Joe Biden urges you to 'take back America!' Obama and Holder say 'that's racist!'

Maybe Biden doesn't know who's in charge....

On Monday, Joe Biden appeared in Detroit where he sought to rile up the flagging, flaccid, rapidly-diminishing ranks of the both the local UAW and union members nationwide. Unfortunately, as Biden is wont to do, he gave a goofy fiery speech that ended up revealing a lot about himself, not to mention his administration's incoherence.

In short, Joe Biden has exposed himself as a big, fat, ugly, racist, Tea-partying pig.

Not content to just say "Unions are super-cool, man, go join up," Biden started yelling about how "we need to take back America" and reform the tax code.

"The American people," Biden wailed, "Have not stopped dreaming! The American people have not walked away from what they believe they are entitled to! Just give them a chance! No handouts, just give them a chance! Because once you give Americans a chance, they have never, never, never, never, ever, let their country down! Never! So folks, it's time to take back America!"

CDC Director: Ebola Outbreak ‘Is Spiraling Out Of Control’

ATLANTA (CBS Atlanta/AP) — The director for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention says that the Ebola outbreak is going to get worse.

Speaking to “CBS This Morning” following his trip to the West African countries dealing with the outbreak, Dr. Tom Frieden explained that they have to act now to try to get Ebola under control.

“It is the world’s first Ebola epidemic and it is spiraling out of control. It’s bad now and it’s going to get worse in the very near future,” Frieden told CBS News. “There is still a window of opportunity to tamp it down, but that window is closing. We really have to act now.”

Frieden, who visited Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, will tell Washington tomorrow that the Ebola outbreak is “spiraling upward.” The CDC director explained that these countries still need help to deal with the deadly outbreak.

Sentencing Delayed For Convicted Cop After Courtroom Outburst

A former police officer screamed obscenities and lunged at prosecutors during a sentencing hearing Tuesday and the courtroom erupted into chaos.

Former District Heights officer Johnnie Riley, 44, exploded from his seat, dashed past his public defender Allen Wolf, and raced towards the prosecutor's table. Assistant State's Attorney Jason Knight had been addressing the court when Riley raced towards him. Fellow prosecutor Rene Joy, who is in the late stages of pregnancy, scrambled over a 3-foot barrier that separates the spectators from the prosecutor's table.

Several court officers were needed to take down Riley.

The outburst resulted in a court recess. When Prince George's County Circuit Court Judge Hassan El-Amin brought both sides back to court, he delayed Riley's sentencing until Oct. 15 and revoked Riley's $100,000 bond. On top of the 45 years behind bars Riley already faces, he could also be charged with contempt of court.

Irresponsible Choices

The latest Gallup poll indicates that 14 percent of the people “moderately disapprove” of Barack Obama’s performance as president and 39 percent “strongly disapprove.”

Since Obama won two presidential elections, chances are that some of those who now “strongly disapprove” of what he has done voted to put him in office. We all make mistakes, but the real question is whether we learn from them.

With many people now acting as if it is time for “a woman” to become president, apparently they have learned absolutely nothing from the disastrous results of the irresponsible self-indulgence of choosing a president of the United States on the basis of demographic characteristics instead of individual qualifications.

It would not matter to me if the next five presidents in a row were all women, if these happened to be the best individuals available at the time. But to say that we should now elect “a woman” president in 2016 is to say that we are willfully blind to the dangers of putting life-and-death decisions in the hands of someone chosen for symbolic reasons.

If we were to choose just “a woman” as our next president, would that mean that any criticism of that president would be considered to be a sign of being against women?

MILITARY ABANDONS SOME COMBAT DOGS OVERSEAS

In his USA Today column, Jonah Goldberg exposes a national disgrace I was completely unaware of, one that is almost too heartbreaking to comprehend: the United State military sometimes reclassifies combat dogs as "equipment" and abandons them to languish in shelters overseas in war zones.

Other than the fact that combat dogs save an average of 150 American lives during their service, these living creatures form strong emotional attachments to the men assigned to them. But when their time is up -- when they become too old, combat fatigued or shall-shocked to be useful in combat -- rather than transport them home for adoption, they are sometimes heartlessly abandoned.

Goldberg writes that…
It is one thing to ask these warriors to say goodbye to their dog when it is still on active duty and is assigned a new handler, which often happens. It is quite another to ask them to leave these dogs behind when the dogs are effectively abandoned overseas, left to languish in shelters — or worse. That's why handlers are sometimes forced to make incredible sacrifices to get their four-legged comrades home on their own.

Behind the Sinking of the Lusitania

About how America became involved in certain wars, many conspiracy theories have been advanced — and some have been proved correct.

When James K. Polk got his declaration of war as Mexico had "shed American blood upon the American soil," Rep. Abraham Lincoln demanded to know the exact spot where it had happened.

And did the Spanish really blow up the battleship Maine in Havana Harbor, the casus belli for the Spanish-American War?

The Gulf of Tonkin Incident, involving U.S. destroyers Maddox and C. Turner Joy, remains in dispute. But charges that North Vietnamese patrol boats had attacked U.S. warships on the high seas led to the 1964 resolution authorizing the war in Vietnam.

REPORTS: FEDS LOSE TRACK OF 6,000 FOREIGNERS ON STUDENT VISAS WHO COULD 'DO US HARM'

The federal government has reportedly lost track of more than 6,000 foreigners on student visas, some of whom may be in the country "to do us harm."

According to an ABC News investigation, "58,000 students overstayed their visas in the past year. Of those, 6,000 were referred to agents for follow-up because they were determined to be of heightened concern." ABC found that "the number of foreign nationals obtaining visas to study in the U.S. has grown from 662,966 in 2003 to more than 1.2 million in 2012."

Peter Edge, "the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official who oversees investigations into visa violators," told ABC News that some of the foreign nationals "could be here to do us harm" and his "greatest concern is that they could be doing anything."

In Pennsylvania, buying beer out of state makes you a bootlegger

Adam Vickers is a just a regular guy who works for a general contractor and sometimes takes the back way home from work in Maryland. On occasion, he stops at a rural liquor store in Freeland, Md., to pick up some beer on his drive to Stewartstown, not far over the state line in Pennsylvania.

It sounds innocent enough, but under Pennsylvania’s Prohibition-era liquor laws, Vickers is also considered a bootlegger, and he’s technically subject to a citation just for picking up some cold ones, like he did the Thursday before Labor Day.

As crazy as it sounds, it’s against the law for Pennsylvania residents to buy alcohol outside of the state and then bring it back.

“I wasn’t aware that it was actually illegal,” Vickers said, cradling a 12-pack that would become contraband as soon as his truck crossed the Mason-Dixon Line.

“It’s absurd,” he added.

RGA Chair Christie To Headline Fundraiser For Larry Hogan

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Chairman of the Republican Governor's Association, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, will headline a fundraiser for Maryland gubernatorial candidate Larry Hogan on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in Bethesda, Md.

Maryland's next governor Larry Hogan said, "Governor Christie and the RGA recognize that we are in a position to win this year, and that our effort has dramatically changed the dynamic of this race. The failed policies of Anthony Brown have crushed struggling families and small businesses. People everywhere are realizing that we have a real opportunity to win this race and bring real change to Maryland."

Governor Christie is the first national figure to help raise money for the Hogan campaign. It marks a turning point in the race as national observers have begun to pay more attention following recent polls that show the race tightening. A recent poll by a respected national pollster shows Hogan just three points behind Brown and within the margin of error – a statistical dead heat.

Last week, campaign finance reports filed with the Maryland State Board of Elections show Hogan with a better than 3 to 1 money advantage heading into the final 60 days of the campaign.

Obama's Sinking Poll Numbers Have Dems 'Depressed'

On Tuesday’s broadcast of “CBS This Morning,” CBS News political director John Dickerson broke down how the numerous crises around the world are interfering with Democrats’ campaigns in the upcoming November midterm elections.

Dickerson explained that while Republicans are motivated, it is Democrats that are struggling get their core domestic policy expressed to voters.

“If you talk to voters and say what issue do you care about the most – it’s still domestic issues that they pick when they say what’s driving their vote,” Dickerson said. “But, what’s motivating Republicans in this election is disappointment with the president. The president’s approval ratings are at about 40 [percent]. More [Republicans] disapprove of the job [Obama] is doing than in 2010. You may remember, 2010 was a terrible year for Democrats. So Republicans are very motivated.”

News Organizations Sue For Access To Possible Michael Brown Juvenile Records

CLAYTON, Mo. – Lingering questions about Michael Brown could be answered Wednesday as two news organizations seek the release of any possible juvenile records for the unarmed 18-year-old who was killed by a Missouri police officer last month.

Juvenile records are confidential in Missouri, so it's not definitively known if Brown was arrested before he legally became an adult. Police have said Brown had no adult criminal record. The family's attorney, Benjamin Crump, has refused to discuss whether Brown had a juvenile record.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and a California online journalist have filed separate petitions in St. Louis County Family Court to determine whether Brown had past legal trouble. Both cite an overriding public right to know Brown's background after his shooting death by Ferguson officer Darren Wilson sparked more than a week of sometimes-violent protests and drew international scrutiny.

After 3 decades, NC man freed from prison

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina's longest-serving death row inmate and his younger half brother walked out as free men Wednesday, three decades after they were convicted of raping and murdering an 11-year-old girl who DNA evidence shows may have been killed by another man.

Henry McCollum, 50, hugged his weeping parents at the gates of Central Prison in Raleigh, a day after a judge ordered his release, citing the new evidence in the 1983 slaying of Sabrina Buie. His half brother, 46-year-old Leon Brown, was later freed from Maury Correctional Institution near Greenville, where he had been serving a life sentence.

"I knew one day I was going to be blessed to get out of prison, I just didn't know when that time was going to be," McCollum said. "I just thank God that I am out of this place. There's not anger in my heart. I forgive those people and stuff. But I don't like what they done to me and my brother because they took 30 years away from me for no reason. But I don't hate them. I don't hate them one bit."

Through his attorney, Brown declined to be interviewed following his release.

The Jig-Saw Puzzle Challenge

A little silver-haired lady calls her neighbor and says, "Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get started."

Her neighbour asks, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?"

The little silver haired lady says, "According to the picture on the box, it's a rooster."

Her neighbour decides to go over and help with the puzzle. She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table.

He studies the pieces for a moment, then look at the box, then turns to her and says, "First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster." He takes her hand and says, "Secondly, I want you to relax. Let's have a nice cup of tea, and then," he said with a deep sigh, "Let's put all the Corn Flakes back in the box."

US Signs Agreement with Mexico to Protect Mexican Workers – Including Illegals

At a signing ceremony on Friday, the U.S. government, through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), entered into a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with the Mexican government to allow Mexican Nationals – regardless of immigration status – to “exercise their workplace rights.”

The MOU is consistent with the “core mission of this commission,” Mexican Ambassador to the United States Eduardo Medina Mora Icaza said, adding “that regardless of national origin or immigration status all workers have rights and there are processes to safeguard them.

“This is what makes this country so great,” the ambassador said.

The four-page memorandum states in the “Overall Objective” section, in part, that its purpose is: “to establish a collaborative relationship to provide Mexican Nationals in the United States with information, guidance, and access to education and training resources to help them understand and exercise their workplace rights, particularly with regard to reducing violations again them under the laws and regulations that are administered and enforced by EEOC.”

Memo To Washington: Iraq Is Not A Nation And You Can’t Build One There With Bombs

Washington’s strategy in Iraq is in shambles, but not just because America’s spanker-in-chief is really a wimp at heart. The problem is far more generic. To wit, the geographic territory of Iraq is not a nation; it is an arbitrary series of lines on a map drawn 100 years ago by dandies in the foreign offices of two fading empires (the British and the French) - which lines encircled numerous tribes, ethnicities and religious confessions which had no interest in sharing a common statehood.

In the subsequent century, the warring peoples corralled within the Sykes-Picot boundaries were ram-rodded into a tenuous co-existence by a series of brutal monarchs, generals and dictators, backed up by British and American occupiers. But then the neo-con geniuses in the George W. Bush Administration hung the last dictator and the poll readers in the Obama White House had the good sense to adhere to their campaign pledge and bug out.

Pressing the climate hoax

The Obama administration signs up for a war on carbon dioxide

The globalists are taking the next step in the war on carbon dioxide. Scientists have linked this gas to the feeding of healthy plants and the blossoming of flowers, so the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the United Nations‘ global warming alarmist arm, last week let slip a plan for getting rid of it when the U.N. summit on the climate convenes on Sept. 23.

President Obama is preparing to use his executive authority to impose the carbon-dioxide limitations dreamed up by the climate hysterics when they meet next year in Paris. He intends to ignore his constitutional duty to ask the Senate’s consent, and use the Environmental Protection Agency and other departments to impose the rules. Ignoring the Constitution can be habit-forming, as Mr. Obama has shown us.

A 127-page draft by the U.N. climate panel insists that humans must drastically reduce their production of carbon dioxide because it’s heating the globe. Urgent action is needed lest “abrupt and irreversible change” result. The European Union just banned the most effective vacuum cleaners and has announced it is about to ban powerful hair dryers, lawn mowers, smartphones and kettles, all suspects in the continuing plot against the planet.

Feds Still Studying Why Lesbians Are Obese

Update: Total government funding now $2.87 million

The federal government is still seeking answers as to why the majority of lesbians are obese and U.S. taxpayers are footing the bill, which now totals $2.87 million.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) study is now in its fourth year, receiving an additional $670,567for fiscal year 2014. The project seeks to determine why “nearly three-quarters of adult lesbians overweight or obese,” and why gay males are not.

In just two years the project’s budget has nearly doubled, growing from $1.5 million to nearly $3 million today, despite fears that sequestration could jeopardize the project and other NIH funding.

Obama’s Miserable Failure

It was always obvious what Obama’s supporters wanted. They weren’t willing to settle for a Hillary, just another politician who would punch the clock, deliver tepid speeches and push their leftist agenda.

They wanted someone larger than life. A head made for Mount Rushmore and a body that would be cast in statues across the country. Speeches meant to be studied in classrooms for the next hundred years.

They compared him to JFK and Reagan. He was treated as the icon that his backers wanted him to be. His election was supposed to be a watershed moment in American history.

Instead it ends in miserable failure.

Hope And Anxiety Over Medical Marijuana

Chloe Isaac of Westminster takes a pharmacopeia of medication every day. There's the liquid Xanax, and the Valium twice per diem. There's the three kinds of anticonvulsants and liquid Ativan for when she has a particularly bad day. She must get her blood tested once a week to insure the risky blend of drugs is not damaging her liver, her kidneys or causing her to go blind.

Chloe is 23 months old.

According to her mother, Courtney Moser, Chloe suffers from Aicardi syndrome, a rare disorder that hijacks her nervous system with seizures as often as 200 times a day, even while she is sleeping. Moser and Chloe's father, Kevin Isaac, spoke with the Carroll County Times in March about how they hoped to access a medication that had reduced the number of seizures in other children with similar disorder and reduced their dependency on addictive medications: medical marijuana

At that time, however, the push for a legal medical marijuana system in Maryland seemed to have stalled. Maryland's first medical marijuana law had been passed in 2013, but it restricted the program to academic medical centers, such as Johns Hopkins.

Things I Don't Understand

There are things that really puzzle me. Some life insurance companies charge lower premiums if you haven't made a life-shortening lifestyle choice. Being a nonsmoker is one of them. Actuarially, that makes sense because the life expectancy for smokers is at least 10 years shorter than for nonsmokers.

Insurance company policies charge higher premiums to those who are obese. The National Institutes of Health reports that those with a body mass index greater than 40 have a six- to 14-year lower life expectancy. Again, actuarially, that makes sense. Indeed, there's a strong advocacy for higher life insurance, as well as health insurance, premiums for those whose lifestyle choices impose a greater financial burden on society, which obesity does. But there's one important exception.

According to the International Journal of Epidemiology, life expectancy at age 20 for homosexual and bisexual men is eight to 20 years less than for all men. That's a lifestyle shortening of life expectancy greater than obesity and tobacco use. Yet one never hears of insurance companies advertising lower premiums for heterosexual men.

And he's off! Obama jets out of the country without saying a single word about Steven Sotloff -- three hours after ISIS beheading video is made public

Barack Obama left for a three-day European swing Tuesday afternoon without saying a single word in response to a terrorist video showing the beheading of Steven Sotloff, the second American journalist to die that way on camera.

The president's departure came amid equally deafening swirls of helicopter rotors and tough questions about whether and when the U.S. will strike back in a meaningful and public way against ISIS, the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham.

News of Sotloff's execution broke online at 1:05 p.m. as White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest prepared for his daily briefing with reporters; he said four minutes later that he hadn't heard the news.

By 3:40, Obama was lifting off from the South Lawn of the White House on his way to a waiting Air Force One, which was 'wheels up' by 4:00.

Just two weeks ago, the president was widely criticized for being pictured fist-bumping on the golf course minutes after solemnly addressing the nation about an ISIS video showing photojournalist James Foley's death.

Tool Would Significantly Cut Phosphorus Runoff In MD

Maryland’s proposed, but controversial, Phosphorus Management Tool would help achieve significant nutrient reductions from the state’s agricultural lands if implemented, according to an analysis by the Bay Program.

The phosphorus tool, which was proposed by the state Department of Agriculture last year, uses information about phosphorus concentrations in soil and other site-specific conditions to determine the likelihood that the nutrient would run off fields and into waterways. Farmers could be prohibited from applying additional phosphorus to fields that score too high.

But the tool has been controversial because it could make large amounts of Eastern Shore cropland off-limits for additional applications of litter produced by Delmarva’s poultry farms.

Jimmy Carter at Islamic Conference: Americans Must “Use the Principles Of Allah To Bring Peace And Justice to All”

(TPNN) – Former President of the United States and unapologetic friend of violent extremists around the globe Jimmy Carter spoke this past weekend at an Islamic conference and hailed the “principles of Allah” as the key to finally seeing peace in the Middle East.

With the numerous failures of President Obama having devastating consequences around the globe, it’s clear that Jimmy Carter has been downgraded to being the second most-cowardly president in history.

During his speech at the annual convention for the Islamic Society of North America on Saturday, Carter called for “justice for the Palestinians,” saying, “You can’t bring peace to the Middle East without justice and human rights for the Palestinians. When my prayers are answered and we have peace in that Holy Land then the Israelis and all their neighbors will be blessed to live in peace and prosperity.”

Generous Teacher Pensions Continue as Illinois’ Financial Crisis Worsens

If the Illinois Teachers Retirement Service (TRS) had to pay out all of its pensions today, it could only afford to give its members 40 cents on the dollar.

Yet the number of six-figure pensions TRS has been doling out has increased 24 percent this year compared to last, with about 6,000 retired educators collecting more than $100,000 annually, according to records obtained by Open the Books, an online aggregator of local spending that tracks educator salaries, pensions and vendor spending.

The group’s Labor Day report found more than 100,000 retired Illinois educators had been paid back what they invested into the system just 20 months after leaving work, a financial burden linked to union collective bargaining, which can cost taxpayers $2 million or more per teacher over the course of retirement.

“For most school districts pension payments are one of the top five annual expenses,” said Adam Andrzejewski, founder of Open the Books. “Are we going to educate children or provide lavish lifetime benefits for administrators and teachers? There’s not enough taxpayer money to do both.”

Email reveals Lois Lerner ignored political expenditures by unions

The official at the center of the Internal Revenue Service tea party scandal once dismissed complaints that labor unions were not reporting millions of dollars in political activities on their tax forms, according to an email obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

In 2007, Lerner responded directly to a complaint that some major labor unions reported completely different amounts of political expenditures when filing with the IRS and the Department of Labor.

At the time of the email, Lerner was the Director of Exempt Organizations at the IRS.
