.
“No comment” Trump told Newsmax host Greg Kelly. “I’m not happy with all of the evidence I have. I’m not happy. I can tell you that.”
President Trump made these statements to Newsmax after it was reported that Barr’s unmasking probe quietly concluded without charges.
The US Attorney tapped by Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate “unmasking” done by Obama’s criminal officials around the 2016 has concluded the probe without bringing any charges, according to the Washington Post.

Georgia Democrat Vernon Jones rips Kamala Harris as 'intellectually dishonest' and 'dangerous'
Georgia Democratic State Rep. Vernon Jones blasted his party's vice presidential nominee, Sen. Kamala Harris, as "dangerous" for the minority community in an interview with Fox Business Network Tuesday.
Jones, who has endorsed President Trump's reelection, told "Making Money with Charles Payne" that there "would be chaos if Joe Biden was to win" the White House next month.
"First of all, Joe would not be the president," Jones told host Charles Payne. "It would be who? Kamala Harris. She will do any and everything, say any and everything for power. She is intellectually dishonest. She is flip-flopping. She has gone back and forth.
"A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris to be president, not Joe Biden," Jones emphasized. "She is dangerous."
Jones who is black himself, claimed that Harris was responsible for putting more than 130,000 "Black and brown" Americans behind bars during her tenure as San Francisco district attorney and California state attorney general.
He went on to call out Senate Judiciary Committee member Pat Leahy, D-Vt., who had questioned Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett about a picture of "long lines" at a voting precinct in DeKalb County, Ga. -- which Jones represents.
"Look at that line. I suspect neither you nor I have ever had to wait in line like that to vote," Leahy told Barrett. "People talked about, well, are we giving racial entitlement? This is not entitlement for any Americans. This is turning our back on democracy."
Jones accused Leahy of incorrectly trying to ascribe racism to incidences that have nothing to do with discrimination on the basis of skin color.
"It's the local leadership. We have a majority-Black council and city commissioner," he said. "We have a Black [county] executive and a Black director [of] elections ... If the lines are long, it is poor planning. They’re not adding precincts [or] equipment or employees. It is not about voter suppression."
Jones added that the true perpetrators of voter suppression are left-wing groups such as Antifa.
"The real voter suppression [is] how Antifa and Black Lives Matter are attacking Blacks and others for their independent thoughts and freedom of speech," he said. "That is voter suppression."

NBC News' decision to schedule Trump town hall during ABC's Biden event 'stunning and shameful,' critics say
NBC News' decision to host a town hall event with President Trump at the exact same time as ABC’s already scheduled event with Democratic nominee Joe Biden is getting criticized by staffers at both networks, stunned media watchers and angry viewers calling for a boycott of the network.
“NBC is doing a real disservice to American voters who won’t get to hear from both candidates," an ABC News insider told Fox News. "They should be ashamed of failing in their public service duty three weeks before a presidential election to chase ratings instead."
The New Yorker's Sue Halpern called the decision "stunning and shameful," while veteran political analyst Jeff Greenfield called it "indefensible."
The issue was a hot topic on Twitter, where some people even speculated that NBC is trying to help Trump by scheduling the events for the same time while others called to boycott the network. Some of the backlash even came from within the Peacock Network, according to reporter Yasher Ali.
"I've heard from over a dozen NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC sources (talent and staff) and the frustration with and anger toward their employer for scheduling a town hall against Biden is palpable," Ali tweeted.
NBC News determined the format, date, duration and time slot, Fox News has learned from an NBC insider who maintained the Trump campaign did not dictate any logistics of the event.
NBC also determined the format, audience, and chose “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie as moderator.

Medusa sculpture to be unveiled across from Manhattan court to honor #MeToo
A seven-foot statue of Medusa holding the head of a Greek hero will soon stand across from a Manhattan courthouse where Harvey Weinstein was convicted to honor the #MeToo movement.
“Medusa With The Head of Perseus” will be installed Monday and unveiled the following day in a park across from Manhattan Supreme Court, according to the group behind the statue.
“The place chosen is not accidental, since there they judge cases for crimes related to violence against women,” Sculptor Luciano Garbati wrote on Instagram.
The 1,000-pound bronze sculpture is a reimagined version of Medusa, a figure of ancient Greek mythology who was raped by one of the most powerful gods, Poseidon.
But instead of Poseidon being punished, Medusa was blamed and transformed into a monstrous beast with snakes for hair, as well as a gaze that could turn men into stone.
She was exiled and later hunted down by Perseus, who then displayed her head on his shield as a trophy.
The new effigy, however, gives Medusa a different ending, depicting her as empowered as she holds Perseus’ severed head in defiance.

IRS files lien against Marilyn Mosby & Nick Mosby for unpaid taxes
Two Maryland public figures are in hot water with the IRS.
Baltimore's City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby and Maryland Del. Nick Mosby had a lien filled against them for $45,000 worth of unpaid back taxes, according to court records.
The lien is an attempt to collect unpaid taxes from 2014-2016.
Delegate Nick Mosby said, "I have been in ongoing conversations with the IRS for five years about the tax consequences of an early withdrawal from my retirement savings plan, which I did to support unplanned expenses after a series of family tragedies. I expect to have the issue resolved in the coming days."
Marilyn Mosby who was sworn into office in January of 2015, and is Baltimore's top prosecutor, has not made a statement.
According to the Maryland State Constitution, it is possible to remove the Baltimore City State's Attorney from office.
Fox45 News learned that this past summer Marilyn Mosby, asked an Inspector General for an investigation into her out-of-town travel.

BRILLIANT! Senator Josh Hawley Went There — Asked Amy Coney Barrett About Hunter and Joe Biden’s Burisma Scandal
During questioning on Wednesday Senator Josh Hawley asked Judge Amy Coney Barrett about Hunter Biden and Joe Biden and their massive Ukrainian pay for play scandal.
Senator Hawley: This morning Senator Leahy asked you about the Foreign Emolument Clause. There allegations about foreign influence and since he asked you about it. He asked you if it was best described as an anti-corruption clause. You might remember that in terms of foreign influence and foreign interference. And he referenced the president and various allegations about foreign influence. Since he asked you about it and he asked about foreign influence in government I think it’s only fair to ask hypothetically, let’s a vice president of the United States who hypothetically had an alleged son who hypothetically worked for a foreign oligarch who then sold access to his father the vice president and his father then intervened in a case to make sure the oligarch wasn’t prosecuted. So the second question I would ask you is hypothetically would that constitute the kind of foreign interference the Constitution is concerned about?
Judge Barrett: I can’t answer hypotheticals.
Senator Hawley: Well I thought you might say that. And I’m glad you won’t because who knows that case may come before you.

Smoking-gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad
Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company, according to emails obtained by The Post.
The never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015, about a year after Hunter joined the Burisma board at a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.
“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” the email reads.
An earlier email from May 2014 also shows Pozharskyi, reportedly Burisma’s No. 3 exec, asking Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” on the company’s behalf.
The blockbuster correspondence — which flies in the face of Joe Biden’s claim that he’s “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings” — is contained in a massive trove of data recovered from a laptop computer.

Former candidate for Idaho governor charged with killing Colorado girl in 1984
An Idaho man who twice unsuccessfully ran for governor has been charged with murdering a 12-year-old Colorado girl who disappeared more than 35 years ago, authorities said.
Steven Dana Pankey, 69, of Meridian, was arrested Monday on charges of first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping and related counts in the death of Jonelle Matthews, his former neighbor in Greeley, who vanished from her home on December 20, 1984, Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke announced Tuesday.
Court documents obtained by CNN show Pankey had lived roughly two miles away from Jonelle’s home when she disappeared and about 10 miles away from where her body was found in July 2019 in a desolate field southeast of Greeley.
The girl’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head, police said, and she was the victim of a homicide.
Rourke told CNN there’s “no definitive” DNA link between the girl’s remains and Pankey, who “watched school children walk home” from where Jonelle went to middle school and admitted owning a gun in 1984, according to the indictment.
Pankey also “intentionally inserted himself” in the decades-long search for the girl, claiming to have knowledge of the crime that became “inconsistent and incriminating” over time, court documents show.
