A Wise And Frugal Government....

“A wise and frugal government ... shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.” —Thomas Jefferson (1801)

FITTON: Congress Should Stop Wasting Time On Mueller — And Investigate Hillary Clinton’s Role In Steele Dossier

Congressional Democrats will finally get an opportunity to put on a public show starring former Special Counsel Robert Mueller when he appears before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.

Mueller was last seen at his May 29 press statement, in which he attacked President Trump by promoting a tenuous theory of obstruction of justice as grounds for impeachment. Mueller, despite the “no collusion, no obstruction” conclusion of his dubious report, smeared the president by presuming him guilty anyway, claiming he was not exonerated and signaled House Democrats to begin impeachment proceedings.

This hearing will give Mueller and the Democrats an opportunity to once again push the “destroy Trump” narrative and jump-start the impeachment process. Mueller’s testimony will be geared to that end. Democratic questions will seek to fill in the blanks to preserve Mueller’s manufactured reputation for probity. And the mainstream media will be primed — and probably pre-briefed — to drive the point home.

Italy is sending phone-addicted teens to rehab

Italy is planning on packing phone-addicted teenagers off to rehab with a tough new law to curb social media obsession.

New legislation is set to crackdown on a phenomenon called “nomophobia,” which means living in fear of losing your mobile and having no internet connection.

According to the bill, eight out of 10 Italian teens suffer from the tech-related malady, prompting politicians to take a stand.

Vittoria Casa, an MP with the governing Five Star party, who proposed the bill said: “It’s getting worse and worse and it must be treated like an addiction.

Devin Nunes assails Democrats at Mueller hearing: They 'colluded with Russian sources'

Rep. Devin Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, assailed his Democratic colleagues during Robert Mueller's second and final hearing of the day for what he said was their role in fostering the spread of British ex-spy Christopher Steele's unverified anti-Trump dossier.

Heralding the hearing as the "last gasp of the Russian collusion conspiracy theory," Nunes said in his opening remarks that Democrats were complicit in running a "Russia hoax" with the media to damage President Trump's reputation. At the same time, Nunes said the Democrats have "brazenly" ignored "red flags as well as the transparent absurdity of the claims they are making" to argue for "nearly three years that evidence of collusion is hidden just around the corner. Like the Loch Ness Monster, they insist it’s there even if no one can find it."

The California Republican said that for congressional Democrats, "the Russia investigation was never about finding the truth. It’s always been a simple media operation, and by their own accounts, that operation continues in this room today."

Mentions of Immigration as Top Problem Surpass Record High

“After hitting a new high last month, mentions of immigration as the most important problem facing the U.S. increased further to 27% in July,” Jeffrey Jones writes for Gallup. As Jones explains, that number is historically significant.

“Gallup has asked the ‘most important problem’ question since 1939, and has done so on a monthly basis since March 2001. Over the past 19 years, only five other issues have been mentioned at some point by at least the 27% who named immigration this month.”

“Immigration is likely to remain a top issue for Americans, particularly at points when large numbers of immigrants or asylum seekers are attempting to enter the country illegally.”

Committee member to Mueller: There's 'almost' nothing in Volume 2 I wouldn't have seen on cable

Congresswoman Debbie Lesko said that the second volume of the Mueller report was filled with news stories that she could've seen on cable news as she questioned the former special counsel during his appearance before the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday morning.

Mueller was testifying about his two-year-long investigation into whether or not the president or his campaign knowing conspired with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election. The special counsel's office did not determine if the president obstructed justice, citing the Department of Justice's guideline that a sitting president cannot be indicted, but the second section of his report focused on 10 instances in which Trump may have done so.

Lesko questioned Mueller about the second volume of the report.

Nolte: #MeToo Is Dead, and Franken Fangirl Jane Mayer Is the Killer

The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer’s desperately dishonest attempt to exonerate disgraced former Senator Al Franken (D-MN) is filled with more than just deception and lies of omission. On moral grounds, what Mayer admits to doing to one of Franken’s accusers is beyond shameful.

Mayer actually tries to shame this woman, a longtime Democrat, as a way to make it seem as though the accuser is the villain and Franken is the victim.

Back in December, the far-left Politico published the story of this anonymous Democrat staffer (Mayer leaves out the fact she’s a Democrat) who accused Franken of forcibly attempting to kiss her in 2006 when she appeared on his failed Air America radio show.

When she refused his kiss, she says he told her, “It’s my right as an entertainer.”

Mary Ann Mendoza: Politicians Enabling Illegal Alien ‘Invasion’ Are Helping Kill Americans ‘Every Single Day’

Politicians facilitating an “invasion” of illegal immigration are “contributing to the death of every innocent American” that is killed by illegal aliens on a daily basis, said Angel Mom Mary Ann Mendoza in a Tuesday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

“Every one of these congressional leaders who have done nothing to secure our border — to stop this invasion that’s been happening — they are contributing to the death of every innocent American that is happening every single day,” Mendoza declared.

Mendoza continued, “Illegal aliens affect American citizens every hour. … Americans are torn apart by illegal alien criminals every hour. They are. Either they’re killed, they’re raped, they’re assaulted, it’s a hit-and-run, or their identity is stolen. Every hour, an American is affected by illegal alien crime, and it’s growing every day as more of them come over our borders.”

Cory 'Spartacus' Booker Wants To Assault Trump; Blames Testosterone For Violent Fantasies

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) can get in line behind Joe Biden as the second 2020 presidential candidate who wants to assault President Trump.

In a Monday night appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," booker relayed a story from an Iowa campaign event where dozens of people showed up - one of whom told him to "punch Donald Trump in the face."

"Dude, that's a felony man," Booker replied, before launching into his deep seated desire to assault the president.

"Donald Trump is a guy who you understand- he hurts you and my testosterone sometimes makes me want to feel like punching him, which would be bad for this elderly, out-of-shape man that he is if I did that," said Booker," calling Trump a "physically weak specimen."

And after Booker calls Trump an "elderly, out-of-shape man," he adds that Trump is "the body shamer."

"That's his tactics and you don't beat a bully like him, fighting him on his tactics, on his terms, using his turf. He's the body shamer,he's the guy that tries to drag people in the gutter."

Bumbler, frail, feeble: Democrats lament Mueller performance before Congress

Many Democrats expressed concern on social media over Robert Mueller's performance during his testimony in front of the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday morning.

Former President Barack Obama adviser and CNN commentator David Axelrod said that Mueller "does not appear as sharp as he was" when he testified in front of Congress six years earlier.

The former special counsel is testifying about his 448-page report released in March, in which he concluded that neither the president or his campaign knowingly conspired with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election. Despite that, Mueller did not rule whether or not the president obstructed justice, following a long-standing Department of Justice guideline saying a sitting president cannot be indicted.

Black Lives Matter Leaders Travel To South Bend To Organize Residents Against Mayor Pete

“As Mayor Pete Buttigieg runs for president, Black South Benders are demanding that he not forget about home.”

A pair of seasoned, Los Angeles-based Black Lives Matter leaders recently traveled to Indiana to help local progressives organize residents against South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg as he contends for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Dr. Melina Abdullah, who leads Black Lives Matter’s L.A. chapter (BLM-LA), headlined a community meeting last Wednesday attended by the family of Eric Logan, a 54-year-old black man who was shot and killed by a white South Bend police officer on June 16. She was accompanied by Greg Akili, a former union organizer who was mentored by Cesar Chavez in the early 1970s. They “were invited to South Bend to organize” in the wake of the officer-involved shooting death, according to BLM-LA.

LIBERAL LESBIAN ‘RED PILLED’ AFTER ERICA THOMAS HATE HOAX

‘I expect to lose friends, but I don’t care’
A lesbian who identified as a liberal says she has switched political affiliations after a recent leftist hate hoax.

In a lengthy thread, Twitter user Christina Andrews announced she was tired of everything from liberal support for Antifa violence to the left’s promotion of 11-year-old drag kid Desmond the Amazing.

“You know what? F**k it. I’m done. As of today, I’ve swallowed the red pill,” she wrote on Sunday.

“I’ve tried half-heartedly defending the left ever since it was obvious we were only getting half the story in the Rodney King debacle,” Andrews wrote, adding, “No more.”

Andrews says she’s grown weary of defending the “transcult” that is imposing the “sexualization of children” and “drag queen storytimes.”

Omar Explodes At Questioner: ‘Waste’ Of ‘Time’ Condemning ‘Al-Qaeda,’ ‘FGM,’ ‘Hamas’

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) exploded at an audience member on Tuesday who asked her to condemn female genital mutilation — noting that it would be powerful if she did it — to which Omar said she was "disgusted" by the question and that it was a waste of time.

Ani Zonneveld, president of Muslims for Progressive Values, asked Omar, "Will you be able to make a statement against FGM? Because that's an issue in Detroit, and it would be really powerful if the two Muslim Congresswomen, yourself and Rashida, would make a statement on this issue."

Omar responded to the "appalling" question by saying: "Should I make a schedule? Like, does this need to be on repeat every 5 minutes? Should I be like, 'so, today I forgot to condemn Al-Qaeda, so here's the Al-Qaeda one. Today I forgot to condemn FGM so here it goes. Today I forgot to condemn Hamas so here it goes.' It is a very frustrating question that comes up."

Justice Department opens sweeping anti-trust investigation

The U.S. Department of Justice has opened a sweeping antitrust investigation of big technology companies to look at whether their online platforms have hurt competition, suppressed innovation or otherwise harmed consumers.

It comes as a growing number of lawmakers have called for stricter regulation or even breaking up of the big tech companies, which have come under intense scrutiny following a series of scandals that compromised users' privacy.

President Donald Trump also has relentlessly criticized the big tech companies by name in recent months. He frequently asserts that companies such as Facebook and Google are biased against him and conservative politicians.

The Justice Department did not identify specific companies but said the review would consider concerns raised about 'search, social media, and some retail services online' - an apparent reference to Google, Amazon, Facebook and potentially Apple.

Murder rate in Mexico hits an all-time high during the first half of 2019

Updated government data revealed that Mexico set a new record for homicides in the first half of the year with 17,608 killings, fueled partly by cartel and gang violence in several states.

The startling new figures released Monday showed that the first six month of 2019 were the most violent since 1997, when the country started keeping official numbers, including the peak year of Mexico's drug war in 2011.

The number of murders grew by 5.3% compared to the same period of 2018, when 16,714 people were killed.

Mexico saw 3,080 killings in June, an increase of over 8% from the same month a year ago, according to official figures. The nation of almost 125 million now sees as many as 100 killings per day nationwide.

Citizens Express Concerns Over $107K Bill For Berlin Park Cleanup

BERLIN – Citizen concerns about a chemical spill at Berlin Falls Park dominated a town council meeting this week.

Following a vote by the council to spend more than $107,000 for cleanup of the June spill, residents criticized municipal leadership for not addressing the issue sooner. They said officials should have been aware of any issues with the property when they purchased it.

“We bought this for $2.5 million and we didn’t look in one building?” resident Shaun McGowan said.

On Monday, the council voted unanimously to pay $107,524.83 to Chesapeake Environmental Services for cleanup at Berlin Falls Park following the chemical spill that occurred in late June as several old buildings in the park were being demolished. While there was no discussion at the time of the vote, the spill was the sole topic of concern voiced by citizens during the public comment portion of the meeting. When asked about the cause of the spill, Town Administrator Laura Allen said she couldn’t comment at this point.

Video shows bison tossing girl high in the air at Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park officials say a bull bison tossed a 9-year-old Florida girl into the air when the animal charged a group of about 50 tourists. Park officials say the bison rushed the group Monday after some of the tourists approached to within 5 to 10 feet of the animal over at least 20 minutes.
The Odessa, Florida, girl was taken to Old Faithful Lodge by her family for treatment by emergency personnel. She was later taken to a clinic and released.
A video of the incident appears to show a man and woman run away from the animal as the little girl is thrown high into the air by the bison.

2 years of significant delays coming to the Bay Bridge this fall

This fall, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) will begin a $27 million deck rehabilitation on the westbound span of the William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial (Bay) Bridge (US 50/301). As part of the two-year project, the right lane of the westbound span will close 24/7 from October to April during fall 2019/spring 2020 and fall 2020/spring 2021.

“Even though traffic volumes are lowest at the bridge during these months, drivers should expect major delays, even during normal conditions, and especially during holidays, traffic incidents and inclement weather,” said MDTA Executive Director Jim Ports. “We’re asking our customers for their patience and understanding and to bear with us during this necessary work to preserve this critical connection between Maryland’s shores.”

Beginning after Labor Day and continuing through Sept. 30, the westbound right lane will be closed continuously during weekdays from 9 a.m. Mondays through 6 a.m. Fridays. The long-term 24/7 right lane closure will occur from Oct. 1, 2019, through April 16, 2020, but will be lifted temporarily during the Thanksgiving holiday. Then from April 16 through May 20, 2020, the westbound right lane again will be closed continuously during weekdays from 9 a.m. Mondays through 6 a.m. Fridays. All lanes will reopen during the summer travel season when traffic volumes significantly increase. The MDTA will repeat the same schedule during fall 2020/spring 2021.

Macy’s Pulls ‘Mom Jeans’ Plates After Tweet

Writer Alie Ward spotted the plates at Macy’s flagship Herald Square location in New York on Sunday night, and tweeted a picture.

As the “Pourtions” company celebrated their new-found moment in the spotlight on Instagram, Ward took to Twitter with her complaint. “How can I get these plates from Macy’s banned in all 50 states?” she asked. Within hours, Macy’s answered.

“Hi, Alie — we appreciate you sharing this with us and agree that we missed the mark on this product,” the company tweeted. “It will be removed from all STORY at Macy’s locations.” Later, Macy’s delivered an apology via a statement to CNN:

Pourtions countered by claiming the plates are meant to be “a light-hearted take on the important issue of portion control,” while apologizing if the design was “hurtful to anyone.”

We feel very strongly about the positive, light-hearted message conveyed by our glasses & plates. The response today has been overwhelmingly positive, including more interest in Pourtions & sales today than ever before,” President Mary Cassidy wrote in an email.

As the creators of Pourtions, we feel badly if what was meant to be a light-hearted take on the important issue of portion control was hurtful to anyone. Pourtions is intended to support healthy eating and drinking. Everyone who has appreciated Pourtions knows that it can be tough sometimes to be as mindful and moderate in our eating and drinking as we’d like, but that a gentle reminder can make a difference.

Democrats’ Equality Act Could See Repeat Of Canada’s Transgender Genital Waxing Dispute

A high-profile dispute in Canada over whether a transgender activist can force women’s waxing salons to handle male genitalia could be repeated in the United States if a Democratic bill becomes law.

The Equality Act, which the House passed in May with unanimous support from Democrats, would make “gender identity” a protected category under federal anti-discrimination laws, as it is in Canada. The bill’s text specifically states that salons would be affected under the law.

“The Equality Act, by adding ‘gender identity’ as a protected classification in federal civil rights law, could be used by activists to legally harass women who do not want to wax male private parts—regardless of whether those male private parts are attached to people who ‘identify’ as men or women,” Ryan Anderson, a senior fellow at The Heritage Foundation, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

During Thomas' press conference, the man from the supermarket, Eric Sparkes, confronted the legislator for lying about what took place. He said he's a lifelong Democrat but Thomas was doing this for political gain. Recent Facebook posts back up Sparkes claim and show him being critical of President Donald Trump.

It looks as though this isn't Thomas' first public political plunder.

IT’S OVER: THE DEMOCRATS AND THE REPUBLICANS ARE BOTH CONSPIRING TO BANKRUPT AMERICA AND DESTROY OUR FUTURE

If the Republicans and the Democrats both don’t care about our exploding national debt there truly is no hope

Both major political parties are working together to destroy America’s financial future, and most Americans don’t seem to care.

Once upon a time, the Republicans were considered to be “the party of fiscal responsibility”, but now they are just as bad as the “free spending” Democrats. As you will see below, a “compromise” budget deal was just reached which will dramatically increase federal spending and will suspend the federal debt limit until after the next election. In other words, both sides are conspiring to make our debt problem much, much worse over the next year and a half, and this should be causing howls of outrage all across America. But instead most Americans seem content to go along with the free spending ways of our political leaders, and only a handful of voices are sounding the alarm as we steamroll toward financial oblivion.

When Barack Obama was inaugurated on January 20th, 2009, the U.S. national debt was sitting at a grand total of $10,626,877,048,913.08.

These 7 Democrats Floated Fake Russiagate Stories. Now They Get To Quiz Mueller

When Robert Mueller appears Wednesday before two congressional committees, he will face questions from at least seven Democratic lawmakers who have floated false claims about various aspects of the Russia probe, all without issuing retractions once the stories were debunked.

Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee such as Steve Cohen, Ted Lieu, and Sheila Jackson Lee have all circulated now-debunked reports that claimed former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen visited Prague during the 2016 election.

House Intelligence Committee Democrats Mike Quigley and Jackie Speier pushed the fake story that former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort visited WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

Completed Section of Trump’s New Wall Helping Secure Border, Say Agents

Border Patrol agents insist that completed new sections of border barriers are helping them to secure the border and making the agents safer in the process. This comes on the heels of media reports inaccurately asserting that no new barriers have been constructed during the Trump Administration.

Border Patrol Agent Mike Matzke told Breitbart News, “New sections of Trump’s wall have been built and anyone claiming that a 30-foot barrier that replaced a 10-foot high sheet metal fence isn’t new barrier doesn’t know what they are talking about. The old legacy landing mat fence in our sector wasn’t effective and really bad people were jumping all day and night.”

“We’ve had people throw Molotov cocktails over the old landing mat fence and it was dangerous because we couldn’t see through it like we can with Trump’s new border barrier. Here in El Centro, we have the highest stretch of border wall on the entire Southwest border. Trump’s new wall section is 30-feet high,” Agent Matzke said.

Other Border Patrol agents discussing the matter said that the new Trump wall segment was 2.25 miles long and described it as being in the most needed area.

Suburban Homeowners Lose as MD Democrats Protect Migration Inflow

Elected officials in Maryland’s Montgomery County are trying to abolish the legal foundation for suburbia — “single-family zoning” — to better aid and encourage a massive inflow of immigrant employees, consumers, and renters.

The council’s decision is expected on Tuesday, July 23, and it is aided by friendly coverage in the local establishment media.

But local voters are protesting that their housing wealth will be de-valued by the arrival of many temporary renters, more traffic, and chaotic diversity.

The Washington Post, for example, dismissed the suburban homeowners as “the latest soldiers in a vocal, sometimes ugly war against ADUs [Auxiliary Dwelling Units], a low-cost housing option that planning experts champion as a tool for modernizing an outdated vision of suburban America.”

Jordan, Catch 23 Boat Booked For White Marlin Open

OCEAN CITY — The White Marlin Open, which returns next month for the 46thyear, naturally attracts the sportfishing heavyweights, but this year’s lineup will have even more star power with the inclusion of basketball legend Michael Jordan.

For over four decades, the White Marlin Open, deemed the largest billfish tournament in the world, has been one of the highlights of the summer season. The tournament, with more than $5 million in prize money doled out last year including a record $2.5 million to the winner in the signature white marlin division, attracts the top boats, captains and anglers from all over the world.

Over the years, more than a few celebrities have competed and been seen hanging around tournament headquarters in Harbour Island. For example, a few years back baseball Hall of Famer Wade Boggs fished in the tournament and was seen around the marina the entire week.

This year will see perhaps the biggest celebrity ever to compete in the tournament with the arrival of Michael Jordan and his crew on the aptly-named Catch 23. WMO officials this week confirmed the Catch 23, a 80-foot Viking, has officially entered the 2019 tournament. Indeed, a check of current entries, which by mid-week had reached 134, revealed the Catch 23, either by mere coincidence, good timing or perhaps a perfect omen, is entry number 123.

Trump Sues to Stop Release of NY State Tax Returns

WASHINGTON (CN) – Acting as a private citizen, President Donald Trump filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday to block the House Ways and Means Committee from getting his state tax returns after New York lawmakers made it easier for members of Congress to do so.

Taking issue with the TRUST Act passed by New York lawmakers in May — authorizing state tax officials to release returns filed by lawmakers and political party leaders in response to requests from three congressional committees, including the House Ways and Means Committee — the lawsuit claims the legislation directly targeted Trump.

It notes the law also requires the release of the president’s state tax returns “if the Committee has already requested the President’s federal returns from Treasury.”

“The hyper-specific condition was, not coincidentally, already satisfied for the intended target of the Act: President Trump,” according to the lawsuit, which demands a permanent block on enforcement of the TRUST Act.
