A new poll for Republicans and Republican-leaning voters, posted on Twitter by Tony Fabrizio, Trump's pollster during the 2016 presidential campaign, reveals they are losing faith in Congress faster than they are in Trump.
One potential factor: the Republican-controlled Senate fell a vote shy in late July of passing a bill that would have repealed elements of the Affordable Care Act. Republicans have promised for years to repeal the ACA if given control.

Dredging Workshop Brings Bay Safety Concerns To Light
FENWICK ISLAND – State and local officials are encouraging Fenwick Island residents to write letters that express the need for dredging the Little Assawoman Bay after hearing the community’s concerns at a public meeting in Fenwick Island last week.
Last Friday, officials with the Town of Fenwick Island invited members of the community to attend a dredging workshop with Senator Gerald Hocker and Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Administrator Tony Pratt in an effort to garner support for dredging the neighboring Little Assawoman Bay and to voice concerns about current safety conditions along its waterways.
Pratt told attendees the state is expected to generate an additional $1.3 million in anticipated revenue from increased boat registration fees to fund dredging projects, but shared the exponential costs and time associated with dredging.
“As you can see, we have a tremendous need and a very small revenue stream to treat it,” he said.

Former U.S. Attorney On Awan Indictment: "There Is Something Very Strange Going On Here"
We've written frequently over the past couple of months about the litany of unanswered questions surrounding the mysterious case of Debbie Wasserman Schultz's (DWS) IT staffers. Why did DWS seemingly threaten the chief of the U.S. Capitol Police with “consequences” for holding equipment that was confiscated as part of an ongoing legal investigation? Why did DWS keep Awan on her taxpayer funded payroll all the way up until the day he was arrested by the FBI at Dulles airport while trying to flee the country to Pakistan? What, if anything, does the Awan family know about the DNC hacks that may have caused DWS to act in this way?
Now, Andrew McCarthy III, the former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York who led the prosecution against Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman and eleven others for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, says there is "something very strange" about the recent indictment filed against Imran Awan and his wife Hina Alvi in the District of Columbia.
In a National Review article, McCarthy points out that it's not what's in the indictment that is necessarily surprising but rather what is seemingly intentionally omitted. For instance, McCarthy points out that "the indictment appears to go out of its way not to mention" that Imran was apprehended while in the process of fleeing the country, a fact that would seem to be the best evidence available to prove the fraud charges.

Valerie Plame Wilson fundraising to buy Twitter so she can delete Trump's account
Valerie Plame Wilson is fundraising to buy a controlling share of Twitter so that she can ban President Trump from the social media platform.
"From emboldening white supremacists to promoting violence against journalists, his tweets damage the country and put people in harm's way," Wilson wrote on her GoFundMe page. "But threatening actual nuclear war with North Korea takes it to a dangerous new level."
Wilson, who was revealed to be a covert CIA operations officer in a 2003 leak, slammed Twitter executives for ignoring calls to enforce the company's own community standards and delete Trump's account.
But Wilson's progress has been slow: She has raised almost $3,000 since the page was set up on Aug. 16, well short of her $1 billion target.

Hunt For Fugitives In HUD Homes Ended
A federal law enforcement program that led to the arrest of nearly 9,000 fugitives living illegally in taxpayer-funded public housing and wanted for rape, murder and other serious crimes quietly ended about five years ago, The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group has learned.
The Fugitive Felon Initiative – a partnership between the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Inspector General (IG), the U.S. Marshals Service and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) – ended around 2012, TheDCNF found. The U.S. Marshals confirmed the initiative no longer existed in its original form but claimed the partnership that uncovered close to 9,000 fugitives illegally receiving government aid had evolved to “routine information sharing.”
“The original [document] outlining the ‘initiative’ laid the groundwork for formally sharing information,” U.S. Marshals spokesman Dave Oney told TheDCNF. “That has evolved over time to routine information sharing. It is continuing as part of normal business now and is therefore not a special separate initiative. The ‘initiative’ laid the groundwork for what successfully continues today.”
However, more than “information sharing,” the Fugitive Felon Initiative specifically targeted dangerous fugitives residing in public housing.

Here's How The Next Recession Begins
In 1886 there were only 38 states in the United States.
Electric power was still cutting edge technology that few people had ever seen.
The Statue of Liberty hadn’t even been dedicated yet.
But it was that year that a man named Richard Sears founded a small retail company in Minneapolis, Minnesota that would grow into a retail juggernaut.
Sears was truly the Amazon of its day.
Even in the late 1800s the company was able to deliver just about any product you wanted right to your doorstep.

ARTIST’S RENDITION PORTRAYS THE REASON PRESIDENT TRUMP WAS ELECTED
Famous for his renditions of religious and patriotic imagery, American artist Jon McNaughton released a new painting, titled “You Are Not Forgotten,” on Tuesday. The work of art features President Trump and the “forgotten men and women” of America who helped usher him into the White House last November.
McNaughton produced a video highlighting his artwork and offered his thoughts behind the concept of the piece, saying he felt compelled to “speak forcefully” in support of President Trump and his agenda.
“When I decided to paint this picture, I wondered if this was taking it too far. But sometimes you have to speak forcefully, like the brush strokes of my painting,” said McNaughton. “Many Americans have felt forgotten by the establishment in Washington. I’m talking about the people who are more interested in themselves and their political careers.”

2018 Will Be A Bloodbath – For Democrats
As President Trump’s troubles mount, the long-standing expectation that Democrats will gain several House and Senate seats in 2018 has only intensified. At this point, many observers are expecting a bloodbath – and they’re right. But for structural, historical, and intangible reasons, expect the bloodbath to be for Democrats as the GOP further expands its dominance in both houses of Congress.
I see five reasons Democrats on Capitol Hill should stock up on life preservers.
1) Trump’s unpopularity won’t matter. Republicans and moderates who like Trump will vote Republican out sympathy with the president’s state of siege, but many of those who don’t like him will vote Republican as well. That’s because Americans tend to like “their guy” (or woman) in Washington whoever’s president and whatever the overall political climate.
The power of incumbency in Congress can’t be overstated – and of course it tends to favor the party already in power. In 2016, 97 percent of House members and 87 percent of Senators running for re-election won. Even in the “wave election” of 2014, the numbers were 95 percent and 82 percent, respectively.

This dad created an app that freezes your kids' phones until they answer your texts
Parents of teens know that cell phones can be a great way to keep in touch when their kids are out and about. That is, unless they get distracted and "forget" to respond, which leaves you in a state of panic. Luckily, one dad is here to help.
Nick Herbert created the app ReplyASAP after getting fed up with his son Ben ignoring his texts. The app takes over the phone's screen and sounds an alarm, essentially forcing teens to respond to their worrisome parents if they want to regain access to their phone. The app also notifies parents when their adolescent has seen their message.
"My son has an iPhone, but I still can't get hold of him very easily as it's always on silent because he is planning games or has been at school and forgotten to turn the sound back on," he explained to GoodHousekeeping.com. "There didn't seem to be a solution out there that allowed me to send a message to him, that would override the silent function, appear over whatever he was doing and tell me when he had seen it."

Professor: State Senate rule on Pledge of Allegiance might violate Constitution
DOVER — A rule in the state Senate requiring anyone in the chamber to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance may be unconstitutional, according to a law professor.
Included in the rules of the Senate, which are approved by members at the start of every two-years session, is a provision stating, “Any person on the chamber floor or in the balcony who is not a member of the Senate and who refuses to salute the American flag at the time such ceremony occurs shall leave the chamber floor or balcony.”
President Pro Tempore David McBride, D-Wilmington Manor, said the language was put in at his request, likely at some point in the 1980s.
“If you’re in the chamber, you have a responsibility … to salute the flag,” and anyone who wishes not to stand “should get out,” he said.
But that rule may violate the U.S. Constitution, according to Delaware Law School Dean Rod Smolla.

West Wing Dems’ Plan to Keep DACA Will Increase Illegal Immigration Pull Factors
A new McClatchy report has revealed that current White House staffers including John Kelly, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner are pushing the President to continue with amnesty for illegal immigrants in exchange for border wall funding as well as curbs on illegal immigration and the online ‘E-Verify’ system.
If the President accedes, this may be his ‘Merkel moment’ — reflective of the German chancellor who compromised on her nation’s borders and rule of law with her now infamous (and subsequently dropped) ‘We Can Do It’ call to let millions of migrants into Europe.
She didn’t just let them in, her policy encouraged them. One of the greatest ‘pull factors’ in Europe’s migrant crisis was the German leader’s abdication of her duties towards her nation. From failing to consult the German parliament, to claiming that a mass of economic migrants were in fact “Syrian refugees” fit for high-skilled labour, Merkel irrevocably changed the face of her nation in one fell swoop; something candidate Trump seemed to understand.
Far from being the doctors, nurses, or engineers she was claiming to open her arms to, employment and skill sets amongst recent migrants is devastatingly poor.

Antifa Site Posts Guide On How To Start Campus Anarchist Clubs
Anarchist and pro-Antifa site Its Going Down published a guide on how to start campus anarchist clubs Tuesday.
The article tells the first-person story of one anarchist college student who started an anarchist group at the University of North Carolina.
“It’s that time of year again, when students head back to school. With the government lurching towards tyranny and fascists killing people on the streets, it has never been more pressing to organize on campuses to promote self-determination and collective defense against oppression,” the author states.

Kelli Ward: ‘We Need a Clean Border Security Bill First and Foremost’
Dr. Kelli Ward, who is challenging incumbent Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) in the Republican primary, talked with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Tuesday regarding President Trump’s planned rally on Tuesday in Phoenix and Trump’s praise for her over Jeff Flake on Twitter.
She also discussed border security and Trump’s potential pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, which she supports.
Ward said, “In my campaign, border security and stopping illegal immigration is the number one issue, so I’m glad he’s getting down there and is going to get up close and personal with the border patrol and also see what is happening down in the Yuma sector, and then he’s going to be in Phoenix.”

Take The Left’s Race Card, And Shove It In Their Faces
So, why does this perverse distortion of race in America still dominate the media? Why does the Left and the self-defeating Democratic Party continue to play the race card, despite all the evidence among Republicans that we are the most diverse group of politicos out there? Left-wing activism is all about silencing people. That has been the goal of the Left since Saul Alinsky. They cannot debate, reason, or convince. They have to denounce, race-bait, and con people. That’s all they have.
Great. I’ve outlined the argument, but what’s the solution? How do we “trump” the race card, especially since it’s non-stop on the media?!
So, Step One: don’t stop speaking.

Navy Does Not Rule Out Intentional Act in Latest Warship Collision
The Navy has not ruled out an intentional action behind the latest deadly collision between a Navy destroyer and a merchant ship, the chief of naval operations told reporters Monday.
"That's is certainly something we are giving full consideration to but we have no indication that that's the case—yet," Adm. John Richardson, the CNO, said at the Pentagon.
"But we're looking at every possibility, so we're not leaving anything to chance," he said.
Asked if that includes the possibility the electronic defenses on the guided missile destroyer USS John S. McCain were hacked in a cyber attack, Richardson said investigators will look into all possible causes.
"We'll take a look at all of that, as we did with the Fitzgerald," the four-star admiral said, referring to another Navy warship collision with a merchant ship in June near Japan.

REMOVING MONUMENTS — WHERE DOES IT END?
In the aftermath of the Charlottesville tragedy, the debate over monuments to persons in America’s past has elevated to a point where, too often, folks are afraid to discuss for fear that their words will be misunderstood, misconstrued or deliberately distorted.
There’s a legitimate discussion to be had, in civil tones and terms, over which monuments should stay and where they should best be placed.
But the politicization of the subject has caused serious angst. For example, neo-Nazi racists are frequently referred to as “right wingers.” How is it possible to, with a straight face, describe national socialists bent on genocide as “conservatives”?
The conservative movement has loudly denounced these kooks for decades. Racism has no place in conservative thought and socialism has always been the province of the other team.
Hysteria gets whipped up at times when more reflection would do us all better.

Confederate statues aren't the only monuments people want torn down
It’s open season on statues.
Or so it seems: This month’s violence between white supremacists and counterprotestors over removing a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville, Va., has fast-tracked plans to take down some of the nation’s 718 memorials to the Confederacy. But it also has unleashed a rash of demands that long-standing and hitherto innocuous statues and memorials be destroyed.
Fox News has compiled a list of five memorials and monuments that are now alleged to be deeply offensive and in need of disposal.

DC research finds 'I spy' game can do wonders for babies
Playing 'I spy' with your newborn in the supermarket will do wonders for their minds.
According to a new study, infants who are encouraged to interact with stimulating, brightly-colored surroundings have far stronger brains than their peers - even before they have learned to speak or babble.
The researchers in Washington, D.C., said parents should forget garbling at their newborns in baby speak.
Instead, they should walk their baby through the grocery aisle, telling them that broccoli is green, radishes are red, and tangerines are orange.
By pushing them to connect the dots between language and environment early on, they will lay the groundwork for a smooth running neural network, and maximize their potential brain power later on in life.
The report, published today, also breaks down how playing music and introducing them to new people can be key for a baby's cognitive development.

Alt-Left Insanity: Liberals Vandalize, Attack, Riot and Burn, But Aren’t Violent
Ordinarily, this is a mostly fun column to point out how extremely whacky the alt-left is in America. We’ll get to that, but first, it’s important to know that the alt-left is also violent and dangerous.
The media have gone berserk, angry that President Trump dared call out the left for its own violent lunatics. “I do think there's blame on both sides. You look at both sides. I think there's blame on both sides and I have no doubt about it and you don't have any doubt about it either and- and- and- and if you reported it accurately, you would say it,” explained the president.
He’s right. The racists and the Antifa or antifascists both showed up in Charlottesville ready to fight. And though lots in the media pretend being “antifascist” is something honorable, Antifa is another part of left-wing thuggery. It is a big reason why the racist scum came armed, most likely.
This is the point where the virtue signalers demand that everyone hate Nazis. That’s like hating cancer. We all do. But I will take the ego plunge and quote my own Twitter account: “Nazis are awful. Racists are awful. #Antifa is awful. Political violence is awful. Why does saying that trigger so many in media?” There, the virtue signalers got their digital pound of flesh.
There’s a reason why this is important.

Parents Grill School Board Over Transgender Discussions In Kindergarten
The Rocklin (California) Academy school board is facing tough questions from parents concerned over a controversial incident involving transgender discussions inside a kindergarten class.
"These parents feel betrayed by the school district that they were not notified," said Karen England with the Capitol Resource Institute.
The incident happened earlier this summer during the last few days of the academic school year.
At Monday night's board meeting, the teacher at the center of the controversy spoke out. With emotions high, she addressed a packed house.
"I'm so proud of my students, it was never my intent to harm any students but to help them through a difficult situation," she said.
The teacher defended her actions to read two children's books about transgenderism including one titled "I am Jazz." She says the books were given to her by a transgender child going through a transition.
"The kindergartners came home very confused, about whether or not you can pick your gender, whether or not they really were a boy or a girl," said England.
"My daughter came home crying and shaking so afraid she could turn into a boy," another parent said.

If you want to know about the havoc being wreaked by the Deep State—anti-Trump troublemakers in the permanent federal bureaucracy—the man to ask is Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The soft-spoken Sessions doesn't normally give vent to his emotions, but he recently read his top staff the riot act about the actions of disloyal employees who are sabotaging Justice Department work.
According to a Justice Department source, Sessions slammed his hand on his desk during a meeting and declared: "I want these people behind bars!"
Most of the subversive employees are holdovers from the regimes of former Attorneys General Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, which I covered in my book, "Guilty as Sin."
They've been stealing files and shredding documents in an effort to impede Justice Department investigations of sanctuary cities and violent leftwing groups.
"In the past, there were incidents when anti-Vietnam war employees tried to destroy evidence against draft dodgers," the Justice Department source said. "But those were isolated incidents, and the perpetrators were quickly prosecuted and dismissed.
"But what's happening now at the Justice Department is a plague," the source continued. "Employees with access to secure government files have been deleting computer files and destroying evidence."

Rick Santorum Crafting Different Obamacare Repeal Plan with Lawmakers
Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Monday that he is working with a broad coalition of Republicans in both the House and Senate, along with several governors, to develop a new effort to repeal Obamacare.
The effort, which comes after serious tumult with prior legislation in both the House and the Senate, would devolve power over healthcare away from the federal government and back to the states. It would allow each of the 50 states to individually craft their own plans, and would mirror the effort led by Santorum in the mid-1990s which saw the only successful entitlement reform in the nation’s history.
During the administration of former President Bill Clinton, Santorum—then in Senate GOP leadership—devised a strategy to win bipartisan buy-in that Clinton signed ending guaranteed cash benefits in place since Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s presidency and devolved much welfare power back to the states. Since then, the Santorum-led reform—which was essentially block granted out—has held strong and not seen any significant problems.
This effort on healthcare, Santorum says, would mirror that effort: Allowing the states to handle these affairs to better custom-craft healthcare systems to the needs of their constituents.

Baltimore To Be Shut Out Of Army-Navy Game Through 2022
The Army-Navy football game will be played in Philadelphia four times from 2018-2022, returning to its most frequent host city and, for now, leaving Baltimore behind.
The academies held a news conference Tuesday at Philadelphia's City Hall to announce the site of the 2018, '19, '20 and '22 Army-Navy games. The Cadets and Midshipmen will play at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles.
"The legacy of the City of Brotherly Love and the home of Army-Navy continues to be the benchmark for hosting America's game," Naval Academy athletic director Chet Gladchuk said in a statement. "This tradition in Philly is so well received and embraced by the city and community that it remains a highlight of the season for the teams, alumni, and fans."

Neocons Love Trump's New Afghanistan Plan, Blackwater Calls It "Obama-Lite"
In an extended tweetstorm conccurrent with Trump's Monday night Afghanistan address, Ron Paul lashed out at the president, saying that at long last, Trump's neo-con nature had emerged. "Steve Bannon brakes removed. Neocons feeling their oats" and urging the public to "Beware! @LindseyGrahamSC loves Trump's speech! Why are arch-neocons celebrating so much? Very telling!." It appears that Paul's assessment of Trump's new strategy was not far off, because as the Hill reports today, the neoconservative wing of the Republican Party applauded President Trump’s troop surge in Afghanistan, even as members of the president’s base accused him of capitulating to the national security establishment.
Some of the loudest accolades came from foreign policy hawks in the Senate, including two of Trump’s fiercest GOP critics, Lindsey Graham and John McCain, who praised Trump for going against his “instinct” and delegating the decision to his generals, who convinced him that victory could be had in the 16-year war that has spanned three administrations.
“I’m proud. I’m relieved,” Graham said on Fox News after Trump’s Monday night address. “I’m proud of the fact that President Trump made a national security decision, not a political decision. I’m proud of the fact that he listened to the generals, and I’m most proud of the fact that he showed the will to stand up to radical Islam. I’m relieved he did not take the advice to withdraw, which would have been disastrous, or create a mercenary army, so I’m very pleased. Very thoughtful, very inspiring speech, and I can assure you a lot of people in Congress will be behind the president.”

Report: Teens Ditching Facebook
Teenagers are ditching Facebook in favor of other social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, according to a new report.
“Social networking leader Facebook will see its user growth continue to slow in both countries [United States and United Kingdom] as lessening usage among teens and young adults drags down overall user growth,” reported eMarketer this week. “eMarketer has reduced its usage estimates for US monthly Facebook users ages 12 to 17 and 18 to 24. Yet for the same age groups, we have kept unchanged or adjusted higher our usage estimates for Snapchat and Instagram, suggesting younger social network users are turning away from Facebook in favor of other platforms.”

Trump’s Afghan Speech Ignored Record Opium Profits Funding Taliban
U.S. President Donald Trump, while announcing on Monday his new strategy for dealing with the nearly 16-year-old war in Afghanistan, failed to explicitly address the historic levels of opium production there, a lucrative source of funding for the Taliban, the country’s leading terrorist organization.
According to U.S. Gen. John Nicholson, the top commander of American and NATO troops in Afghanistan, Taliban jihadists generate more than 60 percent of their funding from the cultivation and production of opium, the main ingredient in heroin.
Moreover, some officials have indicated that the illicit multi-billion-dollar poppy crop business in Afghanistan, the world’s top supplier of opium and heroin, is likely fueling the record number of deadly drug overdoses in the United States.

EXCLUSIVE: Keith Ellison Reveals Nancy Pelosi’s Real Views On Single-Payer [VIDEO]
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is more supportive of pursuing a single-payer health care system than she’s willing to publicly admit, deputy Democratic National Committee chair and Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison said in a video obtained by The Daily Caller.
“I believe in — I’m signed onto H.R. 676 which is a single-payer health care act. They call it Medicare for all. Yeah, universal health care. Real single-payer health care. I’m on that. But let me tell you this,” Ellison said at a local party meeting in Minnesota last Wednesday, partial video of which was obtained by TheDC.
Ellison asked if anybody was recording him before proceeding.
“Is anybody taping me right now? OK, so, you may have heard that Nancy [Pelosi] is not for it, but that’s not really true,” Ellison said. “Nancy has to represent a very diverse caucus. She does not like getting out ahead of the caucus too fast. So she’s trying to get, she’s, you know, you know, she actually likes the concept.”
“She’s trying to get, you know, you know, she actually likes the concept. She says it’s the best way to do it. She says it’s the cheapest way to do it, but she’s got to make sure that she brings our Blue Dog friends along,” Ellison added. “And by the way, for any of us progressives who get mad at the Blue Dogs, if we didn’t have them, some of them would be replaced by Republicans.”

Democrats warn Bannon against publishing classified information
Democrats have a warning for Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon: Don’t use your position at Breitbart to share classified and sensitive information you collected while at the White House.
"Steve Bannon has an ongoing obligation to safeguard our nation’s secrets, and he does not gain some kind of extra Constitutional protection just because he is now returning to a position in the media,” said Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., the senior Democrat on the House Oversight Committee.
Cummings said lawmakers closely watch people in such positions after they leave high level security positions. He said Bannon should not guide Breitbart to publish information based on classified material he learned while working for the president.
“If he or anyone else in a similar position fails to meet this obligation and provides classified information to someone who is not entitled to have it, he could and should be brought to justice,” he said.

Ohio city replaces Columbus Day with Indigenous People's Day

Not everyone was in favor of the resolution, saying Columbus Day is about more than just a man, it’s about culture.

Planned Parenthood Supporter Says Abortion Reduces Black Crime
A minority pro-life student says a Planned Parenthood supporter told her during a fundraiser that abortion is a good thing because it reduces black crime.
In a post at Students for Life of America (SFLA), Bethany Janzen, SFLA’s Rocky Mountain regional coordinator, writes that minority college student Kimberly was confronted by a “middle-aged white man who supports Planned Parenthood” when SFLA was protesting outside a Planned Parenthood fundraiser.
Janzen continues:
"[A] middle-aged white man who stopped with his family, inquiring why Kimberly, a minority graduate of a local university was holding a “We Don’t Need Planned Parenthood” sign. Kimberly explained that Planned Parenthood does abortions which end an innocent human life. His response? Abortion is good because the crime rate has lowered since the 60’s due to a reduction in black crime."
Kimberly said she told the man that about 66% of black children are aborted.
“I asked him if less black people meant less crime and he said that’s exactly what he meant,” Kimberly stated, Janzen reports.

Joy Ann Reid Spreads Unproven Rumor That Trump Campaign Hiring Black Actors For Phoenix Rally
MSNBC host and political analyst Joy Ann Reid is now spreading unverified internet rumors that fit her worldview.
Reid, who has a history of spreading misinformation, garnered thousands of retweets on Sunday by amplifying an unproven rumor that President Trump’s re-election campaign is hiring minority actors for Trump’s political rally in Phoenix on Tuesday.
Reid followed up with an “update” noting that the link had been deleted.
A left-wing activist was the first to claim that the Trump campaign is hiring minority actors for the campaign rally. The only basis for his claim was a since-deleted Craigslist advertisement soliciting actors.

Chief Obamacare Architect Sacked After Fraudulent Billing Investigation
Vermont’s Attorney General has settled the state’s claims of fraud against Jonathan Gruber, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor who served as a technical consultant for President Barack Obama and as one of the chief architects of Obamacare.
Under the terms of the settlement, Gruber will no longer work as a taxpayer-funded economic consultant for the state’s health care system and he won’t seek to be paid any money he might be owed, reports the Rutland Herald, a Vermont newspaper.
For its part under the agreement, the Vermont’s attorney general will not pursue legal action under the Vermont Civil False Claims Act.

Student loan debt crushing older Americans too
The crushing weight of student loan debt isn’t a problem affecting just younger Americans; a new study shows older Americans are shouldering an increasing share of the nation’s collective $1.34 trillion student loan debt.
According to a new report by FICO, the percentage of Americans ages 65 and older with student loan dues increased 300% from 2006 to 2016, compared to 100% for Americans ages 35-64. This statistic will continue to rise as the population ages and older employees turn to workforce retraining programs to learn new labor skills, the data analytics company estimates.
As previously reported by FOX Business, outstanding student loan debt has increased by more than 457% since 2003.

Ann Coulter Rips into Trump For Bannon Firing, Favoring 'Fake News Media' Over Conservative
Ann Coulter, the conservative firebrand who predicted Trump would win, much to the cackling laughter of the Bill Maher audience and panel, railed against Trump in an interview with Mark Simone.
Sounding despondent and admittedly 'depressed' over the recent firing of Steve Bannon, Coulter lashed out at the President, saying 'it's not a good idea to let the media know to manipulate him as President.' Coulter was referencing Trump's defensive posture and annoyance that Bannon had been credited with Trump's election win. Over the past half year, the media, including comedy outlets, had lampoonedTrump and Bannon -- painting Bannon as the true, yet sinister, mastermind behind Trump's success.
Coulter almost pined for the campaign era days of Trump, reflectively saying 'finally, after 30 years, we're gonna get a President not controlled by Goldman Sachs,' making reference to the Goldman alumni stacking Trump's cabinet.
Coulter threw down the gauntlet to Trump, saying, "if you really want to prove to us that Bannon had nothing to do with winning the nomination and then winning the Presidency, what you really want to do now is pedal to the metal on raising taxes on Wall Street (carried interest loophole), start deporting illegals, end NAFTA, bring the jobs back and build the wall."
Ann furthered, "and if he does all those things, okay, I'll say 'My gosh Mr. President you're right. Steve Bannon had nothing to do with your success.'"

Mr. Trash Wheel has collected over a million pounds of garbage from the Baltimore Harbor
The Baltimore Harbor used to be so cluttered with trash that locals, like John Kellett, said you could almost walk across sections of the harbor. It was a sight the sailor and engineer saw every day for 20 years until he decided to meet with the city of Baltimore and offer a solution to clean up the waterway.
Kellett's solution is an eco-friendly, floating structure named "Mr. Trash Wheel." Powered by solar panels and water, Mr. Trash Wheel sits at the end of the Jones Falls River where the river's current turns a windmill-sized metal water wheel that rotates gears and chains to funnel garbage onto a conveyor belt and then into a dumpster. The idea is to detour drifting debris before it enters into the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Polish Minister Rages At Spanish Attacks: Europeans Must "Wake Up" To This "Clash Of Civilizations"
Europe must "wake up," urges Poland initerior minister Mariusz Blaszczak, telling state TV that "we are dealing with a clash of civilazations," where Muslim enclaves form “support bases” for terrorists.
The official, a member of the ruling rightwing Law and Justice Party (PiS), said he asked his country’s security services what they were doing to prevent similar incidents and noted that Poland is safe because “we do not have Muslim communities which are enclaves, which are a natural support base for Islamic terrorists.”
A “possibility” to prevent terrorism is closing in Europe, according to the minister. As RT reports, Blaszczak also lashed out at the refugee resettling scheme in the EU, claiming it's “encouraging millions of people to come to Europe,” and that would effectively have tragic consequences.

Carlson: Bannon One of Few in Trump WH Who 'Wouldn’t Feel at Home' Working for Hillary Clinton
Friday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson reacted to Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon’s departure from the White House earlier in the day.
Carlson said while the West Wing may be a “more placid place” now, there were questions about the politics of those by which President Donald Trump is surrounded in Bannon’s absence.
“The White House will be a much more placid place now that he’s gone,” Carlson said. “The question is will it be a better place? Let’s put it this way — Bannon was one of the relatively few senior staff in the White House who wouldn’t feel at home in a Hillary Clinton administration. Indeed, he was one of the rare Republicans there and the only, or one of the very few, populist conservatives. That’s strange since populist conservatism is the platform his boss ran on.”

Speaking in a discussion on Fox News with anchor Martha MacCallum on the departure of Mr Bannon from the White House, Mr Kassam said the move didn’t mean there had been a falling out between the President and the returning Breitbart boss.
Kassam told Fox host Sandra Smith that “This isn’t about Bannon versus Trump, the two are on the same page. This is about the people who Steve sees as trying to stop the Trump agenda”.

The VA Can’t Provide Cannabis to Veterans With PTSD, so This Group Gives It Out for Free
Once a month, staff members at the Santa Cruz Veterans Alliance(SCVA) fill more than 100 brown paper bags with high-quality medical cannabis and pass them out for free at a local community center. For the military veterans who receive it—many of whom struggle with PTSD—the medical cannabis acts as a lifeline to health.
The SCVA, which operates out of an old office in a Santa Cruz neighborhood, has been serving local men and women since 2011, when the organization was founded by military veterans Aaron Newsom and Jason Sweatt.
After six years of service, though, SCVA’s mission now faces challenges due to an ironic new development: the legalization of cannabis in California. New regulations due to take effect in early 2018 don’t allow the SCVA to continue operating as they do today.

You've been eating superfood avocados all wrong
Multiple scientific studies have linked avocados with health benefits ranging from anti-ageing to warding off cancer.
But new research suggests we're eating them all wrong - and throwing out part of it that's a 'gold mine' of powerful protective nutrients.
In the first study of its kind, scientists have discovered that the seed husks - which are usually discarded along with the seed - are rich in medicinal compounds that could prevent the growth of malignant tumours and the build-up of fat inside our arteries.
These could be used to improve treatments for cancer, heart disease and a host of debilitating diseases.
Experts say the least appreciated part of the trendy fruit could soon undergo a 'trash-to-treasure' transformation and as well as being used in medicine could enhance cosmetics, perfumes and other consumer goods.
Experts believe the findings could one day lead to the creation of supplements made from the husk rather than consuming it as opinion is currently divided over how safe this actually is.
