A Crazy Line On Memorial Day Weekend At Seacrets

Grant Fitschle said on Facebook, Look closely. That's a line that's over five blocks long (disappears around the corner at the end) to get into Seacrets at NINE AM in the morning!!!

They say the line goes all the way back to 52nd Street.

How big of a poser do you have to be to stand in line that long for a third rate bar with awful food?

I can remember the beach when it stopped just past the Carousel Hotel and going to the beach for the day meant warm beach blankets and baby oil and plenty of good clean fun with your friends. As far as I'm concerned the beach has been ruined for all locals. We always look forward to the beginning of school in the fall to get our town back. Now that is being ruined as well.

The very people who had it so good as kids at the beach have built bars on every corner and ruined the whole idea. Score one for greed.

Don't be angry at corporations that came in and build high rises. Be angry because the local dudes are selling out and ruining the beach. The biggest bars at the beach are owned by locals and one Baltimore transplant. They may have started out to make some money (nothing wrong with that) but when football fighters are breaking up the bar and heavy security has to be located just outside things are out of hand. I would not go anywhere near those places at night.

As a local, from Memorial Day to Labor Day is entertainment season for me. I enjoy watching all the entertainment so off all their talents especially after the 9pm hour. Then the walks of shame in the early hours between 5-7am.

The best is Coastal Highway Frogger! More surprising than the entertainers not walking in the cross walks is the many many merchants doing exactly the same thing.

The beach returns to locals in September...until then many weeks of yuck yucks to enjoy!

Sad, but very true!
