Barack Obama is moving full speed ahead with his climate agenda, bypassing Congress by pushing regulatory actions and executive orders.
A crop of regulations at the Environmental Protection Agency intends to restrict pollution from new and existing power plants by implementing new emissions standards. The battle lines are drawn. Democrats and environmentalists are complain about the GOP’s stand against crippling industry, while the GOP maintains that Obama is doing an end-run around Congress.
Obama said on Friday, “Unfortunately, what we’ve seen too often in Congress is that the fossil fuel industries tend to be very influential — let's put it that way — on the energy committees in Congress and they tend not to be particularly sympathetic to alternative energy strategies.”

FREE FIREWOOD!! (Millington, MD AREA)
Hi Joe,
We have an abundance (300 loads +) of wood that is excellent for fire wood located in the Millington, MD area. We are giving the firewood away for free but are charging to cover our cost on the freight. It is only available via dump truck delivery and the truck comes with about 7 cords of wood on the load. I have posted this to Facebook and Craigslist but I know your page reaches a lot of people...Is it possible to post a ad to your page about it?
The first picture is of what it looks like once stacked and split when necessary. The second photo is a close up of the material and the third is what a "load" looks like.
It is all hardwood end trims off of timbers. Consists of random pieces of 4”x6”,6”X6”, 8”x8” and 12”x12” that range from 4” to 20” in length. Most is well seasoned but we are adding to the pile daily, so some can be green.
People who have used this say that it is great stove wood and contains very few pieces that need to be split. Wood is not treated and is safe to burn inside your home.
Thank You,

‘I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO THINK’ ABOUT WHITE HOUSE’S SILENCE ON CHRIS LANE KILLING, SAYS OKLAHOMA GOVERNOR
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin said on Sunday she thinks it would be a “nice gesture” for President Obama to speak out about the tragic murder of Australian student Chris Lane.
“What do you make of the silence of people like Al Sharpton, and, quite frankly, the silence of the president?” Chris Wallace, host of Fox News Sunday, asked Fallin.
“I don’t know what to think about that,” Fallin replied. “It would be nice if our nation were to certainly express their condolences.”

Nothing Stopped VA's Fat Bonuses, Not Even Dead Vets, Dirty Hospitals
Generous bonuses continued flowing to top officials at the Department of Veterans' Affairs health network last year, despite a string of patient deaths and reports of mismanagement, unsanitary conditions and unprofessional practices.
Documents obtained by the Washington Examiner show six top administrators of the Veterans Health Administration received performance bonuses in excess of $16,000 last year.
In all, the top VA executives and medical professionals received more than $3.3 million in bonuses that are supposed to reward exceptional work. The figure does not include rank-and-file employees or other financial incentives not tied to job performance.

JOHN MCCAIN'S REMARKS ABOUT THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE!
In light of the recent appeals court ruling in California , with respect to the Pledge of Allegiance, the following recollection from Senator John McCain is very appropriate: "The Pledge of Allegiance" - by Senator John McCain As you may know, I spent five and one half years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. In the early years of our imprisonment, the NVA kept us in solitary confinement or two or three to a cell. In 1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of isolation into large rooms with as many as 30 to 40 men to a room.
This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change and was a direct result of the efforts of millions of Americans on behalf of a few hundred POWs 10,000 miles from home.
One of the men who moved into my room was a young man named Mike Christian. Mike came from a small town near Selma , Alabama . He didn't wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years old. At 17, he enlisted in the US Navy. He later earned a commission by going to Officer Training School . Then he became a Naval Flight Officer and was shot down and captured in 1967. Mike had a keen and deep appreciation of the opportunities this country and our military provide for people who want to work and want to succeed.
As part of the change in treatment, the Vietnamese allowed some prisoners to receive packages from home. In some of these packages were handkerchiefs, scarves and other items of clothing. Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a period of a couple of months, he created an American flag and sewed it on the inside of his shirt. Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of soup, we would hang Mike's shirt on the wall of the cell and say the Pledge of Allegiance.
I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not seem the most important part of our day now, but I can assure you that in that stark cell it was indeed the most important and meaningful event.
One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they did periodically, and discovered Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside, and removed it.
That evening they returned, opened the door of the cell, and for the benefit of all of us, beat Mike Christian severely for the next couple of hours. Then, they opened the door of the cell and threw him in. We cleaned him up as well as we could.
The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in the middle on which we slept. Four naked light bulbs hung in each corner of the room.
As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we could. After the excitement died down, I looked in the corner of the room, and sitting there beneath that dim light bulb with a piece of red cloth, another shirt and his bamboo needle, was my friend, Mike Christian. He was sitting there with his eyes almost shut from the beating he had received, making another American flag. He was not making the flag because it made Mike Christian feel better. He was making that flag because he knew how important it was to us to be able to Pledge our allegiance to our flag and country.
So the next time you say the Pledge of Allegiance, you must never forget the sacrifice and courage that thousands of Americans have made to build our nation and promote freedom around the world. You must remember our duty, our honor, and our country.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

State Tech Agency Lacked Controls Over $158M Federally Funded Broadband Project, Audit Finds
The Department of Information Technology did not maintain adequate internal controls in managing a $158 million project to upgrade and expand Maryland’s high-speed fiber optics infrastructure that was funded predominantly by federal stimulus dollars, state auditors found.
The auditor found problems with contracting practices, construction oversight, monitoring of sub-grants and cash control. The Legislative Audit report on DoIT also revealed deficiencies in three other areas: major IT development projects; cloud services; and disaster recovery controls.

Ft. Hood Hero: 'Slap In the Face' To Not Call Shootings Terrorism
Ret. Army Sgt. Howard Ray, awarded for saving the lives of 9 people in the Ft. Hood massacre, said it's a "slap in the face" that the 2009 incident is not called terrorism.
"It really is a slap in the face that the Department of Defense called this something other than what it truly is — that is, terrorism," Ray said Monday on "Fox & Friends."
Ray, who is running for the Texas state House, called on the White House to label the shooting rampage an act of terrorism so that the victims can receive appropriate compensation.
"What's important is that government officials, starting at the White House, demand that this be, first of all, classified as it is, terrorism," Ray said.

Video shows rebels launching gas attack in Syria
NEW YORK – As the U.S. considers a response to what it calls a chemical weapon attack by Syria’s Bashar al-Assad regime that killed hundreds of civilians, reliable Middle Eastern sources say they have evidence the culprits actually were the rebel forces trying to take over the government.
Secretary of State John Kerry accused the Assad government Monday of covering up the use of chemical weapons in “a cowardly crime” and a “moral obscenity” that shocked the world’s conscience. Kerry claimed the Obama administration had “undeniable” evidence “that the Assad government was culpable in the use of chemical weapons on civilians” in the Aug. 21 attack in Damascus suburbs.

Ron Paul Warns "Middle Of The Road In Healthcare Leads To Socialism"
The ever-expanding role of government in healthcare provides an excellent example of Ludwig Von Mises’ warning that “The Middle of the Road Leads to Socialism.” Beginning in the 1940s, government policies distorted the health care market, causing prices to rise and denying many Americans access to quality care. Congress reacted to the problems caused by their prior interventions with new interventions, such as the HMO Act, ERISA, EMTLA, and various federal entitlement programs. Each new federal intervention not only failed to fix the problems it was supposedly created to solve, it created new problems, leading to calls for even more new federal interventions. This process culminated in 2010, when Congress passed Obamacare.
Contrary to the claims of some of its opponents, Obamacare is not socialized medicine. It is corporatized medicine. After all, the central feature of Obamacare is the mandate that all Americans buy health insurance from private health insurance companies. And, as with previous government interventions in the marketplace, Obamacare is not only failing to correct the problems caused by prior federal laws, it is creating new problems.
Consider the almost weekly stories about how Obamacare is causing health insurance premiums to rise, causing employees to lay off workers or reduce their workers' hours, and causing doctors to leave the profession. Also, consider the problems the administration is already having administering the federal exchanges and other parts of the health care law.

8-Year Old Murders His 90-Year Old Grandmother After Playing Grand Theft Auto IV
In Louisiana, on August 22, an 8-year-old boy allegedly shot and killed his 90-year-old grandmother after playing “Grand Theft Auto IV.” The game is rated M, which means it is for ages 17 and older.
No motive was given, but the boy killed the woman right after playing the game. The boy took the family gun and shot Marie Smothers in the head while she was watching television. The child said it was accidental, but evidence led police to think the shooting was intentional. Smothers was the boy’s caregiver. He was released to his parents on Thursday night.

Md. Family Sues Over Frostburg St. Football Death
The parents of a Frostburg State University football player who died after a second concussion accused coaches at the Maryland school of conducting “gladiatorial” high-speed drills that caused players to suffer repeated blows to the head.
A wrongful-death lawsuit charges that 22-year-old Derek Sheely, of Germantown, returned to the field despite bleeding from his forehead during four consecutive practice sessions in August 2011. He was never checked for a concussion or to see if his helmet was properly fitted, the lawsuit said.
“One of Derek’s teammates described the demeanor of the practices leading up to Derek’s fatal injury as completely ‘out of control,’” the lawsuit said. “What is more, the word ‘concussion’ is not stated a single time in Frostburg’s team policies. Thus, the coaches treated all injuries — brain injuries and ankle sprains — the same: You were expected to play through them.”

Seaford, DE- The Delaware State Police in cooperation with the United States Secret Service and United States Postal Inspection Service has arrested three people in connection with a "Nigerian Scam."
The investigation began back on February 7, 2013 after detectives with the Financial Crimes Unit out of Troop 4 in Georgetown received information from Marion Police Department in Iowa about some stolen property that had been shipped to an address in Delaware. Detectives then obtained a search warrant of the house located in the 8000 block of Garden Lane and upon execution were unable to locate the property in question. The homeowner was questions about any packages that arrived at the house and informed the investigators that Vinod Singh had met with a FedEx delivery person and signed for the packages earlier that day.
Detectives then responded to a residence on Baker Mill Road in Seaford where Singh actually resides. He was contacted and questioned about the packages and provided information about receiving a phone call about a job opportunity after posting a resume online. His job was to pick up two packages, which contained IPods, IPhones, jewelry, and approximately $15,000.00 in cash, that was to be delivered to an address on Garden Lane and then continue to send them on to another undetermined address, and, at that time, he would receive cash for his services. Singh then conspired with his niece Terretta Lassiter and her boyfriend, Thaddeus Bolden, after bringing the packages to their house, to wire the enclosed money to the employer in Nigeria.
Through the investigation it was also determined that the U.S. Postal Inspection Service had been alerted back in February of 2013 regarding an identity theft and credit card account takeover after Bank of America credit cards were being fraudulently issued to an address in the 8000 block of Garden Lane in Seaford. The suspects would impersonate the card holder, and using stolen information of the account holder request a new card be sent to the Seaford address. Upon receipt of the new card, the suspect, who was later identified as Vinod Singh, would make numerous cash advances at local banks and casinos totaling more than $50,000.00.
Vinod Singh, Terretta L. Lassiter, and Thaddeus E. Bolden were all arrested at Troop 4 on Monday August 26, 2013 upon the conclusion of the joint investigation and released on unsecured bonds.
The homeowner at the Garden Lane address was unaware of any of the illegal acts being conducted and had no involvement in the crimes in any way.

NSA Paid Millions To Google, Yahoo, Microsoft For Surveillance
Top-secret documents obtained by The Guardianreveal the National Security Agency (NSA) paid millions of dollars to Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft to cover costs associated with the agency's PRISM surveillance program.
The revelation is the the first evidence of a financial relationship between the government and Silicon Valley, the newspaper claims.
The government is required to cover compliance costs. Critics say Silicon Valley and the federal government's increasing coziness creates opportunities for collusion and costly cronyism at the expense of taxpayers.

OC Parking Meter Petition Successful: Counsil Votes To Repeal Paid Parking Ordinance
As a result of the paid parking petition officially garnering enough signatures to be placed on the ballot as a referendum, the Ocean City Council voted this afternoon to repeal the recent ordinance that created new parking areas in certain parts of town, such as on 146th Street oceanside. The ordinance will officially be repealed next week at a legislative session, but city officials reported at the meeting that the Cale machines installed earlier this summer at the new areas will be bagged immediately. According to Staff Writer Joanne Shriner, who is covering the meeting, 1,226 signatures were needed for the petition to be successful and 1,648 signatures were ruled valid with 123 being deemed invalid. It's believed today's vote of the council to abandon the current areas was made instead of a referendum being held at a later date to garner resident opinions on the matter. Full story to come later.

MILLER: Bloomberg Loses Stop And Frisk, And NRA Gets Blamed
New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has spent tens of millions of his billions trying to get his gun bans instituted in the rest of America, even though these laws have never stopped criminals from getting guns. That’s why he has had to resort to policing tactics such as stop and frisk to get the firearms away from the bad guys. Unfortunately, his one area of success is no longer allowed, and he’s looking for someone to blame.
On Thursday, the City Council overrode the mayor’s veto of two bills that will create a New York Police Department inspector general to oversee tactics such as stop and frisk and allow more categories of people to sue the city for racial profiling. Mr. Bloomberg said the vote will lead to minorities being put at higher risk, since they have benefited most from crime reduction.

Raleigh Cops Stop Charities From Feeding Homeles
Raleigh police have stopped charities from feeding the homeless at a public square.
A police officer told Love Wins Ministries not to hand out breakfast biscuits Saturday morning. The group has been doing that for six years.
"The city has no provision for these people being fed on Saturdays or Sundays," said Hugh Hollowell, founder of the ministry.
Distributing food in parks without a permit violates a city ordinance.
Mayor Nancy McFarlane said Sunday a city council committee will address the situation this week. McFarlane says neither she nor the council were involved in the decision to stop the meals.

ObamaCare's Architects Reap Windfall As Washington Lobbyists
ObamaCare has become big business for an elite network of Washington lobbyists and consultants who helped shape the law from the inside.
More than 30 former administration officials, lawmakers and congressional staffers who worked on the healthcare law have set up shop on K Street since 2010.
Major lobbying firms such as Fierce, Isakowitz & Blalock, The Glover Park Group, Alston & Bird, BGR Group and Akin Gump can all boast an Affordable Care Act insider on their lobbying roster — putting them in a prime position to land coveted clients.
“When [Vice President] Biden leaned over [during the signing of the healthcare law] and said to [President] Obama, ‘This is a big f'n deal,’ ” said Ivan Adler, a headhunter at the McCormick Group, “he was right.”
Veterans of the healthcare push are now lobbying for corporate giants such as Delta Air Lines, UPS, BP America and Coca-Cola, and for healthcare companies including GlaxoSmithKline, UnitedHealth Group and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
Ultimately, the clients are after one thing: expert help in dealing with the most sweeping overhaul of the country’s healthcare system in decades.

THE VALUE OF SYRIA IN THE “NEW GREAT GAME”
What’s left out when the US talks about Syria is that it is in a key position for exporting natural gas. Adding weapons to the region makes it explosive.
We know that the Syrian people have suffered terribly from the violence that has erupted. Undeniably many factors are involved. But are we in the West to believe that the people need to be rescued by us so that they, too, can come to enjoy the democratic rights that U.S. citizens appear to have less and less of every day? Or is something else going on there?

Powerful Op-Ed: “As A Democrat, I Am Disgusted With President Obama”
What are you thinking, Mr President?
Is this really the legacy you want for yourself: the chief executive who trampled rights, destroyed privacy, heightened secrecy, ruined trust, and worst of all, did not defend but instead detoured around so many of the fundamental principles on which this country is founded?
And I voted for you. I’ll confess you were a second choice. I supported Hillary Clinton first. I said at the time that your rhetoric about change was empty and that I feared you would be another Jimmy Carter: aggressively ineffectual.
Never did I imagine that you would instead become another Richard Nixon: imperial, secretive, vindictive, untrustworthy, inexplicable.

State Withdraws Emergency Status Of Fertilizer Rules
Maryland's Agriculture Department says it has withdrawn its request to seek emergency status on proposed regulations on fertilizer use aimed at reducing Chesapeake Bay pollution.
The department announced it was pulling back the request on Monday. That's two days before a legislative panel was scheduled to take up the proposal.
According to officials, the department sought emergency status in order to get the regulations in place in time for the fall planting season. The regulations are designed to use new research to reduce the amount of phosphorous that gets into waterways.

"Farmers' Almanac" Predicts A "Bitterly Cold" Winter
LEWISTON, MAINE The Farmers' Almanac is using words like "piercing cold," "bitterly cold" and "biting cold" to describe the upcoming winter. And if its predictions are right, the first outdoor Super Bowl in years will be a messy "Storm Bowl."
The 197-year-old publication that hits newsstands Monday predicts a winter storm will hit the Northeast around the time the Super Bowl is played at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands in New Jersey. It also predicts a colder-than-normal winter for two-thirds of the country and heavy snowfall in the Midwest, Great Lakes and New England.
"We're using a very strong four-letter word to describe this winter, which is C-O-L-D. It's going to be very cold," said Sandi Duncan, managing editor.

Scarborough: Racist Claims About Voter ID Laws 'Outrageous'
Former Florida Rep. Joe Scarborough said Monday it was "outrageous" to suggest that voter photo identification laws are racist, claiming the issue has been covered in a "one-sided way" by the media
"If you believe that somebody should have a photo ID to prove they are who they are, that somehow this governor of North Carolina is racist, or everybody in the state of Texas is racist —it's outrageous," Scarborough said, referring to efforts in those two states to imposed tougher voter ID laws. "This has been covered in such a one-sided way."
"You read the New York Times, and you read these other media outlets that, again, make politicians in North Carolina and Texas sound racist for just saying, 'Hey, you're going to need a picture ID to prove you are who you are,'" the conservative Republican said on his MSNBC "Morning Joe" program.

Sentenced To Death For A Sip Of Water
As her religion faces persecution across the Middle East, a Christian woman explains why she faces hanging in Pakistan for the crime of ‘blasphemy’
More and more people join the crowd as they push me towards the home of the village headman. I recognize the house — it’s the only one that has a garden with grass growing in it. They throw me to the ground. The village imam speaks to me: “I’ve been told you’ve insulted our Prophet. You know what happens to anyone who attacks the holy Prophet Mohammed. You can redeem yourself only by conversion or death.”
“I haven’t done anything! Please! I beg you! I’ve done nothing wrong!”

EVIDENCE: SYRIA GAS ATTACK WORK OF U.S. ALLIES
Contrary evidence arises as U.S. considers punishing Assad regime
Reports that the Obama administration is considering a military strike against the Assad government continued to circulate Monday. Meanwhile, U.N. weapon inspectors in Syria were fired upon by snipers as they attempted to investigate the site of the Aug. 21 attack.
Assad has rejected charges that his government forces used chemical weapons as “preposterous” and “completely politicized,” the Los Angeles Times reported.

Iran Warns Obama And Cameron That They Would Intervene Military In Retaliation If US/UK Attack Syria
Iran has warned that foreign military intervention in Syria will result in a conflict that would engulf the region.
The threatening rhetoric from Tehran came in response to a statement by the secretary of state, John Kerry, on Monday that the US would respond to the "undeniable" use of chemical weapons in Syria.
In the strongest signal yet that the US intends to take military action against the Assad regime, Kerry said President Bashar al-Assad's forces had committed a "moral obscenity" against his own people.
"Make no mistake," Kerry said. "President Obama believes there must be accountability for those who would use the world's most heinous weapon against the world's most vulnerable people. Nothing today is more serious, and nothing is receiving more serious scrutiny".
Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Abbas Araqchi, indicated it was equally resolved to defend Assad.

Media Ignore Americans Killed By Illegal Alien 'DREAMers'
An illegal alien brutally murdered Laura Wilkerson's 18-year-old son in Texas, tied his body up, and then doused him with gasoline before burning him.
Wilkerson recalled the harrowing details on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125, yet her story has gone unheard in the broader press.
Maria Espinoza, the director of the Remembrance project that memorializes Americans who were killed by illegal immigrants, told host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon that such crimes "happen every day" in America, even in states far from the border. But the mainstream media, Espinoza said, often do not report on illegal immigrants who have murdered Americans in states like Virginia, Tennessee, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, and Washington.
Espinoza said incidents remain local ones and are "shared" and actually suppressed.
"We don't even hear the person was here illegally in the country," she said.

Phosphorus Management Tool
Statement of Senator Jim Mathias on the Delay of Proposed Regulations
Worcester, MD - Senator Jim Mathias today released the following statement on the announcement by Secretary Hance on the withdrawal of emergency regulations concerning a new phosphorus management tool. Before being withdrawn, the emergency regulations were to be heard before the Joint Committee on Administrative, Executive & Legislative Review on Wednesday, August 28.
“Our farms are the lifeblood of the economy of the Eastern Shore and Maryland workforce. The emergency regulations that were to be heard before the AELR committee were a step too far endangering farms, families and jobs while increasing the risk of our poultry industry leaving the great state of Maryland. Since the announcement of these emergency regulations, I have worked with our farmers, chicken growers, Secretary Hance, the Farm Bureau, Delmarva Poultry Institute and others to find common ground in this matter illustrating the continued agricultural stewardship protecting our environment as well as the families and business community that constitute the legacy farming industry on the Eastern Shore and throughout the State of Maryland. I would like to thank all the stakeholders for coming together to defend our agricultural industry, protect our family farms and demonstrate that farming has the support of our Maryland Policymakers and advocates.”

Teens May Have Murdered WWII Vet Because He Tried To Defend Himself
Delbert Belton, the 88-year-old World War II veteran who was savagely beaten to death last Wednesday by two teenagers, may have been murdered because he tried to defend himself and fight back while he was being robbed.
Spokane police have indicated that Belton enraged the teens when he tried to fend them off, which prompted them to beat him with "big, heavy flashlights" to the point where Belton was bleeding from every part of his head.
"Our information is that the individual fought back and that may have made this, you know, a worse situation," Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub said on Monday.

Maryland Emergency Manure Regulation Withdrawn
Thanks to a lot of hard work by a lot of people in the agricultural community throughout Maryland, the Maryland Department of Agriculture has withdrawn its proposed emergency regulation related to phosphorus applications on farmland.
The August 28 hearing in Annapolis for the General Assembly’s Administrative, Executive, and Legislative Joint Review Committee has been cancelled.
The Maryland Department of Agriculture will start working with the agricultural community to implement the Phosphorus Management Tool in a phased-in manner, something we were advocating. We appreciate the O’Malley government and Secretary of Agriculture Buddy Hance for recognizing our concerns and their willingness to work with us in a cooperative manner. This will allow the Maryland Department of Agriculture to develop a reasonable schedule to phase-in the new phosphorus tool.
We thank each person who worked with DPI and the other agricultural organizations prepare for the August 28 hearing and for the dozens of chicken growers and farmers who planned to attend the hearing on August 28 to have their voices heard. This truly was a team effort.
We thank Senator Rich Colburn for his original request to have the legislative committee hold the August 28 hearing and to Senator Jim Mathias for his hard work communicating our concerns to other legislators and to Governor O’Malley and his team. We also appreciate the other legislators who weighed in on this issue with their colleagues and with the governor and who expressed their concerns on our behalf.

Haddaway And Colburn Call For Delay In Anti-Agriculture Regulations
Jeannie Haddaway, a candidate for Lt. Governor running with David Craig, is calling for the O’Malley-Brown Administration to delay adoptions of regulations that would prevent farmers from using locally produced organic fertilizer and re-consider defining them as "emergency" status which short circuits the normal review process.
In a letter to the Governor and the Secretary of Agriculture, Haddaway explained that the regulations as currently drafted not only prevent poultry and dairy farmers from using organic fertilizer, they will cause complications with responsible storage and transportation of poultry manure leaving farmers no choice but to use chemical fertilizers instead.
“This will not only deprive farm families of income but also poses significant health and environmental risks to Marylanders and to the animals themselves," said Haddaway. "With that in mind, the Administration should reconsider these regulations or at least revoke the emergency status so that the industry and stakeholders have adequate time to develop a workable solution.”
Senator Richard Colburn (District 37) who is a member of the Administrative, Executive and Legislative Review Committee agreed with Haddaway's position and has called for a public hearing on the issue which is before his committee. In response, a hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in Annapolis.
David Craig called for a common sense approach that values the input of all stakeholders.
"Regulations often have unintended consequences, which is why they need to be thought out beforehand," said Craig. "The poultry industry is one of the most heavily -regulated industry sectors in Maryland, at the local, state and federal level. The state needs to exercise due diligence."

Remaining Daylight On Your Fingers
Is it time to stop and scrounge for shelter or is it better to keep trekking? Use this simple trick to measure the remaining daylight. Remember to allow yourself at least two hours to set up camp before the sun goes down.
Count the finger widths between the sun and the horizon. Each finger is equivalent to fifteen minutes, with each hand totaling an hour.
