'I loaded every weapon I could': Meet the man who captured Ga. fugitives

CHRISTIANA, Tenn. — Pruitt Road residents in this rural Rutherford County town were on guard when fugitives Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe came their way on the third day of the manhunt for the accused killers.

Bordering hundreds of acres of lush forest, the two-lane road winds through the countryside. Wild turkeys wander the road, and dogs run free on the rolling hills.

Aware of a freeway chase and gunfire on nearby Interstate 24, Patrick Hale said he loaded every gun in his house after neighbors called to say that two fugitives were possibly headed his way.

Republicans Go On Offensive Against Mueller; Call For 'Special Counsel' To Investigate AG Lynch

Last night, after Trump launched yet another furious tweetstorm intended to expose the double standard applied in the Hillary investigation compared to the Russia probe, we noted that Republicans might be well served to stop sitting around twiddling their thumbs and actually go on the offensive against an investigation that has obviously morphed into mass hysteria courtesy of free-flowing leaks from a conflicted "intelligence community" intent upon bringing down a presidency. Here's what we said:

Of course, until someone within the Trump administration or Republican Party smartens up and calls for the appointment of a 'Special Counsel' to look into Hillary's email scandal, something that should have been done long ago, and not for retaliatory reasons but simply due to Comey's and AG Lynch's blatant mishandling of the investigation (a point which Deputy AG Rosenstein obviously agreed with), the Democrats have no reason to calm their mass hysteria. Then, and only then, do we suspect that Hillary might just be able to 'convince' her party to exercise some form of reasonable judgement.

Now, according to a note this morning from The Hill, Republicans seem to be doing just that with several members of the GOP calling on the Special Counsel to look into whether former Attorney General Loretta Lynch illegally meddled in the Hillary investigation when she met with Bill Clinton on the tarmac in Phoenix and/or instructed Comey to refer to his case as a "matter" rather than an "investigation."

Rather than wasting resources on investigating Trump, the GOP says the special counsel must look into whether former attorney general Loretta Lynch meddled with the FBI’s criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server.Comey testified that Lynch told him to downplay the seriousness of the FBI’s email server investigation.

For those who missed it, here is Comey's testimony in which he confirms that Lynch "directed" him to refer to the Hillary email case as a "matter" rather than an 'investigation"...not to mention that ill-advised meeting with Bill Clinton on the Phoenix tarmac just days before the Justice Department was set to announce the results of their investigation.

Chelsey Gentry-Tipton, Nebraska Dem official, mocks GOP shooting victims

A Nebraska Democratic Party official is facing calls to step down after she appeared to mock grieving Congress members following Wednesday’s shooting in Alexandria, Virginia.

Chelsey Gentry-Tipton, chairwoman of the party’s Black Caucus, wrote in a Facebook thread about the shooting, “Watching the congressman crying on live tv abt the trauma they experienced. Y is this so funny tho?” according to the Omaha World-Herald.

She reportedly wrote later in the same thread: “Hard to be empathetic towards those that have no empathy for us. The very people that push pro NRA legislation in efforts to pad their pockets with complete disregard for human life. Yeah, having a hard time feeling bad for them.”

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise is in critical condition after he was shot by a leftist gunman in an attempted assassination of Republicans at a congressional baseball practice. A congressional staffer, a lobbyist and two Capitol police officers were also injured. The suspect died following a shootout with police.

Protesters disrupted a New York City stage production of Julius Caesar Friday that featured a bloody assassination of a character that resembled President Trump.

One protester, identified as Rebel Media's Laura Loomer, stormed the stage and shouted, "Stop Leftist Violence."

Another protester, identified as Jack Posobiec, rose to his feet and yelled, "The blood of Steve Scalise is on your hands" and "Goebbels would be proud."

Video of the incident was quickly posted on social media. It showed the crowd booing as an announcement was made that the show was briefly being halted.

How Will Trump Deal With a Stacked Deck?

Is the deck being stacked against President Trump? It's beginning to look that way since a special counsel was appointed a few weeks ago to investigate possible ties between Trump—or any breathing body in his campaign last year—and the Russians.

At the very least, the president will be on defense for months to come. He will be under scrutiny or attack by special counsel Robert Mueller, Senate and House committees, mobs of protesters, and the elite media. All the while the sword of impeachment will be hanging over him.

In theory, the appointment of Mueller as special counsel should be reassuring that the probe will be fair, objective, and nonpartisan. In his years as FBI director and as a Justice Department official, Mueller gained a reputation for honesty, integrity, and being a "straight-shooter."

Michael Phelps to race a great white during 'Shark Week'

Just when you though it was safe to go back in the water without winding up in a race with Michael Phelps, the Olympic hero is set to test his mettle once again. This time, though, Phelps will be putting his aquatic prowess up against his most dangerous opponent yet: a great white shark.

Hey, he has nothing left to prove against mere humans, right? But now in retirement, Phelps does need to parlay his legendary athletic career into high-profile gigs of various sorts, and so it is that he will star in this year's installment of Discovery's "Shark Week."

Here is the breathless blurb about the cable channel's "Great Gold vs. Great White" event, from Thursday's news release regarding its popular annual shark-stravaganza, set to air in late July:

Shots Fired in Indiana at Truck Flying ‘Make America Great Again Flag’

Indiana State Police are reporting that a truck flying a “Make America Great Again” flag was fired upon while traveling down I-465 just outside Indianapolis.

Bullet holes were seen in a 2001 Dodge pick-up truck Tuesday after another motorist took offense at the Donald Trump-inspired flag flying from its bed. The truck was also flying an American flag, police say.

Officials think that the shots were fired from another vehicle, a newer model, white, 4-door, Chevy Malibu, sporting a Louisiana license plate, according to Fox News.

The driver of the truck told police that the male driver of the Malibu drove up beside him in the eastbound lane, and waved a handgun out the window at him. The driver of the Malibu then reportedly fired several shots.

The driver of the Malibu is described as an African-American man about 23 years of age. His passenger was also a younger black man who had a sleeve tattoo on his right arm.

Resort introduces bus pass, fares can be paid in advance

Ocean City has quietly began offering extended term bus passes this summer as a trial program to gauge the public’s interest in them.

“Routinely, we get phone calls from our users to buy a pass for a week, a month or a season. This spring, I listened to the same call, and I figured we had all the materials to make a pass to see how it goes,” said Assistant Superintendent for Transportation Brian Connor during Tuesday’s Transportation Commission.

Now, bus patrons no longer have to count coins before taking a seat on the bus. With the pre-paid bus pass, paying the $3 a day fare makes cruising Coastal Highway that much easier.

New Jersey Supreme Court Okays Machetes for Self-Defense Under 2A

The New Jersey Supreme Court unanimously ruled this week in favor of a man who, fearing for his life, answered his front door carrying a machete, holding that in such an instance an individual may lawfully possess and hold a weapon for self-defense.

On March 24, 2012, Arturs Daleckis and his wife grew agitated at the noise emanating from the apartment directly above their own, occupied by Crisoforo Montalvo and his wife. Daleckis pounded on his ceiling, and Montalvo appeared at Daleckis’s front door shortly thereafter. Montalvo broke a table belonging to Daleckis, at which point Montalvo retreated back into his apartment.

Daleckis walked upstairs and, according to Montalvo and his wife, began kicking and slamming their front door. Fearing for his life and that of his wife and unborn child, Montalvo retrieved a machete he used for roofing and answered the door.

Daleckis claimed that Montalvo pointed the machete at him, and Montalvo testified that he kept it at his side. In any case, while Montalvo convinced Daleckis to leave his apartment without inflicting injury, he was still charged with “possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose” and “unlawful possession of a weapon.”

Rand Paul denounces 'new entitlements' in emerging health bill

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) sharply criticized central elements of the emerging Senate Republican healthcare bill on Thursday, indicating that he will vote against it unless dramatic changes are made.

Paul denounced as “new entitlements” two core elements of the Republican bill in both the House and Senate: a refundable tax credit to help people buy insurance and a “stabilization fund” of money to help bring down premiums.

“I think we shouldn't have new entitlements that will go on forever in a Republican plan to fix healthcare,” Paul told a small group of reporters. “We can't pay for what we already have: Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.”

Asked if he would vote “no,” Paul said: “What I'm telling them is if they get to an impasse, come talk to me, because I'm more than willing to vote for a partial repeal if I can't get complete repeal, but I'm not willing to vote for new Republican entitlement programs.”

Would You Fire This Gun?

LIBERTY: This Republican has a revolutionary DC gun bill

A day after the tragic shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La, and others in Alexandria, Va. Wednesday morning, multiple members of Congress have publicly pondered how to keep themselves and others safe from other such attacks.

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., has an idea: Give people the freedom to defend themselves in our nation's capital.

On the Fox Business Network Thursday, Massie announced that he would be introducing the D.C. Personal Protection Reciprocity Act (similar to a measure introduced by House Freedom Caucus Member David Schweikert, R-Ariz., last year).

The bill would honor people's concealed carry permits (not just members of Congress) in the District of Columbia, where even a 2008 loss at the Supreme Court for the gun-grabbers has not deterred the government from keeping a tight leach on people's exercise of their Second Amendment rights.

In D.C. guns are only allowed in the home, unless one can offer a good enough reason for the District to issue them a carry permit. And very few can.

Rosenstein Says He May Need To Recuse Himself In Russia Probe: ABC

This morning is becoming very chaotic for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, a man who has historically maintained a very low profile at the Department of Justice. After issuing a rather uncharacteristic and cryptic statement last night urging Americans not to trust "anonymously-sourced" new stories (a statement that many have speculated is attributable to Wapo's latest anonymously-sourced headline from last night) and being blasted by President Trump this morning, ABC is reporting that Rosenstein has privately acknowledged that he may need to recuse himself in Mueller's Russia probe.

The senior Justice Department official with ultimate authority over the special counsel's probe of Russia's alleged meddling in the 2016 election has privately acknowledged to colleagues that he may have to recuse himself from the matter, which he took charge of only after Attorney General Jeff Sessions' own recusal, sources tell ABC News.

Those private remarks from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein are significant because they reflect the widening nature of the federal probe, which now includes a preliminary inquiry into whether President Donald Trump attempted to obstruct justice when he allegedly tried to curtail the probe and then fired James Comey as FBI director.

Ocean City Denied Grant To Help Fund Tram Replacements

OCEAN CITY — Resort officials are still exploring how best to replace the aging trams used on the Boardwalk and at Winterfest of Lights, but it now appears there will be no state or federal grant help with the potentially costly price tag.

For the last several months, the Transportation Committee has been exploring alternatives for repairing or replacing the city’s fleet of trams, which are nearing the end of their useful life. Refurbishing the trams to extend their life is one option under consideration, as are replacing them with new gasoline or electric models. Each option comes with its own benefits and, of course, price tags.

At the last meeting in May, committee members decided to explore a federal grant program for funding municipal transportation projects that feature low emissions. The grants come with a caveat, however. The federal grants passed through the Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) would only be made available for projects that serve a bonafide transportation need.

Shakespeare Farce gets a Shout Down in NYC!

By Thornton Crowe

Last night, during the Shakespeare in the Park performance in Central Park, Trump supporter and Rebel Media journalist, Laura Loomer, got up on stage in the middle of the Trump assassination scene and created a scene of her own.

Loomer, a staunch Trump proponent, after reading Donald Trump, Jr.'s tweet about this cleverly disguised propaganda programming disguised as a 'play,' jumped up on stage and told the crowd they were being indoctrinated to kill the President. The incident lasted for about ten minutes before security removed her from the stage, while another Trump supporter, Jack Posobiec yelled to the crowd, "Goebbels would be proud."

In a surreal moment prior to Loomer's interruption, it was like a scene out of Leni Riefenstahl's Nazi propaganda film, Triumph of the Will, where mindless bots looked at the stage, expressionless and chanting whatever they're told. Therefore, in truth, Loomer and Posobiec were completely right about the mass indoctrination of the public under the guise of 'art.'

Posobiec was not arrested because he merely shouted from his seat in the audience; however, he was removed by security along with Loomer.

Of course, Loomer was arrested for her interruption and the Public Theater of New York is pressing 'trespassing' charges; however, shockwaves went out among the conservatives backing Trump as they herald her for her bravery. People like Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, Fox & Friends and Dinesh D'Souza chimed in to congratulate the young Jewish female activist, applauding her for her actions and daring to stand up for her own First Amendment right to speak out against the horrific ruse.

Unlike ANTIFA, she didn't wear a mask or banish a tire iron ready to beat people up - perhaps if she had, she wouldn't have been arrested. Because as we all remember all too well, the folks at Berkeley didn't arrest ANTIFA rioters when they beat victims with weapons and sprayed pepper spray in their eyes.

She has been formerly charged with creating a public disturbance and trespassing -- much more than any ANTIFA member has been charged with to date.

For those of you who know the real story of Julius Caesar, Shakespeare's version was a commentary of a friend/associate who stabbed his close friend in the back - not advocating leaders to be assassinated in a mass killing with multiple assailants. From the looks of this 'play,' there doesn't seem to be many 'friends' among the players. Therefore, it is not even close to any stretch of an interpretation of the Shakespearean play.

Isn't it time conservatives rise up and stop accepting this political violence by the left? It's not like Loomer is a big burly man; she's a petite woman. If she can be this brave, why don't you?

Note: The play runs for two more nights before closing, and activists like Mike Cernovich have put it out in the airwaves, anything could happen during those two performances. We'll just have to see how it all shakes out!

Genesis Healthcare Inc. Agrees to Pay Federal Government $53.6 Million to Resolve False Claims Act Allegations Relating to the Provision of Medically Unnecessary Rehabilitation Therapy and Hospice Services

The Justice Department announced today that Genesis Healthcare Inc. (Genesis) will pay the federal government $53,639,288.04, including interest, to settle six federal lawsuits and investigations alleging that companies and facilities acquired by Genesis violated the False Claims Act by causing the submission of false claims to government health care programs for medically unnecessary therapy and hospice services, and grossly substandard nursing care. Genesis, headquartered in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, owns and operates through its subsidiaries skilled nursing facilities, assisted/senior living facilities, and a rehabilitation therapy business.

“We will continue to hold health care providers accountable if they bill for unnecessary or substandard services or treatment,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Chad A. Readler of the Justice Department’s Civil Division. “Today’s settlement demonstrates our unwavering commitment to protect federal health care programs against unscrupulous providers.”

This settlement resolves four sets of allegations. First, the settlement resolves allegations that from April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2013, Skilled Healthcare Group Inc. (SKG) and its subsidiaries, Skilled Healthcare LLC (Skilled LLC) and Creekside Hospice II LLC, knowingly submitted or caused to be submitted false claims to Medicare for services performed at the Creekside Hospice facility in Las Vegas, Nevada by: (1) billing for hospice services for patients who were not terminally ill and so were not eligible for the Medicare hospice benefit and (2) billing inappropriately for certain physician evaluation management services.

City of Utica ‘gone’ because of refugee flood

'Trump has tried to stop this from happening but has been repeatedly blocked by leftist activist courts'

WASHINGTON –
In a post that quickly went viral, blogger Loretta the Prole outlined how a flood of Muslim refugees changed the face of her hometown of Utica, New York, forever.

The piece, titled “My Hometown is Gone,” was written in response to the recent increase in refugee numbers and was designed to “convey what it is like living in an Islamizing area,” according to Loretta.

“I’m from the Utica, N.Y., area. Utica is the city nicknamed by the UN ‘the city that loves refugees!’ Soon every American city will be a city that loves refugees! Get ready!” the piece begins sarcastically.

“So I would like to tell you what it is like living in an area where the major city is about 25 percent (or more) refugee, mainly Muslim.”

Trump goes after Rosenstein in latest 'witch hunt' attack

Donald Trump confirmed for the first time that he is directly under investigation over obstruction of justice in a Tweet Friday.

Trump lashed out in all directions at those probing his administration – going after his own deputy attorney general, an FBI Russia probe, and congressional overseers.

But his tweet also showed that he is in fact the focus of the investigation, something which had been reported from anonymous sources but never officially confirmed.

'I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt,' Trump Tweeted Friday morning, in an unprecedented shot at deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein.

Rosenstein, who was nominated by Trump and confirmed by the Senate this year, issued an unusual statement Thursday night, following reports that special counsel Robert Mueller was probing possible obstruction of justice in the wake of Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey.

Summer Of Hate: The Arrival Of The Crisis & The Second Civil War?

In our previous article, we discussed how our analysis of recent events in the US and elsewhere seem to be leading up to some sort of ‘Crisis Event’ that appears to correlate with some of the predictions made in Neil Strauss and William Howe’s 1997 book The Fourth Turning: What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America’s Next Rendezvous with Destiny.

This ‘Crisis Event’ could reach a boiling point this summer as the grassroots Trump movement moves from the arenas and convention halls to the streets, where they will converge with the Soros-backed organized Left in what is already looking like a series of violent confrontations.

In the week since we first speculated about an increase in the frequency and intensity of these violent political protests sweeping the United States, there have been some significant developments that give further credence to our assessment.

Is The Concern Artificial Intelligence — Or Autonomy?

There's a provocative interview with the philosopher Daniel Dennett in Living on Earth.

The topic is Dennett's latest book — From Bacteria to Bach and Back: The Evolution of Minds — and his idea that Charles Darwin and Alan Turing can be credited, in a way, with the same discovery: that you don't need comprehension to achieve competence.

Darwin showed how you can get the appearance of purpose and design out of blind processes of natural selection. And Turing, one of the pioneers in the field of computation, offered evidence that any problem precise enough to be computed at all, can be computed by a mechanical device — that is, a device without an iota of insight or understanding.

But the part of the interview that particularly grabbed my attention comes at the end.Living on Earth host Steve Curwood raises the, by now, hoary worry that as AI advances, machines will come to lord over us. This is a staple of science fiction and it has recently become the focus of considerable attention among opinion-makers. (Discussion of the so-called "singularity.") Dennett acknowledges that the risk of takeover is a real one. But he says we've misunderstood it: The risk is not that machines will become autonomous and come to rule over us — the risk is, rather, that we will come to depend too much on machines.

It's a real survey, though, which found that 7 percent of American adults surveyed think that chocolate milk comes from brown cows. And 48 percent of adults surveyed admitted to not being sure of where chocolate milk comes from.

One of the bill’s co-authors Representative Jeff Leach (R-Plano) thanked the governor, who signed HB 45 on Wednesday. Leach called the law “vitally important bill to further safeguard and protect our Constitutional rights!” In the last legislative session, Leach authored the comparable yet unsuccessful ALAC measure, House Bill 562.

High Schools Drop "Valedictorian" Distinction Fearing Lower-Ranked Kids May Feel 'Triggered'

We've spent a fair amount of time over the past several years writing about the 'participation trophy generation' (a.k.a. "millennials) and, more specifically, how their inflated sense of entitlement and self-worth, irrespective of work effort and/or innate talent, would not serve them well in the real world.

You see millennials, despite what your enabling handlers (a.k.a. "educators") have told you your whole life, people here in the real world couldn't care any less about your feelings, think your 'Gender Studies' degree was a complete waste of your parents' money, will not promote you just because anything less would be a 'triggering' event and do not recognize your standing to demand 'safe spaces'.

In fact, taking a moment to truly internalize the following quote from our favorite movie would serve you well.

“Listen up maggots. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else. We are the all singing, all dancing crap of the world. We are all part of the same compost heap.”

And, while we've been forced to write post after post detailing the lunacy of your behavior as you frolic aimlessly on the campuses of liberal bastions of higher indoctrination across this great country, growing more and more sickened with each new display of entitlement, we have to say that your efforts to eliminate high school rankings is a new low, even for you.

Oregon adds 3rd Gender Option to Driver Licenses

Oregon on Thursday became the first U.S. state to allow residents to identify as neither male nor female on state driver's licenses, a decision that transgender advocates called a victory for civil rights.

Under a policy unanimously adopted by the Oregon Transportation Commission, residents can choose to have an "X," for non-specified, displayed on their driver's license or identification cards rather than an "M" for male or "F" for female.

The policy change was cheered by supporters as a major step in expanding legal recognition and civil rights for people who do not identify as male or female. This includes individuals with both male and female anatomies, people without a gender identity and those who identify as a different gender than listed on their birth certificate.

Pat Buchanan Remembers "A Long History of Leftist Hatred"

James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois, who aspired to end his life as a mass murderer of Republican Congressmen, was a Donald Trump hater and a Bernie Sanders backer.

Like many before him, Hodgkinson was a malevolent man of the hating and hard left.

His planned atrocity failed because two Capitol Hill cops were at that Alexandria baseball field, providing security for House Whip Steve Scalise. Had those cops not been there, a massacre would have ensued with many more dead than the gunman.

Recall. There were no armed citizens at that Tucson grocery in 2011, when six were murdered and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was gravely wounded along with a dozen others. The nutcase doing the shooting was only wrestled to the ground when he dropped a clip trying to reload.

The Alexandria attack brings back memories of long ago.

A day before my 12th birthday, when I was in Children’s Hospital with a broken leg, my parents brought me the news that Puerto Rican terrorists had just attempted to assassinate Harry Truman at Blair House. A heroic cop, Leslie Coffelt, died stopping them.

In my second year in high school, blocks from the Capitol, Puerto Rican nationalists entered the visitor’s gallery of the House and began firing semiautomatic pistols. Five Congressmen were wounded.

Democratic politics has often proven a dangerous calling.

The Federal Reserve’s latest increase in short-term interest rates will have only a modest impact on consumer borrowing costs. But if the central bank continues to push up rates, which seems likely, then consumers should be adjusting their borrowing strategies now to minimize the impact later on.

As expected, the Fed raised its benchmark federal funds rate on Wednesday by a quarter point, to an upper limit of 1.25 percent. That’s still well below the historic average. But every increase in the rate—which is what banks and credit unions charge each other for loans—gets passed on to consumers in the form of higher rates on everything from credit card balances to car loans.

With that in mind, here’s how to prepare for the continued rise in consumer borrowing rates.

Mortgages. If you’re in the market for a new mortgage, or you have an adjustable-rate mortgage, rising interest rates could mean you’ll be paying more on your loan.

Although the Fed’s interest-rate hike doesn’t directly affect mortgage rates, it influences other factors—such as the 10-year Treasury bond—that do affect mortgages.

So what can you do? If you have an adjustable-rate mortgage, you may want to consider refinancing to a fixed-rate loan before long-term rates increase further, says Adrien Auclert, an assistant economics professor at Stanford University. And if you’re thinking of taking out a new fixed-rate mortgage, consider doing it sooner rather than later, when rates may be even higher.

Mistrial declared in Bill Cosby sexual assault trial

A Pennsylvania judge declared a mistrial Saturday in the case against Bill Cosby after a jury was unable to come to a unanimous decision, an inconclusive finale to one of the most high-profile sexual assault cases in years.

Cosby was charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault in an incident involving former Temple University basketball staffer Andrea Constand at his home in suburban Philadelphia in 2004.

Over the last 10 days, jurors heard the entertainer's defense that the encounter was consensual, while Constand, taking the stand and facing Cosby for the first time, testified that Cosby drugged her and robbed her of the ability to consent.

Today's teens have the same activity levels as someone who is 60, shocking new study finds

Teenagers have the same level of activity as an elderly person, a shocking study reveals.

Baltimore researchers found 'alarmingly low' rates of movement in older teens and declared that physical activity levels for all minors were much lower than expected.

The most astonishing finding was that 19-year-olds were so sluggish, they could be compared to an elder in their 60s.

More than 50 to 75 percent of adolescents aren't meeting the suggested guidelines for daily activity amounts, resulting in this alarming sedentary lifestyle.

FAIL: Man Robs Bank to Escape Wife Receives Hilarious Sentence

This is too funny. Things are just not working out the way they were intended to for 71 year-old Lawrence John Ripple. Last September, Ripple wrote a robbery note in front of his wife and left to go rob a bank. Why? Because he said he would rather be in jail than have to be around his wife. He did indeed take the note to a bank and a teller gave him $2,924. He then sat down in the lobby and waited for the police

When brought in front of a judge, Ripple said that he had been depressed because of his heart surgery and was not himself. His attorney asked for leniency. They got that and a heaping dose of irony. The judge gave him probation, which means he will be at home with his wife, where he didn’t want to be. I’m not sure, but that may qualify as cruel and unusual punishment. Heh.

Tear Down Lord Acton’s Statue?

Sir,

The very kind letter which Mrs. Lee wrote to my wife last winter encouraged me to hope that you will forgive my presuming to address you, and that you will not resent as an intrusion a letter from an earnest and passionate lover of the cause whose glory and whose strength you were.

I have been requested to furnish private counsel in American affairs for the guidance of the editors of a weekly Review which is to begin at the New Year, and which will be conducted by men who are followers of Mr. Gladstone. You are aware, no doubt, that Mr. Gladstone was in the minority of Lord Palmerston’s cabinet who wished to accept the French Emperor’s proposal to mediate in the American war.

The reason of the confidence shown in my advice is simply the fact that I formerly traveled in America, and that I afterwards followed the progress of the four years’ contest as closely and as keenly as it was possible to do with the partial and unreliable information that reached us. In the momentous questions which have arisen since you sheathed the sword, I have endeavoured to conform my judgment to your own as well as I could ascertain it from the report of your evidence, from the few English travelers who enjoyed the privilege of speaking with you, and especially from General Beauregard, who spoke, as I understood, your sentiments as well as his own. My travels in America never led me south of Maryland, and the only friends to whom I can look for instruction, are Northerners, mostly of Webster’s school.

In my emergency, urged by the importance of the questions at issue in the United States, and by the peril of misguided public opinion between our two countries, I therefore seek to appeal to southern authorities, and venture at once to proceed to Headquarters.

New York Times: Who Wants To Live In A Society Where We’re All Armed For Self-Defense!!?

The New York Times is full of coastal elites who don’t understand why the rest of the stupid country won’t listen to them.

After the attack in Alexandria, lots of left-wing papers were filled with disgusting hot takes aiming to place the blame for the attempted massacre on anyone, anything other than the shooter who was a Trump hating Sanders loving lefty who used to protest against “the rich.”

So the New York Times posted a piece stating that yes, anyone in that situation would wish they would be able to protect themselves and their friends, but stopped that thought right in it’s tracks with this gem:

Yet consider the society Americans would have to live in–the choices they would have to make–to enable that kind of defense. Every member of Congress, and every other American of whatever age, would have to go to baseball practice, or to school, or to work, or to the post office, or to the health clinic–or to any other place mass shootings now take place–with a gun on their hip.

BREAKING: Democrat Leader Now URGING Americans To ‘HUNT’ Republicans

Following the shooting of Republican Representative Steve Scalice, there have been bipartisan calls for unity. Unfortunately, those have been punctuated by more calls for violence from Democrats, such as the New Jersey Democratic strategist who is urging people to “hunt Republicans.”

The worst part? He’s absolutely not sorry about it either. He’s completely dehumanized the other side and thinks it’s okay to advocate murder based on political differences.

He’s clearly mentally ill.

In a statement to MyCentralJersey.com, James Devine said that his Twitter postings calling for the “hunt” of Republican Congressmen “speaks for itself. Yesterday’s events are the result of escalating rhetoric and vitriol that has been evident in our political system culminating with the election of our president and the chickens came home to roost, you know?”

He also said that it is insensitive, and I don’t care. You want me to be politically correct? I don’t have time for that anymore. I’m not apologizing if it offended snowflake Republicans.”

Obama era-bureaucrats 'waiting Trump out,' block IRS, Fast and Furious probes

Republican hopes that the election of President Trump would open the federal government's vaults to investigators probing Obama-era scandals including Fast and Furious and the IRS have died as burrowed-in workers try to "wait out" until the president leaves office, said a top House GOP member.

In a blunt exit interview, retiring Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the outgoing chairman of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, said stonewalling by agencies is just as bad as it was during the Obama era.

"I think if we went to the senior most people, even the president himself, they would be pulling their hair out and they would hate to hear that but within the bowels of the organization, they just seem to circle the wagons and think, oh we just, we can just wait you out. We can just wait you out," he said on the upcoming Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson,

Robert Mueller faces tough obstruction case against Donald Trump

Special counsel Robert Mueller could have a tough time making an obstruction of justice case stick against PresidentTrump, according to legal analysts, who said he will have to overcome a number of “unique hurdles” — not the least of which is a decades-old Justice Department ruling that a sitting president can’t be charged.

Analysts say it will be up to Mr. Mueller to decide whether to accept the long-standing opinion of the Office of Legal Counsel, which ruled in 1973 and again in 2000 that a president has immunity from criminal prosecution.

It’s also not clear that FBI investigations count as “proceedings” that could be obstructed under one of the legal statutes that might be cited in an obstruction case, according to a legal memo prepared last month by the Congressional Research Service.

“Courts have not reached consensus on whether an FBI investigation meets this standard,” the report says of 18 U.S.C. 1505, which applies generally to obstruction of administrative proceedings.

Rolling Back DAPA Encourages Legal Immigration

WASHINGTON, DC: On June 15, President Trump rolled back the program knowns as Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA). The Obama-era program is an extension of another program, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which allowed children brought into the United States illegally to remain in the country. DAPA would have exempted parents of children covered by DACA from deportation. Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) issued the following statement in support of President Trump’s decision:

“I support the cancellation of plans to exempt illegal immigrants from lawful deportation. The plan would have unilaterally expanded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program without authorization by Congress. While courts had previously ruled against the Obama-era policy and blocked its implementation, this decision by the Trump administration will encourage the legal entry of vetted people into the United States - which helps protect our security and enforce the rule of law.”

Fed. grant cuts hit summer school programs

Of the county’s 13 schools, eight have summer and afterschool activities funded by grants under the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program. But, because of federal budget cuts, the programs cannot continue the same level of service this year.

Summer programs like full-day pre-K for eligible students have been eliminated in favor of afterschool activities during the traditional school year.

“In our surveys of parents, they felt the biggest bang for our buck was in afterschool programs, not summer. We hope they return next year with additional funding,” Tamara Mills, coordinator of instruction at Worcester County Public Schools, said.

Mills said she got word of the cuts at the end of March and into the beginning of April, and admitted that communication with both parents and the private daycare community — upon whom parents must depend to pick up the slack left by the cuts — could have been better.

The U.S. Will Not Support Human Rights Violations in Cuba

WASHINGTON, DC: This week, President Trump announced plans to revise components of former President Obama’s opening to Cuba. Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) released the following statement expressing support for the change in policy:

“President Trump continues to deliver on his campaign promises. The Cuban government is a military dictatorship guilty of gross human rights violations. Unfortunately, funds from U.S. companies and tourists are benefitting the Communist regime and its military – not the Cuban people. The president’s swift action ensures that business transactions between American companies and legitimate Cuban companies empower the Cuban people and promote a fair society. The U.S. Embassy in Havana will remain open, and the U.S. government will continue to promote democracy in Cuba. It is important that we, as a nation, do not encourage the Cuban regime’s political and religious persecution of its own people.”

LEGENDARY COMMENTS BY GEORGE CHEVALLIER 6-17-17

TALES FROM THE RIVER

Having worked at Nanticoke Seafood for 29 years, I was privy to some of the musings of the local watermen. Technically, I was the Purchasing Agent for Nanticoke Seafood, which processed frozen products. Nobody seemed to know much about Nanticoke Seafood and always thought I worked for Coldwater, which moved to Cambridge years before. Actually it was the largest producer in the world of fried clam strips. We didn’t have our own retail label, but produced in large quantities for large chains such as Red Lobster, Long John Silver’s, Friendly’s, Shoney’s and Country Harvest Buffets. This took up all of our production and was reflected in Nanticoke Seafood never having a losing year in its 40+ years of its existence.

Getting back to the subject of tales from the river, my grandmother was quite upset when I went to work down there in 1974. She was 86 at the time and very set in her ways and convictions. When I asked her why she was so upset, she asked if they sold oysters down there. I told her they probably did through the H. B. Kennerly Co. She said oysters made you “lustful” and I had better be careful. One day I wandered outside where they were unloading the tonging boats. They used to unload them into a bushel-sized bucket that was hauled manually by rope and pully to the waiting front-end loader for transport to the shucking or grading tables. I asked one of the watermen if there was any truth to what my grandmother had told me. He kind of grunted and said that if there was any truth to that, Mr. Kennerly wouldn’t be getting them for $3.00 a bushel.

Another time, when one of the tongers came into the office to get paid for his day’s catch, I was witness to this conversation. An occasional tourist would come in for a pint of oysters and happened to be there when this tonger came in for his money. It was a particularly nasty day, cold and rainy, and he looked like he had experienced all that Mother Nature could mete out. When I asked him if he was O.K., the lady in the tourist entourage interrupted and remarked that he was a waterman and he was used to it. At this point, he calmly remarked that you never get used to being wet and cold. He didn’t offend her, but he did get his point across.

When I started working down there, I became Salisbury’s link to fresh oysters at wholesale prices. I didn’t mind and usually delivered the pints. Something happened early on that I never divulged. Everyone wanted their oysters in their own liquor right out of the shell. The first pint I requested from the “skimmer man” was for the oysters to be in their own liquor. He calmly informed of two things. One – nobody wants oysters that haven’t been “washed”. The sand and shell would make for very precarious eating. As far as “in their own liquor” – oyster liquor is simply water. Nobody ever complained and I never divulged the truth to them.

Another amazing fete and a combination of American ingenuity and shear intestinal fortitude I witnessed was the time a Mr. Pruitt was out tonging oysters and his motor quit. He took the carpet from his boat and cut two slits in it. Through these he wove his tong shaft handles to make a sail. With this he proceeded to sail back to safe harbor at Nanticoke. Before the days of cell phones and modern technology, Americans had to think for themselves. Times may have gotten more convenient, but are we losing the ability to use our brain to come up with these inventive solutions?

13 Instances How Liberal Democrats Encouraged Murder Of Republican Officials & The Possible Death Of Scalise Is Their Fault

The left has done nothing but gin up hatred and violence against President Trump and Republicans for years. Since Trump was elected last year, the calls for assassination and violence have simply been off the charts. Democrats are actively encouraging the killing of Republican officials and the sitting President of the United States. Today, the day after Congressman Scalise was shot by a raving, radical leftist moonbat in Virginia, we wait to hear if he will pass away. He’s had three surgeries so far. A bullet hit him in the hip, then ricocheted off his pelvis, shattering bones and hitting vital organs. Yesterday, he was in critical, but stable condition. Today, President Trump says it is more serious than anyone knows. If he dies, that blood is all over the hands of liberal Democrats.

A nightmare unfolded in the morning sunlight during a Republican baseball practice session in Virginia yeasterday. James T. Hodgkinson, a Bernie Sanders supporter, took a rifle and a pistol to the field and started shooting. When it was all said and done, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was shot in the hip, an aide was shot in the chest, a lobbyist was shot and two officers were wounded. Both the aide and the officers will be fine. The lobbyist who was also shot is the most critically injured, but will survive. The shooter is dead.

I want to share 13 instances of those on the left threatening President Trump and others on the right. I’ll also include video from Keith Olbermann, who is cheerleading The Resistance in his videos for GQ, where he actively calls for violence against President Trump. It’s despicable. Below that, I’ll give you a taste of the hate out there on Twitter. When Jared Lee Loughner shot Gabby Giffords in 2011, the left blamed Sarah Palin and the Tea Party. The right never threatened the left with violence or death. People are saying today that the shooter alone is responsible for trying to kill a bunch of Republicans yesterday and we can no more blame the left than the left should have blamed the right over Giffords. Except that the left is actively calling for violence and assassination. That’s the point that makes the left culpable here.

Moms Now Asking Their Infants For PERMISSION To Pick Them Up- To Combat RAPE Culture

I’m all for teaching kids that strangers shouldn’t touch them, especially inappropriately, but this is just going too far.

Moms are now asking INFANTS for permission to pick them up as a way to “#endrapeculture.” You know how you know if a baby wants you to pick it up or not? It will cry. If it cries, it doesn’t want to be held. Otherwise, assume that, as an infant child that cannot transport itself from one area to another, it wants to be picked up.

This crap started with Nisha Moodly, who posted a photo of her and her son on Instagram with an explanation of her “parenting technique.”

Hooters Waitress Stuns Customer By Giving Him More Than He Bargained For…

Hooters is known for chicken wings served by scantily clad waitresses, which is what brings in their mostly-male clientele. But many of these waitresses get to know their customers, and for one waitress, getting to know a customer led to a truly life-changing event for both of them.

Mariana Villarreal hadn’t been working at the Hooters in Roswell, Georgia for long. But she had already gotten to know some of the regular customers, including Don Thomas. Thomas had been frequenting the location for a while, and he and Villarreal seemed to hit it off right away.

UBER Driver Runs Car Into Trump Motorcade STRIKING Secret Service Agent

Just less than 24 hours after a lunatic liberal activist opened fire on GOP congressmen at a baseball practice session, a driver in Washington D.C. has now reportedly ra into a motorcade for President Donald Trump. The vehicle struck a Secret Service agent while Trump was on his way back to the White House after a visit to the hospital to check on Steve Scalise.

CNN reports that the Secret Service “had blocked a street for the President’s return to the White House” when the driver attempted to enter the motorcade route against all the verbal warning and obvious visual commands to halt his approach. It was then one of the secret agents tried to block the vehicle’s progress into the route and was struck by the unnamed driver. The agent landed on the hood of the driver’s Mazda SUV.

The so far unidentified driver was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and it’s been reported that the secret agent thankfully sustained only minor injuries.

The attack was taken to a nearby police station for processing, and there he revealed that he was an UBER driver and that “he was not paying attention to the Secret Service officer but rather ‘another vehicle,’”

IRONY: Global Warming Study Is CANCELLED Because….THICK SUMMER ICE!

Oh this is so ironic that it almost seems too good to be true. This is a global research study that was suppose take place in Canada. It has been months in the planning, and participants truly believed they were going to be saving the world with their research. Saving the world from over heating, due to global warming that is. Not so bright…

However, when it came down to the wire, the boat they were going to take out for the research was cancelled on them. It was needed to go pull in and assist a couple other boats that had become STUCK in the ocean because…wait for it…. UNPRECEDENTED thick summer ice. So basically, they need to go out and collect all the evidence that the world is overheating and we are in danger…except there was too much ice so they couldn’t take the boat they wanted to.

The Blunt Truth

The Moment Loretta Lynch Called On ‘Blood And Death’ In The Streets To Oppose Trump

As the nation regains it’s footing from the political terrorist shooting of a Republican Congressman who was put in critical condition by a deranged leftist Bernie Sanders supporter, Obama’s Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, reminds us all that she recently called for liberals to resist the GOP even if it meant blood and death in the streets.

The call for blood was only two months ago for Loretta Lynch, the 83rd Attorney General of the United States of America — the nation’s top law enforcement officer — as she released a video asking for revolution, insurrection, and mass violence in the streets, all because they despise Trump.

If you are trying to connect the dots of the crazed murderer and liberal activist James T. Hodgkinson, to his driving motivation, Lynch would be a great start as she had said the following on her video:

“We have always had to work to move this country forward to achieve the great ideals of our Founding Fathers. They’ve marched, they’ve bled, yes some of them have died. This is hard. Every good thing is. We have done this before; we can do this again.”

Alt-Left Insanity: Liberal Shooting Spree = Time to Take Away Our Guns

First, like the corrupt New York Times, they get to rewrite history and blame the left/right violence on Sarah Palin. (Yes, they really did that, despite all facts showing them to be lying morons. And then they had to correct it. Palin might have to wait a millennium or two for the apology she deserves.)

Perdue Farms Company Stewardship Report Covers a Watershed Year of Disruptive Changes

SALISBURY, MD. — Perdue Farms released its 2016 Company Stewardship Report today, covering a watershed year in which Perdue became the first major poultry company to move all of its chicken production to no-antibiotics-ever programs and to commit to groundbreaking changes in the way it raises chickens. The release is available at www.responsiblefoodandagriculture.com.

“Last year, we made significant changes in our practices, including moving to no antibiotics ever and changing the way we think about raising animals," said CEO Randy Day. “That put us in a position to empower consumers, customers and farmers with choices that can drive change. People expect more of Perdue, so we can’t accept the status quo.”

Responded to stakeholder concerns through leadership in antibiotics and elevating animal care

“Our Company Stewardship Report is a way of reporting back to all stakeholders on what we’ve done, and are doing, to address the things that matter to them,” said Chairman Jim Perdue. “Two of the biggest areas of concern we heard were antibiotic use and animal welfare. At the same time, our stakeholders want transparency around all our practices. We’re responding to those expectations.”

Took another major step in protecting the Chesapeake Bay

To further its commitment to environmental responsibility, Perdue instituted a composting operation as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the Chesapeake Bay and Delmarva’s waterways in 2016. The new operation extended Perdue’s program of handling surplus poultry litter from Delmarva poultry farms, while adding the capacity to recycle nutrients from other by-products, many of which were previously land-applied.

The $12.5 million capital project brought the company’s total investment in nutrient recycling to $80 million since 2001, the year it became the first poultry company with an alternative solution to land application of poultry litter.

Reduced environmental footprint

Over a three-year period, Perdue reduced water use by 4.6 percent while continuing to enhance food safety. Carbon dioxide emissions fell by almost six percent over the past three years, driven in part by a 14 percent reduction in fossil fuel use and a reduction in electricity use.

Focused on workplace safety

Perdue’s workplace safety record continued to best the average not just for poultry companies but also that of all manufacturing workplaces, with a lost-time rate one-fourth that of the manufacturing sector. Perdue also received the highest number of safety awards of any poultry company from the Joint Industry Safety and Health Council.

Believing in responsible food and agriculture

“The report follows Perdue’s stewardship platform, ‘We believe in responsible food and agriculture,’” said Steve Levitsky, Vice President of Sustainability. “We understand that we have to be responsible in the way we produce food, raise animals and use our shared natural resources, while being a responsible employer, business partner and member of our communities.”

The report covers Perdue’s accomplishments and ongoing stewardship in the areas of food, environment, animal care and people – with people encompassing associates and their communities, customers and farmers and other business partners.

“For three generations, the Perdue family leadership has directed us that, if we do the right thing, profitability will follow,” said Day. “As with any other company, we have a responsibility to our shareholders, but ours encourage us to take on leadership positions that initially require more effort and resources. That added responsibility is part of our company culture, and reflected through our Company Stewardship Report.
