A Snow Hill Volunteer, Mr Bill Williams passed away this morning. Mr Bill was very dedicated to the company. He joined the Department on Dec 2 1952. He completed both Fire and EMS training at college park starting in 1954. He was very active on both FIRE and EMS sides.
After completing the training for himself, Mr Bill was an "advanced first aid instructor" and taught a lot of people in Worcester County starting in 1960. Mr Bill was the first Rescue Squad Captain (now days known as EMS Captain) for the company. He would answer 911 calls from his house via phone which his wife would monitor.
Mr Bill was elected to Chief Engineer the first time in June 1970. He sat on a committee to buy a 1971 Maxim and a 1992 E-ONE engine which is pictured below. People loved when Mr Bill was there to engineer because you could always count on him to get you water and always have water.

Suspicious Person Complaint Leads to Burglary and Weapon Arrests
Rehoboth Beach, DE – Troopers have arrested a homeless subject on burglary and weapons charges after a security company observed him acting suspiciously at a bank ATM.
The incident happened around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday July 7, 2015, when troopers responded to a suspicious person complaint at the Applied Bank located at 37012 Country Club Road. Information was received through a security company monitoring the bank through closed circuit cameras that a male subject was walking back and forth from his car to the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) acting in a suspicious manner. Upon the troopers’ arrival, contact was made with Chaise Darley, 27, who is reportedly homeless but originally from Portsmouth, Virginia. When he was initially asked for identification, he denied having any form of I.D. on him. He informed the troopers that he had some in his vehicle which was parked in the parking lot and upon opening the door, troopers observed numerous credit cards on the driver’s seat. As Darley began reaching into the vehicle, he was immediately told to exit the vehicle so the trooper could conduct a pat-down search for any weapons.
Store Owner: Ariana Grande Spit On My Doughnuts And Lowered My Health Rating
Police and health officials are now investigating after security footage leaked earlier this week showing Ariana Grande and her boyfriend repeatedly licking the doughnuts a California shop.
The owner of Wolfee Donuts said the health department lowered his health rating after the incident.
“One of the trays, yeah, she was licking on them and the other trays, she spit on them,” Joe Marin said. “I got a ‘B’ today. I’ve been open for six years since 2009, and it’s always been an ‘A.'”

Seattle bans smoking outside
(REUTERS) — Smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products in Seattle’s parks became illegal on Monday, as the U.S. Pacific Northwest’s largest city joined other American metropolises in restricting puffing in public.
Seattle’s Parks and Recreation officials voted in May to ban smoking in all of its 465 parks. It had previously required smokers to maintain 25-feet minimum distances from other visitors in any publicly accessible park land, the city said.
On Monday, the city, on its website, encouraged park goers to “smell flowers, not smoke.”
The ban follows similar restrictions in more than 1,000 other U.S. cities and communities across the nation, including New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland, the city said.
Cities have pursued the ban as the dangers of cigarette smoking became more widely accepted, and because of cigarette butt litter.

They Want To Use ‘Hate Speech Laws’ To Destroy Freedom Of Speech In America
Hate speech laws are going in all around the world, and progressive activists in the United States want to use these kinds of laws to destroy free speech in America. You see, the truth is that these hate speech laws that are being implemented all over the planet are not just about preventing speech that promotes violence or genocide against a particular group of people. Instead, these laws are written in such a way that anyone that says something that “offends” or “insults” someone else is guilty of “hate speech." Even if you never intended to offend anyone and you had no idea that your words were insulting, in some countries you can be detained without bail and sentenced to years in prison for such speech. Today, there are highly restrictive hate speech laws in Canada, in Mexico and in virtually every single European nation. The United States is still an exception, but the truth is that our liberties and freedoms are being eroded every single day, and it is only a matter of time until “hate speech laws” are used to take away our freedom of speech too.
If you don’t think that this could ever happen in America, you should consider what the American Bar Association has to say on the matter. This is the national organization that represents all of our lawyers, judges, etc. So when the ABA speaks on legal matters, it carries a significant amount of weight. The following is how the American Bar Association defines “hate speech”…
Hate speech is speech that offends, threatens, or insults groups, based on race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or other traits.
Did you catch that?

REPORT: 45 ISIS FIGHTERS KILLED BY POISONED RAMADAN MEAL
Reports surfaced from Iraqi media on Tuesday that 45 Islamic State (ISIS/IS/ISIL) jihadis were killed after ingesting an iftar meal commemorating the conclusion of Ramadan. It remains unclear whether the jihadis, who were breaking their Ramadan fast in Mosul, Iraq, died of food poisoning or intentional poisoning, Haaretz reports.
A Kurdish Democratic Party spokesman said that 145 ISIS militants took part in the iftar meal and that 45 died shortly thereafter.
ISIS fighters have fallen under a similar trap before, according to reports from other Middle East outlets.

Jimmy Carter Openly and Proudly Condemns the Words of Jesus Christ Himself
Former President Jimmy Carter made an admittedly baseless statement on Tuesday when he claimed that he believed Jesus Christ would approve of same-sex marriage, granting that he didn’t have “any verse in Scripture” to support this idea.
“I believe he would. I believe Jesus would. I don’t have any verse in Scripture,” Carter responded when asked by HuffPo Live host Mark Lamont Hill whether Christ would embrace same-sex nuptials.
“I believe that Jesus would approve of gay marriage, but I’m not — that’s just my own personal belief,” he said.
Instead of studying the issue out by examining the Bible, Carter chose to use the conventional wisdom of our declining culture to support his claim.
The one-term Democrat president continued by saying that he believed Jesus “would encourage … any love affair that was honest and sincere.”

OPM Head Has No Tech Or Cyber-Security Experience, Won’t Resign
More than 21.5 million current and former federal employees had their personal information hacked from the Office of Personnel Management, including the fingerprints of everyone who has applied for a security clearance. The director of OPM, Katherine Archuleta, has refused to resign, saying she is “committed” to repairing the historic data breach.
But Archuleta has no background in tech or cyber-security. In the official White House press release on her first day, Archuleta was heralded as “the first Latina” to run the OPM and someone who “[w]ith her breadth of experience as an educator, public administrator, and community leader, Katherine Archuleta possesses an abundance of skills to bring talented people together with different ideas and fresh perspectives to strengthen our federal workforce.”
The release focused mainly on Archuleta’s history of political appointments, in the Clinton and Obama administrations, and diversity.

‘The View’ Host Gasps When Actress Reveals Opinion on Bakery That Refused to Make Cake for Gay Wedding
When actress Candace Cameron Bure defended the Christian owners of an Oregon bakery who refused to make a cake for a gay wedding on “The View” Tuesday, an apparent audible gasp from one of the co-hosts immediately followed.
Discussing the divisive case, the former “Full House” star revealed she doesn’t think what the bakery did amounts to “discrimination.” It quickly became clear she was outnumbered on the issue.
“This is about freedom of association, it’s about constitutional rights, it’s about First Amendment rights,” she added. “We do have the right to still choose who we associate with.”

Governor Larry Hogan Establishes Regulatory Reform Commission
Streamlining Government to Stimulate Businesses and Create Jobs
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today signed Executive Order 01.01.2015.20 establishing the Regulatory Reform Commission. This commission, consisting of two co-chairmen and currently 10 members, will conduct a comprehensive review of Maryland’s regulatory climate in an effort to identify problems that could potentially impact Maryland’s business environment. Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford will serve as an ex officio member of the commission. Additional members could potentially be added to the commission.
"For years, over-burdensome and out of control regulations were making it impossible for businesses to stay in Maryland," said Governor Hogan. "We promised a top to bottom review of all state regulations and policies to make sure that Maryland could once again operate under a fair, accountable and balanced regulatory climate. This Commission will look to see what regulations have outlived their usefulness, have failed to accomplish their objectives, or are so poorly written, implemented, or interpreted that they cause much more harm than good."
Public meetings in various regions of the state will be conducted to study the impact of Maryland’s regulatory climate on the business community, relevant stakeholders and the public. Various sectors will be reviewed and analyzed including, but not limited to transportation, environment and land use, health care, business occupations and licensing, banking and financial services, capital formation insurance, labor and employment, agriculture, and tourism.

ISIS Celebrates #LoveWins With Grisly Display
There were many strong reactions and more than a few wild celebrations following the recent Supreme Court ruling declaring same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states. Among the strongest reactions to the ruling had to be that of the terror group ISIS.
While many across the globe celebrated SCOTUS’ landmark decision supporting gay rights, ISIS reportedly lined up four gay men on the roof of a five-story building in Deir ez-Zor, Syria before sending them plunging to their deaths.
In a video posted on the Daily Mirror website, you can watch as hundreds of spectators, including children, gather beneath a building. Gasps of shock and horror can be heard coming from the crowd as the four men are thrown from the roof and their bodies collect on the ground in a grisly pile.

O’Malley Cites Satirical Article In Major Campaign Document
Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley’s campaign recently released a major white paper on how he would reign in financial institutions had a huge mistake: the first source it cited was a satirical news article.
In the white paper, the O’Malley campaign cited an article titled “Eric Holder Takes $77 Million Job With JPMorgan Chase” by the satirical news site, The Daily Currant. Buzzfeed reporter Andrew Kaczynski pointed out the gaff, and that the O’Malley campaign quickly removed The Daily Currant citation.

Secret White House Gay Wedding Revealed
Before the White House was bathed in rainbow light to celebrate the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize gay marriage nationwide, a secret gay wedding was conducted in the building by former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett.
Lovett, who worked for Obama during his first term, reveals that he used his White House privileges to sneak in a pair of gay men under the guise of giving them a tour, then performed a wedding ceremony in the Rose Garden without the knowledge of the president.
“We were very nervous. They were nervous because they were getting married. I was nervous because I snuck into my boss’ house to perform a wedding against his wishes in his backyard,” he said. “You can say what you will about the first same-sex marriage at the White House, at the very least, it was quite rude.”

Dangerous #SunBurnArt Is Taking Over Social Media
Sunburn art is a visible tan line purposely burnt into the skin in a unique pattern. While the practice of creating sunburn art is nothing new, the trend has quickly taken social media by storm these past few weeks, much to the dismay of dermatologists everywhere.
Sunburn art is obtained by purposely covering up only one part of your body by either drawing shapes on the body with sunblock or adhering shaped stickers. "While it may be entertaining, it is intentionally exposing your skin to harmful ultraviolet radiation," explained Dr. Thomas Rohrer, a dermotologist who recently spoke about the trend with CBS.
Unfortunately, like many potentially dangerous trends, such as the Eraser Challenge andCinnamon Challenge, sunburn art isn’t exactly new but has profoundly increased in popularity due to the widespread reach of social media. Tanning is dangerous no matter how flattering the glow may be. According to Dr. Deborah S. Sarnoff, sunburns can cause specific DNA damage to the skin, accelerate skin aging, and increase your lifetime risk of skin cancer.

Child's Mysterious Paralysis Tied to New Virus
Mysterious cases of paralysis in U.S. children over the last year have researchers searching for the cause of the illness. Now, a new study suggests that a new strain of a poliolike virus may be responsible for some of the cases.
So far, more than 100 children in 34 states have suddenly developed muscle weakness or paralysis in their arms or legs, a condition known as acute flaccid myelitis, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Previously, researchers linked a virus called enterovirus D68 (EV-D68), which can cause respiratory illness similar to the common cold, with some of these cases.
But only about 20 percent of children with paralysis tested positive for EV-D68, and even in these cases, it wasn't clear if EV-D68 was the cause of the child's condition. [Top 10 Mysterious Diseases]

Heroin Use in US Reaches Epidemic Numbers
Heroin overdose deaths in the United States nearly quadrupled between 2002 and 2013, fueled by lower costs as well as increased abuse of prescription opiate painkillers, U.S. health officials said on Tuesday.
The report found that heroin use increased by 63 percent from 2002 to 2013. In 2013, roughly 517,000 people reported that they had used heroin in the last year, a 150 percent increase from 2007. As many as 8,200 people died from heroin overdoses in 2013 alone.
Such medicines, which include Vicodin, OxyContin and Percocet, increase individuals’ susceptibility to heroin addiction, Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told Reuters.

Republicans Face Uphill Fight in Blocking an Iran Deal
Republicans know they'll face an uphill fight in an effort to kill the upcoming nuclear containment deal with Iran, even with a law passed in May that allows Congress to weigh in on the agreement, because President Barack Obama will likely be able to get the 34 votes he needs in the Senate to sustain a veto.
"Clearly, it's going to be challenging," New Hampshire Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte told Politico.
And Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., the only senator to vote against the Iran review bill, said on Tuesday that he opposed the measure because it gives the "illusion of oversight without oversight."
That is, Cotton said, the review law leaves it up to Congress to gather enough votes to prevent a veto, rather than requiring the administration to attract enough votes to approve the agreement, as would be normally done with a treaty.
"It didn’t give Congress much power that’s beyond our inherent authority," Cotton said of the May law. "If that act was not law, we could still pass legislation with a veto-proof majority to block the deal from moving forward."

Illegal Immigrants Accounted for Nearly 37 Percent of Federal Sentences in FY 2014
While illegal immigrants account for about 3.5 percent of the U.S population, they represented 36.7 percent of federal sentences in FY 2014 following criminal convictions, according to U.S. Sentencing Commission data obtained by Breitbart News.
According to FY 2014 USSC data, of 74,911 sentencing cases, citizens accounted for 43,479 (or 58.0 percent), illegal immigrants accounted for 27,505 (or 36.7 percent), legal immigrants made up 3,017 (or 4.0 percent), and the remainder (about 1 percent) were cases in which the offender was either extradited or had an unknown status.
Broken down by some of the primary offenses, illegal immigrants represented 16.8 percent of drug trafficking cases, 20.0 percent of kidnapping/hostage taking, 74.1 percent of drug possession, 12.3 percent of money laundering, and 12.0 percent of murder convictions.
One GOP aide expressed shock at the numbers, emailing Breitbart News, “These statistics blew me away, and they blow a hole through the oft-repeated line that people only want to come to America to work.

Fraud Crackdown Sends Illegal Immigrant Licenses Plummeting In NM
A crackdown on document fraud has sent the number of driver's licenses issued to illegal aliens in New Mexico plunging by 70 percent, while revealing that the state likely issued tens of thousands of bogus licenses after becoming the first state to adopt the controversial policy a dozen years ago.
Last year, New Mexico issued 4,577 licenses to foreign nationals, down sharply from the 2010 high of about 15,000. Officials in the administration of Gov. Susana Martinez, who opposes the policy but has been unable to get it repealed, say the huge drop came as soon as new procedures were implemented to identify fraudulent documents that had been submitted to obtain licenses.
Although it is impossible to say how many licenses were issued fraudulently, Republican State Rep. Bill Rehm, a retired county sheriff's officer, said more than 100,000 driver’s licenses have been issued to illegal immigrants, but only about 17,000 have filed a state income tax.
“These people enter the country illegally, then obtain a driver’s license through fraud and lies,” Rehm said. “We sparked a whole criminal industry by allowing this.”

Obama Faces Tough Appeals Panel in Bid to Loosen Immigration
The Obama administration has a chance to build on health care and gay marriage victories before the Supreme Court when it urges an appeals court to let 5 million undocumented immigrants stay in America. But it's a slim chance.
On Friday, the White House will face long odds as it seeks to persuade a panel of judges to let President Barack Obama's effort to loosen immigration restrictions take effect. Two of the three are Republican appointees who rejected a similar administration bid.
“Those two judges have already expressed their doubts,” said Sidney Powell, a Dallas attorney who has appeared for two decades before the U.S. Court of Appeals in New Orleans, where the case will be heard. “I’d be surprised if they changed their minds at this point.”

China Heading For Stock Market Crash?
While all Western eyes remain firmly focused on Greece, a potentially much more significant financial crisis is developing on the other side of world. In some quarters, it’s already being called China’s 1929 – the year of the most infamous stock market crash in history and the start of the economic catastrophe of the Great Depression.
In any normal summer, a 30 percent fall in the Chinese stock market – a loss of value roughly equivalent to the UK’s entire economic output last year – after an ascent which had seen share prices more than double within the space of a year would have been front page news across the globe.
The dramatic series of government interventions to stem the panic – hitherto unsuccessful, it should be added – would similarly have been up there at the top of the news agenda. Yet the pantomime of the Greek debt talks, together with the tragi-comedy of will they, won’t they leave the euro, has relegated the story to little more than a footnote - even though 940 companies, more than a third, have now suspended trading on China’s two main indices.
The parallels with 1929 are, on the face of it, uncanny.

Sessions: City Officials Harboring Illegal Immigrant Felons Could Be Charged With Crime
WASHINGTON — Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions told The Daily Caller Tuesday that city officials that defy federal immigration laws could be charged with crime for not informing officials about felons the city is harboring.
“I guess you could make it a crime. I’m not aware that it is a crime, but they could be charged. There may be something in the code. To me, it’s just unthinkable — as United States attorney I had a bunch of cities and every day holds are filed. So many criminals have committed crimes in multiple jurisdictions,” Sessions said.
Sessions remarks comes on the heels of the shooting of Kathryn Steinle, a 32-year-old who died last Wednesday after a five-time deported Mexican national, Francisco Sanchez, fatally shot Steinle in San Francisco.
San Francisco, known for its decades-old sanctuary city status, only allows holds on felons with violent records. Sanchez, according to local reports had multiple felonies but no major violent crime convictions in recent years.

Gowdy: Hillary Had Three Subpoenas, Two Before Server Was Wiped
Representative Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) said Hillary Clinton actually had three subpoenas, two of which were sent before her server was wiped on Wednesday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show.”
Gowdy was asked, “‘I’ve never had a subpoena,’ her words. Congressman Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), did Hillary Clinton lie yesterday?” He answered, “It is a fact that there was a subpoena issued to her in March of 2015. But Congressman, it’s also a fact that there was a subpoena in existence from another Congressional committee far before that one. So there are two subpoenas. There are letters from Congress. And there’s a statutory obligation to her to preserve public records.” And “There was a, — think back right after Benghazi, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) wrote a letter to Secretary Clinton, in fact, saying Congress has the right and the authority to investigate these attacks. That is tantamount to a ‘do not destroy’ request. Also keep in mind, Congress wrote her directly when she was Secretary of State and asked her specifically, ‘Do you ever use personal email?’ She never answered that question. She never said yes, she never said no. All right, fast forward. The Oversight Committee is looking into Benghazi. They issued a subpoena to the State Department to bring certain documents over to Congress so we can inspect them. It is that subpoena that ultimately led the State Department to give us the first eight emails we got from her.” Gowdy then said this subpoena was sent in 2013.

Judge Threatens Contempt Charges Against DHS Chief, Others
HOUSTON — A federal judge in Texas has threatened to hold Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and other top immigration enforcement officials in contempt of court for not fixing problems that led to work permits being mistakenly awarded under President Barack Obama’s executive immigration action after the judge had put the plan on hold.
The Justice Department had said about 2,000 individuals had been sent three-year work authorizations after U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen in Brownsville, Texas, temporarily blocked the immigration action on Feb. 16.
In a court order Tuesday, Hanen said government officials have yet to fix the problem. The judge also requested Johnson and four other officials attend an Aug. 19 hearing to explain why the issue hasn’t been fixed and to “be prepared to show why he or she should not be held in contempt of court.”
“This court has expressed its willingness to believe that these actions were accidental and not done purposefully to violate this court’s order. Nevertheless, it is shocked and surprised at the cavalier attitude the government has taken with regard to its ‘efforts’ to rectify this situation,” Hanen wrote.

Baltimore FOP Review Finds BPD Riot Response Was "Inadequate"
The Baltimore City Fraternal Order Of Police Lodge #3 After Action review has found that the Baltimore Police Department's response was inadequate due to lack of leadership, equipment, and training of officers.
"Decisions implemented by top commanders of the Baltimore Police department left officers in harm's way. Equally as important, the lack of preparation put the very citizens that we're sworn to protect in harm's way as well," President Gene Ryan states.
The investigation found that the Baltimore City Police Department was not prepared for the riots and is not prepared if it happens again.

Police Deny Brutal Beating of White Man by Black Mob Was Racially Motivated
Report originally stated incident was "anti-white" attack
New video out of Cincinnati shows a black mob viciously beating and choking a white man, but police have distanced themselves from an initial explanation that the incident was an “anti-white” attack.
The altercation began in Fountain Square on Saturday night at around 11pm shortly after a music concert and 4th of July fireworks.
The video shows several black teens punching and choking 27-year-old Christopher McKnight, while another individual wearing a red t-shirt appears to be attempting to deter the attackers.
McKnight suffered serious internal injuries and was taken to hospital. Riot police later arrived on the scene and arrested seven young men. Two officers and a bystander were injured during the unrest.

Mayor: ‘An Awful Lot Of Discussion’ Before OC Zoning Change Approved
OCEAN CITY – As promised, members of the Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) made their opposition to a proposed new zoning district known this week, sparking Mayor Rick Meehan to respond to those concerns.
CAR members, rental management companies and property owners gathered at Monday evening’s Mayor and City Council regular session to demonstrate their opposition to the recommended establishment of an R-1A Single Family Residential District in Ocean City that would prohibit rentals less than 12 months.
At the end of last summer, Ocean City experienced a growing number of rental concerns and complaints, with the majority of those complaints deriving from Mallard Island. At that time, the Planning and Zoning Commission held public hearings to consider a potential amendment to the City Code regarding the R-1 Single Family Residential District and MH Mobile Home Residential District in regulating short-term and long-term rentals.

George Bush charged $100k to be at event for veterans wounded in the Iraq war
George W Bush charged a charity $100,000 to guarantee his attendance at a fundraiser for military veterans wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq, it has been reported.
The former president was also flown from Dallas to Houston by private jet and provided accommodation, which added $70,000 to Helping A Hero's bill, the charity told ABC News.
It transpires the extortionate fee was in fact a reduced rate, bartered down from $250,000.
And a year earlier, his wife former First Lady Laura Bush received $50,000 from the charity to make an appearance.

The biggest and most disruptive layoffs in America are coming from the military
The Army has already discharged 80,000 troops. The next 40,000 will be harder, especially for the communities that depend on them.
The Iraq war was good for the economy of Jefferson County, N.Y. Perhaps too good.
“We had to grow, and grow quickly,” says Carl McLaughlin, executive director of the Fort Drum Regional Liaison Organization, which supports the military base that has been there since the mid-1980s. "Because the community wants to keep Fort Drum here, and it wants to show we’re very supportive, it did a lot of things that were over the top."
As troops poured into the Army base at Fort Drum, the rural area developed at a breakneck pace. With help from state tax breaks, developers built 3,800 units of brand-new housing and 600 hotel rooms. Troops depended on the local hospital system, which received $100 million in upgrades. The school system took on thousands more students. In an area where the last big industry — paper mills — had disappeared decades ago, the infusion of people and cash was welcome.

Study: New Strain Of Polio-Like Virus Leading To Paralysis In Children
A new strain of a polio-like virus may be leading to paralysis in children.
LiveScience reports more than 100 children in 34 states mysteriously developed muscle weakness or paralysis in their arms or legs. This condition is known as acute flaccid myelitis, but researchers previously linked a virus called enterovirus D68 with some of the cases.
Only 20 percent of children with paralysis, though, tested positive for EV-D68, and it wasn’t clear if that virus was behind the child’s paralysis.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducted a study in October 2014 of a 6-year-old girl who was examined at the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital for “acute onset of progressive right upper extremity weakness.” The little girl was previously healthy before falling ill.
The study linked the girl’s condition to a virus known as enterovirus C105. It was first detected in patients from Peru and the Republic of Congo in 2010.
Enterovirus C species includes the polioviruses.

Fired Police Commissioner Speaks Out
Hours after he was fired as Baltimore's police commissioner, Anthony Batts sent a short statement to the Baltimore Sun.
"I've been honored to serve the citizens and residents of Baltimore," Batts was quoted as telling the newspaper. "I've been proud to be a police officer for this city."
On Wednesday afternoon Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced that Batts had been terminated, and that she has installed Kevin Davis, Batts' former deputy, as interim commissioner. The shakeup, announced amid a spike in violent crime in Baltimore, comes 2 1/2 months after the city broke out into riots following the death of a man injured in police custody.
Anthony Batts was notified that he had been fired as Baltimore police commissioner just 15 minutes before a press release announcing the mayor's decision was sent to the media.

New Documents Show Extensive Collaboration Between IRS, DOJ to Criminally Prosecute Conservative Groups
Last year emails revealed former IRS official Lois Lerner was in contact with the Department of Justice Criminal Division about criminally prosecuting conservative tea party groups for pursuing political activity (opposed to President Obama's agenda) by "posing" as non-profit organizations.
Now, new documents obtained by government watchdog Judicial Watchthrough two different Freedom of Information Act lawsuits show extensive collaboration between the IRS and DOJ (and subsequently the FBI) to go after conservative groups with criminal charges. The IRS likely violated federal law by illegally sharing 1.25 million pages of taxpayer information with DOJ, which were contained on nearly two dozen FBI backup tapes. Further, information shows DOJ wanted IRS officials who were scheduled to testify in front of Congress about the targeting scandal to turn over planned remarks to them first before delivering on Capitol Hill. From JW:
Judicial Watch today released new Department of Justice (DOJ) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) documents that include an official “DOJ Recap” report detailing an October 2010 meeting between Lois Lerner, DOJ officials and the FBI to plan for the possible criminal prosecution of targeted nonprofit organizations for alleged illegal political activity.
The newly obtained records also reveal that the Obama DOJ wanted IRS employees who were going to testify to Congress to turn over documents to the DOJ before giving them to Congress. Records also detail how the Obama IRS gave the FBI 21 computer disks, containing 1.25 million pages of confidential IRS returns from 113,000 nonprofit social 501(c)(4) welfare groups – or nearly every 501(c)(4) in the United States – as part of its prosecution effort. According to a letter from then-House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, “This revelation likely means that the IRS – including possibly Lois Lerner – violated federal tax law by transmitting this information to the Justice Department.”

Systemic "Holidays" Are Coming to Banks, Money Market Accounts and More in the Weeks Ahead
This morning both the NYSE broke (canceling all open orders) and China outlawed selling stocks for large investors.

That theme is as follows: that as the next Crisis unfolds, it will more and more difficult to get your money out of the financial system.
The reason for this concerns the actual structure of the financial system. As we’ve outlined previously, that structure is as follows:

'Nothing To Debate': Legal Gun In My Purse Saved Our Lives
The United States of America is a great country. You can debate absolutely anything, whether or not it has merit, and whether or not it's any of your business.
But guns? There's nothing to debate. Throw out all the numbers and expert opinions. I've got your expert right here, and it's called EXPERIENCE.
Here's the truth:
1. Criminals will always have guns, this is not about them.
2. Americans have a constitutional right to bear arms. Humans have a right to defend themselves. If we didn't have the Second Amendment, we would create it.
3. You can't control everything; but if it makes you feel better, go with a simple law preventing violent offenders from buying firearms. Make it "violent" offenders rather than "white collar" offenders, or most of Capitol Hill won't be allowed to own them.
4. Get a gun, get legal, be responsible, trust yourself. Don't trust yourself? Then don't carry. But for God's sake then, shut the f**k up about it, because that's where your involvement ends.
Chuck and I were married one year ago, on the Fourth of July. Sure, we celebrated our first wedding anniversary in a hospital. But thanks to the Second Amendment, my crack-shot husband and the pistol he used, we were able to have a first anniversary.

Jade Helm to start under veil of secrecy
Jade Helm 15, heavily scrutinized military exercise, to open without media access
Jade Helm 15, the controversial Special Operations exercise that spawned a wave of conspiracy theories about a government takeover, will open next week without any media allowed to observe it, a military spokesman said.
Embedded reporters won’t be permitted at any point during the exercise, in which military officials say that secretive Special Operations troops will maneuver through private and publicly owned land in several southern states. Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria, a spokesman for Army Special Operations Command, said his organization is considering allowing a small number of journalists to view selected portions of the exercise later this summer, but nothing is finalized.
“All requests from the media for interviews and coverage of U.S. Army Special Operations Command personnel, organizations and events are assessed for feasibility and granted when and where possible,” Lastoria said in a statement released Wednesday to The Washington Post. “We are dedicated to communicating with the public, while balancing that against the application of operations security and other factors.”
The exercise is scheduled for July 15 through September 15 and is expected to include more than 1,200 troops. Army Special Operations Command announced the exercise in March, saying its size and scope would set it apart from most training exercises. For months, some protesters have said Jade Helm is setting the stage for future martial law. Those fears have been mocked by comedians such as Jon Stewart and others, and the U.S. military has tried to reassure people about the exercise.

Is This What The First World Cyber War Looks Like: Global Real Time Cyber Attack Map
After a series of cyber failures involving first UAL, then this website, then the NYSE which is still halted, then the WSJ, some have suggested that this could be a concerted cyber attack (perhaps by retaliatory China unhappy its stocks are plunging) focusing on the US. So we decided to look at a real-time cyber attack map courtesy of Norsecorp which provides real time visibility [3]into global cyber attacks.
What clearly stands out is that for some reason Chinese DDOS attacks/hackers seem to be focusing on St. Louis this morning.

Will Slippery Slope Follow Confederate Flag Battle?
Some conservatives have seen efforts to remove the Confederate battle flag from the statehouse in Columbia, South Carolina, and also from other public places around the South, as the beginning of a slippery slope in which roads and landmarks named after Confederate figures are changed, monuments are removed, and a significant part of American history is obscured from view.
"The Left's 21st century agenda: expunging every trace of respect, recognition or acknowledgment of Americans who fought for the Confederacy," tweeted Weekly Standard editor William Kristol on June 23. "It's our own mini-French revolution, expunging history in a frenzy of self-righteousness."
There are clearly some who would like to do just that. David Brooks, the New York Times columnist, recently advocated removing Robert E. Lee's name "from most schools, roads and other institutions, where the name could be seen as acceptance of what he did and stood for during the war."
"This is not about rewriting history," Brooks argued. "It's about shaping the culture going forward."
That's the talk in elite circles. But a new poll suggests that most Americans, white and black, view the flag differently from other memories of the Confederacy and are not on board for the wholesale removal of names and monuments commemorating those who fought for the South in the Civil War.
