Main Stream Media Polls Are B.S.
The other day I was looking at some information on the Internet and I came across everyone and their brother putting up polls asking if they were for or against the Bailout.
The funny part was, on the big MSM Sites, the majority of Americans were for it. However, I'd go to the local Sites and it was overwhelmingly proving 80%+ were against it.
IMHO, I believe the MSM is controlling the way we think and understand matters of serious nature, similar to our local Daily Times.
The Blogs are the future Ladies & Gentlemen because YOU can participate by being vocal and expressing your opinions. Sure, we deliver our Opinion as Owner and Contributors but at least you get a voice.
I just can't believe that 84% of Americans are for the Bailout and that's what many of the BIG MSM Sites were shoving down every one's throat. B.S.! Am I wrong? Do you actually believe we should Bail Out these Crooks?

Its Not Even Halloween & Our Federal Government Is Trying To Scare Us To Death!
The Bailout should be renamed, "Bullshit."
Leave it to our very own Federal Government to once again attempt to scare the living crap out of every American with the sky is falling.
Think about this in simple terms Folks. Our President has come to us, (OUT OF NOWHERE) and said, we need $700 billion. OK, just how long was this problem going on that all of a sudden out of nowhere we need more money than any other financial crisis in the history of America?
That being said, can YOU really trust those people running our Country if they HID this for so long? They can't deny it was hidden. So now we're supposed to give up $700 billion to the same people that lied to us with a cover up?
Again, I say, let the chips fall where they may. Let's hit rock bottom, deal with the pain and start enforcing these regulations so it doesn't happen again. This goes for our local government as well.

Harris Celebrates Energy Freedom Day
Annapolis - Today, the congressional moratorium on off-shore drilling expired. With expiration of the moratorium, billions of barrels of oil and natural gas will now be accessible to help alleviate the United States' dependence on foreign oil.
"The expiration of the moratorium is a victory for Maryland families paying high energy costs," said Andy Harris. Lifting the ban will lower energy costs hardworking families pay which will in turn stimulate our struggling economy.
Andy Harris has advocated for an all of the above energy solution including opening new areas to domestic exploration of oil and natural gas, developing the next generation of alternative energy technology, and encouraging more conservation.
"Our nation must become energy independent." Harris said. "The United States can no longer afford to send hundreds of millions of dollars to nations like Russia, Venezuela, and Iran who are not friendly to the United States."
In contrast, Andy Harris' opponent, Frank Kratovil, refuses to support increasing our domestic supply of oil and natural gas. "Frank Kratovil's opposition to increasing domestic production of oil and natural gas is hurting Maryland families," said Chris Meekins, Harris Campaign Manager. "Kratovil's opposition to expanding production clearly shows he is beholden to radical liberal special interest groups who have given thousands of dollars to his campaign."
Kratovil's own words on off-shore drilling:
"I don't think we need any new spots to drill".(WYPR Interview on 6/13/2008)
"Don't open up new areas." Star Democrat, 7/23/08
"Off-shore drilling is a red herring," - Star Democrat, 7/29/2008

General Petrais Honors Civilian Contractors
Joe,
These are pics taken of a friend who was honored when asked as one of the few civilian "contractors" in the group that accompanied the General. Jeff
"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."
-- U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864 (letter to Col. William F. Elkins)

Real News In Real Time
Yesterday brought us 340 comments, (so far) and that number is guaranteed to rise as the days go on. This is great stuff Folks. While visitors continue to increase every day here at Salisbury News, your participation plays a key role in healthy debate as well as knowledge of information you're just not going to get from other sources of MSM. Now if I can only get them to stop stealing my photos and stories, (or at least get paid for them) I'd be in much better shape. Oh well, when we go after their advertisers here soon we'll show them what they've been up to and why SBYnews is actually the leader as to where to go to get your local news and information. I love the WMDT statement, "More News In Less Time." I'll go with, "Real News In Real Time" for Salisbury News instead. Keep those comments coming and again, thank you for all the support.
District 1 Congressional Debate - The Bus-In Brawl
While I love a spirited debate, it amazes me how there is a distinct double standard when liberals misbehave. Personally, I have no problem with Democrat candidate Frank Kratovil busing in folk to pack the debate hall to his advantage. It's good politics. My quarrel is with the Obama / Kratovil contingent (you should have heard the cheers whenever "The One" was mentioned) shouting down GOP candidate Andy Harris whenever he pointed out a flaw in Kratovil's record as prosecutor or when Kratovil misstated Harris' record.
While Kratovil whined about negative campaigning and attacks on his record, he's the one running negative ads on TV. Last night he went so far as to encourage the Obama / Kratovil crowd in their rude behavior on at least two occassions.
To the debate -

Largest Re-enlistment Ceremony - Ever
I'm sure you already know about this. It was shown over and over on TV, right?
OK, so maybe it wasn't shown over and over, but surely it was shown on TV at least one time, wasn't it ?
This was the largest re-enlistment ceremony ever held in military history. The ceremony was held on the 4th of July, 2008 at Al Faw Palace, Baghdad , Iraq . General David Petraeus officiated. This amazing story was ignored by the 'mainstream' media.
For those who have been in the Al Faw Palace, you'll have a better appreciation of the number of people crammed around the rotunda supporting the re-enlisting soldiers.
American men and women volunteering to stay longer in Iraq, so that when we leave, the new democracy will have a chance of surviving, is the exact opposite of what the media wants you to think about Iraq. If only a bomb had killed 5 civilians in a marketplace - now that's the kind of news the media is eager to tell you about.
A pizzeria in Chicago donated 2000 pizzas that were made and shipped to Baghdad , and were delivered on the 4th.
The media did report that 2000 pizzas were sent to Iraq on July 4th... The only part they left out of the report was the event for which the pizzas were sent.
I can't help but wonder...
What would the opinion of Americans be if they weren't getting such obviously biased 'news?'

If You Can't Beat Em, Bus Them In
Last night was probably the rudest, sickening display of class and manors I have ever experienced.
The Kratovil Rent-A-Suporters disrupted the Debate like 18 year old adults who only made it through 3rd Grade West Virginia Step Children.
What do you feed these Idiots from Ocean Pines anyway? They acted like they were all rejects from communities around the country that no longer wanted them.
Some didn't appreciate Andy being so direct but let me assure you, I want a man in Congress that isn't going to say what you want to hear and kiss ass in order to get the job. Andy will stand up for YOU and he will stand very firm on what he believes in and only wants your vote if YOU believe he can do a great job in Congress. He's not running for a popularity contest here.
Getting back to the point here though. The rude people from Ocean Pines should be ashamed of themselves as they were setting an example for the positive, kind SU Students in attendance who, (IMO) handled themselves with class.
If you have an a$$hole parent like the ones attending last nights event, send them to Ocean Pines when they retire. They'll fit right in. Oh, they also have bus trips to Atlantic City, Landfills and other interesting places.
If I ever become that disruptive and annoying make sure you let me know. Oh, wait a minute, I resemble that remark. I guess I'm moving to Ocean Pines soon. (bowing my head in shame). LOL

5 Year Old's 1st Job
Here's a truly heartwarming story about the bond formed between a little 5-year-old girl and some construction workers that will make you believe that we all can make a difference when we give a child the gift of our time.
A young family moved into a house, next to a vacant lot. One day, a construction crew began to build a house on the empty lot. The family’s 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in the goings-on and spent much of each day observing the workers. Eventually the construction crew, all of them gems-in-the-rough,' more or less, adopted her as a kind of project mascot. They chatted with her during coffee and lunch breaks and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important. At the end of the first week, they even presented her with a pay envelope containing ten dollars. The little girl took this home to her mother who suggested that she take her ten dollars 'pay' she'd received to the bank the next day to start a savings account. When the girl and her mom got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age. The little girl proudly replied, 'I worked last week with a real construction crew building the new house next door to us.' 'Oh my goodness gracious,' said the teller, 'and will you be working on the house again this week, too?' The little girl replied, 'I will, if those a$$holes at Home Depot ever delivers the f/n sheet rock.'

The Obama Whoops List
TERRY ANDERSON, A BLACK LOS ANGELES TALK RADIO HOST, WENT DOWN A LIST OF THINGS SENATOR OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AREN'T EXACTLY CORRECT. It's a long list.
Obama's Not Exactlys:
1.) Selma March Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google 'Obama Selma ' for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles about its various untruths.)
2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.
4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya . It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Obama, is Odinga's follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for v verification of that....and for more.
Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia Muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians' homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth.
5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5 am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn't allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.
6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and 'Baraka' (from which Barack came) means 'blessed' in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama. Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya , his father's family was mainly Arabs.. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as 'one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.' This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says 'Obama's narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.'

Obama/McCain Rally
On television today a Democratic operative pointed out that when Obama holds a rally 25,000-30,000 people show up, whereas when McCain holds one he only draws 10,000-15,000.
The Republican spokesman replied, "That's because McCain's supporters are at work."
The Republican spokesman replied, "That's because McCain's supporters are at work."
Rush/Debates
"These debates, they're phony. They're total media creations. What happens in a debate? Okay, these two guys show up someplace, they stand at lecterns, and you have three or four selected elites from the Drive-By Media get to ask the questions, therefore frame the whole debate. The candidates don't. After it's over, the Drive-Bys then head to the spin room, where various representatives of both candidates tell the Drive-Bys what they didn't hear but that they wanted them to hear, and then the Drive-Bys tell us after all that what they heard that they wanted us to hear, defying our own eyes and what we saw. "
Alternative To Bailout
From Dave Ramsey, good ideas IMHO
Years of bad decisions and stupid mistakes have created an economic nightmare in this country, but $700 billion in new debt is not the answer. As a tax-paying American citizen, I will not support any congressperson who votes to implement such a policy. Instead, I submit the following three steps:
Common Sense Plan.
I. INSURANCE
A. Insure the subprime bonds/mortgages with an underlying FHA-type insurance. Government-insured and backed loans would have an instant market all over the world, creating immediate and needed liquidity.
B. In order for a company to accept the government-backed insurance, they must do two things:
1. Rewrite any mortgage that is more than three months delinquent to a 6% fixed-rate mortgage.
a. Roll all back payments with no late fees or legal costs into the balance. This brings homeowners current and allows them a chance to keep their homes.
b. Cancel all prepayment penalties to encourage refinancing or the sale of the property to pay off the bad loan. In the event of foreclosure or short sale, the borrower will not be held liable for any deficit balance. FHA does this now, and that encourages mortgage companies to go the extra mile while working with the borrower—again limiting foreclosures and ruined lives.
2. Cancel ALL golden parachutes of EXISTING and FUTURE CEOs and executive team members as long as the company holds these government-insured bonds/mortgages. This keeps underperforming executives from being paid when they don’t do their jobs.
C. This backstop will cost less than $50 billion—a small fraction of the current proposal.
II. MARK TO MARKET
A. Remove mark to market accounting rules for two years on only subprime Tier III bonds/mortgages. This keeps companies from being forced to artificially mark down bonds/mortgages below the value of the underlying mortgages and real estate.
B. This move creates patience in the market and has an immediate stabilizing effect on failing and ailing banks—and it costs the taxpayer nothing.
III. CAPITAL GAINS TAX
A. Remove the capital gains tax completely. Investors will flood the real estate and stock market in search of tax-free profits, creating tremendous—and immediate—liquidity in the markets. Again, this costs the taxpayer nothing.
B. This move will be seen as a lightning rod politically because many will say it is helping the rich. The truth is the rich will benefit, but it will be their money that stimulates the economy. This will enable all Americans to have more stable jobs and retirement investments that go up instead of down. This is not a time for envy, and it’s not a time for politics. It’s time for all of us, as Americans, to stand up, speak out, and fix this mess.

Mr. Ed: Thanked everyone for coming out this evening. Acknowledge and take serious steps for growth. It's time to look into sidewalks to make it a walking community now when everyone is talking about making communities green.

Mr. Fred: He brings forty years of service with him. Wants to look at bad and good growth.

I'm Fed Up With the System And Won't Take It Anymore
People are sick and tired of being treated as a consumerist hamster. There is such a large disconnect from the realities of Main Street from those on Wall Street and the lives of those in the mainstream media. They simply do not understand the silent anger many Americans feel. These Americans despise the fact that we are having to answer to foreign banks because our local representatives cannot manage their Wall Street masters. Many of these Americans fall under the Benjamin Franklin rules of frugality:
“1. A man may, if he knows not how to save as he gets, keep his nose all his life to the grindstone, and die not worth a groat at last.
2. Beware of little expenses; a small leak will sink a great ship.
3. Buy what thou hast no need of, and before long thou shalt sell thy necessaries.
4. A fat kitchen makes a lean will.
5. Many estates are spent in the getting, Since women for tea forsook spinning and knitting, And men for punch forsook hewing and splitting.
6. Think of saving as well as of getting: the Indies have not made Spain rich, because her outgoes are greater than her incomes.
7. Women and wine, game and deceit, Make the wealth small, and the wants great.
8. What maintains one vice, would bring up two children.
9. Who dainties love, shall beggars prove.
10. Fools make Feasts, and wise men eat them.”
1776 where art thou? Many Americans are yearning for a return to a time when our economic prowess was based on our ability to spend and invest wisely. Not what we have now which is Wall Street turned into a casino for the connected and wealthy. The ability for information to travel so fast and people to be informed is fantastic. The fact that many of you contacted your Representatives shows that we are in a new era of politics. It was only a matter of time before the politicians listened to the will of the people. This was one of those rare moments.
They’ll try again to jam something down the throat of the public but hopefully they scratch this bill and start from scratch. Maybe, they’ll even explain to us why they needed $700 billion. Let us first look at the current price tag:

Dear Mr. Obama Supporters
Dear Mr. Obama Supporters,
I thought it was a well put together letter that makes alot sense and highlights many of the reasons why alot of people dont like Obama. As for calling "Mr. Gregg" a racist? Come on, you people are sad. People always say," the only reason you dont vote for Obama is because he is black." No the reason i dont vote for him is bc he is wayy liberal and all he has is a charismatic charm and black skin. If there was a black Republican i would happily vote for him as i did Ehrlich/Steele years back. Huge amounts of blacks that have never voted before are going out and voting for the first time and let me guess it has nothing to do with the fact that Obama is black, right? Yeah ok. And to the person who called "Mr. Gregg" a racist because he called Obama an angry black man, you are absolutely out of your mind. Ignorance lives inside your head. When is the last time you turned on BET Comicview and listened to the comedians talk about white people? I am white and i could care less what they have to say about me as a white male, or my race as a whole. I invite all of you to watch BET Comicview (or YouTube) and listen to what they have to say, and then picture a white person saying the same thing about a black person. All hell would break lose, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would have a field day and whichever white person said it would be shunned forever. If a white kid gets beat up by a group of black kids, thats it, he got beat up. If a black kid got beat up by a group of white kids, its a hate crime there will be rallies and protests all across the country. I mean come on just think about it for one second. If you need to, re-read the last couple sentences and ask your self if what i just said is the least bit true? Of course there are many people out there who wouldnt vote for a black politician whether they agreed with him/her or not. But just to clear the air for all you liberal wackos, the reason I am not voting for Obama is because i dont care for him or his policies (or lack thereof) , nor do i care for the reason why half of you are voting for him.
