Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions named six Middle Eastern countries on Sunday that he believes should be included in the Muslim travel ban proposed by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
"It all depends on population. Pakistan has a number — people from Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen," Sessions told CNN's Dana Bash when pressed to name which countries the U.S. should specifically look at.
The Alabama Republican declined to include Saudi Arabia, an Arab ally of the U.S.
"We should slow down. Let's have a pause and begin to analyze where the threats are coming from. Slowing down, I think is a good idea," Sessions said.
