Jacob Blake’s father, Jacob Blake Sr., recited a Quran verse this week when speaking to the media.
Jacob Blake was shot multiple times by a Kenosha police officer on Sunday after he resisted arrest and opened his car door, allegedly reaching for a knife.
Jacob Blake Sr. perfectly recited the first sura of the Quran: “Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim,” which means, “In the name of Allah, the merciful, the compassionate.”
“This is for my son Jacob Blake,” he said as he rattled off the war cry prayer in Arabic.

Bill Maher reveals why he is 'very nervous' that Joe Biden will lose, President Trump will win again
Bill Maher, host of HBO's "Real Time," admitted Friday that he is "very nervous" about Joe Biden's chances of defeating President Donald Trump in November.
Speaking with MSNBC host Joy Reid, Maher said he believes the Republican National Convention's optimism will prove very effective — so much so that his Biden enthusiasm is tanking.
"I don't know if this stuff works, but it might," Maher said, Fox News reported. "I am feeling less confident about this — maybe it's just their convention bump got to me, but I'm feeling less confident than I was a month ago."

DeVos: Students Don’t Need To Go Back To 100% In-Person Learning
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos met with Georgia high school officials on Tuesday to discuss reopening plans. While speaking at Forsyth Central High School in Cumming, Georgia, DeVos stated she would like to see all children return to fulltime learning.
However, she clarified that does not mean it needs to be completely in-person.
“President Trump and I are really committed to the fact that kids need to be back to learning fulltime. But don’t mistake learning fulltime for suggesting that every single student needs to be 100% in person in school. We need to give families and students choices.” – Betsy DeVos, Secretary of Education

BLM Whines After Getting Their Butts Kicked By Patriots As Cops Stand By and Watch
BLM is whining in Portland after getting their butts kicked by some patriots as the police stood by and did nothing. Perhaps this was because a stand down order works both ways, though we are only postulating that one was issued.
I didn’t see anyone jump into the fray like they do when they have a helpless victim. While watching these videos note that some BLM and Antifa are actually questioning, with a straight face, why the police won’t get involved and help them.
Families Say Online Learning Makes Education Difficult, Stressful
The first week of school has begun for a majority of students around the country. Students living in areas that have eased coronavirus restrictions will be allowed to learn in classrooms, while others will need computers in order to participate in online learning.
While online learning can keep students socially distant, some parents have expressed concerns over the real effectiveness of the practice.
One parent from Georgia shared a photo of her kindergartner on his first day of remote learning. In the photo, which went viral on Facebook, he appeared beyond frustrated while trying to learn online.
“I just took that picture because I wanted people to see reality. Then he came over, we hugged, and I was crying right along with him. Getting 5,000 emails a day from all their teachers, trying to keep up different apps, different codes, different platforms. Some links don’t work. You’re running from one laptop to another.”– Jana Coombs, parent

Glenn Beck apologizes to Trump: 'He proved me wrong at almost every turn'
Talk radio host Glenn Beck on Thursday issued a public mea culpa for fiercely opposing President Trump in 2016 and warning on air that Mr. Trump was an aspiring despot.
Mr. Beck said Mr. Trump proved him wrong on nearly every count, not only by keeping his seemingly impossible campaign promises but more importantly by displaying deep humanity.
“I am feeling so humbled this week. I feel truly horrible for the things I said and believed in 2016 about @realDonaldTrump,” Mr. Beck said in a series of tweets.
He sent out the apology as Mr. Trump prepared to accept the nomination for another term at the Republican National Convention.
Mr. Beck, who runs the conservative media empire TheBlaze TV, said in 2016 that opposing Mr. Trump was a “moral, ethical choice.”“He proved me wrong at almost every turn,” he wrote in the apology tweets, noting that Mr. Trump delivered on a pro-life agenda, completely supporting Israel and standing up to China.
“I knew he loved his children and they him,” he said. “What I failed to see, is the reason I think they love him. @realDonaldTrump is a loud New Yorker with a private heart.”

Russian pranksters fool Kamala Harris with fake Greta Thunberg phone call
The pranksters claim that Kamala Harris accepted dirt on President Trump
A duo of notorious pranksters, who have made a name for themselves by hoodwinking U.S. politicians, allege that their latest victim is Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.). The hoaxers claim they duped the recently anointed Democratic vice presidential nominee into believing she was talking to Greta Thunberg, even getting Harris into accepting fake dirt on President Donald Trump.
Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus, whose real names are Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, pretended to be teenage climate activist and her father Svante. The couple claim they were able to trick Kamala's team and successfully make a phony phone call to Harris in January, after she dropped out of the Democratic presidential race in December.
"Hello Greta, congratulations on all of your leadership, I am so inspired by your courage and your voice," Harris reportedly said to the fake Greta.
The fugazi Thunberg asked Harris how she could support Kamala's campaign, and she allegedly replied, "The best way to do it would be to talk about my climate plan."

Protesters in Portland target mayor's house, police union building
Protesters in Portland, Ore., demonstrated in front of the city’s police union building and Mayor Ted Wheeler’s (D) condo Friday in another night of protests, the Oregonian reported.
The demonstrators called for Wheeler’s resignation amid what they consider a failure to adequately address police violence in the city. One resident of the building and friend of the mayor, David Kahn, told the newspaper that Wheeler was not home during the demonstrations.
“I’m certain that if he was here tonight we probably could have arranged for something, but he’s not,” said Kahn.

Black Lives Matter protest in NJ results in $2,500 police OT bill for organizer, 18
A young New Jersey woman has been slapped with a $2,500 fine for police overtime costs after she set up a “small, peaceful Black Lives Matter protest” at the end of July, according to a report.
Emily Gil, 18, who graduated in June from Bergen County Technical School, failed to properly warn authorities in advance about the event, NJ.com reported.
Gil believed that a shortage of affordable housing options in her neighborhood was a racial issue that should be brought to the public’s attention through a 30- to 40-person protest, according to NJ.com.
But four days after the demonstration, Gil received a bill for police overtime costs that officials say the protest incurred.
The letter explained that Gil’s refusal to meet with officials left the Englewood Cliffs Police Department scrambling to provide security for the event, prompting overtime work for several officers.

Bradshaw presented the commissioners with a $582,000 proposal from Gipe Engineering for the continuation of the phased jail improvement project that began in 2017. The work primarily includes replacement of the 1980s heating and ventilation units, replacement of corridor and office heating and air conditioning units, the addition of temperature controls and the installation of HVAC in the program area room. Colin Kaepernick pens note to LeBron James: 'Thank you for staying true'
Colin Kaepernick sent a note of appreciation to LeBron James amid the NBA players’ strike over the police shooting of Jacob Blake last weekend.
James revealed the note on Instagram in the days after the players forced the NBA to postpone playoff games as they looked for ways to combat social injustice. Kaepernick, who started a movement in 2016 when he knelt during the national anthem, thanked James for helping to keep things moving.
“Four years ago on August 14, 2016, I began protesting against systemic racism and social injustice. Truth is what I sought. Solidarity is what you showed me. Love is what moves us forward. Thank you for staying true,” Kaepernick wrote in his note to the Los Angeles Lakers superstar.
James replied on social media: “Standing/Kneeling right next to you brother! Appreciate you."
James led players in kneeling during the national anthem when the NBA restarted its season in the Disney World bubble. Players, coaches and referees took a knee to protest racial injustice and police brutality in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
“The King” has also formed a coalition with other athletes to promote voter awareness ahead of the Nov. 3 presidential election.

Charges Filed For Tossing Objects At Pedestrians; Witness Recorded Three Separate Incidents
OCEAN CITY — A Maryland woman and a juvenile have been charged with allegedly throwing objects at multiple pedestrians deliberately along Coastal Highway last week.
Around 3:15 p.m. last Wednesday, Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) officers were dispatched to a parking lot at 97th Street for a report of a disorderly vehicle. OCPD officers met with a victim who reportedly told police she was running on the sidewalk near the parking lot when she was struck in the back of the head with an unknown object.
The victim told police a witness had observed the incident and recorded a cell phone video of it. OCPD officers viewed the video, which showed a Range Rover shifting into the bus lane and tapping the brakes. In the video, a juvenile boy emerges from the rear passenger seat window and makes a throwing motion toward the victim, according to police reports.
Officers contacted the witness who told police at Winter Harbor Drive he observed the juvenile emerge from the rear passenger seat window and throw an object at a woman pushing a stroller along the sidewalk. The object landed safely in front of the woman with the stroller.

Democrats claim Republicans are super racist for allegedly mispronouncing Kamala Harris' name!
According to Democrats, Republicans are now racist because they're allegedly mispronouncing the name of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.).
The Associated Press published a lengthy essay explaining the latest allegation of racism against the Republican Party, claiming top GOP leaders — from Vice President Mike Pence to GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel — are offenders.
The AP story is titled, "Democrats see racism in GOP mispronunciations of 'Kamala.'"
The crime, according to the AP, is where Republicans are accenting Harris' first name.
Pence, for example, recently said Harris' first name by accenting its second syllable, "kah-MAH'-lah." The AP said that McDaniel was guilty of the same. To correctly pronounce Harris' first name requires accenting the first syllable, "KAH'-mah-lah"— or as Harris explained in her book, "'comma-la,' like the punctuation mark."
Mispronouncing Harris' name is part of a "deliberate effort" to undermine the Democratic vice presidential nominee's appeal, critics claim.

Portland mayor responds to Trump: 'Stay away, please'
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler (D) fired back at President Trump after he suggested sending the National Guard to Oregon's largest city to deal with protests, pleading with him to “stay away, please.”
“Yet again, you said you offered to aid Portland by sending in federal law enforcement to our city. On behalf of the City of Portland: No thanks,” Wheeler wrote in a fiery letter to the president Friday.
“We don’t need your politics of division and demagoguery. Portlanders are onto you. We have already seen your reckless disregard for human life in your bumbling response to the COVID pandemic. And we know you’ve reached the conclusion that images of violence or vandalism are your only ticket to reelection,” he added. The letter comes as Portland grapples with lingering protests over systemic racism and police brutality that were sparked by the May killing of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.
LINGUISTS: YOUNG PEOPLE REFUSING TO USE FULL STOPS IN SENTENCES BECAUSE THEY SEE THEM AS ‘AGGRESSIVE’
Experts claim language is being “revised in a really fundamental way”, in part because of wokeness
The world’s leading language experts have noted that young people are ‘fundamentally’ altering written communication based on what they perceive to be aggressive or offensive.
In particular, the use of the full stop, or period, in sentences is diminishing according to linguistsbecause it has come to signify annoyance or offence.
“Full stops are, in my experience, very much the exception and not the norm in [young people’s] instant messages, and have a new role in signifying an abrupt or angry tone of voice,” notes Owen McArdle, a linguist at the University of Cambridge.
Fellow linguist Dr Lauren Fonteyn of Leiden University said “If you send a text message without a full stop, it’s already obvious that you’ve concluded the message. So if you add that additional marker for completion, they will read something into it and it tends to be a falling intonation or negative tone.”

State elections officials push back against concerns around mail-in voting, drop boxes
Multiple top state election officials on Friday pushed back against recent concerns that the increase of mail-in voting could lead to a spike in voter fraud.
Officials from both sides of the aisle testified in front of the House Homeland Security Committee during a hearing about protecting the upcoming elections.
“We actually have now conducted three elections this year alone with a full right to vote-by-mail with more citizens voting by mail than ever before and with zero reports or evidence of fraud,” Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (D) testified during the hearing.
Benson testified alongside Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams (R), who said that mail-in voting in his state had jumped during the primaries.
“I am very pleased to say that our election this year was clean, I did have some concerns about going from about 2 percent absentee balloting to what we ended up with, which was about 75 percent,” Adams said.

Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $1,305,919 federal grant from the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to the Talbot County Council for a project at the Easton Airport, Newnam Field. Funding originated from the Airport Improvement Program (AIP), and can be used for improvements related to enhancing airport safety, capacity, security, and environmental concerns.
Congressman Harris made the following statement on the award:

Easton Airport supports quality, good-paying jobs on the Mid-Shore, and during this pandemic, I support getting our rural communities in the First Congressional District the funds they need to continue to operate and thrive.”

Top general: Military will play no role in resolving any electoral dispute
The U.S. military will play no role in resolving any dispute about the election, the country’s top general said in written testimony released Friday. “In the event of a dispute over some aspect of the elections, by law U.S. courts and the U.S. Congress are required to resolve any disputes, not the U.S. military,” Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley wrote. “I foresee no role for the U.S. Armed Forces in this process. “I and every member of the Armed Forces take an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, and to follow the lawful orders of the chain of command,” he continued. “We will not turn our backs on the Constitution of the United States.”Milley’s comments came in response to questions for the record from Reps. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) that the pair had submitted to him after a House Armed Services Committee hearing last month.
The same questions were sent to Defense Secretary Mark Esper, but the lawmakers said he has not responded yet.
REPORT: WHITE HOUSE TO RELEASE ‘DOSSIER’ OF FAKE NEWS REPORTERS
“They are a disgrace to journalism and the American people”
The Washington Post reports that The White House has been prompted to compile a dossier of ‘false’ claims by reporters about President Trump, after the Post itself published a story with the headline “Room rentals, resort fees and furniture removal: How Trump’s company charged the U.S. government more than $900,000.”
“The Washington Post is blatantly interfering with the business relationships of the Trump Organization, and it must stop,” said Deputy White House press secretary Judd Deere.
“Please be advised that we are building up a very large ‘dossier’ on the many false David Fahrenthold and others stories as they are a disgrace to journalism and the American people,” Deere added, referring to the Post reporter.
The story claims that federal agencies have racked up bills totalling almost $1 million at Trump Organization properties since President Trump took office.
Nancy Pelosi admits Joe Biden is no match for President Trump in upcoming debates.
The report also claims that the Trump properties repeatedly charged the Secret Service for “resort” and “furniture removal” fees, as well as doing deals with government agencies to block book rooms for a fortnight at a time, in case Trump needed to travel.

Harris Urges In-person Polling Location on Smith Island
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) On Friday wrote to the Somerset County Board of Elections urging them to have an in-person polling location for the November 3rd election on Smith Island. Currently, there will not be a polling place on the island on election day or for early voting. Governor Hogan has stated that Maryland will not hold a vote by mail-only election and that each citizen should have the right to vote in person. A copy of Dr. Harris’s letter is attached.
Congressman Harris made the following statement:
“Governor Hogan has made it clear that each Marylander should have the option to vote in person in the federal election this fall. Smith Island is remote and requires paid ferry service to the mainland, where Somerset County will have a polling location. Given the costs of travel and unpredictability of weather that could impede getting to the mainland, my constituents on Smith Island who wish to vote in person could very well be disenfranchised of their Constitutional right on election day. I urge the Somerset County Board of Elections to rectify this situation.”

“Now, they’re starting to mention it because their poll numbers are going down like a rock in water,” Trump proclaimed, adding “Too late, Joe.”

Richmond Circuit Judge Bradley Cavedo issued a 60-day injunction in July shortly after Mayor Levar Stoney ordered the removal of the city’s Confederate monuments, using authority under a local emergency order, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported Thursday.
Stoney appealed the decision, and the Supreme Court ruled in his favor on Wednesday. The decision could clear the way for the removal of the city-controlled statue of Confederate Gen. A.P. Hill, who is buried at the site.
Texas County drops from 4,600+ Active Covid case to under 100 after audit
Coronavirus impact has been politically exploited and grossly overstated
Doubting the accuracy of State of Texas Covid-19 numbers, Collin Co., Texas, dropped its active case numbers from over 4600 to under 100 overnight after an audit.
Earlier this month, Collin Co.’s ‘Covid-19 Dashboard’ claimed over 4600 active cases in the county based on data provided by the Texas Dept. of State Health Services, prompting county officials to question the accuracy of the data because, presumably, the county’s hospitals weren’t overloaded.

Will Pelosi become President if there is no election result by January?
"President Trump's term ends at precisely noon on Jan. 20, 2021. If the Electoral College has not yet named a successor, presumably either Donald Trump or Joe Biden, then whoever is the speaker of the House would become the acting president of the United States."
Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano told "Varney & Co." on Thursday whether Pelosi would automatically assume the role of acting president if the 2020 election is delayed."It might be right," Napolitano told host Stuart Varney.
He explained, "If the Democrats retain their majority in the House, and it appears likely that they will, but if they do, and if they choose Mrs. Pelosi, knowing at that point that they're choosing the president of the United States, then it would be she."

Instacart 'tips' for workers went into company's pocket, DC Prosecutors says
WASHINGTON - A grocery delivery service that rose to prominence during thecoronavirus pandemic allegedly pocketed fees that customers thought were tips for their delivery drivers, according to a lawsuit launched by D.C.prosecutors.
AG Karl Racine’s office announced the lawsuit against Instacart on Thursday, alleging that the company violated District tax law and failed to collect “hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales taxes.”
They say the company listed a 10-percent “service fee” for delivery services on its website.

Governor Hogan Announces Maryland Selected for Workforce Development Pilot Program to Combat Opioid Epidemic
State Receives $4.6 Million in Federal Funding for New InitiativeMore Than 700 Marylanders To Participate In Program for Job Training and Recovery Services
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan announced Friday, that Maryland is one of only four states in the nation selected to participate in a new initiative to provide job training and other services to workers in communities significantly affected by the opioid crisis. The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded $4.6 million in funding to the Maryland Department of Labor for the new “Support to Communities: Fostering Opioid Recovery through Workforce Development” pilot program, which will address the health and economic impacts of widespread substance and opioid misuse, addiction, and overdose.
Governor Hogan and U.S. Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia discussed the new initiative during a call earlier this week.
"During Maryland's response to COVID-19, our administration has remained committed to combating the opioid and substance abuse crisis, which has affected far too many families and taken far too many lives across our state and our nation," said Governor Hogan. "This funding is another powerful tool we can use to support Marylanders in the communities hit hardest by the opioid epidemic. I had the chance to thank Secretary Scalia and discuss Maryland’s role in advancing this new national initiative.”
The Maryland Department of Labor will direct the awarded funds to seven diverse Local Workforce Areas, representing 14 jurisdictions across the state that have experienced negative social and economic impacts as a result of the opioid crisis. More than 700 Marylanders are anticipated to participate in the new pilot program, which will provide participants with job training and recovery services, leading to employment in 14 high-demand industries and occupations.
“Our department is very thankful to receive this funding from the U.S. Department of Labor, so we can continue to help Marylanders acquire the skills, tools, and support they need to overcome workforce challenges related to opioid and substance abuse,” said Secretary Tiffany Robinson of the Maryland Department of Labor. “This funding could not have come at a more critical time and will give those impacted by the opioid epidemic hope for a better tomorrow."
The 14 jurisdictions that will receive funds include Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Kent, Talbot, Queen Anne’s, and Washington counties and Baltimore City.
Subgrantee | Jurisdiction Served | Award Amount |
Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation | Anne Arundel | $500,000 |
Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development | Baltimore City | $1,400,000 |
Baltimore County Department of Economic and Workforce Development | Baltimore County | $646,519 |
Frederick Workforce Services | Frederick | $400,000 |
Susquehanna Workforce Network | Cecil, Harford | $500,000 |
Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board | Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot | $100,000 |
Western Maryland Consortium | Allegany, Garrett, Washington | $500,000 |
“Job skills training can have profound benefits for those embarking on the journey of recovery,” said Steve Schuh, Executive Director of Maryland’s Opioid Operational Command Center. “By creating opportunities for Marylanders to learn new job skills, we create opportunities for Marylanders to enhance their recoveries and unlock further successes.”
Since 2018, the Maryland Department of Labor has been awarded more than $7 million in federal funding to combat the opioid crisis through the use of innovative workforce strategies. Most recently, the department sub-granted nearly $500,000 to Maryland New Directions and PIVOT, two Baltimore-based non-profit organizations, to connect women impacted by the opioid crisis to occupational training, employment opportunities, and integrated supportive services.
Waking the Sleeping Giant
In recent weeks, not only have we seen some very large holes punched in the narrative of what happened to George Floyd, but we’ve also seen the very thin veil come off, as the “peaceful protests” by Black Lives Matter and Antifa rapidly devolved into perhaps the worst string of violent riots the country has ever seen. As of this writing, the city of Portland, Oregon has been host to violent riots for 86 days straight -- nearly three months of chaos.
As we all know, violence in the name of outrage (or really in the name of anything) is nothing new for the Left. No one is quicker to protest violence by smashing your face with a brick than the tolerant, loving Left. No one understands better than the Left that the way to fight perceived racism in America is with even stronger and more brazen racism. No one -- not even L. Frank Baum -- could construct a better Straw Man to rail against than the Left, and they've built one to rival Burning Man against President Trump (see Trump as racist, sexist, homophobe, Islamaphobe, et al).
