Snowe to Vote YES on Senate Health Care Bill
*** BREAKING NEWS ***
Liberal GOP Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) has indicated that she will vote for the health care bill currently before the Senate Finance Committee.
"When history calls, history calls," Ms. Snowe said in a statement. "I happen to think the consequences of inaction dictate the urgency of Congress to take every opportunity ... to solve the monumental issues of our time. There are many, many miles to go in this legislative journey."
With Snowe’s vote, Congressional Democrats and the Obama Administration will now claim that ObamaCare has “bi-partisan” support. This will probably be used to help break loose moderate Democrats who face tough re-election battles in 2010.

Breaking News
The Salisbury City Council have agreed to move forward with the new $900,000.00 Fire Boat. It has been reported that your Mayor stated that this would stimulate the economy and put people to work. Not here, you Idiot.
There's much more to come on this issue alone. Quite frankly Folks, I've now seen it all and the City of Salisbury flat out makes me sick to my stomach. There has yet to be one solid comment proving this is a much needed and or well received piece of equipment and I can assure you that EVERY single Fire Department throughout the United States is laughing their A$$ES off at the Taxpayers of Salisbury who fell for this idiotic scam.
Remember, YOU voted for Comegys and Shields, you deserve every ounce of what's coming. As for Hopes, at this point I can almost assure you Ireton will make him your next Fire Chief.
As for Ireton, your statement tonight has closed the deal on just what kind of politician you're going to end up being and quite frankly, you SUCK at what you do.
Obama Orders Secrecy In Stats Of Arrested Illegal Aliens
In Prince William County, the Board Chairman Cory Stewart admitted there isn't much the county can do about this new ruling. The county, will however, continue to arrest and detain anyone found breaking the law.
Middle Class Pays More Under Baucus
The Congressional Budget Office issued a report giving the Baucus health care bill the stamp of deficit-reduction approval, but this was earned only through steep increases in indirect taxes, such as the coverage mandate. The coverage mandate included in Senator Baucus’ health care plan has significant and disturbing implications for middle-class Americans. Individuals earning up to $45,520 and families earning up to $92,640 would need to cut corners to make ends meet, all in response to the indirect tax implicit in a health care mandate.
For individuals making $34,140 or three times the Federal Poverty Level, the Baucus health care proposal could mandate up to $4,097 in annual premiums, a sum which could have been spent on over nine months of food, almost four months of housing or well over a year of utilities. For a family of four making $69,480 or 300% of poverty, a mandated annual premium of $8,338 would be worth the equivalent of over ten months of food, four months of housing or almost two years of utilities. Is this change to the health care system actual “reform”, or something else?
These numbers become even more staggering for insurance purchasers at the upper threshold of the price cap. Individuals earning $45,520, four times the Federal Poverty Level, would be required to pay $5,462 for their health insurance, when they could have used this same money on over a year of food, four months of rent or a year and a half of utilities. A family earning $92,640, 400% of poverty, would be on the hook for $11,117, the equivalent of over a year of food, five months of housing or two years of utilities. This is quite a burden to place on middle-class Americans.
These mandates are the effective equivalent of taxes on the middle class, because those required to purchase and spend large sums of their income on health insurance would be subsidizing the system. Mandates are the means to levy these taxes, but in the end load the same burden upon the shoulders of the average Americans as a tax hike would. Sadly, mandates are not the only way in which Baucus’ proposal will increase the burden on Americans.

WHO IS THE BETTER DECEIVER?
Bush Verse Gore, as you know, was decided in a close election in the state of Florida. I wont bore you with a rehash of Hanging Chad's and court rulings. Though an official recount was not done, several major newspapers did a recount. It showed Bush had won by a larger margin. The media and the Democrat party conspired to hide this from the public. Unfortunately, the Republicans were either not capable or too ignorant to make this fact known. Left to fester, the belief that Bush was an illegitimate President, enabled the Democrats free to smear Bush at will.
Now back to Iraq. Ignoring the role the Clinton administration played in laying the groundwork for the attack on Iraq, it was easy for the Democrats to claim they were duped by Bush into supporting the effort. The fact that Saddam had previously used poison gas against the Kurds and the Iranians ( Gas is a WMD) could be ignored because a nuclear weapon had not been found. When Wilson could find no evidence of Saddam attempting to purchase Yellow Cake with which to produce a bomb, the media found it convenient to ignore other facts. If you recall, in 1982 Israel bombed an attempt to build a nuclear reactor in Iraq. Yellow Cake would have been required for that, so Saddam had to have had a supply. Indeed 5 tons were eventually found and shipped to Canada, which the media managed not to report on and of course, Democrats never acknowledged.
The current financial crises actually commenced during the Carter administration. Carter planted the seed for mortgages that would enable minority home ownership. Nothing much happened on that for the next two administrations, until George W. Bush called a conference to restart the initiative. Democrats quickly took that as their cause aided by their ACORN allies. When Bush realized and attempted to regulate what Freddie Mac and Fannie may were doing, he was blocked by congressional Democrats. How this led to the intricate financial maneuvering while the congress, the SEC, the Federal Reserve and Treasury slept is beyond the ability of this writer. Suffice it to sat, the Democrats managed to absolve themselves of all blame and place it squarely on Bush.
Rahm Emanuel said it best, "Never let a good crises go to waste." By blaming Bush for all the evils in the world, the Democrats feel free to reshape the country in any manner they choose aided by a compliant media. At this point, I believe, Republicans are living in the hope that the Democrat's will overreach and they will win by default.

STATE POLICE HELICOPTER CREWS RESCUE TWO FROM SINKING FISHING BOAT
Shortly before 11:00 a..m. this morning, Trooper 6, the Aviation Command helicopter assigned to the Centreville hangar, was dispatched to the Hooper Island area of Dorchester County in search of a sinking fishing boat. The crew of Trooper 6 was Pilot Jim Billings and flight paramedic First Sergeant J.C. Lewis.
Moments after Trooper 6 launched, Trooper 7, the Aviation Command helicopter assigned to the Southern Maryland Section, was dispatched to assist in the large scale search. The crew of Trooper 7 was Pilot Bob Carolla and flight paramedic Trooper First Class Jeremy Everly.
The initial 9-1-1 call that police received did not specify the area in which the boat was sinking. Due to the victims losing their cell phone in the water, further contact with police was made impossible.
At 11:11 a.m., crews aboard Trooper 6 located the quickly sinking 40-foot fishing vessel. The two victims, both adult males, were seen perched on top of the pilot house with the rest of the vessel below the water. The boat appeared to be very old, possibly dating back to the 1950’s.
Despite the windy conditions and the choppiness of the Chesapeake Bay, Trooper 7 was able to safely hover over the sinking ship to complete the hoist operation. Each victim was individually hoisted to safety aboard the aircraft. The hoists went smoothly and the victims were uninjured.
The victims were transported to Hooper Island and turned over to the Dorchester County EMS for further evaluation. The victims refused treatment.
The men and women of the Maryland State Police Aviation Command perform dozens of similar hoist rescue operations each year. The rescue basket and hoist is just one of the many life-saving combinations on board each State Police helicopter used to rescue people in danger and save lives in Maryland each day.
HR 615 Amendment To Include Congress
Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go to his Website and sign his petition. The process is very simple. I have done just that at:
http://fleming.house.gov/index.html .
Senator Coburn and Congressman Fleming are both physicians. Regardless of your political beliefs, it sure seems reasonable that Congress should have exactly the same medical coverage that they impose on the rest of us. Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

JMB Volleyball Team Celebrates Raising $1,650 With Dig Pink Event
More than 200 fans showed up to cheer on the James M. Bennett Clippers and the Parkside Rams as they battled on the court. The stands were loaded with people wearing pink clothing, from ribbons to T-shirts. The event raised over $1,650 for the cause.
“It was obvious that we were going to reach our initial fundraising goal of $1,000. We had raised that much before the event had begun. However, I never imagined how generous and receptive the community would be. It was amazing to be able to start the ball rolling and watch it take on a life of its own,” said Coach Chris Emge.
Every varsity player on both teams was given the goal of raising $50 each to support this event. Ninety-nine percent of the girls met that goal and most surpassed it. Their overwhelming support shows how dedicated they were to the cause.
As an inaugural event, the success was evident from the very beginning. "This year we set the bar. In years to come, we hope to raise it!" Coach Emge said.
The proceeds from all donations benefited the Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) located in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. Funds are currently devoted to targeted therapies and molecular profiling which is where there has been break throughs in diagnostics and treatment. Side-Out also devotes a portion of the funds to local and national “Life with Cancer” support organizations.

DelDOT Installing New Countdown Pedestrian Crosswalk Signals
Dover -- This year's Delaware Department of Transportation's (DelDOT) Pedestrian Countdown Campaign received a federal grant of approximately $94,000, earmarked for public outreach and education on both the standard pedestrian crossing signals and the new countdown pedestrian signals now being installed throughout the state.
Mark Luszcz, DelDOT's Assistant Chief Traffic Engineer explains, "With this year's theme being 'Countdown for Safety: Coming to a Corner Near You,' countdown signals are being used to provide information to the pedestrian regarding the amount of time remaining to cross the street. Pedestrians will use this information to make better decisions about when to enter the crosswalk. All new and refitted pedestrian crosswalk signals throughout the state will include the new countdown system. However, while being replaced, public education is still required on the proper interpretation of the standard pedestrian crosswalk signal."
Based upon the number of pedestrian/vehicles incidents within the state, the campaign outreach will focus mainly within New Castle County; however there will be outreach in both Kent and Sussex Counties as well. DelDOT will be partnering with both the Sussex and New Castle Counties Community Traffic Safety Program Coordinators (CTSP), University of Delaware Cooperative Extension, DelDOT Project Planners with the "Safe Routes to School Campaign," and DelDOT's Bicycle Safety Programs. Outreach includes public events with them, posters and fliers to state offices, schools, AARP, Adult Communities, and AAA.
The campaign includes radio, print, posters, fliers, and handouts. Informational handouts will be in English and Spanish, with others in both Russian and Polish to educate foreign students doing summer work at the resorts.
What do the crossing symbols mean?
. WALK: The "Walk" symbol indicates that you may to start to cross the street.
. FLASHING HAND: (traditional pedestrian signals) If you have entered the crosswalk, continue to cross the street. If you have not entered the crosswalk, remain there for the next signal cycle.
. FLASHING HAND WITH COUNTDOWN SYMBOL: The flashing hand with a display that shows the number of seconds remaining to cross the intersection safely.
. STEADY HAND: DON'T WALK. Do not start to cross the street. Wait for the next "Walk" signal.
In addition, this campaign will also address and describe the new audio pedestrian signals for those citizens who are visually impaired.
