Border Patrol canine team seizes almost $4 million worth of methamphetamine
Officials at the Sierra Blanca Border Patrol Station in Texas seized nearly 118 pounds of liquid methamphetamine hidden on a bus earlier this month. The drugs are worth almost four million dollars.
The methamphetamine was discovered on May 3, when a Sierra Blanca Border Patrol agent and his canine partner found two suitcases in the lower luggage compartment of a bus at a checkpoint. The suitcases contained 90 plastic bottles weighing 118 pounds. The bottles were filled with liquid methamphetamine.
The search was conducted during immigration inspections of the passengers on board the bus. However, officials could not associate the narcotics with a passenger. The drugs were sent to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further processing.
Officials said that the discovery and seizure of the narcotics were the result of highly trained canines.

Camping World in North Carolina faces fines for hanging American flag due to its size
WASHINGTON (SBG) -- A Camping World location in Statesville, North Carolina is embroiled in a major controversy after being told by the city to remove their American flag due to its size.
Statesville, North Carolina is suing Camping World for allegedly violating regulations that state a flag which is 100 feet from the highway can't be more than 25 feet x 40 feet, WSOC reports. The news outlet also says that according to a lawsuit, the city gave Camping World an exemption to the rule. But the exemption wasn't the size Camping World desired.
"This is about more than just the flag. This is about our Veterans, Military, and the men and women that have sacrificed for this great country. They are the reason we fly the flag and they are the reason we will NOT take it down!" Camping World said in a Facebook postthat has been shared over 5,000 times.

Dressbarn to close all 650 locations in 'wind down' of retail operations
Dressbarn plans to close all of its approximately 650 locations in a "wind down" of its retail operation, the women's retailer announced Monday.
"For more than 50 years, Dressbarn has served women’s fashion needs, and we thank all of our dedicated associates for their commitment to Dressbarn and our valued customers," Steven Taylor, the company's chief financial officer, said in a press release.. "This decision was difficult, but necessary, as the Dressbarn chain has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today’s retail environment."
For now, all stores and the retailer's website will operate as usual. Customers will still be able to use Dressbarn-branded credit cards and there are, so far, no changes to the fashion retailer's return, refund or gift card policies.

BOOM! Eric Holder Body Slammed by Former Deputy Ind. Counsel Sol Wisenberg Over Attack on AG Barr
Sol Wisenberg, the former Deputy Independent Counsel under Ken Starr, fired off a late-Sunday night tweet that destroyed Obama Attorney General Eric Holder for attacking Attorney General William Barr as “not fit to lead the DOJ”.
Wisenberg called out Holder’s corrupt behavior in office from his service in the Obama presidency, including the Fast and Furious gun running to Mexican cartels scandal, to his tenure as Deputy Attorney General in the Clinton administration and his shepherding of the pardon for fugitive Marc Rich whose ex-wife Denise was a major Clinton donor (“Denise Rich had given more than $1 million[28] to Clinton’s political party (the Democratic Party), including more than $100,000 to the Senate campaign of the president’s wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and $450,000 to the Clinton Library foundation during Clinton’s time in office.[24] Wikipedia on the Marc Rich pardon)
Wisenberg nuked Holder, concluding by throwing his insult of Barr back in Holder’s face.

FACT CHECK: DO 61 PERCENT OF OVERDOSE DEATHS IN DELAWARE INVOLVE FENTANYL?
Democratic Sen. Chris Coons claimed on Twitter that 61 percent of the overdose deaths in his state involved the drug fentanyl.
Verdict: True
In 2017, 345 people died from drug overdoses in Delaware, according to the state’s Division of Forensic Science. Of these, 210 – or 61 percent – involved fentanyl. After Coons made the claim, numbers for 2018 were published that showed 74 percent of overdose deaths in the state involved fentanyl.
Fact Check:
Illicit fentanyl is an extremely potent synthetic opioid. Primarily sourced from China and Mexico, it has fueled the opioid crisis currently gripping the country.

How About Some “Adversity Points” For Hardworking Kids Of Hardworking Parents?
The latest tactic for the elite to shaft Normal Americans is the obnoxious “adversity score” that the academifascists who run the SATs plan to introduce as a way to give a fig leaf of objectivity and fairness to their screwing over of your kids in favor of the kids of people they prefer. Do you think there is any chance, and chance at all, that these secret numbers based upon secret factors and kept secret from you will make it more likely for your children to get into one of the elite schools?
Yeah, right.
If only someone had predicted this kind of social credit nightmare…
Now, we know for damn certain that the rock-bottom “adversity scores” of the pampered brats of the elite in politics, Hollywood, the media and the corporate boardrooms won’t hold them back. The elite’s gonna elite. We saw a few particularly dumb rich people get swooped up by the FBI, but for every past-prime starlet about to method act the role of a convict at a minimum security women’s prison, you know there are a hundred smarter, subtler wealthy cheats whose useless Ashleighs and Kadens are currently wandering the halls of Harvard, Yale and the other Skeevy League campuses, literally shaking because someone expressed a dissenting opinion.

NYC schools chancellor is accused of branding 'whiteness' as 'toxic' and pushing out white administrators
The chancellor of New York City's public schools has been accused of promoting the concept of 'toxic whiteness' by white administrators who are preparing to sue the city.
At least four top Department of Education executives, all white women who are veterans of the department, have signed on to file suit against the city in the coming weeks, a source told the New York Post.
'There's a toxic whiteness concept going on,' the source said, adding that the women believe they have been pushed out of roles of responsibility in favor of less qualified people of color.
Department insiders say that under Chancellor Richard Carranza, who was appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio, administrators are subjected to endless lectures and workshops critiquing 'whiteness' and attempting to root out 'white supremacy' in the workplace.

Gillibrand: Georgia's Heartbeat Abortion Law Is 'Against Christian Faith'
Late last week, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) — a candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination — condemned pro-life efforts to protect unborn babies as "against Christian faith." Specifically, she slammed Georgia's law protecting unborn babies from the moment a heartbeat may be detected in the womb. Rather than addressing serious science and faith concerns about the humanity of the unborn and the Christian tradition of defending life, Gillibrand defended abortion by referencing free will.
"If you are a person of the Christian faith, one of the tenants of our faith is free will. One of the tenants of our democracy is that we have a separation of church and state, and under no circumstances are we supposed to be imposing our faith on other people. And I think this is an example of that effort," the 2020 candidate said.
Gillibrand laid out a three-step abortion policy: federal legislation to codify abortion as a woman's right across the country, an end to the Hyde amendment, which protects taxpayers from funding abortion; and a guarantee of "reproductive health care" in every state — which likely will amount to coercing health care providers to perform abortions. She also promised to appoint judges and Supreme Court justices committed to defending Roe v. Wade (1973), the outdated decision striking down state laws protecting unborn life.

Progressive Demagogue-in-Training AOC Likes Billionaires After All
Never one to let consistency be the hobgoblin of her little mind, New York congresscritter Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seems to have done a 180 on the moral worth of billionaires.
Yesterday AOC noted on Twitter that "Every Morehouse Class of 2019 student is getting their student debt load paid off by their commencement speaker." For this kind of generosity, you'd think she could at least say his name: Robert F. Smith. Last year, according to Forbes, Smith became the richest African-American, surpassing Oprah. He made his money -- about five billion dollars worth of it -- in high-tech finance and private equity. Yesterday he added a new accolade to an already impressive list, by pledging to pay off the student loans of every 2019 Morehouse grad. AOC called it "the start of what’s known in Econ as a ‘natural experiment.’ Follow these students & compare their life choices w their peers over the next 10-15 years."
Indeed. Let's do that. While we're at it, maybe we should take a look at how college got so expensive in the first place. (Hint: Government tried to help make college more affordable, and unintended consequences ensued. Put government in charge of the Sahara desert, Milton Friedman noted, and you'll end up with a shortage of sand.)

Trump Takes on 2020 Democrat Frontrunners, and It's Not Pretty...
On Monday morning, President Donald Trump dismissed the two current Democratic frontrunners in the 2020 presidential race as "history" and the pick of China. He also suggested that former Vice President Joe Biden would have a hard time beating him, since voters elected Trump as a response to former President Barack Obama.
"Looks like Bernie Sanders is history," Trump's tweet began, referencing the openly socialist 2016 runner-up, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). "Sleepy Joe Biden is pulling ahead and think about it, I’m only here because of Sleepy Joe and the man who took him off the 1% trash heap, President O! China wants Sleepy Joe BADLY!"

Legacy of Light: Last-of-a-kind lighthouse shines over Chesapeake Bay
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Thomas Point Shoal Light is the last screw-pile lighthouse on its original foundation in the United States and the last lighthouse that Coast Guardsmen served in on the Chesapeake Bay
Until 1986, U.S. Coast Guardsmen served on the offshore light that is located south of Annapolis, Maryland’s state capital.
The unique hexagonal screw-pile lighthouse was constructed in 1875 and fixed to the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay using a technique developed by Alexander Mitchell, an Irish lighthouse designer. The world’s first screw-pile lighthouse was lit in England in 1840.
Today, the U.S. Coast Guard still maintains the Thomas Point Light but the lighthouse structure was transferred to the City of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, the Annapolis Maritime Museum and the U.S. Lighthouse Society in 2004. Named a National Historical Landmark in 1999, the Thomas Point Lighthouse is one of only 12 lighthouses in the U.S. to earn this high honor.
“The lighthouse marks the shoals at the entrance to Annapolis,” said Senior Chief Petty Officer John Kopp, the officer-in-charge of Aids to Navigation Team Baltimore, the team that maintains the light.
Kopp said the other Chesapeake Bay screw-pile lighthouses have been destroyed or moved to shore-side museums. A native of Philadelphia, Kopp leads the 20-person ATON team that maintains 508 primary Aids to Navigation, including six major lights and 42 range lights.

Trey Gowdy: FBI Withheld Exculpatory Evidence from FISA Court
On Sunday, Trey Gowdy, the former congressman and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, revealed during an interview on Fox News that the FBI withheld transcripts between George Papadopoulos and an FBI informant that have the "potential to be a game-changer." He characterized the transcripts as exculpatory evidence.
Gowdy believes that while people on both sides weren’t persuaded by the Mueller report, the transcripts he has seen have "the potential to actually persuade people.”
“There is some information in these transcripts that I think has the potential to be a game-changer if it's ever made public,” Gowdy told Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures.
Of course, the big question is why hasn't it been made public yet, and why wasn't it provided to the Mueller investigation team?

PUSH TO REPEAL GRAVITY KNIFE BAN GAINS MOMENTUM
City prosecutors’ changing stances and a recent court ruling appear to be shifting the balance toward lifting the state ban on so-called gravity knives.
This year marks Albany lawmakers’ third attempt to repeal the folding knives prohibition, which opponents argue punishes thousands annually for holding blades commonly sold in stores, carried for work and believed by many to be perfectly legal.
Gravity knives are defined by users’ ability to quickly flick open and lock using just one hand — a standard a federal judge recently ruled vague.
The Legal Aid Society, which analyzed gravity knife cases in the city from the first half of 2018, found that 85% of those arrested for possession were black or Latino.

Maryland Republican Party Passes Resolutions
The Maryland Republican Party adopted three resolutions during its convention at the Grand Hotel in Ocean City on Saturday.
The first resolution was a bylaw amendment that gave county parties more power to remove members if they are threatening other members with physical violence. Unfortunately, this is something that *has* occurred during recent years. The amendment passed with some amendments to the original proposal that ensured due process for members facing the removal process.
A second resolution urged Governor Larry Hogan to veto House Bill 1272, which prohibits the Department of Health accepting federal Title X funding if the Title X funding cannot be used for abortion. It also requires the state to fully fund the Department of Health to make up the difference if Title X fundings is not accepted. Basically, it guarantees that abortions would continue to be funded by the state. This resolution passed by a unanimous voice vote.

A Triumphant President: A Psychoanalyst’s Observations and Opinions
During the 2016 presidential campaign I was stunned and often revolted by Donald Trump’s aggressive and insulting verbal behavior and political tactics. His comments about Carly Fiorina’s face angered and disgusted me. At times, his ad hominem attacks on political opponents were beyond impolite. Such behaviors were harshly labeled as unpresidential by pundits.
As a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, I took note of Trump’s obvious narcissistic preoccupations and relentless insecurity about criticism. his impulsive, punching, and counter-punching Tweets that created social media chicken and egg dilemmas. Did Trump’s political Tweet-punches create the liberals’ and liberal media’s hatred of Trump and their incipient fake news attacks on Trump, or was Trump primarily asserting and righteously defending himself? In the long run both Trump and the mainstream media seemed to relish and profit from the combat. They have created and coauthored a modern American political reality TV world of P.T. Barnumesque proportions. Ordinary buttoned-up, focus group-prepared politicians seemed bland and colorless in comparison to Trump the outrageous bully.
I also noted Trump’s hypo-manic behavior and personality style. My earliest associations about Trump were to Teddy Roosevelt. Like a classic hypo-manic personality, Trump seems to need little sleep and demonstrates unending energy and drive.
Over time, however, I became fascinated and increasingly impressed with Trump’s successful campaign despite his blatantly unorthodox political tactics and narcissism.

Mark Meadows: Declassification of Russia investigation docs ‘right around the corner’
Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., said on Monday that the declassification of key documents related to the Russia investigation is "right around the corner."
In an interview with Fox News, Meadows said he spoke to President Trump about it recently.
“I think the delay is over,” Meadows said. “I think the president is serious. I’ve spoken to him recently and I think declassification is right around the corner, and hopefully, the American people will be able to judge for themselves.”
Meadows was asked to respond to a Fox News interview by former Rep. Trey Gowdy on Sunday in which he said transcripts between FBI informants and former Trump campaign associate George Papadopoulos have “the potential to be a game changer.”
“Gowdy has seen documents that actually I have not seen,” Meadows said. “But we have come to the same conclusion and that is, indeed, George Papadopoulos was actually taped and recorded.”

Public Assistance Sought In Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland To Identify Suspect Wanted In Cecil County Armed Home Invasion
(North East, MD) Maryland State Police continue to search in Maryland and neighboring states for one of numerous suspects wanted in connection with an armed home invasion in Cecil County.
Investigators believe the suspect pictured below, along with at least three others, was involved in an armed home invasion that occurred in an apartment complex in the North East area on April 25, 2019. Police believe the suspect(s) brandished handguns and violently assaulted a pregnant woman inside her apartment before fleeing the scene. Police do not believe this is a random act of violence.
Investigators are seeking the assistance of citizens in both Delaware and in Maryland to help identify the man pictured below. Citizens are urged to contact the Maryland State Police via phone at 410-996-7814 or 410-996-7800 with any information. The suspects in this case should be considered armed and dangerous.
Pete Buttigieg outs himself as a fake moderate
Pete Buttigieg is articulate, intelligent, and, at least on the surface, looking to reach across the aisle.
He has traveled the country during his campaign, saying things such as “freedom does not belong to one political party,” and “security is not a Left or Right issue." So it’s not exactly surprising that the media narrative surrounding Buttigieg’s insurgent presidential campaign has painted him as a moderate Democrat, a fresh but relatively safe alternative to the radicalism offered by candidates such as Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.
It’s too bad this narrative is a sham. On Thursday, Buttigieg finally updated his campaign website with a policy platform, and his issues page reads like a socialist’s Christmas list, betraying his image as a supposed moderate.
On healthcare, for example, Buttigieg is hardly any less radical than the other Democratic candidates. He all but endorses Sanders’ "Medicare for All" plan, which would require more than doubling federal income and corporate tax revenues to be affordable and abolish all private health insurance. Yet in his usual veneer of moderation, Buttigieg masks his support for socialized healthcare by calling for a Medicare buy-in, a public option that would, in his words, just be “a pathway to Medicare for All.”
Buttigieg also goes all in on a federal $15 minimum wage, even dubbing it a “security” issue.

Nolte: Academic Study Shows Donald Trump Has Made America LESS Racist
A study shows that racism has measurably decreased during President Trump’s time in the Oval Office, reports the Spectator.
Daniel J. Hopkins and Samantha Washington, two University of Pennsylvania sociologists, have been conducting a running study that measures the racial attitudes of 2,500 randomly selected Americans since 2008.
In their most recent report, the academics admit they expected to see an increase in racist opinions among the group, stating, “Normalization of prejudice or opinion leadership both lead us to expect that expressed prejudice may have increased in this period, especially among Republicans or Trump supporters.”

HERE’S HOW THE ASYLUM SYSTEM IS BEING EXPLOITED
Tens of thousands of apprehended migrants from the Central American countries driving the border crisis exploit loopholes in the immigration system by making false asylum claims, according to data, experts and surveys.
The loopholes allow “people with suspect asylum claims … to make their way into the interior of the United States and disappear,” one expert told The Daily Caller News Foundation. Data shows only about half of the migrants from those countries who claim asylum actually file a formal application after being let into the U.S.
Asylum is a status reserved for individuals who face persecution in their homeland, but less than 4% of migrants from the Northern Triangle countries of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras exclusively said they were fleeing violence, while 72% cited economic conditions as their sole reason for leaving, according to a 2017 survey of deported migrants by the Migration in the Southern Border of Mexico (EMIF).

Maryland, Virginia make Top 10 in US News Best States list
The folks at U.S. News & World Report have for years ranked states in categories such as health care, safety and more; for the third year, they’ve combined factors to pick the best states overall — and Virginia and Maryland came out near the top.
“Virginia moved up 13 spots from last year to No. 7, and Maryland moved up seven spots to No. 6,” said Tim Smart, the executive editor at U.S. News. “So they’re both in the Top 10 states for the first time.”
D.C., not being a state, wasn’t ranked.
The list was compiled through a combination of public and private data in a variety of categories, weighted based on surveys conducted by U.S. News on what people felt were the most important issues.

Elijah Cummings' wife may have gained 'illegal private benefit' from his committee activities
A charity run by the wife of Rep. Elijah Cummings received millions from special interest groups and corporations that had business before her husband’s committee and could have been used illegally, according to an IRS complaint filed by an ethics watchdog group.
Cummings, 68, a Maryland Democrat, is chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. His wife, Maya Rockeymoore, 48, is the chairman of the Maryland Democratic Party and briefly ran in the state's gubernatorial race last year. The couple married in 2008. Cummings was once heavily in debt — in part due to hefty child support payments to his first wife and two other women he had children with — but his financial situation has improved considerably over the past decade.
Rockeymoore runs two entities, a nonprofit group called the Center for Global Policy Solutions and a for-profit consulting firm called Global Policy Solutions, LLC, whose operations appear to have overlapped, according to the IRS complaint filed by watchdog group the National Legal and Policy Center on Monday. The complaint states that the arrangement may have been used to derive "illegal private benefit."

Men Receive 10-, 12-Year Sentences For Armed Robberies
SNOW HILL — Two suspects arrested last October for their roles in a pair of gunpoint robberies in Ocean City were convicted last week and sentenced to 10 and 12 years in prison, respectively.
Last week, Kevone Bunting, 19, of Georgetown, Del., pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and was sentenced on both counts to 10 years in prison with all but five years suspended. Similarly, Adrian Matthews, 21, of Seaford, also pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery for his role in the incidents and was sentenced on both counts to 12 years in prison with all but six years suspended.
The Worcester County Circuit Court judge presiding over the case made the sentences for each count consecutive, meaning Bunting will serve the full 10 years, while Matthews will serve the full 12 years. Another defendant in the case, Kiya Connor, 20, of Salisbury, pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy to commit robbery and sentencing in her case has been set for June 7. Another suspect, Brittney Taylor, 20, of Salisbury, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and was sentenced to five years with all but nine months suspended.
