Where is the goof who held up donating to the Red Cross as a commendable deed (as opposed to the Christians who were merely doing it for evil, selfish, misleading reasons)?
Where ya at, son???

Also time for the IRS to revise the mandatory giving of a non profit from 5% to at least 90%.

I gave up locally on the united way years ago . for every dollar they get they only use .09 for the good. I laugh at all the delmarva businesses that ask their employees to donate to them as from a return on investment point it's a bad business decision to donate.

This needs to be exposed all across the world!

If these figures are accurate it makes one sick, for years we gave to the United Way after my husband's retirement I only give through my Church for benefits like Hurricane Irma and where I could trust it was going.

The County Human Resources has sponsored organized donation drives for the United Way for years utilizing work hours for all departments. Wonder what the benefit is. Hmmmm

Red Cross needs to be INVESTIGATED.

Wicomico County Public Schools is ramming United Way down their employees throats. Not only did United Way attend the Back to School Kick off at the Civic Center, but they are visiting every school.

Don't find the March of Dimes CEO in the same league as the others. Don't believe a lot of these charities classify their spending by " for the needy". Most use the designation of "program" or "mission" and those numbers would be much higher percentage of dollar. It is hard to capture how much of the program dollars go to the "needy". By the way - who are the truly "needy" these days? Working poor and even middle class certainly need help in this environment!

We had a very critical child years ago and stayed at a Ronald McDonald house. I have to say those were the most compassionate and giving individuals I have ever met. I will forever donate to them.

Yes, media keeps promoting the jackal's. WHY?

I'll continue to support the Salvation Army. Their motto "Doing The Most Good" is right on the mark.

Wounded Warriors is another NOT to give to. Red Cross has over 1100 people making over 100,000.00 a year. You can look up the tax return for any non profit organization. Public record.

Salvation army and Ronald McDonald House have always been top notch organizations. Your local church is also a great place to donate you can't go wrong with any of them.
