OK....I just left the new Original Good Fella's in Pittsville. I met the owner, Tony. Tony is originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. His restaurant is not affiliated with the Good Fella's in Delmar, but he is partners with the guy who owns the Good Fella's in Dagsboro, DE.
It's important to note that this is basically a sub and pizza joint that serves hot meals as well.
I ordered lasagna and my wife ordered baked stuffed shells.
Each entree was served with a small garden salad that included olives (green and black) but no croutons. The dressing was a bit limited, though, as I had to settle for french and I prefer thousand island.
They serve soft drinks only because they don't have a liquor license. I was welcomed to bring my own wine but I am of the opinion that it takes more than wine and good food to create the ambiance usually associated with a fine Italian dining experience.
The food was really good. My lasagna was cooked with gound beef AND Italian sausage. The sauce was very good and the portion was more than satisfying. My wife said that her baked stuffed shells were very good as well. I felt as though the lasagna was as good or better than that which I've had at Vinni's LaRoma or Fratelli's in Salisbury, but the atmosphere at Good Fella's is not nearly as warm and inviting as the other two. It took a little while to get our food but I wasn't surprised since it's all made fresh.
Now....the price. Our bill for both entrees including drinks was $19.00 and some change. The owner was very friendly and came out several times to see that we were well taken care of.
We will try their pizza this Friday. I've heard from several people that it's bangin'.
I will definitely go back from time to time, and we will probably order lunch and carryout quite a bit. I will, however, not opt to go there for a nice romantic dinner or to entertain out of town guests. I would have to say that we definitely needed Good Fella's in this area. I hope it's succesful.

Remember This Last Year?
I'll never forget turning the corner and seeing this Bud Truck pulled over in from of the Market Street Inn where he cut the corner tight and barely clipped a VERY dry rotted power pole. Needless to say, that puppy snapped and shattered and the poor driver was left explaining just how he could do such a thing?
This if for Totmom, "THOSE WERE THE DAYS." It was 37 years ago today "All In The Family" came to the television screens everywhere. If you haven't seen her Post, go visit it HERE.
One Year Ago Today
The business may still say Jimmy's Grille but it's now run and managed by someone else. Ever since they got Jimmy the hell out of there, all of a sudden the trash cans were no longer overflowing and things straightened out around there. I also heard Jimmy lost his deal over at the Airport Restaurant.
A Message From The Retired Director Of Wicomico County Library
Well, I certainly tried to put small libraries in the towns out side of Salisbury during my 18 years at the helm of the library downtown. In fact, I was told by the County Council President, my good friend Vic Laws, back when I first took over the library and we began building the extensions on the old Armory, that THIS new building was to be THE library for Wicomico's people for the next 50 years. So, I had to back off my thinking and concentrate on a new bookmobile to serve the outlying area's better. And we did.
So, I am not so keen about a new library building downtown as seems to be the thinking now. I agree yet, with the thought that we best try to serve the outlying towns people better and a new downtown library can wait. Besides that current 50,000 square foot building is quite energy efficient, with its solar panels carrying 70 to 75 % of the heating needs in winter, and offering plenty of Internet access there and lots of other materials, including the Maryland Room collection. I think if anything, perhaps enlarging the building through some renovations/additions would be best right now.
It houses the Regional Library as well. Why not move it or close it (since I believe it no longer serves a needed purpose, which was originally to help the other shore counties with materials and tech assistance for their small libraries, which can now stand on their own and are now bigger). If you move or close the Regional Library, it will free up quite a bit of space for other uses by the library.
Sorry Tom, but that's how I feel about this proposal, but in your favor I do support such a vision of a new library, but not for right now or the immediate future.

Fellow Blogger David K. Kyle Agrees About Blognetnews
"Some of us have known the system was flawed for a long time now, and was being manipulated with crossposts. When Blognetnews initiated the system they did not realize its vulnerabilities as they figured a link to another blog was someone showing to their readers something they found to be interesting or of note. Linking the same exact post on two sites is hardly pointing out a good post worthy of reading. Of course some of my posts are worth reading twice but I am content to let them be read from the same site. Anyway the head of BNN told me months ago they were working on a fix. While I am surprised at the time it took I knew it was coming. I don't know why you take what happened out on BNN, it is not their fault from what I know of the whole issue.
In reality while BNN calls these blogs the most influential, it has nothing to do with influence. A blog can only be influential if people are willing to listen and heed advice given. Most certainly while touted as a statewide influence most of these blogs don't even come close, but are focused on what happens in their locality. As local news from Salisbury is of no interest to me, or Anne Arundel County politics to you is there really any influence if I read a post on your blog?
Regardless of all that, we shall see if the system is fixed once and for all, because I know how frustrating it is when you work hard at something only to be gamed out of credit."
AMEN!
However, I'll add, Blognetnews uses ALL Bloggers to sell space with advertising and they do what to earn their money?
I firmly agree that many of us work VERY hard and put in countless hours running around to meetings and actually participate in getting the information and we're usualy not paid a dime for such.
Red Maryland, AKA, Maryland Politics, AKA Brian Griffiths and Mikel Schwartz are playing this to the hilt and they can deny it all they want, MOST people cannot stand Brian Griffiths. Now don't get in a tizzy over that statement Brian because there are just as many that can't stand me either. However, YOU do NOT see ME begging YOU to put a link to ME on YOUR Site. Never have, never will. However, Brian had been begging for months to get a link on my Site and I refused to do so and once again, I was right.
There was another flaw Blognetnews had that they recently changed. You used to be able to go on there and vote as many times as you wanted on a Blog. They did fix that but do tell me, what does Blognetnews do for Veteran Bloggers? Then there was the Anti Albero Bloggers who would go on there and give me a VERY poor rating in the hopes of making sure I was not in the top 10 every week. They too could vote over and over again.
It seems once a Blog becomes established, the only thing Blognetnews does for them is, well, NOTHING! By then, most people have saved that Blog as a favorite and they don't need Blognetnews to help promote them. It seems to be a great place for Bloggers just starting out.
Here's the main screw up of Blognetnews though. Do you realize that once you put an article up there and someone clicks on it, you do NOT get credit on your own Blog for hits? Blognetnews retains those Hits. When you're selling Ad Space, this screws you up because the more hits you get, the more valuable the Blog becomes. While many others wonder why I enjoy the hits I do, I know when and if I ever do something with Advertising and or perhaps sell my Blog, mine is worth far more than anyone else's. It's NOT about the glory of hits. Hell, I was the #1 lighting company in the World for years. Who cares! What really made my success was the FACT that I made more money than ANY lighting company in the World!
When I get into something and I give it my all, my goal is to make it the very best. Blognetnews is slowing me down, period. So was it really a reward to be #2 in the State this week? Or was it simply because GA & I cross posted? The answer is, WE did NOT earn it and I'll tell you why. GA wasn't even on the chart two weeks ago. You don't go from being #20+ to being #3 without any help. So NO, they didn't fix a thing.
Goodfella's Opens In Pittsville
Goodfella's has finally opened their doors in Pittsville, adding a third restaurant for people to choose from in the small community.
I just learned of their opening this morning and I'll be the first to admit, I'm dying to try them out as there are very few good Italian Restaurants anywhere on the Eastern Shore.
Oh, some of you THINK their might be but trust me, there's NOT! The closest ANYONE comes to a New York Style Pizza is New York Pizzeria near Fruitland. MMMMMMM! That's some Good Stuff! Delmar Pizza also makes a good pizza but the "Best Deal" on a pizza is actually Sam's Club. You can get an extra large pizza fully loaded with everything for just over $8.00. Now, is it a good pizza? Nah, but it doesn't suck and it has NO GREASE!
Anyhow, I went to an Italian Restaurant in Rockville last night, IT SUCKED! Momma Lucia's, PLEASE! It should have said, we'll serve you fast, get you in and out faster than your wait for the food and stand over your table making you uncomfortable in order to get you out of there. The food came right out of a can and we probably spent close to $500.00 on dinner and if my Brother ever says he wants to go back, he's on his own.
So I'll make the trip to Pittsville as soon as possible in the HOPES someone got it right. How about you? Do YOU think there's a good Italian Restaurant in the area?
The Daily Times Just Can't Say BLOGS!
Poll
Where do you prefer to get information to help you decide which candidate gets your vote?
I watch TV ads and listen to candidate debates.
I look at each candidate's record, experience and campaign statements to figure it out for myself.
I read news stories online, in magazines and in newspapers, and watch TV news shows.
I rely on the material each candidate mails to my house to help me decide.
OK, so they said, on line. Come on now. Everyone knows that BLOGS have been a HUGE way to get the word out during elections and the Newspapers can't even keep up with them any more. So I ask you, is this Poll actually fair?
IMO, it is and it isn't. It is because they conveniently mention On Line, just like they say Joe Albero or Weblog in articles about me personally but they refuse to say Salisbury News and or sbynews.com. They're slick and they spend most of their time figuring out just how they can stay away from ever using the word Blog.

The Daily Times Approves The New Library Concept?
Be careful what you wish for in the City of Salisbury. You see, when Barrie and her Flying Monkeys get something in their head and they sense an approval rating higher than normal, they jump on it.
A new Library and Town Center is a bullsh!t idea and the Mayor is putting out feelers on just what they can run on come election time. A new Fire Station was a $14,000,000.00 idea originally. Then once they felt the general population might actually consider it, they came back with a cost of $10,000,000.00 and all of a sudden these spend hungry fools jumped on board and made it a reality before anyone could stop them.
The MAYOR should NOT be in the retail business and or slumblord business. Creating a "Town Center" will once again put the Developers in the drivers seat and making huge profits at taxpayers expense. If that's not the case and they want to go into denial on that, well, let's go back to the TIF at the Old Mall then.
I also believe it shouldn't be The Daily Times business to brainwash the Eastern Shore into believing things just because a major hitter says it's a good idea. Remember Ladies & Gentlemen, they are good WRITERS! If they were such good business people, they wouldn't be taking home SH!T paychecks. They're the wanna be's of the business world who don't know jack sh!t. It's just as bad as some Doctor giving you financial advice. They're the biggest losers in the Country when it comes to investors, yet when they speak everyone is supposed to listen? Not me! You're on the same playing field unless we're talking medicine.
So be careful what you wish for. Salisbury is NOT Rockville, so unless you want to be taxed like them, cut the bullsh!t because wants and needs are two different things. Just look at the Zoo. Have you actually taken the time to take a quick stroll down there to see what it looks like and how Jim Rapp left it? Yeah, I thought not, but so many of you who were there 10 years ago want to get on here and say what a Gem it it. Not much different from the Library. The Library is just fine where it is and what it offers.
I'll close with this. IF the Daily Times actually knew what they were talking about, PLEASE direct me to ALL of the articles of the multiple people who had complained about what the Library has to offer????????? I win, The Daily Times Loses, period!
GO HERE if you want to read the actual article.

Are they listening, or are they giving GA & I the same credit Red Maryland and Mikel Schwartz, (LOL) have been playing with? The fact that Mike is now all the way down to #16 means someone is listening to something because that's where he belongs right now.
So ALL of you know. It was not my/our intent to cross post. GA was not in the blogging arena for quite some time and I offered to have him come on board here so he could relax more and simply post whenever he wanted to. The idea was a good one and I'm glad everyone is enjoying it.
Nevertheless, the rating system is flawed and we just proved it this week having GA, (Delmarva Dealings) and I #2 & #3. What say you now Mikel?

The Limo Driver
Hillary Clinton and her driver were cruising along a country road one evening when an ancient cow loomed in front of the car. The driver tried to avoid it but couldn't. The aged bovine was struck and killed!
Hillary told her driver to go up to the farmhouse and explain to the owners what had happened. She stayed in the car making phone calls to lobbyists.
About an hour later the driver staggered back to the car with his clothes in disarray. He was holding a half-empty bottle of expensive wine in one hand, a rare, huge Cuban cigar in the other, and was smiling happily, smeared with lipstick.
"What happened to you," asked Hillary? "Well," the driver replied, "the farmer gave me the cigar, his wife gave me the wine, and their beautiful twin daughters made passionate love to me!"
"My God, what did you tell them?" asked Hillary.
The driver replied, "I just stepped inside the door and said, I'm Hillary Clinton's driver and I've just killed the old cow. The rest happened so fast I couldn't stop it."
