This Just In From Mayor Jim Ireton

Dear Joseph ,

Thanks for signing my petition, "Pass Mayor Ireton's Downtown Salisbury Revitalization Plan."

Winning this campaign is now in your hands. We need to reach out to as many friends as we can to grow this campaign and win.

Thanks for your support,

Jim

Ladies & Gentlemen, do you realize what this now proves. It PROVES Jim Ireton's people can hijack ANY one of your Facebook pages and make it look like YOU support him. Yeah, leave it to the liberals to hijack your identity, the Press to put it out there that things are going really well. The entire campaign is a farce. What's next Jimmy, handcuffs?

Ireton's People So Desperate For Names They Even Made Up A Fake Joseph Albero Facebook Name

How desperate can this group of people be to go so far as to illegally make up a Facebook name impersonating me just to get signatures and false support.

A friend wrote me and said, "you're in good company. Mother Superior and Tinker Bell signed it, too!"

So the BIG question is, WHY hasn't the Daily Times, WMDT or WBOC come to me and ask what my plans are for the Downtown area? Because they are ALL so afraid that one guy just might have the actual answers on how to actually turn the Downtown around. It's because they are a group of liberals sticking to each other because they are failing. They are losing business to ONE guy who is up against supposed experts in their field. A novice who simply decided to fight back.

Now they allegedly spoof call me, they create bogus investigations against me, they call the Comptroller with bogus information to defame me, they create false names on Facebook, they stage someone to say nasty things about me, (all untrue) they threaten lawsuits that never happened, television station is right there with three crews just to make sure they get every second of the staged speech, what's next?

The funny part is, Salisbury News keeps growing and the Daily Times has to bring in a big hitter to help save what's left of that so called newspaper, probably to sell it before they go belly up. By the way, how many of you didn't get your newspaper this morning?

Will the Daily Times, WBOC and WMDT publish the false names on this petition? Yeah, leave it to the DEMOCRATS to stage a successful campaign by using false and bogus names. Leave it to your local Main Stream Media to pimp this crap just to continue to defame those people they dislike.

I'll close with this. Do ANY of you actually want your children to be taught by a man who leads in such a way?

Ernest Borgnine Dead: Oscar-Winning Actor Dies At Age 95

LOS ANGELES — He was a tubby tough guy with a pug of a mug, as unlikely a big-screen star or a romantic lead as could be imagined.
Yet Ernest Borgnine won a woman's love and an Academy Award in one of the great lonelyhearts roles in "Marty," a highlight in a workhorse career that spanned nearly seven decades and more than 200 film and television parts.
Borgnine, who died Sunday at 95, worked to the end. One of his final roles was a bit part as a CIA records-keeper in 2011's action comedy "Red" – fittingly for his age, a story of retired spies who show that it's never too late to remain in the game when they're pulled back into action.

Higher Alcohol Taxes Up Maryland Tourism Revenue

Maryland tourism tax revenue increased 7.9 percent between July 2011 and April 2012, a jump attributed to higher taxes on alcohol, state officials said, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.

Through April of fiscal year 2012, tourism tax revenue accounted for nearly $314 million of all state sales tax revenue — up from about $291 million during the same period in fiscal year 2011, the Maryland Office of Tourism Development said in its monthly Maryland Tourism Monitor report.

VIGINLANT EMPLOYEES DETECT COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY, OCEAN CITY POLICE SEEKING ASSISTANCE IDENTIFYING SUSPECTS

Department is warning residents, business owners and employees to be on the lookout for counterfeit currency. On Friday, July 6, 2012, Ocean City Police responded to three boardwalk businesses in reference to two males attempting to pass counterfeit bills.

The first incident, which occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m., took place in the 200 block of Atlantic Avenue, at which time the suspects attempted to make a small purchase with a counterfeit $20 bill. Employees at the establishment recognized the counterfeit currency and denied the sale, at which time the suspects fled the area.

The suspects made two additional attempts, one at approximately 10:54 p.m. in the 100 block of South Atlantic Avenue and the other at 11:10 p.m. in the 400 block of South Atlantic Avenue. In both instances, the employees detected the counterfeit bill by using a counterfeit pen.

The Ocean City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspects who attempted to pass the counterfeit currency. The suspects are described as two African American males.

•One suspect had short, black hair and was wearing a gray shirt and blue pants. He was believed to be approximately 17-years-old and approximately 5’7” tall.
•The second suspect had long, black braided hair, pulled back into a ponytail, and was wearing a black shirt. He had a dark complexion and was believed to be approximately 17 years old and approximately 5’8” tall.

Ocean City Police are asking anyone with iabout this incident, or the suspects involved, to please contact the Ocean City Police Department at 410.723.6600. In addition, Ocean City Police are encouraging citizens to closely examine currency by looking carefully at the money you receive. Citizens should be aware of the security features located on currency. The three main security features located on bills are: shifting inks on the number, security threads, which display the denomination of the currency imbedded in the bill and the watermark of the main image on the face of the bill located on the right side of note.

Ocean City Police Department is offering these tips to detect suspicious or counterfeit currency:

•The genuine portrait appears lifelike and stands out distinctly from the background. The counterfeit portrait is usually lifeless and flat. Details merge into the background, which is often too dark or mottled.
•On a genuine bill, the saw-tooth points of the Federal Reserve and Treasury seals are clear, distinct and sharp. The counterfeit seals may have uneven, blunt or broken saw-tooth points.
•Genuine serial numbers have a distinctive style and are evenly spaced. The serial numbers are printed in the same ink color as the Treasury Seal. On a counterfeit, the serial numbers may differ in color or shade of ink from the Treasury seal. The numbers may not be uniformly spaced or aligned.

Ocean City Police are asking that residents and businesses contact the department if you locate suspicious currency. In addition, the department reminds businesses and community groups that a crime prevention officer is available to conduct counterfeit awareness presentations upon appointment through the Public Affairs Office.

For further information on detecting counterfeit U. S. currency, citizens are encouraged to visit the United States Secret Service Web site at: http://www.secretservice.gov/know_your_money.shtmlnformation

GOVERNOR O’MALLEY CELEBRATES GROUNDBREAKING ON STATE’S LARGEST SOLAR POWER PROJECT

HAGERSTOWN, MD – Joined by local elected officials and representatives from First Solar and FirstEnergy, Governor Martin O’Malley today broke ground on a new, 160 acre solar farm project located on the grounds of the Maryland Correctional Institution (MCI) in Hagerstown. Once built, the Maryland Solar project will produce 20 megawatts of power - enough clean energy to power approximately 2,700 Maryland homes, displacing approximately 23,000 metric tons of CO2 annually - the equivalent of taking 4,400 cars off the road each year. The project will create 125 construction jobs and at least three full time jobs will be created for the lifetime of the panels on the site.

The Maryland Department of General Services conducted a competitive leasing process for the land and the solar project was awarded the lease for a term of 20 years. The project represents FirstEnergy’s fulfillment of its renewable energy commitment pursuant to the negotiated settlement between FirstEnergy and the State as a condition of its merger with Allegheny Power. FirstEnergy Solutions has agreed to purchase the 20MW output for 20 years. Over the term of the lease, First Solar will pay nearly $460,000 in rent to lease the land from the State.

“Job creation is a choice - and when we choose to generate cleaner, greener energy here in Maryland we create Maryland jobs,” said Governor O’Malley. “Innovative partnerships with companies like First Solar and FirstEnergy allow us to continue our progress in advancing solar energy and creating jobs in Maryland. Over the last few years, we’ve helped put 2,000 men and women to work in solar sector jobs and we estimate that over the next six years, we’ll put another 10,000 Marylanders to work in the industry as we work towards our goal of increasing in-state renewable generation by 20 percent.”

Maryland’s Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) - enacted in May 2004 - was amended in 2007 to include a solar requirement of two percent by 2022 and resulted in the development of more than 1,250 MW of solar capacity. In 2008, the O’Malley-Brown Administration signed legislation that more than doubled the overall RPS to 20 percent and accelerated the compliance schedule. This year, legislation passed that accelerated the two percent solar target from 2022 to 2020. Maryland has seen great market growth in solar power since 2007, resulting in the State being named as a “top 10” solar state by the Solar Energy Industries Association. Maryland now supports over 2,000 well-paying solar installation industry jobs—a dramatic increase in only a few years.

First Solar, the world’s premier provider of fully integrated solar solutions, has a 100 percent stake in the Maryland Solar project. “First Solar is pleased to continue its work in Maryland to help the state provide clean, affordable, renewable energy to its citizens,” said Maja Wessels, First Solar Executive Vice President for Global Public Affairs. “We are excited to break ground on Maryland Solar, which is expected to create 125 construction jobs and bring significant economic benefits to Washington County.”

FirstEnergy Corp. subsidiary FirstEnergy Solutions will purchase the facility’s 20-megawatt output for 20 years under a long-term purchase power agreement. The agreement provides the Maryland Solar project the source of guaranteed revenue necessary to obtain financing for its construction. “We are proud to play a key role in the development of renewable energy in Maryland and to help the state meet its renewable energy goals,” said FirstEnergy President and Chief Executive Officer Anthony J. Alexander. “The Maryland Solar project delivers on our solar commitment to the state, and further strengthens our position as one of the region’s leading renewable energy suppliers.”

The Maryland Solar project also involves a unique public-private partnership with Hagerstown Community College (HCC) and the State Department of Public Safety and Correctional Systems (DPSCS). First Solar has agreed to incorporate elements of the construction and ongoing operation of the solar farm into HCC’s growing alternative energy program, allowing students to learn firsthand about what it takes to construct and manage a commercial solar farm. Additionally, First Solar has agreed to allow pre-release inmates at MCI to be participate in the solar farms routine grounds keeping maintenance.

Obama Takes Swipe At Fox

President Obama took a swipe at Fox so-called News on Thursday. While campaigning around Ohio, President Obama stopped at a local bar where a patron informed him that Fox News was playing on the television. The President in jest suggested the patron ought to ask for the channel to be turned since, "the customer is always right." Of course, rumor has it that Fox is already preparing its response to the incident – with a full report blaming one of the President's TV czars for outlawing Fox News, and keeping Americans uninformed about the President's real intention to confiscate everyone's guns and bring Sharia Law to the states. They distort – you decide.

Marijuana "The Gateway Drug"?

For generations, marijuana has been considered the ultimate "gateway drug." But a new study out in the Journal of School Health disproves that theory, and actually find that alcohol – not marijuana – is the ultimate gateway drug. Researchers discovered that the common orthodoxy that marijuana users will move on to try harder drugs is misleading, and that actually, those who start drinking alcohol are the ones more likely to try marijuana and eventually harder drugs. The study showed that seniors in high school who consumed alcohol at least once in their lives were 13 times more likely to sue cigarettes, 16 times more likely to sue marijuana, and 13 times more likely to use harder drugs like cocaine. Researchers concluded that if drug prevention is the goal, then the whole frame needs to be shifted away from marijuana and toward alcohol – one of the most dangerous, yet legal, drugs in America.

The Current Heat Wave Could Lead To A Food Crisis

The global warming heat wave that's been scorching the nation could lead to a food crisis. Corn production has slowed under the withering heat, with only 48% of crops nationally considered to be in good or excellent conditions – that's a drop from 56% a week before the record-breaking heat wave. Half of the corn crops in Indiana were deemed to be in poor shape, and only 26% of the corn crops in Illinois were considered to be in good condition. This food shortage is pushing international grain prices back up to levels not seen since the 2008 global food crisis, when more than 250 million more people on the planet flirted with starvation. Climate Change chaos around the globe is just beginning.

USPS Fighting Back Against The Insider Threat

The Postal Service's E-Access system helps control employee access to systems and data. The single sign-on environment lets managers and database owners assign privileges to employees based on need.

The Postal Service is outpacing nearly every civilian agency in knowing who is on its network and exactly what they are doing.
With more than 220,000 employees authorized to be on its network, USPS is winning the battle against the insider threat.

"We have created over time almost a single sign-on environment which allows us to use the E-Access [application] which is where an employee submits what he wants to be allocated or authorized to against the varying applications or infrastructures. His manager will have to approve his application for those rights, and then the database owner will say it's a legitimate reason to get that information or it's not a legitimate business reason," said Chuck McGann, the service's chief information security officer. "We control the data access that way. Once that happens, [the system] will match up against the Active Directory record for that employee and put him into a particular group and put him into a particular residence factor, which turns around and says, 'Chuck now has access to the Internet or doesn't have access to the Internet,' and that is how we control our environment."

NYC Movie Theaters Fight Back Against Mayor’s Big Soda Ban

While hit new movies might make millionaires out of actors, directors and key grips, movie theaters often make little to no money on the actual ticket sales of high-profile, first-run movies. Instead, they depend on those movies to bring in customers to pay big bucks for huge drinks and buckets of popcorn. Thus, you can imagine why theater owners in New York City aren't exactly doing somersaults in celebration of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's proposed ban of large sodas.

Apartment Rents Rising Nationwide To Highest Average In Five Years

Grumbling over the rising price of rent? You're not the only one — across the country, it's becoming more expensive to rent, with rates rising at a pace that hasn't been seen since before the financial crisis. Fear of even higher rents might be keeping tenants in their apartments as well, as the vacancy rate was the lowest it's been since 2001.

Hope No One Minds If I Just Plunk Down 62,000 Pennies To Pay Off This Mortgage

Money is money, which is why one man figured the bank wouldn't mind all that much if he finally paid off his mortgage with around 62,000 pennies he'd saved over the last 35 years. He said he just wanted his last payment on the house he bought in 1977 with his wife to be "memorable." At two 400-pound boxes, we'd say that penny payment isn't going to be forgotten soon.

At What Age Is It Appropriate To Market Professional Waxing To Girls?

A salon with locations in Florida and New York has a great promotion — waxing for half-off the price of a normal treatment, with one stipulation: You've got to be 15 or younger. Say what now? The reasoning goes, according to the salon, that "girls get bored when they go out with their Moms to do errands." Nothing less boring than getting hair ripped off.

Payrolls In U.S. Rose 80,000 In June; Jobless Rate 8.2%

American employers added fewer workers to payrolls than forecast in June and the jobless rate stayed at 8.2 percent as the economic outlook dimmed.

The 80,000 gain in employment followed a 77,000 increase in May, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. Economists projected a 100,000 rise, according to the median estimate in a Bloomberg News survey. Growth in private payrolls was the weakest in 10 months.

Stocks fell on concern hiring has shifted into a lower gear, restricting consumer spending and leaving the economy more vulnerable to a global slowdown. The figures underscore concern among some Federal Reserve policy makers that growth isn’t fast enough to lower unemployment stuck above 8 percent since February 2009.

Panoramic Image Of Mars

NASA is calling this incredible 360-view of Mars recently beamed down by the agency's Opportunity rover the "next best thing to being there."

The panoramic view is actually a composite of 817 images taken between Dec. 21 2011, and May 8, 2012, while Opportunity was stationed on an outcrop called "Greeley Haven" during the Martian winter.

According to NASA, false color was added to show the difference between materials on the Red Planet (so what you're seeing may not really be that red or blue).

You can see Opportunity's tracks on the left, which have exposed some darker soil underneath. The Endeavor Crater, which spans about 14 miles in diameter, can be seen at the right of the image just below the horizon.

OBAMA - THE GREEN ENERGY PRESIDENT

This is just the short list of energy companies backed by President Barack Obama that have failed. President Obama has wasted tax payer money on these companies and he wants you to re-elect him so he can give you more of the same.

Being the ideologue that he is, he WONT back down from funding more fake (meaning they have never proven themselves profitable or actually have made a product that works)

Can the United States of America REALLY afford FOUR MORE YEARS of this president?

I WONDER WHAT'S IN IT

The cronies have effectively used propaganda and lies to convince Americans that naive and greedy homeowners crashed the global credit markets in 2008.

They blamed the crash and current economic malaise on homeowners who bought too much house.

This couldn’t be further from the truth.

The fact of the matter is that the cronies crashed the global markets when they revealed that there are no mortgages to back the mortgage backed securities. They told Paulsen there was no there there. That’s why he panicked and tossed his cookies.

They could have pulled an Iceland, told the truth, arrested the bad actors and instituted real safeguards to restore the capital markets and consumer confidence.

But they chose to continue the lies and backstop the fraud on the taxpayer’s dime. The cronies covered up their partners’ crimes and orchestrated the bailout.

Snapback - Stockton, Calif. And All The Cities To Follow

Government promises to public employees have created "zero-risk" Wonderlands protected from the market forces of risk and consequence. These islands of privilege are snapping back to join the real economy.

Every government entity that reckoned it was moated from the market economy will be snapped back to "discover" risk and consequence. Let's lay out the dynamic:

1. Every government can only spend what its economy generates in surplus.

2. Every government transfers risk and consequence from itself, its employees and its favored vested interests to the citizenry and taxpayers.

3. Every government collects and distributes the surplus of its private sector to its employees, favored constituencies and vested interests.

4. Since the government (State) promises guaranteed salaries, benefits and entitlements to its employees and favored constituencies, these individuals believe they are living in a risk-free Wonderland that is completely protected from the market economy.

5. Risk cannot be repealed or eliminated, it can only be masked or transferred to others.

6. The Federal government and the Federal Reserve have pursued a policy of inflating serial speculative credit-based bubbles.

7. These bubbles inflated assets, profits and taxes, creating the illusion that blow-off speculative tops were "the new normal."

8. Speculative credit-based bubbles misallocate capital and incentivize malinvestment on a spectacular scale.

9. Once the bubble deflates, the capital is lost or trapped in illiquid malinvestments.

10. As a direct result of the dot-com bubble, Stockton's tax revenues (general fund) leaped to $139 million in 2001. As a direct consequence of the housing bubble, it jumped to $186 million in 2007.

Obama's Problem Obeying The Law

There is ample evidence that Barack Obama, and people under his supervision, committed at least one felony -- specifically, illegal gambling across state lines -- to fund his 2008 election campaign. Congress, meanwhile, found Obama's attorney general, Eric Holder, in contempt for refusal to testify about Operation Fast and Furious. Orchestration of straw purchases of firearms, one of which resulted in the death of a law enforcement officer, could easily be another felony.

The Obama Campaign's Numbers Racket

The general definition of a lottery is an activity that includes (1) mandatory payment of consideration -- i.e., money -- as a condition of participation, (2) a prize -- i.e., anything of value, such as an expenses-paid trip, and (3) an element of chance in the selection of the prize winners. It is against federal law to conduct a lottery across state lines, and it is illegal in almost every state to conduct an unauthorized or unlicensed lottery or other gambling activity. This is true even in states like Nevada that are famous for their (licensed) gambling establishments.
