Mister President,
The crimes of 11 September 2001 have never been judged in your country. I am writing to you as a French citizen, the first person to denounce the inconsistencies of the official version and to open the world to the debate and the search for the real perpetrators.
In a criminal court, as the jury, we have to determine whether the suspect presented to us is guilty or not, and eventually, to decide what punishment he should receive. When we suffered the events of 9/11, the Bush Junior administration told us that the guilty party was Al-Qaïda, and the punishment they should receive was the overthrow of those who had helped them – the Afghan Taliban, then the Iraqi régime of Saddam Hussein.
However, there is a weight of evidence which attests to the impossibility of this thesis. If we were members of a jury, we would have to declare objectively that the Taliban and the régime of Saddam Hussein were innocent of this crime. Of course, this alone would not enable us to name the real culprits, and we would thus be frustrated. But we could not conceive of condemning parties innocent of such a crime simply because we have not known how, or not been able, to find the guilty parties.

Radicalized Democrats: Destroying the Country and Their Own Party
From the wee hours of the morning on November 9, 2016, as they grappled with the sting of President-Elect Donald Trump triumphing over the anointed Queen of the Swamp, Democrats have been radicalizing by the minute.
Objective Americans have witnessed the transformation of JFK-style classical liberals into Marxist protégés even the namesake himself would be proud to call his pupils, not to mention the hostile takeover of the Democratic Party by the "three home-owning multi-millionaire," Bernie Sanders, and "I'm not an expert on American-Israeli policy, but let me comment on it anyway" Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The Democratic Party is soon to be more aptly referenced as the Democratic Socialist Party.
And it's not as if the Democrats don't have the resolve to combat such a monumental shift to the left. They've certainly been known to fight when something has truly mattered to them – like the times when they fought tooth and nail to unanimously oppose the 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution, giving citizenship to freed slaves and an equal right to vote for all, respectively. Or the time when they overwhelmingly opposed abolishing slavery by fighting to kill the 13th Amendment.
If Democrats really opposed the radicalization of their own party, they would fight it, but the quiet truth is that they welcome it.

AT&T Continues Layoffs of More than 16K Americans to Outsource Jobs
Multinational conglomerate AT&T is continuing layoffs of more than 16,000 American workers since 2011 to outsource those jobs to foreign countries while it rakes in record profits.
A revealing report by The Guardian‘s Michael Sainato uncovers the extent to which multinational corporations like AT&T have profited from the GOP’s tax cuts passed last year, and yet they continue to lay off Americans to send their jobs to counties like Mexico, India, and the Phillippines.
Though AT&T executives were heralded for giving their workers $1,000 bonuses after the tax cuts were passed by the Republican-controlled Congress and signed into law by President Trump, Americans keep losing their jobs to outsourcing.

Report: ‘FBI Tried, Failed To Recruit Russian Oligarchs’ For Collusion Narrative
Bureau was desperate to create Russian collusion story against Trump
FBI agents tried to turn Russia’s once-richest man into a US mole, according to an explosive NYT report. It claims that Oleg Deripaska was one of six oligarchs targeted for information in a Russiagate-related intelligence flop.
According to reports by the New York Times, the US government pushed oligarchs with perceived links to President Vladimir Putin for information. Deripaska was allegedly nudged to give up information on Russian organized crime and “possible Russian aid to President Trump’s 2016 campaign.”
Determined to get something on the Kremlin’s unproven involvement in the 2016 election, FBI agents reportedly turned up unannounced at Deripaska’s New York home to quiz him about his ex-business partner Paul Manafort – who went on to lead Trump’s election campaign – and Manafort’s links to Russia.

Texas Doctors Say They Saw Kavanaugh Protesters Being Paid Off Before Hearing
Three doctors said they personally witnessed protesters being paid off before the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearing, which was disrupted by unruly demonstrators.
A total of 70 people were arrested during the hearing after many of them began screeching incoherently in an effort to derail the event.
Activist Adam Schindler interviewed three doctors from Texas who suggested that the entire protest was far from organic.
“One thing was there were people who had come along… who had a bag of money, and people would hand them a piece of paper, and then they would give them money. So we know money was exchanged for some of the people to be here, just to protest,” said Dr. Tom Schlueter.
“The most telling thing was listening to them giving names and addresses, so when they were arrested, they were keeping a record and celebrating who got arrested, without any regard for any open discussion or even the possibility of being convinced of anything, it was just for the purpose of disruption and to have some kind of disruption of the process,” said Dr. Morton Purvis.

Does Mueller Have an October Surprise?
The investigation that was ostensibly initiated to ascertain if the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to affect the 2016 election has been ongoing for twenty-seven months. Seventeen months of which have been in the hands of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his Democrat phalanx of investigators and prosecutors spending in excess of $1.4 million a month.) This prolonged inquisition has produced no evidence or indictments supporting the collusion allegation. Yet the investigation marches on with no end in sight.
But is there, in fact, an end game? Is that end game waiting until late October to impact an election in order to switch control of Congress to the Democrats? Is it to make certain Trump cannot run for re-election in 2020? Or is it both?
The upcoming mid-term election is perhaps the most consequential since 1932 when the Democrats won 97 House and 12 Senate seats, setting in motion the big-government agenda of Franklin D. Roosevelt as well as nearly 62 years of Democrat dominance of Congress. Were the current iteration of the Democratic Party to regain control of Congress, the impeachment of Donald Trump would be inevitable. Further, there would be a cessation, perhaps permanently, of any effort to undo the damage inflicted on the nation by Barack Obama and todays unabashedly socialist Democratic Party now steeped in cultural Marxism.
In 1992 a special prosecutor also investigating alleged collusion with a foreign nation by another presidential administration took it upon himself to deliberately impact an election in the last week of a campaign thus assuring the election of Bill Clinton.
The so-called scandal was the Iran-Contra Affair and the President originally in the cross-hairs was Ronald Reagan. The charge: the Reagan Administration colluded with Israel and Iran to sell arms to Iran in an effort to obtain the release of American hostages and divert the proceeds to fund an insurgency in communist Nicaragua in an alleged violation of an arcane amendment to a spending bill. The unwritten objective in the investigation was to permanently damage Reagan’s popularity and legacy as well as undermine his potential Republican successor in the election of 1988.

Civil war looms for Democrats after left-wing upsets: 'This is just the beginning'
Ayanna Pressley cruised to victory in Massachusetts in a stunning primary victory Tuesday, ousting a 10-term House incumbent while promising voters she would abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement, create government-run health care and enact free college tuition.
Liberal activists said that platform helped energize voters, giving her a 17-point margin of victory over Rep. Michael Capuano, the second longtime Democratic lawmaker to fall in a primary this year to a more liberal candidate.
It’s also vastly different than the platform Democratic leaders are selling.
The competing agendas could become a problem should the party win control of the House in November, leaving liberal activists salivating over a list of left-wing priorities that party leaders haven’t agreed to.

South Africa 'unexpectedly' slides into recession as agricultural production plummets in wake of plans to seize white-owned farmland
Gee, who could have possibly anticipated that threatening to steal (that is, expropriate without compensation) land from farmers who have worked it for generations would cause farmers to cut back on planting, cultivating, harvesting, or shipping crops? Thus, we have Bloomberg telling us, "South Africa's economy unexpectedly shrank for the second consecutive quarter in the three months through June."
The recession, based on a second-quarter decline in GDP of 0.8%, is entirely due to a steep decline in agricultural production: "the agriculture market fell back by 29.2 per cent, taking 0.8 per cent off GDP."
This was entirely predictable. Half a year ago, I warned that with expropriation of white farmers, South Africa is embarking on a course headed toward disaster:
The former Rhodesia turned itself from the breadbasket of Africa, a major exporter of staple grains, into a country on the perpetual verge of mass starvation by expropriating and often murdering white farmers and giving land to cronies of President Mugabe, who were not capable of stewardship. The same thing happened to other elements of the economy as well, all based in getting even for racial grievances of the past.
Venetia Joubert Sarah Oosterveld photographed the results of Zimbabwe's land reform and descent into socialism and wrote in 2009:

"Absolutely Killed": Trump Throws Flag At NFL And Nike For Lack Of Patriotism, Supporting Kaepernick
President Trump has weighed in for a second time on the NFL's decision to support Nike's endorsement of Colin Kaepernick, tweeting on Wednesday: "Just like the NFL, whose ratings have gone WAY DOWN, Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts. I wonder if they had any idea that it would be this way? As far as the NFL is concerned, I just find it hard to watch, and always will, until they stand for the FLAG!"
Nike: The Social Justice Slave Labor Shoe That Hates America
Nike’s new romance with an anti-American activis
It’s a bad time for bad sneakers.
Nike sales have seen their slowest growth in seven years. It was the worst performing Dow stock of 2016. Americans don’t seem to want badly made overpriced shoes put together by slave labor.
The failing company tried to turn around its poor sales by doubling down on its abrasive lefty politics. Nike’s Consumer Direct Offense was supposed to stand for reclaiming American market share, instead of directly offending consumers. But if Nike can’t sell its shoddy athletic wear, it can offend Americans.

Maryland Fishing Report
Labor Day weekend is a fleeting memory now and although we are under an intense heat wave cooler weather is anticipated as we move through September.
There is still plenty daylight at the end of the day to spend some time in the outdoors with family and friends.
Children love adventure and when Vincent Casagrande of Frederick went crabbing for the first time with his grandfather in the South River, it was a time he’ll never forget. They managed to catch a bushel using collapsible crab traps. Vincent even got to drive the boat under grandad’s supervision.
You can read their story and others in the Angler’s Log.

Forecast Summary: Sept. 5-11
While we are now in September with “Rocktober” just around the corner, the fishing pattern this week is stuck in mid-July. Bay anglers will need plenty of sunscreen and water over the next few days as a result of very hot, sunny, calm weather conditions. After Thursday, a new weather system will roll through with slightly cooler temperatures and more chance for rain.
For now, the pattern of fishing is to continue to seek the best combination of clear, cool, oxygenated waters. This means fishing deeper during the day or early in the morning during moving water in the shallows when surface water temperatures can be about 3 degrees cooler. Very warm water dominates with the coolest water at the top of Chesapeake Bay and increasing down to the Maryland-Virginia line. At the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration buoys daytime water temperatures are warm with Annapolis at 87, Gooses at 88 and Point Lookout at 89 degrees. Expect surface water temperatures to stay very warm all week.
Monitoring data show adequate oxygen from surface down to about 16-20 feet at Swan Point down to the Bay Bridge, 23 feet at Bloody Point, and from the mouth of the Choptank down to the state line, over 30 feet.
Upper bay water clarity is still reduced from the elevated river flows from the Susquehanna down to Swan Point. In addition, algal blooms are beginning to appear along the western shore from Chesapeake Beach to the mouth of the Potomac.
There will be above average tidal currents all week as a result of the new moon Sept. 10.

Upper Chesapeake Bay
The Conowingo Dam is currently releasing water for power generation during the day with waters down river showing signs of clearing. The Gunpowder and Bush will see stained conditions from recent heavy rains adding to conditions in the upper bay. Chummingand live lining spot continue to be the most popular ways to fish for striped bass this week along channel edges. Swan, Love and Podickory points are good places to check at about 20 feet.Chumming is always a mainstay but live lining spot will often put you on larger fish. Smaller striped bass tend to swarm chum slicks and channel catfish will move into areas where the chum drifts to the bottom.
Spot can be found on hard bottom in the mouth of the Chester and Magothy rivers in about 15 feet of water. The west side of the Bay Bridge has also been a good place to find spot in about 10 to 15 feet of water. Pieces of bloodworm on a simple bottom rig with a No. 4 hook will do the trick and something as simple as a plastic garbage can will serve as a live well in a pinch. White perch can also be a welcomed part of the bottom fishing mix.
The Bay Bridge piers and rock piles, as well as the sewer pipe are holding striped bass this week in about 20 feet of water. Boats have been anchoring up current of the bridge piers near the 25-foot depth curve and drifting live spot back to the bridge piers. Jigging and live lining spot near the rock piles has also been popular.

NYT Publishes Anonymous Op-Ed By Saboteur Inside Trump White House
A senior White House official has published an anonymous op-ed in the New York Times titled: I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration (I work for the president but like-minded colleagues and I have vowed to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.).
The Times prefaces the piece with this disclaimer:
The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure. We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers. We invite you to submit a question about the essay or our vetting process here.

I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration
President Trump is facing a test to his presidency unlike any faced by a modern American leader.
It’s not just that the special counsel looms large. Or that the country is bitterly divided over Mr. Trump’s leadership. Or even that his party might well lose the House to an opposition hellbent on his downfall.
The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.
I would know. I am one of them.
To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.
But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.

Is the Queer Reckoning upon Us?
Over the last ten years, the LGBT movement created a brotherhood out of its victims. I have gotten to know countless people who lost their jobs, families, public reputation, homes, or incomes because they chose to defend God's design for sexuality rather than submit to the LGBT movement's demands.
Our travails pale beside the martyrs in the Middle East and Africa who have lost their lives to stand up for Christ. We have nonetheless paid a painful price. The words of Revelation 6:10 felt, for many of us, like words out of our own hearts:
They cried out with a loud voice: "Lord, the One who is holy and true, how long until You judge and avenge our blood from those who love on the earth?" So a white robe was given to each of them, and they were told to rest a little while longer until the number would be completed of their fellow slaves and their brothers who were going to be killed just as they had been.

Pocomoke River State Park Expands by 212 Acres
The Board of Public Works today approved theMaryland Department of Natural Resourcesacquisition of 212 acres along the Pocomoke River as an expansion to Pocomoke River State Park. The former golf course will be repurposed to provide access to the Pocomoke River Water Trail as well as additional recreation opportunities.
“This acquisition will benefit Pocomoke River State Park as well as the Lower Eastern Shore watershed,” Maryland Natural Resources Secretary Mark Belton said. “By utilizing Program Open Space we can enhance and expand our state park, providing even greater public access and recreation, while shoring up the rivers now and into the future.”
Portions of the Worcester County property will be allowed to reforest to protect the water quality of Corbin Branch as well as the Pocomoke River. Areas along the shoreline, which include coastal forests and marshes, may provide some natural resilience to climate and weather changes, be it erosion or flooding, by absorbing excess water, dampening currents and waves and stabilizing sediment.
“For more than 50 years, people have known Pocomoke River State Park is a special place,” Park Manager Cineva Smith said. “This expansion will protect our unique ecological treasures for future generations to enjoy.”
The property, located in a Target Ecological Area, scored a 90 on the department’s scoring system, which is based on a 0-100 scale.

The Supreme Court's days as a super-legislature are over, and Democrats aren't happy about it
On Day Two of Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings, a number of Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee appeared to be sizing themselves up for black judicial robes.
If they weren’t doing that, they were lamenting the fact that someone of their own great wisdom couldn’t sit on the Supreme Court — the highest legislature in the land, they seem to think — and rule the country from their lifetime position.
Democrats placed themselves one after another into Kavanaugh’s seat on the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals to second-guess rulings, which is only natural for those who think the courts are there to make policy decisions. Ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., complained that Kavanaugh had, in an opinion on D.C. gun control laws, deemed that semi-automatic rifles are in “common use” and thus not, under Supreme Court definition, something the D.C. government could ban. Feinstein was weirdly outraged about this characterization, given that private citizens in the U.S. own something on the order of 50 or 60 million such rifles, and possibly more.

AT&T and DirecTV face thousands of complaints linked to overcharging, promotions
Publishers Notes: This is a very interesting article. If you're an AT&T customer dealing with Dish TV you know exactly what this article is talking about. We have experienced the most incredible situation with them at one of my properties and frankly we are getting ready to cancel them completely. Our rates fluctuate by the month. We pay directly through a credit card, they ignore the payment and then send up a bill for late fees in the hundreds of dollars. They fight you to no end claiming it is our fault, yet they admit they have our direct payment in their records. You spend hours fighting them, taking names and notes only to get another bill the next month where they completely lied and the fees keep piling up. Have you had the same problem?
"Every month you open up your envelope and you go, 'OK, what's the surprise this month?'"
"As I am talking to them, I get on the internet and I look at the special," Raia told CBS News. "Their special is $99.99 and I say, 'can you just look at the internet?'"
Months later, he was still paying a lot more.
"That tells me that they're cheating people," he said.
In an AT&T commercial a voiceover can be heard advertising: The bundle price you sign up for is guaranteed to stay the same price for two years.

Federal Employees Have Higher Pay, More Job Security Than Private Sector
President Trump has proposed a one-year pay freeze for federal bureaucrats, which has reinvigorated the debate over whether compensation levels for the civil service are too lavish.
The Washington Post opines this is nothing but “government bashing,” but this chart from my former colleague Chris Edwards should be more than enough evidence to show that federal bureaucrats have a big advantage over workers in the economy’s productive sector.
And there is plenty of additional evidence that federal employment is very attractive. For instance, it’s just about impossible to get fired from a bureaucracy.
Though defenders of the civil service sometimes make the preposterous claim that nobody gets fired because bureaucrats are such good employees.
The low rate at which federal employees are fired for poor performance doesn’t prove the government accepts it but instead “could actually be a positive sign,”… A report from the Merit Systems Protection Board in effect responds to members of Congress and others who contend that federal managers don’t care, or don’t dare, to take disciplinary action because of civil service protections. “…If the agency is successful in preventing poor performance…, a small number of performance-based removals could actually be a positive sign,” MSPB said. …Of the 2.1 million federal employees in a government database…, about 10,000 are fired for either poor performance or misconduct each year. …That low rate of firing has been cited in proposals to force agencies to take action… Individual employees, too, commonly express dissatisfaction with how agencies handle poor performers among their co-workers.
I have to confess that my jaw dropped when I read this article. Maybe we should ask veterans whether they think all federal bureaucrats do a good job?
Or we can ask non-profit groups whether they think IRS bureaucrats are top-quality workers? Or ask anyone who has ever tried to navigate the federal government?

Feinstein Admits Coordinating with Anti-Trump Parkland Dad
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) revealed Tuesday evening Parkland father Fred Guttenberg, who attempted to shake Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s hand during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, was invited by her.
“I invited @Fred_Guttenberg to sit in the audience at today’s hearing because the Supreme Court affects the lives of real people,” Feinstein wrote on Twitter “He knows firsthand how Brett Kavanaugh’s extreme views on guns could lead to more massacres. Thank you Fred, for honoring your daughter.”
Guttenberg attempted to shake Kavanaugh’s hand after committee members took a recess around noon. Shortly after the incident, Guttenberg claimed in a tweet that Kavanaugh “turned his back to me and walked away,” suggesting he didn’t shake his hand because the Judge “did not want to deal with the reality of gun violence.”

Dems' Kavanaugh hearing disruptions carefully staged by Schumer, lieutenants
The chaotic start to Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing was coordinated from the top by Democrat senators who wanted to stall the Supreme Court nomination process amid complaints about access to documents.
Kavanaugh returns before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday for the start of formal questioning. He has delivered only his opening statement so far, vowing Tuesday to be a “neutral and impartial arbiter” after enduring a morning and afternoon of blistering statements from Democrats warning about the implications of his potential confirmation. Many of those Democrats repeatedly tried to object, delay and even adjourn the hearing amid requests for more documents and more time to review the files they had.
Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., seemed to acknowledge the show was coordinated when asked by GOP Sen. Thom Tillis during Tuesday’s hearing to respond to reports that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., led a phone call over the holiday weekend discussing protest plans.
Durbin said “there was a phone conference yesterday,” where “many issues were raised.”
Younger Democrats, such as California Sen. Kamala Harris, hijacked Tuesday’s hearing almost as soon as it started and urged the committee to delay the hearing amid protests by liberal activists, some of whom were arrested.

A Maryland crab restaurant has responded to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) recent “go vegan” billboard by putting up one of its own.
Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore, Md., has erected its own billboard, reading: “SteaMEd crabs. Here to stay. Get famous.”
The capitalized “ME” references billboards put up by PETA near several Baltimore seafood restaurants, telling Maryland residents “I’m ME, Not MEAT. See the individual. Go vegan," next to a picture of a blue crab.

Iran Touts Collaboration With Soros
Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said the Islamic Republic has had a long and successful working relationship with the Open Society Foundations, a massive philanthropic organization run by liberal billionaire George Soros.
"Zarif claimed that the Open Society Foundation was legally operational inside Iran … with significant collaborations with city councils and other organizations," according to a translation of recent remarks by Zarif performed by Iran Gateway.
Zarif went on to claim "he made sure these meetings with Iranians were under strict rules and scrutiny, lest it jeopardizes national security," according to the translation of remarks before Iran's Parliment.

Former Congressman: "The Deep State Is Real..& They Don't Like Trump's Disruption"
In his new book titled “The Deep State: How an army of bureaucrats protected Barack Obama and is working to destroy Donald Trump,”Jason Chaffetz alleges that the deep state is very real.
His book, which is set to be published on September 18, details the lengths the intelligence community is going to in an attempt to undermine Trump.
“The Deep State is real,” Chaffetz wrote, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
“They don’t like exposure, accountability or responsibility. They fight back, outlast and work the system for their advantage. And they certainly don’t like disruptive forces such as Donald Trump.”
Of course, this flies in the face of 'lying' former FBI Director James Comey, who exclaimed in May that:
“There is no deep state, but there’s a deep culture and commitment to the rule of law that runs all the way down through not just the Department of Justice and the FBI but the military services and the intelligence community. It would be interesting to see what would happen next,”
Chaffetz, a former congressman from Utah, resigned from Congress in June 2017. At the time, that was about six months into Trump’s presidency. Chaffetz then decided to take a job as a political analyst for the FOX News Channel and the FOX Business Network, according to USA Today.
Chaffetz says that the devastating Benghazi incident is what uncovered a larger problem in the corrupt government.

Airport security trays carry more viruses than TOILETS
The plastic trays that passengers put their hand luggage in at security checkpoints have the highest numbers of viruses of anywhere in an airport, including toilets, new research suggests.
Such trays are covered in pathogens that can cause everything from the common cold and flu to pneumonia, bladder infections, SARS and even brain damage, according to the first study of its kind.
Plastic trays are thought to carry high numbers of viruses due to them being rapidly reused, as well as being touched by every single passenger that passes through an airport.
Such trays are also rarely disinfected, with their hard surfaces allowing viruses to survive for up to a day.
Air travel was blamed for the rapid spread of SARS from Hong Kong to North and South America, Europe and throughout Asia in 2003, as well as the flu epidemic that went from Mexico to the US in 2009.

Xanax Use Among Teens Skyrockets As Benzos Overtake Opioids
Despite overall prescription drug addiction abuse dropping dramatically among adolescents over the past 15 years, addiction treatment centers across the country are seeing a surge in the number of young people hooked on Xanax, according to Pew.
addiction practitioners say they’re seeing a surge in the number of young patients who are hooked on Xanax. Many take high daily doses of the drug, sometimes in deadly combination with opioids and alcohol. -Pew
This increase has yet to be reflected in national data, which doesn't surprise Boston Children's Hospital head of adolescent addition, Sharon Leavy - who says that addition treatment centers are "the tip of the spear," and she is "not surprised that the spike in Xanax use isn’t reflected in national data yet."
Addiction specialists say they're expecting an "onslaught of teens addicted to Xanax and other sedatives," according to Pew - one of many anti-anxiety drugs known as benzodiazepines, or "benzos."
“Adolescent benzo use has skyrocketed,” Levy said, “and more kids are being admitted to hospitals for benzo withdrawal because the seizures are so dangerous.” At the same time, she said, far fewer kids are seeking treatment for prescription opioid addiction.
“When I ask them if they’re using opioids, they say, ‘No. I wouldn’t touch the stuff.’”

Delaware Sen. Tom Carper beats back Dem primary challenge from the Left
Democrat Tom Carper survived the first real primary challenge of his 17-year career representing Delaware in the Senate, beating progressive Kerri Evelyn Harris Thursday night.
Carper’s victory comes after a contentious primary that received increasing national attention in its final weeks as progressives, emboldened by wins in Florida and New York primaries, held out hope that Harris could come from behind. But he won by nearly 30 points.
Running on a platform of "Medicare for All" and debt-free college, Harris, 38, attacked Carper for his centrist, business-friendly ways. Carper, 71, lamented the impact Harris could have on Delaware and the Democratic Party writ large if she defeated him, arguing that the space for centrists would shrink in Congress.

Hillary Clinton Goes On A TEAR Against Kavanaugh. Twitter DESTROYS Her.
Hillary Clinton is in the midst of a Twitter meltdown over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, taking charge of the "resistance" (remember, she's their self-declared leader) and marshaling opposition to the president's nominee around "women's rights" and "reproductive rights" issues.
She started bright and early at just after 8 a.m. EST, perhaps after having her morning cup of highly caffeinated coffee, and just went from there, laying out the parameters of a Kavanaugh-created post-apocalyptic hellscape where women are forced to serve as Handmaids because they have to pay for their own birth control. Or something.

Two Priests caught having sex in car near Miami Beach playground
Two Catholic priests were taken into custody after being caught performing sex acts on each other in a parked rental car near Miami Beach, according to reports.
Diego Berrio, 39, and Edwin Giraldo Cortez, 30, were charged with lewd and lascivious behavior after passersby spotted their tryst in broad daylight inside a Volkswagen Beetle, which was “in full view of the public,” according to CBS Miami.
After receiving a complaint, police arrived at the scene to see the sexual acts still going on. The officers were easily able to spot the two, as the car was parked next to a playground and did not have tinted windows.
The two priests were so engaged that they didn’t notice when police were there until officers tapped on the window, according to CBS.

Manokin River Selected for Large-Scale Oyster Restoration
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources today announced its intention to recommend the Manokin River in Somerset County as the fifth and final tributary for large-scale oyster restoration as per Maryland’s commitment to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement.
The recommendation will be sent to federal partners, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before a management plan is finalized and restoration work can commence.
This recommendation follows the surveying of Breton Bay in St. Mary’s County – thedepartment’s initial restoration recommendation in December 2017 – which found no live oysters, no dead oysters and very little remaining oyster beds or shells among the tributary’s muddy and sandy bottom. Poor dissolved oxygen levels and lack of suitable bottom were also factors in recommending the Manokin.
“Following an in-depth review and scientific study of Breton Bay, the department had to shift its focus to another tributary that would fulfill the state’s commitment to large-scale oyster restoration,” Maryland Natural Resources Secretary Mark Belton said. “We believe that the Manokin River – an area situated to provide for natural, robust and self-sustaining oyster recruitment and reproduction – provides the best possible site for large-scale restoration success.”

Sasse Provides Civics Lesson During Kavanaugh Hearing
In the midst of a Democrat-created circus intent on obstructing as much of the Senate’s confirmation hearings for President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, as possible, Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) offered a timely rebuke and an insightful civics lesson.
In just under 12 minutes, Sasse outlined the constitutional roles of the three branches of government and followed that by explaining why the confirmation of judicial nominees has become so politicized — something the Founders never intended. Sasse diagnoses the root of the problem as the legislative branch having abdicated its constitutional power to career-minded, unelected bureaucrats within the executive branch agencies:
The real reason, at the end of the day, that this institution punts most of its power to executive branch agencies is because it is a convenient way for legislators to be able to avoid taking responsibility for controversial and often unpopular decisions. If people want to get reelected over and over and over again, and that’s your highest goal — if your biggest long-term thought around here is about your own incumbency — then actually giving away your power is a pretty good strategy. … And so, at the end of the day, a lot of the power delegation that happens from this branch is because the Congress has decided to self-neuter.
Sasse then eloquently noted how this abdication of power by Congress has ultimately undermined the voting power of every American citizen:

Obstruction of Justice: The Demo Kavanaugh Blockade
Dick Durbin (D-IL): "Why [are these protests] happening for the first time in the history of this committee? ... You are the nominee of President Donald John Trump."
Last week, the left-leaning (to put it kindly) American Bar Association awarded Brett Kavanaugh its highest endorsement, a unanimous “Well-Qualified” rating. According to ABA guidelines, “The rating of ‘Well Qualified’ is reserved for those found to merit the Committee’s strongest affirmative endorsement.”
This endorsement used to be the gold standard for Democrats considering Republican judicial appointments. So what’s the holdup on Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States?
Well, four reasons: 1) the election of Donald Trump; 2) the resulting epidemic of Trump Derangement Syndrome; 3) pandering and political theater, Democrat Party style; and, finally, 4) a deep sense of remorse by Democrats that they killed the filibuster for judicial nominations in 2013 to clear the way for a slew of Barack Obama’s far-left nominees.
Democrats have set about to make as much trouble for Trump as possible in their relentless effort to de-legitimize his election. This hyper-partisan dialogue has devolved into very uncivil discourse, even in the once-august Senate chamber, which has lately become a proving ground for leftist ideologues positioning themselves for a 2020 presidential run.
What became of Senate civility? Same four points outlined above.
Let’s briefly review the context for the current Senate SCOTUS deliberations.

Liberal Groups Blast Schumer's Handling of Kavanaugh Nomination
Thirteen liberal groups have signed a letter criticizing Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s handling of the Brett Kavanaugh nomination to the Supreme Court, Politico is reporting.
The letter was delivered to Schumer, D-N.Y., on Wednesday, according to the website.
“Your job as Senate Democrat leader is to lead your caucus in complete opposition to (President Donald) Trump’s attempted Supreme Court takeover and to defend everyone threatened by a Trump Supreme Court,” the letter reads. “But unbelievably, nearly two dozen Democrats have still not come out against Kavanaugh. . . That is not the leadership we need.”
In the letter, they say “the Democrat Party’s progressive base expects nothing less than all-out resistance to Trump’s dangerous agenda.”

Obama Threatens To Cancel Taxpayer-Funded Speech In Denmark If His Contract Is Released To The Public
Representatives for Barack Obama have threatened to cancel the former president’s upcoming paid speech at a Denmark university if details of his speaking contract are released to the public.
Obama will participate in a moderated question and answer session on Sept. 28 at the University of Southern Denmark before local business leaders, university students and local dignitaries, according to Business Kolding, the event’s organizer.
But the event has already sparked criticism from citizens of Denmark’s Kolding Municipality, which is providing 750,000 kroner, or $117,000, in taxpayer funds to support the behind-closed-doors event titled “A Conversation with President Barack Obama.”
Kolding currently faces a deficit of 100 million kroner in its next year’s budget. The town’s mayor, Jørn Pedersen, justified using taxpayer dollars to fund Obama’s invite-only talk, claiming the event is effectively a marketing opportunity for the town, according to Danish news outlet JydskeVestkysten.

Christian Pastor Ramin Parsa, an Ex-Muslim Refugee From Iran, Was Arrested and Abused For Sharing His Faith in the Mall of America
Late last month, Ramin Parsa, a Christian pastor who fled Iran as a religious refugee, was arrested for privately sharing his faith testimony in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. He fled persecution in Iran and Turkey, only to find persecution in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
"I came to the U.S. as a political and religious — as a Christian — refugee. They oppressed me for my faith in Iran. I was stabbed in Iran," Parsa told PJ Media in an interview on Tuesday. Then last week, he was arrested for a private conversation about his faith, handcuffed to a metal chair for four hours without water, and later charged with trespassing.
"These things might happen in other countries, oppressive dictatorships, but not in America," the pastor said.
Parsa, a pastor at Redemptive Love Ministries International in Los Angeles, Calif., traveled to Minnesota for two days to visit two different churches. He went to the Mall of America (MOA) on Saturday, August 25, with an elder from one of the churches, and with the elder's 14-year-old son. Shortly after entering the mall, he struck up a conversation with two Somali-American women.

Inside The Daily Caller's Exclusive Interview With President Trump
The Daily Caller's Vince Coglianese and Saagar Enjeti sat down with President Donald Trump for an exclusive interview in the Oval Office of The White House on Tuesday during which they discussed a variety of topics concerning the administration. You can find excerpts from the wide-ranging interview below.
**All must be attributed to The Daily Caller**
On social media companies interfering in the 2016 and 2018 elections:
“I think they already have,” Trump said of social media companies' interference in the 2018 presidential election. The president pivoted to 2016 saying “I mean the true interference in the last election was that — if you look at all, virtually all of those companies are super liberal companies in favor of Hillary Clinton.”
On declassifying documents relating to a FISA warrant obtained on Carter Page:
“Well, we’re looking at it very seriously right now because the things that have gone on are so bad," Trump said. “I mean, they were surveilling my campaign. If that happened on the other foot, they would’ve considered that treasonous. They would’ve considered it spying at the highest level."
On questioning the United States' defense pacts with other countries:
“We’re protecting immensely wealthy countries and they’re not paying us for the protections. I say why are we protecting you when you’re very wealthy and you wouldn’t be here for two weeks if it wasn’t for us? Why aren’t we being reimbursed for this massive cost? Fully reimbursed – for this massive cost that we’re taking care of,” Trump said.
On the sex abuse scandal surrounding the Catholic Church:
“It’s so sad to watch,” Trump said, lamenting “the numbers, the length of time, you know, going back 70 years, I think it’s having a really negative impact on the Catholic Church…To me it’s one of the sadder stories ’cause I respect so much the Catholic Church. And to me it’s a very sad story.”
On Special Counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing "illegal investigation":
“I view it as an illegal investigation. It should have never been started. It should have never been allowed to start. You know, I’m not a target of this investigation, just in case you don’t realize," President Trump began.
On Chuck Todd declaring that journalists need to fight back against Trump:
“He’s sleepy eyes Chuck Todd, he covers me very dishonestly, I mean you watch his show, it’s like he gets angry at people if they say I’ve done a good job. And they won’t appear on the show again,” Trump responded.
On the anti-Kavanaugh protestors disrupting Tuesday's hearing:

On the anti-Kavanaugh protestors disrupting Tuesday's hearing:
“To allow somebody to stand up and scream from the top of their lungs — and nobody does anything about it — is, frankly … I think it is an embarrassment," President Trump said.
On Bob Woodward's new book "Fear: Trump In The White House":
“It’s just another bad book. He’s had a lot of credibility problems,” Trump declared, adding, “I probably would have preferred to speak to him, but maybe not. I think it probably wouldn’t have made a difference in the book. He wanted to write the book a certain way.”
On how President Trump chooses who to endorse:
“It’s very much my gut instinct coupled with a lot of talented people that I have that know where these people have come from over the last two years,” Trump said, adding, “sometimes I’ll have a nasty Never-Trumper and every once in a while it’s recoverable but generally speaking if somebody is that much opposed … Now if somebody is opposed that’s one thing, if they’re that much opposed to a tune of coming up with the Never-Trumper type stigma it’s rare that I’ll get involved.”
On Nike's decision to make Colin Kaepernick the face of its new "Just Do It" campaign:
“As much as I disagree with the Colin Kaepernick endorsement, in another way — I mean, I wouldn’t have done it,” Trump said. “In another way, it is what this country is all about, that you have certain freedoms to do things that other people think you shouldn’t do, but I personally am on a different side of it.”
On the new Neil Armstrong movie "First Man" omitting the American flag:
“It’s unfortunate,” Trump said when asked about the decision, adding “it’s almost like they’re embarrassed at the achievement coming from America, I think it’s a terrible thing.” The president continued, “when you think of Neil Armstrong and when you think of the landing on the moon, you think about the American flag.”
On the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape and NBC's handling of the Harvey Weinstein story:
“I had a lawsuit prepared, a lawsuit that was prepared to be filed against NBC because they leaked that tape,” the president revealed. “I had a lawyer hired to bring a suit right after the election ended, but one problem arose. I won the election.”
The Most Compelling Case For Kavanaugh Made By Hillary, Obama Supporter
Self-described “liberal, feminist lawyer” Lisa Blatt, who voted for Hillary Clinton and is an advocate of Roe v. Wade, sat before the Senate Judiciary Tuesday and gave a more powerful and full-throated endorsement of Brett Kavanaugh than anyone else the entire day.
Lisa Blatt — an attorney and Supreme Court veteran who has argued cases before the court more than any other woman, winning 32 of 35 cases — fully endorsed the Trump nominee, even though she has filed cases against the Trump administration.
In her surprising remarks, Blatt introduced herself as “a liberal Democrat and an unapologetic defender of a woman’s right to choose” and called liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg her “hero,” and said she voted for Hillary and Obama.
“I’m here today to introduce Judge Kavanaugh and urge the Senate to confirm him as a next associate justice of the Supreme Court,” Blatt said after the previewing of her liberal credentials, saying she received hate from her own party for supporting Trump’s pick. “Judge Kavanaugh is clearly qualified to serve on the Supreme Court.”

The Democrats’ Senate Sh*t Show
On today’s Daily Daily Caller Podcast, we call out the Democrats for what they created Tuesday at the confirmation hearing for Judge Brett Kavanaugh in the Senate — a complete s*!t show.
Listen to the show:
It took just seven seconds for Democrats to start throwing a temper tantrum at the hearing, with California liberal Kamala Harris complaining they didn’t have enough time to review Kavanaugh’s documents, even though they have large committee and personal staffs that could have easily sifted through them in time.
One after the other, Democrats insisted the hearing be postponed so they could study the documents from a man they’ve all already publicly stated they are going to vote against. It was a Hell of a show for the cameras.

Coca-Cola Buys Moxie
Coca-Cola is acquiring strong-tasting Moxie, a New England regional tonic long associated with Maine.
The soda giant announced that it is acquiring Moxie from Coca-Cola of Northern New England, of Bedford, New Hampshire, which is an independent company that partners with Coca-Cola.
Moxie is made in Londonderry, New Hampshire. It was patented in 1885 and was the first bottled beverage in America, according to its maker.

The Five Most Overrated Beers
If people want to drink cheap, badly made beer, fine. This is America, they're free to make poor decisions about beer. Frankly, it's none of my business. When I see some poor sap placing a twelve-pack of an American adjunct lager that tastes like the water out of a can of expired corn into his grocery cart, I keep my comments to myself. However, when people rave about their favorite bad beer as if it's on par with a delicious Bell's Two Hearted Ale or a Founders Breakfast Stout (two of my go-to beers) I feel compelled to speak up. In the spirit of keeping bad beer drinkers honest, I've ranked the five most overrated beers below. To be clear, beers exist that are worse than the five below. But people who drink Molson Ice do not generally rave about its flavor. In contrast, the people who prefer the beers listed below tend to talk ad nauseam about how great their favorite beer is. They, of course, are wrong.
