Ayanna Pressley just filed an impeachment resolution against Brett Kavanaugh in the House
Amid politicians’ calls for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s impeachment, Rep. Ayanna Pressley is actually trying to get the process started.
Pressley on Tuesday filed an impeachment resolution that presses the House Judiciary Committee to kick off an investigation that would mark the first step in an impeachment process.
The resolution urges the House panel to look into sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh, and grants the committee subpoena power and resources as part of its investigation. Specifically, the resolution would enable the committee, or a task force it establishes, to conduct a probe into Kavanaugh, subpoena witnesses, and receive funding for this effort. The full House would have to approve the resolution for it to go into effect.
“I believe Christine Blasey Ford. I believe Deborah Ramirez. It is our responsibility to collectively affirm the dignity and humanity of survivors,” Pressley said in a statement to WBUR.

COLT REPORTEDLY TO STOP MAKING RIFLES FOR CONSUMER MARKET
Connecticut-based Colt Firearms last week reportedly signaled they are exiting the consumer rifle market in coming days.
The company, originally founded in 1855 by inventor Samuel Colt to make handguns, will stop making rifles for retail sales channels. The news came from The Truth About Guns who confirmed it with Paul Spitale, senior VP of Colt’s commercial business line and was verified by Shooting Illustrated.
“We’re going to focus on the products that our consumers are asking for. We’ve expanded our 1911s and our revolver line, and that market has been very positive for us,” Spitale said. Shooting Illustrated reported that Colt’s rifle line production is occupied, at least for the time being, with outstanding contracts which include orders through police and defense channels.
According to records from the ATF for 2017, the most current available, Colt produced some 31,987 pistols and 7,342 revolvers at their West Hartford, Connecticut factory that year. This compares with 13,942 rifles, of which 2,097 were exported. Since 2017, the company has been aggressively expanding its long-dormant revolver line, introducing several Cobra and King Cobra wheel guns, to an eager audience.

Teacher Who ‘Reported’ Illegal Students To Trump Gets Fired
A high school teacher lost her job for sending a series of tweets directed at President Donald Trump, complaining that her school had been “taken over” by illegal alien students.
The Fort Worth Independent School District’s board on Tuesday upheld its decision to let English teacher Georgia Clark go, the school board revealed later that day. Clark, who taught English at Carter-Riverside High School, lost her contract after sending tweets to the president earlier this year that were viewed as anti-immigrant.

Genetically-modified mosquito apocalypse plan BACKFIRES spectacularly
An experimental trial to reduce the mosquito population in Brazil through the deliberate release of 450,000 genetically modified mosquitoes has failed miserably and may have even created a genetic hybrid super species.
British biotech company Oxitec conducted a 27-month long experiment in 2013 Jacobina, Brazil, aimed at reducing the local mosquito population by 90 percent while preserving the genetic integrity of the local insect population.
The overall goal was to curb the spread of mosquito-borne diseases, such as yellow fever, dengue, chikungunya, and Zika, by releasing half a million OX513A mosquitoes. The insects are a genetically-modified version of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which combined a breed from Mexico with a breed from Cuba.
The mosquitoes were supposed to contain a dominant lethal gene that would render the first generation of future offspring infertile (while also marking them with a fluorescent green protein gene). Well, as it often does, life found a way.
“The claim was that genes from the release strain would not get into the general population because offspring would die,”said ecologist and evolutionary biologist Jeffrey Powell who conducted a recent study into the efficacy and success of the GM mosquito trial. “That obviously was not what happened.”

California Bans State-Funded Travel To Iowa. Ted Cruz Hilariously Educates Them.
Last Friday, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced that California would ban state-funded and state-sponsored travel to Iowa because the state passed a law barring the funding of gender-transition surgeries under Medicaid, making Iowa the 11th state that California has placed on its travel ban.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), seizing the opportunity, hilariously pointed out something that the California government might have missed: their ban would impede the chances of their own senator, Kamala Harris, from traveling to the state that is the first nominating contest in the Democratic Party presidential primaries. He tweeted, "Wow, California's ban on travel to Iowa's really gonna hamstring Kamala Harris's presidential campaign."
Becerra stated when he made his announcement, "The Iowa Legislature has reversed course on what was settled law under the Iowa Civil Rights Act, repealing protections for those seeking gender-affirming healthcare. California has taken an unambiguous stand against discrimination and government actions that would enable it. That's why my office is adding Iowa to the list of states subject to state-funded or sponsored travel restrictions."

Hammer time: US construction index at record high, more work than workers
Optimism in the U.S. construction industry has reached a record high, with builders forced to push off work because finding help is difficult due to the historic unemployment low.
The new Commercial Construction Index, compiled by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and USG Corp., climbed to a record high in the third quarter, with 77% of commercial contractors optimistic about their future.
The index, provided to Secrets in advance of its release, also found that “half of all contractors” expect higher revenue and the expectations for bigger profits next year also surged.
“Contractors are thinking about the future and are optimistic about what’s ahead,” said Christopher Griffin, CEO of USG Corporation. “Continued levels of confidence around backlog and profit suggest nonresidential construction will continue to play an important role in overall sector growth,” he added.

Why? Because free speech matters. And elections have consequences.
Sweeping Speech Bans
In 2017, the City Council passed a law that punishes counselors who engage in LGBT-related speech from a certain viewpoint—the viewpoint of a patient seeking to overcome unwanted transgender feelings or same-sex attraction.

Republicans would be dumb not to pick a budget fight over sanctuary cities
Very few people in America realize the extent to which Democrat-controlled areas are now harboring the worst illegal alien sex offenders and dangerous criminals. Republicans barely talk about it and never use any legislative leverage point to expose the issue and force a resolution. The latest budget deadline is a perfect opportunity for them to either end sanctuary cities or expose the open-borders supporters to the American people. They’d be dumb not to pick a budget fight over this issue right now. Case in point? Montgomery County, Maryland.
Hillary Clinton carried Montgomery County 75-19. Local Democrats couldn’t lose office if they tried. Yet a sustained focus from just a few reporters and one Trump administration official on how its sanctuary policies harbored scores of illegal alien sex offenders has brought County Executive Marc Elrich to the negotiating table.
WAMU reports that after meeting with ICE officials on Wednesday, Elrich is considering changing his policies on notifying ICE when local police release criminal aliens from local jails. Frank Madrigal, ICE’s Baltimore deputy field office director, said in a statement, “We are pleased that we were able to come together with Montgomery County officials today to speak more clearly and candidly about our goals for public safety.” While stopping short of touting any policy breakthrough, he noted that in general, “This kind of open dialogue is welcome, productive, and more supportive of our public safety practitioners and the communities they serve.”

Attorney General Frosh Announces Indictments Following Year-Long Investigation of Multiple Defendants Illegally in Possession of Firearms
Attorney General Charges Seven Defendants for Lying on
Firearms Applications
BALTIMORE, MD (September 18, 2019) – Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today announced the indictments of seven defendants: Robert Maxwell Gibson, 27, of Joppa; Larry Elliot Anthony, 42, of Hanover; Wayne Eugene Davis, 49, of St. Leonard; Robert Lance Glorius, 34, of Waldorf; Gary Wayne Morris, 30, of Great Mills; Vincent Monroe Barber, 41, of Finksburg; and Kevin Maurice Smith, 25, of Suitland. Charges in the indictments include, among other things, illegally possessing firearms after previously being convicted of a crime of violence or other disqualifying crime. The investigation was led by the Maryland Office of the Attorney General and the Maryland State Police (MSP) Gun Enforcement Section.
Under state law, if a person is convicted of a disqualifying crime, the person is prohibited from possessing a firearm of any kind, regulated or non-regulated. A disqualifying crime is defined as: (1) a crime of violence, (2) a violation classified as a felony, (3) a violation classified as a misdemeanor that carries a statutory penalty of more than two years. If a person is convicted of any of these offenses, he or she is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Additionally if an individual is under the age of 30 and has been adjudicated delinquent by a juvenile court for an act that would be a disqualifying crime if committed by an adult, that person too is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
DEFENDANTS:
- In 2010, Robert Maxwell Gibson was adjudicated delinquent in Montgomery County Pennsylvania Juvenile Court for receiving stolen property. As a result, he is prohibited from possessing firearms until he is 30-years old. On December 4, 2018 Maryland State Police Troopers seized 14 firearms from his residence in Harford County.
- In 2009, Larry Elliot Anthony was convicted of 2nd Degree Assault and Possessing a Regulated Firearm After Being Convicted of a Felony in Howard County Circuit Court. On December 7, 2018, officers seized two firearms belonging to him.
- In 2013, Wayne Eugene Davis was convicted of 2nd Degree Assault in St. Mary’s County District Court. The investigation revealed that on October 5, 2018, and November 16, 2018, he possessed firearms in Frederick County and on March 25, 2019, he possessed four firearms in Calvert County.
- In 2017, Robert Lance Glorius was convicted of 1st Degree Burglary in Charles County Circuit Court. The investigation revealed that on April 19, 2019, he possessed a firearm in Charles County.
- In 2010, Gary Wayne Morris was convicted of Escape in the 2nd Degree in St. Mary’s County Circuit Court. The investigation revealed that on April 27, 2019 he possessed a firearm in Charles County.
- Vincent Monroe Barber has been convicted of Escape in the First Degree in the Circuit Court for Carroll County, Second Degree Assault in Harford County District Court, and Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Circuit Court for Carroll County. The investigation revealed that he possessed two firearms in Carroll County on April 1, 2019.
- In 2013, Kevin Maurice Smith was convicted of Armed Robbery in Washington, D.C. On January 25, 2019 officers seized two firearms and ammunition from his residence.
“These are individuals that have already been convicted of crimes that prohibit them from owning a firearm,” said Attorney General Frosh. “They knowingly lied on their application and illegally attempted to hide their prior criminal history to purchase firearms.”
The defendants have various hearing dates set in the Circuit Court of the County in which the case was indicted.
In making today’s announcement, Attorney General Frosh thanked Organized Crime Chief Katie Dorian, Assistant Attorney General Mack J.B. Swan, and Detective Sergeant Frank Lopez of the MSP Gun Enforcement Section. Attorney General Frosh also thanked State’s Attorney for Harford County Albert Peisinger, State’s Attorney for Anne Arundel County Anne Colt Leitess, State’s Attorney for Calvert County Andrew Rappaport, State’s Attorney for Charles County Tony Covington, States Attorney for Frederick County Charlie Smith, State’s Attorney for Carroll State’s Attorney for Carroll County Brian DeLeonardo, and State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County Aisha Braveboy for their assistance in this investigation.

Levin: Jerry Nadler ‘has worked overtime and feverishly to release convicted, very serious criminals’
Tuesday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin pointed out that while the Left digs into the obscure details of Republican politicians’ lives, no one is taking even a cursory glance at Rep. Jerry Nadler, D.-N.Y.
“How little reporting is done about Jerry Nadler,” Levin said. “No exposés. We don’t know anything about his great-grandfather. You know, we know about Mitch McConnell’s great-great-grandfather, but we don’t know anything about Jerry Nadler’s grandfather. We don’t know anything about his family. Not a word; not a thing.”
Levin read an article from Townhall detailing Nadler’s “long and disturbing history of supporting and facilitating the release of some of America’s deadliest terrorists.”
“Now it’s funny how all these interviews on CNN and MSNBC, ‘Meet the Press,’ ‘Face the Nation,’ ‘This Week,’ none of this comes up. None of it,” Levin said.

But they’re all valedictorians and entrepreneurs: Illegal aliens amnestied by Obama sue for right to welfare
There is no group of people showered with more adulation than those granted amnesty under Obama’s illegal “DACA” program. Even Republicans speak approvingly of the “dreamers,” and there is near-consensus among the political class to protect “DACA,” as if it were a statute passed unanimously by Congress (like immigration enforcement laws!) or enshrined in the Constitution. For years, we were told that these people were the greatest among us, people who are valedictorians and are destined for a bright future. Well, if that is the case, why are they suing us to access welfare?
Yesterday, Georgetown Law’s Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection and CASA de Maryland filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland against the Trump administration’s new rule, which finally enforces our public charge laws in our legal immigration system.
So, who are the parties to the lawsuit? Two illegal aliens! They are using a law that is designed to protect taxpayers from giving green cards to those who are likely to become a financial burden. The problem is these two illegal aliens, although granted DACA amnesty by Obama, have no ability to get a green card. Aside from the absurd notion of suing Trump for partially enforcing a much stronger law, there quite literally is no standing in this case. Yet they are now treating DACA as if it is a legal category making illegal immigrants eligible for green cards.

All The Other States Beg California To Add Them To Travel Ban
U.S.—After California added Iowa to its growing list of states to which the government will not fund trips, all the other states began clamoring to get added to this ban list.
"Wait---there's a way to get Californian politicians banned from traveling here? Where do we sign up?" said one state legislator in Georgia. "Is there a waiting list? Wait---all we have to do is refuse to fund gender transition surgeries!?! That's amazing!"
While just eleven states are currently on the list, dozens more are applying. Soon, almost every state except Oregon and New York will be on the list, and peace and utopia will break out across the nation as CA politicians will no longer be able to go there and say weird things and do even dumber things.

ICE opens a detention center to try to show conditions are humane
TACOMA, Washington — The spread of bad information is what “fueled” a self-declared antifa supporter’s shooting rampage and arson attempt at a federal immigration detention facility here this summer, according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official who runs the center.
In the two months since the incident, the political climate has not cooled. Employees who work at the privately-run Northwest ICE Processing Center, maintained by the private sector GEO Group, have received threatening postcards in the mail.
The facility’s new director, Nathalie Asher, says she decided to break with protocol to show the public the facility in order to address a range of criticisms against it and demonstrate immigrants are not being held in "concentration camps," as one Democratic lawmaker stated in June.

Author and Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway told Breitbart News Daily on Monday morning that the New York Times had repeated the media’s past misbehavior in publishing a new allegation against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh on Saturday while hiding exculpatory information in their possession.
“These reporters published a story that didn’t include information that even they had in their own book,” Hemingway, who is also a senior editor at TheFederalist.com, told Breitbart News editor-in-chief Alex Marlow.
“They themselves concede that the woman had never said anything about this publicly, and that through several friends … she had denied any knowledge of what this person was talking about. They also hit the fact that the person making the allegation is a Clinton-connected attorney.”

James Murdoch: 'There are views I really disagree with on Fox'
James Murdoch, the son of conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch, proclaimed that there are viewpoints he "really" disagrees with on Fox News.
Murdoch, 46, explained how he's moved on after leaving the Murdochs’ media company in an interview with the New Yorker's Jane Mayer, which was published Tuesday morning. He was given a $2 billion severance package when he decided to move on from his roll as the CEO of 21st Century Fox and Sky, P.L.C., and the deputy COO of News Corp. after their merger with Disney.
In the interview, he expressed concern over increasing threats to democracy throughout the world.
“There’d been a bet for a long time that economic liberalization would inevitably lead to political liberalization,” Murdoch said, “but it didn’t work out that way.”

ANOTHER illegal alien arrested for brutal rape in notorious sanctuary Montgomery County
Democrats don’t seem very interested in fighting sexual assault crimes when they’re part of the growing trend of rape arrests of illegal aliens in sanctuary Montgomery County, Maryland, going on right now.
Josue Gomez-Gonzalez, an illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested on September 12 for raping a female friend of his in Montgomery County while they were both drunk. ABC7 News’ Kevin Lewis, who has been tracking criminal aliens in Montgomery County, noted on Twitter that this is “at least the ninth undocumented immigrant charged with rape or sex abuse of a minor in Montgomery County, Md. since July 25.”
According to the police report, posted by Lewis on twitter, a female victim accuses Gomez-Gonzalez of raping her in the back of his car and then later in his Gaithersburg, Maryland, home, leaving her bleeding. The statement of probable cause by detectives alleges that Gomez-Gonzalez admitted to committing these multiple acts of rape and sexual assault even as the victim protested in her intoxicated state.
Gomez-Gonzales is charged with two counts of second-degree rape and second-degree assault and is being held on $100,000 bond pending an October 11 hearing.
As I’ve noted, there is a particular problem with both drunk driving and sexual assaults against children committed by Central American illegal aliens that is being covered up by the media and protected by sanctuary counties. Those most harmed by sanctuary policies are others in the immigrant communities who are the most likely to be victimized by criminal aliens.

21-Year-Old Honduran Native Accused of Raping 6-Year-Old Girl in Montgomery County, Maryland – Faces 155 Years in Prison
A 21-year-old Honduran native was accused of raping a 6-year-old girl and then claimed that if she told anyone about the sexual assault he’d “ground her for 100 days.”
Wilder Hernandez-Nolasco, 21, of Silver Spring, Maryland began sexually assaulting the little girl (possibly a family member) when she was just 5 years old — and the Democrats endorse this evil with their silence.
The victim told police that Wilder Hernandez-Nolasco touched her vagina with his hand, digitally penetrated her vagina, exposed his penis, had the victim touch it and engage in vaginal intercourse, according to the statement of charges.
Wilder Hernandez-Nolasco admitted to police he sexually assaulted the girl, but claims he didn’t vaginally rape her, according to the statement of charges.

Larson Thawing Out 'The Far Side' For a 'New Online Era'
Cartoonist Gary Larson appears to be bringing his legendary comic strip "The Far Side" out of retirement, with fans noticing that its official website was updated over the weekend with a new cartoon and a message announcing the news.
“Uncommon, unreal, and (soon-to-be) unfrozen," the message reads, along with a Larson-drawn cartoon of a man using a blowtorch to thaw out a cow, a dog, a caveman, a child, and a woman, which fans would recognize as their favorite Far Side characters, reports The New York Times. "A new online era of The Far Side is coming!”
The strip was at one time a multi-million dollar empire. It ran from Jan. 1, 1980 through Jan. 1, 1995, and resulted in cartoons that ended up being used in calendars and on coffee mugs, greeting cards, t-shirts and more.

Successful Retirees ‘No Longer Welcomed’: ‘We Didn’t Leave Connecticut … Connecticut Left Us’
A couple who lived their lives and raised their family in Connecticut tell how the political class has destroyed the New England state they once called home but is now “no more.”
Gary and Michelle Vallo, formerly of Glastonbury, write in an op-ed at the Hartford Courant they have packed up their “lifetime of belongings” and left the state they loved.
“It was sad to leave a state we had called home our entire lives,” they say. “But the Connecticut we once knew — the vibrant economy and the rational oasis between New York and Massachusetts — is no more.”
“[W]e didn’t leave Connecticut so much as Connecticut left us,” the couple assert.
Gary Vallo, formerly CEO of an insurance company, and his wife Michelle, a homemaker and former employee in the insurance industry, are now retired. They explain they have both worked to build successful careers and raised children who are well-educated and successful as well.

Millennials stressed from tech and social media overload
Burnout is now recognized as a legitimate medical diagnosis, according to the International Classification of Diseases from the World Health Organization.
And it happens to all of us from time to time. But how do employees limit digital workplace-related stress and overcome the tech backlash that drives inefficiency?
East Weymouth, Mass.-based online acupuncture supply company Lhasa OMS surveyed 2,010 millennials in June 2019 to learn more about their stress levels. It wanted to find out what impact stress has on their lives and their coping methods.
Americans work longer hours and have more stress-related illnesses than in other countries. Stress can affect your thoughts, your behavior, and your health. Almost four out of five (78%) respondents believe that life is more stressful today than for previous generations.
It is not surprising as workers who work a 42-hour week on average report feeling extreme burnout.
Topping the list of burnout factors for millennials are financial and career stresses. In this digital-first age, over half of millennials (56%) feel that technology or media overload give them a stressful life. A similar%age (55%) are stressed due to social pressure online.

NYT Reporter: Every Single Person We Spoke to Said Kavanaugh Has Been a Great Person and an Exemplary Judge
The New York Times reporters who've written a new book about the Kavanaugh confirmation have been making the media rounds -- a prestigious press tour that was largely and conspicuously denied to the conservative co-authors of a bestselling, news-packed book on the same subject -- and some of their answers have caught a lot of people's attention. Over the last 24 hours, these journalists have (a) blamed their editors for originally omitting a crucial fact (that the supposed female victim from the "new" accusation does not recall the alleged incident ever happening) from an opinion story based on their work, (b) theorized that perhaps the woman couldn't recall the totally uncorroborated claimed occurrence because she was too drunk (pure speculation), and (c) praised Kavanaugh's post-college life and career to the hilt:
More
"In the 36 years since [alleged collegiate and high school malfeasance], Brett Kavanaugh has been a better man. Whether he realized the error of his ways, whether he consciously reformed himself, or he grew up and simply matured -- he has been an exemplary judge. Everyone we talked to couldn't speak more highly of him, on both sides of the aisle. And he actually has a much more nuance view, kind of position on the Court. He's not a right-wind ideologue either. He's actually an establishment conservative who has promoted women on the Court. So that's something else we wanted to get across here: Which is, you know, everyone can kind of demonize him, and everyone can kind of demonize these victims, and the reality is somewhere in between. And considerably more complicated, considerably more nuanced, and that's what we're trying to portray in this book."This is quite an extraordinary answer, given that it attempts to be fairly charitable to Kavanaugh, citing the universal admiration he's earned as an adult, both in his personal and professional life. But it assumes that Kavanaugh has been 'rehabilitated' from crimes and wrongdoing that he has adamantly and consistently denied -- and for which there is no evidence. Go back and read this. Calling Ford and Ramirez "victims" presumes they are telling the truth, with the implication being that Kavanaugh is guilty. Ford's uncorroborated story is not believed by her own father, or by the very close female friend Ford cited as a key witness (who has emphasized that she's a liberal Democrat). And Ramirez's story is doubted by...Ramirez. These reporters are treating corroboration and evidence as if they're secondary or even tertiary concerns. And by the way, if Kavanaugh is aggressively lying about these accusations, then that undermines the whole 'better man' story they're trying to tell, as a means of balancing the Narrative.

Ex-Trump campaign chief Corey Lewandowski rips Democrats at House hearing
WASHINGTON — Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski slammed “Trump haters” and criticized House Judiciary Committee Democrats for making him appear before their panel — in an impeachment hearing that quickly descended into chaos.
“Sadly, the country spent over three years and 40 million taxpayer dollars on these investigations,” Lewandowski said in his opening statement. “It is now clear the investigation was populated by many Trump haters who had their own agenda — to try and take down a duly elected president of the United States.”
Of the Democrats, Lewandowski said at one point, “I think they hate this president more than they love this country.”
Lewandowski is the first witness hauled before the committee by Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) on the heels of panel members voting to define the scope of their impeachment inquiry. He served as President Trump’s first campaign manager, but has never had an official White House role.

Nadler threatens to hold Lewandowski in contempt for 'unacceptable behavior'
House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler threatened to hold Corey Lewandowski in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer some Trump-related questions.
Lewandowski sat in front of the Democratically led Judiciary Committee on Tuesday for a hearing over former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and the conspiracy that Trump colluded with Russians to affect the election.
"Your behavior in this hearing room has been completely unacceptable. It is part of a pattern by a White House desperate for the American people not to hear the truth," Nadler told Lewandowski late into the hearing. "I have been asked several times today whether the committee will hold you in contempt. It is certainly under consideration."
