Stop The Coronabailout From Raining Your Money On Corporate Lobbyists Instead Of Struggling Americans

Congressional leaders are likely to put a very ugly deal in front of the American people, and if it passes, America may be unrecognizable after this pandemic. But there is a way to stop it, if people on the populist left and people on the populist right work together.

Here’s the situation. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and the Trump administration are negotiating a bailout package to address the coronavirus crisis. There’s been a lot of chatter about the need to support workers as the economy goes into a freeze. This is happening around the world; the British government, for instance, is willing to pay 80 percent of worker wages during this downturn for those affected by the crisis.

But in the United States, our leaders seem to be falling prey to what can only be called a corporate frenzy of favor-seeking. “Any time there is a crisis and Washington is in the middle of it is an opportunity for guys like me,” said one lobbyist.

But if corporations go belly up, there won’t be any jobs for people too return to once this virus does disappear.

What’s the point of bailing people out if we don’t bail businesses out so the have a job to come back to ?

THANK YOU. This needs to be shared. $40 billion for airlines who have been buying back their own stock with profits rather than letting it trickle down to their workers. 9:56 you are correct however there needs to be accountability for where that free money is spent. The problem with the most recent bill is that it is a give-away at the Treasury Departments discretion. No accountability, no prohibiting corporations from pocketing money and laying off workers just the same.

Everybody loves capitalism until it causes a failure right. Then we use socialist policies and big government and no one bats an eye.

Both systems have enormous fatal flaws

This past January the airline industry reported record profits for 2019. They even gave employees 1 to 2 months salary bonuses as a reward and share of the profits.
Now they want a bailout? Where did the rest of the money go???

Shouldn't go to union pensions, abortion funding or student debt either.

Looks as though no one is going to get anything. Wrecking the economy will kill more people than any stupid virus ever could.
