A Letter To The Editor
The rental industry here generates, just through residential rents, something far north of the amazing figure of $57,000,000 annually. And that's just using the following rough formula:
8000 (overall housing units in Salisbury, rental and homeowner occupied) x .75 (percentage that are rentals) x 12 months x $800 (a low estimate per rental unit – low because of the high rents by the head or room to students and others, which may push a single rental to over $1600 per month. However, many rentals are unoccupied in summer months). Some have estimated that these properties generate as much as $85,000,000 per year gross, much of it in cash payments, and much of it that leaves the area to absentee landlords.
With those sort of numbers, why is it that SAPOA, instead of coming up with and having ready to execute a single plan that could reduce the efforts of the city, reduce the crime and lower the burden to the city's taxpayers, consistently ask for more concessions from the city and the neighborhoods. To this point, all concessions made between SAPOA and the city (and neighborhoods) have been concessions TO SAPOA, not the other way 'round. Efforts of earnest improvement by SAPOA as a whole have so far been either non-existent or so insignificant as to not even put the evidence or even promise of change in the public eye.
To my mind, SAPOA's latest ploy of begging for conflict resolution is nothing more than that: a method to put them in an underdog position with the city and in the public's mind. Nothing could be farther from the truth. With a mayor who, unlike his predecessor, puts full effort into enforcing the laws (the same laws that SAPOA and its council adherents watered down to a near-impotent state), and who sees the crime rates and neighborhood degradations as evolving hand in hand with the expansion of SAPOA and non-SAPOA ownership and lack of good stewardship, SAPOA feels threatened, and with those feelings, responds in a characteristic way, baiting and pointing a finger.
With the possibility of a sweeping change to the composition of the city council in spring 2011, SAPOA feels a pinch. They know that with a council majority that supports close rental regulation and inspection, they will not have the full leeway that they enjoyed with the likes of the Tilghman administration and the council that they purchased (Dunn, Cathcart, Comegys, Shields, and, to a lesser degree, Smith.) It can be assured that SAPOA will pull out all the stops in the next election, and will present candidates that will be forever in their corner.
SAPOA has only one thing in mind: protecting the interests of SAPOA. It's what it does; it's in its nature, bringing to mind the old story of the scorpion and the frog.
The new statement at the organization's website calls members to become involved so that it can work with government to “improve our community without over-regulating our industry.” This nearly in the same breath as “...there have been many obstacles to overcome (i.e., proposals for landlord licensing, increases in property taxes, proposed regulations to address lead paint laws, etc.) and there's no way to know what we'll be faced with in the future.” SAPOA has had its cake, and has been feeding off it for a long time at the expense of taxpayers and those who want cohesive neighborhoods and safe streets. It has created pockets of living areas that are little more than poverty magnets, dragging down areas adjacent to them (and the city as a whole) with physical decay, an overabundance of major and minor crime of all description and a look that says one thing to most of those who come to their borders: don't go in there - it's not safe.
I believe that with the tools that Mayor Ireton has available to him, many of them rusty, some of them dulled by SAPOA's grip on city legislature, he's doing an admirable job with trying to preserve and grow our neighborhoods, lower our crime rates and make the interior of Salisbury much more than it has been in decades.
So, SAPOA, what's it going to be? Present a workable plan you can present to the public to effectively and efficiently police rental properties and immediately and with the intent of law and purpose of government hold their owners to the light; to, with your brain trust and huge capital resources, actually improve Salisbury's residential neighborhoods, or whine like you are now until the next election (and perhaps beyond) that you can't get government to listen to you?
(By the way, I firmly believe that Shanie Shields should recuse herself from any further votes or opinions dealing with rental properties because of her relationship with her landlord, Mr. St. Fleur, whose properties are on the NSCC inspection refusal list, who has donated maximum amounts to select local candidates, and who , it appears, accepted zoning and other favors in return for those donations.)
Dog Left In Car: NOT REAL

Folks, IF this is true, I am so sorry. Jonathan Taylor and his friends CJ, TM, JR and others will do ANYTHING to discredit me or Salisbury News. ANYONE so screwed up in the head to play this kind of game should be locked up. This is not funny. I hope when your Wives come home they give you a boat load of crap. The original e-mail came in from phanson21801@yahoo.com. You may want to tell them what you think of their little game.
Joe
I am extremely mad right now!!! I just caught somebody leaving their poor, defenseless dog inside a car with the windows completely up while they went into get groceries at the Giant on S. Salisbury Blvd. I was so damn mad that I almost broke the windows to take this poor dog away from their senseless owner.
I immediately called 911 and waited and waited for the Salisbury PD to arrive. Nobody ever showed up. After about 30 minutes, the owner came back out and I told them exactly what I thought and that I had their tags and would make them very famous real soon. The guy, a punk kid about 19 years old, had the nerve to say "Bring it."
Well, buster, I'm bringing it, and I'm mad at not only him for being a poor excuse of a dog owner but the PD for not even bothering to show up. I've attached picture so you can post his tag number so we can expose these creeps every time they do something so stupid.

BP's Hayward Is Relieved Of Managerial Duties
A day after he was grilled by Congress, BP chief executive Tony Hayward is being demoted. According to Britain's Sky News, BP Managing Director Bob Dudley will take over day-to-day oversight of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill while BP's chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg (he of the "small people" comment) will assume major PR duties. (Yes, you read that right — the BP executive who famously expressed his compassion for "the small people" will be tasked with enhancing the company's public image.)
The main reason for the shift is plain enough for anyone who's been following the spill: BP executives acknowledge that as the company's face during the crisis, Hayward has blown it. Svanberg, while defending the BP CEO, acknowledged that Hayward's comments have not been helpful to the company's efforts to control fallout from the disaster.
"It is clear Tony has made remarks that have upset people," Svanberg tells Sky News. "This has now turned into a reputation matter, financial and political, and that is why you will now see more of me."
Let Me Make Something Very Clear To Every One Visiting Salisbury News
The images above are comments that have come in today alone. This is from my delete box.
I received a phone call not long ago telling me someone out there is claiming that I'm writing my own comments anonymously. I think it's only fair I provide evidence to each and every one of you that this is absolutely not the case.
I'll add, if you don't realize by now just how busy I am from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM and think I'd have the spare time to sit here and write my own comments anonymously, well, I'd personally say you're nuts if you believe I actually have the time.
While I realize this is not the type of Post 99% of you want to see, I'd rather prove to every one that what I'm being challenged with is completely false. Blogger doesn't send out an e-mail to me personally on ANY comment I make. It bypasses the e-mail all together and only does so if YOU write the comment. Those people challenging me know this to be a fact. Oh, unless I'm not logged in, like I have the time to log in and out in between moderating comments, making Posts, dealing with my Grandson, (who is now out of school for the summer) going out and taking pictures, you get my drift.
While I again don't expect all of you to understand what I'm saying here, the ones I DO want to understand will look at these comments and sh!t a brick. They don't get this kind of volume of comments in an entire month, let alone a few hours in one morning.
By the way. Yes, I do have to read each and every one of them, accept them or delete them, one by one. Please don't ask me to post an entire day's worth because there wouldn't be any other posts up for the day, that's how many images it would take.
I thank you for allowing me to put up this Post and clear the air. I will delete it in time, when I feel comfortable those to whom it is intended for will see it.
I do NOT have the time to write my own anonymous comments and one thing I have ALWAYS taken pride in is that I ONLY put up comments in my own name. Oh, one last thing. Blogger does not have a new system for comments. There is still a problem, (look at ANY Blog out there) with comments no matter where you go.
Nice try Boys.

Republicans On The Eastern Shore Supporting Kratovil?
This property happens to be owned by a republican I know. Andy Harris has had opportunity time and time again to meet with this person and sell him on his beliefs for the 1st District but clearly they weren't convinced.
What makes this even more interesting TO ME is that Andy has been a big name for the past 5 years on the shore, yet some republicans are still not convinced he's the man.
The 1st District Race is going to be just as interesting this time as it was the last time.

Delmarva Power, YOU'VE BEEN BLOGGED!
This morning while driving down Rt. 54 with my Grandson in the car, this Delmarva Power vehicle decided to pull out in front of us while we were following other vehicles. This guy came from Providence Church Rd, turned left onto Rt. 54 and there were no cars behind me. Not only did I have to avoid hitting the telephone poles on the trailer behind him, if there was anyone heading east bound on Rt. 54, (as I was forced to go into the oncoming lane) we would have been dead.
Come on people, have some respect for other drivers and slow down. It's Friday!
Obama's Endless Summer Of Spending
Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. was enthusiastic, declaring the stimulus "an absolute success" on Wednesday. Before he and the president begin their victory lap, however, they should take a closer look at the numbers. The current recovery has been one of the worst for job creation on record. Private sector hiring has virtually ground to a halt, and the administration was embarrassed last month when it was reported that 90 percent of the jobs created in May turned out to be short-term Census Bureau hires - and even those numbers appear to be exaggerated.
The job losses for this recession have been far deeper in percentage terms than in any of the 11 recessions since the Second World War. Underemployment, home foreclosures, bankruptcy filings and the number of Americans on food stamps have all increased since the stimulus act was passed. If this is "absolute success" we would hate to see what the vice president would call failure.
The administration's "jobs" are an expensive form of workfare. Mr. Biden toured a $508 million Brooklyn Bridge makeover project on Wednesday where taxpayers contributed at least $30 million to save or create 150 jobs. That is $200,000 per job just from the stimulus money, not including other federal, state and local funding. On Monday Mr. Biden will tour a project in Midland, Mich., which will "stimulate" 1,000 jobs at a cost of $161,000 per job. Jared Bernstein, chief economist and senior economic adviser to the vice president, said last year that the overall average cost per stimulus job is closer to $92,000, which is still good work if you can get it.
The stimulus approach to economic recovery is not complicated. It is based on the belief that expensive make-work jobs funded by deficit spending will at some point lead to economic benefits beyond the fortunate few receiving the grants. It involves opening the spending spigots and then finding enough shovel-ready projects to spend the money on. It's a wonderful plan for those whose aspirations in life go no further than short-term employment involving shovels.

Personal Safety Seminar For Women Is Now Full
Senior Corporal Jeff Whitmarsh says, “We organized this class with the hope of presenting the attendees with a variety of valuable personal safety information. The response was overwhelming. Mothers are coming with daughters, friends with friends and co-workers in groups. This is a real testament to the resolve of the women living and working in our communities who have decided to make safety a priority in their own lives. We are really looking forward to this class.”
The preparation of this event is the primary focus of the organizers at this point and another class has not yet been considered.
Clinton Comment On Immigration Law Riles Arizona Governor
In a June 8 media interview in Ecuador that began circulating Thursday in the U.S., Clinton said President Barack Obama thinks the federal government should determine immigration policy and that the Justice Department "will be bringing a lawsuit against the act."
Justice spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler on Thursday declined to say whether the department would sue and that "the department continues to review the law."
The department has been looking at the law for weeks for possible civil rights violations, with an eye toward a possible court challenge.
It's unclear why Clinton made the comment since it's not her area. She couldn't be reached Thursday for comment.
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Obama and Clinton have both made it clear that the administration opposes the law.
"I will defer to the Justice Department on the legal steps that are available and where they stand on the review of the law," Crowley said. "The secretary believes that comprehensive immigration reform is a better course of action."
Brewer, a Republican, said in a statement that "this is no way to treat the people of Arizona."
"To learn of this lawsuit through an Ecuadorean interview with the secretary of state is just outrageous," she said. "If our own government intends to sue our state to prevent illegal immigration enforcement, the least it can do is inform us before it informs the citizens of another nation."
Tea Party Movement Also About Traditional Morality, Congressman Says
Journalist and author Jonah Goldberg said the movement should avoid cultural issues such as abortion if it is to have continued success.
A conservative congressman, however, disagreed.
Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), the chairman of the House Republican Conference, said people are also drawn to the Tea Party movement because it embraces traditional American morality, including the sanctity of life and the traditional definition of marriage as the union of a man and a woman.
“One last thought to leave you with,” Pence said in his concluding remarks: “This is something I’ve said around the country at many Tea Party gatherings and grassroots gatherings. And it needs to be said, and that is, that what’s animating this authentic American movement is that our present crisis is not just economic and fiscal. It’s moral in nature.
“At the root of these times, I believe there are millions of Americans who see, in Washington, D.C., and on Wall Street, people in positions of authority walking away from the timeless principles of honesty, integrity, an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay,” Pence said.
“I’ve talked to people in this movement that our leaders need to recognize that public policy alone will not cure what ails this country,” Pence said. “It’s going to take public virtue and a return to the institutions that nourish the character of the nation and reaffirm our commitment to the sanctity of life, the sanctity of traditional marriage, and to the importance of religion in every day life is also quietly central to this movement around the country.”

Fact Check! Arizona Still in American Hands – For Now
On the June 15 show, "America Live" guest host Shannon Bream said, "A massive stretch of Arizona now off limits to Americans. Critics say the administration is, in effect, giving a major strip of the Southwest back to Mexico. U.S. Fish and Wildlife have closed a portion of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge all along the border, warning visitors to beware of heavily armed drug smugglers and traffickers."
Then Bream introduces Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, saying, "Sheriff, this is a family show, so I'm going to put it like this: What the heck is going on down there?"
Babeu explains, "It's literally out of control, and violence has increased just in the last four months. All of our police chiefs and Pinal County , we stood with Sen. McCain and literally demanded support for 3,000 soldiers to be deployed to Arizona to get this under control and finally secure our border with Mexico."
However, U.S. Fish and Wildlife spokesman Jose Viramontes told WND that the Obama administration did not close that section of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge on the border. That closure happened during the George W. Bush administration in 2006 and only involved a strip of land along the border that extended about 1 mile into Arizona.
"In 2006, we closed 3,500 acres to public access on Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge due to public safety concerns," he said. "At that time, there was an escalation of violence, and we also had contractors down there who were working on building vehicle barriers and pedestrian fencing in compliance with the Secure Fence Act."
Viramontes said in 2006 "there was a high volume of drug trafficking and human trafficking going on right there at the border, right before a lot of the border security enforcement measures were put in place."
He added, "Since that point, we have not closed any further lands, nor have we reopened that section of land. We still don't feel that it's safe enough at this point, though violence has been decreasing – in large part due to our coordination with Border Patrol to improve access and to provide access to build a pedestrian barrier and vehicle barriers. Violence is on the decline, but not to the point that we've reopened the area yet."
"One of our sister agencies, the Bureau of Land Management, recently erected signs in Pinal County that warn visitors on their public lands just to be aware that things may be out in the desert," he said. "Most of the signs you see on the news programs are that sign. That recently happened within the past week or two."
WND called the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management to inquire about the recently posted signs.
Dennis Godfrey, spokesman for the BLM in Arizona, explained, "We have posted some advisory signs, but we have not closed any areas."
He said, "The signs went up with the recommendation of our law enforcement personnel because of increased illegal activity in portions of the Sonoran Desert National Monument, which is a very large area. It's actually divided by Interstate 8 that runs through there. It's the southern portion of that where we've put up signs advising people of the danger and recommending that they use public land north of the interstate."
Contrary to the report, the BLM signs do not state, "Don't go past this point." and "This is not safe." Rather than "Stay away," as Bream claimed, one portion of a sign reads: "Stay away from trash, clothing, backpacks, and abandoned vehicles."
Godfrey said he's been in contact with Fox News and hopes the organization will correct its report. WND's messages left with "America Live" and the Fox Nation were not returned at the time of this report.

One Year Ago Today
To have a successful business or prove you are a successful leader, you have to deliver. I struggle, (as well as others) understanding just what Urban Salisbury has done for all the money the taxpayers deliver every year to this organization.
Yesterday I asked in a Post for someone, anyone, please tell me just what it is that County Executive Rick Pollitt has done for Wicomico County over the past four years. Do you know how many responses I got to that question, NONE!
I have asked in the past, what has Urban Salisbury done, (for the money) for Salisbury. Again, there's been no response. That being said, just what will it take for our leaders, (but more importantly the taxpayers) to open their eyes and see good money going after bad money.
If you hire a guy to mow your entire lawn for $50.00 and he only cuts two strips, comes to your front door and says, I'll take that money now. What would you say Folks? The lawn is the goal. The Mayor should be demanding Urban Salisbury be accountable by delivering a goal. If they do nothing to come even close to mowing the lawn, they should be fired, period. The same goes for your County Executive, city and county council members and so forth and so on.
Take back your City & County Folks. Elections are just around the corner. Encourage those who are on the fence to step up and run for public office. Find someone strong enough to stand up to these organizations and say, deliver or we're done with you.
DEAR MR. O -- WICOMICO WANTS TO KNOW
Remember the theme of the old TV show “Car 54 - Where Are You”? After reciting a myriad of events in the Big Apple requiring services -- Khrushchev's due at Idlewild -- the announcer asks for the location of the police cruiser that has not reported in per protocol. The full theme appears below, at the end.
Is anyone else astounded by Joe Ollinger’s absence and silence on recent events in Wicomico County’s government – most recently the big budget brouhaha – that will have great importance for all County residents? Where does he stand, or does he have no view on those matters?
It seems that Mr. Ollinger is not to be seen or heard except to pontificate about such pie-in-the-sky as combining the City of Salisbury and Wicomico County as a “metropolitan government” and other things that will never happen. Because as the County Executive he would be involved in more mundane things like the budget and term insurance for County employees, etc., he should be front and center at public meetings, addressing such issues as whether there should be a public information officer at a cost of about $75,000 per year.
If John Cannon or any other competent person is considering whether to run against Rick Pollitt, let’s hope that they decide to do so. It looks like Ollinger can’t or won’t cut the mustard.

Chris Adams Pleas With Mayor Over SAPOA & Mediation
SAPOA is exhausting every ounce of energy it can to throw that knock out punch against Mayor Ireton. Unfortunately, (for them) Jim has proven to have a tough jaw and could come back like Fernando Guerrero and knock these guys out.
One thing I learned from Fernando at a special event where Fernando stated that his biggest mistake he's made in boxing was the time he recalled getting mad. All of a sudden he started fighting away from everything he had been trained and guess what Folks, he lost that fight as an amateur and he even says, I deserved to lose.
SAPOA has thrown every possible blow they could against the Mayor. They're out of wind, they have no more strength and right now they're hoping we, (the media) will do their battle for them.
In today's DT's they decided to give SAPOA a voice by offering front page news. I can't say as I blame them, (the DT's) it sells papers and that's what they're in the business to do. Remember that, Jim. Below are a couple of quotes I'd like to touch on.
"SAPOA has evolved through the years," she said. "We're becoming a much more civic-minded organization. We're trying to reach out in various ways to citizens as well as the city but the initiatives we come up with are initiatives we really need the mayor's help with."
Salisbury News has evolved over the years too SAPOA but that doesn't mean out of nowhere everyone is going to like me or agree with me. Now let's see, did Mayor Tilghman offer to go to Conflict & Resolution when I had issues with the her or the Zoo. DEAL WITH IT.
"But the Salisbury Police Department won't respond to our requests. If the mayor puts a gag order on city officials, which is what he's done, that means they can't work with various organizations in the city that may have resources for them."
Interesting! First of all, I spoke with Mayor Ireton on this exact matter yesterday and he flat out stated this was a bunch of bull. The Mayor has done no such thing but like I said earlier, it sells papers, so why not.
Aside from that, let's go ahead and discuss the Salisbury Police Department. First of all, Chief Ivan Barkley is too proud a man to allow the Mayor to tell him there's a gag order on an issue like this. Barkley isn't a puppet, like the former Police Chief.
You can stomp your feet, throw hissy fits, point fingers and get angry but until you prove you are what you say you've become, city taxpayers are fed up with your use of all these resources at your fingertips while not allowing inspections, being accountable and most importantly, compliant.
Like a boxer, you are exhausted from throwing everything you have. You now have 30 seconds in between rounds to rethink what you're doing and come out in the next round doing things by the rules. If you can't do that, well, you're going to lose this fight and probably never get the chance to fight again. It's up to you from here on out but in my personal opinion Mayor Ireton will win this fight because too many of you are spoiled brats who have forgotten where you came from.
At least Ireton knows, never get into a pissing match with a skunk.

Supreme Court Rejects Firing Squad Appeal
SALT LAKE CITY - Utah is set to execute a condemned killer by firing squad shortly after midnight Thursday, reviving an old West style of justice that hasn't been used for 14 years and that many criticize as archaic.
Barring the success of a final appeal, Ronnie Lee Gardner will be strapped into a chair, have a target pinned over his heart and die in a hail of bullets from five anonymous marksmen armed with .30-caliber rifles and firing from behind a ported wall.
A flurry of last-minute appeals and requests for stays were rejected Thursday by the U.S. Supreme Court, the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and Gov. Gary Herbert.

The 'Middle Wife'
I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second grade classroom a few years back.
When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually, show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that. And I never, ever place any boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug it in to school and talk about it, they're welcome.
Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater.
She holds up a snapshot of an infant. 'This is Luke, my baby brother, and I'm going to tell you about his birthday.'
'First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol of their love, and then Dad put a seed in my Mom's stomach, and Luke grew in there. He ate for nine months through an umbrella cord.'
She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not to laugh and wishing I had my camcorder with me. The kids are watching her in amazement.
'Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying and going, 'Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans. 'She walked around the house for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!' (Now this kid is doing a hysterical duck walk and groaning.)
'My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't have a sign on the car like the Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie down in bed like this.' (Then Erica lies down with her back against the wall.)
'And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept in there in case he got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, like psshhheew!' (This kid has her legs spread with her little hands miming water flowing away. It was too much!)
'Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe, breathe. They started counting, but never even got past ten. Then, all of a sudden, out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff that they all said it was from Mom's play-center, (placenta) so there must be a lot of toys inside there. When he got out, the middle wife spanked him for crawling up in there.'
Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat. I'm sure I applauded the loudest.. Ever since then, when it's show-and-tell day, I bring my camcorder, just in case another 'Middle Wife' comes along.
"Muslim Heritage" In America
AN AMERICAN CITIZEN'S RESPONSE:
Dear Mr. Obama:
Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.
Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.
Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?
Declaration of Independence ?
Bill of Rights?
Didn't think so.
Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England ? No.
Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America ? No, they did
not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human
slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it Mr. Obama?
Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.
There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.
Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights, aren't they?
Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.
Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East . No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely,
the very "moderate" Muslims who's asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo , Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.
And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America .
Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.
And now we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be
counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan .
That, Mr. Obama is the "Muslim heritage" in America
Obama Refocuses ICE From Illegals
“Officials hope to highlight the agency’s counterterrorism, money laundering and other complex criminal investigations and in the process ‘re-brand’ ICE, turning the public — and political — spotlight away from its immigration work,” the Washington Post reported on Thursday.
A major thrust of the reorganization, which includes streamlining and renaming several offices, is to change public perception of the agency. Many Americans believe ICE is devoted strictly to dealing with illegal immigrants, but “half of the agency is devoted to something else,” said ICE Assistant Secretary John Morton.

Campbell Soup Recalls SpaghettiOs
WASHINGTON - Campbell Soup Co. is recalling 15 million pounds of SpaghettiOs with meatballs after a cooker malfunctioned at one of the company's plants in Texas and left the meat undercooked.
The Agriculture Department announced the recall late Thursday. Campbell spokesman Anthony Sanzio said the company is recalling certain lots of the product manufactured since December 2008 "out of an abundance of caution" because officials don't know exactly when the cooker at the Paris, Texas, plant malfunctioned. Officials believe it happened recently but aren't sure, he said.
The meatballs that went through the cooker did not get the requisite amount of heat, according to the company.

"I'm Terrified Of Police"
Yates spoke out about the incident that sparked the lawsuit Thursday morning, with his lawyer, a local NAACP representative, and family members at his side.
"I shouldn't be terrified of the police," Yates said. "The police are the ones I should be able to turn to when I'm afraid of someone else. But I'm more afraid of them than [I am of] anyone else."

Italian Wedding Test
There was only one little thing bothering me....It was her beautiful younger sister.
My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight mini skirts, and generally was bra-less.
She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else.
One day her 'little' sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations.
She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome.
She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister.
Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word.
She said, 'I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.'
I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car.
Lord... And behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping!
With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, 'We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family.'
And the moral of this story is:
Always keep your condoms in your car.
Statement From Bob Ehrlich
“While more than 200,000 Marylanders are out of work, while our taxes rise and our incomes fall, Governor O’Malley has chosen to mislead you with falsehoods about my record in an effort to distract you from his.
“Martin O’Malley has placed an advertisement on the radio which is so clearly false and transparently dishonest that it debases the office we both seek. The ad shows not just a disregard for the truth, but a calculated intent to deceive the voters of Maryland; it is contemptible.
“To suggest that I somehow favored or caused the Gulf oil disaster and now call for more coastal drilling is untrue, and Martin O’Malley knows it. I am not a lobbyist and Martin O’Malley knows that too.
“What matters is more jobs, lower taxes and a strong economy for Marylanders. Governor O’Malley has already damaged our reputation as a place to do business; we should not allow him to do the same to our standards for honest political debate.
“The truth has to matter too. Honesty has to count for something. Has the O’Malley campaign no decency, and will they do anything to win?”
EDITOR'S NOTE: For what it's worth, he sent that press release to Salisbury News and we rejected it.
DELAWARE STATE POLICE RECEIVES APCO P33 TRAINING PROGRAM CERTIFICATION
June 17, 2010, Dover, Del. - The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International announced today that Delaware State Police’s Training Program is being recognized as having achieved certified compliance in meeting or exceeding the APCO Minimum Training Standards for Public Safety Telecommunicators (2006). The certification presentations will be made at the Distinguished Achievers Breakfast at the APCO International 76th Annual Conference and Exposition in Houston, Texas on August 3.
The APCO Project 33 Agency Training Program Certification is a formal mechanism for public safety agencies to certify their training programs as meeting the Minimum Training Standards for Public Safety Telecommunicators. The standard specifies the minimum training requirements, in general, of personnel assigned to the public safety telecommunicator function, but recognizes the need to supplement these basic competencies with agency-specific information and existing equipment-use parameters.
Delaware State Police’s training program has been in place since 2001 and was most recently updated this year. It involves lecture and self study and requires five to seven months of on-the-job training as well as recertification and continuing dispatch education.
The Delaware State Police Communications Section set a goal in 2009 to enhance its training program in order to ensure the best possible training is provided to newly hired Telecommunicators.
"In order to meet that goal, a committee was formed, the training program was modified and we immediately sought APCO's certification of the revised program" said Bill Carrow, Communications Section Chief.
"There is currently a push nationally to ensure 9-1-1 call-takers and Telecommunicators are trained to a minimum standard, and with APCO being an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards setting body, their Project 33 is the gold standard to attain" Carrow said.
The Delaware State Police Communications Section is the first training program in Delaware to achieve APCO's certification.
“For many years APCO International has established competent training standards, which effectively prepare trainees to better understand their role and responsibilities within both public safety and related public service occupations,” APCO International Executive Director George S. Rice, Jr. said. “We congratulate Delaware State Police for recognizing the need for certification in their center and for the hard work employed to achieve the standard.”
The APCO International 76th Annual Conference and Exposition will be held August 1-4 in Houston, Texas.
