Baton Rouge Shooter Gavin Eugene Long Was Nation Of Islam Member, Railed Against ‘Crackers’ On YouTube Channel

A Youtube account operated by Gavin Eugene Long and discovered by The Daily Caller reveals key insight into what might have motivated the 29-year-old black man who killed three Baton Rouge police officers Sunday morning.

Videos on Long’s account show that he was a former Nation of Islam member. He also railed against “crackers” and made references to Alton Sterling, the black man killed by police in Baton Rouge on July 5.

Other information about Long shows that the Kansas City native, who CBS reported was honorably discharged from the Marines in 2010, went by the name Cosmo Ausar Setepenra.

Report: Baton Rouge Police Shooter Identified as Gavin Eugene Long

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The deceased suspect in the deadly shooting of Baton Rouge law enforcement officers appeared to have attacked police on his 29th birthday, CBS News has learned.

The suspect has been identified as a black male named Gavin Eugene Long of Kansas City, Missouri, sources tell CBS News. He was born on July 17, 1987.

One suspect was killed and two others might still be at large, Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokeswoman for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, previously said. However, Louisiana state police said Sunday afternoon there is "no active shooter" in Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Advocate reported that two other men were picked up across the Mississippi River in Addis and were being questioned by police as "persons of interest."

Cleveland Police Officer on Baton Rouge Shooting: Obama 'Has Blood on His Hands'

"Day Of Rage" Continues: Milwaukee Cop Ambushed While Sitting In Car

Following a week during which President Obama focused on trying to reduce tensions and helping build trust between police and the communities they serve, it appears he failed as Friday's "Day of Rage" is spilling over...

A Milwaukee police officer was shot in a “vicious” attack early Sunday as he sat in his squad car while colleagues investigated a domestic disturbance call.

The suspected shooter, identified by police as a 20-year-old West Allis man with two felonies on his record, was found dead in a nearby yard, they said. It appears his death was suicide.

The incident began as a response to a domestic disturbance call near South 17th Street and West Morgan Avenue at about 2 a.m. During that investigation, someone fired shots into the squad car, striking an officer “multiple” times,” Asst. Police Chief William Jessup said in a morning press conference.

The officer, a 31-year-old man with 13 years of service, was taken to Froedtert Hospital for surgery.Milwaukee police Sergeant Tim Gauerke said the injuries were not life-threatening.

“This is just another example of the risks our officers take each and every day to protect these citizens,”Jessup said.

UPDATE: 3 Law Enforcement Officers Killed, 3 Others Injured in Baton Rouge Shooting

DEVELOPING - At least three law enforcement officers were killed and three others injured in a shooting Sunday in Baton Rouge, officials said.

A suspect was also dead in a gun battle with police. Two other suspects may also be at large, officials said.

The shooting -- which happened just before 9 a.m., less than 1 mile from police headquarters -- comes amid spiraling tensions across the city, Louisiana's capital -- and the country -- between the black community and police.

A police robot was brought in to ensure there were no explosives on the dead suspect or in the vicinity.

A witness told WBRZ-TV, a man was dressed in black with his face covered was shooting indiscriminately when he walked out between a convenience store and car wash across from Hammond Air Plaza, according to Fox radio affiliate WJBO.

Multiple police units were stationed at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where the officers were taken. A police officer with a long gun was blocking the parking lot at the emergency room.

Spokeswoman Ashley Mendoza said the hospital received five patients from the police shooting, all "law enforcement professionals." Of the two who survived the shooting, one is in critical condition and the other is in fair condition.

A pointed response to Mike Lewis's comments.

While I'm certainly no fan of Mike Lewis, a lot of what he says is true about Obama. It's pretty clear the Obama administration and Democrats are radicalize and trafficking hate in America - not just towards law enforcement but our society in general.

In his blind hatred, he and the whole Democrat party elites have vilified Trump for daring to love our country along with demonizing organizations like the Tea Party whom only seek to restore our Constitutional Rights and preserve our sovereignty.

It's time people grasp the vast difference between the Democrats today verses the party they knew thirty years ago. They're not of the same ideology -- no where close! Now, they profit from divisive speech which incites, no, demands violent exchanges that goes to disrupt and tear apart our societal fabric. Like a virus, they have tried to alter our perceptions to our own demise!

Simply put, we need to end this insidious romanticizing of the Left as some social justice warrior group and realize they are demonstratively hypocritical.

How ironic is it that Clinton comes out about racism in America - citing the system treats blacks unfairly when she, herself, was just given a pass for her criminality for the moment. She prospered (albeit temporarily) from this double standard justice that has the black men in jail while she gets to run for president and make such platitudes and frivolous promises to her 'masses.'

Open your eyes, my friends, the Democrat party has become a self-serving and self-interest only panderer that wants votes to retain their entitlements of power and money. There's not altruistic motus operandi (*CHARITABLE INTENT*) here.

Don't be fooled by the feel good, feigned social justice moments. It's all a charade designed to get your vote only.

Obama has never had America's best interest at heart and his actions have betrayed his words. Even our GDP being less than 3% for his entire presidency is indicative of his apathy for our financial well-being. Furthermore, his incendiary speeches about violence and meetings with hate groups like BLM demonstrate a complete disregard for our personal safety. His denial of reality is to make you deny right along with him. Don't be fooled, he knows why the Dallas sniper gunned down police officers from an elevated perch. He also knows the perpetrator's criminal intent and the fact it was a well-thought out act of violence.

In short, Obama is still scamming Americans. After 7-1/2 years of this insane puppet show, when is it going to sink in, you've been duped every way imaginable! Wake up America.

How say you?

BREAKING NEWS: WILLIAM MAYCOCK ESCORTED FROM POPLAR HILL

While this is developing, the chief of security William Maycock was escorted off the property. More to come...

Statement from Mayor Jake Day on the sale of the Salisbury Giant:

This morning I was contacted by representatives of Royal Ahold and Delhaize Group who advised me that they will sell the Salisbury Giant to Albertson’s Companies, Inc. In the coming months, the Salisbury Giant will become an Acme supermarket. The loss of our Giant is a situation which has been the topic of much discussion and worry over the past few months, but I’m happy to say that there is very, very good news to report.

First and most important, not one current Salisbury Giant employee will lose their job. There will be no store closure, and current Giant employees will continue on as Acme employees. This is fantastic news for the employees, their families, and our local economy. Additionally, the Salisbury Acme will remain a union shop. Current employees’ standing as union members will not be affected in any way. I’m unable to speak to what may or may not happen in other markets, except to say that it is my understanding that our store is the only location where this will happen.

All of this means that, by and large, what Salisbury residents can expect to see is a sign change. Acme is a brand which has history in Salisbury, and I expect that residents will find the new store to be comparable to the Giant which it replaces. The bottom line is this: The store which has been known as Salisbury’s premier supermarket will stay on – employees and all – with a new name. I’m excited to welcome Acme to Salisbury, and I will do everything I can to help them become part of our community.

Good Morning Joe!!!

First and foremost I would like to say thank you for actually saying what's in your mind and not going with the majority and the spineless that are SUPPOSED to be leading Wicomico County and Salisbury. My question is and has been why has there not been any re-assessment of the Wicomico County Economic Development position. This has gotten swept under the table long enough and needs to be questioned even if it ruffles a few feathers.

I realize that Dave Ryan is a man of character and integrity, a very soft spoken man but I think the time has come to question exactly what is going on. The 150,000/year salary and the taxpayers of Wicomico County deserve more than what has transpired and the meek forecast.

On July 7, 2016 at 12:13 AM my wife was dying

"On July 7, 2016 at 12:13 AM my wife was dying. She just had an emergency C-section and went into shock. I stood by her head while she was bleeding out and remembered every fight we ever had and the things I never did for her. I couldn't let her know how scared I was. I stood in front of my wife saying my final good bye!

What do you say to someone knowing it's going to be the last time you talk to them. I tried so hard to comfort her and tell her everything is okay. I tried to smile and pretend that it's all part of the operation.

They called a code blue and people started rushing into the room. She was shaking so much!!! I kissed her and asked God "please don't take her home."

I thought about all the times I missed church at Way of life. I thought about how to tell my new family the bad news. So much was going through my mind that I had no time to enjoy my son. I had to be strong for my family. I had to put the weight upon my shoulders and walk with this load of having my wife pass in the operating room. I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to pray because I thought God would shun me for not being a good Christian. I was so sorry and asked God if somehow he could just hear this last request.

Larry Hogan's split with Donald Trump divides Maryland Republicans

As Republicans across the country try to coalesce behind their controversial presidential nominee next week, Gov. Larry Hogan won't be among them.

Some deride the Republican governor for his repudiation of Trump. Some forgive him. Some agree with him. Others are baffled that he couldn't stay quiet.

The disagreement has exposed fault lines in Maryland's minority party and its leadership at a time when its fortunes are turning — with popular Hogan at its helm, record numbers of Republicans in local office and its best fundraising in more than a decade.

Hogan is one of two sitting Republican governors to disavow their party's presumptive nominee this year and one of only two Republicans elected governor in Maryland since 1966.

Gatewood is not confident of Johnson’s guilt saying, “Even if [Micah] was carrying a gun or [rifle], that in of itself does not prove he murdered the police officers.”

Walmart Wants Salisbury News To Provide Promotions For Free

It is amazing to me how the biggest retail store here on the Shore sent us a direct request to promote a program they make millions of dollars on each year.

The request was specifically for the North Walmart Store. I responded back to them telling them that unless they start advertising with us, we will NOT publish their release.

When you use common sense, clearly Walmart has come to learn that our audience is far greater then anyone else, or they wouldn't have sent the request. I explained that even as large as the company is, our ads are only $100.00 a month and with that ad we'd be more then happy to market their promotions. There's been no reply. I also shared our traffic to date and if that doesn't convince them that advertising with us would be an incredible move, I don't know what to say beyond those numbers.

Times have been tough for all of the small businesses over the past several years and on behalf of our advertisers we will not participate with these free promotion requests.

That being said, we truly enjoy promoting free non profit events. BBQ's, Yard Sales, Fundraisers, Church events, Lost and found animals, all for free.

I think Walmart can pony up $100.00 a month, wouldn't you agree?

Are fat people less intelligent than thin?

People who are overweight make wrong food choices as they have 'less grey and white matter in the brain'

Fat people are less intelligent than people with a normal weight, a provocative study claims.

Overweight men and women have less grey and white matter in key areas of the brain.

They also have greater impulsivity and ‘altered reward processing’, the study said.

The researchers said that their findings could explain why overweight people make poor diet choices - they do not have the mental capacity to control themselves.

Nor are they able to stop themselves from making poor choices when the do eat something.

The theory is likely to prove controversial as weight loss campaigners have emphasised that each individual has different reasons for their struggle with their body.

JUST IN: Ruth Bader Ginsburg: 'I regret making' Donald Trump remarks

"On reflection, my recent remarks in response to press inquiries were ill-advised and I regret making them," Ginsburg said in a statement. "Judges should avoid commenting on a candidate for public office. In the future I will be more circumspect."
Ginsburg extensively criticized Trump as "a faker" in an interview with CNN earlier this week.

Her comments enraged Trump and leading congressional Republicans and thrust the 83-year-old justice into the middle of the heated presidential race.

Lewes, Rehoboth, Millville and Millsboro Food Lion stores to become Weis

Food Lion stores in Lewes, Rehoboth, Millsboro and Millville are being sold to Pennsylvania-based grocer Weis Markets.

Delhaize Group, parent company of Giant, and Ahold, parent company of Food Lion, announced June 13 that their United States subsidiaries have reached agreements with buyers to sell 86 stores in a limited number of locations where the companies’ U.S. subsidiaries both operate. These divestments are being made in connection with the United States Federal Trade Commission’s pending review of the proposed merger between the two companies. The divested stores are being sold to well-established supermarket operators.

Weis expects to complete the conversion process for the majority of the stores in September and October and is interested in hiring current Food Lion store teams for the purchased locations.

“This transaction provides us the opportunity to expand into markets that are contiguous to our current trade area, particularly in Maryland where we are adding 21 stores, essentially doubling our store count in a state where we have steadily grown in recent years,” said Weis Markets Chairman, President and CEO Jonathan Weis. “We’re also looking forward to expanding our operations into two adjacent states with the addition of 13 stores in Virginia and four in Delaware.”

BREAKING Executive Order -- United States Policy on Pre- and Post-Strike Measures to Address Civilian Casualties in U.S. Operations Involving the Use of Force

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby direct as follows:

Section 1. Purpose. United States policy on civilian casualties resulting from U.S. operations involving the use of force in armed conflict or in the exercise of the Nation's inherent right of self-defense is based on our national interests, our values, and our legal obligations. As a Nation, we are steadfastly committed to complying with our obligations under the law of armed conflict, including those that address the protection of civilians, such as the fundamental principles of necessity, humanity, distinction, and proportionality.

The protection of civilians is fundamentally consistent with the effective, efficient, and decisive use of force in pursuit of U.S. national interests. Minimizing civilian casualties can further mission objectives; help maintain the support of partner governments and vulnerable populations, especially in the conduct of counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations; and enhance the legitimacy and sustainability of U.S. operations critical to our national security. As a matter of policy, the United States therefore routinely imposes certain heightened policy standards that are more protective than the requirements of the law of armed conflict that relate to the protection of civilians.

Civilian casualties are a tragic and at times unavoidable consequence of the use of force in situations of armed conflict or in the exercise of a state's inherent right of self-defense. The U.S. Government shall maintain and promote best practices that reduce the likelihood of civilian casualties, take appropriate steps when such casualties occur, and draw lessons from our operations to further enhance the protection of civilians.

Higher Resolution Images Show Philando Castile Handgun at Scene of Shooting…

The original narrative presented by Diamond “Lavish” Reynolds, in the aftermath of the Falcon Heights shooting, is in complete collapse. Reluctantly, even Mediaite and MSM are now having to concede officers Jeronimo Yanez and Joseph Kauser initially pulled over Philando Castile because he fit the exact description of an armed robbery suspect.

The leak of the radio transmissions surrounding the stop is irrefutable evidence the MSM are forced to accept. The best efforts of agenda-driven Snopes to obfuscate and refute the claim have embarrassingly failed. The truth continues to have no agenda.

Additionally, some higher resolution images from initial media on scene (hat tip Annette Kelly) are supporting the outline provided by officer Yanez attorney that Yanez was reacting to Philando Castile displaying a handgun toward Yanez:

Berlin Mayor Breaks Split Council Vote Giving Dollar General Free Utility Connection

BERLIN – After a heated discussion and a split vote, town officials agreed to cover the water and sewer infrastructure fees for the Dollar General being built on Decatur Street.

Mayor Gee Williams provided the tie-breaking vote Monday after the council initially voted 2-2 on a contract to have the town pay the $24,700 water and sewer connection fee for the new Dollar General. Town council members Thom Gulyas and Lisa Hall voted against the agreement, citing concerns about setting a precedent.

“It’s a slippery slope,” Gulyas said.

The contract, presented as one of several the council was to consider at Monday night’s meeting, came as a result of the town’s sale of the property at the corner of Decatur Street to Oxford Chase Development, the company building the new Dollar General.

New Black Panthers Want Their Own Country

Babu Omowale, the so-called national minister of defense for the People’s New Black Panther Party, says his group and allied organizations have their sights set on establishing “our own government in a nation within a nation.”

Omowale was speaking in an interview set to air Sunday night on this reporter’s talk radio program, “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” broadcast on New York’s AM 970 The Answer and News Talk 990 AM in Philadelphia.

Omowale used the interview to claim five states as belonging to the “Black Nation”: Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia.

The revolutionary stated: “We just need to start migrating back to those states and taking control of the economics in those states. If black people move in, most definitely white people will move out. So it’s not a hard process for us to have our own country within a country.”

Omowale is also co-founder of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, a black militant gun group named after Black Panther Party founder Huey P. Newton. According to reports, Dallas shooter Micah X. Johnson “liked” the Huey P. Newton Gun Club and Omawale has said that he recognized Johnson from black community events in Dallas.

Asked by this reporter what his group’s endgame is, Omowale replied...

U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown likens federal indictment to Dallas police officer slayings

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown took to her blog to address her supporters and detractors in response to a 24-count federal indictment.

Brown, 69, of Jacksonville, and her chief of staff, Elias “Ronnie” Simmons, 50, were charged last week with participating in a conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, multiple counts of mail and wire fraud, concealing material facts on required financial disclosure forms, theft of government property, obstruction of the due administration of internal revenue laws and filing false tax returns, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Both pleaded not guilty to the charges Friday in federal court.

Brown likened her situation to the recent police shooting deaths of two black men in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and St. Paul, Minnesota, and the deaths of five Dallas police officers during a protest march Thursday night.

“Last week was very rough,” Brown wrote. “Two black men were needlessly gunned down by police; five Dallas police officers were slain by a demented man; and on Friday I had to appear in federal court.”

Calling the indictment “very scary,” Brown said her “spirit remains unbroken.”

“My conscience is clear because I’m innocent,” she wrote. “I’m not the first black elected official to be persecuted, and, sad to say, I won’t be the last.”

Obama to address the nation’s racial divide in Tuesday memorial service in Dallas

Almost exactly three years ago, President Obama stood in the White House briefing room and said that he didn’t think it would be “particularly productive” for him to convene “a national conversation on race.”

But in the wake of a recent series of high-profile, racially charged shootings across the country, the president this week found himself doing exactly that.

Obama spent Monday preparing to address the nation at a Tuesday memorial service in Dallas for five slain police officers and meeting with advocates at the White House in an effort aimed at bridging the divide the between law enforcement and communities of color.

The president met for nearly two hours with leaders of eight law enforcement groups Monday, informing them that he considered the killing of the five Dallas police officers on Friday “a hate crime” and that he would work actively to serve as an intermediary between minority activists and police.

California Woman Receives Three Speeding Tickets Within an Hour

A California woman was arrested last weekend after getting three speeding tickets within an hour while driving in Pulaski County, Virginia, KCAL-TV reported.

According to police, Kai Kitchen of Los Angeles was taken into custody last Sunday where officers issued an arrest warrant for misdemeanor reckless driving.

Police say Trooper N.S. Rife first spotted Kitchen traveling 93 mph — 23 mph above the speed limit — at around 7 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 81. She received a citation for reckless driving and was released.

But about 40 minutes later, she was cited again, also by Rife, for reckless driving. This time, police say she was going 97 mph.

Then, at 8 a.m., Trooper M.R. Overholt pulled Kitchen over on I-81 for going 94 mph. This time, she was arrested.

According to KCAL, some of Kitchen’s supporters have claimed that she was only pulled over that many times because she is African-American. Her lawyer says that’s nonsense.

Killer Robot Used By Dallas Police Opens Ethical Debate

DALLAS (AP) — When Dallas police used a bomb-carrying robot to kill a sniper, they also kicked off an ethical debate about technology’s use as a crime-fighting weapon.

In what appears to be an unprecedented tactic, police rigged a bomb-disposal robot to kill an armed suspect in the fatal shootings of five officers in Dallas. While there doesn’t appear to be any hard data on the subject, security experts and law enforcement officials said they couldn’t recall another time when U.S. police have deployed a robot with lethal intent.

The strategy opens a new chapter in the escalating use of remote and semi-autonomous devices to fight crime and protect lives. It also raises new questions over when it’s appropriate to dispatch a robot to kill dangerous suspects instead of continuing to negotiate their surrender.

“If lethally equipped robots can be used in this situation, when else can they be used?” says Elizabeth Joh, a University of California at Davis law professor who has followed U.S. law enforcement’s use of technology. “Extreme emergencies shouldn’t define the scope of more ordinary situations where police may want to use robots that are capable of harm.”

Giuliani: Black People Must Teach Their Children To Be Respectful To The Police

Sunday, on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” while commenting on the recent police shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota and a sniper targeting and killing five Dallas police officers, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) said African-Americans must, “teach your children to be respectful to the police, and you’ve got to teach your children that the real danger to them is not the police, the real danger to them, 99 out of 100 times, 9,900 out of 1,000 times are other black kids who are going to kill them.”

Transcript as follows:

JOHN DICKERSON: Welcome back to “Face the Nation” With us now is former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Mr. Mayor, I want to ask you about something former speaker Newt Gingrich said, which is that he said, white Americans can’t understand the extra risk that comes with being black in America and that whites “instinctively underestimate the danger of the black experience.” What do you think about that?

GIULIANI: I agree with that completely. I agree largely with the sentiments of Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD). The reality is, we have to look differently at race in America if we’re going to change this. We’ve been looking at it the same way for 20 years and, here’s where we are. And, we both have to try to understand each other. First, let me say, my deep sympathy for the people of Minnesota, the people of Louisiana, the people of Texas and of Dallas, and I’d like them all to remember that although these incidents happened in different ways, they all share it together as Americans. And we share this violence together as Americans. So, maybe whites have to look at it differently, and blacks have to look at it differently. Whites have to realize that African-American men have a fear — and boys, have a fear of being confronted by the police, because of some of these incidents. Some people may consider it rational. Some people may consider it irrational. But it’s a reality. It exists. And there’s a second reality in the black community. And the second reality in the black community is, there’s too much violence in the black community. So, a black will die 1 percent, or less, at the hands of the police and 99 percent of the hands of a civilian, most often another black. So, if you want to protect black lives, then you’ve got to protect black lives, not just against police, which happens rarely, although with tremendous attention, and which happens every 14 hours in Chicago. Every 14 hours. And we never hear from Black Lives Matter.

5 bills House lawmakers wanted to act on before summer break

House lawmakers are eager to accomplish something — anything — before they leave for the summer.

The House Oversight and Government Reform committee passed a series of bills during a July 12 markup hearing aimed at improving and reforming digital record-keeping practices and making federal agencies and oversight more efficient and accessible. The bills will now go to the House floor for a vote.

Electronic Message Preservation Act

The Electronic Message Preservation Act would direct the Archivist of the United States to create and disseminate regulations regarding the storage of any electronic messages, primarily emails, regarding the operations of the government. These records would have to be collected and organized to be accessible through an electronic search.

It would also require the Archivist to make annual reviews of the efficacy of these regulations, and report to Congress on the results.

“According to the National Archives and Records Administration, approximately 73 percent of agencies continue to print and file hard copies of email messages,” said Ranking Member Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), who introduced the bill in 2015. “This means that these records are more likely to get lost, and are harder for the agency to retrieve during record searches under the Freedom of Information Act. This would simply codify what the agencies are already required to do under a directive issued by the archivist and director of [the Office of Management and Budget] in 2012.”
