It's Official! The City's Audit Will Be Extended AGAIN!

"An extension has been requested. The deadline with the
State is November 1. We knew at the beginning of the process that we
wouldn't be able to meet that deadline. We applied for a two month
extension to January 1 although we expect to be done well before January
1."

YES, the City has the Staff this go around, yet their incompetence continues to shine under the leadership of Barrie Tilghman and her Administration! Mr. Pick even admits they knew they wouldn't be able to meet the deadline! Sounds like someone lied to someone?

This also PROVES that Louise Smith has proven she is absolutely NO HELP whatsoever towards accountability.

Movie Release-Golden Compass

An upcoming children's movie (The Golden Compass) that will be released on Dec. 7 during the Christmas season is totally against Christianity. The author of this trilogy is an atheist and is trying to influence children against God. At the end of his trilogy the children kill God and are free to live as they please.

It stars Nicole Kidman, so this will get a lot of publicity. Spread the word to your Christian friends with children and grandchildren. The link below gives more details.

A FREE Meeting At Wor-Wic TONIGHT!

A nationally recognized authority on urban growth, Mr. Eben Fodor, will be speaking at Wor-Wic tonight from 7-9 in the Guerrieri Center Auditorium. Free Admission. Knowing how important urban growth is around here, it will be interesting to see who attends.

Electrical Inspectors Meeting

I think the City tried to pull a fast one on "everyone."

John Pick and Barrie Tilghman never invited the City Council to this meeting, which speaks volumes. Think about it Folks. Whenever they want something rubber stamped, they keep the Council out of the loop and bring everything to them at the last minute to vote on it. They are not educated, so they have no clue what the other side thinks, (in many cases) and pass something this Mayor WANTS!

Fortunately these Electricians took their letters seriously and showed up to pass judgment. The City was absolutely slammed and this time the City failed.

Salisbury News is onto their games any more and trust me, we too slammed John Pick with good questions they could not answer and they looked like fools.

That being said, Barrie Tilghman is trying to make things even worse now because she has instructed ALL department heads NOT to speak to ANY Council Member. This will further part YOU, (the taxpayers) from having an educated Council and they will rubber stamp even more. This also secured Salisbury News from knowing these events even take place. We get NO Press Releases or invitations from the City and or the SPD.

As a matter of FACT, during that meeting one of the Electricians said, where's the cameras? Where's the Press. John Pick said, there's a Reporter from the Daily Times sitting in the front row. He refused to recognize me at all. That's cool, I had the most impact on their final decision and I know that, as well as other Officials that were there from the County.

Burglary In Pittsville

Some time between 9:30 PM last night and & 1:00 PM this afternoon, someone kicked in two doors and busted out a 2nd floor window of a residence in Pittsville, next door to the Pittsville Police Sub Station.

An Important Message To Our Teens & Young Drivers

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I can't express enough just how important the proper use of the equipment provided in vehicles today is.

Last night a Family and the Community lost a 17 year old young man, even though he was wearing his seat belt. I can tell you first hand, my Wife and I have had children who thought it was COOL to put their seat back in a reclined position and drive that way.

I must impress upon you just how dangerous this is. This is exactly the reason why this young man not only was ejected from this vehicle, it's why he died.

I can't tell you what the law says about driving this way but last night is forever proof that it is NO LONGER COOL!

Please impress upon your children that their seat must be in an upright position.

Council Woman Campbell's Home ROCKS On Halloween!

They come by the van load just to stop at this home where the entire Family gets involved. The chainsaw with no chain in it is always rumbling and the scary music is heard all the way to the 49 foot mark, LOL. There's smoke everywhere and the little Trick or Treater's just love it! The line can go all the way to the street at times. Camden Ave is by far the best place to bring the kids for Halloween as they are always greeted with excited faces and plenty of great candy.

Now if only the other 80% of the property owners in the area would turn their lights on and participate in the festivities, that would be cool too.

County Executive Rick Pollitt Expands County Recycling Commitment

Although Barrie Tilghman and the past & present City Council majority continue to ignore recycling in the City of Salisbury, that's not holding back the County's commitment, (along with WalMart) to protect our environment.

Mr. Tradder has been visiting almost every single City Council Meeting for 4 years that I know of and each and every time he comes there he asks what the City is going to do to expand their recycling commitments in the City.

Today Rick Pollit cut the ribbon for a new recycling pick up center near WalMart between Wendy's & Verizon. Don't you worry Mr. Tradder, RICK POLLITT is listening!

Big Scare At Wi Hi Today!

A student being transferred from Delmar to Wi Hi was sent home today and his locker was inspected because allegedly there was rumor going around the School the he was going to pull another Virginia Tech.

I'm told Students may have blown things out of proportion but then again, the Student was allegedly sent home?

For those of you who might choose to attack this Post, this information was being sent from a Student live at Wi Hi. I happen to think it's news worthy so all parents can get involved and get to the bottom of it for the sake of their own children.

SALISBURY CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AGENDA REVISED

PRESS RELEASE

City Administrator John Pick announced today that the City has removed from the City Council’s November 5th work session agenda the discussion concerning the City assuming responsibility for the electrical inspection program within the City limits. At a meeting last night with local electrical contractors, a number of questions were asked about the City’s proposal, and it became apparent that the City needed to conduct additional research into this idea before proceeding further. "We appreciate the attendance at last night’s meeting by the electrical contractors and the questions they asked about our proposal," said Pick. "This is a subject about which they know more than anyone, and they raised a number of points that we will need to look into further before we would feel comfortable discussing this proposal with the City Council. We will schedule another meeting with the contractors when we have had an opportunity to get answers to their questions."

Currently, Wicomico County is responsible for issuing all electrical permits for work within the County, including within the City limits. Electrical inspections are conducted by private inspection agencies that are approved by the County. The private inspection agencies are paid for their services by charging inspection fees.

The Albero's Dominate The Daily Times Front Page

Frank Albero, Father of Joe Albero, was featured on the Front Page of the Daily Times this morning sporting a wooden statue. I've been out scooped!
What the article doesn't say is that my father decided to cut the 70' tall tree down on his own! Folks wonder where I get my tenacity from and it's obviously in the genes. I know there are quite a few senior citizens out there that are still doing things that most 20 somethings would never tackle. My hat goes off to those amazing folks.
A big congratulations has to go to the two gentlemen, Tommy Winn and Wade Puryear, that carved the tree at my Dad's request. They were reluctant at first, but my father knew they could do it. It's great to see local folks supporting the arts and great to see local patriotism. Whoever coined the phrase, "The military is fighting the war in Iraq and the rest of America is at the Mall," may not have it correct. Here's a constant reminder of those patriotic souls who have and still are sacrificing their own lives for the sake of all of our freedom. Keep up the good work and don't forget to drive by and see an amazing salute to our armed forces.

Airline Story

This past week I was on a four and a half hour, non-stop flight from Seattle, Washington to Atlanta, Georgia

In all my years of traveling, I have learned that each time a plane has the opportunity to stop, there is potential for unexpected challenges. Flight delays, weather and airline crews can create unanticipated challenges on any trip. Therefore, I always try to fly non-stop between my destinations.

About an hour into this particular flight, the Captain's voice rang over the intercom. He asked if there was a physician or nurse on the plane. If so, he asked them to identify themselves by ringing
the flight attendant call button beside their seat.

I listened carefully but heard no one ring their bell. I immediately began to wonder what was happening.

In a few minutes the Captain informed us that there was a medical emergency on board and asked again if there was a physician or a nurse who could help.

When there was no response, we were told that we were going to make an emergency stop in Denver , Colorado . He apologized but told us that there would be a medical emergency team waiting to meet us at the gate and
that we would probably only be delayed by about thirty minutes. Though it was necessary, we knew we would all be inconvenienced by the extra stop.

About half an hour later, we landed at Denver International Airport and the medical crew immediately came on board. However, everything took longer than had previously been expected. An elderly gentleman, about 85 years old, had suddenly taken ill. It was not clear whether he had experienced a stroke or heart attack.

Even after the gentleman was carried off of the plane, we still sat there for quite a while. The original "short" stop turned into about an hour and a half.

When we finally pushed back from the gate and were in the air, the pilot apologized profusely for the unavoidable delay. He said that since the stop had taken longer than expected, those passengers who needed to make connections in Atlanta would miss their flights but would automatically be booked on the next flight out.

You could almost hear the moans and groans throughout the airplane of everyone who was being inconvenienced by the unexpected stop.

Then the pilot did one of the classiest things I have personally
ever seen or heard anyone do.

He spoke into the intercom and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, I thought you might be interested in one bit of information. The elderly gentleman who was taken off the plane was a Marine in WWII.

I am holding in my hand a copy of the Congressional Medal of Honor that was awarded to him and signed by President Harry Truman in 1945." The pilot went on to say, "I realize that we have all been inconvenienced today. However, in light of the fact that this gentleman was a war hero and was inconvenienced for four years of his life in order that we might experience the freedoms that we enjoy today, I thought you all should know that."

Immediately the airplane was filled with applause. Everyone was cheering and so pleased to know that the gentleman had been cared for in a way that was fitting and appropriate. As we continued to fly, I thought to myself, "Isn't that interesting? We were concerned that we were inconvenienced for a couple of hours and yet, this gentleman's entire life was interrupted and inconvenienced for over four years while he went and fought in a war to protect the freedoms and values that we love and hold dear in this country today."

I breathed a prayer for the gentleman and asked God to bless him for all he had done to help us understand what freedom is all about.

Minorities

We need to show more sympathy for these people.
* They travel miles in the heat.
* They risk their lives crossing a border.
* They don't get paid enough wages.
* They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do.
* They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language.
* They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day every day.

I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans; I'm talking about our troops!


Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops and are now threatening to defund them?

RECORD DAY!

Although it's going to be a long day today, I just have to say we had the biggest day ever yesterday!

Oh, the Frank Albero on the front page of The Daily Times is in fact my Father. Pretty cool, eh? The SOB one upped me in the News and the Times out scooped me! LOL

2nd Amendment

Last year, the United Nations Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights declared that international human rights law requires all nations to adopt strict gun control laws. These "minimum" provisions are much more restrictive than any of those on the books anywhere in the U.S. and would almost certainly violate the Second Amendment of our Constitution.
Besides concluding that all nations are obligated under international human rights law to control the small arms and light weapons to which its civilian population has access, the UN report remarkably denied the existence of any human right to self-defense, evidently overlooking the work of Hugo Grotius, the 17th century scholar credited as the founder of international law, who wrote, "It is to be observed that [the] Right of Self-Defence, arises directly and immediately from the Care of our own Preservation, which Nature recommends to every one. . . ," and that this right is so primary, that it cannot be denied on the basis that it is not "expressly set forth."

There is another disturbing aspect to this call for international global gun control. Throughout modern history, the forced disarmament of people by its government has often been accompanied or followed by that government's commission of often massive human rights abuses. In fact, no genocide in the 20th century occurred when the victim population still possessed small arms, legally or illegally, with which to defend themselves.

So now the UN wants to disarm civilians? Where was the UN when the massacres in Rwanda occurred? What did the UN do to protect the victims of ethnic massacres in Bosnia? Disarming civilians under the guise of international human rights law will only lead to more such genocides by ensuring that civilians can never defend themselves! It would be funny if it weren't so perverse.

Thankfully, the Framers of our Constitution recognized this potential peril to our liberty, and enshrined in our Second Amendment the more basic right of self-defense. The U.N. can say what it likes about other countries' citizens' possession of small arms being a violation of human rights law, but so long as the United States is a sovereign nation governed by its Constitution, its words will have no effect here. And I am glad for it.

High Speed Chase Ends In Juvenile Death

The Maryland State Police were called last night referencing a vehicle in Willards driving recklessly on Canal Street. When the County Police arrived, they searched the area and found the vehicle. When the Deputy turned on his lights and started chasing the vehicle the young man turned off his lights and eluded the Officer.

The Wicomico County Sheriffs Department ultimately found the vehicle near Pittsville Motors and he took off once again. He headed South on Friendship Road then West on Rt. 50. He turned South on Sixty Foot Road where he reached speeds in excess off 110 MPH and the Sheriffs Deputy called in and said he was backing down from the chase, he's driving too fast and pulling away.

The suspect crossed Mt. Herman Road and onto Laws Road where he ultimately failed to negotiate a curve, hit a ditch, went through a group of trees and ultimately flipped end over end where the "seatbelted" suspect was ejected from the vehicle and died.

His Mother, Debbie Lewis, (no relation to Sheriff Lewis) was immediately notified as well as his biological Father who was located in Georgetown. Debbie Lewis works for the Dash In in Willards.

Their Son was 17 years old.
