In November, the New York Times revealed that Clinesmith was under criminal investigation for allegedly doctoring materials used to obtain renewals of the Carter Page surveillance warrant. Atlanta DA who charged officer with murder in the Rayshard Brooks case just lost his reelection bid

Democratic challenger Fani Willis wins runoff election

Voters in Georgia have ousted Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard — who charged two officers with murder in the Rayshard Brooks shooting earlier this summer — by a whopping 45-point margin.

Howard, a 20-plus-year incumbent and the first black district attorney elected in Georgia, lost his post to Democratic challenger Fani Willis in a runoff election Tuesday, WAGA-TV reported. Willis garnered 73% of the vote in a commanding victory over her former boss.

Howard conceded the race late Wednesday night saying, "I came in with pride and I'm leaving with pride," according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Willis vowed to bring "transparency and accountability" to the district attorney's office.

'Moderate' Kamala Harris Just Cosponsored Climate Legislation with AOC

Harris was ranked the 'most liberal' senator of 2019 by congressional watchdog

Sen. Kamala Harris cosponsored a climate bill with far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) just days before mainstream media outlets labeled the California Democrat a "moderate."

Harris on August 6 unveiled the Climate Equity Act with Ocasio-Cortez, which promises to "boldly address the climate crisis" by tackling "environmental racism." Some far-left groups lauded the legislation as setting the stage to eventually pass the Green New Deal, the freshman Democrat's $94 trillion overhaul of the economy and environmental policies.

Just days after Harris teamed up with Ocasio-Cortez, a number of prominent media outlets touted her status as a centrist Democrat following her selection as Joe Biden's running mate. TheNew York Times called Harris a "pragmatic moderate." A Washington Post political columnist labeled her a "small-c conservative." The Associated Press referred to her "relatively centrist record," and ABC's George Stephanopoulos said Harris "comes from the middle of the road, moderate wing of the Democratic party."

Yale Discriminates Against Asian, White Applicants, Justice Department Says

The Department of Justice has concluded that Yale University unlawfully discriminates against Asian and white applicants in its admissions process.

Eric Dreiband, the assistant attorney general for the DOJ's civil rights division, wrote in a letter Thursday that a federal probe showed race was a "predominate criteria" that dictated many admissions decisions at Yale. The department warned that it could sue the university if it continues to use race in admissions for the upcoming year.

The government's inquiry, which began in 2018 and is based on Yale's own data, shows that Asian and white applicants are significantly less likely to be admitted than students from "preferred racial groups" with similar qualifications.

"Yale’s race discrimination imposes undue and unlawful penalties on racially-disfavored applicants, including in particular Asian American and White applicants," Dreiband wrote. "For the great majority of applicants, Asian American and White applicants have only one-tenth to one-fourth of the likelihood of admission as African American applicants with comparable academic credentials."

The Department also accused Yale of racially engineering its admitted classes, saying the racial composition of its student body has been "remarkably stable for approximately the last decade."

War Memorial Blasts Amy McGrath for 'Prohibited' Campaign Rally

McGrath did not clear campaign rally with memorial

A war memorial in Kentucky admonished Democratic Senate candidate Amy McGrath for holding a campaign event at the site, saying, "political rallies have never been allowed."

Staff members at the Greenup County War Memorial immediately rebuked the Kentucky Democrat for exploiting the site for political purposes. Just hours after McGrath's Wednesday event, leaders said in a Facebook post the memorial "is a place to remember and celebrate veterans."

"It is not affiliated [with], nor does it support any political candidates or parties. Any political rallies are prohibited on the War Memorial property," officials said.

According to the Facebook post, McGrath did not contact the memorial prior to the event, which was held Wednesday afternoon.

"Political rallies are not allowed, and have never been allowed. We did not have prior knowledge of her coming or we would have told her prior to arrival that she could not hold a political rally at the memorial, as we have told other political parties," the post said.

Wannabe Tough Guy Attacks Hotel Employee Over Temperature Check, Gets The Tar Beat Out Of Him

There’s something about the swift fist of justice that just makes you smile your biggest smile.

Like when this would-be hotel guest threw an absolute fit about getting his temperature checked before entering the hotel. After all, there’s this little global pandemic going around and temperature checks have become pretty routine. Hell, I got my head scanned to get a cheeseburger the other day.

Anyways, tough guy almost leaves, but then has a sudden change of heart, goes full psycho and start picking up things to throw at our EXTREMELY patient hotel employee.

He takes a stanchion to the chest (ouch), a whole bottle of sanitizer to the ribs (again, ouch), and finally, would-be guest decides it’s time to drop the gloves and chuck knucks, you know… really see what hotel clerks are made of these days.

BIG MISTAKE.

Hotel guy takes a page out of the ol’ Bob Probert playbook, pulls the jacket over the head and rains down some vicious rights upside his head. His girl walks in (in no hurry whatsoever) and gets the guy out of there before his face can get rearranged completely.

Like I said, the swift fist of justice.

Florida girl’s mother shot and killed during first day of online class as teacher watches, police say

Officials said a bullet struck the student's computer while in a ZOOM call with her class

A 10-year-old Florida girl was beginning her first day of online school when her mother was shot to death by her ex-boyfriend at their home, investigators said Tuesday.

Donald Williams, 27, shot and killed 32-year-old Maribel Rosado Morales in front of her four children and their two cousins at her Indiantown home, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told reporters at a press conference, which was recorded by WPEC-TV.

The 'Silent Majority' Is Roaring For Trump, But the Media Ignores Them Completely

If one were to believe wholeheartedly in the America portrayed by social media and cable news, they would think that President Trump is loathed by most of the country and Joe Biden is looking at guaranteed victory in November.

News outlets have focused heavily on stories of civil unrest, protests, and looting in the past few months, framing a nation on the precipice of total fracture. Stories flood front pages about major cities voting to defund their own police department, even as murders and other violent crimes spike.

Each day, President Trump's words to the press and on social media are dissected and found wanting by his detractors. A daily snapshot of "trending topics" on Twitter shows a nation disgusted with their leader and the waning number of people who support him.

WATCH: Democrats Threatened Backlash If Biden Didn’t Choose A Black Woman For Vice President (VIDEO)

Democrat operatives have threatened backlash against Joe Biden and if he does not select a Black woman for his vice presidential running mate.

These are some statements people said, “Vice President Biden. You need us. You owe us.”

“America needs a black woman Vice President. Candidates like Amy Klobuchar will not energize us. America needs a black woman Supreme Court Justice.”

A field director for Richland County Democratic Party in South Carolina shares her thoughts on Biden picking a woman of color, “Well, you know, that’s been an interesting question and a lot of conversations surrounding that decision that Joe Biden made himself. You know, it was he himself who came out and said that his V.P. pick was going to be a woman and it was going to be a woman of color. And so it’s exciting. You know, while we’re all anticipating who that person is going to be. And we have a wealth of qualified candidates for him to choose from.”

Kamala Harris: Young People Are ‘Stupid’ — ‘They Make Really Bad Decisions’

Cable news pundits claimed on Tuesday night that Kamala Harris could help to motivate young voters, but a speech from 2014 may prove to make that objective more difficult.

During a speech to the Ford Foundation, the then-California Attorney General used young people as a punchline, saying they are “stupid” and that’s why they have to live with resident assistants in dormitories.

Harris was talking about drug offenders in the criminal justice system during her time as the San Francisco District Attorney and said, “What’s the other thing we know about this population? And it’s a specific phase of life. And remember, age is more than a chronological fact. What else do we know about this population, 18 through 24? They are stupid.”

The audience burst into laughter. The camera cut to one woman, though, who didn’t appear amused.

“That is why we put them in dormitories, and they have a resident assistant,” Harris continued.

“They make really bad decisions.”

During a Tuesday appearance on MSNBC, Dr. Jason Johnson said, Harris’s “challenge going forward, what the Democratic Party needs, they need somebody who’s going to make young people enthusiastic.”

OC Air Show: What You Need to Know

The OC Air Show is August 15-16, and visitors should expect many changes due to Covid-19. The show still promises to be exciting, but organizers are getting extra creative to ensure the safety of all patrons.

No Show Center or Premium Viewing Areas on the Beach

Event organizers originally planned to welcome patrons to the drop zone beach, flight line club, and sand boxes. These areas are closed. There will not be a public address system or a parachute landing zone. Plans to have patrons in these areas and the Show Center were approved by the local health department. However, on July 31, organizers and the Town of Ocean City were alerted by the state’s Attorney General’s Office and the Maryland State Police that the plans violated the current Covid-19 restrictions.

Brian Lilley, who serves as Chairman of the OC Air Show, spoke publicly to the Ocean City Mayor and Council about the projected revenue loss due to this last-minute change. Lilley estimated that the shortfall would be approximately $202,400. He asked members of the council to vote in favor of an additional $100,000 in funding, on top of the $35,000 they already provide each year. The council voted unanimously to approve the expenditure. The money comes from the Tourism Advisory Board (TAB), which is funded by room tax. Essentially, tourists are paying. This $100,000 is going to go a long way and will help to make the 2020 show as enjoyable as possible.

Video: Kamala Harris Once Laughed Hysterically After Joking About Killing President Trump

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) once made waves following an appearance on Ellen, where she laughed hysterically after joking about killing President Trump during a rapid-fire question session with host Ellen DeGeneres.

At the time of the appearance, April 2018, Harris remained mum on her presidential aspirations but answered a series of amusing questions about her first celebrity crush, nicknames, and the most “rebellious” thing she did as a teen. Then DeGeneres asked, “If you had to be stuck in an elevator with either President Trump, Mike Pence, or Jeff Sessions, who would it be?”

Harris looked away then responded, “Does one of us have to come out alive?” laughing hysterically at her own answer. The audience roared with laughter as DeGeneres put down her questions to clap her hands:

Mayor Lightfoot: Biden Key to Getting Gun Control for Chicago

During an August 12, 2020, appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) suggested Joe Biden is key to securing more gun control for Chicago and the rest of the country.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski played a clip of President Trump offering federal help to Chicago, wherein Trump said:

Together, the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois have 25,000 police officers, sheriffs, and guardsmen, available to quell any violence. They can do it very quickly, very easily, if allowed to do their jobs. All available federal support requested to stop the violence, and arrest the criminals, we have to be asked by the governors or the mayors and we’ll be there very rapidly.

Mayor Lightfoot responded, “Those are the words of somebody who doesn’t understand the first thing about local policing.”

She then pivoted to push for more gun control, suggesting the federal government needs to “pass common-sense gun reform, make sure that everybody has background checks, stop the availability of ‘assault weapons,’ people that are on a no-fly list shouldn’t be able to get weapons, the list goes on and on.”

Critics Question CARES Act Spending in Some States

Even as governors ask Congress for more pandemic relief money and more leeway to spend it, critics say some states are pushing the legal limits of how previous emergency federal aid can be spent.

South Dakota auditors are worried about a decision by Republican Gov. Kristi Noem’s administration to spend $4.7 million on state trooper salaries and benefits. Idaho county prosecutors are questioning Republican Gov. Brad Little’s plan to spend up to $200 million on local public safety budgets and property tax credits.

And West Virginia Democrats say Republican Gov. Jim Justice’s plan to spend upwards of $50 million on road repairs near health care facilities violates the spirit of the $150 billion Congress sent to states, counties and cities under the March Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act.

“The use of CARES Act funding to fix highways is absurd,” U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, Democrat of West Virginia, said of Justice’s plan in an emailed statement. “I’ve yet to meet a pothole that has the coronavirus. These funds should be used to help struggling West Virginians right now, not as some political slush fund.”

July Police Report Confirms Nearly Double Spike In Domestic Assaults

OCEAN CITY – While the total number of service calls decreased in the month of July, a report on police activity highlighted an increase in calls related to disorderly conduct, domestic incidents, and theft, among other things.

On Monday, Ocean City Police Chief Ross Buzzuro presented the Ocean City Police Commission with an update on police activity for the month of July.

Last month, officer calls for service decreased 30% – from 7,204 calls in July 2019 to 5,046 calls in July 2020 – and citizen calls for service increased 12.6%. In the top 25 calls for service, the department reported 1,075 911 hang ups, 857 calls to assist citizens and 1,320 calls for city ordinance violations.

“When we delve in a little deeper into the top 25 calls for service, the No. 1 call for service was city ordinance violation. Last year we were just under 3,000. This year there were 1,320, which is a decrease of 1,659,” Buzzuro said. “Probably the best reason for this is just the prioritization in activity. Officers have been busy spending time dealing with offenses going on with other incidents, prioritizing their enforcement efforts but not necessarily in terms of city ordinance violations.”

Boardwalk Redecking Project Delayed By Lumber Shortage

OCEAN CITY — Due to a nationwide shortage of treated lumber because of COVID-19, the first phase of the major re-decking project on the Boardwalk planned to begin this offseason has been pushed back a year.

Roughly every eight to 10 years, Ocean City’s wooden Boardwalk is completely replaced. The first phase was to begin this fall and be completed by the start of next season and the second phase was planned for the offseason in 2021.

However, City Engineer Terry McGean told the Mayor and Council on Tuesday he was recommending pushing the first phase back to next offseason and the second phase the following year.

“Most of you know our plan was to start re-decking the Boardwalk this offseason,” he said. “During our final preparations to solicit bids for the project, we made some phone calls and learned even if the suppliers could get the lumber at all, it would likely be twice the price. It’s a combination of the mills shutting down because of COVID and the high demand for lumber.”

Wis. State Agency requires employees to wear masks while Teleconferencing

A Wisconsin state agency has required employees to wear masks while teleconferencing from home, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

A July 31 email sent to employees by the state’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reportedly reminded them that Gov. Tony Evers’s (D) mask mandate went into effect the next day.

Natural Resources Secretary Preston Cole said in the email that staff has to wear masks in DNR buildings and in virtual meetings, according to the Journal Sentinel.

“Also, wear your mask, even if you are home, to participate in a virtual meeting that involves being seen — such as on Zoom or another video-conferencing platform — by non-DNR staff,” Cole reportedly wrote. “Set the safety example which shows you as a DNR public service employee care about the safety and health of others.”

The governor’s mask order requires face coverings to be worn in indoor public spaces, and does not include residencies.

Portland Prosecutor will drop most Criminal Charges against ANTIFA Rioters

Impunity to commit crimes.

Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt confirmed that his office plans to drop criminal charges pending against a majority of the Portland rioters on Tuesday, establishing de facto immunity for ANTIFA militants to commit a wide range of riot crimes in the city.

Leftist rioters charged with interfering with police, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, escape or harassment will not be criminally prosecuted, unless they’re accused of offenses that involve “deliberate” property crimes, theft, or the use of force against another person.

“What we’re doing is recognizing that the right to speak and have your voice heard is extremely important,” said Schmidt at a Tuesday press conference, hailing the leftist street criminals who have terrorized the community and attacked a federal courthouse for weeks on end. “If you’re out there committing violence, you’re damaging property, those cases are going to be prosecuted. If you’re a person who is out there demonstrating and you get caught up in the melee, those are the kinds of cases that we’re talking about.”

NFL won't have live National Anthem Performances, may bar Military, Police?

The NFL won't have any live performances of the national anthem before games this season, as it reportedly attempts to limit the number of people with access to the field to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, according to Front Office Sports.
The tradition of having performers sing the national anthem before games has become a source of controversy due to social justice protests. Although the anthem won't be performed live, there will still be recordings of the song played before the game.
The NFL could also limit the presence of military and police honor guards on the field. Those groups are often a part of the national anthem ceremony at games.
While there may be less ceremony surrounding the national anthem in the NFL in 2020, there will be more in the way of social justice protests and signs of support for anti-racism initiatives. From ESPN's The Undefeated:
"Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing," traditionally known as the Black national anthem, is expected to be performed live or played before every Week 1 NFL game, and the league is considering a variety of other measures during the upcoming season to recognize victims of police brutality, a source familiar with the league's discussions told The Undefeated on Thursday.

The song would be performed before "The Star-Spangled Banner," the source said. The NFL's season opener is scheduled for Sept. 10, with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans.

Having recently displayed increased awareness about the problems of systemic racism, the NFL, in collaboration with the NFL Players Association, is also considering listing the names of victims on uniforms through decals on helmets or patches on jerseys. The NFL also may produce educational programs about victims, among other plans.
The NFL will also place social justice messages in the end zones during Week 1 instead of the typical team brand imagery, including "End Racism" and "It Takes All of Us."

Easton police said Travis K. Brooks, 35, of Trappe, Maryland, was arrested Tuesday on charges of second-degree rape, third- and fourth-degree sex offense, abuse of a vulnerable adult and second-degree assault.

Authorities began an investigation in April after Easton police were called to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center for a theft report, news outlets reported.

Officers were told that a patient had money stolen from her wallet while having a procedure done.

WAYNE ROOT: Kamala Harris is the Perfect Choice for VP

Kamala? Really? Well one thing is clear: Michelle said “NO.” Maybe even “Hell NO.”

Don’t get me wrong. Kamala Harris is the perfect choice for Basement Biden’s VP…if your only criteria is “black female.”

Because other than that, Kamala offers nothing to Biden. As in zero. Zip. Nada. The Kamala Harris VP choice is one of the great head scratchers in presidential political history. It just doesn’t make sense.

Except, of course, Biden wanted and needed a “black female.” Remember only 24 hours before announcing Kamala as his VP choice, 100 black male leaders from the fields of politics, business and entertainment, sent Biden a letter demanding a “black female” VP choice, or he’d surely lose election.

Enter Kamala. She’s certainly got the credentials…if your only criteria is “black female.”

Willie Brown admits it: Kamala Harris slept her way to the top

Editor's note:

American Thinker normally does not reprint previously published material, but this morning, we are making an exception, owing to the level of interest in Kamala Harris and her political career, which began, as Howie Carr quipped, "working under Willie Brown."

The item below was originally published January 27, 2019.

* * * *

Kamala Harris, that vaunted self-righteous feminist candidate who's using her 'year of the woman' chops to challenge President Trump in 2020, has a little problem: She slept her way to the top.

You know, the mistress thing, not exactly moving on up based on hard work or merit, that little advantage of good looks (President Obama called her the 'best-looking' state attorney general), employed to their optimal practical use. Her political patron, former lawyer to pimps, Mayor of San Francisco, and State Assembly Speaker Willie Brown, admitted he helped her get her political start, writing in his bloggy San Francisco Chronicle column:

Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.

And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco. I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a host of other politicians.

No, Kamala Harris Isn’t A ‘Moderate’ — She’s A Radical Threat To America

The media are spinning Kamala Harris as a 'centrist' and a 'moderate.' In reality, she's a leftist who could be one heartbeat away from the Oval Office.

Once Joe Biden named Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate for the upcoming 2020 election, it didn’t take long for the media to begin its latest attempt to gaslightAmericans.

In the Associated Press announcement of Biden’s choice, AP writers Kathleen Ronayne and Will Weissert write approvingly of Harris’s “centrist record” as a contributing factor in the decision. Longtime political analyst and lobbyist Doug Schoen praised Biden’s pick while arguing Harris “could help Biden solidify his position among centrist voters and even moderate Republican voters.”
