VA BEACH BASED COAST GUARD INTERDICTS MORE THAN $373 MILLION IN COCAINE
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The crew of the Virginia Beach – based Coast Guard Cutter Vigorous returned from a 55-day deployment in the Eastern Pacific Ocean in support of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Western Hemisphere Strategy Monday.
During the patrol, Vigorous transited more than 10,000 nautical miles in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Within a few days of leaving Virginia Beach, Vigorous interdicted a sailing vessel in the Atlantic Ocean, seizing more than 1,200 pounds of cocaine and detaining the three individuals on board. Vigorous embarked an MH-65 helicopter, trained in aviation and shipboard use of force, then transited through the Panama Canal.
Additionally, Vigorous’ crew conducted seven additional at-sea boardings, detaining nine suspected drug smugglers, preventing 26 metric tons of cocaine, with a wholesale value of more than $373 million, from reaching the United States. Vigorous also rescued three survivors who were found adrift in their vessel more than 200 nautical miles from the nearest point of land.
'Credible threat' to harm Baton Rouge police uncovered after pawn shop burglary, arrests
Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie said Tuesday officers uncovered a "credible threat" against police from one of four burglars who broke into a Government Street pawn shop and stole eight handguns.
Seventeen-year-old Antonio Thomas, caught by police on Government Street shortly after the burglary of the Cash America pawn shop around 2 a.m. Saturday, told detectives he and the other burglars intended to harm officers, Dabadie said.
"We're going to look for bullets to kill police officers," Cpl. L'Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge police spokesman, said the burglar told detectives after he was caught.
Dabadie said the threat to officers, in part, explained the heavy police presence — with many in riot gear — at weekend protests.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities are investigating after they say two guns were stolen from an FBI-issued vehicle in northeast Washington.
FBI spokeswoman Katherine Zackel says the weapons were taken from a Ford Expedition sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 7:49 a.m. Sunday.
During that time, officials say someone smashed a window of the locked vehicle and took a lock box containing the two bureau-issued weapons, which included a handgun and a long gun.

Nation remains on edge after police shootings, officer deaths
The emotional aftershocks from the nation’s recent spate of fatal shootings by and of police intensified Monday, with the Dallas police chief revealing that he and his family have received death threats ever since a gunman killed five officers there last week.
On the eve of a memorial service for those slain officers, Chief David Brown turned highly personal at a news briefing, speaking of the toll the violence is taking on his department.
“We’re all on edge,’’ he said. “My brain is fried. I’m running on fumes. . . . We’re asking cops to do too much in this country.’’

Prayer movement planned on National Mall
WASHINGTON, D.C.- A massive rally that's expected to draw one million Christians to the National Mall to Pray for America is planned for Saturday.
Michael Lombardi is in town early. The Florida resident plans to be a part of the "Together 2016" campaign, which coincides with his own mission to pray for all 50 states.
He has been to 45, but plans to spend the next four months traveling in his black RV to Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and then fly to Hawaii.
It was only a year ago when the 61-year-old took a break from traveling around the world and parts of the U.S. to pray for peace, love and protection.
In January, he decided to pick up where he left off. "I was on a 40-day fast and during that fast God told me to finish what I started 15 years ago, which was to pray over every state in the United states," Lombardi said.

Facebook Accused in $1 Billion Suit of Being Hamas Tool
Lawyers filed a $1 billion lawsuit against Facebook Inc., alleging it allowed the Palestinian militant Hamas group to use the platform to plot attacks that killed four Americans and wounded one in Israel, the West Bank and Jerusalem.
“Facebook has knowingly provided material support and resources to Hamas in the form of Facebook’s online social network platform and communication services,” making it liable for the violence against the five Americans, according to the lawsuit sent to Bloomberg by the office of the Israeli lawyer on the case, Nitsana Darshan-Leitner.
“Simply put, Hamas uses Facebook as a tool for engaging in terrorism,” it said.

New Pokemon App Raises Some Safety Concerns
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A new Pokemon app is bringing back the 90s video game.
Amy Yensi reports the game’s popularity could also bring safety concerns.
The app fuses fantasy and reality in a virtual scavenger hunt. Now authorities are urging players to be careful.
“You just basically have to walk around until you see a Pokemon,” said one player.
All across Maryland, people walked the streets with their eyes glued to their cell phones.
“I’ve been playing since Wednesday, the day it came out,” said Alex Furman. “I’ve been out til about midnight every night.”
Pokemon Go has been downloaded on millions of smart phones since debuting last week. The game is inspired by the original video game launched in 1996 in which you catch, train and battle Pokemon. The app version lets players use GPS to find characters from the game hidden in our world.

Fmr Prosecutor Sues Obama, Al Sharpton For Inciting Race War
A former federal prosecutor has sued President Obama, the founders of Black Lives Matter, Al Sharpton, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, and former US Attorney General Eric Holder for inciting a race war that led to the fatal Dallas police shootings.
The federal class action lawsuit, filed Saturday in Dallas, accuses the defendants of aiding and abetting murder, terrorist promotion of gang activity and civil rights violations of law enforcement officers. It seeks damages of more than $2 billion.
“These (defendants) have incited violence and in fact have a direct link to what happened in Dallas,” said Larry Klayman, who worked in the Department of Justice during the Reagan administration and later founded the conservative advocacy groups Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch. “I hope that law enforcement in Dallas and around the nation will join our class action, it’s a peaceful legal means to fight this. We’ve had it. People are finally starting to speak out.”
The case has been assigned to Judge Sam A. Lindsay, a Clinton appointee who is also African American.

Dems Assigned Conservative Groups to Attack on Senate Floor
Democratic senators have been assigned conservative nonprofit groups to call out by name on the chamber floor in speeches on Monday and Tuesday criticizing corporations and advocacy groups for opposing Democratic climate policies, internal emails reveal.
Nineteen Senate Democrats will attack specific organizations in what they are calling a “web of denial,” according to a schedule of floor speeches circulated by Emily Enderle, a top environmental policy adviser to Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D., R.I.), who is spearheading the effort.
Internal emails about the effort obtained by the Free Beacon reveal a highly coordinated plan between members of Congress and environmental activist groups to fuel a public relations and legal offensive against fossil fuel companies and groups they support.
Enderle’s email also included graphics and suggested tweets to use “as guides as you craft digital content.”
According to her email, Whitehouse and his allies, including Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.), have crafted a schedule for floor speeches on Monday and Tuesday that assigns each participating Senator at least one group to go after by name.

7 Disgusting Things Obama Said While Hijacking Memorial For Slain Dallas Police
On Tuesday, President Obama descended on Dallas to hijack the memorial service for five slain police officers. He’d planned to do this for days – his White House stated in advance that Obama would get political.
But for the first few minutes of Obama’s address, it appeared that he might take stock of the moment and hold himself back.
Then it all collapsed.
Here are the seven worst moments of his latest opportunistic, highly political, egregiously inappropriate address:

EXCLUSIVE: House Letter Calls Clinton Foundation 'Lawless'
A new congressional letter circulating among lawmakers charges the William, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation is a “lawless, ‘Pay-to-Play’ enterprise that has been operating under a cloak of philanthropy for years.”
The letter, obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation, is authored by Tennessee Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn who plans to send it to FBI Director James Comey, Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen and Federal Trade Commission chairwoman Edith Ramirez.
The letter calls upon the three agencies to launch a “public corruption” investigation into the ties between Clinton Foundation donors and Hillary Clinton’s policies as secretary of state.
The letter says there is a “pattern of dealing that personally enriched the Clintons at the expense of American foreign policy.”

Obama Hides Rising Murder Rates
President Barack Obama is claiming that murder rates are declining in Dallas, Los Angeles and nationwide, even though numerous sources of data shows a nationwide spike in murder since he launched his 2014 stigmatize-and-federalize campaign for the nation’s state and local police forces.
“Over the last four or five years during the course of my presidency, violent crime in the United States is the lowest it’s been since probably the 1960’s … in places like New York or Los Angeles or Dallas, you have seen huge drops in the murder rates,” Obama claimed at a July 9 press conference held in Warsaw, Poland.
In fact, murder rates are climbing in Dallas and Los Angeles, and in many other cities.
The murder rate has spiked in Dallas by almost 90 percent during the first five months of 2016..

Black Lives Matter Protesters Chant New Demands After Cops Get Chick-fil-A Delivery at Late-Night Rally
Black Lives Matter protesters gathered outside the Georgia governor’s mansion in Atlanta on Monday evening, only to learn Nathan Deal was out of the country.
But the lack of a governor did not dampen the spirit of the growing group. They reportedly vowed to stay as long as it would take to get a meeting with Atlanta’s Mayor Kasim Reed.
Police were monitoring the protest as a few hundred peaceful demonstrators amassed on the street. In order to manage the traffic flow and protect the protesters, police blocked the roads accessing the street where the governor’s residence is located. This move forced many to park at a nearby shopping mall and walk a few blocks to the protest.
The traffic control move also apparently prevented food and water deliveries to the crowd. This was something the protesters did not enjoy.
So when police got a Chick-fil-A delivery, one protester was not pleased — and let Twitter know about it, complete with video and commentary:

Washington Post Attacks Christian Leaders as ‘Enemies of Equality’
In a macabre hit piece, the Washington Post has launched a smear campaign against important Christian leaders who espouse Biblical morality on homosexuality, labeling them as “enemies of equality.”
Employing hyperbolic, McCarthy-esque rhetoric, Post writer Jonathan Capehart actually states that there is a “vast right-wing conspiracy” out to deny gays in America their “humanity and dignity.” Capehart goes on to say that there is a “conservative cabal actively working the levers of power to block their rights.”
Mining material from the LGBT lobby group “Freedom for All Americans” (FFAA), Capehart says there has been a coordinated attack on LGBT persons under the guise of defense of religious liberty in America, such as “Indiana’s so-called religious freedom law.”
The FFAA created a chart, conveniently reprinted by the Post, blacklisting the Christian leaders most active in opposing same-sex marriage and affirming the rights of Americans to conscientious objection when asked to do something they consider morally wrong.
In his remarkably prescient 2015 dissent in the case of Obergefell v. Hodges, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito predicted that after the Court’s woeful decision proponents of a traditional understanding of marriage would be pilloried despite the Court’s assurances that rights to freedom of conscience would be respected.
“It will be used,” he wrote, “to vilify Americans who are unwilling to assent to the new orthodoxy.”

FEDERAL COURT SIDES WITH GRASSROOTS ACTIVISTS: RNC DELEGATES ARE BOUND TO FOLLOW ELECTION RESULTS
Delegates Remain Committed to Donald J. Trump:
(New York) July 11, 2016 – Senior United States District Judge Robert E. Payne today ruled in favor of Trump campaign delegates who had argued – in line with overwhelming public opinion – that RNC delegates must follow election results and that delegates cannot be stolen at the national convention. Delegate Beau Correll, Jr., had brought the suit against the Commonwealth of Virginia hoping to reject the will of the voters, but was soundly defeated.
Specifically, the Court found that RNC Rule 16, which binds delegates based on their election results, “is in effect presently and that it controls the allocation and binding of delegates as to their voting at convention.” (p. 6) The Court held that the Plaintiff’s “expert testimony” from Erling ‘Curly’ Haugland was not credible, lacked “textual support,” (p.6) and that “delegates are bound by RNC Rule 16.” (p. 7)

Yale Worker Destroys Stained-Glass Window Depicting Slaves
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A former Yale University dining services worker facing criminal charges for destroying a stained-glass window depicting slaves in a cotton field said Tuesday that he should not have done it, but he found the image disturbing.
Corey Menafee, who is black, used a broomstick last month to break the window inside Calhoun College, which has been the target of student protests because it is named for former Vice President John C. Calhoun, an ardent 19th century defender of slavery.
Menafee, 38, appeared in court Tuesday charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor reckless endangerment. He did not enter a plea. Afterward, he told reporters outside New Haven Superior Court that he was upset over the image in the window.

In the early morning hours of June 12, 2016, a lone gunman named Omar Mateen killed 49 and wounded another 53 inside Pulse night club, a self-described gay dance club in Orlando, Florida, making it the worst mass shooting in the history of the United States.
That’s the official narrative told to us by government and media. To quote an official summary of the shooting released by the Orlando Police Department“throughout the day on Sunday, June 12” which is still on the department’s website [bold and colored emphasis supplied]:

On June 12, 2016, just after 2 a.m., an Orlando Police Officer working extra duty at the Pulse Nightclub, located at 1912 S. Orange Ave., responded to shots fired. Our officer engaged in a gun battle with that suspect and the suspect went deeper into the club where more shots were fired. The incident then turned into a hostage situation.
The suspect – later identified as 29-year-old Omar Mir Seddique Mateen of Fort Pierce, Florida – continued shooting inside the club.

Hillary Clinton's Lead Over Trump Shrinks After Controversial Week: Poll - NBC News
Hillary Clinton's lead over Donald Trump narrowed to 3 points this week after several days of controversy following FBI Director James Comey's recommendation that no criminal charges be brought against the former secretary of state over her use of a private email server.
While the developments are certainly good news for the Clinton campaign, Comey's critical statement on Clinton's handling of the matter was not positive. Clinton's lead over Trump has deteriorated in the past couple weeks since her lead peaked two weeks ago.

Man fires 17 shots into officer’s patrol car and home, screams he hates police
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-- March Eugene Ratney, according to Department of Correction records, wasn’t due to be released from prison until this past June 6 after serving half of a 12-year sentence following his conviction as a serious violent felon with a weapon. Ten days later, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were called to an east side address where Ratney’s sister said he had pulled a gun and threatened to kill her.
Investigators now report, and neighbors confirmed, Ratney, on parole, was the man clad in a Black Lives Matter t-shirt and screaming profanities at police, who shot up an IMPD officer’s house not far from his own home early this morning.
The officer and his family were uninjured.
“Think about this, this is your home,” said IMPD Chief Troy Riggs. “If there is one place in this world where you should always feel safe and your family should feel safe, it is in your home.”

U.N. Official 'Accidentally' Crushes Own Throat Right Before Testifying Against Hillary Clinton
Call it conspiracy theory, coincidence or just bad luck, but any time someone is in a position to bring down Hillary Clinton by testifying they wind up dead. In fact, there’s a long history of Clinton-related body counts, with scores of people dying under mysterious circumstances.
Perhaps the most notable is Vince Foster. Foster was a partner at Clinton’s law firm and knew the inner workings of the Clinton Machine. Police ruled that death a suicide, though it is often noted that Foster may have been suicided.
Now, another official has found himself on the wrong end of the Clintons. That John Ashe was a former President of the United Nations General Assembly highlights the fact that no one is safe once in their sights.
And as you might have guessed, there are major inconsistencies with Ashe’s death. It was not only conveniently timed because Ashe died just a few days before being set to testify against Clinton in a corruption case, but official reports indicated he died of a heart attack.
The problem, however, is that police on the scene reported Ashe died when his throat was crushed during a work-outaccident.
The New York Post’s Page Six reported that after Ashe was found dead Wednesday, the U.N. claimed that he had died from a heart attack. Local police officers in Dobbs Ferry, New York, later disputed that claim, saying instead that he died from a workout accident that crushed his throat.

Dallas Chief: Be a Part of the Solution
Dallas' top cop urged young black men who fear the police and are angry about violent confrontations with law enforcement to "get off that protest line" and "become part of the solution."
"We're hiring," Dallas Police Chief David Brown said at a news conference Monday, just days after an ambush by an anti-white gunman in Dallas who killed five law enforcement officers, a Fox News affiliate reports.
"Become a part of the solution. Serve your communities," Brown urged. "We're hiring. Get off that protest line and put an application in. And we'll put you in your neighborhood, and we'll help you resolve some of the problems you're protesting about."
Brown said he himself decided to get into law enforcement in 1983 after he watched his friends get caught up in the crack cocaine epidemic.
"They took an inner city kid like me with flaws and made me their police chief," he said, Fox News reports. "That's an extraordinary city and they have supported me through very difficult challenges. You don't see that everywhere."

An Ordained African-American Minister Asks "What If Whites Strike Back?"
It would serve race mongers well to consider that even a docile old dog will bite you if you mistreat it often enough and long enough. Tangential to same is the reality of the “laws of unintended consequences.”
I’m tired of seeing, reading, and hearing white people blamed for everything from black boys not being able to read to whites being privileged because of the color of their skin. If I am tired of these Americans being used as scapegoats to further the agenda of race mongers, then it is a sure bet that those being unjustly vilified are especially weary of same.
This isn’t 1860 and it certainly isn’t 1955. There are no slaves in America and there are no Jim Crow laws dictating access based on skin color. Specific to that point it is time to remind people like Obama, Al Sharpton, and the New Black Panther Party that the racial discord they are fomenting can become the harbinger of their own peril.
Obama foments racial unrest and a racial divide to further his neo-Leninist agenda. Sharpton foments racial unrest for personal gain. The New Black Panther Party foments racial hostilities and the demonization of whites in the foolish belief they can bring about a Western version of apartheid where blacks rule.

Congress Expected to Leave Town With No Action on Guns, Zika
WASHINGTON (AP) — Congress is expected to exit Washington for a months-long recess with no action on gun control, despite mass shootings in recent weeks and uproar from Democrats who have pushed for new legislation. Efforts to fund the fight against the Zika virus have also stalled, threatening the speedy development of a vaccine to protect women and their babies from Zika.
House Republican leaders tried last week to move legislation that would let federal authorities block gun sales to suspected terrorists, but only if they could prove in court within three days that the suspect was planning to engage in terrorism. It went nowhere as conservatives said it was too restrictive on firearms and too lax on battling extremism. Democrats also opposed the bill, saying it would be ineffective.
Republicans said Tuesday that no votes are expected this week before Congress adjourns for seven weeks until September. Emerging from a morning caucus meeting, Rep. Bill Flores, R-Texas, suggested that instead of legislating on the gun issue, GOP leaders think that more talk is needed.

The public option is back and as dishonest as ever
President Obama is apparently not done lying about his health plan. Having pushed Obamacare with false claims such as the infamous lie “if you like your plan, you can keep it” the President is now calling for the return of the public option without admitting the real goal of the program from the start was to crowd out private insurance and usher in single-payer.
In a piece published by the Journal for the American Medical Association (JAMA) Obama writes:
…the majority of the country has benefited from competition in the Marketplaces, with 88% of enrollees living in counties with at least 3 issuers in 2016, which helps keep costs in these areas low. However, the remaining 12% of enrollees live in areas with only 1 or 2 issuers. Some parts of the country have struggled with limited insurance market competition for many years, which is one reason that, in the original debate over health reform, Congress considered and I supported including a Medicare-like public plan. Public programs like Medicare often deliver care more cost-effectively by curtailing administrative overhead and securing better prices from providers. The public plan did not make it into the final legislation. Now, based on experience with the ACA, I think Congress should revisit a public plan to compete alongside private insurers in areas of the country where competition is limited. Adding a public plan in such areas would strengthen the Marketplace approach, giving consumers more affordable options while also creating savings for the federal government.
The public option is being framed in terms of choice and competition. In reality, it was always intended to be a glide-path to the single-payer system the president and many Democrats really wanted. This isn’t a supposition. The person who created the public option, Jacob Hacker, admitted he would be happy to see it crowd out private insurers over time:

Justice Ginsburg's Trump Comments Raise Red Flags
Some are questioning whether Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was out of line for criticizing Donald Trump in two recent interviews.
Ginsburg, whose liberal views are well known, blasted Trump in interviews with The New York Times and the Associated Press in recent days.
But her comments — among them, "Now it's time for us to move to New Zealand [if Trump wins]" — are causing a bit of a stir.
"I find it baffling actually that she says these things," law professor Arthur Hellman told The Washington Post. "She must know that she shouldn't be. However tempted she might be, she shouldn't be doing it."
The problem with Supreme Court justices taking a public stance against a candidate for office is two-fold: it breaks the tradition of justices mostly not doing so, and it could force her to recuse herself from any future cases involving the candidate because it displays bias...

Sowell: The War on Cops
There was never a more appropriately named book than “The War on Cops” by Heather Mac Donald, published a few weeks ago, on the eve of the greatest escalation of that war by the ambush murders of five policemen in Dallas.
Nor is this war against the police confined to Dallas. It is occurring across the country. Who is to blame?
There is a ton of blame, more than enough to go around to the wide range of people and institutions that have contributed to these disasters. In addition to the murderers who have killed people they don’t even know, there are those who created the atmosphere of blind hatred in which such killers flourish.
Chief among those who generate this poisonous atmosphere are career race hustlers like Al Sharpton and racist institutions like the “Black Lives Matter” movement. All such demagogues need is a situation where there has been a confrontation where someone was white and someone else was black. The facts don’t matter to them.
The same is true of the more upscale, genteel and sophisticated race panderers, including the President of the United States. During his first year in the White House, Barack Obama chastised a white policeman over his handling of an incident with a black professor at Harvard — after admitting that he didn’t know the specific facts.
Nor did he know the specifics when he publicly announced that, if he had a son, that son would look like Trayvon Martin. Are we to decide who is right and who is wrong on the basis of skin color? There was a long history of that in the days of the old Jim Crow South. Are we fighting against racism today or do we just want to put it under new management?
No one should imagine that any of this is helping the black community. The surge in murder rates across the country, in the wake of the anarchy unleashed after the Ferguson, Missouri, and Baltimore riots, has taken a wholly disproportionate number of black lives.
But, to the race hustlers, black lives don’t really matter nearly as much as their chance to get publicity, power, money, votes or whatever else serves their own interests.

Pennsylvania Department of Corrections: K-9 Dies After Being Accidentally Left in Vehicle, Official Says
BENNER TOWNSHIP - An investigation has been launched into the recent death of a dog used in the Drug Interdiction Unit at SCI Rockview, a Pennsylvania Department of Corrections official said Tuesday.
Susan McNaughton, press secretary for the state DOC, said a 2-year-old yellow Lab named Totti was left in a hot vehicle for more than two hours during a training exercise and died on Thursday.
"When the handler realized this fact, he and others rushed to the vehicle and began emergency care of the dog, including hosing him down and carefully cooling him with ice," McNaughton said in a news release.
"At the time that they did this and at the time they took him to a vet, the dog was conscious. Everyone involved was incredibly and understandably upset and concerned for the dog. Unfortunately, the dog did not survive. This has been very devastating for everyone involved. "

Little (c) Marks on Emails to Clinton Tell a Complex Story
What are the little “(c)” marks on these emails?
Hillary Clinton didn’t bother to ask that question, didn’t notice the marks, had good reason to think they were inaccurate, or disregarded that they stood for “confidential.”
The tale of two emails with the cryptic marks in their text illustrates the complexity of the politically charged debate over Clinton’s use of a private email server for official business when she was secretary of state. It also calls into question the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s long-standing insistence that she never sent or received emails “marked classified.”
“That’s not true,” FBI Director James Comey said of Clinton’s frequent assertion when he was questioned at a House committee hearing last week.
The point may be central to a request Republicans have promised to make for Comey to investigate whether Clinton lied to Congress. She used the formulation during her almost 11 hours of testimony in October before a House committee investigating the deadly 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya.
In a television interview on Friday, Clinton modified her standard answer on whether she had sent or received classified information on her private account, now saying she didn’t “believe” she had done so. “As I have said many times, I certainly did not believe that I received or sent any material that was classified,” she told CNN.
John Kirby, the spokesman, said the emails were “call sheets,” routine briefing documents that provide a secretary of state with succinct information before a planned phone call to a foreign leader. While they are initially labeled confidential, Kirby said, they are routinely downgraded to “sensitive but unclassified” or unclassified “once it is clear that the secretary intends to make a call.”

Tell Worcester County not to kill Oliver the cat
ACTION ALERT
Stop Worcester County Animal Control From Killing Oliver
Stop Worcester County Animal Control From Killing Oliver
We urgently need your help—a cat’s life is on the line. The Worcester County, Maryland animal control agency recently impounded a community cat named Oliver, and now they plan to kill him.
Worcester County Animal Control has a horrible record. In 2015, they killed more than 86 percent of all impounded cats. Please speak out so Oliver is not another statistic.
Worcester County Animal Control trapped Oliver after another cat in the area tested positive for rabies. Oliver has been previously vaccinated against rabies, and his eartip shows that he’s part of a Trap-Neuter-Return colony. Killing him is not only inhumane, it’s unnecessary for public health. Oliver can be held for a quarantine period to ensure he doesn’t have rabies—an option practiced by animal control agencies and health departments across the state of Maryland and the nation.
A local rescue organization, that has experience successfully completing similar quarantines, is ready and willing to care for Oliver. But animal control refuses to release Oliver into its custody.
Alley Cat Allies and other rescue groups have reached out to Worcester County Animal Control for information and to offer assistance. However, the department has remained closed off to the people, and is unwilling to even discuss the case.
Worcester County and Ocean City are huge tourist destinations, so your voice is influential and crucial. Please speak out and help us save Oliver.
Sincerely,
Becky Robinson Founder and President, Alley Cat Allies |
P.S. Please share this with your friends and family. We need as many voices as possible if we want to save Oliver!

Newt on GOP's Mission: We Must Go Into 'Every Part of America'
The Republican has a "moral imperative" to "step up to the plate" — and that means serving people in every community in the United States to reverse decades of failed Democratic policies, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tells Newsmax TV.
"We've not had a Republican city councilman in Baltimore since 1942," Gingrich, 73, whom presumptive nominee Donald Trump is considering as a running mate, told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth in an exclusive interview from Paris.
"The city's a disaster," Gingrich told Hayworth. "The police are leaving. They can't recruit new police because they have a prosecutor who is so anti-police."
"There are neighborhoods in Baltimore that are terrible tragedies at a human level," Gingrich told Hayworth, adding that two deadly shootings occurred on Chicago's South Side one recent weekend every hour for 15 hours.
"We can't tolerate that in America," he said.
"The Democrats can't solve it — with their institutions, their ideologies and their policies — and the Republicans don't show up.
"It's time for us to go into every part of America, be clear about the fact that the failures of the left — the failures of their bureaucracy, the failures of their polices, the failures of their leadership — has led to the disaster we’re living in, and then offer dramatic, bold, new solutions.

Police: Suspect hung out of car window, fired multiple rounds at cruiser near Capitol
WASHINGTON (ABC7) — "We heard a bang so we were like what' going on?," says Brittany Wynn.
Chaos erupted on Capitol Hill Tuesday afternoon as a wild police pursuit ended with a crashed car, guns drawn and suspects collared. And much of it was captured on camera by witness Nelson Benitez.
Benitez says, "I was just shocked. I couldn't believe this was happening in front of my building, all these guns drawn out."
Tuesday afternoon police responded to 4th and P Streets in Southwest DC for reports of a man with a gun who jumped into this car with 2 other men. Chief Cathy Lanier says officers chased the silver car at a high rate of speed and just before entering the 3rd Street Tunnel a passenger hung out a window and fired multiple rounds at the pursuing cruiser.

GOP-led Senate passing bills at rate not seen in decades
The Senate is off to its best year since 1990 by at least one measure, with more than 30 of its bills having been signed into law by President Obama.
Eighteen months into Republican control of the Senate, the upper chamber has settled into a new normal. The partisan fights remain, and senators aren’t spending much time on the floor debating bills — but they are passing them, and at a surprising clip.
All told, including the 31 Senate bills and 42 House-written bills, Congress approved 73 measures that Mr. Obama signed into law from January through the end of June. That’s nearly three times the number of bills approved in the first six months of 2015 and 20 more than in 2014, which was the last year Democrats had control of the Senate.
“The new Republican Congress, under the leadership of Sen. McConnell, operates under a dramatically different approach than the Democrats in the previous Congress,” Don Stewart, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, said in a statement. “Sen. McConnell opened the Senate, and despite efforts by the Democrat leadership to block bipartisan legislation, we have returned to a more functioning Senate, and allowed senators to participate in the legislative process. While this isn’t the easy way, it allowed members to have more than dysfunction to show for their time in the Senate.”

Black Vanderbilt professor says Black Lives Matter movement is ‘pure Marxism’
A black law professor at Vanderbilt University believes last week’s cop killings at a Black Lives Matter rally in Dallas should signify the end of the movement, saying it’s a Marxist uprising that’s become a “very destructive force in America.”
“It’s not really addressing the real problems affecting African Americans,” Carol Swain, a prominent Christian conservative, told CNN, Campus Reform reported. “It’s misleading black people. It needs to go.”
She urged CNN viewers to go to the official Black Lives Matter organization’s website to read “what they’re really about.”
“It’s pure Marxism; it talks about state violence, genocide; all of those are buzzwords that are quite destructive,” she said.
Ms. Swain also condemned the media for rushing to judgment following the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

NC Deputies say they were taunted, served tampered food
Deputies in Cleveland County, North Carolina were taunted by employees and served tampered food at a fast food restaurant while taking a lunch break in their uniforms, according law enforcement sources.
"As they walked up to place their orders, the boys in the back cooking the food started yelling at them and calling them names," the wife wrote about her husband's trip to the Zaxby's restaurant in Shelby.
She said her husband and his partner, who were both on duty and in their uniform, ignored the insults and continued ordering.
"Then, as they sat down to eat their food, my husband realized [they] had put the hottest sauce possible on [his] wings - to the point where his food wasn't even fit to eat," she continued.
WBTV spoke to the deputy, who asked that his name not be used. He said the incident happened Sunday afternoon.
Cleveland County Capt. Joel Shores said he was angered but not surprised by the incident.
"Years ago, this profession was respected, it was honored. Now to get ridiculed, to be a target, to possibly get shot at, for little pay... what’s the motivation to be a police officer other than do it because your heart’s in it to help the community?” Shores said.
Shores said it's not about the taunting, that's something they face every day.
“If you’re not ready to be ridiculed, law enforcement is not the job for you, especially in today’s world,” he said.
He wishes people would realize the actions of a few don’t speak for the entire law enforcement community.
“We don’t want to shoot no one. We don’t want to pepper spray. We don’t want to taser, that’s not what we wake up to do. We wake up to protect,” he said.

List of American federal politicians convicted of crimes
This list consists of American politicians convicted of crimes either committed or prosecuted while holding office in the federal government. It includes politicians who were convicted or pleaded guilty in a court of law; and does not include politicians involved in unprosecuted scandals (which may or may not have been illegal in nature), or politicians who have only been arrested or indicted. The list also does not include crimes which occur outside the politician’s tenure unless they specifically stem from acts while they were in office.
Although the convicted politicians are arranged by presidential terms starting with the most recent, many of the crimes have little or no connection to who is President.

State Department Purged Emails About Secret Anti-Netanyahu Campaign
A State Department official deleted emails that included information about a secret campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the country’s last election, according to a Senate investigatory committee that determined the Obama administration transferred tax funds to anti-Netanyahu groups.
The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations disclosed in a massive report on Tuesday that the Obama administration provided U.S. taxpayer dollars to the OneVoice Movement, a liberal group that waged a clandestine campaign to smear and oust Netanyahu from office.
OneVoice, which was awarded $465,000 in U.S. grants through 2014, has been under congressional investigation since 2015, when it was first accused of funneling money to partisan political groups looking to unseat Netanyahu. This type of behavior by non-profit groups is prohibited under U.S. tax law.
The investigation determined that OneVoice redirected State Department funds to anti-Netanyahu efforts and that U.S. officials subsequently erased emails containing information about the administration’s relationship with the non-profit group.

Obama Concedes Shortcomings of Obamacare, Proposes ‘Public Option'
President Obama is urging Congress to revisit a public option for Obamacare in parts of the country where coverage is limited in an article published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Obama noted that while 88 percent of enrollees live in counties with at least three insurers, a large number of Americans live in areas with only one or two insurers.
“Some parts of the country have struggled with limited insurance market competition for many years, which is one reason that, in the original debate over health reform, Congress considered and I supported including a Medicare-like public plan,” Obama wrote. “Now based on experience with the [Affordable Care Act], I think Congress should revisit a public plan to compete alongside private insurers in areas of the country where competition is limited.”
“Adding a public plan in such areas would strengthen the Marketplace approach, giving consumers more affordable options while also creating savings for the federal government,” he added.
While Obama touted the progress his signature health care law has made and referred to it as “the most important health care legislation enacted” since the creation of Medicare and Medicaid, he noted some of the law’s shortcomings while suggesting ways to remedy them.

List of American state and local politicians convicted of crimes
This list includes American politicians at the state and local levels who have been convicted of crimes they committed in office. Private citizens, businessmen and family should not be included, unless they relate to the crime as co-defendants.
The list does not include scandals, accusations, arrests or indictments that have not led lead to convictions. At the bottom of the article are links to related articles which deal with politicians who are involved in scandals (political and sex), as well as differentiating among federal, state and local convictions. Also excluded are crimes which occur outside the politician's tenure in office unless they specifically stem from acts during his time of service.
Entries are arranged by date, from most current to less recent, and by state.

Republican congressman says Obama's 'instigation' contributes to police hostility
Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas, is linking "instigation" by President Obama and other politicians to the shooting of Dallas police officers.
In a statement released Friday after the shooting that left five offers dead and seven wounded, Williams blames the "spread of information and constant instigation" by both Obama and "other prominent" leaders on the increased violence.
This, he says, has "contributed to the modern day hostility we are witnessing between the police and those they serve."

Poll: Majority of Texans Support Trump Muslim Ban, Border Wall
Despite his March loss in the 2016 Presidential Primary for Texas, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s proposals for a southern border wall and a temporary ban on the entry of noncitizen Muslims to the United States enjoy majority support among the state’s registered voters.
The Texas Tribune/University of Texas poll finds that 53 percent of Texas’ registered voters claim to “somewhat” or “strongly support” Trump’s proposal to ban non-U.S. citizen Muslims from entering the country. Though it should shock no one that Republicans are generally favorable of the idea, registered Democrats’ significant approval of the same helps to justify the poll’s headline finding. Roughly 26% of Texas Democrats at least “somewhat” supported the plan with an additional eight percent still uncertain. Just more than 50 percent of independents agreed as well.
The question posed to respondents regarding the ban is without much of the details usually included among Trump and his surrogates. The campaign has often asserted that such a move would be “temporary” or even targeted to known terror havens. The survey simplyasked, “Would you support or oppose banning Muslims who are not U.S. citizens from entering the United States?”

Philippines President Calls Out Chinese Drug Lords by Name, Vows: ‘You Will Die’
President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines has warned imprisoned Chinese drug lords — and those still at large who have since left the Philippines — not to continue to disturb the peace in his nation, warning them that, should they remain active in the drug trade, “you will die.”
Duterte, who won the presidency on a law and order campaign and eradicated drug crime as mayor of southern Davao city for two decades, named three major known drug traffickers operating in the country during a televised speech. The three — Peter Co, Peter Lim, and Herbert Colangco — are of Chinese origin, and only Lim is currently not in prison.
“Peter Co, do not escape from prison. You will die. Colangco, never try to go out of prison. You will die,” he announced. To Lim, he said, “Better tell him not to come back to the Philippines anymore. The moment he steps out of the plane, he will die.”
According to the regional news outlet Rappler, the two imprisoned drug traffickers are believed to still be active, running their business from within prison. High-profile drug lords are often able to bribe police officers to allow the practice to go on.
