NYPD Officer Charged In Shooting Of Unarmed Man
NEW YORK – A New York Police Department officer has been indicted in the shooting in February of an unarmed man who was pursued into his Bronx home amid a crackdown on street corner drug dealing, according to a law enforcement official.
Officer Richard Haste, 30, is to surrender Wednesday morning to face manslaughter charges in the death of 18-year-old Ramarley Graham, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because the indictment hadn't been made public.
The NYPD declined to comment. Prosecutors in the Bronx also refused to discuss the outcome of a lengthy investigation; Haste testified before the grand jury for three hours.
The officer's lawyer, Stuart London, said Tuesday he would reserve comment until any indictment is unsealed.

The administration of Florida Gov. Rick Scott is headed to a legal
showdown with two different federal agencies over a contentious voter
purge.
Florida filed a lawsuit in a federal court in Washington D.C., demanding that the state be given the right to check the names of its registered voters against an immigration database maintained by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The lawsuit came the same day that the U.S. Department of Justice announced its plan to ask a federal court to block the state from pushing ahead with removing potential non-U.S. citizens from the voter rolls. Authorities contend that the state's effort violates federal voting laws.

A regular media meme, especially since Republican presidential
candidate Mitt Romney's comments regarding public sector employees last
week, has been that there just aren't enough school teachers in America.
Such statements ignore that according to the Census Bureau, since 1960, the average class size in our public schools has declined by 40 percent as the number of teachers rose almost four times faster than the student population.
In 1960, there were 1.4 million public school teachers educating 36.3 million primary and secondary students. This represented a ratio of one teacher per 25.8 pupils.
In 2009, there were 3.2 million teachers - a 129 percent rise - educating 49.3 million students - a 36 percent rise. This represented a ratio of one teacher per 15.6 students.

Atheist Family Loses Lawsuit to Have ‘Under God’ Removed From the Pledge of Allegiance
Back in February, we told you about an atheist family in Massachusetts that has been engaged in a legal battle to
have “under God” removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. In a press
release sent out on Monday morning, the American Humanist Association
announced that the Middlesex Superior Court ruled against the family.
According to the statement, the atheist parents are already planning an
appeal.
As The Blaze previously reported, the family decided to sue the Acton-Boxborough school system, claiming that the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance with the words “under God” discriminates against their children. The parents, who wish to remain anonymous, are identified only as John and Jane Doe. They have three children in the district — one in high school and two others in middle school.

US Blocks Israel From Turkish-Based Counterterrorism Summit
President Obama has seen a ten-point drop in his support level in the American Jewish community. And no wonder. Over the weekend, the United States blocked Israel from participating in the Global Counterterrorism Forum meeting in Turkey, although Israel has perhaps the best counterterrorism program on the planet. Gov. Brown Tries to Cut Welfare in CA
California Gov. Jerry Brown, alarmed by the state’s $16 billion budget deficit, is supporting a proposal to make a major shift in the state’s welfare program. The cuts, which would amount to only $880 million of the debt of $16 billion, would not solve the problem.
The governor is proposing a major overhaul of the state’s welfare-to-work program with the strategy of slashing people’s benefits to motivate them to get jobs faster. The move, if approved by the state legislature as part of the 2012-13 budget package, would save $880 million -- but beyond the savings, analysts say it might mollify those who believe the state isn’t serious about its budget woes.More

Just when you thought $10,000,000.00 might actually be a decent settlement for the Salisbury Waste Water Treatment Plant, look again!Last night there were TWO people missing from the City Council Meeting. Jim Ireton and Sarah Lake. Funny how she's always there for his hissy fits and leaves immediately following his rants but last night both were conveniently absent.
Mayor Ireton came forward to tell the public that they had settled on $10 million but here's the reality. The taxpayers will be very lucky if the final numbers come anywhere near $5,000,000.00.
You see, first of all there's all that money that went to Paul Wilber. Then there was that Aqua Firm who were the environmental law people who, (I believe) were booted out of the case because of a conflict. Then there was the arrangement for a contingency to Howard Goldberg out of Baltimore.
After reviewing the numbers Howard, (alone) stands to make around $3,000,000.00. WHY, because Ireton and his minions are IDIOTS. You might pay out 30% to a Firm IF it goes through a trial all the way to the end but a settlement, NO WAY. However, the City agreed to do just that and Howard will make out like a bandit.
You see Folks, this is exactly why you need a businessman who has experience in dealing with such cases as your Mayor. If Wilber EVER told ME this was his recommendation I'd ask the Council to have him removed immediately.
Last night they skirted around all kinds of percentages and numbers but when I asked no one was willing to tell me the facts within the final numbers. Today we did some checking around and quite frankly Mayor Ireton should be ASHAMED of himself for implying the taxpayers were feeling a $10,000,000.00 relief from the case.
Also, I'd like to add this. There are other names who have never been brought forth in this entire fiasco in which we will be delivering soon. There are former Council Members who AGREED to this type of treatment system and it was before the Dream Team era. Mind you, the Dream Team agreed to particular contractors but the former Council agreed to the system itself and these people need to be brought front and center.
The Daily Times should have been more respomsibble in their reporting because there's a HUGE difference between $10,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.

For nearly four years, criticisms of Obama’s policies, lack of
business experience and Marxist proclivities have been labeled as
racists attacking him because he’s black. And, of course, he has done
nothing to defuse those ridiculous allegations. But let’s flip these
allegations over for a moment.
If a white man with no business experience of any kind, on any level, were elected president and his economic plan increased government spending, increased government intrusion into private business and increased taxes on the so-called rich – what would criticism of him be because he is white? If this same white president employed failed Keynesian economic strategies, which resulted in his increasing our total national debt more than the first 41 presidents combined, in less than three years of his first term in office – would criticism of him be because he is white? If this hypothetical white president were driving us off an economic cliff from which economists say there is no return, would criticism of him be because he is white?

An "environmentalist" is a totalitarian socialist whose real objective is to revive socialism and economic central planning under the subterfuge of "saving the planet" from capitalism. He is "green" on the outside, but red on the inside, and is hence appropriately labeled a "watermelon."
A conservationist, by contrast, is someone who is actually interested in solving environmental and ecological problems and protecting wildlife and its habitat. He does not propose having government force a separation of man and nature by nationalizing land and other resources, confiscating private property, prohibiting the raising of certain types of animals, regulating human food intake, etc. He is not a socialist ideologue who is hell bent on destroying capitalism. He does not publicly wish that a "new virus" will come along and kill millions, as the founder of "Earth First" once did. More often than not, he seeks ways to use the institutions of capitalism to solve environmental problems. There is even a new name for such a person: enviropreneur. Or he may call himself a "free-market environmentalist" who understands how property rights, common law, and markets can solve many environmental problems, as indeed they have.

KKK Wants to ‘Adopt’ Highway in Georgia
A group affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan wants to "adopt" a mile-long stretch of highway in Georgia.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Georgia Department of Transportation is currently reviewing the May 21 request—filed by International Keystone Knights of the KKK in Union County—to clean up part of Route 515 in the Appalachian Mountains in Blairsville.
"Any civic-minded organization, business, individual, family, city, county, state, or federal agency is welcome to volunteer in the Georgia Adopt-A-Highway program," according to the department's website.

The average American family lost 38.8 percent of its wealth from 2007 to 2010, with the biggest losses concentrated among households with the most assets tied to their homes, a Federal Reserve study shows.
Median net worth declined to $77,300 in 2010, an 18-year low, from $126,400 in 2007, the Fed said in its Survey of Consumer Finances. Mean net worth fell 14.7 percent to a nine-year low of $498,800 from $584,600.
Next to get smashed are all those holding long term Treasury securities, who think that is a safe haven, despite the likelihood of accelerating inflation down the road.

On May 16 U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest upheld her decision to block the controversial indefinite detention provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2012, and the Obama Administration made a request for a more detailed explanation.
The defendants — Barack Obama, Leon Panetta, John McCain, John Boehner, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell and Eric Cantor — argued that the order only stopped the government from indefinitely detaining the journalists and activists who brought the lawsuit.
But Judge Forrest has now clarified the injunction in a 8-page memorandum released Wednesday so as to "leave no doubt" that U.S. citizens cannot be indefinitely detained without due process.

But as a recent Tampa Bay Times investigation [2] indicates, the Martin incident is far from the only example of the law’s reach in Florida. The paper identified nearly 200 instances [3] since 2005 where the state’s Stand Your Ground law has played a factor in prosecutors’ decisions, jury acquittals or a judge’s call to throw out the charges. (Not all the cases involved killings. Some involved assaults where the person didn’t die.)
The law [4] removes a person’s duty to retreat before using deadly force against another in any place he has the legal right to be – so long as he reasonably believed he or someone else faced imminent death or great bodily harm. Among the Stand Your Ground cases identified by the paper, defendants went free nearly 70 percent of the time [5].

Krystle Marie Reyes, of Salem, Ore. allegedly weaseled more than $2 million from the state by filing a false return using automated TurboTax software, according to a police affadavit.
Reyes, 25, reported $3 million in wages and claimed $2.1 million in refunds, which worked its way through TurboTax's system and was approved by the state. Soon enough, a Visa debit card loaded with the refund was in her hands.
What's bizarre about the situation is how Reyes was caught. She reported another debit card as lost or stolen to the issuer, which apparently saw enough red flags to get the state's revenue service on the case. The affidavit doesn't say how much cash was loaded on the second card or whether it was obtained through a fraudulent tax return as well.

Infant Had Booze In System
A California mom is accused of mixing booze with her 5-month-old daughter's baby formula and then feeding it to her.
Iesha Hill, 26, was arrested Saturday in Stockton after she realized her daughter had alcohol in her system and took her to the hospital, according to Fox 40.

2012 Click It Or Ticket Enforcement Results
Dover – Over the past two weeks, officers from approximately 17 State, County, and municipal law enforcement agencies issued a total of 1,041 citations to unbuckled motorists during the 11th annual Click It or Ticket campaign. The enforcement portion of the campaign ran from May 14th through 28th and involved traffic safety checkpoints and saturation patrols both day and night.
For the fifth year in a row officers participating in Click It or Ticket issued fewer seat belt citations than the year before. In 2008, officers issued 2,347 citations – that is 335 more issued than in 2009, 708 more issued than in 2010, and 1,152 more issued than in 2011, and 1,306 more than this year. Office of Highway Safety (OHS) officials believe that this tread means more motorists are buckling up but OHS knows that there is still more work to be done to ensure everyone is buckling up every trip, every time.
On Sunday June 10th there was a crash in Dover that left two people seriously injured. They were not buckled up. The incident involved two vehicles. One vehicle, which overturned, had 12 vehicle occupants and only the driver was wearing a seat belt. A four year old female passenger, who was not properly restrained, was ejected from the vehicle. She was flown from the scene by Delaware State Police helicopter and transported to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she was admitted in critical condition. Another passenger, one year old male, who was also not properly restrained, was flown from the scene by Delaware State Police helicopter. He was transported to the A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children where he was admitted in serious condition. This crash is a good example of how proper use of seat belts may have prevented these serious injuries.
Delaware’s current statewide seat belt usage rate is 90%. OHS officials have begun their evaluation to determine if there has been any increase in the state’s belt usage rate in the last year by conducting a series of observational seat belt surveys at locations throughout Delaware. Persuading those in power to limit their power via "consensus" doesn't work. Both the legal system and the horse-trading politics of "consensus" have failed.
How do you get "consensus" in politics? You horse-trade. You give everybody something they want. You cut everyone into the deal. That passes for "consensus" in politics: divide the swag.
If you want to understand President Obama's failure as a leader, ask (as my friend G.F.B. did) where did he learn politics? In Chicago. Big-city politics boils down to getting the ward bosses, ethnic-neighborhood leaders, Chamber of Commerce and public unions together and making them all happy with concessions, give-aways or some other slice of swag so they all agree to to support some minor policy tweak of the Status Quo.
Any constituency left out of the swag distribution squeals like a stuck pig and kills the "consensus."

The Maryland State Firemen’s Association comes to town June 17-20 to celebrate their 120th Annual Fireman’s Convention. Once again, the convention will include a parade downBaltimore Avenue. This year’s parade will begin at1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20.
Downtown traffic patterns will be affected as follows: Beginning at 11 a.m.on the day of the parade, all northbound traffic on Baltimore Avenuewill be diverted to Philadelphia Avenueat 9th Street. The parade, which will utilize the northbound lanes of Baltimore Avenue from 15th Street to 31st Street, will prohibit all traffic on Baltimore Avenue north of 15th Street.
Residents and visitors are likely to see traffic delays onBaltimore Avenueas early as10 a.m.and should expect congestion until after5 p.m. Citizens should consider using alternate routes intoOceanCityduring these times in order to avoid traffic delays.

Apparently, the United Nations has been pressing for a global internet tax that would hit Google, Facebook, Apple, and Netflix. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a subset of the UN, wants to add a provision to a current treaty that would impose costs on popular websites and their network providers for non-U.S. users. Both the Obama administration and Republicans in Congress have raised the issue as a significant danger.

Navy Drone Crashes Off Maryland; No Injuries
A U.S. Navy drone flying out of Patuxent River Naval Air Station crashed Monday after operators lost contact with the aircraft, NBC News reported.
The BAMS-D (Broad Area Maritime Surveillance), an unmanned demonstrator aircraft that’s still in development, went down in a swampy area of nearby Bloodworth Island on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The 44-foot aircraft was on a training flight when it went down.
There were no reported injuries on the ground and no damage to property. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The Coast Guard set up a safety zone around the marshy area along the Nanticoke River where the crash occurred, The Associated Press reported.

Maloney attempted to avoid the car by moving to the left lane, but struck the Maxima on the driver’s side. The van continued in a northwesterly direction before striking a yield sign in the median and then overturning several times before coming to a stop. The Maxima was pushed in a clockwise direction and came to a stop in the northbound lanes.
Charles, who was properly restrained, was extricated from the vehicle by EMS and transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was admitted for observation due to her being eight months pregnant. She did not have any life-threatening injuries.
Maloney, who was properly restrained, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries.
Charles was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and No Proof of Insurance.

Supreme Court Deals Blow to Guantánamo Prisoners Challenging Their Detention
The US Supreme Court on Monday refused to take up multiple appeals examining whether suspected Al Qaeda and Taliban detainees at Guantánamo are being afforded a “meaningful opportunity” to challenge the legality of their open-ended detention.
The high court turned aside appeals filed on behalf of seven Guantánamo detainees. The action came without comment from the justices, but it carried enormous significance.
It lets stand without additional judicial review a series of appeals court rulings since July 2010 that have made it increasingly difficult for Guantánamo detainees to win their cases.

Suspects: Thomas Anthony Honaker Age 18, Bel-Air, Maryland

On June 9, 2012, a Worcester County Deputy was dispatched to the area of Route 113 and Goody Hill Road, Newark, Maryland in reference to a reported passed out male on the shoulder of the roadway. Upon the deputy’s arrival, he observed several vehicles stopped on the shoulder of the roadway. The deputy attempted to make contact with the subject who was identified as Thomas Honaker, age 18 of Bel-Air, Maryland. Mr. Honaker then ran from the deputy and attempted to enter a bystander’s vehicle. As the deputy approached Mr. Honaker again, Mr. Honaker began kicking the deputy and refused to comply with verbal commands. The outlook is driven by local factors rather than any kind of wave for or against either major political party. Indeed, the lack of a national tide could help the Republicans hold the House, where they're expected to lose seats but not enough to cost them the majority.

For the past 6 years Councilwoman Debbie Campbell has been challenging the former Mayor, the current Mayor as well as the former Council referencing the City's Insurance.
Mrs. Campbell knew that IF the current Insurance Company, (LEGIT) was challenged it could save the taxpayers quite a bit of money.
Well, the NEW Council majority voted to investigate these fees and get quotes from other Insurance Companies.
Low and behold, interesting how LEGIT came back with a NEW bid $95,000.00 LESS than what they had been charging. Now I want you to think about this. IF Barrie Tilghman and Mike Dunn had simply allowed this to go to bid the City could have saved around $600,000.00!
This is EXACTLY why I am interested in being your next Mayor. These people don't know how to run a business. It would appear its all about special interests and that will end.

White House: Bryson to Take Medical Leave
The White House says Commerce Secretary John Bryson will take a
medical leave as he undergoes tests and evaluations after suffering a
seizure in connection with two traffic accidents in the Los Angeles
area.
White House press secretary Jay Carney said in a statement Monday that President Barack Obama's thoughts were with Bryson and his family.
The Commerce Department said Bryson transferred his functions and duties as secretary to Deputy Secretary Rebecca Blank, who is now acting commerce secretary.

Wealth Versus Job Creation
"When you're president, as opposed to the head of a private equity firm, your job is not simply to maximize profits," said president Obama recently. He added, "Your job is to figure out how everybody in the country has a fair shot. Your job is to think about those workers who get laid off, and how do we pay for their re-training?" Obama continued: "My job is to take into account everybody, not just some. My job is to make sure that the country is growing not just now, but 10 years from now, 20 years from now."
To begin with, it is not the job of the president of the United States to manage the country's economic affairs. His job is to administer a system of public policies aimed at protecting everyone's rights as a citizen. That means everyone's rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness or, in short, the liberty of all. Not the welfare or employment or happiness of all but everyone's right to pursue these values. Just like the cop on the beat, the task isn't to get everyone to where he or she is going but to secure everyone's liberty to go wherever he or she wants to go, including, if that's how the citizenry chooses, staying put. (Freedom has no particular goal; it has to do with making it possible for citizens to choose their goals, so long as these are peaceful ones.)
But there is also Mr. Obama's colossal ignorance of economics: Jobs are created when wealth is spent! So when some firm, be it a ma and pa grocery story or a massive equity corporation, makes profits, those who own the profits, the wealth Mr. Obama so callously demeans, then proceed to spend on various goods and services they wish to have. No one just wants wealth − a bunch of resources sitting in a bank or wherever. The wealth is supposed to serve as a means to obtain one's children's healthcare, education, the family's vacation, recreational facilities, etc. And all of this is produced by people with jobs. Without the wealth, the jobs dry up.
So when capitalist institutions enable those who earn profits with their efforts, they are as close to creating jobs as anyone can possibly get.

The latest New York Times CBS Poll shows just 44 percent of Americans approve the job the Supreme Court is doing. Fully three-quarters say justices' decisions are sometimes influenced by their personal political views.
The trend is clearly downward. Approval of the Court reached 66 percent in the late 1980s, and by 2000 had slipped to around 50 percent.
As the Times points out, the decline may stem in part from Americans' growing distrust in recent years of major institutions in general and the government in particular.
But it's just as likely to reflect a sense that the Court is more political, especially after it divided in such partisan ways in the 5-4 decisions Bush v. Gore (which decided the 2000 presidential race) and Citizen's United (which in 2010 opened the floodgates to unlimited campaign spending).
Americans' diminishing respect for the Court can be heard on the right and left of our increasingly polarized political spectrum.

Brinton Wellington Cox, 30yoa of Eden, MD was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Burglary, 1st & 2nd degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, False Imprisonment, & MDOP < $500.
On June 9, 2012 at approximately 12:48am, officers responded to 311 Naylor Mill Rd for a complaint of a female screaming for help.
On arrival, officers met with two witnesses who observed Cox push the victim into her apartment. Several minutes later the witnesses heard yelling and screaming coming from the victim’s apartment. Witnesses said that while they waited for the police to arrive, they watched Cox swing at and strike the victim.
Officers made entry into the apartment and found Cox standing over the victim. Officers found the victim had numerous injuries to her face and head. It was learned from the victim that Cox
had struck and kicked her several times in the head area as well as struck the victim with a glass wall clock.
Cox was released to the custody of central booking. Linda Sue Roberts, 55yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Disturbance of the Peace, Fail
to Obey a Lawful Order, and Resist Arrest.
On June 9, 2012 at approximately 7:45pm, an officer responded to the Royal Farms Store located at 101 N Salisbury Blvd for an unknown problem. On the arrival of the officer, he met with complainants who advised that Roberts was yelling, screaming, and cursing at them. In addition, Roberts had also threatened one of the complainants. Roberts had left the property, but returned and continued to yell and curse. She was asked by the officer to quiet down which she did very briefly. Roberts again became very disorderly and was placed under arrest. As the
officer was attempting to handcuff Roberts, she pulled away and would not allow the officer to secure her wrist. Roberts was eventually subdued.
Roberts was released to the custody of central booking.
Vickie Ramsingh, 28yo of Salisbury, MD was arrested and charged with 2nd degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and False Imprisonment.
On June 10, 2012 at approximately 5:44am, officers responded to the 200 block of Broad St for a reported assault. On arrival officers met with the victim who advised that she had gotten into
a verbal argument with her boyfriend, Ramsingh. The argument turned physical and Ramsingh began to push the victim around the apartment. Ramsingh then locked the victim and himself in
the bedroom where he pushed the victim onto the bed and began to choke the victim. The victim was able to get Ramsingh off of her but Ramsingh continued to hit and push the victim. The
victim was able to get away from Ramsingh and call the police.
Ramsingh fled from the scene prior to officers’ arrival but was located in the Railroad Ave area.
Ramsingh was released to the custody of central booking.

Vietnam Memorial Closed to Vets so Obama Can Have Photo OP
I received an email yesterday that I had mixed feeling about. I was mad and sad at the same time. I thought surely this can not be true. I set out to try to find out more information on this.
After searching I found that none of the main news station had anything on it. I could not find a story on MSNBC, CNN, Fox or any others that I checked.
What I did find was a few blogs and other websites that had information about it. After you read the email you can visit a blog that has pictures of how it looked on Memorial day and also how it should look.
Today as I usually do each Memorial Day and Veterans Day, I joined my fellow
Soldiers I served with in Vietnam to lay a wreath for our fallen at the
Vietnam Veterans Wall. We always gather at 0903 hours at the Three Soldier's
Monument. There we meet for a while and talk, see how everyone is doing, if
anyone needs help, introduce any new guys from out of town who are visiting,
new guys who are joining us for the first time, introduce any members of our
family or friends who have come with us, always followed by a few remarks
about fellow members of the Blackhorse Regiment who had passed since we had
last gathered and then we welcome each other home. Today after walking
across Memorial Bridge and rounding the Lincoln Memorial I saw our guys all
gathering outside of a barricade around the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. When
I joined them I found out to my total disbelief that we could not enter. No
veterans allowed. The reason was that Obama was coming there to make a
speech and the area was closed to everyone except special people with
special passes until his speech was over 5 hours later. I was stunned.
Thousands of Vietnam veterans gathering like us with wreaths in hand to
recognize our fallen and turned away so that a politician could give a
speech.
Most of us had been there when Reagan spoke, Bush 41 and 43 had spoken, even
Clinton, although most of us turned our backs on him in one of the largest,
silent protests ever...seen by everyone...stinging in its impact...totally
unreported by the media...but even then, we were not turned away. Today we
were. I saw where in a poll where Obama is over 25 points behind Romney with
Vets...if they all had seen what we experienced today and knew what had
transpired, the spread would be much wider. I doubt if this will even be
reported in the media. But, it should. This was not our day...it was their
day...the boys who lost their lives. But it was their brothers day to come
and touch their names on the Wall and remember them. It was also Decoration
Day...the day we recognize those who gave all for all of us. It was not
about our narcissist president and his attempt to appeal to the Vietnam Vets
for votes. Shut out, we met next to a hot dog stand under a shade tree and
held our semi-annual ritual for our fallen. Later that day, one of our men
stayed behind and saw to it that the wreath was placed at that section of
the Wall when we lost the most during the war. We won every battle in that
war and were denied victory. We had to listen to an illiterate world say
that we had lost our war. Our troops suffered more degradation, insult,
hatred, and disgust from our countrymen than all other US troops from all
wars combined. We came home to a country that didn't want us...and to many
countrymen who loathed us...but yet we persevered. Today...was just one more
cut...but it was a cut that will not heal any time soon.

hatred, and disgust from our countrymen than all other US troops from all
wars combined. We came home to a country that didn't want us...and to many
countrymen who loathed us...but yet we persevered. Today...was just one more
cut...but it was a cut that will not heal any time soon.

Traffic Crash Closes Roadway

Resume:
New Castle- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a traffic crash which has closed a roadway in New Castle.
The incident occurred as David J. Hackett was operating a 2008 Mack dump truck and was traveling on westbound DE Rt. 273 through the intersection of US Rt. 13. The dump portion of Hackett’s truck, which was in the inclined position, stuck a traffic light support cable causing three traffic signals to fall to the ground.
David Hackett was not injured. He was cited by troopers with careless driving.
As a result of the crash, US Rt. 13 northbound has been closed at DE Rt. 273. Traffic is being diverted onto westbound DE Rt. 273 and then to northbound DE Rt. 141 (Basin Road). Commuters should expect heavy delays in the area and are asked to find alternate means of travel.
