Former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow wowed fans and surprised critics with a solid performance Wednesday in his first Double-A All-Star Game, hitting a double in his first at-bat.
The thirty-year-old fan favorite was in the Eastern League team’s starting lineup and played all nine innings. He ended up going 1-for-4 with an opposite-field double and a strikeout, according to ESPN.

Is Dixie A Captive Nation?
Is the South today a captive nation? Most Southerners would never consider the question—most likely because they would deem the issue to be absurd. But is it inane to ask such a question—is it forbidden in politically correct America to ask such a “confrontational” question? Conservatives would immediately dismiss such rhetorical questions as being unpatriotic or even treasonous—after all, everyone knows we live in “one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Liberals, on the other hand, would immediately dismiss the question by repeating two words—slavery, racist, slavery, racist, etc., etc., etc. Despite the soft-censorship efforts of both left and right to limit free discussion, the question will be asked!
What are the hallmarks of a captive nation?[1] What are the features captive nations share that distinguish them from sovereign nations? I can think of at least seven features which current captive nations share with other captive nations in modern history:
First: The captive nation’s former military forces were defeated by the invading nation’s military. From now on, the invading nation will be referred to as the “Empire” because most, but not all, captive nations were/are victims of Empires, such as captive nations held by the former Soviet, Nazi, Japanese, and British Empires.
Liberals and most conservatives will immediately dismiss the question based upon their assertion that the South is not a captive nation because it was never a nation and therefore, by definition, cannot be a captive nation. What are the parameters of a nation? Did the South measure up to the description of a nation from 1861 to 1865?

Bizarre, Creepy Video Of Peter Strzok Smirking Goes Viral
While Peter Strzok's marathon Congressional testimony was full of bickering, chaos and drama - mostly between members of the House Judiciary and Oversight committees - a clip of the disgraced FBI agent's seemingly giddy reaction after answering a question is creeping people out.

Is this actually real or has it been manipulated in some way?
Completely real. I personally recorded it from my tv. I was so shocked when I saw it and played it back. I only cut the first part of the arguing. This is the full recording I captured. I couldn’t believe it. pic.twitter.com/fL3Ji16qP1
More People Use a Gun in Self-Defense Each Year Than Die in Car Accidents
How is it that so many kids raised on “Harry Potter”, “The Hunger Games”, “Star Wars”, and all the Marvel action figure movies manage to miss a critical point of the stories? The lesson being: If you want to prevail over evil villains, you must have the proper tools to fight back.
Millions of people protect themselves and their families with guns every day in the United States. They choose guns as a means of self-defense for the same reason the Secret Service uses them to protect the president: guns stop bad people from doing bad things to good people.
It’s absurd to speak about the right of self-defense in theory but then deny people the tools they need to exercise that right.

3 Democrats Won't Vote For Own Bill to Abolish ICE
Three House Democrats won't vote for their own bill to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement if it is brought up for a vote.
Reps. Mark Pocan (D., Wis.), Pramila Jayapal (D., Wash.) and Adriano Espaillat (D., N.Y.) introduced The Establishing a Humane Immigration Enforcement System Act on Thursday.
Republican House leadership announced earlier on Thursday that they would allow the bill to be brought to a vote in order to force members to officially state their position on whether the law enforcement agency, better known as ICE, should be abolished.
House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R., La.) told The Hill that he strongly was against abolishing ICE but would still bring the bill to a vote.

Man Shoots Burglar, Family Predictably Cries Foul
What is it about family that makes it so you can be absolutely convinced that despite them engaging in a criminal act, they’re still somehow angels?
I ask because it seems that no matter what the circumstances, when someone gets shot, the family will invariably step up and pontificate on just why that person shouldn’t have been killed.
In this case, a man killed in an Iowa store burglary is as pure as the driven snow or something. Well, maybe not. The family at least admits he was in the wrong for stealing, but they still think he shouldn’t be dead.
Police said that business owner 67-year-old Thomas Kraft, of Des Moines, discovered the burglary when he arrived at the store and found a pickup truck loaded with his merchandise.
Kraft shot and killed an intruder, identified as 37-year-old Amund Haarstad, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, police said. It’s the city’s sixth homicide so far this year.
There was still broken glass and a broken door at the scene Wednesday night. Kraft was taken to a hospital for an unrelated medical issue.

Judge Rules in Favor of Group of Asylum-Seeking Iranians
Court: DHS cannot issue blanket denials under Lautenberg Program
Advocates for a group of nearly 90 Christian and other religious-minority refugees from Iran are praising a ruling by a federal judge in California earlier this week that forces the Trump administration to reconsider their asylum requests after issuing a blanket denial of all of them earlier this year.
The refugees and U.S. human rights activists representing their interests say the decision is a break-through in a troubling case that has left the group of Iranians marooned in Vienna and has earned the sympathy and attention of a bipartisan group of lawmakers in Congress, as well as high-level Trump administration officials.
Since the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) denied their asylum applications en masse in February, the group has been left in limbo in Vienna, unable either to return to Iran out of fear of further persecution and possible death or to reunite with family members or other sponsors in the U.S.
"It's a step in the right direction, and we're happy that the court recognizes that the government can't just use whatever terms it wants [to deny these applicants]. It has to follow what Congress intended this program to be—to give heightened protections to these Iranian Christians and Mandaeans and other religious minorities," Mariko Hirose, who serves as the litigation director for International Refugee Assistance Project in New York, told the Washington Free Beacon.

Former Clinton Lawyer Urges Hillary Not To Run In 2020 "For Her Family's Sake"
The last week has seen mounting speculation that former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is seeking to make a “comeback” and challenge Donald Trump a second time in the next U.S. presidential election of 2020.
Rumors of another Clinton campaign in the works comes amid the former candidate’s recent uptick in public appearances and fund-raising appeals, and after writer Michael Goodwin floated the idea that Clinton could be gearing up for a presidential run in 2020 on Saturday in the New York Post.
As Mint Press News' Whitney Webb writes, Clinton’s recent return to the public arena coincided with her efforts to challenge Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy, particularly the scandal caused by separations of migrant families at the U.S. border. Even though Clinton has long advocated for building a border fence and similar “zero tolerance” immigration measures comparable to those of Trump, she used the outrage to launch her return to the public eye, raising more than $1.5 million for separated families.
Clinton has also used the recent resignation of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy as another rallying point, having announced a new partnership with groups contesting Trump’s judicial nominees soon after Kennedy’s announcement.

Schumer demands...
The most powerful Democrat on Capitol Hill said Friday that President Trump should call off his summit next week with Russian leader Vladimir Putin after prosecutors indicted Russian military operatives for hacking the 2016 election.
Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, said the indictments prove Mr. Putin’s government interfered with the election — and said Mr. Trump needs to take steps to make clear he understands the gravity of that.
“President Trump should cancel his meeting with Vladimir Putin until Russia takes demonstrable and transparent steps to prove that they won’t interfere in future elections,” Mr. Schumer said. “Glad-handing with Vladimir Putin on the heels of these indictments would be an insult to our democracy.”

Virginia County Votes to Arm Teachers, Pay for Their Guns
Virginia’s Lee County school district voted to arm teachers and pay for their guns and training.
Lee County is the first in the state to allow teachers to be armed.
WJHL quotes Lee County School Board Chairman Michael Kidwell saying, “The only way to fight a gun if somebody comes through these doors with a gun to shoot our students, is with another gun.”
School board member Rob Hines added, “At least it gives us a chance. If we sat there and did nothing, I couldn’t sleep at night. At least we’re trying to do something.”
Members of the board also noted that arming teachers was the most cost efficient means of increasing school safety. And numerous teachers have already volunteered to carry guns.
The school district agreed to pay for the teachers’ guns and also to cover the cost of their training.
On June 16, 2018, Breitbart News reported that nearly 220 Texas school districts allow staff to be armed.

McCarthy: Dems Will Get to Vote to Abolish All Immigration Enforcement Before Midterms
GOP House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy says the Democrats will get to vote to abolish all interior immigration enforcement before the 2018 midterm elections.
As Breitbart News reported, House Democrats have crafted legislation that would abolish the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency — the sole law enforcement unit tasked with arresting and deporting criminal illegal aliens.
If Democrats had their way and ICE had been abolished five years ago, back in 2013, there would have been at least 1.64 million illegal aliens — many of whom are convicted criminals — released into U.S. neighborhoods and communities rather than being deported, as Breitbart News reported.
On Thursday, McCarthy confirmed to NBC News that he will put the Democrats’ “abolish ICE” legislation up for a vote in the House before Congress’s August recess.
Though House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has not endorsed the abolish ICE bill, every Senate Democrat has already signed onto legislation that would end all border and immigration enforcement in a rebuke to President Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Americans — even Democrat voters — are by a vast majority opposed to abolishing ICE.

Dems Introduce ICE Abolition Bill With Few Real Details
Sponsors say they won't vote for their own bill
Democratic representatives Mark Pocan (Wisc.), Pramila Jayapal (Wash.), and Adriano Espaillat (N.Y.) introduced a bill Thursday evening to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The bill, the "Establishing a Humane Immigration Enforcement System Act," does not actually outline the details of what rolling back ICE would entail or what a replacement would look like. Rather, it creates a Commission to "Study and Establish a Fair and Humane System of Immigration and Customs Enforcement," responsible for bringing to Congress a proposal to abolish ICE within six months of its first meeting.
The commission would be composed of 17 members: eight selected by members of Congress and nine appointed from "the major civil society and immigrants' rights organizations and individuals directly impacted by ICE practices." Such a group would be likely be made up of individuals strongly sympathetic to Democratic and left-leaning policy proposals.
The commission is given little guidance in how to redesign ICE, with the bill stipulating only that those functions of ICE that comport with the Constitution and international human rights law be incorporated into some other agency, based on an agency's fitness and track record of transparency and compliance with Congressional oversight.

WaPo Reporter Falsely Claims Russian Hackers First Targeted Clinton Campaign After Urging From Trump
A Washington Post reporter falsely claimed Friday that the beginning of the Russian effort to hack Hillary Clinton's campaign emails came the very same day that her opponent, Donald Trump, called on Russia to find Clinton's State Department emails.
On July 27, 2016, Trump spoke directly to Russia during a news conference. "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing," he said, referring to Clinton's deleted emails from her time as secretary of state.
The Trump administration would later claim the remarks were a joke, but the Clinton campaign criticized the comments at the time, saying, "This has to be the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent."
After the Justice Department announced Friday that a federal grand jury indicted 12 Russian government officials for hacking the computer networks of Clinton and the Democratic Party,Washington Post reporter Christopher Ingraham tweeted a screenshot of a portion of the indictment, claiming that Russia's hacking attempts began the very evening Trump made his remarks.

Daughter Of Philadelphia Democratic Royalty Gets Six Years For Taking $2 Million In Health Clinic Fraud
A longtime Philadelphia city employee was sentenced to nearly seven years in federal prison on Thursday for siphoning over $2 million from the public mental health clinic she ran.
Renee Tartaglione, 63, was convicted of 53 counts of conspiracy, fraud, theft and tax crimes on June 23, 2017.
She is the daughter of former Philadelphia city elections chief Marge Tartaglione, according to NBC 10. Her sister is long-serving Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Christine Tartaglione.
Renee Tartaglione drained money from the nonprofit Juniata Community Mental Health Clinic by charging excessive rent after moving the organization to buildings she owned. She and other employees, including members of the politically connected Acosta family, also accepted exorbitant checks for work they did not do, reported the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Hillary Clinton Warns That Trump’s Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh Would Bring Back Slavery, Take America Back ‘to the 1850s'
On Friday morning, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton suggested that President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, would bring back slavery if he is confirmed to the nation's highest court.
"Let me say a word about the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court," Clinton told the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) at its national convention. "This nomination holds out the threat of devastating consequences for workers rights, civil rights, LGBT rights, women’s rights — including those to make our own health decisions."
"It is a blatant attempt by this administration to shift the balance of the Court for decades and to reverse decades of progress," the former Democratic presidential nominee declared.
Then came the kicker: "I used to worry that they [the Republicans] wanted to turn the clock back to the 1950s. Now I worry they want to turn it back to the 1850s."

Devin Nunes scores victory, access to FBI informant docs expanded
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has scored a victory in his effort to uncover information about the FBI's use of an informant who sought out suspicious ties between President Trump's 2016 campaign and the Russians.
While classified documents about that informant — Stefan Halper, an American academic — had originally been shared only with members of an exclusive group of congressional leaders, Nunes had pushed for expanded access to all members of the House and Senate Intelligence panels.
A letter sent Thursday by the Democratic members of the “Gang of Eight" reveals that those records have now been shared more broadly.

Scarlett Johansson Drops Out of Transgender Film Role, Calls Her Initial Response to Critics 'Insensitive'
Scarlett Johansson announced Friday that she is dropping out of a movie in which she is cast as a transgender man, calling her initial response to criticism about getting the part "insensitive."
Johansson released a statement to Out.com about her decision to withdraw fromRub and Tug, in which she was slated to portray Dante "Tex" Gill. Gill was born female but assumed a male identity while operating a massage parlor and prostitution business in Pittsburgh in the 1970s and 1980s, according to the the Hollywood Reporter. Critics like trans actors Trace Lysette and Jamie Clayton said it was inappropriate for her to take the part because she is cisgender, someone who identifies with their birth sex.
"In light of recent ethical questions raised surrounding my casting as Dante Tex Gill, I have decided to respectfully withdraw my participation in the project. Our cultural understanding of transgender people continues to advance, and I've learned a lot from the community since making my first statement about my casting and realize it was insensitive," Johansson said.

Hundreds Of Lost Animals Have Been Reunited With Their Owners On SBYNews
"Coco Dale /My dog
has been returned
due to your site.
I am truly grateful,
THANK You"!
Another satisfied customer. When I created this lost and found section almost 14 years ago we never thought it would become the success that it has. For what it's worth, we have reunited every single lost animal with the exception of a few animals that had been hit by a car and unfortunately passed away.
Another part that I can say I'm proud of is how we encouraged other media sources to get involved with the Humane Society and the adoption of animals. Heck, even WBOC, (liberal scumbags) will whore themselves out for a quick fix by drawing in a car dealership to get people to bring in food and treats for animals. I actually think the only animal the WBOC staff likes are Gerbils.
No matter what, my entire plan worked and we have a 100% success ratio on reuniting animals thanks to all of YOU. It also proves just how many people follow SBYNews, when you can reunite animals withing 20 minutes, the usual time frame it takes to find these animals/owners.
Keep up the great work Folks and thank you.
New game show, 'Paid Off', pays off contestants’ student loan debt
Student loan debt has ingrained itself in modern culture, sadly, and TruTV is offering a solution to a few lucky contestants in a new game show called “Paid Off.”
The game show, which premiered Tuesday night, is hosted by comedian Michael Torpey from "Orange is the New Black." It’s described as a “Family Feud-style” competition where “three lucky college grads — saddled with student debt — [get] the chance to test the depth of their degrees in a fun, fast paced trivia gameshow,” according to TruTV.
The winner of each show gets the chance to have their student debt wiped out.
According to MarketWatch, Torpey believes several factors play into the massive student loan debt crisis, including banks and loan companies, as well as greedy colleges and lax government policies. He’s excited to offer financial relief to a few lucky game show winners.
If Twitter is any indication, a lot of millennials want in on the action.

The Case That Now Makes Gun Control Truly Impossible
Gun control is the dream of every wannabe statist dictator and naive do-gooder alike. The latter think that removing guns will suddenly force humanity to stop all animosity toward one another, hold hands, and sing Kumbaya. The former recognizes that an armed populace is a threat to any tyrant and pushes for gun control out of self-preservation.
However, a new ruling in a court case over 3-D printer files of guns has now made gun control virtually impossible.
FIVE YEARS AGO, 25-year-old radical libertarian Cody Wilson stood on a remote central Texas gun range and pulled the trigger on the world’s first fully 3-D-printed gun. When, to his relief, his plastic invention fired a .380-caliber bullet into a berm of dirt without jamming or exploding in his hands, he drove back to Austin and uploaded the blueprints for the pistol to his website, Defcad.com.
He’d launched the site months earlier along with an anarchist video manifesto, declaring that gun control would never be the same in an era when anyone can download and print their own firearm with a few clicks. In the days after that first test-firing, his gun was downloaded more than 100,000 times. Wilson made the decision to go all in on the project, dropping out of law school at the University of Texas, as if to confirm his belief that technology supersedes law.
The law caught up. Less than a week later, Wilson received a letter from the US State Department demanding that he take down his printable-gun blueprints or face prosecution for violating federal export controls. Under an obscure set of US regulations known as the International Trade in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Wilson was accused of exporting weapons without a license, just as if he’d shipped his plastic gun to Mexico rather than put a digital version of it on the internet. He took Defcad.com offline, but his lawyer warned him that he still potentially faced millions of dollars in fines and years in prison simply for having made the file available to overseas downloaders for a few days. “I thought my life was over,” Wilson says.

South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy took off the gloves Thursday as he questioned biased FBI agent Peter Strzok about being kicked off the Russia probe.
In a tense exchange before the House Oversight and House Judiciary committees, the former FBI Deputy Assistant Director attempted to claim his texts weren’t the reason he was booted from the investigation – rather, he says, FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller was worried about the “appearance” his anti-Trump texts might create.
At one point Gowdy tells Strzok he “doesn’t give a damn” how the agent feels about how he worded a question. Here’s a transcript of the tense exchange:

GOP Rep. Gohmert unloads on 'smirking' Strzok: 'How many times did you look so innocent into your wife's eyes and lie to her?'
An already raucous hours-long Congressional hearing into FBI agent Peter Strzok's apparent anti-Trump bias boiled over on Thursday afternoon, as a top Republican asked the "smirking" Strzok whether he was lying under oath the same way he "lied" to his wife while he carried on an affair with now-former FBI lawyer Lisa Page.
"The disgrace is what this man has done to our justice system," Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, shouted over objections by Democrats. "I can't help but wonder, when I see you looking there with a little smirk, how many times did you look so innocent into your wife's eyes and lie to her about Lisa Page?"
Democrats immediately erupted into more objections, with one yelling, "Mr. Chairman, this is intolerable harassment of the witness" and another calling out, "You need your medication."
Strzok and Page exchanged numerous text messages on their FBI-issued phones expressing hostility toward then-candidate Trump in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, even as Strzok was a lead investigator on the Hillary Clinton and Russian meddling probes.

"Dealers Are Taking Control" - Baltimore Murder Rate Soars As Police Ease Up On Stops
When Attorney General Jeff Sessions said at a gathering of police officials back in May that "if you want crime to go up, let the ACLU run the police department," he may have had a point. While opponents of "aggressive" police tactics like stop and frisk and other "broken windows"-type policing have complain about the injustice faced by minorities who they say are disproportionately and unfairly targeted by police, the city of Baltimore is demonstrating what happens when police dial back stops for minor violations like street-level drug dealing and other "everyday violations."
According to USA Today, since the death of Freddie Gray and the arrest of several officers who were charged with murder for allegedly playing a role in his death (he died handcuffed in the back of a police van after reportedly breaking his neck) police in Baltimore have "stopped noticing" small crimes and minor violations. The officers who were charged were acquitted, but the incident ended their careers, and the Baltimore Police Department faced a 2016 Department of Justice investigation that found the city's police routinely violated the constitutional rights of the city's residents. More than 150 people have been killed in the city already this year, compared with 342 last year, which was the city's deadliest on record.
Unsurprisingly, shootings soared...

Brett Kavanaugh will sail through Supreme Court confirmation and the angry New York Times knows it
There’s no reason to believe Judge Brett Kavanaugh won’t get a quick confirmation hearing, and you can base that solely on how unjustifiably angry the New York Times is about his nomination.
Kavanaugh has served as a federal judge for more than a decade now, and yet the Times’ front-page headline covering his nomination reduced his stature to “former Bush aide.”
The paper’s editorial board conceded this week that President Trump and congressional Republicans “will almost certainly win” any fight to confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court but not without first casting doubt over his legitimacy.

Trump Refuses to Take Question From Jim Acosta: 'CNN Is Fake News; I Don't Take Questions From CNN'
President Donald Trump refused to take a question from CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta during a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Theresa May on Friday, saying that he does not take questions from CNN and that the network is "fake news."
Trump took multiple questions from reporters during the press conference in Chequers, U.K., ranging from his upcoming summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki on Monday to his recent interview with The Sun, in which he criticized May and questioned the possibility of a U.S.-U.K. trade deal.
After Trump finished an answer, reporters in the audience raised their hands to ask another question, including Acosta, who interjected to ask a question since Trump criticized CNN. Acosta several times asked if he could pose a question, but Trump instead called on Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts.
Trump then addressed Acosta directly after he continued to try to ask a question.

Kamala Harris Reportedly Said ‘No’ to a SCOTUS Courtesy Call
The office of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) bluntly rejected a courtesy call from the White House in the run-up to Monday’s Supreme Court nomination, according to a senior White House aide.
The Democratic California senator’s office told White House counsel Don McGahn, “We want nothing to do with you,” according to the account.
The senator’s office has since denied making the statement. Asked about the claim, her office confirmed that the senator’s chief of staff, not Harris, spoke with a McGahn aide — but denied the quote.
According to the White House, the brusque response came as McGahn reached out to each Senate Judiciary Committee member to discuss the Supreme Court confirmation process. Fox News reported that Harris’ office was the only one to reject the discussion.
The incident underscores the deeply partisan environment surrounding appeals court Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination.

U.S. intel chief warns of devastating cyber threat to U.S. infrastructure
The U.S. intelligence chief warned on Friday that the threat was growing for a devastating cyber assault on critical U.S. infrastructure, saying the "warning lights are blinking red again" nearly two decades after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
Russia, China, Iran and North Korea are launching daily cyber strikes on the computer networks of federal, state and local government agencies, U.S. corporations, and academic institutions, said Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.
Of the four, "Russia has been the most aggressive foreign actor, no question," he said.
Coats spoke at the Hudson Institute think tank shortly after the Department of Justice announced the indictment of 12 Russian military intelligence officers on charges of hacking into the computers of the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton and Democratic Party organizations.
The indictment and Coats' comments came three days before U.S. President Donald Trump was to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin for talks in Helsinki, Trump's first formal summit with Putin.
The summit will begin with one-on-one talks between the two leaders in which Trump has said he will raise the U.S. intelligence assessment that Russia used cyber attacks and other means to meddle in the 2016 election, a charge Moscow denies.

President Trump shared on social media Thursday a letter he received from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un last week, in which Kim says he appreciated the "energetic and extraordinary" diplomatic efforts made by the Trump administration to engage the rogue nation.
"The significant first meeting with Your Excellency and the joint statement that we signed together in Singapore 24 days ago was indeed the start of a meaningful journey," Kim wrote in the note, dated July 6, of the pair's historic summit on June 12.
"I firmly believe that the strong will, sincere efforts and unique approach of myself and Your Excellency Mr. President aimed at opening up a new future between the DPRK and the U.S. will surely come to fruition," Kim continued.

Ordeal: The girl was pinned to a bed in the hotel room and raped by Zakaria, before he took her into the bathroom and raped her a second time. The girl went back into the bedroom where Abdirizak raped her. Several of the girls were groomed to the extent they believed the sexual abuse was part of loving relationships they were having with the defendants, and that having sex with their ’boyfriend’s’ friends was part of their ’culture and tradition’.
Of the four girls, three were white and one mixed race, with a fifth girl witnessing many of the sickening assaults. The girls, aged between just 13 and 17 were in local authority care and fell into the evil clutches of the paedophiles who used the fear of rape to control them. Some were persuaded to have sex with their ’boyfriend’s’ friends as it was Somali ’culture and tradition’ and ’men always have sex with each other’s girlfriends’.

Obama Returns to Boost Eric Holder-Led Group Targeting Republicans in 12 States
The National Democratic Redistricting Committee raised $11 million in 2017 to challenge Republicans
Former president Barack Obama, who has maintained a low profile since leaving the White House, reemerged in a new video to garner support for a redistricting group led by former attorney general Eric Holder that is targeting Republican politicians in a dozen states across the country.
The National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), a group headquartered in Washington, D.C., and chaired by Holder, emailed the video out on Wednesday. The NDRC seeks to enact a "comprehensive" strategy to impact the 2021 redistricting process by using electoral, legal, and ballot initiative components.
"In America, politicians shouldn't pick their voters. Voters are supposed to pick their politicians," Obama says in the video. "That's why I supported former attorney general Eric Holder in starting the National Democratic Redistricting Committee." The group argues that Republican-controlled legislatures have locked in "structural advantages" that would determine future elections.
"Of course, that's good for special interests—who want to protect tax breaks for the most powerful—or the gun lobby, or environmental polluters, but it's not good for our children," Obama says in the video.

Georgetown Deletes Pro-Abortion Web Page After TFP Student Action Protest
After TFP Student Action launched a protest petition, Georgetown University disabled a web page that encouraged students to donate time and money to mega abortion provider Planned Parenthood and other organizations that defy God's law by promoting abortion and same-sex "marriage."
The university's Law Library web page dedicated to the "History of Civil Rights in the United States" included a pitch to support pro-abortion groups that deny the first and most basic human right -- the right to life.
In other words, Georgetown favored the abortion movement and its attempt to disfigure the truth by suggesting that the grave sin of abortion is a "civil right." When in reality, nothing can be more outrageous than to call the killing of a small, defenseless and innocent human being created by God for a unique purpose a "civil right," especially on a campus that purports to be Catholic.
"Since the page clearly violated Georgetown's Catholic identity, thousands of concerned students and parents signed TFP Student Action's petition, calling for the removal of the page," said John Ritchie, TFP Student Action Director. "Thank God the petition was successful because the pro-abortion page is no longer accessible."

Louie Gohmert on why he went there with Peter Strzok: 'It's the lying'
Rep. Louis Gohmert, R-Texas, said Friday that he slammed FBI agent Peter Strzok about his infidelity with an FBI lawyer because he was tired of hearing Strzok lie to Congress.
"It wasn't the infidelity so much as it was his brazen ability to lie with a straight face," Gohmert said on WMAL radio Friday. "That's what really got to me."
Gohmert said other intelligence and law enforcement officials often see their security clearances revoked if they are found to be cheating on their spouses, because it may show a willingness to lie in other areas, and because they could be blackmailed to keep their secret from getting out.
In that way, Gohmert said he was more upset about Strzok's propensity to lie that had him upset, and less upset about what he was lying about, which was the affair he had.
"Where it really got to me was when he was lying, he knew he was lying, he knew I knew he was lying, and yet he had no qualms about it," Gohmert told WMAL.

Peter Strzok says he can't recall changing Hillary Clinton exoneration statement on his computer
FBI official Peter Strzok testified Thursday that he can't recall using his work computer to soften the wording of a statement exonerating Hillary Clinton of mishandling classified information.
Strzok conceded during a joint hearing of the House Oversight and Judiciary committees that metadata indicates his computer made the change, but said he can't remember doing it.
The June 2016 edit changed "grossly negligent," a term that carries legal liability under the Espionage Act, to "extremely careless."
The new wording was uttered by then-FBI Director James Comey in July 2016 when he recommended against charging Clinton with a crime for using a private server to handle classified information while secretary of state.
Strzok, removed from special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation last year after discovery of pro-Clinton and anti-Donald Trump text messages with then-FBI attorney Lisa Page, said someone else recommended the change.
"My recollection, sir, is that somebody within our office of general counsel did, it was one of the attorneys, I don't remember which one," Strzok said. "It was a legal issue that one of the attorneys brought up."

Flash mob surprises Chick-fil-A with a capella gospel song
A group of a capella singers at a Chick-fil-A in Nashville surprised onlookers by breaking out in song last Saturday, and footage of the uplifting moment is now going viral on Facebook.
Chris Armstead, of Atlanta, told Fox 5 that the singers came from all over the world, as they were all attending a religious conference in the area when they decided to bring their talents over to the nearby restaurant.
"The first group, including the leader, began the flash mob by standing up to start the song at their table, and then the other groups stood in succession at their tables/booths to join into the song at predefined times until all 60-plus guys were singing the song," said Armstead.

Booker: ‘We Need to Stop the Bulls**t Partisanship in This Country’
Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.) on Wednesday said Americans’ economic prospects are in peril while the country continues to suffer from partisan polarization.
Partisanship, according to Booker, is stopping Americans from having an economy that grows as quickly as previous generations’ did. He did not mince words.
"Our grandparents showed us how to build a great economy. They were out training this generation of Americans, they were out investing in infrastructure this generation of Americans, they were out R&D-ing this generation of Americans," Booker said. "We need to stop the bulls—t partisanship in this country."
He said Americans should realize they have more on which to agree than disagree, and he blamed political opportunists.
"We have more common ground then we care to admit, and we’re letting political opportunists on both sides of the aisle try to undermine the truth of this nation, that the ties that bind us are so much strong then the lines that divide us," Booker said.
Booker has recently stepped up his own attacks on Republican officials, which have arguably gone beyond policy differences. He dismissed workers’ bonuses after GOP tax reform as "crumbs," opposed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s nomination because he judged him lacking in "love," and exploded on Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen over comments made by President Donald Trump—and even compared her to Nazis.

New Bill to Prevent Illegals from Stealing Americans’ Social Security Numbers
Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Thursday about his new legislation that would prevent illegal immigrants from using Americans’ Social Security numbers, protect citizens’ privacy, and deter illegal immigration.
On Wednesday, Rep. Carter introduced H.R. 6333, Tax Identity Protection Act, which would direct the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to help protect Americans from illegal immigrants from fraudulently using their Social Security numbers.
In his press release this week, the Georgia Republican said that he contacted the IRS and the agency told him that they were not “in the position to notify victims” that their Social Security numbers were used fraudulently.
The IRS “blamed it on a computer system.”

Peter Strzok: FBI Let Me Decide Which Texts I Thought Were ‘Relevant’ to Hand Over to IG
FBI agent Peter Strzok testified Thursday before the U.S. House that the Office of the Inspector General allowed him to decide which of his text messages with former FBI lawyer Lisa Page he would turn over to investigators — and which he would withhold.
The text messages are central to the question over whether the FBI was motivated by political bias in recommending against the prosecution of Hillary Clinton, and pursuing as-yet-unproven claims of Russian collusion with President Donald Trump.
In one text message, Strzok vowed to Page that the FBI would “stop” Trump from becoming president. Other text messages discussed impeaching Trump. On several occasions, Strzok disparaged Trump supporters.
Yet there may have been other texts.
Stroke admitted to House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) that he had not, in fact, turned over all of his text messages to the Inspector General, and that he had been allowed to determine which ones had “material that was relevant to FBI business”..
During the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails, it emerged that she and her attorneys had been permitted to go through the emails on her server and determine which were work-related and had to be turned over to the government after she left. They were allowed to do so, even though some of the emails contained classified materials, and her attorneys lacked the necessary security clearance to see them. The emails on Clinton’s server were subsequently destroyed, as were other devices containing the emails.

After the Annapolis shooting, the anti-gun crowd's silence is deafening
As we know, a madman stormed the Capital Gazette building in Annapolis on June 29, killing five. One would think that after any mass shooting, there would be an immediate onslaught of messaging about “access to guns,” and calls for stricter gun laws from the anti-gun crowd.
That wasn’t the case this time, though. The response was mostly silence. A silence that tells us what we can expect if gun controllers get their way, but these tragedies inevitably continue to happen: More silence.
Of course, there were some exceptions. Senate Democrats would be running to check Nancy Pelosi’s batteries if she didn’t propose a bill every time she heard someone say the word “gun,” but most people were pretty shy about gun control this time. Why? Because the anti-gun crowd isn’t about saving lives, they’re about pushing a narrative — a narrative this shooting didn’t fit.

Sporting goods store manager fired after tackling shoplifter who stole two guns
The manager of Tallahassee’s Academy Sports was fired Tuesday after tackling a suspect accused of stealing a handgun last week. The suspect also allegedly threatened to shoot people.
Dean Crouch, 32, was the store manager who stopped Jason White from leaving the Mahan Drive store with a .40-caliber pistol from the firearms counter on June 29.
“Academy has decided to, instead of treating him like the hero he is, they terminated his employment effective immediately because he put his hands on Mr. White,” Crouch's attorney Ryan Hobbs said.
Just hours before he was taken into custody, White stole two handguns from Cash America Pawn on South Adams Street, according to Tallahassee Police.

CNN Commentator: Maxine Could Be 2020 Democrat Nominee For President
“Mad Max is the only one dancing to the beat of the ‘Resistance,’ and her album is about to go platinum.”
He admitted it must seem far-fetched. In fact, John Phillips kiddingly said he may need to “blow into a breathalyzer, take a drug test and get psychologically evaluated.”
But the CNN commentator attempted to make a serious argument that “radical congresswoman” Maxine Waters could be the Democratic nominee for president in 2020, in an opinion piece published Wednesday in the Orange County Register and L.A. Daily News.

St. Ambrose University Opens Muslim Prayer Room Despite 12,500 Protests
St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, opened an Islamic prayer room on May 8, naming it in honor of the late professor of theology Fr. Joseph DeFrancisco to remember his “efforts to promote the universality of faiths” on campus.
The Islamic prayer room was proposed last fall by senior Matthew Mahoney, the president of the Student Government Association in conjunction with the Saudi Student Association.
The dedication of the Muslim prayer room was attended by St. Ambrose University president, Sister Joan Lescinski, CSJ, PhD, Islamic Center of the Quad Cities religious affairs director, Imam Saad Baig, members of the DeFrancisco family and Rev. Thomas Hennen, the campus chaplain. Speaking at the event, Sister Lescinski said, "This is a truly appropriate way to honor Fr. Joe. His openness to all members of the Quad Cities faith community was a living example of the Catholic intellectual tradition.”
However, a prayer room for Islam on a Catholic campus is a departure from tradition and contradicts what the Saints teach. Saint John Bosco, for example, states that while “Muhammad incited people’s passions; Jesus Christ commanded self-denial.” The holy educator of youth continues: “Muhammad’s doctrines are ridiculous, immoral, and corrupting; those of Jesus Christ are august, sublime, and most pure.”

'2001: A Space Odyssey' at 50
A new print of, and a new book about, an old favorite
I'm in the main auditorium at the AFI Silver in suburban Maryland when the curtains close on the big screen while the lights dim, but don't extinguish entirely. A warbling, haunting tune burbles out of the speakers: The overture for 2001: A Space Odyssey serves as both a warning to those still milling about outside the theater and a tone-setting piece of music, an unsettling jingle that signals scope of the picture we're about to see.
The curtains open, revealing the screen. We enter darkness until the projector lets there be light, the volume of the music swelling as "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" booms forth. Images begin to unspool. Seen from space, the sun rises above the Earth, our home in turn rising in front of barely visible moon dominating the field. MGM brings us this vision from Stanley Kubrick, we are informed: 2001: A Space Odyssey. An epic opening for an epoch-spanning film: from the dawn of man to the dawn of the star child, this tale of human advancement nudged along by black boxes from outer space endures as a monument to monumental filmmaking not because it's asking big questions or positing big answers, but because it just looks so damn good on the big screen.
And the big screen really is the only acceptable way to see this film. Even the best home theater cannot compare to seeing 2001 in a theater, with a professional sound system and a sparkling new 70mm print. The vistas upon which early man roams are enormous, brutal expanses; they presage the pitiless vacuum of space our astronaut heroes Dave (Keir Dullea) and Frank (Gary Lockwood) will be confronted with later. The sheer scale of the ships moving through that airless, black void gives you a sense that they are, truly, dancing to Johan Strauss's "Blue Danube Waltz."
