“The nation is crying out for leadership, but this president has nothing to offer,” claims Joe Biden — while offering none of his own.
As cities across the country see violent vandalsexploiting larger crowds of protesters outraged by the George Floyd killing, Biden is focused entirely on playing to that outrage — cluelessly.
“We need to get to work immediately on real police reform,” the ex-veep insists. In fact, a community-policing revolution has been underway for decades — Bill Bratton led it in New York, Los Angeles and again in this city, drastically reducing police use of force each time while also driving down incarceration rates. Now the extreme left has its own ideas, which boil down to no policing at all.
But Biden’s got no clue about any of it. His idea for reform? “Instead of standing there and teaching a cop when there’s an unarmed person coming at ’em with a knife or something, shoot ’em in the leg instead of the heart is a very different thing,” Biden said in a (can you believe it?) prepared speech at a church last week.
Translate the Joe-speak, and you’re still scratching your head: “Shoot to wing” is a fantasy — near-impossible even for expert marksmen, especially in a chaotic street situation. In mere seconds, you just can’t react, track a target and shoot like that.
For all his own problems with precise phrasing, President Trump is trying to address the violent lawlessness that opportunists are causing under the cover of protests. Biden shows no interest in reassuring Americans he cares about their safety.

Newt Gingrich: Democrats want to steal November election – here’s how
Make no mistake: Voter fraud is real. Democrats, the anti-Trump news media and the so-called public interest groups on the political left will tell you otherwise, but they are either lying or totally ignorant.
Voter fraud is a threat to the integrity of our elections, the heart of our democracy. Democrats want to make the problem worse with their new voting laws.
I believe this issue is incredibly important, now more than ever. So, as part of my ongoing Election 2020 podcast series, I decided to examine voter fraud in depth in this week’s episode of my podcast “Newt’s World.”
My guest is Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation and manager of the think tank’s Election Law Reform Initiative. He is one of the preeminent experts on election law and election fraud and explains how Democrats are pushing proposals that will clearly make fraud more prevalent.
Anyone who denies the existence of voter fraud in the U.S. needs to go to Heritage’s online database, where they will find 1,285 proven instances of it – including 1,110 criminal convictions.
Some of the stories are quite striking.

Man yells out 'Allahu Akbar' as he stabs and shoots NYPD officers
A man suspected of stabbing one NYPD officer and shooting two others reportedly yelled out 'Allahu Akbar' during the violent attack.
Dzenan Camovic, 20, allegedly walked up to the group of cops in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn Wednesday night and lunged a knife into one of the officer's necks.
According to officials, he then took control of that policeman's gun and shot the other two deputies in the hands.
Camovic is accused of screaming 'Allahu Akbar' three times.
The assailant was himself shot and injured by another police officer who quickly responded to the scene.
Camovic, whose family hails from Bosnia, is currently in a critical condition in hospital. Police have yet to interview him as he is intubated.

VIDEO: MASSACHUSETTS POLICE CHIEF LIES FACE DOWN AT URGING OF BLM PROTESTERS
Taking a knee not enough for the mob
A video on social media shows the head of police in Webster, Massachusetts expressing his solidarity with Black Lives Matter activists by lying face down on the ground, prompting applause from protesters – and anger on Twitter.
In the footage circulating online, Michael Shaw is seen telling a group of demonstrators that he fully supports their right to peaceful assembly and that their message against police brutality and racism has been heard “loud and clear.” While other law enforcement officials have made similar statements, he went one step further by lying face down in front of a sign reading “I can’t breathe.” Many in the crowd joined him as they shouted, “Thank you, chief!”

California Dismisses National Guard After Week-Long "Occupation"; De Blasio Plans To Shift Funds From NYPD To "Youth & Social Services"
Update (1900ET): National Guard troops will be pulled out of California cities after a week-long deployment, according to the Associated Press.
As the mayors of Chicago, Atlanta, NYC & other major cities cancel curfews, incidences of rioting have been reported in Brussels, as the protests have gone global for a third day.
"After nearly a week assisting civil authorities on the streets of California, soldiers with the California National Guard will begin transitioning back to their home armories," the Cal Guard said in a statement, though a timeline for the pullout wasn't provided.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said some troops would begin departing Sunday evening.
"A small number of units will be stationed nearby until June 10 to provide emergency support if needed," he said.
Riots spread around the world, with some incidences of violence reported in London and Brussels.
In Iran, a street in Tehran was dedicated in George Floyd's memory.

Philly News Editor Ousted After Daring To Question Legitimacy Of Burning The City's Buildings Down
Stan Wischnowski, the lead editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer, resigned on Saturday over a headline (dated June 2) titled"Buildings Matter, Too," which detailed the destructive nature of social unrest on the city's local economy over the police killing of unarmed black man George Floyd, reported The New York Times.
The headline drew immediate backlash from readers and staffers. The Inquirer issued an apology for a "horribly wrong" decision to publish the headline about looting and burning down buildings on the margins of protests. In its apology piece, The Inquirer said:
"The Philadelphia Inquirer published a headline in Tuesday's edition that was deeply offensive. We should not have printed it. We're sorry, and regret that we did. We also know that an apology on its own is not sufficient.
"The headline accompanied a story on the future of Philadelphia's buildings and civic infrastructure in the aftermath of this week's protests. The headline offensively riffed on the Black Lives Matter movement and suggested an equivalence between the loss of buildings and the lives of black Americans. That is unacceptable."
The apology also said the comparison between the destruction of private/public property and the lives of black folks was not intended.
"While no such comparison was intended, intent is ultimately irrelevant. An editor's attempt to capture a columnist's nuanced argument in a few words went horribly wrong, and the resulting hurt and anger are plain."

Operation 'Occupy White House' Enters Final Act
On any given day I vacillate between thinking The Davos Crowd is in desperation mode or believes they’ve got this and can ride the chaos unleashed to their preferred future.
And, sadly, men like Donald Trump and Boris Johnson are the ones picked to help us stop them. The White House has been a target since they lost control of it in November 2016.
Brexit has been attacked mercilessly since the June 2016 vote. The acceleration of the populist revolt against this future has, in turn, accelerated their plans to cancel national sovereignty, square the circles of projects like the European Union and activate their shock troops to openly attack the foundations of society.
We’ve all been breathlessly watching this on our iPhones for the past week.
Starting with the operation to lock people in their homes over a cold, they then denied the effectiveness of a cure which was easily found through research into SARS.
The cure was immediately politicized and marginalized by a now retracted study to radicalize people who weren’t thinking clearly.
Their hatred for Donald Trump was so all-consuming they wanted to believe the discredited Lancet Study without actually reading it or asking basic questions like why would people in power be so against a potential cure?
The social distancing, lock downs and mask-wearing short circuited people’s sanity and put them into hyper-emotional states, making them susceptible to a much more insidious virus, that of the mind.
Those who fell for this continue to defend mask-wearing even though the virus has burned out, masks only make healthy people hypoxic, and the cure for COVID-19 is cheap and effective.
Why? Because they are invested in their position emotionally, not logically.
Just like the looting and rioting over George Floyd. As I said in previous articles, no one disagrees about the death of George Floyd. There aren’t ‘Two movies here.” So what is really going on?
Bringing those two operations together into one meme we get this.'

Attorney General Bill Barr Sets CBS’s Margaret Brennan Straight Over Fake News Reports on DC Riots (VIDEO)
US Attorney General William Barr on Sunday spoke to CBS’s “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan about the ongoing George Floyd riots.
As per usual, CBS’s Margaret Brennan did her best to spread fake news and propaganda by claiming the protests have been “largely peaceful,” however, Bill Barr destroyed all of her talking points.
“A senior administration official told our CBS’s David Martin that in a meeting at the White House on Monday morning, the President demanded that 10,000 active-duty troops be ordered into American streets — Is that accurate?” Brennan asked Barr.
“No, that’s completely false. That’s completely false,” Barr replied.

The Latest Strategy To Deceive Parents
Supporters who want to keep Common Core’s failed standards in place have come up with a new twist for deceiving unhappy parents. First, they point explicitly to Common Core as a failed strategy to increase the academic achievement of low achievers in order to alert parents to what has happened.
They do what seems at first confusing because it is widely known that most parents and teachers (if they felt free to speak their minds) detest Common Core’s standards, tests, and aligned textbooks or readings. All Common Core’s failings and limitations are real. While the many articles on the decline in student achievement in a Common Core-aligned educational environment tell the truth, there is malice in the schadenfreude expressed about the many disadvantaged kids who have been deprived of the educational equity that Common Core was initially touted as creating.
The strong possibility of public deception is suggested by two phenomena. First, there has been no media clamor in reports of Common Core’s failures for stronger standards and curriculum materials.
Second, Common Core’s major supporters — the bureaucracy at the U.S. Department of Education, most if not all state departments of education (such as the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education), and the Gates Foundation — have kept their financial and political commitment to the failed strategy. Not one major foundation has advocated that Common Core’s materials and approach be replaced with more effective materials and approaches despite the failure of Common Core. Neither has any decision maker for the U.S. Department of Education. Neither has a single National Assessment of Educational Progress educator.
The problems, they and many others claim, lie with the mandated tests — and lack of federal money. Explicitly, they don’t like “standardized” tests but think “performance-based assessments” would do the trick, even though they are costly, time-consuming, and unreliable.
Strange. State commissioners and departments of education have long known that in order to get rid of Common Core-based tests and replace them with tests that are actually different they must get rid of Common Core’s standards. The problem starts with the standards, not with the tests based on the Common Core standards.
They also know that Common Core-aligned standards and textbooks are in each state’s four-year state education plan — all approved by the U.S. Department of Education bureaucracy in 2016 or 2017 — and that these Common Core-aligned standards MUST be used until 2020. That’s why the strategy of public deception is taking place this year.
Some states may seem to be changing their K-12 math and English Language Arts standards right now. But check the details.

Theaters, churches open to give protesters restrooms and a break from the heat
WASHINGTON D.C., DC — With many area businesses still closed due to COVID-19, or boarded up after looting earlier in the week, the large crowds expected downtown Saturday will have few places to take shelter from the heat or if storms roll in, and few places to go to the bathroom.
Yet protesters, like Lashae Brown and her aunt D’Nay Washington, still plan to spend the weekend downtown.
"People are losing their lives," Brown said. "We can go a little while without water. We can hold it, we don’t need to go to the restroom, we can push through."

KLAVAN: Black Americans Are Being Used as Pawns By The Leftist Elite
Of course, America is not a racist country. It is the least racist country, the only country even to attempt such a high level of multi-ethnicity with such comity and compassion. And there is approximately zero percent systemic racism here, if by systemic racism you mean barriers to advancement of a particular race built into our systems. That people dislike and distrust one another on tribal grounds is a fact of human life. That hasn’t stopped Jews, Irish, Jamaicans, Nigerians or anyone else from doing well here.
Why, then, is it a virtue to pretend? Why should I — an absolutely lovely person who has nothing but good will toward anyone who does not annoy me — apologize for anything I have not done? Indeed, I would like to declare right here and now that when you look upon my bald head, you should see, not atonement for some racial sin, but a great, big old imaginary tattoo telling antifas and Black Lives Matter they can both pound sand.
I am told that as a white man I cannot understand another sort of person’s “lived experience...”

One of the two Brooklyn lawyers accused trying to torch an NYPD cruiser in Brooklyn used a Bud Light bottle stuffed with a rag as a Molotov cocktail, according to a photo obtained Sunday by the Daily News.
Urooj Rahman, 31, was snapped in a picture holding a black and white striped scarf close to her face with one hand and the potentially fiery bottle with another as she prepared to toss it out of the passenger-side window of a van.
Rahman and Colinford Mattis, 32, a corporate lawyer and member of Community Board 5 in East New York, were charged with the attempted attack Saturday night on an empty police cruiser parked outside the 88th Precinct station house in Fort Greene.

"A Police-Free Future" - Minneapolis City Council Votes To Abolish Police Department
Update (2100ET): Here is the somewhat unbelievable statement from the Minneapolis City Council describing their "veto-proof majority" plans to create a utopian "police-free future"..
1. Decades of police reform efforts have proved that the Minneapolis Police Department cannot be reformed, and will never be accountable for its actions.
2. We are here today to begin the process of ending the Minneapolis Police Department and creating new transformative model for cultivating safety in Minneapolis.
3. We recognize that we don't have all the answers about what a police-free future looks like, but our community does. We're committing to engaging with every willing community member in the City of Minneapolis over the next year to identify what safety looks like for you.
4. We'll be taking intermediate steps towards ending the MPD through the budget process and other policy and budget decisions over the coming weeks and months.
We cannot help but wonder if this is anything like what the constituents actually wanted as an outcome of the current racial-bias protestations.
As former AR Governor Mike Huckabee noted:
"I wish I had the U-Haul franchise in Minneapolis b/c all the same people will be bugging out to a place not run by loons and I could make a fortune renting one way trucks!"
And Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw summed things up perfectly:
"This is dangerous, counterproductive, and deeply irrational. “Defund the police” is not a call from the fringes of the far

White Virginia cop is charged with assault after bodycam footage shows him repeatedly use a Taser on a black man while kneeling on his back as the victim pleads ‘I can’t breathe’ and police chief blasts the 'horrible use of force'
A white police officer in Virginia has been charged with assault after body camera footage showed him using 'unacceptable' force when using a stun gun on a disoriented black man who screamed 'I can't breathe'.
The Fairfax County Police Department on Saturday released footage of the June 5 incident, which showed Officer Tyler Timberlake using excessive force on a victim.
It is one of several recent allegations of police brutality after the death of George Floyd, an African-American man who died in police custody on May 25 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Footage begins with an unidentified Fairfax police officer interacting with a man who appears to be disoriented and pacing along a residential street.

The Truth about George Floyd, ANTIFA, CAIR & Keith Ellison's Minnesota
Here's the truth about this case they don't want you to know. The article is a work in progress & needs more citations. I will be updating it often as I learn new information. But, I think it's important to tell you what I've learned so far.
It only took the Communists 9 days to engineer Floyd's death, loot & torch Minneapolis & shut down the Minneapolis police department! They pulled another Jussie & the world fell for it.
Why? So they can build a huge corridor of new public housing & tent cities on Lake Street for absentee ballot mills to control the vote in Minnesota from Hennepin County, dismantle the police & push through cheat-by-mail for the Democrats.
CAIR, ANTIFA, Black Lives Matter, Black Bloc, the Youth Liberation Front, Occupy Wall Street & Sojourners are all front organizations for the Communist Party in the United States. They operate liberal activist groups, fake religious groups, social justice groups & mercenaries whose goal is the overthrow of America.

Nate Jackson: Are You a White Supremacist?
Here's all the racial guilt you didn't even know you had depicted in one leftist chart.
A chart circulating on social media depicts “overt white supremacy” that is “socially unacceptable” above all the various things that amount to “socially acceptable” “covert white supremacy.” The shape of the chart brings new meaning to the term “pyramid scheme.”
Clearly, everyone but actual racists would argue that lynching, burning crosses, displaying swastikas, and using the N-word are indeed unacceptable and should have no place in American society.
But that’s where the chart jumps the shark. There are more than 50 other practices, thoughts, or phrases that the “woke” folks peddling the chart say amount to prevalent and accepted white racism. A few of the things are understandably labeled as such — when they’re actually happening. Ironically, though “Make America Great Again” makes the list for white supremacy, “mass incarceration” of blacks was largely brought about by the man who wants to defeat President MAGA, Joe Biden. And Donald Trump has taken concrete steps to rectify the system.
For the most part, however, this list of skin sins is largely the pulp fiction of the Left’s alternate reality. Several of the items are so absurd we’ll admit we had to look them up just to even know what the chart maker meant. (Did anyone else know what the heck “fetishizing BIPOC” means?)
Others are the same tired cultural battles we’ve been fighting for decades. “Celebration of Columbus Day” is not white supremacy. Sports mascots are not racist. (Who names a team after something they want to degrade? Do these yahoos even watch sports?) Exceptionalism is not bigoted. Saying “we’re all one big human family” should be unifying (E pluribus unum, and all that), not evidence of some phantom prejudice.

Minneapolis City Council announce intent to disband police dept.
Can a city survive without a police force? Minneapolis is about to find out: Council votes to dismantle 'toxic' police force over mayor's objections
Minneapolis councilors have voted to abolish the city's police force in an historic move that comes after days of protests over the killing of George Floyd.
The city council voted with a veto-proof three-quarters majority to begin the process of dismantling the 'toxic' police department on Sunday - overruling the objections of 38-year-old mayor Jacob Frey.
While the exact next steps are unclear, plans put forward by community activists in past years call for:
Funds to be taken from the police department and moved into community services aimed at preventing crime
Money would instead go to mental health services, social services, jobs programs, and arts groups
Jobs such as traffic stops, overdose call-outs and mental health calls would be taken away from officers
A smaller, more-specialized force of 'public servants' would deal with solving violent crimes
County sheriffs, whose jurisdiction includes Minneapolis, could be used as a stop-gap police force

Unidentified Murderer of George Floyd
The Unidentified Murderers Strike Again
WASHINGTON, DC: The gruesome death of George Floyd who apparently died after a police officer applied knee pressure to Floyd’s neck has gone viral and, as a result, has turned American cities into a war zone. Although the video of Floyd’s death unquestionably identifies the white police officer as his murderer, author Joe David views the murder differently. He blames Floyd’s death on unidentified murderers within the educational establishment.
The Fire Within and Teacher of the Year author believes Floyd was doomed to death long before he and the police officer connected in Minneapolis. “It began in our schools years ago when politically motivated educationists took control of the schools and shifted the teaching from the classics and basic subjects (like math, literature, science and history) to inflammable study programs, intended to divide groups racially, socially and economically. What we have seen as cities are looted and set on fire, is misinformed people, attributing Floyd’s death solely to a specific police officer without examining the contributingcauses.”
David believes it is time to confront the real murderers. “As I pointed out in several of my books,” the author went on to say, “the blame for our societal problems rests with educationists. When the schools stepped away from teaching classics and basics, educationists began their move to turn the schools into slaughterhouses of children by killing healthy brain cells with an endless flow of deluded subjects and boring study programs. Those brilliant thinkers and scholars who wrestled with profundities like the meaning of Truth and Justice and Equality must be returned to the classroom. It is time we teach our children to think deeply and to understand contemporary issues objectively. Reluctance to provide them with the depth of knowledge to do this will only lead them to their grave prematurely victims of the wiser.”
If Americans want to rise up in anger against the enemy, the author of The Fire Within and Teacher of the Year stressed, they must turn their anger toward the real enemy, the American government schools. “This is the real assassin of George Floyd,” David said. “This is real culprit that is killing our great country with the blood of anarchy. It is time to reclaim the schools and focus attention on the type of learning that cultivates excellence, knowledge, and independent thinking by heralding our similarities, not our individual differences. Such an inversion, as we are seeing today, will only lead to more disharmony and more radical behavior.”
Joe David is the author of six books, numerous articles, and he is a 14-year veteran of teaching. His two novels, The Fire Within, and Teacher of the Year, bravely take on the education establishment with a critical examination of its philosophy and its methodology. www.bfat.com

It's not the response time of the police that should upset her. It's not that the store didn't lock the man inside that should upset her. She should also not be upset about the reaction of Caucasian customers who walked out without buying👍. She SHOULD be mad at Jake Day and I'll tell you why.
How many kids in Liz Day's school are growing up with a parent in prison because of a drug crime? How many children have a parent who can't get a good job or an apartment because of a drug conviction? These same children have to be subjected to their teacher, the wife of the mayor, pressuring them to buy their prescription meds. Not just pressuring them into a crime under fear they will be targeted or that their grades will suffer but also depriving them of THEIR medication prescribed by a doctor. While some of these children are suffering from their parents bad decisions Liz Day's bad decisions are just swept under the rug. It's clearly stating, "I write the rules but they don't apply to me". If it was ANYONE else they would have to put their house up to make bail. If they couldn't they would be held until they lost their job, their house, their car and then forced to go before the jury in an orange jumpsuit and shackles. Jake's kids won't have to grow up without mommy, but if the tables were turned yours would.
Barbara was out there to. Barbara who could almost run a full time bus from Salisbury mall to the police station for all the petty shoplifting arrests while her own force has been stealing from the evidence room for 20 YEARS! Again swept under the rug. The rules don't apply to us.

BREAKING: War On Police – America In SHOCK!
(Gateway Pundit) – The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement is pushing a movement to “defund the police” — the group reportedly plans to develop an armed branch of “peace officers” to patrol cities.
BLM New York chapter Chairman Hawk Newsome said the group hopes to imitate the Black Panthers Party, The Daily Mail reported.
“We prepare to stop these murders by any means necessary,” Newsome said, echoing a call to violence first uttered by Malcolm X.
“We’re talking about self-defense. We’re talking about defending our communities,” Newsome said. “You know what it’s like to see a taser pointed at a 7-year-old, you know what it’s like to see a 67-year-old black woman … pepper sprayed and pushed to the ground?”

In Connection With The Article Below
So now hopefully you've read the article below and unfortunately many of you reading it are thinking I'm cowering the the black community, not true. Let me explain.
A few years ago my Son and several of his friends rented a motor home to take to Florida for vacation. After a week of having a blast they were heading back to Maryland, all of them in shorts and tee-shirts because when they left Florida and attempted to drive straight through they were pulled over by the State Police in Virginia.
Once pulled over for a tag light that for some reason was fully lit up when they were ALL asked to exit the vehicle and now stand outside while several officers and eventually a K9 could search the vehicle because they were absolutely sure that these white kids HAD to have drugs inside.
On this freezing cold evening the young men asked if they could get jackets or anything to keep warm, the police refused. Of course the dog alerted, hence the police completely tearing apart the entire interior of this rented RV. Ultimately they found NOTHING.
PROFILING isn't just on blacks. It's on RENTAL vehicles, (just ask Sheriff Mike Lewis) and it's on ALL young men these days. The job of a Police Officer is not an easy or safe one but all too often I've spoken in depth with Officers, veteran and brand new and they talk about the training they get in the Academy, only to get on the job and each department truly throws away that training and customizes these new cops to how each department wants them to behave.
When it comes to Interstate 95, well, Mike Lewis trains those cops and special task forces and in my humble opinion PROFILING. Now he and others can deny that but that is how they nail all the drug runners traveling from Florida to New York. In my Son's case, they were flat out wrong and let me add, you never heard this story in the mainstream media, nor will you ever. It happens probably every day or very close to it. And more importantly to men of color!
There needs to be a change in attitudes specifically with Police. There's a reason PROFILING was outlawed. When a cop pulls you over, gets your ID and pulls you up on their computer they know EVERYTHING from your past and address you accordingly. Funny, we don't know the cops past. How many complaints they've had against them. Oh, that would be us profiling them, hmmmmm! We have to hire a lawyer and get their records. And doesn't the vast majority of this have to do with the money trail? Tickets, lawyers, court cost, seized property, probation fees, drug tests, interlock systems, etc.? Do we go after rapes with this kind of vengeance? Nope, no real monetary reward there, is there?
Nevertheless, these are very difficult times but don't think for a second it doesn't go both ways. We as a country need to figure out who as a specific leader can retrain these Officers on a national level and demand that each department that hires them run their departments according to a national guideline. If you think that's happening you'd be sadly mistaken.
Finally, there's a damn good reason why we're watching on television YOUNG WHITE men and women supporting these protests and yes even rioting. Open your ears to the life they are living in right here and now and only then will any of us understand their frustrations.

Borrowed: This is from Caroline Crockett Brock
I am a 45 year old white woman living in the south, and today was the first time I spoke frankly about racism with a black man.
When Ernest, my appliance repairman, came to the front door, I welcomed him in. As this was his second visit and we’d established a friendly rapport, I asked him how he was feeling in the current national climate. Naturally, he assumed I was talking about the coronavirus, because what white person actually addresses racism head on, in person, in their own home?
When Ernest realized I wanted to know about his experience with racism, he began answering my questions.
What’s it like for you on a day-to-day basis as a black man? Do cops ever give you any trouble?
The answers were illuminating.
Ernest, a middle-aged, friendly, successful business owner, gets pulled over in Myrtle Beach at least 6 times a year. He doesn’t get pulled over for traffic violations, but on the suspicion of him being a suspect in one crime or another. Mind you, he is in uniform, driving in a work van clearly marked with his business on the side. They ask him about the boxes in his car--parts and pieces of appliances. They ask to see his invoices and ask him why there is money and checks in his invoice clipboard. They ask if he’s selling drugs. These cops get angry if he asks for a badge number or pushes back in any way. Everytime he is the one who has to explain himself, although they have no real cause to question him.
Ernest used to help folks out after dark with emergencies. Not anymore. He does not work past dinnertime, not because he doesn’t need the business, but because it isn’t safe for him to be out after dark. He says “There’s nothing out there in the world for me past dark”.
Let me say that again. Ernest, a middle aged black man in uniform cannot work past dark in Myrtle Beach in 2020 because it’s not safe for him. He did not say this with any kind of agenda. It was a quiet, matter of fact truth.
A truth that needs to be heard.
When I asked Ernest what ethnic terms he gets offended at, he said that the most offensive term people use is ‘boy’. Ernest has a bachelors in electronics and an associates in HVAC. He is not a ‘boy’, and the term ‘boy’ in the south implies inferiority in station and status. He came to Myrtle Beach and got a job at Hobart. The supervisor repeatedly used the term ‘boy’. Ernest complained. After several complaints Ernest was fired.
Ernest says most white people are a little scared of him, and he’s often put in a position where he has to prove himself, as though he’s not qualified to repair appliances.
After getting a job for 2 years at Sears appliance, Ernest started his own company, one he’s been running for several years. He is the best repairman we’ve had, and has taught me about washer dryers and how to maintain them myself, even helping me with another washer/dryer set and a dishwasher without charging me. I highly recommend his company, Grand Strand Appliance.
I asked Ernest what he thought of “black bike week” in Myrtle Beach, where thousands of black people come with bullet bikes and trash our town. He says it hurts black people in our city, and he disagrees with the NAACP coming in to sue businesses that close on black bike week. He hates working that week.
Ernest doesn’t have hope that racism will change, no matter who the president is. His dad taught him “It’s a white man’s world”, and he’s done his best to live within it.
When I asked him what I could do, he said, “everyone needs to pray and realize we’re all just one country and one people”.
I am a 45 year old white woman living in the south. I can begin healing our country by talking frankly with African Americans in my world---by LISTENING to their lived experience and speaking up. I can help by actively promoting black owned businesses. That’s what I can do today. Let’s start by listening and lifting up. It’s that simple.

White cops and locals wash feet of black faith leaders at protest
White police officers and community members gathered to wash the feet of black faith leaders in North Carolina, echoing the Biblical story of how Jesus washed his disciples feet.
People of faith gathered for a unity march in Cary on Saturday, braving the summer heat to protest the brutal police killing of George Floyd and demand an end to racism.
Members of the Legacy Church Center, led by co-pastors Faith Wokoma and her husband Soboma, helped organize the unity prayer walk, where people gathered, observed eight minutes and 46 seconds of silence to mark how long a white cop had his knee on Floyd's neck in killing him, and prayed for the country.
As a part of the event there was a 'Washing of the Feet' ceremony where at least three white law enforcement officers and three other white attendees washed the feet of pastors Faith and Soboma Wokoma.
