3 US College Students Killed In Dhaka Attack

Three U.S. college students were among those killed in Bangladesh after a terror attack at an artisan bakery in Dhaka’s diplomatic district late Friday.

Islamic State gunmen stormed the bakery and reportedly singled out foreigners who could not recite the Islamic Koran.

Emory University confirmed two of their students, Abinta Kabir and Faraaz Hossain, were among the victims. Kabir was a rising sophomore who was visiting family and friends when she was taken hostage and killed. Faraaz was a junior from Dhaka who graduated from Emory’s Oxford College and was attending its Goizueta Business School.

Trump Tweets 'System Is Totally Rigged' at Report Hillary Walks

Hours after FBI agents interviewed her at the bureau’s Washington headquarters for three hours Saturday, sources inside the Department of Justice are spreading the word high and low that Hillary Clinton will not be indicted for her private email server and handling of classified materials outside of secure government channels.

According to multiple media outlets DOJ sources said the FBI investigation marks the end of the probe and there will be no indictment.

It was an investigation FBI Director James Comey told reporters May 11 that he was watching personally. “I remain close to that investigation, to ensure that it’s done well and has the resources that are needed.”

Records: Father of toddler attacked at Disney by alligator said two gators involved

The father of the 2-year-old boy who was killed in an alligator attack near Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa told officials a second gator was involved, records show.

In public records released this week, Capt. Tom Wellons with the Reedy Creek Fire Department emailed two supervisors about his interaction with the child's father, Matt Graves, the morning after Lane Graves went missing.

Wellons said he was examining Matt Graves' injuries early on the morning of June 15 and told him he needed stitches and antibiotics since he had lacerations from the gator's teeth.

Wellons said Graves "refused to leave" the area, but he was finally able to persuade him and told him he could come back after getting medical treatment, an email shows.

Dog Found Near Upper Ferry Road: UPDATE

Hi Joe,

There is an old brown dog on north upper ferry road at 5 pm today. Police were called and stayed with the dog. This was the picture. Humane society is being called. Dog has green collar no tag. Looks like shock collar. Old dog, curly tail, bent ears. Tried to catch but ran away.

Woman gets blood poisoning after kissing dog

The next time Fido comes in for a kiss, you may want to think twice before letting him lick your face. A new case from BMJ Case Reports reported that a 70-year-old woman was infected with sepsis, likely from her Italian greyhound. Although no scratch or bite was found, doctors noted that “close petting including licks was reported,” according to the study.

Capnocytophaga canimorsus septicaemia, a bacterium, is frequently isolated in the oral cavities of dogs and cats. While rare, it typically causes infection after a dog bite, making this case unusual, study authors noted.

"Vince Foster's Ghost" Reappears - A Blast From The Archive Past

Just a month after Trump called out the Vince Foster "suicide" as "very fishy" to say the least, the documentary "Foster's Ghost" has resurfaced from the archives, detailing the unusual situation surrounding the death of Bill Clinton's best friend and personal lawyer...

According to the WaPo, "Trump said another topic of potential concern is the suicide of former White House aide Vincent Foster, which remains the focus of intense and far-fetched conspiracy theories on the Internet."

Conspiracy theory or not, the issue of Foster's death may just hit a live nerve in the Clinton campaign, something that is the ultimate goal of Trump.

One issue on Trump’s radar is the 1993 death of Foster, which has been ruled a suicide by law enforcement officials and a subsequent federal investigation. But some voices on the far right have long argued that the Clintons may have been involved in a conspiracy that led to Foster’s death.

He called theories of possible foul play “very serious” and the circumstances of Foster’s death “very fishy.”

"He had intimate knowledge of what was going on,” Trump said, speaking of Foster’s relationship with the Clintons at the time. "He knew everything that was going on, and then all of a sudden he committed suicide."

He added, "I don’t bring [Foster’s death] up because I don’t know enough to really discuss it. I will say there are people who continue to bring it up because they think it was absolutely a murder. I don’t do that because I don’t think it’s fair."

Fundraising galas pose more trouble for Clinton Foundation

Non-profit formed by Bill not registered to receive tax-deductible gifts

NEW YORK –
State regulators should shut down gala fundraisers planned by an organization closely tied to former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Foundation, charges Wall Street analyst and investor Charles Ortel.

The American India Foundation, for which Bill Clinton serves as honorary chairman, has fundraisers scheduled in Maryland, Virginia and Illinois, but the organization is not registered in these states as a non-profit with authority to raise tax-deductible charitable donations, Ortel contends.

“In numerous states, it is a criminal felony for an organization holding itself out as a non-profit organization duly authorized to raise tax-deductible charitable donations without first registering in the state as a charity,” Ortel explained to WND.

Officials: Man held in Oregon farm shooting deported 6 times

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Mexican national charged with aggravated murder in the shooting deaths of three people at a rural Oregon blueberry farm had been deported six times, most recently in 2013, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Bonifacio Oseguera-Gonzalez, 29, has no significant prior criminal convictions, but ICE asked Oregon authorities to turn him over to them if he's released from custody in the current case, the agency said in a statement to The Associated Press on Friday.

Oseguera-Gonzalez pleaded not guilty to three counts of aggravated murder and one count of attempted murder Tuesday in Marion County Superior Court.

His attorney, Deborah Burdzik, did not immediately return a call seeking comment about his immigration status.

Senator Admits The FBI Is "About To Ask Putin For His Copies Of Hillary's Emails"

It is well known that the FBI still does not have roughly 30,000 emails that Hillary Clinton deleted from her private server due to Clinton categorizing them as personal and not work related. We have also reported that Russia may be in possession of those emails, and according to Judge Andrew Napolitano, there is a debate going on in the Kremlin about whether or not to release them.

Given that the FBI still doesn't have the emails, Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton (of the US is "under-incarcerated" fame), who is a Trump supporter and also serves on the Senate Intelligence Committee, has become so frustrated that Cotton suggests the FBI is about to ask Putin for his copies. Cotton also took a jab at Bill Clinton's meeting with Loretta Lynch, saying that his plane was also on the tarmac, and he thought Bill Clinton may be waiting to climb on board to talk with him as well.

How this heartbroken dad ended up in cuffs at the Holland Tunnel

“I’m not a vigilante or terrorist — I’m a father.”

That’s the mantra of John Cramsey, who spoke exclusively to The Post about the daughter he lost to a drug overdose in February — a tragedy that sparked his crusade to save other addicts from the same fate.

Cramsey, 50, was arrested June 21 on one of those rescue missions while driving a souped-up SUV toward the Holland Tunnel, loaded with a cache of weapons.

A die-hard Second Amendment supporter and owner of an indoor gun range, Cramsey now sits in the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny, NJ, on $75,000 bail.

But his brush with the law has not dimmed his passion for his mission.

In two jailhouse phone interviews with The Post, he revealed the anguish of losing his model daughter Alexandria “Lexii” Cramsey, 20, and his determination to help others like her.

Suicide bombers hit three Saudi cities

Suicide bombers struck three cities across Saudi Arabia on Monday, in an apparently coordinated campaign of attacks as Saudis prepared to break their fast on the penultimate day of the holy month of Ramadan.

The explosions targeting U.S. diplomats, Shi'ite worshippers and a security headquarters at a mosque in the holy city of Medina follow days of mass killings claimed by the Islamic State group, in Turkey, Bangladesh and Iraq. The attacks all seem to have been timed to coincide with the approach of Eid al-Fitr, the holiday that celebrates the end of the fast.

A Saudi security official said an attacker parked a car near the U.S. consulate in Jeddah before detonating the device. The official said the government was checking the reports of blasts in Qatif and Medina.

In the only one of the three attacks that appeared to have caused many casualties, a suicide bomber detonated a bomb near the security headquarters of the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, the second-holiest site in Islam.

Trump victory would wound drug cartels

Illegals aren’t the only worry Americans encounter with open borders

The two groups with the most to lose with a Donald Trump victory on Nov. 8 would be the Mexican drug cartels and their Chinese suppliers. The reason is pretty simple: Mr. Trump has made securing the border his principal campaign theme. If the border is secured by a wall or some combination of means against the flood of illegal aliens and potential terrorists, then it automatically puts a major hit on the flow of narcotics across the border. If they can’t get the illegals in, they can’t get the dope in, either.

Absent the threat of a Trump victory in November, the Mexican drug cartels and their Chinese suppliers must have a bounce in their step these days. To begin with, even if we didn’t have open borders as de-facto administration policy, the reality that heroin and other illegal drugs from Mexico are widely available and cheap would confirm that the doors are open. There is more than enough supply available on street corners from coast to coast.

Second, while the old standbys, cocaine and methamphetamines, are perking along quite nicely from the cartels’ viewpoint, the United States is about to receive a tsunami of heroin as new Mexican poppy production goes online this year. By the time President Obama leaves office, Mexican poppy production will have tripled from the George W. Bush days, and there seems to be no administration interest or program to deal with it.

Police Refuse To Protect Florida Mosque Helping FBI With Pulse Shooting Investigations

Ever since the tragic shooting of 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida occurred earlier this month, members of a tiny mosque the gunman attended in Fort Pierce have been cooperating with the FBI and local police to assist with ongoing investigations, even as the center endures a rash of hateful visits and phone calls. Yet despite their efforts, worshippers say authorities are refusing to provide the community with a security detail.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, members of the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce condemned the shooter and planned a blood drive to help the victims, releasing a statement saying they “repudiat[ed] anyone or any group that would claim to justify or excuse such an appalling act of violence.” But as the days waned on, members grew worried of anti-Muslim revenge attacks on the house of worship.

Their concerns proved to be prescient: According to Wilfredo Ruiz, a spokesman for the St. Pierce mosque who also happens to be communications director of the Florida chapter of the Center for American Islamic Relations (CAIR), it wasn’t long before mosque members encountered Islamophobic hate.

“Incidents started to happen — people started to drive by and shout racial slurs,” Ruiz told ThinkProgress. “And last Friday, when worshippers were exiting their services during the rain, cars were driving by splashing them.”

The 'New' DNC Platform Includes $15 Minimum Wage & Free College

If the Democrats plan to defeat Donald Trump in the general election, Hillary Clinton needs to win over all of those voters who supported Bernie Sanders throughout the Democratic campaign. As we noted just weeks ago, the Vermont Senator - and by extension his supporters - wasn't sold on Hillary's ability to move in the direction that was necessary.

Recall, below is what Sanders had to say about wanting his 12 million supporters to be heard:

"Look we got 12 million votes during our campaign. We received the lion's share of young people who are prepared to stand up and fight for real change in this country, that's what we are bringing in to the Democratic convention. What do we want in return, we want our 12 million supporters to be heard."

The Democratic National Committee unveiled a draft of its party platform on Friday, it is evident that the DNC is focused on convincing those millions of Sanders supporters that it is serious about addressing their concerns. As Politico reports, the draft, which was approved by 13 of the 15 members on the drafting committee, calls for a $15 minimum wage, free community college and abolition of the death penalty.

Photos: Dogs hitch ride on Prince George’s Co. fire truck

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County firefighters are calling it a “Dog day of summer” after giving three dogs a ride home aboard a fire truck in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

It started Saturday morning outside a Home Depot in Oxon Hill. Firefighters showed up to check on a man complaining about chest pains, but they learned he wasn’t really sick.

Instead he told firefighters “he had been drinking and he was intoxicated,” according to fire department spokesman Mark Brady. They tried to offer him a ride to get checked out by doctors, but it turns out he just really wanted to go home.

“But we couldn’t just let him drive away in his condition,” said Brady. Police convinced the man to walk, but Brady said there was some concern about him walking home with the three dogs.

“So the firefighters offered to take the three dogs home with them on board their fire engine,” Brady said. “They did so. The dogs were very good-natured. They seemed to enjoy the ride in the different type of vehicle. Holding their heads out the window of a fire truck is something different you don’t see every day going down the road.”

When the Revolutionary War came to Norfolk

The Revolutionary War comes to Norfolk

Fall of 1775
Virginia is under the control of the Colonial Governor Lord Dunmore, who was using Norfolk as his land base of operations in the region. The population of Norfolk, once the largest borough in the province, has been greatly reduced. Patriots are leaving to join the militia and their families are scattering to nearby counties for safety.

Norfolk’s printing press seized

September 1775
John Holt, a printer and editor of a local newspaper, uses his publication to urge the remaining citizens of Norfolk to fight for their liberties and to put up a struggle against Lord Dunmore. In late September 1775, Dunmore sends his troops to Norfolk and seizes Holt’s printing press. In response to the citizens who protest the act, Dunmore states, “I could not have done the people a greater service than by depriving them of the means of having their minds poisoned and of exciting in them the spirit of rebellion and sedition.”

When they lose to the Americans, the Brits retreat to their ships anchored in the Norfolk harbor. Hundreds of Tory sympathizers from Norfolk and the adjoining areas also take shelter aboard the ships. The borough of Norfolk is now under the control of Virginia forces.

Clinton's Son-in-Law Lost CalPERS Money Betting Greek Bonds

Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appears to have sought inside information on a potential European Union bailout as her son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky, speculated on defaulting Greek bonds in 2012 with CalPERS’ public pension cash as his hedge fund was getting wiped out.

Fox News reported late last week that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who served from January 21, 2009 and until stepping down on February 1, 2013 in advance of her run for president, sought “secret info on European Union bailout plans as [her] son-in-law’s doomed hedge fund gambled on Greece.”

A former Goldman Sachs broker, Mezvinsky formed the Eaglevale Partners hedge fund in October 2011 with two ex-Goldman Sachs partners. Eaglevale was incorporated in the secretive tax haven of the Cayman Islands in October 2011, then immediately named Goldman Sachs as its prime broker and banker.

Eaglevale would raise $325 million from CalPERS and others through a “special arrangement” with Goldman Sachs to engage in a “global macro” strategy to seek profit from opportunities in “politically volatile situations.”

Colorado city to stop selling ice cream at pools, parks

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Boulder residents will no longer be able to cool off with an ice cream cone by the pool because the city has discontinued the sweet treat as a vending option at all Parks and Recreation facilities.

The city dropped ice cream cones, bars and sandwiches in an effort to cut down on sugary, unhealthy snacks, The Daily Camera reported (http://bit.ly/29c8YoD). City-run facilities can only sell treats that satisfy a series of nutritional standards, meaning chips and other junk food also left snack stands this year.

The change hasn’t been welcomed by everyone. Andrew Gafford, 8, said he has always spent his summers enjoying a Neapolitan ice cream sandwich at the pool.

“I’ll get over it, but then it brings back a lot of memories of me getting ice cream sandwiches,” Andrew said. “Like this one time, when I was eating one very slowly, so it melted all over me. It makes me feel sad to say.”

Loretta Lynch falls under the Clintons’ corrupting influence

She can’t help herself. Even yesterday, with the political world fixated on her meeting with FBI agents, Hillary Clinton had her flack mislead the public.

A spokesman said she gave a “voluntary” interview, which is true only because she agreed to talk instead of waiting to be subpoenaed. The flack also said she was “pleased” to assist the gumshoes.

Who believes she was “pleased” to be interviewed by the FBI in a criminal investigation that could upend her life?

But that’s the way the Clintons roll.

Wherever they go, whatever they do, ethics are trashed and suspicions of criminal conduct follow them like night follows day.

Mosby Under Pressure As Rice Trial Begins

Pre-trial motions for Baltimore City Police Lt. Brian Rice are scheduled for Tuesday morning, with Rice's trial scheduled to begin on Wednesday.

Rice faces manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of misconduct in office in the death of Freddie Gray.

Rice's trial begins two weeks after Judge Barry Williams acquitted Officer Caesar Goodson on charges related to Gray's death, and about two months after Williams acquitted Officer Edward Nero.

Rice was the bike patrol officer who spotted Gray and two other other officers in April of last year, and began chasing Gray, after Gray ran away.

Rice is one of five officers suing Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby and Baltimore City Sheriff Major Sam Cogen for wrongful arrest and prosecution.

Rush: We're Being Played by the Clintons

RUSH: Okay, folks, I'm gonna tell you what I think is actually going on here. I think we are being played in the standard, common, everyday way the Clinton team plays the American people. It has happened, I can't count the number of times, dating back to when Bill Clinton was in the White House.

Essentially what this is -- and the Lynch-Clinton meeting is the latest ingredient -- we're being set up for massive disappointment, depression, and dispiritedness. They're making it look like, and they have all along, very possible Hillary Clinton could be indicted. They are toying with us. They're dangling this carrot in front us. "This could be the time. This could be it when we finally get the Clintons once and for all."

They drag it out, and they do things like this meeting that apparently compromises the whole thing and jeopardizes the whole thing, release information on all the emails they're finding and Hillary's IT takes the Fifth 125 times. Ask yourself, how many times do people ask you, "Do you really think Hillary's gonna be indicted?" And they say it with anticipation and excitement. How many times do people ask you that? They ask me that all the time.

My answer, by the way, from the get-go has always been, "She's not gonna be indicted. There's no way it's gonna happen. You don't understand the Democrat Party and their use of power if you think their presidential nominee is gonna be indicted by an Obama DOJ. Ain't gonna happen."

But they got a lot of people thinking it will, and when she skates, they want you depressed, they want you down in the dumps, they want you giving up, they want you thinking there's no way you can win.

Sonnie Johnson on Blacks for Donald Trump: ‘We Want Greatness; We Do Not Want Free Sh*t’

Podcaster and blogger Sonnie Johnson was having a pretty good time with this year’s BET Awards until Jesse Williams took the stage, as she told SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon on Friday’s Breitbart News Daily.

As Johnson pointed out, Jesse Williams has “a white mother and a black father – and that is what the Left has spent their time talking about, while the Right is talking about how divisive he is. And lost in this process are black people.”

She said she wrote her article to “reach those people, telling them the honest truth about why we cannot get problems solved in the black community.”

At WWII Memorial, a complicated question: To wade or not to wade?

The summer sun is blazing down, and at the National World War II Memorial, shade is hard to come by. You stare at the inviting pool, the jets of cool water spurting from the memorial’s fountain beckon you forward. Do you dip your toes in or, better yet, wade in for relief from the heat?

You could, but you would be violating National Park Service rules — as signs at the memorial clearly state. And, in the minds of some, it is also tacky and disrespectful.

Washington is a city of memorials — somber places where we reflect on who we are and those who have perished fighting for the nation’s ideals. It is also a city full of tourists on Segways and hordes of school kids in matching uniforms. Every day, those two worlds collide. How, exactly, is one supposed to strike the delicate balance between relaxed vacationing and respectful, dignified reflection?

Massive Coal Company Blames Obama For Massive Layoffs

Company officials said it anticipates “massive workforce reductions in September.”

Murray’s owner, Robert Murray, is a stalwart supporter of Donald Trump and a fierce critic of President Barack Obama.

Kids don jail-issue jumpsuits, spend the night at Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Tent City

As the sun set over Tent City, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office buses rumbled around a corner and squealed to a halt at the entrance.

The door of one opened as the dust swirled. Feet hit the ground, followed by a trill of giggles and chatter.

A parade of children and teenagers emerged, each wearing a striped, awkwardly baggy jail-issue jumpsuit.

These kids, ages 9 to 18, are participants in a two-day program, Camp Summer Stars, hosted by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, with an overnight stay in Tent City.

The words “summer camp” and “Tent City” might not seem like a perfect match, but the Sheriff's Office pitches the program as a way to encourage Arizona youth to stay out of trouble as children and into their adult lives.

Participants stayed Thursday night in a designated area away from inmates. The goal: teaching them about life at the notorious Tent City and how to avoid ending up there down the road.

On Thursday, about 60 participants attended classes about drug and alcohol prevention and got a taste of jail food. The consensus, they said? It's gross

Dems drop requirement to learn English for amnesty

In contrast to the traditional notion that immigrants should be required to learn the dominant language of a nation, the 2016 draft of the Democratic Party platform no longer recommends undocumented immigrants learn English as a condition of amnesty in the U.S.

In contrast, the 2012 version of the document included the need for comprehensive immigration reform, but specified undocumented immigrants should “get right with the law, learn English, and pay taxes in order to get on a path to earn citizenship.”

The 2008 Democratic Party platform was even more firm on requirements for citizenships, stating: “We support a system that requires undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, pay taxes, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.”

These recommendations are unpopular with Hispanics and immigrant-rights groups at a time when the Democratic Party needs the Hispanic vote, widely perceived as crucial for key swing states such as Colorado, Nevada and Florida.

“CNN has previously reported no charges were expected to be brought against Clinton,” noted CNN, “because the investigators had not found evidence to warrant charges, according to multiple law enforcement officials. A Democrat close to Clinton said Saturday the campaign believes the FBI will announce its decision before the conventions. … Sources familiar with the investigation had previously told CNN the Justice Department’s aim was to wrap up before the Republican and Democratic conventions later this month. The timing is crucial, because if Clinton were to be indicted before the convention, Democrats could perhaps nominate another candidate.”

Audit finds flaws in Md. child care facility background checks

The audit, conducted by the state’s Department of Legislative Services, examines records from 2011 through 2014.

It claims the Education Department does not have an adequate process in place to ensure that background checks, required by state law, are obtained for all child care workers.

Out of nine employees examined in the audit, there was no record that a background check had been performed on two of them.

In another case, records showed an employee’s background check had been received and reviewed, but there was no documentation to substantiate that.

Health officials tell The Baltimore Sun (http://tinyurl.com/z8374lm) that all the cases were travel-related and no one has contracted Zika from being bitten by a mosquito in the state. However, if a mosquito bites an infected person and then bites someone else, the disease can spread.

Health and Mental Hygiene Secretary Van Mitchell says in a statement that the department is trying to prevent such occurrences.

When Government Controls All Wealth

Sliding Into Absurdity

Stock markets continued their rebound to almost erase all Brexit losses. London’s FTSE 100 Index is above Brexit levels but Europe’s equivalent of the Dow, the Euro Stoxx 50, remains lower.

Investors have realized Brexit isn’t the end of the world. First, because they think it won’t really happen. After all, elites can fix elections, buy politicians, and control public policy… surely, they can fix this!

A letter in the Financial Times reminds us that Swedish voters cast their ballots against nuclear power in 1980. The government just ignored them, doubling nuclear power generation over the next 36 years.

Second, because investors see the panic over Brexit leading to more spirited intervention by central banks! The EZ money floodgates – already wide open – are to be opened wider.

The U.S. has its QE program on hold, but Europe’s scheme is gushing like Niagara. Mario Draghi at the European Central Bank buys $90 billion a month in bonds. And he’s not only buying government bonds; he’s buying corporates, too.

Less Than Zero

In Japan, always a trendsetter, the Bank of Japan has bought so many bonds it has pushed Japanese government bond yields below zero – out to more than 45 years on the yield curve!

In other words, you can now lend to the bankrupt Japanese government until 2051 with no hope of making a single yen, nominally, on your investment. Now, with bonds stacking up in their vaults, the Japanese feds are diversifying. They’re buying exchange-traded funds (ETFs), too.

Who's on First?

Absolutely Brilliant ! ! !

COSTELLO:  I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America  .

ABBOTT: Good Subject.  Terrible Times.  It's 5.6%.

COSTELLO:  That many people are out of work?

ABBOTT: No, that's 23%.

COSTELLO: You just said 5.6%.

ABBOTT:  5.6% Unemployed.

COSTELLO:  Right 5.6% out of work.

ABBOTT: No, that's 23%.

COSTELLO: Okay, so it's  23% unemployed.

ABBOTT: No, that's 5.6%.

COSTELLO:  WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 5.6% or 23%?

ABBOTT: 5.6% are unemployed.  23% are out of work.

COSTELLO: If you are out of work you are unemployed.

ABBOTT:  No, Obama said you can't count the "Out of Work" as the unemployed.  You have to look for work to be unemployed.

COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!

ABBOTT: No, you miss his point.

COSTELLO:  What point?

ABBOTT:  Someone who doesn't look for work can't be counted with those who look for work.  It wouldn't be fair.

COSTELLO: To whom?

ABBOTT: The unemployed.

COSTELLO: But ALL of them are out of work.

ABBOTTNo, the unemployed are actively looking for work.
Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.

COSTELLO: So if you're off the unemployment roles that would count as less unemployment?

ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!

COSTELLOThe unemployment just goes down because you don't look for work?

ABBOTTAbsolutely it goes  down. That's how it gets to 5.6%. Otherwise it would be 23%.

COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?

ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.

COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?

ABBOTT: Correct.

COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?

ABBOTT: Bingo.

COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to have people stop looking for work.

ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like a Democrat.

COSTELLO:  I don't even know what the hell I just said!

ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like Hillary.
