CITY HOLDS “3RD FRIDAY” EVENT
Salisbury Mayor James Ireton, Jr., invites the public to downtown Salisbury this Friday, July 17th, to join in and support the first “3rd Friday” celebration, beginning at 5:00pm.
Everyone can eat, drink, shop, and enjoy art and entertainment. Many of the downtown businesses will be participating. Take advantage of food and drink specials, discounts, and live music. The Art Institute and Gallery will feature special art exhibits. Parker Place will host Clay-ala-palooza, by the Clay Guild of the Eastern Shore. They will have pottery demonstrations and “make and take” for the kids.

This event, sponsored by Urban Salisbury and the Arts and Entertainment Steering Committee, is part of the Renaissance of Downtown Salisbury.

It's a start. Come have some fun, or quit complaining and let the rest of us enjoy.
The clay group has the best show of the year at this event. It's a "not to be missed." Great prices, local artisans, I guarantee a good time for any lover of hand crafted arts.

urban salisbury should be spending money doing something productive, not something last minute and half-baked. i guess the plan to actually alter the landscape of downtown and improve the safety is not as much fun as a slapdash party.

i posted one, and i don't know who lynn cathart is. i assume someone in government you don't like.
you chose not to post my reply that there are many far more organized events locally that people could be attending that aren't a big waste. i guess you assumed it was from the old mayor. in any event, urban salisbury PROMISED big changes, not yet another stupid non-festival. i called several places downtown today to ask who, what, where, and would there be bands? where and when? i repeatedly heard opposing stories and confusion.

If Salisbury Taxpayer knew anything about downtown revitalization or urban salisbury, he/she wouldn't have posted such a dumb remark.
Stay home ST. Pay your taxes. There are people who are trying to make things better. You're not one of them.

That's a good idea, I haven't tried it yet and that would draw me there for sure. I'll be there.
Good move Jim, Salisbury needs to heal and move on. The bitterness of the last election almost matches that of the presidential election of 2000.
It's time to move forward.
How could anyone have a problem with a regularly occurring downtown event, meant to spur more people into involvement?
