Misinformation endangers community, law enforcement officers and illegal aliens

6 things you need to know about immigration enforcement

SEATTLE, Wash. – Advocacy groups, citizens and politicians who propagate incorrect or misleading information about the U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) mission create baseless concerns in the community and place innocent bystanders, aliens and law enforcement officers in danger. Local and national efforts are being made by ICE to increase the accurate information given to the community about our mission with the intent of fostering trust and better collaboration in communities across the United States. Here is what you need to know to reduce risk associated with ICE’s mission in our community:
  • U.S. Immigration laws are not policy, they are law
The ICE mission is to protect America from the cross-border crime and illegal immigration that threaten national security and public safety. This mission is executed through the enforcement of more than 400 federal statutes and focuses on smart immigration enforcement, preventing terrorism and combating the illegal movement of people and goods. Title 8 of the U.S. Code covers "Aliens and Nationality” and contains all applicable laws ICE officers adhere to.
  • Interfering with an ICE officer’s official duties is a crime.
ICE enforcement functions do not need a judicial warrant. The ICE officer will utilize administrative removal warrants to carry out their duties. It is important to keep in mind that the underlying basis for a non-citizen’s removability may be due to some criminal violation, but the removal warrant used by ICE is not a criminal warrant signed by a federal judge. The removal warrant used to process the non-citizen’s removal is signed by an ICE official based on a finding that the person is removable from the United States. The inaccurate information being published by advocacy groups and shared many times via social media does nothing but endanger the alien these groups are hoping to protect. Obstructing or otherwise interfering with a federal ICE arrest is a crime, and anyone involved may be subject to prosecution under federal law including but not limited to, 18 USC § 111. Encouraging others to interfere or attempt to obstruct an arrest is extremely reckless and places all parties in jeopardy.
  • ICE does not conduct raids.
Social media posts claiming ICE is conducting “raids” of events or communities are categorically false and do nothing but promote fearmongering.  ICE continues to focus its limited resources first and foremost on those who pose the greatest threat to public safety. ICE does not target aliens indiscriminately. Rather, ICE conducts strictly targeted enforcement actions against criminal aliens, frequently those who were arrested by local authorities and released despite ICE detainers. The agency’s arrest statistics clearly reflect this reality. Nationally, approximately 90 percent of all persons arrested by ICE during fiscal year 2018 either had a criminal conviction, a pending criminal charge, had illegally re-entered the U.S. after being removed previously (a crime itself), or were already subject to a final order of removal.

HAMMER: The Democratic Party Is Fatally Attracted To Hardcore Leftism

The 2020 Democratic Party presidential candidates finally return tonight to the debate stage. And boy, are the American people in store for a treat.

The modern Democratic Party is, at its core, fundamentally unfit to govern the United States of America. In its present form, it is, as I put it in July, "a ragtag potpourri of anti-nation-state/pro-open-borders activists, devoted prenatal infanticide cultists, neo-Marxist economic 'class warfare' grievance-mongers, and identity politics-centric racial identitarian hucksters." The man currently leading Democratic presidential primary polling is a senile liar and faux-"moderate" ad hominem straw man-slayer with a firm decades-long commitment to perpetually reaching new heights of brazen immorality. The woman upon whom a plurality of bettors are placing their wagers is a politically disingenuous, shrill harpy with all the likability of venereal disease. And the septuagenarian loonbag who seems to be rising to near the top of much national and statewide polling is an actual Sandinista-loving communist radical who honeymooned in the Soviet Union and openly shilled for America's arch geopolitical foe at the height of America's existential standoff with that foe.

Hold aside for a moment all the sundry problems with the incorrigibly feckless Republican Party. Focus, for now, on the profound maladies of the Left. The Democratic Party, which has never seen a criminal alien sex offender that it hated or a third-trimester unborn child that it loved, is a political party in very, very, very bad shape.

CNN asks Rand Paul if he, Liz Cheney are in 'unbecoming' 'butt-kissing contest' for Trump

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar asked Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Thursday whether he was trying to suck up to President Trump in a way that disrespected his office.

Her question came after Paul traded barbs with House GOP Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., on foreign policy. Paul, for his part, accused Cheney of "warmongering," while Cheney suggested he put "terrorists first" over the United States.

"When I look at these tweets -- you're tagging Donald Trump in them, both of you -- and I wonder if even as this discussion online highlight two really important, different philosophies are foreign policy, do you worry that it's devolving a bit into this butt-kissing contest that's a little unbecoming of two members of Congress?" Keilar asked Paul on "CNN Right Now."

Five NYPD cops are injured trying to break-up a massive brawl in Manhattan

Five police officers have been injured as they tried to separate a Manhattan melee after high school pupils attacked a cab driver they thought had clipped their friend.

The chaos erupted in Hell's Kitchen, New York, where the teens believed the driver had struck a 16-year-old with his vehicle - video that emerged later would prove otherwise.

Footage allegedly shows the teenager running out onto 52nd Street and 8th Avenue, where he then crashes into the taxi on Thursday at around 2.40pm.

A large group of students then tried to break into the cab to attack the driver and instead kicked and punched the vehicle, an NYPD spokesperson told PIX11.

They ignored police orders to stop and disperse, before going onto attack officers, five of whom suffered minor injuries.

McDonald’s customers brandish guns, threaten employee over cold hamburgers

Two Florida men reportedly pulled out guns and threatened a McDonald’s employee after being served cold hamburgers.

The encounter allegedly took place around 4 a.m. Monday at a Palm Coast McDonald’s. Jawan Davis Jr. and Jordon Dunn, both 20, ordered five hamburgers at the drive-thru. According to The Dayton Beach News-Journal, Davis felt the hamburgers were cold and demanded the employee remake them.

“I don’t play about my food,” Davis reportedly said.

The pair then brandished weapons and threatened the employee, according to reports.

The McDonald’s employee allegedly agreed to remake the order, but went into the back and called the police.

US attorney recommends proceeding with charges against McCabe, as DOJ rejects last-ditch appeal

U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu has recommended moving forward with charges against Andrew McCabe, Fox News has learned, as the Justice Department rejects a last-ditch appeal from the former top FBI official and current CNN contributor.

McCabe -- the former deputy and acting director of the FBI -- appealed the decision of the U.S. attorney for Washington all the way up to Jeffrey Rosen, the deputy attorney general, but he rejected that request, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The potential charges relate to DOJ inspector general findings against him regarding misleading statements concerning a Hillary Clinton-related investigation.

A source close to McCabe’s legal team said they received an email from the Department of Justice which said, "The Department rejected your appeal of the United States Attorney’s Office’s decision in this matter. Any further inquiries should be directed to the United States Attorney’s Office."

Nancy Pelosi Claims Democrat Dan McCready Actually Won In North Carolina

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed that Democrat Dan McCready “won the campaign” in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District.

McCready lost the special election to Republican State Sen. Dan Bishop by roughly 2%, but Democrats took solace in how close the election was. President Donald Trump won the district in 2016 by around 12% over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“I’m very proud of Dan McCready. He’s a great patriot. He’s an independent voice for the district that he would have represented,” Pelosi said. “It’s too bad he’s not coming here. But he did a great job.”

State Police Arrest Dorchester Co. Man In 2001 Cold Case Involving The Murder Of A Correctional Officer

John Michael Ingersoll, Jr.
(VIENNA, Md.) — Maryland State Police homicide investigators arrested a Dorchester County man today in connection with a 2001 cold case involving the murder of a correctional officer.

The accused is identified as John Michael Ingersoll, Jr., 46, of East New Market, Maryland. The Maryland State Apprehension Team arrested Ingersoll in Easton, Maryland at 11:05 a.m. Ingersoll is charged with first and second degree murder, and other related offenses. The Grand Jury of Dorchester County handed down an indictment this morning, charging Ingersoll for the 2001 murder after the Office of the State’s Attorney for Dorchester County presented the case. Ingersoll is being held in the Dorchester County Detention Center pending trial.

The deceased, Gregory Guy Collins, 31, of Vienna, Maryland was a three-year veteran of the Division of Correction and a member of the Maryland National Guard. Correctional Officer Collins was shot and killed while traveling toward his home after working his shift at the Eastern Correctional Institution in Somerset County during the early morning hours on Monday, June 4, 2001.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on June 4, 2001, Correctional Officer Collins was reported missing when he failed to return home after his evening shift at the Eastern Correctional Institution in Princess Anne. He had reportedly finished his shift around midnight and was driving a gray Toyota pickup truck when the incident occurred.

A responding Maryland state trooper noticed a wooded area along Indiantown Road, one mile east of Route 331, where it appeared a vehicle had left the roadway. The trooper checked the area further and found Correctional Officer Collins unresponsive inside his truck.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit worked in coordination with several law enforcement partners to bring this unsolved homicide investigation to a close. Assistance was provided by the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, the Eastern Correctional Institution in Princess Anne, the Office of the State’s Attorney for Dorchester County, Federal Bureau of Investigation Baltimore Division, Talbot County Task Force, Maryland State Police from the Easton Barrack, Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Apprehension Team and the Criminal Enforcement Division Upper Shore.

William H. Jones, State’s Attorney for Dorchester County, reminds the public that the Indictment is an allegation, and that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Opinion: We need to move more people over the Bay bridges, not more cars

In a time when most of us would acknowledge that there is practically nothing that everyone can agree on, there is one thing – especially here on the Eastern Shore during the summer months – which we would say contradicts that common belief.

Congestion stands as one of the greatest threats to the nation’s economic well-being and quality of life. Maryland residents are no stranger to this threat, especially when scaled down to the regional impact of this dirty word regarding the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

The structure once symbolized new opportunity and connectivity across the Bay. Now, it symbolizes more of a melting pot for commuters, truck drivers, beach-travelers, and others to sit in traffic together for hours on end.

By now you’ve most likely heard that the Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA) and the Federal High Administration (FHWA) have narrowed down the prospective third-span choices with corridors identified for new bridge build options.

‘Supreme Court Decision is Victory for All’

‘Supreme Court Decision is Victory for All’

“The Supreme Court’s decision late Wednesday allowing the Trump administration to implement its policy making it harder for migrants to qualify for asylum in the U.S. is a victory not just for President Trump, but more importantly for the American people and for the rule of law,” National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd writes.

“The high court ruling is a matter of common sense. Asylum is meant for relief for persecution – not for the purpose of picking a country solely because it is more desirable and can provide migrants with better-paying jobs and a higher standard of living.”

The ruling will allow President Trump to reduce illegal immigration drastically—“something the vast majority of U.S. citizens want,” Judd says.

Even The Washington Post’s liberal editorial board agrees that Democrats—mainly House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)—need to approve President Trump’s trade deal with Canada and Mexico, the USMCA. “It’s better not to gamble with people’s jobs and income, even for an understandable political reason, unless overriding substantive policy concerns justify it. They don’t.”

Ohio State denied trademark for word ‘the’ because … the font is too big

Most people would probably laugh at Ohio State University’s trademark application for the word “THE” in capital letters.

It’s the best example of the taxpayer-funded institution’s cultish belief that it is the most perfect, unique snowflake in higher ed (“THE Ohio State University”). Another example: its extortion attempts against bakeries that take sports-themed orders.

But trademark reviewers take these unintentional-joke applications seriously, and rendered a preliminary verdict this week, The Plain Dealer reports.

The “office action” letter from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office provides two grounds for rejection. The first is that the fashion brand Marc Jacobs sought to trademark “the” three months before Ohio State filed its application. (The Marc Jacobs application suffered a technical snafu last month.)

The second is related to Ohio State’s massive ego (citations omitted):

Gay couple married in Md. sues after daughter denied US citizenship

COLLEGE PARK, Md. —A gay married couple in Maryland sued Thursday to challenge the State Department's refusal to recognize the U.S. citizenship of their infant daughter, who was born in Canada via a surrogate this year.

The federal lawsuit says a State Department policy discriminates against same-sex married couples and unlawfully treats their children as if they were born out of wedlock.

An attorney for the plaintiffs, Roee Kiviti and Adiel Kiviti, said their suit is at least the fourth such case to challenge the policy.

'How are we going to pay for it?': Biden confronts Warren and Sanders on their big plans

Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden put the pressure on his fellow candidates about their proposed healthcare plans during Thursday night's debate in Houston.

Specifically citing "Medicare for all" plans proposed by liberal candidates Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, Biden questioned the financial viability of the proposed plans.

"How are we going to pay for it?" Biden asked of the candidates as they enthusiastically touted the benefits of a single-payer health insurance system.

Hispanic moderator goes after Biden on immigration

Joe Biden was the subject of intense questioning from Latino moderator Jorge Ramos during the Democratic debate on Thursday night in Houston.

Citing the El Paso, Texas, shooting in August, which allegedly targeted Latino immigrants and which Ramos referred to as the 'deadliest massacre of Latinos in modern U.S. history,' the moderator pointedly directed a series of immigration questions to Biden.

"You supported the border wall," he started, citing former President Obama's policies on immigration.

Further critiquing the views on immigration held collectively by Obama and Biden during their time in office, Ramos pointed out that the Obama presidency was responsible for removing more immigrants from the United States than any other presidency in history.

Annual cocaine overdose deaths on rise in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland—Cocaine hasn’t received as much attention in recent years, but it is increasingly playing a role in the opioid epidemic, state data show.

Despite some good news from the first quarter of this year, cocaine-related deaths have skyrocketed annually in Maryland since 2015, with nearly half of those occurring in Baltimore. The vast majority of those deaths — 82%, according to the Maryland Department of Health — involved fentanyl, a powerful and dangerous synthetic opioid.

As his would-be challengers debate, Trump rips their progressive proposals

As Democrats face off in third 2020 primary debate seeking to challenge his 2020 reelection bid debated in Houston, President Trump lambasted their proposals during a long, counter-programming speech in Baltimore, casting their positions on immigration, guns, health care and the economy as fringe views antithetical to the values of everyday Americans.

In remarks at the House Republican Conference member retreat Thursday night, Mr. Trump denounced the "left wing agenda" of the crowded field of Democrats running for president. He falsely accused them of supporting "open borders" and "unrestricted migration," as well as backing a campaign designed to confiscate guns from law-abiding Americans.

Mr. Trump also said Democratic-led polices fueled poverty in urban areas, telling the friendly audience that his administration is committed to curbing homelessness in cities.

Donald Trump Regains Control of the Asylum System

President Donald Trump has won the power to 'shut down the asylum system,' complain pro-migration advocates, ending a process which has been exploited by millions of economic migrants to get blue collar jobs in the United States.

The protests came late Wednesday after the U.S. Supreme Court announced it would let Trump’s asylum reforms operate while California judges review their legality.

The court’s decision means Trump’s reforms can operate well into 2020, giving voters a clear way to assess the impact of Trump’s 2020 promises, and should help the border agencies shut off the arrival of new migrants, following the arrival of at least 3.3 million migrants from Central American and Mexico since 2014.

That huge population has used asylum loopholes to squeeze through the border, and then lower wages in blue collar workplaces, raise rents in blue collar neighborhoods and pack classrooms in schools used by the children of blue collar Americans.

Each year, roughly four million young Americans join the workforce after graduating from high school or university. This total includes about 800,000 Americans who graduate with skilled degrees in business or health care, engineering or science, software, or statistics.

But the federal government then imports about 1.1 million legal immigrants and refreshes a resident population of about 1.5 million white-collar visa workers — including approximately one million H-1B workers and spouses — and about 500,000 blue-collar visa workers.

The government also prints out more than one million work permits for foreigners, it tolerates about eight million illegal workers, and it does not punish companies for employing the hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants who sneak across the border or overstay their legal visas each year.
