TWO MORE US BANKS BITE THE DUST - 24TH AND 25TH BANK TO FAIL THIS YEAR

It's becoming increasingly difficult to monitor the Feds bank seizure activity as they embark on Stealth maneuvers. Once again, right after each bank closed Friday night the Feds moved-on two more banks, one in Georgia and the other in Texas.

Haven Trust Bank in Duluth, Georgia and Sanderson State Bank of Texas become the 24th and 25th Bank to fail this year. The FDIC's fund has been dwindling as an increase in bank failures has taken its toll, reducing the fund to $34.6 billion at the end of the third quarter.

FYI - SBYnews has now deployed night vision goggles to try and help monitor the Feds stealth activity in order to cover these events. Remember, you read here first on SBYnews.

Fernando Guerrero To Hold Public Press Conference Tomorrow

Fernando Guerrero will hold a Press Conference tomorrow at the Black Diamond in Fruitland at 12:00 sharp.

If you attend, they ask you bring a gift that will be donated to the Salvation Army or canned goods which will be donated to the Maryland Food Bank. We checked with the Food Bank to see what they're in need of the most and they stated canned stew, chili or tuna fish. I'm sure you know, anything would be great.

Normally these events are exclusive to the Press but Hal Chernoff and Fernando feel Salisbury is their HOME and they want YOU involved. Fernando will be available for autographs as well as answer anyone's questions.

We Have The Coolest Post Tomorrow Morning

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Salisbury News will have one of the most rewarding Posts we've ever delivered at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning. It doesn't get any better than this.

Pete Bubbas, Owner Of Zia's Restaurant Arrested AGAIN

The owner of Zia's Restaurant was arrested last night for soliciting a prostitute along with 6 other John's.

Mr. Bubbas has been having trouble with the law a lot recently as he was arrested not long ago for allegedly assaulting one of his employees. I was also told by someone that this isn't the first time this has happened, but it hasn't been confirmed.

Like I said, Wicomico County is one horny place to live!

HISTORICAL MOMENTS BY GEORGE CHEVALLIER

THE CHILDREN’S HOME
The origin of the structure itself is that it was built between 1857 and 1860 by General Humphrey Humphreys as his summer home. His primary residence was on Broad Street in Salisbury between the Jackson Memorial Building and the Presbyterian Church. The Humphreys’ family cemetery is still located behind the house between the east and west lanes of Fairfield Drive about 250 yards south of the Salisbury-Parsonsburg Road or Old Ocean City Road as it is now called. Interred in the plot are Gen. Humphreys (7/23/1799 – 3/7/1882)), his wife, Elizabeth (2/20/1816 – 9/10/1878), the infant daughter of Gen. and Elizabeth Humphreys (d. 7/28/1834 aged 8 days), Thomas Parsons Humphreys, son of Gen. and Elizabeth Humphreys (d. 9/25/1838 aged 4 mos. 4 days), Eugene Randolph Humphreys, son of Gen. and Elizabeth Humphreys (d. 10/13/1847 aged 4 yrs. 7 mos. 6 days) and Elizabeth Humphreys’ father, Elijah Parsons (7/20/1778 – 1/7/1854).

By 1907, the house and adjacent property was known as Fairfield Farms and was owned by Grant Sexton. It was the largest dairy farm serving Salisbury.

After its service as a dairy farm, the house was secured by Wicomico County in 1930 and used as a home for homeless boys and girls aged four to fifteen. The original Matron in charge was Mrs. Rhetta Duffy. The Children’s Home was subsequently under the supervision of Mrs. Beulah White Hare. While a campaign was conducted each year for contributions for its support, William H. Morton was the chief benefactor.

The Children’s Home was discontinued in 1954 after federal and state programs were instituted. For the next two years, it was an institution for boys with mental and emotional problems.

The property was then sold to the Lutheran Church which used it as a church until their new church was built in front of it (new church is visible from Old Ocean City Road). When their new church was ready they sold the old Children’s Home and it has been in the possession of private families since then. The present owners are restoring it at their own expense.

Before & After

Remember that beautiful old Barn that was looking like it was about to fall down off Rt. 50? Well, it looks like the owner chose to take it down before someone possibly got hurt. It was a beautiful piece of Eastern Shore History and we can simply rely on the photos we've posted here to keep that history known.

Sting Operation

Why is it when the police conduct a sting operation, one of the best ways to rid prostitution from an area they arrests the 'Johns' using a police officer posed as a hooker, but in Illinois, when the sitting Gov. wants to sell the seat of the Senator who has just gotten elected president; the police only arrest him and not all of the folks who offered money to buy that seat?

It seams to me we would get right down to the nitty gritty of the situation if the FBI would do this.

The FBI knew he was crooked, and they also know who is involved. My guess is these roots run deep and they run right into the office of the President Elect. Alexrod, and Emanuel, have already be reported to have had some contact with him over this seat. Now Obama and every one who is even remotely involved, is asking for him to step down.
If he does and decideds to profit on it by telling his story. It's not going to hold any water because it will be a guy who obviously did something wrong to save his butt, and in the end won't accomplish anything, because no one will believe hime, he will have lost all credibility.
One the other hand it the Governor would not step down, but instead. make the State build a case against him and bring impeachment proceedings. If he did this; it would put the Entire System on Trial, and that is exactly what really needs to be done.

Obama's Birth Certificate will look like nothing if the FBI were to really follow this lead.
Thank God, the press is finally coming to it's senses and seeing that they wanted Bush 43 out of office so badly they absolutely did nothing to dig any dirt on Obama.

I was watching the talking heads today and they admitted that they really don't know anything about him! Duh !!! It's about time that they start finding it out.

Gee, I wonder with the arrest of the Governor this week is making them feel like they may have a lot of butt to cover. If there is a connection here, (which I think there). The MSM needs to be ashamed of them selves and not be trusted again.

They have sold America a bill of goods in the Chosen One who actually does have flaws , and who's crap really does stink, without going through the simplest of digging on major stories that they were confronted with. Like the LA Times refusing to release video tapes. Or putting the question of his birth records, or college records out for everyone to see. Or lying about his relationship with Tom Ayers.
I looks like the Obahma Honeymoon is over. Thank God!

BOYS!

This is for those mother's of boys, sisters of boys, and boys that have grown older.

And anyone else who needs a laugh.

Why boys need parents...

And you also find out interesting things when you have sons, like...
1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.

2! .) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words 'uh oh', it's already too late.

8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36- year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.

10.) Cer tain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.

11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

12.) Super glue is forever.

13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15.) VCR's do not eject 'PB & J' sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

20.) The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.

21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.

23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

24.) 80% of Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

25.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.

Armed Robbery Upodate

ARMED ROBBERY UPDATE
December 12, 2008 4:16 PM

On December 12, 2008 at 1:35 PM, an armed robbery was committed in the
parking lot of BB&T bank near the campus of Salisbury University (not in
the Allenwood Center as was reported in the original campus bulletin.)
University Police officers were on scene within minutes of the incident,
and the investigation revealed that the assailants had fled away from
main campus.

Investigators are examining evidence and questioning persons of
interest. Anyone who may have additional information about this crime
is asked to contact the Wicomico Bureau of Investigations through the
Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department: (410) 548-4891. You may also
provide information to the Salisbury University Police Department: (410)
543-6222, or anonymously to Crime Solvers of the Lower Eastern Shore:
(410) 548-1776.

I would like to remind our campus community that crimes can occur
anywhere, at anytime. Individuals should always be attentive to their
surroundings, and remain alert to the potential ill-intent of others
nearby. Please review and consider the following tips:

Street Robbery Tips:
1. Try to remain calm. Do not resist. Consider the robber dangerous.
2. In most cases, the robber only wants your valuables/money and is
not there to hurt you.
3. Assume the robber is armed, even if you don't see a weapon.
4. If a weapon is displayed, consider it to be real and loaded.
5. Do only what the robber tells you. If you don't understand, tell
the robber.
6. Attempt to get a good, complete description of the robber, - taking
note of unique and unusual characteristics.
7. Your main goal is to survive!
8. Comply with the assailant unless it is evident that your life is in
danger.
9. Remember--your valuables can be replaced, your life can't.

Report any suspicious persons immediately to the police. If possible,
use a cellular phone to call 911 while maintaining visual observation of
the subject(s).
