MITT ROMNEY TAKES FLAK FROM TRUMP SUPPORTERS FOR MUELLER STATEMENT
Republican Utah Sen. Mitt Romney took flak Friday from many prominent supporters of President Donald Trump after he posted his take on the Mueller report to Twitter.
“I am sickened at the extent and pervasiveness of dishonesty and misdirection by individuals in the highest office of the land, including the President,” he wrote, after characterizing as “good news” the fact that there was “insufficient evidence” to charge Trump with a crime.
“I am also appalled that, among other things, fellow citizens working in a campaign for president welcomed help from Russia — including information that had been illegally obtained; that none of them acted to inform American law enforcement; and that the campaign chairman was actively promoting Russian interests in Ukraine,” he continued.

General Mandates 'Daily Routine' After Seeing Sloppy, Unshaven Marines
After becoming exasperated with evidence of low discipline and sloppy appearances, a two-star general overseeing most East Coast-based ground combat Marines has fired off a policy letter mandating when troops must wake up, clean and eat each day.
The April 16 policy letter, signed by Maj. Gen. David Furness, commanding general of 2nd Marine Division out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, expresses concern that the Marines within the division have let their standards slide.
"In my travels with the Sergeant Major and Command Master Chief throughout the Division spaces, I have noticed a significant decline in the basic discipline of our warriors," Furness wrote. "Because the 2nd Marine Division has the majority of personnel assigned to Camp Lejeune, we will take ownership of this problem and FIX IT immediately."

Democrats DECLINE to View Less Redacted Mueller Report
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and other top Democrats declined Friday to view a less redacted Mueller report.
Top Democrats responded to a proposal from Attorney General (AG) William Barr to view a less redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report that confirmed President Donald Trump did not collude with the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election.
In the wake of the Mueller report’s release, Pelosi and Schumer said that Mueller needs to testify before Congress. House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nalder (D-NY) said that Mueller should testify before his committee because they “clearly cannot believe” what Barr tells us about the Mueller report.
Rather than accept Barr’s proposal to view the Mueller report, they insisted that they have access to redacted material and “access to grand jury material.”

Maxine Waters: Failure to Impeach Trump Will ‘Imperil Nation’
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) on Thursday evening said failing to impeach President Donald Trump after the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report would set a dangerous precedent” and even “imperil the nation.”
Waters, one of the most prominent and dogged impeachment advocates in Congress who has vowed since Trump took office to do everything in her power to oust him, said in a statement that Mueller’s report “describes Trump’s repeated efforts to fire Mueller, remove former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and even tamper with witnesses by dangling pardons.”
“I am very troubled by what has already been revealed by the report,” Waters said, saying Mueller’s report “outlines ten instances during which Trump may have obstructed justice but left it to Congress to follow up on those investigations and legal conclusions.” “At this point, Congress’ failure to impeach is complacency in the face of the erosion of our democracy and constitutional norms. Congress’ failure to impeach would set a dangerous precedent and imperil the nation as it would vest too much power in the Executive Branch and embolden future officeholders to further debase the U.S. presidency, if that’s even possible.”

History Matters–The Battles of Lexington and Concord
This week marks the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Two hundred and forty-four years ago, farmers, tradesmen, laborers, and mariners–Americans of all stripes–came to together to defend themselves against the most professional army in the world.
April 19, 1775 marked the beginning of an epic journey for a band of brothers who risked EVERYTHING for a nation yet to be born. Over the course of nearly eight years, many of these Americans marched thousands of miles, often shoeless, unpaid, and starving, to fight for freedom and liberties most Americans today take for granted. Their resolute stand matters in light of multiple current events and threats to that American liberty.
In November 1774, King George III told Lord North, the Prime Minister of Great Britain that “blows must decide whether they [colonists but hereafter referred to as the Americans] are to be subject to this country, or independent.” The Crown moved toward using force. For years, friction had been building in the provinces. Throughout the fall of 1774, General Gage’s forces conducted a number of so-called powder alarms aimed at seizing gunpowder and munitions. Black powder in the colonies was precious and had to be imported since virtually no organic production existed in North America. The Crown put in place a ban on the importation of powder and firearms.
Mercilessly, they leveled a number of hard economic measures, closed the port of Boston throwing thousands out of work, and passed several acts aimed to destroy the colonies’ economic will.

Delaware State University official pleads guilty to taking $70G in bribes from out-of-state students
A former Delaware State University official on Wednesday admitted to accepting more than $70,000 in bribes to falsely classify students as eligible to pay in-state tuition over a four-year period.
Crystal Martin, who worked for the registrar’s office at the Dover-based historically black institution, pleaded guilty to a felony bribery charge, authorities said. The scheme cost the school more than $3 million in lost tuition.
“The defendant abused her position at a public university to personally profit and to defraud her employer,’’ U.S. Attorney David Weiss said in a statement. “Individuals who accept bribes while serving in a public capacity risk undermining trust in those institutions.’’

Senator states that nurses “probably play cards for a considerable amount of the day” in amending rest breaks bill
In perhaps one of the most demeaning statements on the nursing profession since Joy Behar’s 2015 “doctor’s stethoscope” comments on The View, Washington State Senator Maureen Walsh proclaimed on the Senate floor that Critical Access Hospital nurses should be exempt from protections in mandatory overtime because they sit around and play cards most of the day:
Ignoring for a moment the incredibly disrespectful and patronizing nature of Sen. Walsh’s remarks, it’s evident that she misunderstands the purpose and function of the bill. Mandatory overtime isn’t just an abhorrent employer practice: it’s also a terrible patient care practice.

Bunny bans seek to stop Easter holiday purchases of rabbits that end up in shelters
Purchasing a live bunny for Easter may sound like an adorable idea. It's not. Rabbits, it seems, are not easy-to-care-for balls of fur -- and many get discarded at shelters in the weeks following the holiday.
Bunnies are the third most abandoned pet in the U.S., as well as being the third most euthanized, according to the House Rabbit Society, which cited a 2010 study of animal shelters.
The problem of pets getting abandoned or left at shelters exists year-round, but it's especially acute for rabbits after Easter. In the U.K., for instance, Pets at Home bans the sale of rabbits ahead of Easter. The 370-store chain instead gives would-be bunny buyers a voucher for after the holiday in an effort to stem impulse purchases.

US Ambassador Slams Mayor Pete For Pushing ‘Hate Hoax’ About Mike Pence
Richard Grenell, the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, slammed Democrat presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg’s recent attacks on Vice President Mike Pence, likening the homosexual mayor’s conduct to that of Jussie Smollett.
Grenell, who is also gay, took issue with Buttigieg’s incendiary targeting of Pence over his Christian faith and supposed anti-LGBT positions, asserting that the vice president and his wife have always treated Grenell and his partner with nothing but kindness and respect.
“Mayor Pete has been pushing this hate hoax along the lines of Jussie Smollett for a very long time now – several weeks – and I find it really ironic that Mayor Pete stayed silent about this so-called hate hoax on him and others during 2015, 2016, 2017, when Mike Pence was governor,” Grenell told Fox host Martha MacCallum. “It’s ironic that right about now when he’s starting his fundraising apparatus to run for president, he comes up with this idea and this attack.”

Keeping the Hoax Alive
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent a “Dear Colleague” letter assuring Democrat representatives that a Monday conference call would address the “alarming findings” in the Mueller report.
In her opening salvo, Pelosi characterized the Mueller report released by Attorney General Barr as a “disrespectfully late and selectively redacted version of Special Counsel Mueller’s report,” promising further news and action taken “as soon as our analysis and this Holy Season’s religious traditions allow.”
“As we continue to review this document, we will have more to report and will update you on the next steps that must be taken,” Pelosi wrote. “The Caucus is scheduling a conference call for Monday to discuss this grave matter.”

Human trafficking survivor tells her story in Elkton
ELKTON — Human traffickers seek out teenage girls and young women who are vulnerable — and that’s what Shamere McKenzie was some 14 years ago.
McKenzie was a junior majoring in criminal justice at a New York college, when a hamstring injury resulted in her losing her full track scholarship, leaving her looking for a way to finance her education. After securing a college loan, she still needed $3,000.
Around that time, McKenzie met a handsome, educated man who listened intently to everything that she had to say, and they started seeing each other regularly.
He provided McKenzie free lodging in a basement apartment, so she no longer would have to pay for her off-campus housing. And he provided her with a job that, at the outset, seemed innocent enough.

How Rudy Giuliani saved Donald Trump
Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump's lawyer, was greeted like a conquering hero when he arrived in the atrium of the Trump International Hotel on Thursday evening, hours after the publication of the long-awaited Mueller report.
Well-wishers cheered and clapped before he disappeared upstairs for dinner.
As the fallout from special counsel Robert Mueller's 448-page report reverberated through Washington a day later, allies of the president praised Giuliani’s legal strategy for ensuring President Trump was not among the hundreds of witnesses who sat down with investigators.
A former campaign and administration official said Giuliani had stayed one step ahead of prosecutors, who, in the view of Trump allies, were never going to be able to prove collusion and whose only hope was to catch the president lying to prosecutors.

CBP to Build Temporary Facilities to Address Humanitarian Crisis on Southwest Border
WASHINGTON —U.S. Customs and Border Protection awarded a contract Thursday to Deployed Resources LLC of Rome, New York, to construct soft-sided temporary facilities in El Paso and Donna, Texas. Valued at $36.9 million, the contract is for a four-month base period with four one-month options.
“The humanitarian and border security crisis on our Southwest border has stretched our resources and processing facilities to the breaking point,” said John P. Sanders, the senior official performing the duties of Commissioner. “These temporary facilities will support our efforts to process, care for and transfer the unprecedented number of families and unaccompanied children crossing the border illegally each day.”
CBP’s Office of Facilities and Asset Management will oversee the construction of the facilities, which are expected to be operational as soon as May 1.
The temporary soft-sided facilities will each accommodate up to 500 individuals in CBP custody while they await transfer to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or to the Department of Health and Human Services. The temporary structures are weatherproof and provide areas for eating, sleeping, recreation and personal hygiene.
The contract provides for shower trailers, chemical toilets and sinks, laundry trailers, sleeping mats, kitchen equipment, personal property storage boxes, office space, interior and perimeter closed circuit television, lockers, security, power and HVAC services.

Trump rakes in $1M after Mueller report
The Trump campaign raised over $1 million in the 24 hours after the release of the Mueller report on Thursday.
A text message blast to supporters from the Trump campaign on Friday afternoon said the campaign had hit its goal.

House Republicans leave border tour shocked to learn immigrant children being recycled by smugglers
YUMA, Ariz. — Congressional Republicans who toured part of the southern border this week saw first-hand the number of families and children arriving.
But the House lawmakers were shocked at the idea that smugglers recycle children across the border.
“I think the entire delegation was shocked,” said Luke Ball, press secretary for Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla.
The Washington Examiner was riding along with Reps. John Joyce of Pennsylvania, Pete Stauber of Minnesota, Dusty Johnson of South Dakota, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Gaetz Tuesday night when officials leading the tour pointed to a group of more than 40 people who had just crossed through the Colorado River south of the Morelos Dam and surrendered to Border Patrol agents less than a quarter-mile into the U.S.

Warren: Begin Trump impeachment
Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Friday became the first major 2020 Democratic presidential candidate to urge her party to begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump in the wake of the special counsel’s newly released report.
Ms. Warren took to Twitter to announce her support for impeachment, saying the special counsel’s findings show a president unfit for office.
“The severity of this misconduct demands that elected officials in both parties set aside political considerations and do their constitutional duty. That means the House should initiate impeachment proceedings against the president of the United States,” she said.

Dirty Cop Robert Mueller Knew There Was No Collusion Before Midterm Elections — Kept Quiet to Help Democrats
Democrats flipped the US House in the midterm elections thanks to Anti-Trumper Paul Ryan, ballot-harvesting in California and the Mueller Special Counsel.
Now it appears dirty cop Robert Mueller, who stacked a special counsel full of partisan Democrats, knew there was no collusion between ANY Trump campaign official and Russia but sat on their discovery for over a year. These partisan Democrats leaked everything to their liberal cohorts in the press to hurt the Trump administration. But this never got leaked. Mueller assisted Democrats in the midterm election.

Teen In Bangladesh Allegedly Sexually Harassed By Her Headmaster. She's Burned To Death After Reporting It.
In late March, a 19-year-old girl in Bangladesh told police that the headmaster at her madrassah had sexually harassed her, prompting his arrest. After the video of her statement was leaked to social media, she was burned to death on the roof of her school by a group of people, some of whom she identified as fellow students before she died.
As the BBC reports, Nusrat Jahan Rafi, who hailed from the small town of Feni and came from a conservative religious family, said that on March 27 she was called to the headmaster’s office. She claimed later that the headmaster, Ud Doula, had touched her in inappropriate ways, prompting her to flee. That very day, she went to the police, where she offered a statement that was videotaped by the police officer in charge.
Buzzfeed News reported, “The police officer is heard saying it's ‘not a big deal’ and telling her to ‘move your hands from the face, stop crying, nothing happened that you have to cry.’" The video was later leaked to local media.
The headmaster was arrested that day, but then male students launched a protest demanding he be released. From there things got worse for the girl; people blamed her instead of the headmaster.

Subject: Black Leaders Slam Hollywood for Pushing Abortion on Black Women
A coalition of black women pro-life leaders is calling upon Hollywood elites to end their push for more abortions of black babies as the way for black women to escape poverty and abuse.
The women leaders, who are part of a larger group of black leaders known as the National Black Prolife Coalition, say they view abortion as a “cruel detriment to the growth of their communities.”
“For decades, Planned Parenthood’s slick advertising has promoted the genocide against communities of color,” Denise Walker of Rich in Mercy, an abortion recovery organization, said in the leaders’ statement. “They target our children for death, and use Gabrielle Union, Tracee Ellis Ross and Uzo Aduba to convince women to hate their children and kill them.”
“These women are not leaders – they are executioners,” Walker added. “Shame on them for hating Black, Latina and Asian children!”
The black leaders assert that Hollywood celebrities bent on opposing recent “Heartbeat” abortion bans passed in some states are actually supporting “the number one culprit” of the killings of millions of black women and children.

While I feel lucky to have been able to spend the last 15 years of my career in public service, I am looking forward to my next endeavor in the private sector where I have the opportunity to continue to work toward increasing the safety of our community.

Outbreak of Colorblindness Strikes Chicago Reporters
Chicago picked a strange time to go all colorblind on us. The occasion was the occasional riot in one of America’s premier high-end shopping districts: the Magnificent Mile.
Wednesday night, 500 people rampaged through downtown looting, destroying property, attacking white people, defying police, stopping traffic, threatening tourists, and created lots of mayhem and chaos.
All on video. Some of which you can find here.
If local media is to be believed, race had nothing to do with the fact that every single one of the rioters was black.
Strange behavior from a local media that is obsessed with race, especially white racism and black victimization. Every day, it is easy to find stories in Chicago about black schools, black politicians, black businesses, black neighborhoods, black income, black funeral homes, black mayors, black police chiefs, black district attorneys, black football players, black baseball players, black churches, black music, black television, black movies, black actors (wassup Jussie!!!), black history, black community activists, black nationalists and of course all the things that white people do to constantly aggravate them and force them into crime and violence wildly out of proportion.

CNN Op-Ed Admits "Mueller's Report Looks Bad For Obama"
With Congressional Democrats tantruming over redactions, presidential candidates out-virtue-signalling one another in denigration of Trump (for what it is unclear) calling for impeachment (again, for what is unclear) and the liberal media desperate for a distraction from the embarrassment of their two-year harassment in lieu of the main headline - "no collusion, no obstruction;" few if any among the mainstream have noticed (or mentioned) one tiny little detail in the Mueller Report... the 'confirmed' interference by Russia in the 2016 US Election took place - knowingly - under President Obama's watch.
But amid all this sound and fury, something odd happened. The 'powers-that-be' at CNN - ground zero for the Trump's-a-traitorous-Putin-Puppet propaganda - have allowed the publication of an op-ed amid their hallowed pages that casts blame at the anointed one. CNN contributor Scott Jennings - soon to be exiled from every social media platform we suspect - dared to point out that the Mueller report looks bad for Obama.

CNN contributor Scott Jennings - soon to be exiled from every social media platform we suspect - dared to point out that the Mueller report looks bad for Obama.
The partisan warfare over the Mueller report will rage, but one thing cannot be denied: Former President Barack Obama looks just plain bad. On his watch, the Russians meddled in our democracy while his administration did nothing about it.More
The Mueller report flatly states that Russia began interfering in American democracy in 2014. Over the next couple of years, the effort blossomed into a robust attempt to interfere in our 2016 presidential election. The Obama administration knew this was going on and yet did nothing. In 2016, Obama's National Security Adviser Susan Rice told her staff to "stand down" and "knock it off" as they drew up plans to "strike back" against the Russians, according to an account from Michael Isikoff and David Corn in their book "Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin's War on America and the Election of Donald Trump".
Fourth case of measles diagnoses in Maryland
BALTIMORE — A fourth case of measles has been reported in Maryland, the state's Department of Health confirmed Friday.
The case is confined to the same set of zip codes for which the previous three cases were found – 21208, 21209, and 21215. The Department of Health warns anyone who visited 4000 Old Court Road in Pikesville on Tuesday April 16, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. they may have been exposed to measles.
This is the third time health officials have warned about potential exposure tied to that address. Previously, anyone who had been to that location on April 2, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., or on April 14, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. may have been exposed to the virus. Officials also warned of potential exposure for anyone who visited Market Maven from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or Seven Mile Market from 12:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Both locations are in Pikesville.

Subject: Visa Overstays a Bigger Immigration Crisis Than Mexico Border
Visa overstays have a more significant impact on immigration than illegal border crossings, The Atlantic reports.
Robert Warren, the former director of the statistics division of Immigration and Naturalization Service, which later became U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and currently a senior visiting fellow at the Center for Migration Studies, found that visa overstays outnumber border crossings by a 2 to 1 margin.
The Atlantic notes that visa overstays have outnumbered illegal border crossings every year for the past seven years. The Center for Migration Studies found in a report that about 515,000 people arrived in this country illegally in 2016, and that about three-fifths, or 320,000, overstayed their visas, while the rest entered by illegally crossing the border.

Trump administration's order to match Social Security numbers could affect Valley businesses
RESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Valley employers are scrambling after receiving letters from the Social Security Administration, warning that many of their employees' numbers do not match.
Most are undocumented workers using phony social security numbers.
The letters only require employers to advise their employees of the discrepancy, but it's assumed many workers will flee, fearing deportation.
The fear is next will be ICE Raids on businesses and deportations. It's something Congressman Jim Costa of Fresno says we need to acknowledge and address.

‘GOD BLESS AMERICA’ OUT AT YANKEE STADIUM OVER SINGER’S RACIST SONGS
The New York Yankees have decided to no longer run Kate Smith’s version of “God Bless America” during their seventh-inning stretch because of Smith’s affiliation with songs that carried racist lyrics.
Most famously, Smith sang a 1931 song, “That’s Why Darkies Were Born,” which opened: “Someone had to pick the cotton, Someone had to pick the corn, Someone had to slave and be able to sing, That’s why darkies were born.”
The song, which has been called a satirical take on racism, was a big hit for Smith, and also was recorded by Paul Robeson.

Court rules House can bar secular prayer from atheist
A D.C. federal appeals court ruled Friday that the House of Representatives does not have to allow a self-described atheist to deliver secular prayers.
The Good Friday ruling concerned efforts by Dan Barker, co-president of the Freedom from Religion Foundation, to pray in the House chamber as a guest chaplain -- only to be turned down by Father Patrick Conroy, the House chaplain.
The court, however, sided with Conroy in determining the House was in its right to require prayers be religious in nature.
“We could not order Conroy to allow Barker to deliver a secular invocation because the House permissibly limits the opening prayer to religious prayer. Barker has therefore failed to state a claim for which relief can be granted,” the opinion stated.
Article I, Section 5 of the Constitution declares that both the House and Senate “may determine the rules of its proceedings.”
