BUILDING AN ISLAMIC STATE IN AMERICA, ONE CHURCH AT A TIME

Across Europe, thousands of churches have closed and many of them have become mosques. The St. Mark’s Cathedral in London survived Nazi bombers in WW2, but fell to a new invasion and became the New Peckham Mosque. In France, where there are now more Muslims than practicing Catholics, the Islamic colonists demanded that thousands of empty churches be turned into mosques. The Capernaum Church in Germany has become the Al-Nour Islamic Center. In Amsterdam, the St. Ignatius Church was transformed into the Fatih Camii Mosque. Its name means ‘The Conqueror’s Mosque’.

The original Fatih Camii Mosque had been built by the Turkish invaders in Constantinople on the site of the Church of the Holy Apostles. Like their ISIS descendants, the Turks drove out the Greek Christians, destroyed the church and replaced it with a mosque named after the monster Mehmed II, who inaugurated Islamic rule over the fallen city with slavery, rape and beheadings in the ISIS style.

Today ‘Conqueror’s Mosques’ have sprung up not only in Istanbul and Amsterdam, but in Paris, Toronto, Melbourne and Brooklyn, where within sight of the Statue of Liberty extending her torch of freedom to the oppressed of the world, stands the grim squalid outpost of the oppressor of the world.

Mehmed and the Statue of Liberty, the armies of Islam and our way of freedom cannot long coexist.

Islam is conquering Europe. It is also conquering America.

James Dale Davidson: Current Global Crash Is a 'Rerun of 1929'

The current global stock-market crash is eerily reminiscent of the Wall Street crash of 1929, investment expert and author James Dale Davidson told Newsmax TV.

“What we're seeing, if I could say it this way, is a rerun of 1929 with the main crash falling in Shanghai rather than in Wall Street,” he told “Newsmax Prime.”

“If you're not scared, you're not watching,” he said. “Since the last time I was on Newsmax TV on the 11th of August to discuss the Chinese devaluation, which was a small step, I said it was only the beginning of a major change that was going on. And since that time, $5 trillion have gone to money heaven, which is a significant change,” he said.

U.S. To Accept Up To 8,000 Syrian Refugees Next Year

Between 5,000 and 8,000 Syrian refugees will be welcomed into the U.S. next year, officials said Monday.

Calling the U.S. a "leader" in resettling refugees, State Department spokesman John Kirby said the U.N. refugee agency has referred 15,000 Syrian refugees to the U.S., according to AFP News Agency.

More than 4 million Syrians have become homeless since civil war broke out in the country in 2011. Though the U.S. has contributed $4 billion in humanitarian aid to help with refugee resettlement, as of June the country had taken in fewer than 1,000 Syrians.

Kirby said this work was "not the metric of success," instead focusing on how he says the U.S. is helping to bring about reform within Syria so refugees can return to their home country.

No, Mars Won't Be As Big as the Moon in the Sky Tonight

Sorry, skywatchers: Despite what you may have heard, Mars won't look as big as the moon overhead tonight (Aug. 27).

The "Mars Hoax" has been popping up every Aug. 27 since 2003, when it was born in a widely misinterpreted email. The unknown sender of that message was trying to get people excited about an unusually close approach of Mars to Earth in late August 2003.

"The encounter will culminate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles (55,763,108 kilometers) of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky," one paragraph of the email reads. "It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification, Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. Mars will be easy to spot."

Solyndra lied to get loan guarantee, investigators say

Officials at solar power technology company Solyndra Inc. repeatedly gave false or misleading information to the Department of Energy (DOE) to get the loan guarantee that resulted in widespread condemnation of the Obama administration, an investigation found.

The report released Wednesday is most in-depth probe into the Solyndra scandal, which became a popular talking point to criticize President Obama’s green policies when the company went belly-up in 2011, just in time for the 2012 presidential election. The DOE’s Office of Inspector General said that Solyndra leaders engaged in a “pattern of false and misleading assertions and statements” both to government employees considering and monitoring its $535 million loan guarantee and to Congress.

The 13-page report outlines the results of a joint investigation the office completed with the FBI.

OBAMA GIVES BIDEN HIS BLESSING TO MULL WHITE HOUSE RUN

Obama could endorse a candidate in the Democratic primary

President Barack Obama is the man in the middle, caught between the White House aspirations of two of his closest advisers: Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

For months, White House officials expected Clinton to be the Democratic nominee in the 2016 election. Some of Obama’s top political advisers moved to New York to run her campaign and Obama appeared to give his tacit approval, saying she would be an “excellent president.”

But that bet on Clinton suddenly looks less certain. With Biden weighing his own presidential run more seriously amid signs of weakness in Clinton’s campaign, the White House faces the prospect of a family feud over who will become heir to Obama’s legacy.

The “Call Me Caitlyn Unisex Adult Costume,” which satirizes the former Olympian’s likeness, as seen on the cover of the July issue of Vanity Fair, sparked outrage online Tuesday, with Twitter users and LGBT advocates describing it as “transphobic.”

Some of those upset by the costume also made violent threats toward anyone considering going as the transgender TV star.

PEDIATRICIANS TARGET GMO FARMS AS CAUSE OF INCREASED BIRTH DEFECTS

As anti-GMO protests pop up

Birth defects are on the rise in Hawaii, leaving many to wonder if pesticides are to blame – including some pediatricians who are witnessing a spike in birth defects in babies.

In the town of Waimea, pediatrician Carla Nelson has seen at least 9 severe heart malformations in babies in the last five years, 10 times more than the national average. For the past three years, Nelson and other local doctors have found themselves at the center of a controversy over whether a cash crop of GM corn modified to withstand pesticides on four of the six main islands is the cause of an economic boom, or the source of the birth defects and illnesses. [1]

Hawaiians have attempted four times to rein in GMO manufacturers over the past two years, to no avail. On August 9, 10,000 people marched through Honolulu’s Waikiki tourist district, some of them holdings signs reading, “We Deserve the Right to Know: Stop Poisoning Paradise” and “Save Hawaii – Stop GMOs.” [1]

“The turnout and the number of groups marching showed how many people are very frustrated with the situation,” says native Hawaiian activist Walter Ritte of the island of Molokai.

It Is Time To Kick Prepping Into Overdrive, Because This Stock Market Crash Is Just The Beginning

If you have not been preparing for what is coming, you need to get off your sofa and you need to start prepping right now

Just remember what happened back in 2008. That crisis took most people totally by surprise.

Millions of Americans lost their jobs, and because most of them were living paycheck to paycheck, all of a sudden most of them couldn’t pay the rent or the mortgage either. Large numbers of families that were once living a comfortable middle class lifestyle suddenly found themselves destitute. Well, this coming crisis is going to be even worse by the time it is all said and done, and it is not just going to be economic in nature. Over the past two trading days, the Dow has gone down more than a thousand points. The shaking that so many have warned about has begun. As this shaking plays out, you and your family will need cash, food, supplies and a whole bunch of other things. If you do not already have everything prepared, then you need to kick your prepping into overdrive because we are on a very compressed time frame now.

But don’t just take my word for it. A top adviser to former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown named Damian McBride is saying the same thing

Baltimore schools short on teachers, principals

BALTIMORE —Baltimore City Public Schools are running short on educators, days before students return to class.

Almost three weeks after holding a teacher jobs fair, Baltimore City is still looking to hire. Officials said the district needs to hire 90 teachers before Monday, and there's also a shortage of principals.

"There have always been vacancies as we open schools," said Marietta English, president of the Baltimore Teachers Union.

English said the district had twice as many vacant classroom jobs a year ago, and even though first-year city teachers are the highest paid in the state, the district is still having a hard time hiring and keeping them.

"It's that they didn't get support. The working conditions were not good for them, and it's a difficult job. It's really a difficult job," English said. "We need bodies in the classroom that have some experience."

Changes in EMT testing sparks concern

MIDDLE RIVER, Md. —Changes in emergency medical technician testing is sparking concern about ambulance crew shortages and public safety.

Top state emergency management officials acknowledge there are some challenges. There is a paradox as the number of new EMTs is climbing, but so is the number of candidates who fail the test or have quit in frustration.

Since last year, when the state went to third-party certification tests online, EMT candidates like Cierra O'Conner are struggling to make the grade. O'Conner, who has failed twice, said the test didn't reflect her classroom training.

"I expected to test on the stuff that I learned through the modules test and what I learned through class," O'Conner said.

"Eight-hundred thirty-nine students have gone through the EMT course. Only 35 percent of them, according to the Maryland Fire-Rescue Institute have successfully passed the final exam," said Bill Dousa, chairman of the Maryland State Firemen's Association.

Trump Quietly Helped Marine Left To Rot In Mexican Prison For 214 Days, Whom Obama Ignored

Trump did this without any fan fare or media attention to help this young american that simply made a wrong turn driving. Have you heard about this before today? Probably not, because the liberal media doesn’t want to cover that, but here is the truth:

Greta Van Susteren told her audience this week that it was true that Donald Trump helped out Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi after his release from a Mexican jail. Greta also said Obama wouldn’t even pick up a phone to help the Marine.

“In all seriousness, Donald did help out Sgt. Tahmooressi. He sent him some money to help him jump start his life. Sgt. Tahmooressi rotted in a Mexican prison for 214 days. President Obama wouldn’t even pick up the phone to help.”

But Obama did have plenty of time to go golfing while Marine Sgt. Tahmooressi rotted in a Mexican prison.

What a loser. Too bad, that once again, Obama does nothing and the private citizens of America are the ones bailing out our heros. What a shame it is that this is the status quo in America. I can’t wait for January 20, 2017.

However, NOAA and several other principal terrestrial temperature datasets – which are subject to measurement, coverage, and bias uncertainties and have been repeatedly revised in a questionable fashion over the past year to show ever greater rates of warming – have not yet reported their December 2014 values.

The two satellite datasets – RSS and UAH – have both reported. Figure 1 shows the mean of the monthly anomalies on the two datasets since the beginning of the record in January 1979.

Trump Considering Carson and Cruz for His VP

The rumor mill is churning full force on who Donald Trump will choose for his VP. I have now heard leaks from both the Trump camp and from Cruz’s that Ted Cruz is being considered as a VP choice for The Donald. They met at Trump’s office in New York City last month and have met approximately four times outside of that meeting. The two are friends and have very nice things to say about each other. They agree on most issues, especially immigration. Ben Carson is also on the short list and Trump’s ex-aide, Roger Stone, is vetting Carson independently. This should be interesting. Can you imagine the meltdowns from both sides of the political aisle? It would be a brilliant political move. If Trump chooses Cruz, you would have a melding of the two most popular conservative campaigns out there and they would be virtually unstoppable as a team. The crowds would be staggering and the landslide win would be historic. As a bennie, it would just scare the living crap out of Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. Now that would be must-see TV.

Mortgage Madness Returns

Last month I bought a house in Potomac, Md., a trade-up on my current home, and was shocked to learn in the ensuing weeks that I couldn't get a mortgage loan. First, I went to PNC bank. Then Wells Fargo. Then another. Denied. Denied. Denied.

No, I don't feel entitled to a loan, and the banks have every right not to lend me money. But my tale of woe tells a broader tale of what is going on in the lending industry these days.

All the bankers told me the same thing: "Steve, if you'd walked in our bank eight years ago with this mortgage application, we would have rubber-stamped it in five minutes, and you would have walked out with a bag of money."

Those were the go-go days of the real estate frenzy when people who worked at McDonald's could walk into a Countrywide and get a $600,000 mortgage. Back then, underwriting standards were tossed out the window.

The Free Market Versus the Bureaucratic State

The U.S. presidential election of 2016 may still be well over a year away, but those who dream of sitting at the desk in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, D.C. are busy scrambling for campaign supporters, financial contributions and potential voters in the party primaries that will influence who will run in the general election.

As the months pass by leading up to the election, Americans will be reminded that they are expected to participate in the democratic process, the experience of political self-government. Self-government in the political sense means that the members of society are supposed to decide through the electoral process those who will hold office in the government.

The people shall choose those who will enable and enforce the laws of the land. The role of political self-government is to assure that those who administer the state are made accountable to those they represent. Elections are meant to allow the people to judge the continuing fitness and integrity of the elected officials, and to help prevent abuses of power.

Political self-government also is meant to be a means of changing both the men and the policies that rule society without recourse to violent revolution or civil war. Democracy introduces civil peace into the political process by eliminating the necessity of taking up arms to remove those in high office. Death and destruction are no longer the price for political change.

Another EPA disaster, this time in rural Georgia

Still reeling from a disaster it created at a Colorado gold mine, the EPA has so far avoided criticism for a similar toxic waste spill in Georgia.

In Greensboro, EPA-funded contractors grading a toxic 19th-century cotton mill site struck a water main, sending the deadly sediment into a nearby creek. Though that accident took place five months ago, the hazard continues as heavy storms — one hit the area Tuesday — wash more soil into the creek.

The sediment flows carry dangerous mercury, lead, arsenic and chromium downstream to Lake Oconee and then to the Oconee River — home to many federally and state protected species.

Lead in the soil at the project site is 20,000 times higher than federal levels established for drinking water, said microbiologist Dave Lewis, who was a top-level scientist during 31 years at the Environmental Protection Agency.

Obama's Green Energy Power Play

This month, the Environmental Protection Agency released its new guidelines for the states to follow in reducing emissions from the power plants that provide reliable electricity for our homes, schools, offices, and hospitals. These regulations will do little to improve the environment, but will significantly increase our monthly electric bills, cause frequent power outages, destroy millions of jobs, and shut down entire companies at a time when the economy needs a boost, not a brake.

The EPA’s “Clean Power Plan for Existing Power Plants” requires states to cut carbon-dioxide emissions from power plants by almost a third from what they were in 2005 — and to do it in just 15 years. Coal-burning power plants and even the cleaner-burning natural-gas-fired plants are the targets, and the Obama administration intends for “green” energy sources like wind and solar to replace them.

Hillary’s email defense is ‘total Bull****’: former State Dept. officials

Many people don’t by Hillary Clinton’s claim that she couldn’t tell if classified emails were classified or not. Among them? Former State Department security officials

Former State Department security officials don’t buy Hillary Clinton’s latest alibi that she couldn’t tell that government emails — which she improperly, if not illegally, kept for several years on an unsecured home server — contained top-secret information because they lacked official markings and weren’t classified until later.

Such messages contain sensitive “keywords” distinguishing them from unclassified information, even if the material didn’t bear a classified heading as she claims.

The secretary would have known better, the department officials say, because she was trained to understand the difference when she was “read in” on procedures to ID and handle classified information by diplomatic security officials in 2009.

She was even reminded about returning “all classified documents, including ones in which the classification status is ‘uncertain,'” before she left. I’m sure she’ll have a new excuse by the end of the day.

Wal-Mart to stop selling AR-15s and similar weapons

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Wal-Mart will stop selling the AR-15 rifle and other semi-automatic weapons at its stores because fewer people are buying them, a spokesman said Wednesday.

The AR-15 rifles and other modern sporting rifles were being sold at less than a third of the company’s 4,600 U.S. stores. Company spokesman Kory Lundberg said Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will remove the remaining inventory as stores transition from summer to fall merchandise, which should take a week or two to complete.

Lundberg said the decision to remove the weapons was not political and that the Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer made the decision earlier this year.

Trump Bashes $4 Billion In Irs Refunds To Illegals

President Obama and Donald Trump see immigration differently. The President’s aggressive executive action on immigration is still being litigated, and Mr. Trump proposes action of a different kind. In the meantime, tax credits and refunds for illegal immigrants have become controversial. Mr. Trump says illegal immigrants get $4.2 billion in tax credits. He can point to a 2011 audit by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. It confirms that individuals who are not authorized to work in the United States were paid $4.2 billion in refundable credits.

It sounds crazy, and yet one source says Trump is the one being unfair, taking this out of context, and not counting their taxes paid. Bear in mind that undocumented immigrants cannot legitimately get Social Security numbers. However, they can file taxes with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number or ITIN. They are not supposed to get the Earned Income Tax Credit, but they can receive the additional child tax credit.

That, rather than Mr. Trump, is the culprit. Mr. Trump might also point out the arguably bigger flap over the illegal immigrants whose status would be legitimized under the President’s executive action. That boondoggle is arguably even bigger, involving the Earned Income Tax Credit. Yet, it is the same refundable tax credit responsible for billions in fraudulent refunds.

Obamacare 'Cadillac tax' to hit 1 in 4 employers that offer health care benefits

Obamacare’s “Cadillac tax” will hit one in four employers that offer health care benefits, a leading industry analyst says in a report being released Tuesday, socking companies with a massive levy that Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill say is unfair to those who have negotiated high-quality plans as part of their jobs.

The Kaiser Family Foundation estimates that 26 percent of companies will be affected by the tax when it takes effect in 2018 and 42 percent of employers will be paying the levy a decade later, signaling just how quickly health care costs are expected to rise — and how valuable the Cadillac plans are.

Kaiser said some employers probably will cut back on the scope of their plans to duck the tax, resulting in coverage with higher deductibles or networks with fewer doctors.

“For the most part, these changes will result in employees paying for a greater share of their health care out-of-pocket,” the study authors wrote.

Stephen Moyer told state officials Wednesday the department lacks administrative measures needed to prevent people with some "pretty outrageous" charges from working in the department, which has about 11,000 employees.

Moyer urged the Board of Public Works to eliminate 63 human resources jobs in the department and reorganize the division to make it more centralized.

The board ended up deferring the request to study ways to accommodate employees slated to lose their jobs who do not face charges.

Home Invasion Turns Deadly In Texas

On May 9th, 2014 Marvin Louis Guy was nicely tucked in and asleep in bed with his wife in their Killeen home. At around 5:30am there was a commotion as his house was being invaded. Startled by men coming in through his window and fearing for his life he did what anyone would have done, he grabbed his gun. It was all over in a couple seconds and Marvin and his wife were still alive. Thankfully he was armed and was a hero for saving his wife’s life from imminent death. He had shot four men in total. One of the thieves was hit in the face, one in the thigh and two bad guys were hit in the chest. All of this perfectly legal in Texas with S.B. 378 “Stand Your Ground” law in place. He had nothing to worry about as everything seemed cut and dry, except for one small detail.

The home invaders were also members of the Kileen S.W.A.T. team. They were doing a no-knock raid on a citizen under the cover of darkness and with no proof or evidence of any wrong doing. An informant, usually some low level druggie that gets caught with drugs, tipped off police that Marvin might be in possession of an illegal substance with intent to sell. That was all they thought they needed to have the judge sign a warrant. Although much of Marvin’s private property was stolen from him during the raid like his laptop and 9mm pistol, no drugs were found.

Air Forces Brushes Off $27 Billion Accounting Error

Air Force leaders on Monday shrugged off concerns that the service got the projected 10-years cost of its next-generation bomber wrong to the tune of more than $27 billion.

Last year, the Air Force told Congress the estimated cost for developing the Long-Range Strike Bomber from fiscal years 2015 to 2024 would be $33.1 billion. This year, the service put the price tag at $58.2 billion between fiscal 2016 and 2026, a 76 percent increase.

The service has since said the actual cost should have been $41.7 billion all along. Beyond that, officials aren’t sweating how such an error occurred in what is estimated to be a $55 billion, multi-decade program.

“There has been no change in the costing factors over the last two years … it was a mistake. It was a regrettable mistake,” Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James said during a Pentagon press briefing.

Antiques Road Show – Delmarva Style

For all of you who have been keeping a special little treasure in your attic, or in the back of the china cupboard, or maybe even in your freezer [!!] – we have just what you have been looking for!

On September 13, Sunday, from 10 to 4, in the Hebron Lions Club Building on W. Church St. in Hebron, five experts will be discussing, identifying, and evaluating your antiques and collectibles. This local version of the popular TV show “Antiques Road Show” will offer the chance to learn more about the many varieties of things we collect, as well as learn of their value. Local Eastern Shore folks who are native to the area often have family items that have been passed down over four, five, or six generations. For much of the area’s history families seldom moved away, and until the latter 20th century there were not large numbers moving in. The result is that it is not unusual to find folks still in possession of a great-great-great grandmother’s mourning veil or a special framed picture. This is what makes this program fit into Westside’s Saving Our Traditions series of public programs exploring our Eastern Shore traditions. It is open to the public and admission is free, though there is a fee for items you might bring for evaluation. The fee is $10 for the first item, and $5 for each item beyond the first. No items will be sold or bought at the show.

Experts who will be offering their insights and sharing their great knowledge at this show are Charlene Upham, Steve Blumenthal, Bill Simms, Jay Banks, and Kathi Beauchasne. The doors will open at 10 am, and it is not necessary to pre-register for the show. Simms, Banks, and Beauchasne each will make brief presentations about their particular collecting focus – Simms on old bottles, crocks, and jugs; Banks on ephemera and advertising collectibles (especially local Lower Shore business ad items), and Beauchasne on old hand-made baskets.

Simms is well known locally as “the man to go to” if you want to know more about old bottles, crocks, and jugs. His own collection numbers in the hundreds, and he has bought and sold even more! He will be bringing some of his collection with him. Banks also collects crocks, but more recently has focused especially on ephemera, or advertising art. This field includes not only advertisements but all sorts of printed graphics, including post cards and greeting cards, among other things.

Upham and Blumenthan, with almost 65 years of combined appraisal experience between them, also have special interests—Upham’s in fine paintings and art, silver, glass, textiles, quilts & coverlets, and collectibles, and Blumenthal’s in coins, currency, and old ships. Should you have a piece of furniture that is too large to bring along, a clear photo of the item will do. Both are themselves collectors of a variety of Eastern Shore collectible items, including old ship hulls! Ms. Upham holds a B.A. in American History and is a second-generation antiques dealer in business since 1978, continuously participating in major East Coast and Midwestern antiques shows.

Dr. Kathi Beauchesne is owner and director of the Center for Research in Basketry Inc., based in Baltimore. For the past several years she has been racing to save the disappearing craft of basket making and with the assistance of the Maryland State Arts Council she has been identifying and recording baskets throughout Maryland. Local folks are invited to bring in their own handmade baskets to have their pieces studied, documented, and evaluated. She especially is looking for baskets from and information about the Marvil Packing Company, fishing baskets, eel pots, household baskets, farm baskets and any other kinds of baskets that have been handed down in Delmarva families for generations!

Light lunch and refreshments will be available from the folks with the Hebron Railroad Station Museum preservation group. Reservations are not required but evaluations will be done in the order of arrival. For more information, email westsidehistorical@gmail.com or phone 410-726-8047.

Jeb Bush: ‘Chill out’ on the ‘anchor baby’ controversy

McALLEN, Tex. — Former Florida governor Jeb Bush on Monday dismissed the controversy surrounding his use of the term “anchor baby,” saying during a visit to this U.S.-Mexico border town that he merely used the term to describe instances in which non-Americans abuse the law to gain citizenship for their children, and that it is more prevalent among Asians.

“What I was talking about was the specific case of fraud being committed where there is organized efforts — and frankly it’s more related to Asian people — coming into our country, having children in that organized effort, taking advantage of a noble concept, which is birthright citizenship,” Bush told reporters during a news conference at Palenque Grill in McAllen.

The former Florida governor’s newly added public event in the Texas town, which sits near the southernmost tip of the state, was designed to paint a sharp contrast between his immigration reform agenda and the platform outlined last week by presidential rival Donald Trump. The business mogul has called for the mass deportation of the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States and for building a wall along the entire southern border.

Obama hits Koch Brothers for opposing solar power

President Obama made a political and an economic case for solar energy Monday, telling an industry summit in Las Vegas that the explosive growth in solar power "has some big fossil fuel interests pretty nervous."

"Now, it's one thing if you're consistent in being free market. It's another thing when you're free market until it's solar that's working and people want to buy and suddenly you're not for it any more," he said.

"When you start seeing massive lobbying efforts backed by fossil fuel interests, or conservative think tanks, or the Koch brothers pushing for new laws to roll back renewable energy standards, or to prevent new clean energy businesses from succeeding, that's s problem," Obama said, singling out industrialists Charles and David Koch for the first time in a climate speech.

Frat suspended over 'freshman daughter drop off' signs

The Sigma Nu chapter at Old Dominion Universityhas been suspended while the school investigates an incident involving controversial banners hung outside an off-campus house, Brad Beacham, executive director of Sigma Nu's national chapter said in a statement Monday, according to WVEC-TV.

Reading, "Rowdy And Fun! Hope your baby girl is ready for a good time," "Freshman daughter drop off" and "Go ahead and drop off mom too," the sexually suggestive posters reportedly targeted incoming female freshmen.

The banners near the university in Norfolk, Va., since removed, have shaken students and administrators alike.

Russia removes foreign detergent, washing power from shops

MOSCOW — Russian authorities have begun to remove foreign brands of detergent and washing powder from stores, claiming that they pose health risks.

The Consumer Protection Agency said in a statement on Tuesday that recent inspections of selected goods by top foreign brands such as Colgate-Palmolive and Procter & Gamble have found high levels of toxic ingredients.

Moscow extended its ban earlier this month on selected food imports from the EU and other countries. Russia, however, has not banned the imports of detergent and washing liquid and most of the producers mentioned by the agency have production facilities in Russia.

The companies listed by the consumer protection agency have not immediately reacted to the allegations.

SWAT Team Raids Wrong Worcester Home, Residents Say

WORCESTER (CBS) — Marianne Diaz and her fiancé, Bryant Alequin, felt their lives were in danger when a SWAT team raided their third-floor apartment on Hillside Street with guns drawn.

Diaz says she grabbed her seven-year-old and 18-month-old girls and prayed while Worcester police officers and State Police troopers executed a search warrant.

“It was terrorizing, and the worst thing I’ve ever been through in my life. They were loud, vulgar, and disgusting in behavior,” she said.

It happened on Wednesday around 5:30 in the morning.

Alequin says he was in the bathroom getting ready for work.

“I was scared, honestly. They put me in handcuffs, they were very tight, and it was ugly,” he said.

Turns out they were not the people police were looking for.

NBC's Chuck Todd Tries to Brand Fiorina As 'A Member of the Professional Political Class'

(CNSNews) - In an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, host Chuck Todd tried to portray Republican Carly Fiorina, who has never held elective office, as "a member of the professional political class." He also took several opportunities to quote people who have called Fiorina ignorant and incompetent.

"You're running as a political outsider," Todd told Fiorina at the beginning of Sunday's interview.

"I am a political outsider," Fiorina responded.

Todd noted that over the last seven years, Fiorinia has advised Sen. John McCain; she made an unsuccessful run for the U.S. Senate in California; and she worked for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the fund-raising group for the GOP.

"That sounds like somebody who has wanted to become a member of the professional political class," Todd declared.

"No, I think it sounds like someone who believes this is a citizen government," Fiorina said. "It was always intended to be a citizen government and so citizens have to be engaged in the process of governance and politics."

Todd also asked Fiorina, who has been sharply critical of Hillary Clinton: "Do you still have great admiration and respect for Hillary Clinton?"
