I wonder if the person/persons doing this do know this is a form of identity theft and is illegal. Not only is it identify theft but it was done with the intention of committing a crime-online harassment.

You have supposed wrong. If you are attempting to insinuate that this blog is in anyway committing online harassment you have a gross misunderstanding of the law.
Stating opinions of someone/something on a public forum is not harassment-not by anyone's stretch of the imagination.
Using an email of another person without their permission is identity theft. Using the stolen email in an attempt to annoy someone is harassment.
They can't be considered the brightest bulbs in the pack. Those with criminal minds never are. They can't put 2 and 2 together and conclude that stealing someone's email is no different then any other form of theft. Only more proof of the type of people these are.
