A Texas city council ruled this week that a homeless man who found
$77,000 worth of gold collectible coins and $100 bills in a river could
keep his treasure.
Bastrop City Council voted 6-0 Tuesday night that the money Timothy
Yost found while washing his feet in the Colorado River Jan. 18 belonged
to him. The city has had possession of the money since that time.
“It was a considerable sum of money, and we anticipated it would draw
a fair amount of attention,” Bastrop Mayor Terry Orr said. “The city
could have kept the money, because no one came forward to claim it, but
we elected not to do that. It’s clearly Mr. Yost’s.”

Bristol Palin Sued by Bar Heckler
Last September, Bristol Palin was heckled at a West Hollywood bar and
restaurant by a man who called her mom, Sarah Palin, a “whore” and made
a crude reference about Bristol’s former relationship with the father
of her child, Levi Johnston. That heckler is now suing.
According to TMZ.com, Stephen Hanks’ lawsuit notes that Bristol suggested he is a homosexual during their exchange, which occurred while she was shooting a segment for her new Lifetime series, “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.” Hanks claims he’s been featured in ads for the show despite the fact that he never signed a waiver.
Hanks also states that Bristol falsely claimed to a magazine that the incident was the reason why she moved from Los Angeles back to her native Alaska. He argues that Palin bought a home in Alaska two months before the incident.

Berlin’s Zenna Wellness Center Celebrates Opening
“There was always a vision here,” said co-owner Chrissy Ehrhart-Knight of putting the studio on Main Street.
Ehrhart-Knight, Cate Carrick Nellans and Jesse Martin came up with the idea for a Zumba and yoga center long before they actually made any moves to set up in town.
“Chrissy and I started talking about the idea a year and a half ago,” said Nellans.
Once the pair decided to look for space in Berlin, they found that the process went faster than expected. According to Nellans, a lease for the 10 South Main Street location was signed just last March, while the studio doors opened officially last Friday. Prior to opening, Ehrhart-Knight revealed that the building had to be “totally gutted” and refitted to house high-energy Zumba classes.

Michael Brewer, who was nearly burned to death by his middle-school
classmates in 2009, took the stand Thursday against the teen accused of
planning the attack.
On the afternoon of Oct. 12, 2009, Bent and two other teens, all 15 at the time, confronted Brewer near an apartment complex in Deerfield Beach, Fla. One boy doused Brewer with rubbing alcohol they found in a container on the street, then another set him ablaze with a lighter.
"I felt like I was going to die," Brewer testified Thursday afternoon, NBC 6 Miami reported.

OCEAN CITY -- Hurricane season is here and after last year’s
near-miss with Hurricane Irene, Royal Plus President Matt Odachowski
presented local business owners and public officials with tips on how to

Odachowski drove this point home by highlighting some of the situations that his company’s “Disaster Kleenup” crews have confronted in the past during an event this week at the Ocean City Marlin Club.

Cost of Rearing a Child Rises to $234,000
Having kids is expensive, as if parents needed to be told that. But the
US government issued a report today quantifying just how expensive: For a
child born now, it will cost an average of $234,900 to raise them, and
that's just to age 18.
The total cost is up 3.5 percent from a year ago, according to the US Department of Agriculture report. Child care and education, transportation and food had the biggest cost jumps.

Dover – To tackle outdated, ineffective and redundant regulations while giving a boost to small business, Governor Jack Markell today signed an executive order that launches a statewide effort that brings citizens, businesses and state agencies together to identify and remove regulatory hurdles.
“Regulations, when properly used, can help meet shared goals. They can ensure the safety of the food we eat, the hospitals we visit, and the roads we drive. But regulations can become outdated and inconsistent. They don’t work the way they were intended to work. In short, they can become a problem, not part of a solution. This is a statewide effort to find those problems and remove them,” said Markell, who has visited over 750 businesses in Delaware since his swearing-in.
Before the Governor signed the Order, he heard from a bipartisan group of legislators and a number of small business owners representing the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
“This reinforces Delaware’s ranking among the best places in the country to do business,” said NFIB State Director Ellen Valentino. “Small businesses are deeply appreciative and we’re looking forward to working with the Governor’s administration to implement this order.”

Imagine living in a space that measures a mere 168 square feet, more
than 14 times smaller than the average American home. That’s the reality
for one family of four who, for the past year, has been living in their
“Tiny House” tucked away in the rural mountains of Virginia. It’s
here, they say, that they’ve truly learned how less can be so much more.
In fact, in just one year the family has managed to save about $3,000 a
month by downsizing in more ways than one.

Hari and Karl decided to take matters into their own hands, literally, by building their new tiny house with just $13,000 in materials found on Craigslist. The Tiny House is temporary. The end goal, they say, is to save enough to one day build a bigger home, one that’s 100% mortgage-free. And with the amount they’ve saved so far, they’re right on schedule to do so.

Berlin Starts Ambassador Program

Time To Get Out Of The Middle East
It takes a lot of time and effort to try to understand American counter-terrorism policy today.
Personally, I think the status quo is like trying to treat a cocaine overdose with methamphetamine. It’s like trying to cure chlamydia by having sex with multiple random strangers in a park. It’s like trying to cure a broken nose by punching oneself in the face.
Or, as Glenn Greenwald puts it:
I absolutely believe that another 9/11 is possible. And the reason I believe it’s so possible is that people like Andrew Sullivan — and George Packer — have spent the last decade publicly cheering for American violence brought to the Muslim world, and they continue to do so (now more than ever under Obama). Far from believing that another 9/11 can’t happen, I’m amazed that it hasn’t already, and am quite confident that at some point it will. How could any rational person expect their government to spend a full decade (and counting) invading, droning, cluster-bombing, occupying, detaining without charges, and indiscriminately shooting huge numbers of innocent children, women and men in multiple countries and not have its victims and their compatriots be increasingly eager to return the violence?
Isn’t it painfully obvious? The interventionist policies — occupation, drone strikes, cluster-bombing, indefinitely detention, false vaccination programs and so forth — in the middle east advocated by both “liberal” and “conservative” hawks that are supposed to prevent terrorism are creating anger, creating enemies, and creating terrorists. I too am amazed another 9/11 hasn’t happened. I despise jihadism and Islamism. It is contrary to everything I stand for. That’s exactly why I oppose a foreign policy that serves as a hugely effective recruiting tool for the totalitarian jihadists.
Yemeni lawyer Haykal Bafana explained the rationale last month:
Dear Obama, when a U.S. drone missile kills a child in Yemen, the father will go to war with you, guaranteed. Nothing to do with Al Qaeda.
Or as convicted terrorist Faisal Shahzad put it:

Or as former CIA counter-terrorism expert Michael Scheuer noted:
The idea that has been pushed by President Clinton and President Bush and Mr. Cheney and Barack Obama and Senator McCain, that America is being attacked [for its freedom] is a disservice to the population of the United States. This war is not against Americans because we’re Americans, it’s motivated by the activities of our government and its allies in the Muslim world.
So why do we keep doing this? Two reasons: hubris and greed.

Unemployment As A Lifestyle
All one hears is that the lack of jobs is the number one economic problem. Well documented are endless examples of systemic destruction in employment opportunities. The negative consequences of off shoring corporate jobs are undeniable. Up until now, the little attention placed on the psychological mindsets that build the structural impediments for a healthy main street economy, keep a serious discussion on jobs, just going in circles.
The official attitude that government social agencies exist to mitigate economic distress is a staple ever since the New Deal era. Much of the state of mind that created the welfare society emerged from the "do gooders" in New York State. The result from decades of socialization and educational indoctrination left us with the entitlement culture. One illustration supports the contention.

What they witnessed instead was the Union Army fleeing back to Washington with its tail between its legs. The flight of the northern troops promoted some southern wags to name the battle, the Battle of Yankee Run.
The outcome of the battle, left the South infected with the hubris that had so abruptly departed the North. The southerners concluded that they had nothing to fear from cowards who ran away from a fight. “We have nothing to worry about from them,” decided the South. It was precisely at this point that hubris defeated the South.
Historians report that the flight back to Washington left the Union Army and the US capital in a state of disorganization for three weeks, during which time even a small army could have taken the capital. Historians inclined not to see the battle as a victory for the South claim that the southerners were exhausted by the effort it took to put the yankees to flight and simply hadn’t the energy to pursue them, take Washington, hang the traitor Lincoln and all the Republicans, and end the war.

Van Jones Group Uses NAACP Style Racism Ad Tactic Against ALEC
Color of Change, a left wing attack group founded by former White House Green Jobs Czar Van Jones, is on a mission to smearthe American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). ALEC
is a 30 year-old non-partisan membership association for “conservative
state lawmakers who shared a common belief in limited government, free
markets, federalism, and individual liberty.” As a result of the
organization’s successful assistance to lawmakers in state legislatures
it has made them the target of liberal smear campaigns.
Left wing groups are attacking ALEC by intimidating ALEC’s corporate donors who have benefited from the conservative organization’s work over the years. Milford, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Milford man for drug possession after he was stopped for speeding.
Troopers on assignment for the Office of Highway Safety, Federal Aggressive Driving Campaign, were patrolling the area of SR1 and Truitt Road yesterday evening, when a motorcycle was observed on radar traveling above the posted speed limit. Troopers were able to stop the Kawasaki motorcycle in the area of SR1 northbound at Argos Corner Road and make contact with the operator, William S. Robbins, 36, of Milford. Robbins, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and could not provide any identification, was taken into custody. A back pack that Robbins was in possession of contained over 2.7 grams of Heroin, 8 Clonazepam pills, 5.5 Diazepam pills, 64 syringes, and other drug paraphernalia. A computer inquiry into Robbins license yielded a capias out of Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
Robbins was transported back to Troop 7 where he was arrested on the above listed charges. He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,750.00 secured bond.
Drone That Crashed This week In Dorchester County Cost $45.9 Million
The cost factor was underscored this week, after one of the Navy's unmanned aircraft crashed in Maryland. The aircraft was one of five Global Hawk drones acquired from the Air Force for surveillance testing; according to the Navy, the military paid $45.9 million for the crashed drone, although Pentagon budget documents put its average unit cost much higher.

US Jobless Claims Rise to 386K
The Labor Department said Thursday that weekly unemployment benefit applications rose 6,000 to a seasonally adjusted 386,000, an increase from an upwardly revised 380,000 the previous week.
The four-week average, a less volatile measure, rose for the third straight week to 382,000. That's the highest in six weeks.
Weekly applications are a measure of the pace of layoffs. When they drop below 375,000, it typically suggests hiring is strong enough to reduce the unemployment rate.

More Solyndra Corruption: Lied About Layoffs, Excessive Bonuses
When Solyndra, the $535 million boondoggle that the Obama Administration funded and championed, went bankrupt, the company stated that 1100 workers lost their jobs. That was a lie; the Labor Department now has revealed that 1861 workers were let go. That’s 70% higher than Solyndra claimed.
In addition, the Labor Department reports that Solyndra increased production in 2011 even though it didn’t come close to selling off its inventory of panels. The company had enough panels to power about 23,000 homes but still pressed ahead with their production. It’s unlikely that they would have proceeded in this manner if they had not been funded by the government.Solyndra was corrupt in other ways; senior executives collected multiple bonuses, some as high as $60,000, even though they were heading toward bankruptcy. More than a dozen senior executives received huge quarterly bonuses on April 15 and again on July 8 in 2011.

Mitt Romney in the coming fall presidential campaign.
So, who has violated the Constitution and federal law, who has caused more harm and who has performed more of a disservice to the nation: those who leaked the truth to the media, or the president, who caused death and destruction among those he hates and fears?

The Fast and Furious scandal, the presidential leak scandal, the almost complete ignoring of the Catholic Church’s battle with the administration, the proof that President Obama was a dues-paying member of the socialist New Party, the ongoing coverup of Obama’s past — the list is long and getting longer every day.

Seaford, DE- The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and registration Unit (S.O.A.R) is currently looking for a Seaford sex offender after he failed to re-register his current address.
Investigators have obtained warrants on Roger W. Price, 50, who is a moderate risk Tier 2 sex offender, after they learned that he failed to re-register is home address within three days as he is required to do by law.
Roger Price is described as a white male, 6’00” tall and 210 lbs., brown hair and hazel eyes. Price may be operating a gray 1994 Toyota Camry with Delaware registration HP16483 and could possibly be in the Seaford or Dover area.
The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit is asking anyone who may know the location of Roger W. Price to call 9-1-1 or 302-739-5882. Suspect: Justin Suave, 21, Pittsville, MD
Narrative: On 12 June 2012 at 7:04 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a commercial business on North Salisbury Blvd for a report of a violation of a protective order. The deputy learned that Justin Suave, who had just been released after an earlier arrest for violation of a protective order, went to the place of employment of the subject who had gotten the protective order and asked him for a ride back to Pittsville, The Protective order also barred Suave from contacting the petitioner at his place of employment. The deputy also discovered that Suave had a copy of the order in his pocket with the conditions clearly detailed.
The deputy placed Suave under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Suave in the detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.

Narrative: On 12 June 2012 at 12:45 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported complaint of a violation of a Protective Order in the 7000 block of Maple Street in Pittsville. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Justin Suave had entered a residence through a window, after being barred from the residence on a Protective Order that had been issued and served back on 7
June 2012. Upon contact with Suave who was still inside upon the deputy’s arrival, Suave admitted he knew there was an active protective order barring him from the residence.
The deputy placed Suave under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Suave on Personal Recognizance.

Narrative: On 11 June 2012 at 9:32 PM a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance in the 600 block of S. Westover Dive. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that a very intoxicated Jeanette Odom-Fortt came to a residence in the 600 block of S. Westover Drive yelling loudly about a cell phone. Odom-Fortt refused all requests to leave and continued to cause a disturbance;
Witnesses stated that Odom-Fortt attempted to fight with several individuals in the vicinity.
The deputy arrested Odom-Fortt and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Odom-Fortt in the Detention Center in lieu of $3,000.00 bond.

Narrative: On 11 June 2012 at 6:50 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded for a report that the proprietor of a produce store on Ocean Gateway in Hebron was detaining Laurie Adkins on his property. Adkins had arrived at the produce stand demanding a refund for what she stated was bad corn and watermelon which was later discovered to have not been purchased there. The proprietor was getting ready to provide the refund when a proprietor of another nearby produce store arrived and denounced Adkins for just attempting the same act at his store which he had declined to refund. Upon meeting with the deputy Adkins admitted she was trying to scam the produce stands from cash.
While being detained by the one proprietor, Adkins assaulted him by hitting and scratching him.
The deputy placed Adkins under arrest and transported her to the Central booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Adkins in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.

Narrative: On 9 June 2012 at 10:34 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported stabbing in the 9000 block of Guy Ward Road in Pittsville. The deputy discovered that William Smith – Lake was at a party and tried to drive away while extremely intoxicated.
Another subject attempted to stop William when William became enraged, pulled out a knife and cut this other subject on the hand. Upon the arrival of the deputy, other party goers were holding William on the ground.
The deputy placed William under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained William in the Detention Center in lieu of $125,000.00 bond.

3. Female Juvenile, 17, Columbia, MD
Narrative: On 9 June 2012 at 4:44 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle being operated by Margaret Ann Frantz of Elkridge, MD at a speed in excess of 90 mph on U.S. Rt 50. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. The deputy temporarily walked away from the vehicle and turned around to observe the rear male passenger spraying an aerosol can inside the vehicle. The deputy began a search of the vehicle and recovered a “bong” type smoking device and two separate baggies of marijuana.
The deputy placed all three occupants, the driver Frantz and her two passengers, Sean Stewart and a 17 year old juvenile under arrest for possession of marijuana. Upon transport to the Central Booking Unit, Frantz and Stewart was both processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After their initial appearances, the Commissioner released both on Personal Recognizance.
The 17 year old juvenile was detained at the Sheriff’s Office pending an arrival of a parent from Columbia, MD. Charges will be filed with the Department of Juvenile Services for formal adjudication.

Narrative: On 9 June 2012 at 9:44 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle he recognized as previously being reported stolen. Instead of stopping the driver continued in an apparent attempt to flee before stopping the vehicle and continuing to flee on foot. The pursuing deputy gave chase and caught him after a brief foot pursuit. Upon apprehension, the driver was
identified as Thomas Wheatfall and was discovered to have marijuana in his possession.
Additionally, it was discovered that Wheatfall was operating the vehicle while his privilege to drive in Maryland was revoked.
The deputy transported Wheatfall to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of a District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Wheatfall in the Detention Center in lieu of $35,000.00 bond.

The deputy learned that Justin Suave, who had just been released after an earlier arrest for violation of a protective order, went to the place of employment of the subject who had gotten the protective order and asked him for a ride back to Pittsville, The Protective order also barred Suave from contacting the petitioner at his place of employment. The deputy also discovered that Suave had a copy of the order in his pocket with the conditions clearly detailed.
The deputy placed Suave under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Suave in the detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.

Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Justin Suave had entered a residence through a window, after being barred from the residence on a Protective Order that had been issued and served back on 7
June 2012. Upon contact with Suave who was still inside upon the deputy’s arrival, Suave admitted he knew there was an active protective order barring him from the residence.
The deputy placed Suave under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Suave on Personal Recognizance.

Upon arrival, the deputy learned that a very intoxicated Jeanette Odom-Fortt came to a residence in the 600 block of S. Westover Drive yelling loudly about a cell phone. Odom-Fortt refused all requests to leave and continued to cause a disturbance;
Witnesses stated that Odom-Fortt attempted to fight with several individuals in the vicinity.
The deputy arrested Odom-Fortt and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Odom-Fortt in the Detention Center in lieu of $3,000.00 bond.

Narrative: On 11 June 2012 at 6:50 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded for a report that the proprietor of a produce store on Ocean Gateway in Hebron was detaining Laurie Adkins on his property. Adkins had arrived at the produce stand demanding a refund for what she stated was bad corn and watermelon which was later discovered to have not been purchased there. The proprietor was getting ready to provide the refund when a proprietor of another nearby produce store arrived and denounced Adkins for just attempting the same act at his store which he had declined to refund. Upon meeting with the deputy Adkins admitted she was trying to scam the produce stands from cash.
While being detained by the one proprietor, Adkins assaulted him by hitting and scratching him.
The deputy placed Adkins under arrest and transported her to the Central booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Adkins in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.

Narrative: On 9 June 2012 at 10:34 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported stabbing in the 9000 block of Guy Ward Road in Pittsville. The deputy discovered that William Smith – Lake was at a party and tried to drive away while extremely intoxicated.
Another subject attempted to stop William when William became enraged, pulled out a knife and cut this other subject on the hand. Upon the arrival of the deputy, other party goers were holding William on the ground.
The deputy placed William under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained William in the Detention Center in lieu of $125,000.00 bond.

Narrative: On 9 June 2012 at 4:44 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle being operated by Margaret Ann Frantz of Elkridge, MD at a speed in excess of 90 mph on U.S. Rt 50. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. The deputy temporarily walked away from the vehicle and turned around to observe the rear male passenger spraying an aerosol can inside the vehicle. The deputy began a search of the vehicle and recovered a “bong” type smoking device and two separate baggies of marijuana.
The deputy placed all three occupants, the driver Frantz and her two passengers, Sean Stewart and a 17 year old juvenile under arrest for possession of marijuana. Upon transport to the Central Booking Unit, Frantz and Stewart was both processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After their initial appearances, the Commissioner released both on Personal Recognizance.
The 17 year old juvenile was detained at the Sheriff’s Office pending an arrival of a parent from Columbia, MD. Charges will be filed with the Department of Juvenile Services for formal adjudication.

Suspect: Thomas L. Wheatfall, 50, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 9 June 2012 at 9:44 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle he recognized as previously being reported stolen. Instead of stopping the driver continued in an apparent attempt to flee before stopping the vehicle and continuing to flee on foot. The pursuing deputy gave chase and caught him after a brief foot pursuit. Upon apprehension, the driver was
identified as Thomas Wheatfall and was discovered to have marijuana in his possession.
Additionally, it was discovered that Wheatfall was operating the vehicle while his privilege to drive in Maryland was revoked.
The deputy transported Wheatfall to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of a District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Wheatfall in the Detention Center in lieu of $35,000.00 bond.

That’s where the idea for a beach weekend to help Ava and her family came about. Here’s a look at the featured activities this weekend.

Salisbury's speed cameras will continue for about 5 more weeks.
Wicomico County speed cameras will run 365 days a year.
How our Council Members agreed to such is beyond me but authorities are telling me there's still activities going on in the schools throughout the summer, therefore they will continue to operate. Salisbury stops when summer school lets out.
Yeah, Wicomico County, it's all about the children's safety, NOT. Mind you, Mr. Fredericksen has requested they operate 365 days a year.

The Federal Reserve just released its Survey of Consumer Finances, the only government survey of wealth in America. The Survey is conducted every three years. This survey, conducted in 2010, is the first one to reflect the effects of the Wall Street Meltdown in 2008.
How does it look? Bad. Really, really bad.
The median wealth of American families (meaning half above and half below) dropped from $126,400 in 2007 all the way down to $77,300 in 2010. That's a 39% slide. It puts the median net worth of American families at its lowest level since 1995, fifteen years earlier.
About 12% of American families have a negative net worth. Meaning that they're broke.
Among Americans with no high school diploma (15 percent of the adult population), median wealth plunged from $34,800 in 2007 to $16,100 in 2010, a 54% drop. That is the lowest level since at least the Fed's 1983 survey, maybe earlier. So three decades of progress have been wiped out.
Among minorities, median wealth plunged from $29,700 to $20,400. That is the lowest level since 1992. White median wealth is now 540% higher than minority median wealth.
The median value of American homes dove from $209,500 in 2007 to $170,000 in 2010. But the median mortgage was almost completely unchanged: $74,700 in 2007, $74,100 in 2010. So debt payments increased from 7% of income to 11% of income.
In 2007, the bottom 25% had a net worth of $14,800 or less. In 2010, the bottom 25% had a net worth of $8,300 or less, a 44% decline.
In 2007, the top 10% had a net worth of $955,600 or more. In 2010, the top 10% had a net worth of $952,500, a decline of less than 1%.
Let me sum it up for you: In the greatest economic crisis that the United States has faced since the Great Depression, the rich barely lost a nickel. But the poor definitely got poorer. And people in the middle were crushed.
If this continues any longer, then we can invite a priest to administer last rites to the American Middle Class.

He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.
